Luffy as a partner is really rambunctious and loving

But do note that loving doesn’t always mean romantic

for him it means loving you a lot but not being lovey dovey when showing it

you need protecting? He’s on the case!! He can’t and he has to beat someone up? One of your nakama’ll do it so stay with them!

your strong? Perfect! He’s gonna go fight this guy so you go beat up that one!

why am I mentioning that? Because it shows he has a great sense of trust and faith in you

Of course he does with all his friends but your reasoning is different

not only are you his nakama, your also his partner!! Which means he loves you in a intimate way!! Not just platonically

I love that you went from the watchers being this mildly terrifying force that doesn’t realize they’re terrifying (and traumatizing Grian) side eyeing that one 3L comic you made about the watchers making it a “game” for Grian (still very much thinking about the “yaaaaay you won!”) to now Oh My Gosh A Tiny Being Can We Adopt Him pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease

ehehe i was trying to get my footing !! I think I have a grasp now on how I like writing them now ....

However !! The Watchers still very much traumatize Grian, even though they genuinely do love him, I've said that since the beginning, thats their babeyyyyyyyy Watcher, but still a Watcher nonetheless.

Aethers not exactly excused from this either, she loves him and cares abt him, but shes an angel, she just doesn't understand. She has an issue with..... Toxic positivity ? Shes not very confrontational and doesn't want to have hard conversations with him, its easier to hide things or just comfort him by rubbing his back or hair when hes upset. When Grian asks to visit Evo again early on, she already knows all the players have left, but lets him see for himself anyway. Its like when a kid begs to eat something like cocoa powder, not understanding how bitter it is, so you just let them. So its not a big deal to her, but is to Grian, its the horrifying realization that he is completely alone, all of his friends left, he feels abandoned and betrayed. All good things must come to an end though, she says, nothing lasts forever, except us ! haha !

Not to mention the purposeful sleep deprivation and isolation, the full control over what he eats, where he goes, what he does. Its not very fun being a kid, its hard and no one understands.

Aether didn't originally want to be a parent, nor was she exactly ready for that, so she just did a lot of things that were normal to her, what she went through or what other Watchers had told her. But ! She does care abt him, enough to bend the rules just a tinyyy bittttt sometimes bc ~technically shes allowed to since he's her kid, yes he can go home if he has a headache or eat fish if he asks for it wym.

Theres also Flora, his aunt, she has no interest in kids and sees Grian just as a Watcher in training, this means she's a lot harder on him, but bc he's her sister's kid she doesn't act on this all the time. She also projects her own issues on him, how can you survive or do anything in life if you're not strong ? Here fight this phantom creature you've literally never seen before. Thats as far as their relationship goes, she teaches him to fight. She pets his head sometimes anyway. (kind of like how parents will sometimes force their kids to play sports, or take extra classes, or get frustrated with you over math and you cry over disappointing them)

I don't think the Watchers are intentionally evil, but I don't think they're goofy dumb birds with baby fever either, they're complicated !! There something abt how people who love you can hurt you, and religion can try to save you and it'll doom you instead. (ok they can be a little bit dumb birds sometimes, but they're also righteous angels at the same time)

Its also kinda scary being 25 years old, and then being brought to some place you thought you had equal grounds on, but everyone is taller/stronger and treats you like a child or even a pet, that alone would have some side effects, i imagine.

They're very fun to write abt.

Grian also doesn't often get to see the sun.

reposting a thread here from twt on my interpretation of ivan and love because why not

ivan so beautiful when you consider his love a proof of self. wym his love for till can be seen as an attempt to abstract value from suffering. wym he calls it shallow in the sense that ivan views it as inherently selfish

ivan being pragmatic by nature and achieving through observation and replication as he cannot naturally "feel" his way through interpersonal relationships and express a true "self". he holds many things in concept "do you like anybody" "i wouldn't know what closeness entails"

i wouldn't say that ivan dislikes sua, only the concept of her. because if someone of the same exact disposition, the same exact variables, manages an irreproducible love then the fault lies in the self: it is an admittance of being fundamentally broken and "different"

that is why he finds superiority over sua when he finds out of her plans of sacrifice: her love is just as selfish as his. it's ok if they're BOTH freaks it's just not ok to be the ONLY freak. i do not think it's an envy of mizi's reciprocation note how he comments on her eyes

and how they had a light that disturbed him. she already found simple joy from the broken environment they were both brought forth from. "I should've been nicer" is just ivan realizing how selfish it is trivialize other people for experiencing and finding joy easier than him

because the difficulty in his happiness vs others does not makes his any more valuable or "genuine". he can view his approach superior and calculated, jaded towards the rest, but at the end of the day he was the sole person who didn't find his peace

NOT entirely true he did find it go go ivan smile smile. but yeah i do not think being raised in a human farm for the giggles of bougie aliens + severe depression helped his case. look at how moe actor au is. so much more lively and expressive, no longer victim of circumstance

i wanted to do this as an epilogue instead of a written chapter. i thought it would be sweet! plus, i had some anons ask for a couple more instagram posts before i finished the series :)

I wouldn't put it past Wym Tord to pull a stunt like that honestly. I hadn't heard that, but it's not surprising given that Tom King wrote Batman for several years. It's clear that to some extent he's differentiating between Diana and Batman/Batfam, but here she's not as different from them as she'd probably like to believe. That could be interesting if she realizes it in an issue or two and it leads to some soul-searching, but I'm not feeling a ton of faith in that.

