TIMING: Late August LOCATION: The Pines PARTIES: Gael (@lithium-argon-wo-l-f and Mateo (@fearhims3lf SUMMARY: One of the nights preceding the Blue Moon, a restless Gael stumbles into Mateo when a yeth hound finds both of them CONTENT WARNINGS: None!
Night time with a full stomach and no job on the docket was the worst. Bars were getting boring, and there was no way making a phone call to a family member was an option. Eleven at night was simply too late, and Mateo knew how dramatic his mother was. She was likely to think a disaster happened, and convincing her otherwise was way too taxing.
So, instead, Mateo, opted to jump around Wicked’s Rest until he found a suitable patch of grass to lay in. He settled in, arms behind his head, and sighed. The night was calm and welcomed its child of darkness happily. Only thing, Mateo was only one of many, and there was one lurking about. The mare shot up at the snap of a twig, watching the treeline carefully and ready to flee at a moment’s notice.
—
This whole ‘having a surplus of energy’ thing was getting old fast. Gael wasn’t even, like, anxious. He was just full of energy that seemed to come and go in pulses. He’d developed the quick habit of taking walks during the evenings now, going for a jog, trying not to stick his head into the nearest trash can or follow some unfamiliar scent… which was what he was doing now. Under a few different impressions and with the nagging feeling that he really should’ve tried to do something about it, Gael was literally following his nose. Whatever it was smelled dead but he wasn’t sure if he’d ever be able to tell the difference between a dead squirrel or a bird. He wasn’t sure how far he got when the smell seemed to turn from decay into… decidedly not that, instead smelling like something from a store. Shampoo or body wash or something, obviously, though he couldn’t decipher what it was. Clumsily, he stepped out from the treeline where he saw what appeared to be a man sitting up and looking right at him. “Oh!” Gael called. “Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was out here,” He added quickly as he held his hands up to indicate that he meant no harm.
—
Oh. Just…a guy? He was cute enough, but maybe a little too sweet for the mare’s liking. Although, the fact that he was out and about at night in a place like Wicked’s Rest, did raise a few alarms. No normal person would do such a thing. Not unless they felt perfectly capable and comfortable taking on whatever decided to lurk in the darkness. Mateo narrowed his eyes suspiciously at the man, his train of thought spiraling toward the idea of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. One could never be too careful, he thought. Especially when he had to worry about things like hunters.
“Oye,” Mateo began, sizing up the stranger behind his sunglasses, “What’re doing out here anyway? Got a death wish or you can handle yourself out here?” He figured being forward was a good strategy. All cards on the table, so to speak. If he gave away that he knew about the darker side of Wicked’s Rest, then maybe, just maybe, the man would give something away too. Next step would be the eyes. Glowing red orbs always seemed to startle even the biggest dude. “And look, I know it probably looks just as weird if I’m out here too, but I asked first.” Ever the petulant man when it came to arguments and games. “So, by the rules, you gotta answer fir—” Snap! Growl! “Ah, shit…” Mateo hissed, looking around to see what trouble the man in front of him was getting him into. Was this an ambush? It was hard to tell, but given that the monstrosity that began to prowl looked at both men with intent, Mateo was inclined to believe they were both in danger. Still, he had to joke. “So, uh…is that your dog? He’s kinda…ugly.”
—
Gael’s gaze was met with one he guessed to be suspicion, which was understandable given the environment and how he had just tumbled out of the treeline - it seemed like the perfect introduction between a protagonist and the perceived evil from a Stephen King novel. “What? I was just taking a walk.” He replied, pointing over his shoulder as though the forest would back him up on that claim. Even as he answered though, he could feel his head shaking slightly as though to deny any unspoken allegations that the stranger could’ve thought at him. Granted, the stranger sure seemed more capable of taking care of himself going by what he was wearing; the last person who dressed similarly was Owen and Gael knew he was a fighter. His ears picked up the stranger’s accent first and despite having demands hurled at him, he couldn’t keep himself from tilting his head. “Oh, would you prefer–” His own question was cut short, however, when a different sound cut through his thoughts and he turned his head sharply in the direction of what sounded like growling. There was an animal there? How had Gael not heard it before? Hastily, he stepped out from the tree line where his dark eyes picked up– “Nope. Nope that’s not mine I don’t own a dog and if I did it wouldn’t be THAT one.” He took a step back, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end as the two men were abruptly confronted with the terrifying visage of a large dog with what appeared to be an exposed skull of a head and several tentacles sprouting from its back, twitching and furling in the dead air absently. “...Yours?” The shudder was evident in his tone but he didn’t want to seem like a complete coward in front of this stranger.
—
“Yeah, whatever.” Mateo rolled his eyes dramatically, wishing he could be alone once more. Now there were two visitors and any hopes for a calm night with his trusty headphones fled away. He blew air between his lips, annoyance escaping him petulantly. The icing on the cake were the arms he crossed, expression devoid of any amusement.
Of course the dog wasn’t his, why the hell would he ask if it was the stranger’s in the first place then? “No, fool. You dumb or something?” He barked out, ignoring the stupid dog trying to taunt them into a corner. Mateo tutted to himself. He had created far worse monstrosities. Whatever the monster was, the mare wasn’t fazed, but it wasn’t like he was a charitable guy. This was the second stranger within a month to lead a damn creature to him while he was minding his business, and for that, Mateo wanted a little revenge. A little trick! “I think that thing is yours now, though.” A smile formed on his lips, and he stood up, brushing away any residual dirt and grass so it wouldn’t get into his apartment. “I’d name him Cujo or something.” Mateo patted the man’s shoulder, feigning friendship just before he blinked away into nothingness. He landed in his apartment, laughing to himself. The picture of the random dude thinking he was abandoned while fearing for his life was always a good prank. It almost made Mateo want people to keep leading monsters to him, only to disappear and return with a strategy and a few weapons. He’d wait a few beats before he made his return. That made for maximum funniness, always.
—
He could’ve been dumb. Considering what town he found himself in and all the strange characters that surrounded him now, Gael might’ve been the dumbest person in town. And he certainly felt dumb as he kept his wide, dark eyes on the growling, hissing beast as the tentacles slithered around it, snaking through the air and creating a slimy noise that he really wished he weren’t hearing, especially at that moment. Gael was so focused on the large creature that when he felt the stranger’s hand on his shoulder, all but missing what the man had actually said, he visibly jumped with a sharp inhale. From what he could gather, filtered through the fear that he tried to smother in his mind, the stranger didn’t really take much seriously and what was more, he didn’t seem to be afraid at all. The professor, wanting to use the other man as something of an anchor of solidarity that he wasn’t alone, started to turn to regard the other man when suddenly the weight of the hand on his shoulder disappeared. The man stumbled, clearly not expecting that and the look on his sunken face could only be described as ‘completely confused and definitely not at all afraid’. “Okay!” Gael attempted to recover himself, breathing deeply. “I was here with a guy and the guy… .phased out of existence and there’s a giant dog with tentacles and an inverted skull.” He spoke quickly, trying to keep his tone even though he couldn’t stop it from rising with emotion. “Okay Gael, think about it for a second.” He gulped, taking another shaky step back as the demonic hound advanced slowly. “You know how this looks and sounds?” He asked himself, apparently thinking that now was a good time to literally talk himself through whatever was happening. “You’ve lost your mind.” He came to the conclusion. “If you just… Okay, so the guy was here and he disappeared. Strange shit’s been happening in town.” As though to confirm it, Gael felt another pulse of energy tear through him. “Including you. This is obviously just… your brain trying to create problems and likely scenarios.” His leg caught on something as he was stepping back and he crashed to the ground unceremoniously. “Oh come ON.” He shouted through pained grunts as he landed on his back, feeling a sharp stab course up his spine where the scar tissue that stretched across his lower spine interacted with whatever he tripped on.
—
Gathering his brand-spanking-new bat from the closet, which was next to a few extra (just in case creature fighting became a habit), Mateo twirled it in his hands, retrieving a random book as well. He hummed to himself, sauntering about his apartment and throwing in a piece of bread into his toaster. After that, he went to his safe and input the code, opening it and retrieving a pistol and grenade. It came in handy last time, didn’t it? Mateo hoped he’d be able to use it again. The toast sprang up and the mare snatched up and held it between his teeth as he blinked back into the space where he left the stranger. He was careful to land himself a few feet away, behind some brush, to coordinate a little better. The man was mumbling to himself, and Mateo had to stifle laughter as he munched on the piece of dry toast. It always paid to have a snack while you watched a show, right? When the guy fell though, that’s when Mateo couldn’t help but laugh, giving away his position. Oops. It was showtime then. “Hate to tell you, chico, but…” He twirled his bat, finishing the last of his toast. “You ain’t lost your mind. Not yet.” Mateo grinned, patting the bat against his newly freed hand. Chuckling again, he walked toward his acquaintance, gait a little too relaxed when there was a dangerous creature nearby. He offered a hand, forcing the guy to get to his feet so the fight could be just slightly more fair. “Name’s Mateo. Use this.” He gave him the book from his vest with a shrug. “Saw John Wick use this to kill once.” —
He wasn’t sure how long he was on the ground, finding himself slightly set back by the stabs of pain that surged up his spine now accompanied the strange energy that he didn’t like going through his system. Part of Gael relinquished himself to the beast, not content at all but somehow accepting that maybe this was how he was going to die, being shredded apart and eaten by a tentacle dog. Of course, while his mind was trying to come to terms with his impending demise, his body still acted on its own accord and he scooted back on the ground, feeling his sweater picking up loose dirt, twigs and dead leaves that lay on the forest floor. Then he heard a laugh coming from behind him and, in his nerves, he threw his head back to look upside down at whoever it was coming up to him. If it was someone else aggressive… he didn’t want to think about if it was someone else aggressive; he could already feel his fingers extending uncomfortably, trembling slightly as they felt like someone was pulling on the bones under the skin. However, when brown eyes fell upon the abrupt reappearance of the man from before, now brandishing a bat and what looked to be a book, Gael wasn’t… relieved, per se, but at least it wasn’t someone– “Wait, where the hell did you go?” He asked, all but ignoring everything else that the man (now dubbed Mateo) had said, even as he was being pulled to his feet and shoving a - was this a book? - into Gael’s shaking hands. “First you were here and then you suddenly weren’t and– how long have you been listening in on me?” He asked, temporarily all but forgetting the large monstrosity that loomed near them.
