Hey! I hope You are doing Well! Can I Request a Fluff? Slasher x S/O Calling Them "Sweetface" (I was watching the seed of Chucky the other day and it got me wondering). Can i have Jason, Michael, Thomas Hewitt and Brahms? Gender is up to you!
(Sorry if my Writing is a bit Messy, English is not my First Language)
Have A Great Day! :D
Slashers respond to S/O calling them sweetface!
Fluff!
Jason Voorhees
When you first called him sweetface, it was in his cabin, while you both were resting by the fire, he had been sharpening his machete, and froze up.
His shoulders tightened and he looked down at you, tensed like a snake ready to strike.
Though he would never do such a thing.
Finally after a long silence which stretched out around you both, the only noise your soft breathing and the crackling of the fire, he tilted his head.
It was as just about clear a response as you could get out of the mute killer, 'What?'
So when you giggled and spoke again "I said, come here sweetface!" He slowly scooted closer, before quick as can be, he scooped you up into his arms, pulling you into his lap, and burying his face in your shoulder.
He didn't understand why his heart raced so much, or really why you would call a monster like him such a loving nickname, but he couldn't say he minded. The feeling of warmth blooming in his long dead chest made every moment worth it.
Micheal Myers
You had been sitting with Micheal in the living room of the old Myers house, watching some shitty horror film on the old TV set when you glanced up at him, a smile forming on your face before you leaned on him
"I love you, Sweetface"
Were the words that escaped your lips, a soft smile playing on your face as you gazed up at him. You had been with Micheal for a couple of years now, and every moment felt like a dream to you.
Micheal froze, tensing slightly as he gazed down at you through the mask he always wore, his ice blue eyes peircing into your own eyes.
But slowly, almost hesitantly, he relaxed, draping an arm around you, his fingers massaging your scalp in a shockingly gentle manner for one known for his brutality.
You should call him sweetface more often
Thomas Hewitt
You had been sitting with Thomas in the barn, one hot Texas summers day. Thomas was working nearby, focused on the work that needed finished before sundown. When you broke his focus, just a simple phrase
"Tommy, Sweetface, why don't you take a break? You've been working all day!"
He paused his movements, slowly turning and striding over to where he towered over you, looking down at you, head slightly cocked to the side as he waited for you to repeat yourself.
So you did, smiling up at him and repreating the wordsthat had shaken him out of his work filled stupor
"tommy Sweetface, you should take a break, you've been working since sun up"
You said, gently, for fear of his reaction.
But much to your surprise, he simply nodded, reaching one arm out and wrapping it around your waist, tossing you over his shoulder and making his way to the porch.
That's where he sat, settling you onto his leg while his hands began to slowly rub your back, seemingly an apology for having you out in the hot sun all day.
You could get used to this
Brahms Heelshire
You had just finished preparing dinner and setting the table, noticing the distinct lack of Brahms, who usually had already come down drawn by the scent of food you called up
"Sweetface! Dinners ready!"
Then came the familiar sounds of Brahms making his way downstairs, albeit faster than usual.
But instead of sitting at the table he walked up to you, his hands finding your cheeks and lifting your face to look at him, head tilted to the side as he speaks, low and measured
"what?"
It's clear what he is asking about, you had called him sweetface, so with a smile you reach up, ruffling his hair
"I said, Sweetface, dinners ready"
He paused, either shocked by you repeating it, or by the confirmation that you did infact call him sweetface before he leaned down, wrapping you in a tight hug, burying his face in your neck and muttering
"good"

NFC WEST🏈🏉 BREAKDOWN
Kyler Murray and the Cardinals started hot but fizzled out quickly.
Harrison Jr (aside week 2 explosion) has been a rookie growing pains for fantasy.
Connor has been wildly inconsistent.
Kyler himself had been hemming and hawing with Dortch and Michael Wilson instead of targeting the franchise high draft pick.
TE McBride has only just come on lately but that's partly due to this TE enigma trend plaguing the league
Prater was hurt but has been servicable...mostly.
And the defense, not even worth mentioning smh.
The Seahawks have been competitive. Geno for one had probably been the most reliable and consistent QB in fantasy.
Metcalf has been hot & cold but mostly usable. JSN has shown flashes but really has surpassed Lockett.
