mafuyu x ??? parallels

does anyone notice how many project sekai parallels there are? like i have so much to list out it’s not even funny anymore 😭 (also hear me out, it’s parallels, not similarity)

shizumafu: they both yearned to be seen as perfect by others. they were scared that they would let down others expectations and be seen as a failure. shizuku was about to practically lose herself if she continued like that while mafuyu already has.

mafukasa: both of their goals and motivations started from wanting to make others happy. mafuyu started from her parents (specifically mom), while tsukasa’s started from saki. both of their sekai’s were also made from their feelings and they’re both class representatives. they both have repressed things about themselves (tsukasa with memories, mafuyu with her personality/identity). how people perceived the two were completely different from how they see themselves. they both try to mask their true emotions for the sake of others and reluctant to showing them. as mafuyu’s emotions are slowly getting better, tsukasa’s are going down (debatable with recent events). how their parents cared were different too. mafuyu’s mom would smother her with “love” while tsukasa’s parents (technically) “neglected” him because of saki’s hospitalization (debatable?). tsukasa was neglected, although unintentional because he was left home alone at an age where he shouldn’t have been. they both also had childhood plushies (debatable because the bunny plushie was saki’s technically). also tsukasa probably would’ve ended up like mafuyu if he didn’t have someone who cared and spent time with him, saki. if only mafuyu had someone in real life that genuinely could understand her and care for her when growing up, maybe things could’ve changed, even just one bit?

mafutoya: their parents both pressured them to go so far until they couldn’t do it anymore, yet still they care about them in some way even after all of the things that happened. toya was resented from going outside to play with his friends to practice piano and violin for HOURS until he got it correct, mafuyu was resented from doing the things she liked and going online (seen when mafuyu’s mom threw out her synthesizer and mafuyu’s phone into her aquarium).

mafuemu: both of them suppressed their true feelings and emotions away from others for the sake of making others happy. emu is always seen as this cheerful, happy person who wants to spread joy and cheer to everyone, but doesn’t really share her feelings at all unless it’s to wxs. mafuyu put on this role to be perfect and a role-model to everyone. mafuyu also doesn’t show her true empty feelings unless it’s to niigo. they both bottle up their feelings until they can’t anymore and have no choice but to cry. mafuyu can barely even understand the concept of feelings anymore and is at loss of taste.

mafurui: i’m pretty sure this is less popular since there isn’t that much (nah i js gotta search harder) but rui couldn’t understand his feelings and dreams back then. mafuyu could and now she can’t anymore. it’s like both of their stories are so similar, just reversed. also in both of their focus songs, “cyberpunk dead boy” and “jackpot sad girl” names related too. they’re both seen restricted in their cards, rui being covered with a mask and mafuyu… it’s the strings of a marionette around her (she’s being controlled) and the mask (her true feelings vs her fake ones, the true ones being masked away by the flowers on her head). both of their problems were also caused by intelligence and how no one around them could understand.

he loves by telling you aggressively not to overwork, just because he seems distant doesn't mean he doesn't care about you. and then when you don't, he lightly scolds you, calling you stupid for not listening to him, but even after all that, he still takes care of you.

he loves by looking out for you. telling people to shut up because your sleeping— telling people to fuck off because you're getting uncomfortable and because he knows you're too nice to say anything.

he loves by treating you sometimes with his own hard earned money. akito wants to take you out with his own money. not anyone else's. refuses to buy anything for you unless it's with his money.

he loves by being attentive. you send a chat that you're tired, and he reads it immediately. you might think he ignored you but 7 minutes later he's outside your house with some snacks so he can help you with whatever your dealing with. he walks in before closing the door with the spare key you gave him, going inside your room saying, “i heard someone was stressed.”

he loves by being an asshole. you were so sick of him that you say, “why are you always such an ass to me? what the fuck did i do?” and he replies with “I'm 'such an ass' because I'm in love with you, you fucking dumbass.” that was basically how he confessed.

toya is an interesting person, it's hard to tell what he's thinking, but besides that, you still love him.

he loves by being considerate without you asking. one time, he heard you were having difficulties with an exam. so he came over and studied— even if he was tired, he's still considering you. motivating you even though your also tired.

he loves by giving you gifts as appreciation. we all know toya has a habit of literally winning a lot of stuff in arcades, so most of his winnings go mostly to you. you know, your plushies have their own bed now because of him.

he loves by reassuring you with anything and everything. telling you even when you're stuggling, bad times and good times, that he's still in love with you, even in arguments. tells you he'll still love you as you are whenever your too shy. tells you it's okay to make mistakes.

he loves by doing what he dislikes the most just for you. even if you never asked for it. you could say you love piano covers and suddenly he sends you a recording of him playing your favorite song on the piano even though it brings him unpleasant memories, he knows you'd never do something he doesn't like, but he can't help but do it for the person he loves.

tsukasa is a very, very energetic person. which makes him hard to get along with especially if you're an introvert.

he loves by making you smile almost always. how he goes the most goofiest shit just to see you smile. the lengths he goes just to see you happy. wxs calls him a simp, but who is he to deny that? even before you both start dating, his focus is always on you. and saki

he loves by showing you off / flexing you. you just laugh it off, but he really likes doing it. he always goes "oh my god their so amazing how could I get so lucky" etc. people give him weird stares, but he says everything he says is true.

he loves by helping with your social skills. if you're anxious, of course. he isn't afraid to introduce you to his other friends, encouraging you to talk, even if you don't want to, it's okay. he'll talk for you, no problem.