—
“Yeah…” Mateo nodded along to the guy’s mild freakout, completely detached and unsympathetic to how overwhelming the whole situation probably was. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. It’s fine. Just a thing I can do, man. Don’t worry about it.” When he appeared to finally be done, Mateo clicked his tongue and waved off his companion while his attention was taken by the fucked up puppy just a few feet away. It growled and snapped, though Mateo remained unfazed by the attempts at aggression.
But as he looked closer, he noticed the dog wasn’t pointing the ‘tude toward the mare. “Huh?” It continued the show, attempting to circle around Mateo, and the closer he got, the more obvious it became that Mateo wasn’t the object of the dog’s fixation. It was the man behind him. The very terrified and babbling man. “Yo, my guy, I think he’s–wait” He looked at the dog, eyes narrowing until he nodded with a smile on his face. “Sorry,” He apologized to the mutt, putting his body between the two to keep the man safe. “What’d you do to make her mad at you?” Kneeling down, the hound seemed to calm a little, almost nuzzling into Mateo. A look of surprise painted over his face, but he was more than happy to accept the affection of a dog for the first time in years. —
So Gael was what most people considered to be a ‘patient person’. He could roll with the punches, casually accept friendly insults and was more than willing to be the butt of a joke. On most days. Now, though, as Mateo was obviously not as worried about whatever this was as Gael himself was, he felt the uncomfortable pulse of energy through his limbs and it balled his hands into fists– well, the one, while the other held the book that was unhelpfully given to him to use as a weapon because Mateo saw it in a movie.
“Just a thing you can do?” He asked, only to get waved off and he felt some of the fear starting to dissipate in favor of frustration, despite the man standing before him who would apparently just… blink out of existence, the dog that was still menacing him and causing the back of his hair to stand on end. Was that even real? Was Mateo real? He felt real, Gael could feel the hand on his, pulling him to his feet. But… Maybe Mateo was just another side effect of whatever he was feeling at the moment. He wanted to say something else, though even now he wasn’t sure what he was going to say when the tentacled dog made its presence known once more and he tensed up, turning his dark, furrowed gaze to the creature with its glowing eyes that bored into him, sending another shiver up his spine. Maybe it wasn’t real. It hadn’t attacked him yet and… Mateo started talking to it. Apologizing to it. “Wh–” He faltered, confusion painting his face. “...What?” He asked incredulously as the other man knelt and started petting it - her?
—
“Yeah, old man. Try not to question it too much. You look…” Looking Gael up and down, Mateo chortled, a bit amused by the nervous and disheveled look the guy was sporting. He blabbered way more than Felix did, and they were pretty good at freaking out. He shrugged, “You look like you need to go home and take a nap.” Taking the nice route wasn’t a common thing for Mateo, but even a man like him could have sympathy. He wasn’t always a monster.
“Ay que linda eres, chulita.” Mateo put his attention back toward the hound, petting her gently and cooing as if she was any normal dog. Quickly, she leaned into his touch, and he exhaled with a bit of disbelief and glee. He wondered if that was what people felt when an animal took to them so quickly and easily. It was a nice feeling, and Mateo forgot all about Gael for a few moments while he decided on a name. “Angel.” He proclaimed, standing up to face Gael. “I think Angel and I have a lot of bonding to do.” She snapped at Gael, growling as if she may attack. Mateo had a feeling she wouldn’t, so he just laughed, crossing his arms with an amused look on his face. “Don’t think she likes you too much, but hey, that’s just me. I think you’re okay even if you should relax a little.” Placing a hand on Angel’s head, he patted her, instantly ending the show of threats. “Never had a dog before, so I guess it’s thanks to you that I get to have one now though. Really appreciate it, chico.” The hound’s tendrils writhed happily coiling loosely around Mateo’s arm as he pet Angel. “You good to get home? I’m gonna take her on a walk.” —
Gael crossed his arms defensively when Mateo called him ‘old’, but he couldn’t deny that maybe a nap sounded good. Even if didn’t feel like he needed, wanted, or could even settle down enough to take a nap, he figured it might’ve been beneficial. Irritation tugged at his mind, just as a jittering feeling, strange sensations that pumped through his veins. Fear, annoyance, fear, empathy, annoyance. The dog snapped at him again which prompted him to take an instinctive step back but Mateo had named the creature Angel and… he seemed to have been getting along with it. Which, ultimately, Gael thought he liked. Angel wasn't on the list of the first ten names he’d have picked for a dog with a skull for a head, glowing eyes or tentacles that furled lazily on its back but… this was why he had Mirabel and Señor at home. There were few things that could compare to the love of an animal and he knew better now that love from anywhere, even an unconventional creature that nuzzled into Mateo’s palm fondly. The sensation solidified as the other man expressed that he’d never had a dog before. He paused, looking at the bizarre scene before him. And though he thought some primal part of him still wanted to recoil, give the creature its space, he also found himself smiling faintly at the duo. “Yeah. I’m good to get home.” He replied casually, dipping his sentence into the Spanish he knew Mateo was fluent in. “You take your girl for a walk; I’m glad you found her.” He said and with the lasting image of the tentacled beast still fresh in his mind but with the label ‘Angel’ attached to it, eliminating some of the fear, Gael put his hands in his pockets and left the two strange beings to themselves.
He wasn’t going to go home, not yet but he could at least be more aware of where he was walking. Ideally to avoid any other weird, possibly freaky creatures out in the woods that evening.

Greed (Gekko x reader x Iso)
Yeah, I know.
But I love them so much. Plus, this one shot is heavily inspired by a dream I had and I wanted to write it down.
Thousand of apologies for the grammar or any eventual error.
Fade had faced many nightmarish situations in her life: she got trapped in a nightmare when her powers first manifested, she had been tracked down by several people who wanted her dead and she was regularly put in deadly situations since she joined Valorant.
“I hate my heart.”
But there was definitely nothing worse than hearing your complaints about your love life.
It had now been thirty minutes that you were groaning and whining in her dorm room, lying down on her bed and your head hanging on the edge.
“Mom was right.” You sighed in a tone that sounded way too dramatic to Fade ears. “I’m selfish and greedy as hell.”
“Why am I even listening to your rambling ?” groaned the Turkish initiator.
“Because I made you coffee.”
Fade wondered where you got all that energy that you used just for complaining. Did your mouth ever run dry ? She should have seen it coming. Since you joined the protocol, you adopted her as your ‘cool older sister’.
Your words, not hers.
You followed her like a happy younger sibling. She wasn't complaining. You brewed the best coffee she had ever tasted and your presence wasn't overwhelming. You respected her space and often gave her those midnight snacks you prepared that she grew fond of.
She liked you a lot. You were like the younger sibling she never had. But goddamn she hated hearing you whining.
“Okay, so let me get this straight,” she threw a pillow at you when you giggled at the word ‘straight’. “You love Gekko.”
“Yes.”
“But you also love Iso.”
“Yes.”
“And there is no way you could decide between them.”
“No way.”
It wasn't that simple. You loved them differently but with the same amount of affection.
Gekko had a sunny personality. He always brought with him that calm and laid-back mood that tended to ease people around him. He was what you liked to call a light-bringer (‘Not like Lucifer’ you felt the need to precise to Fade to which she just raised an eyebrow and rolled her eyes.). The atmosphere of the room could be gloomy and thick with tension, Gekko would always dissipate any negativity. He was a genuine individual and that was a trait that you adored in him.
Iso on the other hand was like the moon (‘or a Teddy bear’ and this time Fade only let out an exasperated sigh.). He looked silently over his friends like a silent protector. Despite his more discreet personality, he never hesitated to offer praises when he could. There was a certain softness in him that always managed to melt your soul.
“They each own a part of my heart.”
Which was quite ironic if one remembered correctly how you met them.
The first time you met Gekko, you almost insulted him.
Cypher was giving you a tour of the base when Gekko appeared on the corner of the hallway and accidentally spilled his boba on your new top. The glare you had thrown at him was so intense that he freezed for a second before apologizing profusely. You had huffed and ignored him and continued your tour of the base. Your top was ruined. No matter how many times you tried to wash it, the stain stubbornly remained. One could not imagine how surprised you felt when, later, you saw a yellow animal-like creature in your room, putting a box with an apology letter on your bed. Inside the box, you had found the exact same top.
As for Iso, the first time you met him, you almost stabbed him. ‘Almost’ thanks to his reflexes.
It wasn’t your fault. Well, not entirely. You were in the shooting range, focusing on your aim when he entered. Tensed and feeling a sudden presence behind you, you pulled your knife out of its sheath and threw it at him. Of course, he easily dodged it with a tilt of his head and a raised eyebrow as your knife planted in the wall behind. You apologized profusely and he had just shrugged and started to train with a sheriff. The rest of the hour had been awkward, especially when you went to retrieve your knife from the wall.
Fade hummed softly. “Okay. But that doesn’t explain why you’re avoiding them.”
A dramatic whine escaped your throat at her words. She watched you roll on her bed, hiding your face in her pillow.
“Everything is fine today, though. Right ?” said Fade. “You didn't hold any grudges against Gekko and neither did Iso against you. You’re even friends with both of them, now.”
You looked up at her with sad puppy eyes.