TEs aren't worth writing home about. Streamers at best.
The darling of the season of the Hawks is Walker. When healthy, he has been the fantasy stud. Zach C. Has been amazing as a handcuff can be producing about the same when Walker is out.
Kicker Myers has been decent.
Defense tho... matchup dependent.
Rams have had it bad. Kupp goes down in week2 and Puka not so long after. This has made Stafford fall in reliability.
TEs aren't matchup dependent and defense is laughable.
We saw a glimpse of the fire power in TNF when the WRs returned in the early week 8 matchup.
Kyrein has being the fantasy darling as he never fails to score in each game
Purdy hasn't looked pretty as of late. The situation worsened when (in the same game) Aiyuk and Deebo went down. Jennings was a waiver wire warrior for fantasy teams. Moody getting hurt sucks. His replacement has missed a few fgs smh. Kittle surprisingly has been one of the top TEs *not just by name*. The CMC injury put teams in a tails pin unless they had or acquired Mason. Mason has been a steal for teams. The defense can be up & down - more so than past seasons. Aiyuk was a disappointment.

New Post has been published on https://www.packernet.com/blog/2023/08/10/what-really-matter-is/
What really matter is...
There’s an awful lot of chatter this time of year about things that, ultimately, don’t matter. The third QB, the 6th or 7th WR, the 4th tight end. Yes, these are real position and roster battles, but do they matter? Your 6th or 7th wide receiver won’t be active most weeks and if they are, they’ll only see playing time on special teams. Plus, let’s be real, if our third QB gets any game action, that means things have gone off the rails.
Invest in rookies
It’s possible the Packers will opt to carry only 3 tight-ends. At this point, rookies Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave are roster locks based on their draft status. That means veterans Josiah Deguara and Tyler Davis may be fighting for one job, depending on if they call Deguara a TE or a FB. What really matters: is getting Musgrave and Kraft as much playing time as possible. Tight end is one of the toughest positions to step into in the NFL. We already know the potential upside of Deguara and Davis is fairly limited.
RB Tyler Goodson continues to make plays in camp. Rookie Lew Nichols is a 7th round draft pick, and Brian Gutekunst is known for keeping his draft picks. What really matters is: a healthy Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon so Goodson and Nichols don’t become primary players this year.
We still don’t know a realistic return date for Eric Stokes due to his foot and knee injury. What really matters is 7th round draft pick Carrington Valentine reminds some of us of a rookie free agent who once started a Super Bowl for the Packers. How happy would the Packers be if Valentine is even close to as good as Sam Shields?
Elgetron & Bak
The Packers have enviable depth on the offensive line. Yosh Nijman, Josh Myers and Zach Tom are battling for two starting jobs. Caleb Jones, Rasheed Walker and Luke Tenuta are solid tackle prospects who could make many NFL rosters. Even Sean Rhyan, who, like me, many had written off, should make the final roster. What really matters is: good health from left guard Elgton Jenkins and maximizing the playing time of David Bakhtiari, clearly the teams’ best lineman.
Brian Gutekunst got some lousy reviews for taking QB Sean Clifford in the 5th round. Alex McGough has done little in the NFL but was named MVP of the USFL. Both have looked competent in camp. What really matters is: Jordan Love, Jordan Love and Jordan Love. Like most NFL teams, the Packers odds of success drop through the floor if they lose their starter for more than a game or two.
Let the man kick
Rookie kicker Anders Carlson has had some rough days. He’s also shown a strong leg, with some reporters saying the ball “explodes off his foot.” What really matters is: do the Packers have the patience and the stomach to deal with rough days from Carlson? As with Jordan Love, Carlson needs a long leash. Don’t repeat the Vikings mistake by panicking and cutting a legit talent like they did with his brother Daniel. Worst case scenario, there are free agent kickers out there.
Lukas Van Ness, Kingsley Enagbare, Preston Smith and Rashan Gary fresh off the PUP list can give the Packers a formidable pass rush. What really matters is caution with Rashan Gary. Players rarely perform at their peak ability until 18 months past an ACL surgery. I’ll be just fine if Gary isn’t active for the first few games.