he loves by always spending time with you. he's always with you to the point that when you two are seperated, something went wrong. but really, he's just really busy. even if he is busy, he always makes time for you, checkin up on you everyday, and gets worried when you don't reply.

rui is also an interesting person. you question him sometimes, but you still love him.

he loves by flirting with you. will stop if you're uncomfortable of course, but if you aren't, pickup lines are daily. and it isn't those weird cheesy ones. it's the ones that come out of no where. when you say something— he always has a pick up line to say. it's a 6th sense at this point.

he loves by listening to you. when you tell him to eat and stop being picky, he's pouting while eating vegetables. listening to you also means while you're sad. he's all ears. giving advice there and then unless you only want him to listen. and he's greatful that you're willing to share with him.

he loves by always willing to help you with anything. especially with robotics if you take it. he's really smart, you know. but he just.. doesn't use his smartness well if you know what I mean. if you two listen enough in class, then you two are definitely passing.

he loves by always noticing you when you're left out. he sees your trying to talk but other people keep interrupting. suddenly his voice gradually gets loulder when he says "ah wait [name], what were you trying to say?" always considering you even in moments like these, and you always appreciate it.

Let's kill Tsukasa Tenma.

Imagine Tsukasa having his Saki's same illness. But he dies before Saki is born and remains as a ghost.

Our dear ghost begins to take care of his sister, hoping she doesn't die. And Saki doesn't even know she has a brother cause her parents never told her. She just call Tsukasa 'Nii chan' because he takes care of her in the hospital.

He knows how is it to die like that, so he uses his ghost powers to do magic tricks and.... Basically the other Tsukasa Tenma stuff he used to do in the hospital. Making the hina dolls float, and stuff like that.

Basically, the whole Saki Tenma childhood but with ghost-Kasa.

One day they speak about how Saki may be discharged (this is like, his third year of middle school) and he's scared she won't be able to see him anymore. So he wanders, finds Kamikou, and... Oh! Oh! There's a purple haired boy on the rooftop...! And why is he looking at him?

Tsukasa spends hours speaking with this guy, and the guy tells Tsukasa he wants to be a stage director, so Tsukasa begins to help him with special effects and stuff, having fun while Saki rests.

(he also helps Nene getting back into theater, pushing Rui to retie their friendship)

And then, when he should be in second year, Saki gets better, Leo/need gets back together, and she stops seeing him. Tells their parents one day that "Nii chan is gone", and then she finds out the truth.

But he's the one who thinks she should move on, that she doesn't need someone to always watch her and protect her forever.

WxS in the meantime meets Tsukasa. Wonder Stage feels livelier than ever! And Saki one day goes see their shows... And Tsukasa is there. On the stage. Where he should be.

Saki cries. Tsukasa hugs her.

The two talk, finally, and eventually, he decides to stay, he has a reason to stay, but none to go. He's at peace, and yet his peace is living. He wasn't ready to die, he still isn't. All he knows, is that in that world, he's still needed.

He'll eventually end up in the sekai, somehow, acting like one of the VS as an hologram inside the phone, some sort of entity traveling between Sekais (his and L/n's mostly, but as he meets more people, he'll begin to find ways to enter the other Sekais because we love Tsukasa's energy)

Okay, new AU idea based off my current team's costumes on EN:

In this AU, WxS never formed. In fact, they didn't even meet each other (aside from Nene and Rui).

Nene goes to an unnamed school (unnamed because 1) I couldn't think of one, and 2) it doesn't matter in the end) where she's known as the quiet, shy girl, who does nothing but play video games. She's very lonely because of this, and due to her old friend's disappearance earlier that year. No one knows what happened to Rui Kamishiro and many believe he had finally succumbed to a fault in his inventing.

Nene doesn't believe that he's truly gone but she wishes she had a definite answer.

Well, one day, Nene was approached by some of her classmates while she was consumed by her current game. It wasn't until her gaming console was taken out of her hands that she noticed them. It wasn't the first time this has happened and it didn't make it any less frustrating and upsetting for her. It was always like this. She was just a scared little rabbit amongst a class that dubbed themselves wolves. They would take something from her and provoke her until either she cried or a teacher interfered.

Not this time. This time they didn't bother to wait for her tears to falls or for a teacher to walk over and demand the console. Instead they pushed Nene towards the trees of a nearby park. The park had long since been abandoned. It was overgrown with fauna and some even called it a small forest. She was to spend the rest of the day there. Come the end of the day, if she came out, they would give her her console back. If not, well, hopefully she made it back home.

Nene was about to tell to forget it and to just keep her stupid console when one of them shoved her into the bushes. She heard them laughing as they ran off. Just as she got up, she noticed it looked like she went farther in than she believed. The trees seemed taller and denser...it felt eerie despite being rather bright...no matter. She just has to walk forwards and... there were more tree. She just has to continue forwards, her school should just be a few feet...more trees.

She didn't get that far from her school. She wasn't even that far in the park. She was just in front of the first few trees it had. She was pushed in a bush, there was no way she ended up somewhere else. The stories about the park were just that. Stories. Everyone who entered always made it out. So why? Where was she? She couldn't hear the kids from her school or the school's bell. She couldn't see the playground equipment. Where. Was. She?!

Not wanting to get, but also not wanting to stay out, Nene eventually started to walk around. Maybe she was being paranoid. Maybe her game got to her. Or maybe her emotions were getting to her because of what's been going on.