“Friends,” you repeated with a deflated tone. “I was fine with being friends with them both since I could not date them. There was a good balance. But now…things got complicated.”
Fade was now curious. It seemed like you weren't only being dramatic. Right now, you almost sounded desperate.
“What do you mean 'complicated' ?”
“I mean that the balance is now broken,” you groaned in the pillow. “Do you get that ?”
She definitely didn't. To her ears, your speech was as incoherent as a dream. It was the thing with your rambling : you rarely started chronologically and just blurted the first event that was nagging your mind.
“How did that ‘balance’ break ?” Fade sighed while checking her nails.
“Gekko kissed me.”
She immediately looked back at you. This was getting interesting.
“He what ?”
“On the cheek ! On the cheek ! On the cheek ! On the cheek !” you sat up quickly to precise it. “He kissed me on the cheek.”
Fade blinked. Unbeknownst to you, she already had a slight idea of what was going on between Gekko and you. Neon had been telling her about the Hispanic initiator sometimes sighing on her shoulder for two days.
“And of course you ran away,” she sighed as you let out another whine. “How did that even happen ?”
Your fingers were now fiddling with the pillowcase.
“Well, we were cooking snacks in the kitchen while dancing on his Spotify playlist. He was making crepes, I was making cookies and we were having fun valsing in each other's arms when it happened,” you made a noise between a sad whimper and a sigh of frustration. “Ambar Lucid’s voice can lead to some intense situations, I think.”
“And then you ran away.”
“The best run of my life,” you sighed sadly.
You’ve even been paying Wingman and Dizzy with sweets so they would not snitch whenever they found you.
Fade massaged her temples as she slowly processed what you said. She already knew you could be quite avoidant sometimes. And she also knew you hated being that way.
“What about Iso ?” she asked. “Is your ‘balance’ broken with him too ?”
You grimaced. “Kinda…?”
Fade raised an eyebrow. “Kinda ?”
“Kinda.”
“He kissed you too ?”
You shook your head and rubbed the back of your neck. Fade noticed how flustered you were.
“You know that sometimes Iso helps me perfectionning my aim.”
“Mmhmm,” Fade nodded.
It wasn't uncommon to see you both exiting the shooting range together. It wasn’t a secret that you two were quite close.
“Well, he was very…uhm…cuddly during our last shooting session.”
“Cuddly ?” Fade raised an eyebrow.
“Like, back-hugging me while helping correct my aim…breathing in my neck and murmuring instructions in my ear.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“The balance is definitely broken.”
You let your back fall back against the mattress in a dramatic gesture of helplessness.
“I know !”
“Then what do you plan to do ?” asked the initiator. “You’ll keep avoiding them both eternally ?”
“Well since you don’t want to put me in an artificial coma…” you trailed off, ignoring the deadpanned glare she shot at you.
Fade sometimes thought that your avoidance will bring you more problems than you reckoned. She remembered the regret in Deadlock’s eyes when she spoke about her sisters. Fade really didn’t want you to experience that.
“Talk to them.”
“To tell them what ?” you almost scoffed. “‘Hey ! I have a big fat crush on the both of you and was satisfied with our friendship but your recent actions unsettled the balance I had between your friendship and my feelings so I’m now avoiding you because I’m incapable of confronting my feelings and have a proper conversation about it with you two ?’” you said with a dramatically high-pitched voice.
Fade looked at you with so much exasperation in her eyes that you felt your body wincing in response.
“Well, yes.”
“Hazal, no !”
“Why not ?” she flicked your forehead with her finger and you winced once more. “Communicating your feelings wouldn't be harmful. Getting things off your chest with these two would help you. Don’t you think you’ll miss something if you don’t do anything ? The thing that you avoid you’re giving it power by avoiding it.”
You were about to answer with a snarky remark but the alarm of her phone cut you off. Fade looked at it, sipped the remnant of her coffee then stood up.
“I’m being called for a mission.”
You stood up too and stretched a little.
“Time for you to kick some asses and time for me to run.”
“You mean ‘to talk’ right ?”
You shook your head and walked towards the door.
“Nope !”
You were stubborn and Fade was well aware of that. It was sometimes your greatest quality but in your current situations, it was one of your biggest flaws.
“You—”
Too late, you were already gone. She could hear your quick steps echoing in the corridors. She sighed (again !) and just decided to prepare for her mission while hoping everything will be fine for you.
You kept running in the hallways, avoiding the range because Iso had the habit of training at this hour. You also avoided the corridors leading to the backyards where you knew Gekko had the habit of playing basketball with his buddies and Neon. Why weren't you walking ? Because walking made you easy to see, easy to catch. While running made you all blurry and hard to capture.
You had to survive, to run away. But running away from what ? Embarrassment ? Shame ? Your own feelings ? Whatever that was, your feet led you to the kitchen right in front of the fridge. If you had to survive, it would not be with an empty stomach. Luckily for you, there were still remnants of the cupcakes Clove made the day before. Very colorful, very sparkly, but delicious.
You were eating the cupcakes like a starved rodent when a voice suddenly called you from behind.
“Finally, we found you !”
You jumped a little, startled, then slowly turned around and met the astounded yet amused gaze of Jett and Neon. You silently stared at them for what felt like a few long and heavy seconds before you unhurriedly lifted another untouched cupcake to your mouth and slowly — very slowly chewed it.
Neon awkwardly cleared her throat then took a step forward.
“We…uhm…thought you were with Fade.”
You raised an eyebrow as you licked some icing off your fingers.
“Fade’s on a mission.”
“That explains why you’re here alone,” said Jett with a light chuckle while playfully nudging Neon’s elbow.
You hummed lowly. Were you hanging with Fade that much ? Not surprising. You literally adopted each other once you joined Valorant. You grew so close that come agents thought you actually knew each other way before you joined the protocol.
“You were looking for me,” you said, sizing the two girls. “What do you want from me ?”
The way they were staring at you reminded you of the twins in ‘Shining’. They weren't even blinking. They took a step closer, you took a step farther.
“Please speak,” you sighed. “You two are getting creepy.”
“We need your help,” said Jett.
You raised a skeptical eyebrow at her. Jett usually was too proud to admit these kinds of things.
“Why my help ?” you asked as you took another step farther.
They exchanged a quick glance before looking back at you.
“Gekko—”
“Iso—”
They interrupted each other as your brows furrowed.
“What’s up with them ?” you asked, feeling your body tensing.
They exchanged another glance when they realized they now had your attention. Jett took another step closer.
“They need help because they’re…uhm…”
“Hurt ! They’re hurt,” completed Neon.
You nodded and started speed walking to exit the kitchen.
“Okay. I’ll get Sage.”
Neon quickly stopped you.
“Sage’s on a mission.”
“Then I’ll get Skye.”
“She went back to Australia for her days off,” said Jett.
You stopped a distressed groan from escaping your mouth. Why didn't the protocol have more healers? You were just three. Were you that rare ? Plus, you thought that Sage and Skye were way better healers that you were. More effective and quicker.
“Shit…” you cursed under your breath. “Where are they ?”
“Iso’s dorm.”
You didn't think too much and just ran towards the dorm quarter. Like the worst case scenario machine that it was, your brain started imagining worrying things. Too buried in your dark thoughts, you barely realized that you knocked on Iso’s door. He looked at you with a raised eyebrow then crossed his arms.
“Can I help you with something ?”
Your eyebrows slightly furrowed when you didn’t see any visible injury on him.
“I…”
You cut yourself when you saw Gekko behind him. He looked at you with wide opened eyes, as if not expecting to see you —which was the case. You even saw Wingman, hiding in the corner of the room throwing you an apologetic look. You cleared your throat then looked back at Iso.
“Jett and Neon told me you both were hurt,” you said and you felt yourself internally cringing when Iso’s eyes squinted slightly. “Since neither Sage nor Skye is in the base at the moment, I’m here to heal you.”
“Heal us ?” repeated Gekko as he shared a glance with Iso.
The duelist let you inside the room and slid the door shut behind you.
And then it clicked. Neon and Gekko weren't playing basketball in the base backyard like usual, Jett wasn’t hanging with Yoru and Phoenix, and Iso wasn’t reading nor in the range. You were so worried that you didn't notice how orchestrated this situation felt. You didn't notice that Neon, Gekko’s best friend, did not seem worried at all.
“You’re not hurt, huh,” you clicked your tongue.
Gekko nervously rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward but sad smile.
“We kinda are, though.”
You looked at him with narrowed eyes. The poor initiator was incapable of looking at you in the eyes. Which was not the case of Iso who didn't stop staring at you.
“Are you now ?” you scoffed with sarcasm.
Gekko's eyebrows furrowed at your tone.
“You’ve been avoiding us for—”
“Sit, please ?” Iso interrupted the both of you, still looking at you.
“Why ?”
He tilted his chin in the direction of his bed.
“We have to talk,” he answered simply while taking the chair of his desk to sit on it backward.
“Do we ?” you crossed your arms.
“Please,” you heard Gekko say with a tired tone.
He was already sitting on the bed and was patting the space beside him. You rolled your eyes but reluctantly accepted to sit beside him. You kept eyeing the door and the two agents noticed it. The three of you stayed quiet for what felt like long minutes. You were looking down at your lap, unaware of the long glance the two men were sharing. Then finally, Iso spoke.
“Gekko and I are dating.”
Oh.
“Okay,” you said simply after a few seconds.
Your fists were slowly clenching.
“It’s been a few months now,” Gekko said while rubbing his neck.
You took a deep breath and nodded, still avoiding their eyes.
“Okay,” you said with a neutral tone. “And…?”
That was a plot twist you definitely did not see coming. Why did you feel so betrayed ? What were you expecting from these two ? You wanted to stay friends with them anyway. You felt your nails digging in your palms. Why did you feel so hurt ? Why did you feel so disappointed ?
“And we thought it was fair to tell you.”
You let out a breathy and mirthless laugh.