It is weird, yeah. I guess it's possible he's allowed to be free in exchange for his silence (and maybe assistance), but I can't imagine that even Digger enjoys seeing his friends (or colleagues, if we're being pessimistic about his feelings for other people) depowered, imprisoned, and enslaved. I guess it's also possible he agrees with Waller's goals, but that seems less likely because she also wants to take down low-powered everyday villains like him.

Both Marvel and DC (but especially DC) go through their edgy phases, and it's honestly tiresome. But it's interesting, I did a quick google of some fan reviews of the issue at other sites and none of them expressed dismay over the torture or even had a problem with the way Digger was treated. It obviously wasn't an exhaustive search and maybe there are others who are upset, but maybe it's just us Digger/villain fans who are bothered :\

i've seen people complain, calling jk a sellout for singing pop music (wym?? he IS a POP star like im so confused), or the seven choreo not being too complicated (i'd love to yalls dance moves), comparing him to other members and creating a stupid, inexistent competition between them, asking him fruitless questions on his lives or just being plain rude. i've seen people psychoanalyzing the members, some of you even theorizing that jk might be autistic which is just... insane, like what the fuck is wrong with y'all? feeling ENTITLED enough to diagnose mental disorders to people you've never met and will never meet? i am literally speechless. and dont even get me started with the jikook and taekook shippers STILL fighting in the tags.............. its been 10 years, mamas, drop it already. its extremely gross to enforce a sexual orientation down these 7 men's throats.

those of us who have been here since the beginning have seen these boys through SO much. we prayed for their success and did everything we could to expose them to be the worlwide phenomenon they are today, literally from 0 to 100 and yall just... took that shit from granted when you dont even know the STRUGGLE that was stanning bts back in the day.

i didnt know how to start todays composition but i kept thinking “kuro-sharing, kuro-sharing” and i recalled how not one day goes by without us showing pictures of what we did in a day. i have never had such an intimate and close-knitted relation with someone before, let alone with an online buddy, but you make me comfortable enough to spam you with hundreds of messages and sky pics. you make me feel comfortable in my own skin and i don't have to pretend about anything with you. thank you for taking me everywhere you go, to the night walks, to that laundry place, to the lake (my fav place) and even to bakeries and restaurants (and so many more places). you have no idea how important that makes me feel and i will forever keep these memories close to my heart. my favourite place after the lake has got to be one of those rich karaokes you went to and that one pretty bar btw. you're a really thoughtful person, roku, and i really hope that you only meet as thoughtful and caring people like you. there's no doubt im gonna beat everyone at taking care of you ofc, but i keep praying people like your roommate get some sense knocked into them and realize what a gem you are. a perfect crystal clear gem that i wanna keep in my pocket 😵‍💫🤞. always take care of yourself and don't let anyone ever hurt you.

Your tags are interesting to me because I am not autistic but am neurodivergent and the large majority of men I've dated and partnered with have been somehow ND themselves and when writing romance and intimacy I almost exclusively write reference 1: myself and experiences I personally have had 2: men I have had as friends and/or partners 3: people and scenarios I find incredibly attractive.

I don't know if I would specifically call it an autistic thing because I have seen it in non-autistic neurodiverse people, but I have also seen it often enough to know it's more common than a lot of folks realize.

I also used to experience similar prior to transitioning. I never really considered my own capacity to be found attractive to someone and in fact was so used to being treated as the ugly daughter/sister that when someone would voice attraction, it would make me feel BAD and I would reject it out of hand as that person just trying to be nice about my obvious ugliness. Literally the worst way to convince baby!me to give you a chance was to say you thought I was visually pleasing because I straight up wouldn't believe you and would get incredibly suspicious about what you wanted from me. Vs now I preen and coo when dudes drool over me online and in person.

And I think I've given Panic a little of both, but a more healthy state of mind than I had when I was young. He's a tiefling that was raised surrounded by humans, and while his family came to accept him before he was old enough to remember anything different, visitors to the monastery were frequently quite frightened of him when he would walk into the room. That is, of course, why he chose to be called Panic.

So the concept of being wanted based on physical traits is a little foreign to him currently- as a traveling monk making just enough money to feed himself by punching bandits and rebuilding wells, most people regard him with a healthy amount of suspicion and keep a wide berth. He's a constant stranger and he's not a folk hero so he doesn't get Wyll's "beloved by the masses" reception when he rolls up to civilization looking for some food. He doesn't do big acts of heroism and in-game he asks the bards to please not sing about him (humility is prized by his patron) so most of his experiences with other people are one-offs.