Like 1967-the Summer of Love
Jordan Love has had an up and down camp. Sometimes he’s wowed with great passes. Other times he’s misses a big throw or hits defenders in the numbers with interceptions. What really matters is patience and progress. By the time the Packers visit Detroit on Thanksgiving, we should have a pretty good idea of what’s possible for the first-time starter.

Frightful October ’21 🎃 #15 ~ Michael Who? (Niou Masaharu)
Genre: Comedy, Fluff
Word Count: 1,701
Pairing: Reader x Niou
World: The Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
Spoopy season was upon the world, bringing with it chilly weather, orange and brown leaves that covered the ground and scares of all types. You adored Halloween and used it as an excuse to binge-watch an insane amount of horror stories online. There was just something special about them - the person's voice as they read the tale, maybe, or perhaps it's their claim that the tales are true and the sound effects chilling to the bone. You'd much rather watch them for hours on end rather than watch movies. In your opinion, horror movies were far too predictable to be enjoyed. The characters do stupid shit just to further the plot which, half the time, is rather dull to begin with.
Horror movies did not scare you the least bit. They didn't bring goosebumps to your skin or send chills down your spine, nor did they have you creeping around your house, looking for some spirit or serial killer. There was just no surprise and you often found yourself laughing throughout the film, earning glares from whoever you happened to be watching it with. Eventually, your friends just stopped inviting you over for movie night. This hurt you, of course, but you turned that hurt into anger. Let them have their shitty horror flicks, you'd rather be alone with your stories. You were tired of pretending to be scared or interested in the plot just to make them happy.
Good riddance, you thought.
But your resolve wavered as you watched your friends making plans in front of you, chatting excitedly about the movies they planned to watch and the snacks they wanted to eat that night. They invited whoever they felt like and a tiny spark of hope filled you when your friend Maka looked at you, but it only lasted a second before she looked away, acting as if you didn't exist. You frowned at your desk, slowly tossing your books into your bag.
"Niou-kun!" Maka smiled brightly at the silverette. "Do you want to join us for a spooky movie night? We're going to watch -"
"No thanks." Niou smirked at her surprised expression before he made his way over to your desk. He hadn't missed the exchange between the two of you and he had certainly noticed how your 'friends' stopped including you in their activities. You never talked about it and always made an excuse when he asked about it, but he knew it bothered you. You wore your heart on your sleeve like words on a page.
You blinked up at him, eyes narrowing at that familiar glint in his teal eyes. "Haru, what's wr -"
"I'm taking you to the movies, puri~" he declared, taking your bag from your hands and slinging it over his shoulder before taking you by the hand. You knew better than to argue when he's made up his mind, so you just let him pull you through the school. Though you wouldn't admit it out loud, you were happy that he wanted to watch a movie with you instead of your friends. You were happy that someone wanted to watch a movie with you at all.
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
You glanced at Niou as the two of you approached the movie theater. "Are you gonna tell me what movie we're seeing?"
He tapped his chin, pretending to think about the question. "Nope. Go wait by the door."
You tsked when he shooed you away, giving you no choice but to wait by the door, pulling your jacket tighter around your body as the wind picked up. The theater had been decorated with fake jack-o-lanterns by the glass door, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and inflatable ghosts dotted around the lobby inside. You smiled at them before walking down a few feet where various movie posters sat in glass frames, showing off what was currently being played. None of them really stood out to you until you reached the end of the line. Niou's footsteps alerted you to his arrival behind you but you didn't turn around.
"Can you believe this, Haru? Another Michael Myers movie! They're really milking this franchise for every yen, aren't they? How many times can you brutally maim and murder a man before he finally stops coming back? Eight times? Twenty? Thirty-five?" You shook your head in disapproval, crossing your arms over your chest. "Each one is basically the same movie, copy and pasted with only a few slight changes. Talk about lazy horror!" With your rant completed, you turned to look at Niou. "Will you tell me what we're seeing now?"
His eyes shimmered with amusement, lips quirked up into a smirk as he held two tickets between his index and middle finger.
You took them cautiously, reading the name printed there. "Halloween Kills..." The very same movie you had just criticized. Your eyes widened, guilt overcoming you. "Oh, Masaharu, I'm so sorry... I did it again. I really am terrible, no wonder they stopped asking me to join them for movie night..."