“Thanks, I guess,” you said, your eyes not leaving the door. “Why are you telling me this ?”
You wanted to walk away from this situation so bad. You needed to. This felt too heavy. You felt a lump in your throat and slowly started to have difficulties breathing but hid it the best you could. Gekko gently grabbed one of your hands and his thumbs gently caressed your palm where your nails were digging in your flesh.
“Because we both fell for you,” Iso said as his hand reached for your face.
His fingers gently brushed the corner of your lips where a few crumbs of cupcakes remained. He noticed your pupil dilating.
“We both spent time with you individually then fell for you,” he continued. “Despite the fact that we’re already dating.”
“So we talked and we wanted to ask you if you wanted to date us,” Gekko smiled nervously. “The both of us.”
You felt your breath hitching as his words slowly reached your brain. You blinked, looked at the duelist, then at the initiator, but you stayed quiet. Iso stood up from his chair to sit beside you and Gekko on the bed.
“Do you hate us ?” he suddenly asked you.
You silently shook your head.
“But you’ve been avoiding us for almost three days !” Gekko said. “We thought we did something wrong.”
Your brows furrowed as you looked where Wingman was hidden. Did he snitch ?
You turned your face back in Gekko’s direction to throw him a very pointed look. As if remembering the kiss from two days prior —which was certainly the case—, he avoided your eyes, a light blush on his cheeks.
“O-Oh.”
“Yeah ‘oh’,” you deadpanned.
“Sorry.”
Iso watched your interaction with calm but curious eyes. He observed your fist clenching and unclenching, how your body was turned towards the door of the room, how your feet fidgeted. His lover and his crush reunited in his room. It was weirdly not unwelcome.
“I suppose your answer is ‘no’”, he said with a neutral tone.
He would feel disappointed and a bit sad if your silence and your breathing wasn’t betraying your own feelings. He and Gekko exchanged a glance, the flame of hope burning in their heart. Gekko gently squeezed your hand in his and sat closer to you.
“Tell us how you feel.”
“What are you ? My therapists ?” you scoffed, not daring to look into their eyes.
“Please.”
And in just an instant, your shell broke. Your shoulders shook slightly, your hand was squeezing Gekko's with strength, and your eyes were on your lap. Exchanging another glance with the duelist, the initiator brought your wrist to his lips to kiss it. Iso, on the other hand, wrapped his arm around your shoulders to hold you against his chest, his lips pressing against your temple. Wingman even came out of his hidden spot to hug your leg. You did not need words. They were already understanding. Yet, you could not help yourself but ask in a shy murmur :
“Am I too greedy if I want you both for myself ?”
You felt Iso chuckling against you.
“Is it a bad thing if we consent ?”
You hummed. He did have a point. Gekko suddenly leaned against you, his arms wrapping around your waist and a hopeful smile on his face. You literally were sandwiched between the two agents.
“So…is it a yes ?”
Flustered by the sudden proximity of your two faces, you cleared your throat and looked away in the direction of Wingman who visibly encouraged you with silly gestures.
“I…guess it is,” you said. “If you still want me.”
“Can I kiss you ?”
You felt very dizzy by his sudden question, your heart beating at a way too fast speed. You felt Iso holding you more firmly against his chest. When you looked up at him, he was smirking down at you.
“Isn’t it my turn ?” his face got closer. “You two already kissed, no ?”
So he knew.
“It was on the cheek !” Gekko retorted. “And do you think I didn't see that kiss on the temple ?”
“What about the one on the wrist you just did ?”
You exchanged a glance with Wingman. He shrugged and you sighed.
“Guys !” you interrupted their playful banter. “Please.”
They both stopped then looked at you.
“Alright,” said Gekko while nuzzling his face against your collarbones. “How about some quality time to begin with ?”
“We have all our time,” said Iso while rocking you from side to side.
Believe it or not, I started writing this in july. Then my brain decided to throw a tantrum again.
Like I said (wrote) before, this one shot is heavily inspired of a dream.
Anecdote : I had this dream where I was an agent of the protocol and was avoiding Iso and Gekko because I felt too awkward to confess to them. I had healing abilities in this dream, and I healed them both after a mission (a pretty hardcore one) before running away in the corridors of the protocol (the exact same corridors we saw in the Neon cinematic). Fade even hid me in her room and let me play with her cat in this dream. Wingman ended up snitching on me, Iso found me and carried me on his shoulder while I was scolding Wingman. Iso then entered in his room (with me still on his shoulder) where Gekko was waiting for us, pouting. I was sat down on the bed and the two agents sat beside me and kissed my cheeks, asking me to not run away from them ever again.
And then...I had to wake up because my sister called me... ಥ‿ಥ
It's fine though, I had a lot of dreams where these two were involved... And when I say (write) a lot of dreams, I mean A LOT.
I even had a dream where Brimstone begged me to date Yoru and Deadlock and I was like 'sure why not'.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this until the end. I wish you a nice day/night.

GEKKO (MATEO) x reader pt.2
pt.1
summary — you and gekko have been officially dating for five months, and you've been. . . thinking about things. from what was once, "he's so strong" when he's carrying something developed into "could he throw me on the bed?". of course, you never knew how to initiate it. do you just ask him? does it just escalate? do you have to plan it all out? those questions have been bothering you for so long that you straight up decided, fuck it, and searched it up on the internet. well, that was one way to get it started.
note — this is my first time writing smut LMAO. this might be extremely mid or decent, but i hope i don't disappoint with this!! i couldn't stop thinking about mateo yesterday so i decided i would start making this today. I ALSO CAN'T LEAVE THE MATEO SMUT TAG HAVE ONLY ONE FIC, on that note go check it out its so fucking good i love it.
w/c — 2.5k
warnings — (bad) smut, oral (f receiving), rough (ish), praise, tones of dumbification, kitchen sex, undertones of dom reader but mostly d. gekko and s. reader
not proofread + i am not responsible for any minors interacting w this post
you were done with it.
you were done waiting for your own confidence to go up just so you could. . . have sex with mateo.
just thinking about it had you red.
now that the two of you had finally moved in together, there was even less of a time that you could just do things yourself without him noticing. before you could masturbate whenever you wanted, as loud as you wanted. now you couldn't risk him hearing out of embarrassment.
it's been five months since the two of you had got together, and not once had either of you escalated past a few brief touches under shirts while kissing. mateo hadn't even seen you naked, or even with just a bra and underwear.
you knew that it would be this way until you did something about it. but the thing is, you don't know how.
and that led you here, legs crossed on your shared bed. you took a deep breath and began typing into the laptop on your lap.
"what the fuck do i even type?" you muttered under your breath.
"how to start sex? no, that sounds weird as fuck. how to get in the mood for sex?" you typed that, and instantly glanced towards the door, feeling as if mateo would walk in at any moment.
you were really picky about what websites you went on. you didn't need a whole porn video, but you also didn't need tips on how to get yourself horny.
researching harder than you do for homework, you didn't realize that the door creaked open.
"hey, chica. are you okay with a sandwich for lunch?" he said, alerting you of his presence.
without thinking, you quickly slammed the lid of the computer shut.
he gazed at you questionably, raising his eyebrow. "what was that?"
"it's nothing," you lied terribly.
his eyes narrowed. he could usually tell when you were lying, and it was obvious.
"but i'd love a sandwich," you tried changing the subject, hoping that he'd take the hint you wouldn't tell him.
"whatever you say, hermosa," he gave you a two-finger salute as he walked out the room.
you sighed in relief and opened the laptop again. so far, you had no luck. you did find some tips, but there was no way you were asking him, "hey, wanna fuck?"
you rubbed your hands against your face and let out a long groan. all this trouble just to ask him to destroy you? you flushed thinking about it.
deciding that you needed a break, you set the laptop down, angling the screen so that it wasn't wide open, but it wasn't quite closed.
you made your way downstairs, walking in the kitchen to see mateo with a big red stain on his shirt.
"holy shit, are you okay?" you ran over to him.
"i'm fine princesa. it's just ketchup. did you think it was blood?" he laughed.
you scowled and grabbed the sandwich on the counter, taking a big bite.
"hey, you're the one who thought it was blood, not me." he put his hands up in defense when you glared at him. "thanks for worrying about me though."
you rolled your eyes, but the smile on your face contradicted your irritated behavior.
"yeah, yeah. but if you're ever covered in blood don't expect me to come running."
"my heart," he pouted as he held his hand to his heart.
"don't you have to go get changed?" you questioned, trying to wipe the puppy-eyed look off his face.
"i probably should. look at you with the big ideas," he left the kitchen after giving you a peck on the cheek.
by the time he'd come back, you were busy washing the plate that you had used. he was silent, so when he wrapped his arms around your waist, you jumped and yelped in surprise.
"holy shit mateo, don't scare me like that!" you splashed him with some water, earning a chuckle.
"my bad chica," he apologized.
he stayed still for a few seconds, before he buried his head in the crook of your neck and start giving you little kisses.
"teo?"you questioned him while your face turned hot.
he hummed in response, continuing to trail open mouthed kisses along your neck. you tried your hardest not to gasp and tilt your neck.
"c'mon mateo, at least let me put this on the drying rack." you didn't trust yourself not to drop the plate and immediately go wild on this man.
that got him to stop, and you quickly put the plate on the rack and dried your hands.
"okay, hermoso. what are you doing?" you faced him, and he immediately caged you in against the counter.
your back hit the curved ledge, and his arms were on either side of you.
"what were you doing?" he asked instead of answering, inching closer.
"what do you mean me?" you were trying to convince yourself that he didn't know what you were doing upstairs, and that instead he was tricking you into saying it.
he didn't reply, but used one of his hands to pull you in, your arms automatically wrapping around his neck.
you'd never get used to how soft his lips were, the routine bite he always does to your lips whenever you make out. but this time was different. there wasn't more passion, but there was another emotion in how he pulls you closer to him
you could feel his smile, and when you pulled away, he had the goofiest grin on his face. his hand trailed up your thigh, stopping right before it got where you wanted it.
