Andrea Arnold's Wuthering Heights was made on a budget of a B-list indie musician's music video and a dream and yet, they are the only Wuthering Heights' adaptation to date that actually read the text and put in the effort to cast a Brown man for Heathcliff. They actually reached out to the UK Romani community to see if they could hold auditions.

Would you recommend Wuthering Heights 2011, besides the Crimes of cutting the second part? After the recent shitshows I'm very curious to try it

I have only skim-watched it in 2015 so I can’t say much.

As far as I can remember it was visually interesting and not the worst adaptation of Wuthering Heights, but is it worth watching? I don’t know, I didn’t really care for it.

Decided to watch "Wuthering Heights" (2011) because I've seen people say it's a good adaptation...

Good day to remind myself that people lie on the Internet.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad film, but it's absolutely not a good adaptation. They managed to make a 2 hours film and still cut half of the story ? Incredible, truly. I don't really see the point of adapting a very famous revenge story and completely remove the revenge part of it ? I'm so confused...

Anyway, I think I'll just re-read the book.

Jesus Christ, nothing shows to you how unusual and challenging Cathy Earnshaw is as a heroine more than watching the average adaptation of Wuthering Heights. I don't think I've seen one yet where they didn't neuter her.