Nene makes her way through the...forest? Park? She's not sure anymore, when she sees flowers. Bright, colorful, beautiful flowers. For a moment, she thinks she finally made it out. She walks over to them and follows them as they grow and grow. That's when she sees her.

Blue pigtails, pink cat ears, her clothing covered with the same flowers she's been following.

It can't be. This has to be a costume. Right? This can't be... Hatsune...Miku?

Can it?

It is. One tug on her hair and cat ears proves it. Unless she was a very dedicated cosplayer...but...

Whatever, maybe now Nene can get answers. Miku is more than happy to give them to her. She's entered a place known as SEKAI. It's been a while since a human has entered their little world. Miku loves it when people visit and when they like her flowers.

Is there a way for Nene to go back? Go back? Why? Why does Nene want to go back? Does she not like Miku's flowers? No, no no no, it's not that. She just wants to go home.

Well...uh... that's kinda the problem...SEKAI opens and closes at random. It could be hours, days or even months before it opens and allows anyone to enter or exit. BUT BUT BUT!!

Maybe KAITO can help!! He knows more about people being able to come and go from SEKAI.

KAITO?

Yes. KAITO. A warm hearted demon who lives deep within SEKAI.

KAITO is willing to do what he can to help Nene. He can't promise he can get her home soon, but maybe he can see something about shortening her stay. Meanwhile, he's more than happy to let her live with him and his two charges.

Knowing there is no better choice, although she could stay with Miku, Nene takes him up on the offer.

Now, while he works on getting her home, there are more things to know about SEKAI. No one is human here. Well, duh, obviously. No, literally no one is human, if they were human once, they no longer are. Miku is a cat. KAITO is a demon. One of his charges is a wolf, the other a tiger. Years ago, a bear cub* found her way into SEKAI. All three of them were humans once, and all of them had lived long enough to lose their humanity. Only the bear cub left SEKAI as soon as she learned to cloak her new features.

You cannot survive in SEKAI as a human. SEKAI tends to make you lose your mind if you try to stay human. It likes playing mind games with humans. Trapping them and making them go insane. For her safety, she had to wear a disguise.

She might not look that much like a cuddly, fluffy, rabbit, but her cyber-rabbit ears will have to do. How KAITO had them, she didn't want to know.

Since KAITO would be busy looking into a faster way to return Nene home, and Miku had long since left back to her garden, Nene decided to walk around.

While she knew KAITO had two charges, she didn't think she'd run into either of them. She'd hope to avoid them. But since when did she have luck?

She ran into the first as she explored. The wolf before her was tall and had long hair tied in a low ponytail. He was also, as Nene quickly found out, loud.

After they both managed to calm down, he introduced himself as Tsukasa Tenma.

Tenma? Nene was sure she knew that family. Their children went missing years ago and the search for them was stopped by the parents, who had given up. Their son went missing first and his sister followed soon after. Search after search resulted in nothing, so both parents assumed their children would never return (for whatever reason you wish to assume) and called everything off.

Tsukasa tells her it could be a coincidence, he can't really remember anything from before he arrived in SEKAI. But he is surprised she knows he has a sister. His darling sister Saki!! She lives nearby with Luka!

Luka?? As in, Megurine Luka? That Luka?

Yes.

This was getting to be too much. She needed a break. Just, give her a moment.

Deciding the best thing to do was get some sleep, Nene opened a door, and upon seeing the bed inside, went in and collapsed into it.

Maybe she would wake up in her room. Maybe a teacher found her and she didn't realize because she blocked it out. Maybe she would wake up in those bushes again, see her school, and go home and beg her parents to be homeschooled. Maybe this was just a dream inspired by all the games she's been playing and this was a sign that she needed a break....yeah.

Yeah. Sure. Let's go with the "this is all a dream~" theory.

And that's when she hears his voice. His damn voice saying her name. She didn't want to look. It felt like this fueled the whole dream theory.

He said her name again. She didn't look. She ignored him until his hand touched her shoulder. She looked back and saw KAITO's second charge.

Despite the tiger ears on his head, she recognized him. How could she not recognize him?

Rui FUCKING Kamishiro. Her childhood friend who disappeared months ago.

But, how could he remember her? Tsukasa couldn't remember his past, so why did Rui? If...if she had come years later, would Rui have forgotten her?

Well...maybe. Rui had only been there for a few months, he was still adjusting to his new life in SEKAI. He still has memories of things and people from back home.

Tsukasa, on the other hand, as Rui found out from KAITO, had been in SEKAI since he was about 13, he is about to turn 17. He's been in SEKAI for roughly 4 years now, as Miku and KAITO said, he lost his humanity. In his mind, he's always been a wolf. When he arrived, Miku found him and took him to KAITO. To protect him, they gave him the ears of a wolf costume. But when the "doors" of SEKAI opened, he didn't want to leave. He didn't want to go back to an empty home. To parents who were almost never there. To a school where if he was too loud, he was annoying, but if he's too quiet he's a weirdo. The only person he'd miss and who'd miss him was his sister. But in the moment, that wasn't enough to convince him to go home. So, he stayed longer. And longer. And...longer.

And one day, he just, couldn't remember anything of his past beyond having a sister and his own name. The ears of the wolf costume turned into real ones. His appetite changed, his mood changed. But while he is a wolf, it's more like he's a dog. He loves attention and is very affectionate, kinda like a puppy.