"teo," you frowned at him.
"what? is there something you want?" he teased you, inching closer to your core.
you averted your eyes, finding sudden interest in the ceiling. a sudden force tilts your chin back to face him.
"i asked you a question," he cooed.
you looked up at him through hooded eyes, and decided what's the worst that can happen?
you leaned your hips forward and grinded against his waist, letting out one long moan. he quickly stopped you with a harsh grip on your hips.
"does that say enough?" you said cockily.
"you have to use your words, hermosa. maybe i'll reward you."
you were tired of waiting, squirming at how uncomfortable it was in your shorts. from what you could see, he was too with the tent in his pants.
"i need you. i want you so bad." you whimpered, locking eyes with him.
he thought about it.
"what do you want?" he asked, his fingers making their way to your waistband and slowly inching it down your thighs. it left shivers coursing throughout your entire body, even though you felt on fire.
"i just want you. i want you to fuck me until i can't think anymore." you started rambling before you felt a pressure at your entrance.
he slipped a finger inside and curled it, and you slumped forward and found purchase on his shoulders.
"holy fuck mateo," you breathily said. "a little warning?"
"not my fault you weren't paying attention," he chuckled as he inserted another finger.
you've never bothered to use more than two fingers, but when mateo does it, it feels. . . different. you knew that you would never be able to replicate the same feeling that he makes you feel.
you could hear the noises as he went faster, along with the noises steadily pouring out your mouth.
"wait, fuck. . . mateo," you started speaking only to be interrupted by him sliding his fingers out and holding them up.
"damn chica, you're wet as fuck."
you almost died of embarrassment right then and there, but before you knew it, mateo dived between your legs.
you whimpered at his warm breath making contact with your folds, and just how you dreamed of, mateo went straight to work.
"fuck! teo, it feels so good," he hummed in response to your praise, pulling your legs over his shoulders while keeping your legs spread.
you threw your head back, letting out the most pornographic moan you've ever heard as your hand shot to his hair.
little whimpers and moans filled the room as you began to grind against his mouth. usually you'd last a lot longer than this, but either because you had been waiting months for this moment or the fact that mateo was eating you out, you felt something in your stomach tighten.
"mateo, stop, please." you slurred out, trying to use your hand to push him away. but he wouldn't move. he wanted to feel you cum around his tongue, and he stood by that.
he made a little motion with his head, shaking it side to side, still eagerly lapping away at you.
"i wanna cum with you, please i want it so bad." you blurted out, and that caused him to stop. you whined at the sudden cold air. well, he couldn't exactly pass up that offer, huh? especially when you begged so nicely and deperately.
"you always know what to say, chica," he grinned as he began unbuckling his pants.
"well, i didn't know what to say for it to come to this." you didn't know a single word that could've cause this to happen. not that you were complaining, but you might need that word for future reference.
"me about to fuck you stupid? i wouldn't know what to say either," you heard his pants fall to the floor and he angled you on the counter for you to be comfortable.
"this alright babe?" he asked, looking into your eyes for a clear answer. you stared back, impatient.
"just hurry up and fuck me," you nodded.
"i could stop right now."
"you wouldn't dare," you narrowed your eyes and before he could respond, you slammed yourself onto his cock.
he let out a groan his hands making their way to the bottom of your thighs to lift you up. although the beginning was rough, he started off slow.
"you know how long i've wanted to do this to you?" he said while picking up speed. your hands instinctively went up to cover your mouth to muffle your moans, but he pulled them away and pinned your wrists behind your back.
you shook your head. he watched as you didn't know where to look, eyes darting everywhere. from his chest, to his eyes, all the way down to where he was currently destroying you. then you'd get embarrassed and look away to start the cycle all over again.
"hey princesa. eyes on me," he loved seeing you not know what to do. as obedient as you are, you immediately locked eyes with him. "good girl. always so good for me, hmm?"
you nearly came as soon as he said that, tightening around his thick cock.
"oh, you like that?" you knew he'd use this against you forever. but now wasn't the time for you to be worrying about that. in fact, you couldn't think at all. you were understanding what he was saying but couldn't form a single response.
"i asked you a question." he began slowing down as if you didn't answer, he'd stop entirely. and you didn't want that.
quickly you answered, "i- mm, i love it," you slurred out.
"what was that?" he went back to his ungodly pace, and it took you even longer to piece a sentence together, letting out a moan every single time he hit your g-spot. you could swear you saw a little bump in your stomach every time he was fully in.
"i fucking love it, teo," you whimpered out, every word emphasized by the slapping of his hips against the apex of your thighs.
he would've blushed at this, but considering that he had in fact, been waiting so long for this, he attempted to go even faster and harder.
you were borderline drooling, if it wasn't for mateo holding you, you'd be lying back as far as you could. you went to grab for his back, before you realized that your wrists were still in his grasp.
"need to touch you," you whined.
he contemplated for a moment before releasing his constraint on you, and while you went straight for his back, his hands went up your shirt. the cold feel against your burning skin made you jump.
he had been letting out little moans and whimpers, but you could tell he was getting close with how they increased in volume and he began rutting into you like his life depended on it.
your moans were quieted but his lips on yours, and you began to feel that telltale knot in your stomach. it was as if he noticed this, as he broke the kiss and asked, "are you gonna cum?"
if you weren't in this position getting fucked until you couldn't think, you would've said, "isn't it obvious, dumbass?" but considering the fact he had you drooling on his dick that probably wouldn't be the best response.
you hurriedly nodded, and you could see the beginning of a smirk on his face.
"c'mon hermosa, you can do it. come for me," he trailed off into a long moan as you creamed around him, feeling as mateo did one last hard thrust and buried his head in the crook of your neck to mask his sounds.
the two of you stayed still in silence, only hearing each other's heavy breaths.
"did you mess up my hair?" you asked, blowing away strands of hair from your face.
"i think if your hair was fine, it wouldn't be much of a good time," you closed your legs as soon as he slid out, feeling something hot drip out of you.
"well, i think that i need to take a nice long shower." you attempted to get off the counter as mateo put his pants back on, but he stopped you.
"let me carry you, mi princesa. don't need you tripping." he gestured to you slightly trembling thighs.
you closed your thighs tighter together in embarrassment, as if didn't just cum in you a few minutes ago. he laughed at this and went to pick you up bridal style.
"y'know, this was what i was talking about when we first met. how we could be doing something else instead of dancing."
"why the fuck did it take you so long then, hm?" you jokingly punched his chest.
"well, why did you have to search up how to ask?" he shot back.
you totally forgot you left your laptop on the bed. it was open enough for anyone that goes by to glance at it and see at least half of what was on the screen.
and he went into the room to change his clothes.
"oh, fuck you teo," you hmphed and crossed your arms.
"you just did," he winked.
I HAD TO REWRITE THIS THREE FUCKING TIMES BECAUSE TUMBLR DIDN'T SAVE. THREE. I ACTUALLY LOST IT.
also how tf do u talk about pussy. like do you say pussy? vagina? entrance? core? heat? THIS IS SO HARD. btw i was so embarrassed making this that some parts might not make sense or be repetitive. im sorry

Human radiator
Fandom: Elena of Avalor
Characters: Gabriel Nuñez, Naomi Turner, Elena Castillo Flores, Mateo de Alva
Relationships: all four of them being best friends
Prompt: @flufftober - day 17 Only One Bed (kinda)
Word count: 427
Other: Fluff, Oneshot, Cuddling, Implied camping trip or something, platonic bed sharing, post canon, no context, Gabe's POV mostly because is anybody really surprised at this point
"Alright, so it looks..." Gabe brushed off his hands and paused.
"... actually not bad," Elena supplemented him with the right words.
"Yeah." He nodded, assessing their makeshift shelter with a judgmental gaze.
"So we're finally done? Oh thank goodness." Naomi dramatically threw away a stick and not wasting a minute, crawled under the canopy of branches and vines.
Mateo didn't seem completely convinced of the stability of the old stone wall their lean-to was based on, but an impatient "Well! Aren't you coming?!" from Naomi seemed to be enough to lure him inside.
Gabe looked over to Elena.
"I can take the first watch."
"No way!" Her answer synchronised with Naomi's cry.
"Nuh uh mister "not taking a coat to Maarsvik" you're staying in here with the rest of us!"
Elena nodded sagely and ushered him to go before her.
"Don't worry, we're alone here anyway. And I doubt there's anything out here to get us except for maybe mosquitoes?"
"And I call dibs on using you as a pillow," Naomi added as he squeezed into the tight space they got to call home for the night.
"Alright, alright," Gabe chuckled, making himself comfortable on the dry leaves and moss mattress. They all huddled together into one big bundle of arms and legs and chests, seeking warmth and any semblance of comfort on the five square metres that they got to share. Finally a shared relaxed sigh filled their little abode. That's when Gabe decided to add:
"By the way, I snore."
The silence lost its bliss. It has gained however, a whole lot of weight from the silent threats cast at him by everyone's glares. Gabe couldn't see them of course, but he could feel it well in his heart that they were there.
"Not if I smother you in your sleep you won't," Mateo mumbled half asleep.
Gabe chuckled and the atmosphere went back to being cozy.
"Very funny, Mateo." He rolled his eyes even if he knew they wouldn't see it. "Cause it was a joke, right? Guys...?"
The only answer he got was even and quiet breathing all around him and suddenly he started wondering if maybe standing a watch alone outside wouldn't be that bad.
But then he thought about the dark and cold and wind waiting behind the thin walls of their little hut and felt the warmth and comfort coming from his friends even strongly. His eyelids began to drop and he decided that maybe getting murdered in his sleep is something... he can worry about... in the morning...
