My HL/HP headcanons/theories

I’m curious to see what some of you guys think of these. In no particular order:

Anne was cursed sometime between the spring holidays of fourth and fifth year. The game doesn’t make the timeline clear, but it makes sense to me that they would’ve spent all summer trying to find a cure only to find nothing.

Ominis is madly in love with Anne. She definitely trusts him, but it’s unclear if she knows of his feelings during fifth year. He’s had feeling for her since sometime in fourth year, though he was too shy to say anything.

Gaunt Manor will eventually come to be owned by the Riddle Family once a chain of events starts the House of Gaunt’s fall from grace and into poverty.

The “wealthy owner” of the Riddle House in the HP books could be Ominis (or Sebastian if Ominis is no longer alive). Wouldn’t it be one last f-you to his family to own the home that used to belong to them?

I don’t know the origin of this theory but Anne could be Astoria Greengrass’ ancestor, her curse having become a blood curse. Astoria starts exhibiting symptoms in her late teens, around the time when Anne would’ve been cursed.

Twins in the WW universe are connected by a sort of natural blood magic, allowing them to sense one another to some degree.

Noctua, Ominis’ aunt, was a Gaunt by blood and marriage. She married a cousin and died childless.

Ominis has two older brothers, one of whom is Marvolo, and one younger sister. There were more children who didn’t survive.

Mrs. Gaunt, Ominis’ mother, is a rare marriage from outside of the family due to lack of cousins from years of inbreeding.

The cottage in Feldcroft belonged to Solomon, not the twins’ parents. The house their parents died in had a cellar, so I suspect there is/was another house, likely in southern England based on their accents.

Sebastian planned to sacrifice himself for Anne, which is why he went to the catacomb alone.

The relic and/or the spell book were influencing him somehow, which is how he ended up getting a bit sidetracked instead.

Albus Dumbledore can wield ancient magic, but he can’t see it, much like 3/4 of the Keepers.

here's some of my gen1/gen2 stuff! the ones in my hand i legit got from pokemon branded poptart boxes when i was a kid. when i say pokemon was everywhere i mean everywhere lol

i would kill to own even half of these...!! i have a much older brother who was there as a child for pretty much the entirety of pokemania (he's not into pokemon anymore, he fell out of it as soon as gen 2 was over) but as a result we had a few of these toys lingering around the house for some years, like that pikachu raising one arm with a white muzzle in the bottom left of the first picture hahaha, and i'm sure some other ones too... like i think we had some fake gold pokemon cards from a mcdonalds or burger king promotion? i'd have to google what that promotion was. though i'm not sure what ever happened to them. the only relics of this era still sitting in our house are the first pokemon movie on VHS, and our brother's old N64 and stadium/snap games, which are now mine! oh, and his original blue/red carts too. though as a child we had no idea that blue or red were in our house and our first game still ended up being leafgreen... ww

Day 2: Crown (12 Days of Writers Self Love)

I couldn’t decide which of two ideas I wanted to do more, so I did them both! Apologies if this got a little long. I really did enjoy writing these, this challenge is turning out wonderfully! Many thanks to @writeblrfantasy for creating it!

1. HC Season 8, White Wings AU

Tommy had seen many crowns in his lifetime.

The gem-encrusted crown of the SMP, first worn by Eret, and then George.

Ranboo’s humble diadem, studded with rough-cut rubies and emeralds mined by hand from the depths of the earth.

The golden spikes adorning the top of Sam’s Warden armor, fused to the mask he had worn more and more often.

Techno’s simple golden circlet, twin to Phil’s silver one, relics of an empire long past.

But he had never worn one of his own before now.

False measured out a length of copper wire before presenting it to Tommy with a wink. “It’s easier if you start with this.”

Gem taught him how to weave stalks of grass together, how to twist and braid the fragile stems around the wire until they formed something resilient, stronger. Something complete.

Stress regaled him with the meanings of different flowers, what made them grow the best, which ones were good for tea or scents or dyes. Under her careful eye he worked Queen Anne’s lace, lavender, daffodils, and yellow orchids into the strands of his masterpiece.