And also some of it's just Panic himself. He's never thought too hard about pursuing romantic relationships and doesn't even know what gender(s) he likes, Astarion's the first to really tempt him and he's still not sure if he wants to move forward with that or how he wants to respond to the offer. In-game they did have sex but that's mostly bc I wanted the approval points lmao it's fade to black after he gets bit and for whatever reason Astarion never took off his pants even tho Panic did. So for all I know they did a little bit of heavy petting and dry humping and decided to call it there. Which I think would be more accurate for Panic considering, again, his high insight modifier let's him see through the front and I don't think he'd be comfortable pushing for more than that as a result.

So Astarion comes up to him in camp all flirting and eyelash batting and Panic's like uhhh OK. Logically I know you are actively flirting with me. And I suppose the compliment is appreciated. The other night was pretty fun. But A: how do I even respond to this and B: it doesn't really seem like you want it and you not wanting it kills what interest I have in continuing. ㅤㅤit’s cheesy, the way you were sitting down next to each other at the train station, waiting for the rain to stop. it had been a lot noisier back then, when a group of friends had taken up almost the entire space, leaving isagi with no other available seat except the one next to you. not that you mind anyway, he seemed less intimidating than those other people. but when they finally got up and left, he didn’t move to the other end. neither did you. the rest of the wait was spent in complete silence. it wasn’t until it was announced that the train would be arriving late that the two of you made a sound; it’s kind of funny how you sighed at the same time, both utterly defeated. you laughed together at the predicament you’re in, looking at each other afterwards before realizing that you were wearing the same uniform. this prompted a rather pleasant conversation, resulting in the two of you being so immersed in each other’s company that you ended up missing the train. in the end, the rain kept pouring and it was getting really late, so you opted to walking back home together — shoulders touching just like a moment ago.

ㅤㅤon valentine’s day, his locker was always stuffed with stacks upon stacks of chocolate boxes, complete with a love letter attached to each. rin didn’t bother sifting through the handwritten messages because there was no need to. all those unsaid confessions would be returned to their respective senders by the end of the day. it’s petty how he went all around the school just to give them back individually. and it’s cliché how he thought he was doing a great job until he mixed up someone’s name with yours. he kept insisting and you kept declining. back and forth you bicker with each other, causing a small crowd to gather, trying to see what the commotion was about. at last, you got fed up and half-screamed your full name at him. you watched as his eyes widened, followed by his cheeks turning bright red and him stuttering badly from embarrassment. unbeknownst to you, hiding behind a wall were other students observing this encounter. though they couldn’t actually hear the words exchanged between you two, a speculation was already brewing amongst them. “holy shit, is itoshi rin confessing?”

ㅤㅤyou had never talked to him before, despite being classmates. he was always busy with training; the type that’s allowed to ditch class whenever competitions are approaching. on top of that, your schedules never coincided and there was never a project that grouped you both together. not long after came the news of the injury. “confidence” somehow turned into “arrogance” and people were turning their backs on him, spewing off nasty comments whenever they could. no one lent a hand when he was struggling with schoolwork, since he had to take a recovery leave. you still remember his untrusting eyes and hesitant hand as you offered him your notebook. he spent the entire lunch break with you, occasionally stealing a glance at you, and opening up just a little bit when you asked him about what happened. you could tell that he was still unsure of this unprompted kindness, but it was a promising start. a black cat came around the corner and sat with the two of you, witnessing something great in the making.

⚘ MIKAGE REO

ㅤㅤhe’s easy to talk to, but he’s not the easiest person to approach because people constantly gather around him, begging for a chance. you didn’t quite understand why he was holed up in the library all alone with his shoulders hunched over and no book in sight, just casually sitting on the ground near a bookshelf. you looked around trying to find his study partner, but there were only the two of you in proximity. he was mumbling something along the line of persuading someone to participate in a team. not wanting to derail his train of thoughts, you didn’t dare ask him to move even though you still had to reach over his head to grab the textbook you wanted. tiptoeing is tricky when someone’s in the way. had the book fell a bit more to the left, it would have landed right on his head. his stare was burning holes into your very existence. “if i throw a ball at him, do you think—” he immediately backtracked when he saw your horrified face. “oh, sorry. uh… would you mind indulging me for a bit?”

Like I just really feel happy for him that he has two dads who actually figured out how to put the past behind them to not have any infighting between them so that both of them are healthy father figures. Jim has already been through literal hell and back losing his actual humanity in the process so if he loses one of them, I'm going to be really pissed because at this point, this is just Jim torture porn. Y'all know how as SpongeBob SquarePants went on, the show just became Squidward torture porn? It's starting to feel that way for toa and I really hope they cut the shit by the ending

YESSSSSSS Someone finally doesn't treat toby like a fat waste of space who messes stuff up!!! I think out of all the characters that would have been most deserving of a rewrite, it's Toby. Sometimes I just feel he's only comic relief and any heartfelt moments he's had in the series was also born of stupidity (ie his flour baby project being unharmed was seen by him as divine intervention from his parents but was actually just Eli and Steve behind the scenes).

And that's all! I'd rate it a 6.5/10 because it's definitely the weakest of all the sequels but still had amazing animation and some good plot points. It's just really hard to look over the bad stuff enough to rate it any higher.