But Niou wasn't the least bit upset by your rant. He chuckled, resting his hand on top of your head and leaning closer. "You're not terrible, you're just passionate."
You searched his eyes. "You're not upset?"
"No. I know you well enough to know that you'd react that way." His smirk widened as he tapped his temple. "I'm the genius of Rikkai, puri~"
You laughed, knowing Marui would have something to say about that declaration. He took your hand and led you into the building, down the hall, and into the theater room showing Halloween Kills. The lights hadn't yet turned off, giving you plenty of light to see that not a single person was sitting inside. It made sense, you supposed, since it was a Monday afternoon, but you had still excepted to see at least a handful of people inside. You looked at Niou suspiciously, wondering if he had something to do with it. His smug expression told you he did and you were tempted to question him but figured you were better off not knowing. Though you doubted he would tell you, anyway.
"Let's sit in the front row," he suggested, not waiting for you to respond before tugging you over to the center of the first row. "Don't worry, if you get scared you can sit on my lap and I'll protect you." He patted his thigh, snickering when you rolled your eyes at him.
"Not gonna happen. Now shush, the movie's starting."
"Puri~"
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
Halfway through the film, you noticed movement from the corner of your eye and assumed it was either an employee checking on things or another movie-goer who was seriously late to the party. Either way, you just ignored them and shifted to find a more comfortable position in the plush chair. The figure stood there for a moment just staring at you before he started to creep toward you. It took you a moment to realize this and when you did, you squinted through the darkness to try and see who it was. It wasn't until they stood directly diagonal to you that you could see them properly. He was dressed from head to toe as Michael Myers himself, a knife brandished in his left hand. It was still too dark to tell if the knife was real, but you assumed it was just a prop.
You deadpanned at him. "Cute. You really think you're going to scare anyone like this? It's been done a million times. Can you believe this fool, Har -" You stopped short as you glanced to your right but Niou was nowhere to be seen. He wasn't the type to scare easily, so where the hell was he? Had he gone to the bathroom without telling you? You weren't that invested in the movie, how had you not realized he had gotten up?
In response, the man lifted the knife, its long blade looking quite real as it reflected the light of the movie.
"You're not scary, man. Give it a damn rest."
He just tilted his head and took slow, menacing steps toward you to close the distance.
"I commend your dedication. Really, I do, but you're more annoying than scary, man." With a scowl, you stood up and moved to brush past him but he grabbed your upper arm tightly, fingers digging into the sleeve of your jacket. "Let go of me! You're taking this gag too far. Do you want to be arrested? Or do you just want your ass ki -"
In the blink of an eye, he tugged on your arm and spun you around until your back was flat against his chest, his arm pressing across your throat to keep you in place and the knife angled in such a way that he could easily plunge it into your stomach. Your heart hammered wildly in your chest, panic rising within you as your eyes darted around, looking for anyone that could assist you or any way that you might be able to escape. There was none. Where the hell was Niou when you needed him the most? You felt ears brush against your ear and you shuddered in fear and disgust.
"Are you scared now, baby?"
You blinked, your adrenaline-filled brain needing a moment to process the words and the familiar voice that spoke them. When you realized what was happening, anger filled you and you elbowed him as hard as you could in the ribs, pulling yourself free from his grasp. "Niou Masaharu!"
He grunted, offering a pained smirk as he held his arm over his ribs.
"You're such a jerk!" You huffed, trying to hit him again but he grabbed your hand and tugged you closer until your face was just inches from his own.
His smirk had melted into a soft smile, his eyes locked with your own. "You finally felt scared during a horror movie."
You scowled at him, but it lacked your previous fire. "Jerk."
Niou gently rubbed his nose against yours and hummed. "I'm your jerk."
With a sigh, you brought your hand up to his cheek. "Yeah.... yeah, you are."
"Happy Halloween, baby~"

RWBY - After the Fall: Prologue
Obviously, SPOILERS AHEAD. If you haven’t read the book, probably skip this post. This is going to be more of a chapter-by-chapter liveblog than going through each sentence, mainly to preserve my sanity.
What I know: There were some spoilers going around but I think I skipped most of the serious ones. I did read a leaked page that was going around some months ago but I can hardly remember anything about it. So, here’s what I know:
Velvet is the PoV.
Coco is gay.
Fox (I think?) is blind.