Anyways, when Miku brought Rui over, the two boys weren't exactly friends. Since KAITO was trying to help Rui return home, Tsukasa felt like his caretaker was ignoring him. The boys would snap at each other and pick fights over the smallest of things.

tsukasa loves to bake. she uses baking to procrastinate, relax and relieve stress, or just to have fun. she likes to invite other people to come bake with her. when he does bake if he ends up with a lot of extras he brings them to the wonder stage for a treat after practice

nene often wears headphones (normal with music playing or noise cancelling) because the noise of crowds stresses them out

they all have matching friendship bracelets that were made by emu with lots and lots of love

if tsukasa knows rui is having a bad day he buys her favorite snacks and they hangout and watch bad movies together

tsukasa has a star nightlight and those glow in the dark star ceiling stickers

rui's hands are always covered in bandaids which are often mismatched because they get given to him by the other members of wxs <3

I'm gonna answer mostly based on the songs that are available on EN because I'm not up to date with what songs are on JP. Also this response ended up being pretty long and detailed, hope you don't mind! (putting it under cut for that reason. it is a seriously long answer because I have Thoughts)

Commission songs

Leo/need: Flyaway or Teratera orrrr Voices. These are actually the only l/n comms I even really like. Voices only started to grow on me after hearing the Luka and Shiho cover of it. Writing this answer made me go check out the full version of Teratera for the first time and they really left the best parts out of the game huh. So maybe if I have to pick one it's Teratera.

More More Jump!: Parasol Cider 100000000%! what a banger honestly. Had that stuck in my head for hours on end during the event and did not mind it one bit

Vivid BAD SQUAD: Maybe Ready Steady? I'm a Giga enjoyer and the VBS covers have been pretty nice Hitsuji ga Ippiki is a close second though! If I was including the JP songs then Beyond the Way I forgot about Moodlight. Moonlight is my favourite, the melancholic vibes will always be number one for me (this is in no way foreshadowing for the rest of this list, no way)

Wonderland x Showtime: I am in hell, truly, trying to pick just one and not every single one. Back when I started playing proseka for the first time I really adored Tondemo Wonders and it's still one of my favourites out of all proseka songs along with Potatoes but. This one is definitely between Mr Showtime and Donna Ketsumatsu. The angst of both of these songs, the melancholy!! I think it's gotta be Mr. Showtime though, I prefer the style of music of that song over Donna Ketsumatsu.

25-ji, Nightcord de: Since Kitty is not yet released on EN, this is easy, it's Samsa. I absolutely lose it whenever that song plays anywhere (my friends can testify to me going nuts at a con when a dance group doing N25 dance covers started playing Samsa). Used to listen to this song daily and I even read Metamorphosis thanks to liking the song so much (knowing the plot adds a lot to the song imo). Honestly love almost all of N25 comms though!

VIRTUAL SINGER: I'm including this here just so I have a reason to put ÅMARA on this list. What a banger. Wish I didn't suck at stair notes so bad because I would be playing this on expert all the time otherwise

I really like kagepro songs and I'd like to include them here but they did something to the drums in the proseka versions that I don't vibe with at all.

Wonderland x Showtime: I thought I was in hell before... Nonsense Bungaku comes to mind first along with Goodbye Declaration. Honestly I don't think they have a single bad cover... You know what I'm gonna make an exception and use a song that's not on EN yet, I think my fav cover from wxs is Childish War (though they missed a huge fucking opporturnity by not making it a Ena and Akito cover, seriously). That song is like the second or third vocaloid song I ever liked, so it has a special place in my heart, enough so that I'm planning on doing a pair cosplay of the Kagamine twins in it with a friend (also the og MV art is by Miwashiba!! I love their games and art a lot!) I think it's a superb cover, Tsukasa yelling it is very fitting and all that.

here's some silly headcanons i've been thinking about lately! these are all silly and just for fun so please do not take them too seriously, just enjoy!

leo/need

saki constantly takes leo/need on shopping sprees and gets them to try on some outfits! shiho refuses, but gets dragged into the changing stalls anyway and later comes out with a frilly pink dress and an unimpressed frown.

they have a very long group chat name which is constantly being added to. to be honest, they probably communicate through the name more than the actual messages they send in the chat.

honami always has an emergency kit with almost anything one could possibly need - bandaids, disinfectant, tissues, and even some yummy snacks for when someone is feeling down!

leo/need is always on high alert around saki! they check up on her even with the slightest cough or sneeze. she gets tired of them being so cautious, but appreciates that they care so much <3

they LOVE camping in their favourite park! although they decided to put that idea on hold after a stray cat got into the tent and terrorised them all…

one day minori and airi were curious as to where the crowd in stage sekai went after the shows there. they tried to stay overnight and see what was going on, but they got disconnected from the sekai! guess they will never know, huh?

minori has posters of haruka all over her room. one day when haruka came to her house, she stuffed all the posters into her bathroom and they got wet… she cried for an hour over her limited edition posters… poor minori :(

shizuku does not understand the concept of emojis. this does not correspond well with airi, who constantly uses the 😭 and 💀 emojis - “airi, are you alright? why are you crying… are you dead?”

minori knows haruka is careful about food, which is why she taught herself to make some super yummy and healthy snacks! she almost burnt down her kitchen, but at least her idol was happy :D

vivid bad squad

they all pretty much have rooms in weekend garage - kohane decorated an’s empty closet, and akito and toya put some things in the empty storage room. it may seem like an odd setup, but all of them are happy to take a break in their small areas when they are tired!

an’s obsession with stars has increased over the years, to the point where her entire bedroom is filled with them. glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, pictures of vbs in star shaped frames, she has got it all!