Author's note:
You do not realise how badly I wanted to call Gabe a human radiator in the fic itself but. I imagine radiators are not a thing in the EverRealm T_T However I firmly believe that Gabe would make for a fantastic pillow and my goal was to not make it creepy or horny by accident in the fic. It's just an objective and platonic truth ✊

I just found this in my drafts from WAY BACK when I was first noticing loads of the mirroring moments in Lone Star and since the new season begins airing this week (not that I’m gonna be able to watch it, being in the uk where Disney + won’t put it on until well after… I’m gonna have to avoid so much stuff… 😒) i thought I’d just post it, because it’s these little connective moments that I love and appreciate so much in storytelling… and one of the reasons why 911: Lone Star will always remain a standout show…
Some of these are more random and possibly unintentional than others, but I noticed them and jotted them down anyway…
The “he’s impressive” moment…
101: Carlos to T.K. about Owen
110: Carlos to owen about T.K.
208: Owen to Gabriel about Carlos
“Soulmates”…
105: T.K.: [when asked about facing rejection] “116 days ago when I asked my soulmate to marry me and he moved in with his trainer instead”
416: Carlos: “I’ll say hi, you’re T.K., I’m Carlos and we’re soulmates”
The red jumpsuit… (the likelihood is someone probably just really this jumpsuit)
201: Worn by gwyn in her first scene
414: Worn by Tommy when she address the congregation
Cookies…
T.K. during ice storm plot - making cookies with Gwyn
Carlos in 404 - Trudy forcing him to try the cookie she made
Instincts…
208 - Carlos: I trusted my instincts like you always taught me. Gabriel: the thing is son, you’ve got to have the right instincts. (this breaks my heart every time!)
404 - Gabriel: my son’s resourceful and he can take care of himself. Grier: I have no doubt that’s how you raised him. Gabriel: no, he figured that out on his own. (I love this moment every time!)
Bad call…
208: Owen and Carlos’s heart to heart over smoothies - when Carlos didn’t actually make a bad call
418: Owen and Carlos’s heart to heart over whatever alcohol they’re drinking - when Carlos very nearly did make a bad call
Uniform…
208 - Carlos: not that I have a uniform at the moment
404 - Darryl: where’s your uniform?
We make a good team…
110: T.K. and Carlos
212: Owen and Gabriel
Hey Carlos. Hey ….
101: Carlos arresting Michelle
301: Carlos arresting Marjan
You sure this is where you wanna be…?
103: To TK: You sure you’re in the right place, man?
308: To Gwyn: Lady, you sure this is where you wanna be?
Milkman Judd…
411: Judd is the milkman in Mateo’s dream
417: Judd brings in Owen’s milk from outside
I know you’re [not] ready…
204: salim to marjan: I know you’re not ready to get married yet, but I am… just not to you
412: Carlos to tk: I know you’re ready to be a father. And I have no doubt that you would be an amazing one. But I’m not so sure I’m there yet… or ever will be…
And that’s as far as I got with it - I wouldn’t be surprised if there are loads more that I missed… and we’ll see what season 5 brings because I expect a lot will be coming with this final season… there already was one in the trailer and when I heard it I knew this was gonna be an epic finale.

Decided to use the new spiderverse picrew to try and make Aph and her kids in the spiderverse art style! Most of them are pretty accurate but I'll still talk about slight inaccuracies underneath each one :3
Aph first! One of the most accurate! Couldn't really make her suit since her suit is pretty specific but close enough! The proportions are pretty perfect except for the face needing to be rounder and smaller and not being able to add the dye in the back of her hair but besides that this is exactly how I imagine Aph in this style! The bangs could use a little styling tho
Minerva is again one of the most accurate! Couldn't really make her suit even if I tried since it's so unique but this is close enough, the only thing is her skin tone should be darker by maybe a shade or two (I use Miguel's skin tone when I draw her) but besides that she's perfect!
Javier is EXACTLY how I imagined, literally no complaints here this is exactly how my boy looks like
I had so much trouble with Mateo you all don't even know, the hair specifically should look like Miguel's but shorter and I think that's what throws everything off, same with Aph, his face should be rounder, though the picrew gave me ideas on what his suit should look like since I hadn't thought about his! Again his skin tone should be a shade darker but its alright!
Overall really liked this picrew and enjoyed using it to make the sillies come to life so yall can finally see them in a way :3

Here is a nice ask right back 💜🩷
What culture shock and antics would the 126 get into if they visited Australia?
(I will answer yours later probably when I am not doing what I'm supposed to do on my prep time at work again haha)
thank you so much for the return nice ask! 💕
this is a really fun one, i think they'd be on seperate trips not all at once, so they'd have different culture shocks and experiences. i have deffs overthought all of this, but it was fun. there's some new fic ideas brewing now.
so tk & carlos are on a vacation to celebrate their anniversary, tk has always wanted to see the great barrier reef.
owen is on a vacation because tk raved about the australian beaches so much, mateo tags along with owen.
grace, judd & charlie are in victoria visiting grace's sisters who are in aus for their music and doing a trip along the great ocean road.
tommy and the girls go on a trip to australia zoo because while tommy was sick she realised life is too short and she's always wanted to see a koala in real life, so once she's better, she pulls the girls out of school to spend two weeks in australia. they also visit uluru and learn about aboriginal culture and bush tucker.
paul and asha go on their honeymoon.
marjan and nancy are chosen to go to a global conference in perth about leadership for female first responders, to represent the AFD.
as for their antics and culture shocks:
for tk, I think he would somehow end up rescuing an animal, maybe an orphan wombat joey and trying to convince carlos that he can raise it fine and they don’t need to call WIRES (a wildlife carer organisation), carlos calls anyway. as for carlos, who we know is not a great traveller, I think he'd struggle with how even the familiar stuff, like american chain stores/fast food places, and basic foods like bread are different in Australia, but he'd find how laid back it is, even in touristy areas really relaxing for his anxiety.
I think judd would be surprised by how different and challenging he finds it to drive on the opposite side of the road. at first he assumes it'll be easy, he's a really competent driver, he can drive a firetruck, how hard is it to drive a minivan on the 'wrong' side of the road. He also absolutely loses his mind at hook turns in melbourne (for good reason, who came up with those?) In the end, grace takes over for their road trip along the great ocean road, and is a total natural at driving on the left. judd sits in the back with charlie pointing out every animal they pass and playing "i spy" with her. at some point in their trip, they pass a bunnings and charlie gets really excited because that looks just like hammerbarn from bluey.
i think owen would go to bondi beach to surf, and end up in an episode of bondi rescue stealing the lifeguard's thunder by pulling off some daredevil rescue before the lifeguards get there (but not before the cameras do), then he gets a really hipster vegan smoothie from a nearby cafe and somehow ends up getting a date with a rich much younger local blonde woman who's sole heiress to a mining magnate.
meanwhile, mateo takes a day trip to the blue mountains, to see if they're really blue in real life. he comes across wild kangaroos and thinks it would be so dope to send everyone back home a selfie of him petting a kangaroo and thus becomes intimately equated with the differences between paramedicine in austin and sydney. after he's been stitched up he avoids the wildlife, opting to wander around the city near their hotel playing pokemon go when owen goes to the zoo.
paul & asha are looking forward to a really relaxing honeymoon, along the east coast, eating good food, drinking good wine, sitting by the pool reading, walking along the beach, hiking and taking in the wildlife. unfortunately, as a member of the 126, paul can't stop attracting trouble, with people having emergencies everywhere they go. on the flight there, there's bad turbulence, a few people get hurt and paul has to give minor first aid. then they get to a resturant that had amazing reviews for the australian fusion cusine, paul has been dying to try it and a woman at the next table chokes just as their first course arrives. paul has to render aid until the ambulance arrives, by the time it does his food is cold, the resturant comps their meal though. then when they're driving to a mountain to go hiking, a car crashes in front of them, they help rescue the driver with no equipment before the car is engulfed in flames. by the time help arrives and they give their details etc, it's too late in the day to start their hike. a man almost drowns in the hotel pool just as paul gets to the good part of his book, the lifeguard doesn't notice, so he has to rescue them. asha starts to joke they shouldn't leave their hotel room. that said, paul is shocked by how good all the food is in australia, and the coffee. he struggles to adjust back to american coffee when he gets home, and starts importing a specalised blend from a cafe they visited in australia who ship worldwide.
while nancy and marjan are at their conference, they're constantly next to each other, in each other's personal space and making inside jokes/laughing at things the other says, to the point everyone they meet, including hen who's there representing the afd, assumes they're dating (they aren't, yet) and asks what it's like working together and dating. marjan wants to go to rottnest island while they're in perth and get a quokka selfie for her instagram, she gets at least a dozen, and convinces nancy she needs to be in at least one quokka selfie with her. they send it to the 126 groupchat and tk assumes it's an announcement that they're finally dating. they both blush. by the end of the trip they are, infact, dating.
tommy & the twins go to queensland first, they have the best time as a family at australia zoo where they cuddle a koala and tommy is so excited to see robert irwin doing the croc feeding show. then they go to the gold coast and stay by the beach, where tommy expereinces the culture shock of how much more laid back and peaceful it is. she wants to have a really 'authentic' experience, so they have fish and chips on the beach. they're surprised that nobody else is eating on the beach, until they get attacked by a flock of seagulls. after losing half their chips and all their calamari to the gulls, they decide to have ice cream for dinner instead. the twins dare tommy to try vegemite flavoued ice cream, and not only does she like it, but she gets it with a scoop of cookies and cream. when they're learning about bush tucker on their uluru trip, tommy is the only person in the tour group willing to try witcherry grubs.