They are studying in Vacuo
The cover art is really bad.
Oh, and there’s a character called “Carmine” that looks like Alolan Yang. Other than that I’m completely blind.
Apparently the book is canon (rather than “secondary canon” like the official manga) so my main hope for After the Fall is for it to give us information about things that could influence the show. I doubt it’ll be a game-changer, spinoffs never are, but at least some of it mattering in the long run would be nice.
Okay, without further ado, let’s do this!
Prologue
The main problem about secondary media is that they need to make me care about their main characters and their tribulations even if they are inconsequential for the main story that I actually like. The rational and objective argument against this would be “it should be able to stand on its own and be judged on its own merits” but I can’t claim to be objective.
So, did the prologue manage to sell me on team CFVY with Velvet as the main character? And the answer is: Eh.
It starts with Velvet thinking about how much everything about Vacuo sucks: its animals, its climate, its sand, even its people (more on that later) suck. And she never stops.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the book ends with Velvet learning to love Vacuo or something along those lines if only because of how frequently the prologue insists in telling me how much she hates the place and the circumstances that led her team to Vacuo. Which serves to set a mystery: why Vacuo?
It’s after the first of these ruminations that the prologue reveals its biggest surprise: Remnant has fauna besides dogs and birds! I’ve always complained about how live animals mostly don’t exist in the show so it’s nice that at least they get to be included here, the magic of not having to create 3d models~. They are just one more thing to hate about Vacuo , because they are giant murderous crabs that are trying to eat them, but it’s something.
The reveal of Fox’s semblance is a surprise too but in a “huh, that’s neat” way. I’m not sure I understand how it works though. It’s described as “teamspeak” but only Fox is shown “sending” thoughts. Can he hear the thoughts of his teammates or is it a one-way thing?
“Velvet thumbed through the images stored in the camera, looking for just the right one to help her friends. Professor Port, blunderbuss raised and aimed at a flock of Griffons in Amity Arena. Weiss Schnee, in a rare unguarded moment, with a giant glowing arm and sword hanging from a glyph floating behind her. Green-haired Reese Chloris leaning on her hoverboard after she and the rest of Team ABRN (Auburn) had defeated a Death Stalker.”
Velvet’s weapon is both cool and unpractical. The fight is mostly over when Coco is ambushed by a giant crab and Velvet has to stop to consider which of the weapons is the most appropriate. While Coco is fighting for her life. And then it transitions into a flashback. While Coco is fighting for her life.
But honestly, I don’t mind. The flashback is a lot more interesting that what’s going on.
“The sky was full of the wings and cries of Griffons, terrible flying Grimm monsters that had carried off several classmates and tourists, shattering the peace of the festival”
The fall of Beacon was terrible, the show made it clear, but it’s interesting to read how terrible it was for everyone.
“ In the last hour, they had seen their friend Penny Polendina torn apart by her own weapons. ”
WHY MUST YOU REMIND ME
Anyway, I’m not sure how I feel about the flashback. I love that it uses the bit between Ruby and Weiss leaving the docks and them arriving at the tower; it doesn’t feel as forced as I would have thought. But, I have the niggling thought it shouldn’t have been used so soon, let me learn more about CFVY before using the big guns that are the RWBY team.
It does gives us more characterization for Velvet though so I can’t complain too much. So far her character is: Dislikes sand (you know who else didn’t like sand? can’t wait for Darth Scarlatina) Vacuo and has an enormous desire to prove herself (it doesn’t help that she gets a bit coddled by her team). It’s not much but it should be enough to drive her character through the plot.
“Team RWBY hadn’t returned after the fall of Beacon, and no one knew exactly where Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang were now.”
This is a year after the fall of Beacon so I think CFVY are a bit into the future, maybe a couple of months. Team RWBY has done nothing too noteworthy so far in Atlas.
Moving on, Velvet finally chooses a weapon (from Fox, which makes all the sense in the world because she can take all the pictures she wants from her teammates. Actually, shouldn’t it be always the first choice and summoned ASAP and only afterwards think if the situation requires something else? Hm.) but instead of going to help her friends, she goes help an injured person.
“They’ll be fine for now, and besides, we don’t leave people behind. Not anymore.”