akito forces the rest of the group to go to strength training because ‘a strong body equals a strong performance!’ an can keep up, kohane is about to pass out, and toya is already lying face flat on the floor…

wonderlands x showtime

this group has had some very cursed sleepovers. tsukasa snores obnoxiously loud, rui death grips whatever member is closest to him, emu somehow ends up upside down every single night, and nene is left wide awake because of these three (who somehow never wake up from this)

emu has a hard time expressing her negative feelings to the others so they always make extra care to make her happy! this is especially true for rui, who makes her all kinds of cute robots to make her happy! he even made one that emu can talk to whenever she feels sad.

nene, as much as she insults them, loves the rest of wxs so dearly. she adds pictures of them to her walls almost every day and feels happier whenever she looks at them.

emu is terrible at hide and seek, but somehow tsukasa is even worse! she will be giggling (not so) quietly and tsukasa will be completely oblivious…

mizuki and ena have an ongoing prank war involving water buckets over the door, pretending the other doesn’t exist, and even going as far as being a fake hacker! it has gotten so bad to the point where mafuyu and kanade need to prevent them from doing anything too reckless.

kanade once tried to visit mafuyu by climbing through her window after she had watched tangled. “mafuyu, m-mafuyu, let down your… rope…? hair…? u-uhmm…” kanade got some very strange looks from the neighbours that day.

mizuki absolutely adores ena’s art. they have multiple pictures of them in their room and show the art to all their friends!

Akito:

Akito's number one passion is music. Always was, and always will be

So, when you show the same passion as him, he can't help but be overjoyed!

He will sit and talk with you about music for hours. The two of you will be sitting together on his couch or bed and just listen to music together

He gets very passionate when the two of you sing together, and gives you tips a lot. He just wants to help you be the best that you can be

If you let him, he takes you with him to his performances, and you'd usually sing with the rest of VBS

If you don't like performing, he understands. He'll encourage and support you either way <3

Toya:

Toya loves music. It's always been in his life, but street music helped him embrace it even more

Once you tell him about your love for music, he's very happy!

He likes to show you different music that he heard from the others in VBS, and the two of you talk about technique. He'll explain technique if you know nothing on it

He loves singing with you, it offers a nice calm compared to most of his practices with VBS- He feels like he can just lose himself with you!

He invites you to performances, and is always happy if you want to be a guest singer

If you don't like performing though, he'll just sing with you a lot behind the scenes. He loves you either way <3

Tsukasa:

Tsukasa has always loved performing ever since he was younger, and music had always been a part of that love

When you tell him about your love for music, he will be super excited!

He plays a lot of musical songs for you, mostly because those are the ones that he prefers. He'll also jam out to any of the music that you play for him

He also teaches you the songs from WxS shows so that you can practice and sing with him! You bring your music as well, and you do dramatic duets with each other

He asks you to be a guest performer in their shows, and always gives you big scenes because he believes in you so much!!

If you don't like to perform, he will simply have two-people shows with you! Either way, he'll have tons of fun with you <3

Rui:

Rui prefers stage production and the actual making of shows more than anything, but music is a big part of shows!

So, when you tell him about your love for music, he immediately gets ideas-

You're the one who usually plays music for him, since he wants to explore different kinds of music. During those moments, you can spot him writing things down in a journal-

He loves singing with you, and it often happens without either of you planning it. He'll be working on his robots and you start singing, and then the two of you are singing a duet!

He recommends you to be a new member of WxS, thinking that your singing will definitely change things up for the group

If you don't want to perform, he's alright with that! He'll just invite you to practices and you can have the chance to sing with the others <3

(Luka uses sign language in this fic,as I hc that WxS Luka is mostly mute. Anything she says without stuttering is sign language,when she uses it,I usually indicate so by putting something like 'she signed to ___' after any sentence she uses sign language for)

'Okay,Luka! Try saying that again!'

Said Nene

Luka nodded.

'H-Hello... M-my name i-is L-Luka! W-welcome t-to the W-W-Wonderl-land sekai!'

'Great job,Luka!'

'R-r-really?'

'Yep! You didn't trail off that time! That was the longest sentence you've spoken successfully,right?'

Luka nods.

'Nene,do we have rehearsal today? I'm tired...'

Luka signed to Nene.

'Ah... I think so... We're going to be a bit late,I-'

'NENEEEE!!! LUKAAAA!!'

Tsukasa ran over and stopped right in front of the two.

'WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING?! WE HAVE A REHEARSAL TODAY! COME ON! LET'S GO!! AHAHAHA!!'

Nene sighed.

'Could you be any louder?'

'I SURE COULD!! NOW LET'S GO!'

Luka groaned and the two followed Tsukasa to the show tent,where they met up with everyone.

'Lukaaaa!!'

Luka perked up and smiled,turning and only able to hear fast tapping footsteps and catch sight of a red costume before she was nearly tackled to the ground with the force of what felt like a stampeding bull.

Meiko pulled back from the hug and kiseed Luka on the forehead.

'How did practice with Nene go today?'

'S-said a l-long s-s-sentence!'

'Really?'

'Yep! She managed to say the whole greeting today!'

Meiko squealed and hugged Luka tightly.

'Good job,LuLu!!'

Luka sighed at her partner's enthusiasm and leaned her head into Meiko's shoulder.

Meiko soon let go of Luka and turned to crush Nene in a hug.

'Thanks for helping her so much,Nene!'