#don't mess with kangaroos should be a mandatory PSA video at the airport for international arrivals tbh#they're cute sure but they will fuck you up#if you're ever here as a tourist and anyone offers you vegemite flavoured ice cream run#it shouldn't be legal#i had so much fun writing all this out#911 lone star#911ls headcanons#911ls#tk strand#carlos reyes#owen strand#mateo chavez#paul strickland#asha fulton#marjan marwani#nancy gillian#tommy vega#izzie and evie vega#i did not intend for this post to get so LONG oops

"Could we take a shower together ?"
The words immediately reached your ears but slowly, very slowly reached your brain. And once they reached it, they took their sweet time to sink in. You then froze, your eyes widening, your lips slowly parting and whatever object you had in hands falling.
By seeing your reaction, Gekko realized what he just asked. The red started to spread on his cheeks as stuttering laced his tongue.
"W-Wait ! N-Nothing freaky I swear !"
This time, it looked like you stopped breathing, and the young initiator understood that he only worsened your state.
"Not that I was thinking of something freaky !"
He winced when he saw Wingman facepalming in the corner of the room. He cleared his throat and looked into your still wide opened eyes.
"I mean, it has been a while since last time we had some good quality time that isn't just going to bed," a quick glance to Wingman indicated him that the yellow creature were encouraging him. "You know, since we had a lot of ops lately, we barely had a few times just for us."
You unfroze and tilted your head slightly.
"Therefore the shower ?"
Gekko gulped and realized he might have been too bold. Your relationship was still new and in the process of a beautiful bloom. A few months ago, he was still the new agent fetched by Reyna, bubbly and insanely colorful in your eyes. His cheerful voice always followed you since he joined the protocol, and his eyes were always looking for you since he first saw you in the shooting range. He was smitten pretty fast and he never really tried to hide it. It was still hard for him to believe that, even after a few months, you two were dating.
"Alright," you said after a nervous silence. "Let me just get my PJ and towel in my dorm room."
The second you exited the room, a nervous shaky but excited breath escaped his mouth. He exchanged a look with Wingman and he was certain that the radivore would have given him thumbs up if he could. He then hurried in his bathroom to see if he had enough soap and shampoo — and also to tidy his towels and a few clothes. When he heard the door sliding open, he welcomed you with a bright but nervous smile. You tilted your head slightly before putting your stuff near the sink.
"That's a lot of shampoo," you noticed with a light chuckle. "I already knew that you like taking great care of your hair but...wow."
A soft giggle escaped him before it slowly faded. The sight of you turning your back on him and taking off your top made him gulp in an almost comical way. He admired the skin of your back, his gaze lingering on the movement of your muscles beneath your skin.
"You don't undress ?" you asked and raised an eyebrow when he jumped at the sound of your voice.
"Huh ? Yeah of course ! I...yeah," he stuttered, blushing.
He then proceeded to undress while you entered in the shower cabin. He heard you turning on the water and sighing in delight. Once fully naked, he hurried to join you in the shower. He felt his muscle relaxing under the spray of warm water and a delighted sigh escaped his lips.
"Feels good, huh ?" you chuckled, turning your body completely towards him. "I keep pressing Brimstone so we could have hot pools. Can you imagine how good it must feel after an exhausting mission ?"
The water was streaming from your head to the dip of your neck. He smiled and noticed that you were keeping your eyes strictly above his waist.
"Do you think he would accept ?"
You shrugged and grabbed a bottle of shampoo.
"I'm a pressing pro. He'll eventually fumble."
A hearty laugh came out of his chest at your words as he let you grab his shoulders. You gently pushed him to sat down on the shower bench and started to massage his scalp with the shampoo. Gekko already knew that you could make him feel good, but the throaty noise that escaped him was tainted of surprise. The intimate setting, your touch, he felt like he could melt.
He wrapped his arms around your waist and nuzzled his face against your stomach as you kept working on his scalp. Another sigh escaped him.
"You do not only look like a puppy," you murmured, your eyes focused, "you also act like one."
"Thanks ?" he snorted.
You often told him that and the more he spent time with you, the more he believed it.
He closed his eyes when he felt you rubbing the loofah on his skin. Gentle but firm. He thought that it suit you well. He even felt your touch lingering softly on his tattoos. A warm sentiment of fondness bloomed in his chest when he let you tilt his head back and rinse him.
"I should've ask you to shower with me a long time ago," he hummed as he stood up, stretching his back.
"You would've been a nervous wreck," you playfully retorted and Gekko had a quick flashback of how nervous he was at the very beginning of your relationship.
"I still am around you," he admitted, pushing you sat on the shower bench. "Your turn, now."
He drank each one of your reactions ; your sighs, your small smiles, your shivers, all. Once he was done rinsing you, he cupped your face between his hands and pressed a lingering kiss on your lips.
"I don't want this moment to stop," he murmured, his lips adorning a light pout.
You turned off the water, an amused smile on your lips.
"Even for cuddles in bed ?"
"You got me."
You two exited the shower cabin hand in hand and wrapped yourself in towels. He watched you drying yourself then averted his eyes elsewhere. He found you so beautiful, so precious. But he didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
"Thank you for accepting to take a shower with me," he said.
"Thank you for proposing," you replied while putting on a t-shirt.
His eyes widened when he recognized the colorful patterns on the clothe.
"Is that my tee ?"
"It is," you said very casually.
He felt so giddy. If Neon or Jett saw him at the moment, they would tease him to death.
"I should give you more of my clothes."
"I won't say no," you smiled and finished dressing up. "Cuddle time ?"
He nodded eagerly, which made you laugh. He let you drag him to his bed and spoon him under the cover. All his muscles were relaxed, his face was buried against your chest and a pleased hum rumbled in his chest when you started to gently scratch his scalp. All curled up against you, Gekko felt a peace so deep he started to feel drowsy.
"We'll definitely do that again," he slurred.

FULL ART by @scarletfish8eta
<Prev | Masterlist | Next>
The distinctive crack of a can of beer being opened echoes through a messy room. Clothes, cans, cuffs and crumpled up tape is strewn across the floor and bed. A man sits on the edge of the bed, placing his beer on the bedside table after taking a large sip. He’s reading a newspaper. Picked it up this morning on his beer run when he spotted the front page article.
THOMAS WONG RETURNS HOME SAFE AFTER COMMUNITY CROWD-FUNDS RANSOM DEMAND, KIDNAPPER STILL AT LARGE
There was a picture of the named teen in question, smiling awkwardly at the camera while being hugged from both sides. An older woman closely resembling him on his left, and a tan young man with glasses on his right. The man brushes his thumb over the boys in the picture. The ones that got away…
His eyes skim the article, spotting the kidnapper’s name a couple times, but no mention of their little altercation with the man he hired in a last attempt to get back at her.
No matter.
He’d done his own research.
He puts the newspaper aside, reaching into the drawer of the bedside table and pulling out a pile of some older newspaper cutouts. One of the articles he’d saved had a school picture of a blond teenage boy, writing about how he had been missing for multiple weeks, before tragically turning up dead. The other articles were smaller updates from the period in which he was missing.
The man was still waiting for confirmation, but he was certain there was a connection. He’d heard whispers in the underworld, rumours, that the teen wasn’t dead at all. His kidnapper had just faked his death so he could keep him all to himself.
The man almost considers taking some pointers, but then his phone starts ringing. He reaches into his pocket, checking the caller ID before picking up.
“Delaney, about time.”
“Getting information about these kind of things isn’t as easy as you think,” the caller replies, “besides, you still haven’t said anything about compensation. I’m risking my ass here for you.”
“Relax,” the man rolls his eyes, “if I like what you found, I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Delaney scoffs, “but fine. I talked to the guy I mentioned that’s working on the same project I’m on. He hangs out with a guy he knew from college who travels around to check on some rich guy’s property, and he claims to know the guy you mentioned — or know of him at least.”
“Right,” the man says, getting impatient just a little bit, “so…did he know anything about the rumours?”
“That he did, my friend,” Delaney replies, “said he was pretty sure the guy decided to keep the kid for himself.”
“Perfect…” the man grins, looking over the newspaper cutouts again, “now here’s my offer…I’ll help you track them down, and when we do I’ll need you to hang on to the boy for a couple days. See it as an…extended private session.”
A whistle sounds through the phone whilst Delaney considers the offer. His friend was right. It’s hard to refuse.
“Damn…sounds like I’ll have to take a couple vacation days.”
“Trust me, buddy. It’ll be worth it…”

Fandom: Elena of Avalor
Characters: Elena Castillo Flores, Mateo de Alva, Naomi Turner, Gabriel Nuñez, El Guapo
Word count: 1881
Other: Post canon, AU, violence, blood and injury, possession
I am drunk with the people's approval.
So since I was so delightfully cheered on, here it is, the other Gabe possession fic. This one was written for an AU proudly called Guapoverse. While the whole story is quite convoluted, the important context for this scene fic is that it takes place post canon, in a reality where Gabe made a deal with the spirit of El Guapo - now they're both sharing Gabe's body, each in hopes to achieve his own goals.
Elena blocked another attack and twisted the sword out of her opponent's hand. Right as he fell to the ground, another one stroke her from the side. She managed to dodge. Another block and they were stuck for a moment, trying to push the other away. It's a good thing her scepter was indestructible now, it crossed Elena's mind, because the old, golden hilt would've broken long ago. She would try blazing her enemy but at such a close distance she'd only end up knocking herself over and if anything caught fire...
She had to jump back. The attacker's sword swung dangerously close to her face but at least she dodged a knife to her side. Without a moment's break she charged with her scepter and hit her opponent in the arm holding the sword. The crunch when the crystal hit the bone made her sick.
The man fell to his back with a scream cut short when he hit the ground. Clutching his limp arm he crawled away, climbed to his feet and ran away in panic. Elena didn't chase him.
She swiftly turned around and rised her scepter. There was no one behind her. She let out a relieved sigh. Panting quickly, she tried to catch her breath, while frantically looking around.