Which… makes sense for a huntress, even if the sentiment is somewhat heavy-handed. Also, is this is a reference to “I May Fall”?
There’s a day when all courage collapses And our friends turn and leave us behind
Because if it is, all is forgiven.
The short fight that follows is… short, but it does its job to sell me that Velvet can fight without blowing through her entire picture album. I hoped her moves would match the one time I have seen Fox fight (in “Breach”) since she’s using his fighting style but it’s mostly jumping around.
And then they meet Slate, who is who I was talking about when I mentioned that Vacuo’s people suck. Every time Vacuo is mentioned in the show it’s accompanied with something about how there are only thieves and scoundrels, that surviving is above everything else. And every time I think “it’s an entire kingdom, how can you know” but I let it go because it could be an in-universe stereotype.
But nope.
“Surviving is what we do here, or don’t,” Slate went on. “We look out for one another, but if it’s down to your life or someone else’s, you choose your own. No hard feelings.”
She’s the first person from Vacuo the book introduces and she’s just like everyone said Vacuans were. Welp. It reminds me of Star Wars and how secondary characters get their characterization through their species and/or planet. A hard place with hard people *yawn*
On the bright side, the encounter allows Coco to show her over the top personality and it’s amazing.
“We’re Shade Academy’s newest star pupils. Team CFVY. I’m Coco, and that’s Fox, Velvet, and Yatsuhashi.” Coco pointed out her teammates.”
“Fortunately, I had this broken wagon,” Slate went on. “I stayed with it and hoped for the best.” “That’s us,” Coco said. “The best have arrived.”
Coco has a strong enough personality that it makes me wish the book was from her PoV. Not that Velvet is not interesting, but she seems to be largely passive, mostly complaining in her own head. It is her start point so I’m hoping she gets better by the end of the novel.
I think the prologue does a good job introducing the characters and the main threads the book will follow: Velvet really dislikes Vacuo, and the second flashback solidifies the idea that something happened that made everyone go to Shade. The way the prologue ends, with Velvet once again asking herself why they had to leave Beacon, makes it clear that it’ll be important through the book.
So, what happened? I don’t have the slightest. They probably desired to continue their education and Fox is from there so that’s a vote for the continent, but did Velvet never complain?
“I don’t know how safe we’ll be,” Slate said. “Something odd’s been going on.” “What do you mean?” Coco asked. “Let’s just say we aren’t one big happy family lately. Not anymore. But there’s time for that later. I’m taking the big one. Looks like she might be carrying egg sacs.” Slate scampered off toward the dead mother crab and then carved out a hefty chunk of meat.”
A hint of a main plot has appeared! There was some already, with CFVY having been sent by Shade to defend a settlement being attacked (by Grimm?), but this looks more personal. Are they going to get involved in Slate’s problems, with Velvet learning to appreciate Vacuo and its people thanks to Slate and maybe also learning how to stand up for herself earning the respect of her teammates (that she always had but she didn’t know)? Eh, probably. But at least it should be fun to read.
Random thoughts
“Fox spoke aloud only when they were in mixed company, or when he really wanted people to listen.” but in the prologue he always uses his power. Even with Slate when talking about the crab meat. It’s like the editor did a Search and Replace of “Fox said” and replaced “said” with “sent”.
Since Velvet’s semblance is “photographic memory”, I thought the flashbacks were part of that, especially considering there are two in a very short amount of time. But, the flashbacks go from third-person limited to a more omniscient point of view so I’m not sure if that theory tracks.
Glynda finally reappears! Poor character, relegated to flashbacks and non-speaking media.
One way to separate fanfiction from official works is that official spinoffs always explains concepts (Aura, Semblances, etc) that should be clear if you have ever watched the show. But who would pick up this book without having watched RWBY?
CFVY has been in Vacuo for more than a year but Velvet’s character reads like she’s suffering from culture shock. It’s like Myers wrote the character and only afterwards decided how long they had been there.

Cop or Drop: Week 3 Edition Holds Lots Of New Possibilities

Fantasy football managers were treated to an intense Week 3. Christian McCaffrey was injured, Mike Williams exploded for big numbers, and players like Patrick Mahomes stuttered en route to losses or slim wins. The confusing events might have managers confused on who to claim on waivers, who to release, and who to trade for. Down below, I’ll try and guess which players will have what kind of games and how managers should act accordingly in this edition of Cop or Drop.