Iskall chuckled as he swept a lock of Tommy’s ivory hair away from his eyes. “Ready?” He asked, his organic eye twinkling with warmth as it darted around Tommy’s face. Tommy nodded, expression implacable, and Iskall placed the completed flower crown gracefully among his curls. The Swede examined his handiwork for a moment, tucking hair or flowers into place, before nodding in satisfaction.

Iskall picked up his own creation from the ground beside him, sporting purple asters and orange orchids, and crowned himself with a flourish. Tommy tilted his head, judging through squinted eyes. After a few seconds a small smile rose to his face, and he nodded in approval. It's good. I like it, he signed.

A small noise made them both turn to where Xisuma was seated on the soft grass, his crown of blue bellflowers and pink dahlias resting crookedly on top of his helmet. He was struggling to right it, but the mechanical axolotl gills on either side of his visor made it so that the woven headress kept slipping. “I guess I’m just not made for crowns,” he said good-naturedly when he noticed them looking, giving up the fight and leaving the flowers slightly off-kilter.

Perfect, Tommy signed to him, and the admin let out a surprised laugh. “Perfect? I suppose it does suit me. I’m a bit of derp even on the best of days.”

Tommy leaned back, and let the sun hit his face. Laughter danced in the wind as the Hermits delighted in the carefree summer day. He had never felt so far and yet so close to home.

Kingmaker. That’s what they called him.

Ren rolled the chess piece between his fingers, relishing the weight of the solid obsidian. It made a satisfying clack as he placed it back in its spot on the board. The black queen.

If he was the king, the ruler over the entire Hermitcraft server, then Bdubs would be his queen. He certainly wielded enough power; it was through Bdubs’ support alone that Ren won the crown. Bdubs was the one who built the Crastle for him, who was his advisor, defender, friend. His second-in-command, his right… hand….

Ren frowned, unease rising in his gut, a sudden chill burning the tips of his fingers. He curled his hands into fists on reflex. Something wasn’t right.

He rose from his throne with a growl and swept down the stairs from the royal dais, his cape billowing out behind him. His paws made no noise on the plush carpet running down the center of the throne room, keeping away the chill of solid stone.

“Sir BdoubleO? Your king summons you!” Ren called, his voice echoing through the empty stone halls. He waited a few moments, but only silence answered.

“Bdubs? Where are youuuuu….” His words bounced eerily off of the cavernous ceilings, echoing back as if mocking him. He hesitantly ventured down a hallway, turned, and was faced with an identical hallway. He followed it, but that only yielded another similar looking passageway. The next was almost exactly the same. And the next. Ren frowned. He hadn’t remembered there being quite this many corridors in his Crastle.

He followed more turns, traversed more corridors, calls going unheard and unanswered, until he realized he was well and truly lost. Ren stopped at a four-way intersection, glancing down each hall. They all felt familiar, but was that because they looked the same or because he truly recognized them?

Ren pulled his cloak tighter around himself, shivering. And when had it gotten so cold? He needed to tell Bdubs to install some sort of heating system in the castle, like magma blocks behind the walls or something. These were not livable temperatures, certainly not for a king.

Ren’s breath had begun to fog the air by the time he reached something that certainly didn’t belong: a set of arched glass doors, metalwork spiraling intricately across their frosted surface. The metal handles were bitterly cold, but they turned without protest as he pushed the double doors open.

Beyond lay a courtyard, dead branches hanging like corpses over flowerbeds full of dried leaves. A few inches of snow was dusted over everything in sight, drifting heavily in the corners and on the trees. Ren’s trepidation spiked. It was supposed to be summer on the Hermitcraft server, after all. And the Crastle didn’t have an interior garden.

He stepped out into the courtyard, bracing himself against the freezing gusts of air. His royal cape was woefully equipped to protect him from the full wrath of a winter’s wind. The harsh blasts died down into a biting breeze as he neared the center of the courtyard, snow crunching beneath his paws. Ren scarcely minded the cold as he stared wide-eyed at the centerpiece of this unnatural display.