'Ah- You're welcome b-but I can't b-breathe-'

'Ah,sorry!'

Meiko pulled back and turned back to Luka,who yawned.

'Aww,are you tired?'

Luka signed to him as she leaned into Meiko's chest

'Five minutes turns into an hour and we both know that,Luka.'

Kaito huffed,Luka knew Kaito couldn't resist when she made the effort to actually ask him.

'I know you're using my empathy against me here,but fine. Just this once.'

Luka yawned and hugged Meiko tightly.

Meiko picked her up and sat on the stage with her,resting Luka's head in her lap.

Luka immediately fell asleep.

She mumbled and smiled in her sleep.

Meiko giggled.

'She sure does talk alot in her sleep...'

Said Nene

'She told me once that she often has dreams where she can speak normally...'

Said Meiko

'Oh... What if she never learns to talk completely nornally,though?'

'I won't care. I love her no matter what. I'm glad you're helping her,though... I remember when the only thing she could say was 'I love you','Meiko',and her own name.'

'Meiko... I notice that she can sing without stuttering or trailing off... Why do you think that is?'

Nene asked

'Well,Nene... Singing has always been a different story for her... I think she just gets into the rhythm and emotions of the music and it just... Comes to her,I guess... I'm glad she can sing,though... She really enjoys it...'

Meiko looked down at Luka.

'Her being mostly mute has really helped me stay more in tune with her body language,though...'

'Oh? How so?'

Asked Nene

'Well,like right now...'

Luka had rolled onto her back,kind of like how a dog would.

Meiko reached down and gently rubbed circles into Luka's stomach.

'When she's rolled over like that,she wants me to rub her belly...'

'She's like a little puppy... She even whimpers like one sometimes...'

Meiko smiled.

'Meiko,the 'five minutes of snuggles' are up.'

Said Kaito.

'Oh,fine... Luka... Wake up!'

Luka opened bleary eyes.

'No,five more minutes...'

She signed.

Kaito shook his head

'Come on,let's get this rehearsal over with.'

'Come on,Lukes,we need our Sleeping Beauty for the rehersal~'

'F-fine...'

Luka took the plushie and grabbed her sewing kit which she kept in a small bag of hers.

'Is it bad?'

Asked the little cat plush

'N-no,I-I c-can s-s-se-s-...'

Luka trailed off and took a deep breath.

'S-sew it b-ba-ack o-on...'

She carefully got to work,and fixed the cat plush,giving it a little kiss on the head before turning back to Emu.

'D-Don't c-cry,E-E-Emu. A-all... B-... Bett-... Better now...'

Luka used a tissue to dry Emu's tears.

She handed the cat plush back over.

'Thank you,Luka!'

Emu hugged her

'Wonderhoy!'

She said,throwing up her arms

Said Luka cheerfully as she waved bye to Emu.

The cat plush waved to Luka as Emu carried it away.

Tsukasa saw that Luka was talking-actually talking- to an upset looking Emu,who soon walked off with something in her arms.

Tsukasa ran up,curious as to why Emu was so sad.

'LUKA!!'

He shouted as he ran up.

Luka turned to him.

'LUKA! What happened with Emu!?'

Luka stayed silent and signed something to him,but it was all foreign to him. The other WxS members had learned the basics of sign language in order to understand Luka,but he had never gotten the hang of it...

'WHA?! Say that again,please!'

Luka repeated the hand motions.

'EMU'S TURKY SANDWHICH FLEW THE WORM?! THAT MAKES NO SENSE!! That's... Not what you're saying,is it?'

Luka shook her head.

'HOW CAN I BE SO BAD AT SIGN LANGUAGE?!'

Luka shrugged.

'Why don't you just say it to me instead?'

Luka shook her head

'Why?!'

She signed something to him again.

'LUKAAAA!! I CAN'T UNDERSTAND SIGN!!'

Luka tried making gestures to explain what happened.

'Luka! Just say it! I can wait for you to take your time!'

Luka shook her head again.

'You were just talking to Emu! Are you anxious to talk to a STAR like me?? AHAHAHAHA!! SO SILLY OF YOU!'

Luka flinched as he laughed loudly,and shook her head.

Luka took out her phone and typed what she wanted to say.

Tsukasa sighed and read it,disappointed that Luka wouldn't talk to him...

Tsukasa observed as Nene made casual conversation with Luka,taking notes in his phone about how Nene acted around Luka. He wanted to be able to talk to Luka,but she never did,so he must be doing something wrong here!

He noted how Nene stood politely with her hands at her sides,and standing straight,she still seemed relaxed,though...

He noted how Nene made slow movements.

Next,he watched Luka and Emu.

He noted how Emu was smiling brightly.

Next,he watched Meiko and Luka,noting the hug and... Make out session? Maybie he should leave that part out,seems like a romance thing...

At last,Tsukasa was ready! He looked over his notes one last time and carefully approached Luka.

He stood with his hands at his side,but seemed overly stiff... He put on a big smile.

'HELLO,LUKA! WONDERHOY!'

Luka seemed confused... She tilted her head and looked a little disturbed...

Tsukasa went to give her a hug,and she stiffly stood there and accepted.

'Luka,I was wanting to talk to you about something!! I was wondering why you seem to have trouble talking to a STAR like me! So I took notes on how the others acted when talking to you and now BEHOLD!! ALL THE MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS OF WHAT YOU SEEM COMFORTABLE WITH WHEN CONVERSING! AHAHAHA! Now,Luka! Will you please talk to me? Say anything,really!'

