"I wanted to be unforgettable. Indelible. I wanted to haunt their hearts and minds—to be everywhere and nowhere, spectacular and out of reach. Only in the chaos did it dawn on me. Being remembered is not the same as being missed."

Fandom Problem #5250:
I think fic readers need to learn to be more shameless. Nsfw works inherently always have tons of clicks and very little kudos and even LESS comments because people are to embarrassed. Nobody is going to judge you. Everyone's there for the same reason. Supporting nsfw writers isn't something shameful and chances are they are as nervous to be perceived as you. They deserve the support too if you like their work

Prompt #1097
“I’m fine. You should know by now that you don’t have to worry about me.”

This is my recent favorite and I really adore this fic. It deserves more love from the fandom.
Borrowed Words by sunrisesinthesuburbs (M)
Anthony J. Crowley, best selling author, has writer's block. He could blame the Accident, but deep down he knows his block started way before. He hasn't written anything in too long, if we choose to ignore the dozens of unsent letters addressed to the angel he lost two decades ago, when he moved to New York City.
When his best (and only) friend convinces him to take a little vacation in a small town in Connecticut, he expects peace and quiet. He doesn't expect to see the smile that still haunts his dreams again. Apparently, small towns are full of surprises, and how late is too late?
The world stops spinning on its axis or, at the very least, Crowley stops breathing. This is absolutely impossible. He forces himself to swallow, to take a deep breath, as he doesn’t want to scare this girl off. Muriel, who is still smiling, all bright and wide and just like-
Oh, God. “A bookshop, you said?” He chokes out. This is impossible, and he’s being ridiculous. He is in London, this is just a sick coincidence and his stupid brain playing stupid games.
“Yes, you can see it if you turn around.” Crowley doesn’t move. “It’s called A. Z. Fell Books.”
Now, the world definitely stops spinning.

Signal Boost Please! Call for Submissions
Hello everyone! My name is Cassandra Jules Corrigan and I'm an author of queer-friendly kids books. You can check my creds here.
My editor Alex and I have pitched a kids' anthology of queer folklore and mythology where we're hoping to gather submissions from 10-15 different contributors of different cultural backgrounds telling a queer story from their culture's folklore or mythology. Talks have been going well, but the publisher, Jessica Kingsley Publishers (an imprint of Hachette), would like to see more submissions to get a better feel for what the final product would look like before green-lighting.
Submissions should be around 100-200 words, focused on one story, and be written in a style appropriate for late elementary/early middle school. If you would like to include sources for the story, you can put them at the end in a bibliography, Chicago/Turabian style is preferred.
We especially would like submissions from POC, but white authors are also welcome to submit.
If you would like to write something for us, you can use this form to submit. Please keep in mind that submitting does not guarantee that you will be included in the final anthology, but we will reach out to you via e-mail if we want to use your writing.
If you aren't a writer or this isn't your thing, I would still really appreciate a reblog to spread the word!
Thank you all so much!

They say the mighty ferocious dragon snatched up the poor innocent princess. Since she refused rescue they say the selfless maiden didn't want any man risking his life for little old her. There haven't been any dragon attacks since she was carried off and the dragon's been seen in flight with the tiny damsel riding on top so they say she soothed the savage monster with her gentle goodness. They say those things because she was always sweet on the outside but they don't know she's tart on the inside. If you were to look inside the dragon's den right now you'd see the hapless beast submissively filing the little minx's nails with his scaly tongue while she playfully tugs at the fireproof chain she's wrapped around his manhood.

Or maybe the story of "that one teacher" who made a difference for you?
You can read the guidelines, see example blogs, and submit a piece here (accepted submissions are paid)!
Plus see other topics we'd like to highlight soon, including:
❤️ Hispanic Heritage Month

Just received your print of the egg man speech in the mail, it was a gift for my brother who can recite the whole thing from memory. Needless to say he was very satisfied with the gift, and me and my siblings sat around it for 10 minutes cackling, till our mom showed up and we scattered. His room mates are jealous of it and want their own. 10/10 thank you <3

sjfgjsfdhsfshd thank you! glad it could bring joy to your beloved gremlins

Fandom Problem #5915:
Antis left reviews on my problematic ao3 fic, called me horrible shit.
I did not tag the fandom or any character.
I tagged the ship (a problematic one)
I tagged alll the problematic shit that applies.
So unless you are looking through the problematic ship's tag or the tag for the problematic content, you can not find it.
So how the hell are you here?

I found this little guy inside a horse poo pile whilst mucking out! Pretty sure it's an Angle Shades moth. I love how they resemble fallen leaves. Relocated to a sheltered branch. :)
Yup, an angle shades! Their markings are lovely :)

Webzine submissions open for writing!
Tumblr media
Dear writers on tumblr, pour yourself a drink on the house. We've been asking for editors for our webzine in the last few weeks (you can still sign up here). We are focusing on going into different worlds. Now, we can announce that we are accepting writing submissions for it!
Who can submit writing?
All writers can submit writing to our zine, whether you have already published other works. Or have previously shared other writing pieces on [tumblr] or Archive of our own (or similar platforms). Our editors will pick their favourite pieces for each category based on different criteria, the most important thing is how well the pieces fit our theme Portal to Another World.
What kind of writing can I submit?
We are open to any form of writing! You can submit any form of writing from poetry, prose, flash fiction, a short story, song lyrics or even a non-fiction essay. As long as it fits the theme and is unpublished. Our theme is Portal to Another World. Unpublished in this case means it isn't published in print or online. You can't submit excerpts from your WIPs when they can't be understood outside the context of your WIP.
Will you compensate me?
As much as we would love to pay all contributors, we don't have the funds. We discussed this on our server and decided we want our zine accessible to all readers. Understand this is a passion project, so you will not be compensated for your writing. The finished zine will be shared as a free PDF download with a pay-what-you-want option on our KoFi. The little money we make from the zine will be used to fund future projects of writeblrcafé (e.g. a second zine) and boosts for our Discord server.
Where can I submit my writing?
Just fill in the form below! You can submit your writing as a PDF file. The word limit for prose is 2500 words. The limit for poetry is 50 verses. You can only submit one piece of writing. If your piece of writing is longer, feel free to submit it. We will decide on a case-to-case basis. We hope many of you take this chance to collaborate on our webzine, which will be compiled in a compelling design.
Extended submissions deadline: 15th July
Submissions for artwork will open soon!
Please reblog this post to spread the word in the writing community!