A large stone altar rose from the ground, more of an elevated platform than anything else. Ren ascended its steps, captivated by the rough, indecipherable runes hewn deep into the surface. Lines had been cut straight across the top slab, radiating out from a shallow, bowl-like indentation at the middle. Blood channels, Ren realized with a growing horror. Blood channels that had clearly already been used.

A sudden growl had him tensing, ears lying flat and lips pulled back into a snarl. The sound seemed to emenate from every corner of the courtyard at once, circling as one would stalk prey. It was more than a threat. This was the hunting call of a predator.

Ren scanned the courtyard wildly, but there was nothing to see except a slate-gray sky bordered by gargoylic crenelations and the first few flurries of snowfall. The rumbling grew louder and louder, until the very air trembled before it. Oh, little wolf, the voice purred, smugly satisfied and impossibly deep.

“Who are you?” Ren shouted at the sky, hating the way his voice had gone high-pitched with fear.

The voice merely chuckled, the sinister whisper of a blade pulled from its sheath. Winter is coming, it intoned. And the crown weighs heavy.

Ren spun in place, breaths coming sharp and cold biting at his lungs. The voice was crushing him from all sides, pushing him down to his hands and knees on the cold, stone altar.

And Ren woke in his royal bedchambers, gasping for air and sheets soaked in sweat. His hands didn’t stop shaking for the rest of the day.

Lucius is the king of the Wildland Kingdom, though he inherited his royalty at an age where he could not control his kingdom. His parents and twin sister were assassinated when Lucius was very young, and his mother’s attendant, Druik, quickly seized control over the kingdom when this opportunity arose. 

Even now, when Lucius is more than capable of ruling his kingdom, he has no control over his kingdom due to Druik’s control. Lucius’ father waged war against the Forest Kingdom for reasons the kingdom no longer knows, but Lucius seeks to end the war even if it means his own surrender.

My favorite feast day as a child, & as an adult the day I celebrated with friends in my home. The day of pineapples, nuts, clementines, coconuts, hard candy, and chocolate. No shoes, we put out wooden salad bowls. My fellow pre-novices called it St Mickalos Day. My neighbors in Brooklyn were Italians who arrived from Bari after WW II. The holy relics of St. Nicholas are lying in the crypt (underground level) of the Basilica of St. Nicholas in the city of Bari, Italy located on the shore of the Adriatic Sea. Although this Basilica belongs to the Roman Catholic church & is managed by the monks of the Dominican Order, priests of different Christian confessions are allowed to offer services in the crypt. In 1071 the city of Bari, an important trading port & capital of Byzantine Italy, was conquered by the Normans & lost its economical & political role. The people of Bari decided to go to Myra of Lycia in Asia Minor (presently a territory of the province of Antalya, Turkey) to retrieve the relics of St. Nicholas. They hoped that the holy relics of the most venerable saint in Byzantine would help to restore the authority & popularity of the city. In addition, St. Nicholas always was the patron of sailors & merchants. Many Italian historical sources explain that the main reason for this act was to protect the relics from the Turks who were controlling this part of Asia Minor at that time. It’s also known that Venice & Bari were competing to be the first to own the relics of St. Nicholas. In 1087, 62 sailors from Bari headed to Myra. Disguised as pilgrims, they hid their swords & knives under their clothes, approached the tomb, opened it, & took out the relics which exuded myrrh. Despite the resistance of the monks who were guarding the tomb, the sailors were able to transfer the stolen relics to the ship. In May 1087 the ship reached the shores of the city of Bari which initially planned to place the relics in the city's cathedral but later decided to build a special chapel. Construction of the chapel started in June 1087. Hello! i have worms in my brain and this is all the trigger they need to rant about zelda lore,

The light temple has only appeared 2 (ish) times in the timeline to my knowledge, and the main one is in oot, and due to cuts to the game* the only actual room of it we get to see is the chamber of sages, which oot Rauru states is the "Very center of the sacred realm"

"I am Rauru, one of the ancient Sages... Ages ago, we ancient Sages built the Temple of Time to protect the entrance to the Sacred Realm... This is the Chamber of Sages, inside the Temple of Light... The Temple of Light, situated in the very center of the Sacred Realm, is the last stronghold against Ganondorf's evil forces. The Master Sword--the evil- destroying sword that you pulled out of the Pedestal of Time--was the final key to the Sacred Realm. Link... Don't be alarmed... Look at yourself...!"