Luka shook her head and seemed very confused,signing something to him

'WHAAAATTT?!?! WHAT'S THE ISSUE?? I SEEM TO BE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT! LUKA,PLEASE!'

Luka shook her head again.

'WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME,THEN? I TOOK ALL THE NOTES,I'M BEING NICE! DO I SMELL BAD OR SOMETHING?? JUST TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! WHY WON'T YOU SAY A WORD TO ME?!'

This time,Tsukasa's voice actually sounded angry.

Luka shook her head.

'TELL ME WHY,LUKA!!'

He yelled at her.

Luka went stiff and stared him with wide eyes.

'I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I... B-b-b-b y-y-y- I-I-'

Luka stuttered so hard that Taukasa thought she might combust!

He saw as her breathing got faster and faster,and how she trembled.

'I-I-I-I-I Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-'

Luka trailed off and gasped for breath,her face looked pale.

'L-LUKA?!'

Luka whimpered softly like an injured puppy and darted off.

'L-LUKA,WAIT!'

Tsukasa ran after her,but lost sight of her.

'LUKA?? LUKA!'

he called out for her

He soon found her with Meiko sitting on a bench.

Luka had her head leaning onto Meiko's chest,and Meiko had wrapped her arms around her partner.

'L-LUKA! MEIKO,W-WHAT'S-'

He stopped upon seeing Meiko's glare.

'M-Meiko?'

'She told me everything. Have you ever thought that maybie she doesn't talk to you because you never quiet the fuck down?'

'I-is that really true?!'

'Listen to yourself,Tsukasa! Just take a moment to listen to how loud you can be!'

'I-...'

'You do realize that she's not mute just because of her speech impediment,right? You know half of it is an anxiety issue and selective mutism?'

'I-I guess I didn't...'

'Maybie if you quieted down a little,you would have known that when we explained Luka's disability to everyone. Take a moment to not just think about yourself here. Why did you want her to talk to you? Was it because you wanted to have a conversation with her and start to understand her better,or was it because you were jealous of the others?'

She glared at him.

'I-I guess the second reason...'

Tsukasa kneeled down in front of Meiko,and looked at Luka,who was still crying and leaning onto Meiko's chest. She looked at him shyly.

'Luka... I'm really sorry... I didn't know I was scary to you... I'll try to quiet down more when I'm near you... You don't need to ever say an actual word to me,okay? I'm sorry... Will you give me a second chance?'

Luka just turned her face away into Meiko's chest.

Tsukasa sighed and got up,he didn't make eye-contact with Meiko,who was still glaring at him.

That night,Tsukasa stayed up until an ungodly hour of the morning,determined.

The next morning,after class,he traveled into the Sekai

He felt a tap on his shoulder as soon as he entered.

He turned to see Luka,he looked down at her

20. Akito Shinonome

I'm just not a fan of his vocals tbh. Like they're not bad they're ok. However he sounds fine in cinema and hitsuji ga ippiki. He was also fine in ame to petra

19. Toya Aoyagi

I like his voice slightly more than Akito. He sounded really good in AnToya children record and ToyaHane junky night town with Kohane. His ame to Petra cover was fine, probably my favourite solo of his, and he sounds fine in cinema and hitsuji ga ippiki.

18. Nene Kusanagi

I'd rather listen to Nene then these two however I'm not the biggest fan of her voice. Random note, when her VA was singing live my immediate reaction was "wow that is Nene's voice coming out of her mouth." but anyway Nene is too nasally for me. She sounds fine in her alts I guess, but again her voice is very nasally. However she sounds amazing in glory steady go and Goodbbye sengen with wxs. She's higher than Akito and Toya because I think she adds to the song when she's singing with everyone and when she's singing with Emu

17. Tsukasa Tenma

I like his Literary nonsense cover more than Rui's. However that's the only cover I'd buy. Not bad but not the best. Like Nene he adds to the vocals with the group and him and Rui make a pretty good duo when they sing together ex: fixer, Literary nonsense. Listening to Mr showtime reminded me why I put him here. He doesn't always sound great by himself. (However all his commissioned songs are bangers for no reason) also you should all listen to his cover of the world hasn't started yet with Emu it's really good

16. Rui Kamishiro

I like Rui's voice. His as you like it cover was one of the first ones I got (the wxs group as you like it wasn't that good) and it's good. Unlike Nene and Tsukasa and the others he sounds pretty good on his own and with the others. However he doesn't like, I don't want to say have the range, but Tsukasa's nonsense bungaku cover was better because he was able to sound clear and bring energy to it. Rui doesn't have the same energy Kasa does and sometimes he doesn't have the clarity which is why his voice is more suited for songs like fixer

15. Minori Hanasato

I almost put her higher than Emu. I like Minori's voice. It's bright and cheerful and idol like. I like her ai no material she sounds absolutely adorable. And her vampire is very nice too. I don't think she deserves 20-18th place on ranking charts however there are better vocals which is why she rounds out our bottom five. I love you Minori so I'm sorry

14. Emu Otori

Emu my baby! Honestly I want to put her higher but I can't. I actually love Emu's vocals a lot. They're always so fun and high energy. Her singing is amazing because HOLY FUCK THAT IS HIGH PITCHED. I understand the grievances about how her voice can get grating but that's only if you listen to it for like, an hour non stop. Also we all talk about her telecaster B-boy cover but never her the world hasn't started yet cover with Tsukasa. She goes lower than in telecaster and it sounds so nice like?! It's SO good. And her positive dance time cover is amazing as well and we gotta talk about her alien alien cover. Best one I've heard. Her voice doesn't go crazy high but she still has all that Emu energy. I think I've bought more covers of her than any other character tbh