They were surrounded. How could they fall for such an obvious trap? The exit of the gorge have been blocked by an avalanche they didn't know about and when they turned around, their path had already been blocked by bandits. There were more than five for each of them. Twenty? Thirty? For just the four of them?
Elena's eyes widened. Her friends. She tried to find them among the swarm of attackers. A bright flash of orange light clearly showed her where Mateo was.
Three men where pushed away by a magical wave and the ground around Mateo was frozen. He had a magical shield in front of him and it was constantly pounded by crossbow arrows. There was still a chance he'll get attacked from behind but he'll manage, Elena was sure of that.
Her eyes went back to the crowd and her heart stopped for a moment. Naomi was going against two bandits with swords, desperately trying to block their attacks with her crossbow. Only a few hours ago they were talking about how she needs to learn to use a close range weapon - or at least make her lasso un-cut-able - but they obviously planned to start training only once they're back home. Turns out it wasn't so certain anymore.
Elena put her scepter back in its scabbard, picked up one of the swords laying on the ground and ran towards Naomi. She almost reached her when a piercing scream, followed by a loud thud made her stop dead in her tracks. She immediately turned in its direction.
"Gabe!" The shout ripped her throat and her heart.
Gabriel's limp body slid down a wall of the gorge. He was bleeding. Three bandits advanced at him, with their swords barren.
"No..." Did she even say it out loud?
"Elena!" Naomi's scream brought her back to reality.
Mateo's shield fell when he heart the scream. He knew it wasn't any of the bandits before he even turned around, but when he did, the crossbows still aimed at his back completely left his mind. Gabe was laying on the ground and looked as if...
That's right, Naomi was right there and she needed her help too. Forcing herself to look away, Elena swung at one of the bandits.
In one moment he was already almost by him, knocking away all the people on his way with the strongest boqatos he ever casted. He fell on his knees and carefully lifted Gabe's head.
He was breathing. His hair was wet and clumped with blood but he was alive. Mateo let out a breath he didn't even realize he was holding. But his short relief immediately made way for more fear.
They need to get out of here, they need to get out of here immediately and no matter what, Gabe was unconscious and bleeding, they were surrounded and outnumbered and Gabe desperately needed help, they can't wait any moment more, if they stay here...
Suddenly Gabriel's eyes shot open.
Mateo gasped and would've definitely jumped back if he wasn't still holding him.
"Gabe!" His voice broke with emotion.
Gabriel frowned and a shiver ran up Mateo's spine. His pain must've really been terrible. And then he tried to sit up.
"Don't move!" Mateo tried to push him back on the ground. "You're in shock but you're badly injured, just- just stay here, we'll get you out of here, I promise, just..."
Gabriel was still struggling in his arms. Mateo couldn't contain his worry, his face was twisted in a terrible grimace and his eyes were weirdly absent. He was no medic but he was sure he shouldn't move in this state.
"Gabe!"
"Hands off me, wizard!" Gabriel barked, pushing Mateo away. Slowly he rised to his feet and took a few staggering steps forward. He closed his eyes and rised one hand to his forehead. Mumbling something under his breath and struggling to keep balance, he looked more like he was drunk than mortally wounded.
Mateo stayed frozen on the ground. It wasn't Gabe's voice.
"No..." He whispered.
As if in an answer, Gabriel started to chuckle, his shoulders shaking, but instead of laughter it looked as if he was moved by feverish convulsions. A wide, almost too wide, grin stretched on his face.
The screaming started at the far end of the gorge but neither Elena nor Naomi could pay any attention to it, too engaged in the fight for their lives. Naomi swung Elena's scepter like a club and knocked her opponent out. She immediately had to block a sword at her right. That was too much for her leg, already injured before the battle even began, and she fell to the ground.
"Finally," he said in that unnatural voice, and he sounded almost happy.
She braced herself for the attack but instead she heard a clung above her and in a swirl of white Elena shielded her and pushed the opponent back. She gave him a kick to the stomach and turned back to the other one.
Naomi couldn't get back up. Her heart was pounding and air burned her throat like fire. Her leg was numb and hurt like hell at the same time. The constant clinking of steel above her head became almost unnoticeable to her. But now there was screaming, she realized, more screaming than before.
Gathering all the strength she had left, she propped herself on her arm and raised her head.
Mateo has escaped his opponents. He was now moving towards them, casting freezing and pushing spells one after another. The bandits that haven't yet been struck started to run away. But not just from Mateo.
There was something else, zooming through the battlefield. At first Naomi thought it was another spell - something ran straight into a group of bandits and in a few moments they were all knocked out on the ground. But then that something laughed.
A smear of blue and red. Glint of steel and unmistakable sound of clashing swords. It had to be Gabe but... Naomi felt her head spin. Why did Mateo go in Gabe's way? How did Gabe move do fast?
Naomi heard a groan above her. She pushed herself up to her feet and tried to look up, but she realized she was falling again. Luckily Elena caught her.
She put her arm over her and Elena grabbed her in the waist. They both now looked at the battlefield before them.
It was nearly empty. The sound of a tamborita echoed through the gorge as Mateo cast one last solaza. The bandit froze with his sword raised and Mateo bent with his hands on his knees and panted loudly.
"Mateo!" Naomi with Elena's help limped to him and threw herself at his arm. "Are you alright?"
They parted and Mateo nodded, still breathing too heavily to speak. Elena closed them both in a hug, but despite how shaken they all were, she immediately let go.
"Where's..." She started and they all looked around.
Only a few meters away Gabriel was fighting with a bandit, the last conscious still left in the gorge. Their swords clashed and threw sparks around but it was clear the bandit was loosing. With each hit he was taking a step back and finally, after a very strong thrust on Gabriel's part, lost his balance and fell to the ground.
Gabriel barked out a sound too terrible to be laughter and kicked away his sword.
"Gabe!" Elena called out to him, seeing how the fight was over.
But he didn't even look at her. He took another step towards the bandit, who was crawling away on his back, sputtering intangible prayers with his eyes stuck at his opponent. Gabriel made another heavy step towards him and his face moved into something resembling a smile.
"Gabe, stop!" Naomi shouted, her voice breaking. Ignoring her leg she tried to run to him and Mateo and Elena immediately followed her.
Gabriel raised his sword.
"General!" Elena's voice broke through the sudden silence in the gorge.
Gabriel stopped. Everyone froze. He slowly turned towards them and looked straight at Elena.
The bandit noticed his opportunity and tried to get up, but Gabriel pushed him back down with a kick to the chest and stepped on his hand. Mateo inhaled sharply but Gabriel didn't even seem to notice the crunch under his boot and the bandit's scream.
"Let him go." Elena's voice trembled bit it was confident.
Gabriel frowned.
"He tried to kill you all," he sneered. "He's a regular ruffian, one less will only be better for everyone."
Elena slowly made a few more steps, until she was so close she could poke him in the chest.
"I said, let him go."
For a moment Gabriel looked surprised, and such a look combined with the way his face was already contorted, was even more grotesque. But then he slipped back into his mocking grin.
"Oh, you mean him?" He chuckled. "What, you think I'm doing this against his will? You know I can't."
"You've heard what she said, Guapo! Leave him!" Naomi's voice was choked but her fists were clenched and her blood in boil. Mateo raised his tamborita.
Guapo sighed.
"And this is what I get for making deals with you," he chuckled this terrible laugh of his. "You know I don't have to? He let me do this." He looked on each of them and whatever he saw on their faces must've pleased him as he shrugged and smiled.
"But," he slowly wiped his sword on the bandit's clothes and finally put it in the scabbard. He lifted the foot from the bandit's hand. "When the queen orders, the soldier listens."
For a moment Gabriel's eyes went blank and his face limp. He staggered on his feet. Finally he looked up.
"Gabe?" Elena asked carefully.
Gabriel looked between them, at the bandit running away and back at his friends.
"I'm... Sorry."
He closed his eyes and fell.

I'm thinking of doing a side blog for my OCs, but I'm really not sure if anyone would be interested. All my OC's are essentially my take on different horror tropes, focusing on a more victorian/romantic gothic vibe. All the OC's have photoplayers (is this correct?) from my favourite fandoms. I plan on writing for them a story between 3 and 10 chapters, each, since they're all part of a horror/gothic anthology called Thorned Roses in the Garden of Evil.
Mateo already has a series going on (Sanguis Maledictus aka The Demon, the Heretic and the Corrupted), as he was the first, but the others are still TBA, but idk, maybe I could write them drabbles and some of you could interact sharing your thoughts. Idk, I never did anything like it.
Anyway, I present you, my Children of the Moon:
Henry Prescott (Werewolf OC) photoplayer by my beloved Hamish Linklater
Mateo Romero (Priest/Demon OC) photoplayer by dear Daniel Brühl
Haester Grimald (Vampire OC) photoplayer by goth boy David Dastmalchian
Sebastian Blackwood and his counterpart Lucian (Phantom + Jekyll&Hyde OC) photoplayer by incredible Oscar Isaac
Lorian Carfell (Warlock OC) (this fella is a recent addition, so I might be changing a thing or two about him) photoplayer by my honeypot Peter Capaldi

okay but there is something so hrnghfhfbfbfbd about the way that the audience’s interpretation of tbdate is part of the narrative itself like. the fixation on the fucking stove. the entire POINT is that it was inevitable the entire POINT is that it was his own growth that both saved and killed him and we KNOW that but we are so so so human because we sit here going “if the stove were just fixed, if he just didn’t leave, if if if” as if we don’t already know that him leaving the island would have meant him never living. fucking crazy man.
#literally finished this terrible horrible beautiful awful book a solid uh. 45 minutes ago#and have spent those 45 minutes scrolling through the tbdate tag. in typical mateo fashion#i am going to go fucking feral#the stove. the FUCKING stove THE GENIUS OF IT DO UOU GET IT.