(Which kind of implies that the temple of light is a mirror of the temple of time just inside the sacred realm), and we do know that the temple of time was built by Rauru ontop of the ruins of the Temple of Hylia from skyward sword (Hyrule Historia/Loz Encyclopedia)

And also the Deku Tree's speech from oot kind of implied that the sacred realm is just a side effect of the triforce existing? like the relic is so powerful the point in which it rested on earth warped around it into a whole different realm

The second is kinda iffy and is the Temple of Time dungeon in tp, which is canonically the temple of time but spiritually is the cut temple of light from oot (or even just the fandom rumors of said cut dungeon-), literally walking past the master sword pedestal into it and all

Ganondorfs wish from the heros defeat branch isn't to make the sacred realm into the dark realm, he actually transforms it 7 years prior when Link leaves the door of time open behind him and lets Ganon get into the sacred realm,

He tried to make a wish but apon his touch the triforce split into three because his heart was unbalanced (kinda rude if you ask me, ss link i could see as having a balanced heart because he forged his soul with all three of the virtues but no fucking way the king from ww has a balanced heart, me thinks the triforce added a rule cause it didnt want to grant the stinky mans wish) , and so he used the triforce of power to become the ruler of hyrule and mess it up for 7 years, the sacred realm becomes the dark realm because the sacred realm reflects the heart of whoever enters

Its why hes hunting down Zelda and Link, to get the other two pieces and get his wish

We don't know what he wished for but we do know that it resulted in him turning into Ganon and being unable to turn back into a Gerudo for the rest of that timeline, and that the Sages plus Zelda couldn't defeat him, only seal him in the sacred realm (which you know, only lead to a short time of peace before people got greedy and fought to get at the sacred realm/triforce not knowing that its now the dark realm, which is named the imprisoning war and then the king of hyrule makes the new sages, the ancestors to the maiden in lttp, seal the realm entirely so noone may enter or leave, insert plot of lttp here)

I personally am a "Botw/totk are the merged ending of every timeline set hunderds of thousands of years in the future and the flashbacks in totk are still miles in the future not time travelling to ss / mc / oot" believer and generally prefer the my other dimensions to be other dimensions and not just "the sky islands are the scared realm/the depths are the dark realm"

i do love the funny implication (and pain from loz map lore people) that if its the ruins of that temple of light then totk has two places where the temple of hylia/temple of time are supposed to be and they are miles away from both each other and in relation to where they should be by previous maps lmao

*The theory is that if there was a temple of light it was scrapped pretty early on, most of the evidence we have is the light medallion and the light trial in Ganon's castle, also generally the idea of you getting the medallion without a temple beforehand, we do know from various leaks but mainly the gigaleak that the medallions were supposed to be equippable items to be used like the three spells in the current game and that the light medallions use was to light up an area

if it did exist it was probably had a redirecting light/mirror theme that was reused for the spirit temple (which funnily enough the current spirit temple colour scheme kinda matches this screenshot of a very early temple of time) and was most likely a temple like the tower of the gods in windwaker

i am alot more skeptical now of its existence after getting hella into look up stuff from the giga leaks and look at peoples modded recreations of early areas but god is it an interesting lore idea that makes me mental thinking about it even potentially existing in some way in totk Sources: Hyrule Historia, Loz Encyclopedia, Loz Arts and Artifacts (Not used i just wanted to complete the trio), An Oot Text Dump, A Good Overview of the various beta oot stuff found and last but not least Zelda Dungeon My Beloved