13. Kohane Azusawa

Listening to Akina's covers honestly helped put Kohane this high and made me enjoy her voice more. Her voice is similar to Minori's but she goes higher because her voice has this soft like quality (her into the night cover) and it's evolved a lot since the beginning. She sounds great in hitsuji ga ippiki (I may have a slight obsession with this song) and in most songs. I love Akina's overdose cover and I'd describe her voice as lovely. Also her rapping in wa-wa-world is very fun

12. Airi Momoi

I like Airi's voice. Her Romeo to Cinderella cover is great and one of the first I bought in the game but her real MVP alt is marshmary. She goes so high and it sounds so amazing I don't think a lot of people could pull that off. Her voice is kind of a mix of Minori's and Haruka's in the sense of it's high but has this grounding feel to it. But this is as high as she goes because there are other voices I enjoy more

11. Honami Mochizuki

I love all of Honami's covers. Yes, even her Stella cover. I actually re-listened to it today (along with other characters) and I enjoyed it. Her voice is amazing (all of l/n is actually) and like, it's so warm and soft. It's like Kanade's in that sense. Speaking of Kanade

10. Kanade Yoisaki

Kanade you'll always be famous. Her covers are so good. Most emotional voice in project sekai. There's so much pain in her reborn alt and her MKDR cover OMFG- it sounds like she's going to cry it's amazing. Her hated by life itself cover was so good the Devs gave her the full song to sing by herself. People complain she doesn't have enough power in her voice but her voice isn't supposed to be powerful the may Mizuki or An's is. It's soft but delivers emotion. Also her composing the future is the closest thing you'll get to power from her

9. Mafuyu Asahina

I LOVE Mafuyu's voice. Like Kanade's voice it tends to be soft, and carries emotion at times. (Also Mafuyu has the best event songs) also her voice is so haunting. Like her cutlery cover just sounds very haunting. I'm sorry but that's the best way to describe her voice. It's soft and haunting. However that doesn't mean it doesn't have power. Ussewa and bug are two prime examples of this. It starts off soft but changes to powerful and it's so good

8. Saki Tenma

Saki's voice is so unique to everyone else's! Or at least I find that to be the case. (also has the best event songs) and her from Tokyo has so much energy it's like sunshine and rainbows and makes me want to cry in a good way. Her voice is sunshine and she does this thing with her voice making everything sound so clear and lovely. I just love her voice, she doesn't have a bad cover. Also I find her teratera cover interesting because I think (?) It's not supposed to be a happy song but the way she sings it is like, the way you'd sing a happy song but doesn't have the emotion behind it. Lmao sorry that's weird

7. Shiho Hinomori

I love Shiho's voice. No bad covers. She has a very strong voice that's low most of the time but can go high. And yes I like her Stella cover. But her kagerou daze cover is amazing and her cover of lost ones weeping as well. I like her voice and I know why people want her to be the main vocalist of Leo/need.

6. Ichika Hoshino

Listening to six trillion years and overnight story as I type this. Ichika slayed actually. She sang fast and clearly and her voice is very pleasant to the ears. She it's "nothing special" but I like it a lot. Sure her voice was high in lost one's weeping and bokura mada underground but I still think it's good. Also her night sky patrol of tomorrow cover was absolutely amazing

5. An Shiraishi

I've loved her voice since forever. Her beat eater cover was fire (and made me extra gay) her Odo cover is everything and i love how she sounds in machi, beat eater, awake now, hitsuji ga ippiki just I love her singing voice it's so An. It's unique, it's good, it's power just <3 and how she sounds in pheles is everything. So much so any time the bad dogs cover anything, my immediate reaction is "It would be better if An sang." I hate to not put her higher however this is top five and I can't have that much character bias. I do have VA bias tho lol. Jiena's cover of ifuudoudou also made me gayer lol.

4. Ena Shinonome

I love her voice and Va. I love her belting in infinitely grey, I love the way she sounds in MKDR and her lower alt is amazing. Ena is an singer and that's way she's so high (and bonus points because I like Minori Suzuki's junky night town cover) also Ena sounds good with everyone

3. Shizuku Hinomori

Shizuku's voice is soft and elegant. The best way I can describe it is her wedding card. It's soft in Shojo rei, powerful in the earth's final confession and into the night, cute in metamo re:born and emotional in color of drops. the way she sings is seamless and beautiful I could listen to it forever. Also her solo of milk crown on sonncheka is everything

2. Haruka Kiritani

I was debating on whether or not Shizuku should be here or Haruka, but I decided Haruka because her voice is stronger, she's clearer. I also find she has greater range and her voice is grounded. Like Shizuku she can sound cute, powerful, emotional, beautiful. Also her If alt vocal is everything to me. But yeah, I think Haruka only sounds slightly better than Shizuku

Mizuki Akiyama

Mizuki is every positive thing I've said about Haruka but like, 10x better. Mizuki is easy to hear, understand and they sound fucking amazing. They can do soft like Kanadetomosusora and give me your night. They can sing fast like in venom and they sound both masculine and feminine like in lower. Also their ussewa alt went SO hard. they sang so well in venom with and without Ena. Also their high notes. Example? Otome dissection. Bocca Della verita. No matter what they sing they sound amazing. Their voice is also very distinct. Tbh just listen to their venom alt it's so amazing