Cop Or Drop: Taylor Heinicke’s Happy Day
Embed from Getty Images Heinicke’s performance against the Bills wasn’t half-bad. He threw two touchdowns, completed 14 passes in 24 attempts, and had 21 rushing yards in eight carries. Although Heinicke threw two interceptions and the offense isn’t centered around him, Heinicke could be a steal. Only 5% of ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues have him rostered, and that doesn’t reflect his hot start. Although Heinicke has had hiccups, he could be a nice steal. He could tear up a weak Falcons secondary if he wins the confidence of his coach. For now, he’s a safe waiver play. Get him on your rosters and either start him(if you’re really that desperate) or bench him and see how he plays out.
QB Drop: Zach Wilson
Embed from Getty Images As usual, the New York Jets don’t look like Super Bowl winners. And the QB is representative of that. In his first three games, Wilson has been intercepted seven times, thrown for two touchdowns, and was only able to manage 628 passing yards. The offense has been chaotic, and it will only get more unruly with an untested rookie quarterback at the helm. Even though the Titans aren’t an elite football team, managers should drop Wilson. There’s always the chance that he recovers from the disappointing start, but it looks faint.
RB Cop: Chuba Hubbard
Embed from Getty Images Although Hubbard isn’t McCaffrey material, Carolina’s ground game has been extraordinary. Additionally, Hubbard didn’t do half-bad in McCaffrey’s absence. His 11 carries and 52 yards alongside 3 receptions and 27 yards helped Carolina to victory over the Texans. Hubbard has shown a lot of promise with Oklahoma State, but for now, it’s best to acquire him, wait and see how Hubbard does against the Cowboys.
RB Drop: Phillip Lindsay
Embed from Getty Images Lindsay isn’t the best option for fantasy managers. The Texans running back doesn’t play as much as Mark Ingram II or David Johnson, so he isn’t really the best option. His seven carries for five yards against Carolina means that Ingram or Johnson should be a better play. Buffalo, a formidable opponent, lays in wait. Drop him for RBs with more favorable matchups, or even for Ingram or Johnson.
WR Cop: Jakobi Meyers
Embed from Getty Images New England receiver Jakobi Meyers had a productive night against the Saints. His stat line included nine receptions, 94 receiving yards, alongside a whopping fourteen targets. Ahead of a matchup with the porous Buccaneers defense, Meyers, if he receives enough targets, could be a nice under-the-radar pickup. He isn’t a real starter though.
WR Drop: Elijah Moore
Embed from Getty Images Not only is Moore not the first-choice receiver on the Jets, but he’s also questionable for their clash against the Titans. Moore caught three passes for 22 receiving yards while being targeted twice. There are better options than Moore, especially taking into consideration the fact that the Jets stink.
TE Cop: Dalton Schultz
Embed from Getty Images Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz turned in a solid stat line(6 REC, 80 YDS, 2 TDs), elevating him to top-tier tight end status. It only helps that he was doing OK before his breakout game against the Eagles. The only knock against Schultz would be his small amount of targets and an underwhelming game against the Chargers. His game against Carolina will be the main test in his season. Schultz could be a dependable starter if he can get more targets and prove himself against the Panthers.
TE Drop: Jonnu Smith
Embed from Getty Images This one is a little more straightforward. Smith and Hunter Henry are splitting snaps and targets, meaning Smith won’t have the targets needed to become an A+ TE. Smith has usually been a dependable tight end when he catches, but splitting snaps, a disappointing performance against the Saints, and there being better options means that Smith shouldn’t be trusted. Cop or drop? This one’s definitely a drop. There are at least 20 tight ends better than Smith.
D/ST Cop: Saints D/ST
Embed from Getty Images Is the New Orleans defense the best in the league? Maybe not, but they have a case for it. They have six interceptions, six sacks, a fumble recovery, and only 42 points allowed(third-least in the league behind Panthers and Broncos). A favorable matchup against the Giants should give you more incentive to pick him up. They’re very good as a defensive unit and can get you the points need to pull an upset over your opponent.
D/ST Drop: Ravens D/ST
Embed from Getty Images On the other end of the spectrum, Baltimore is doing worse. The Ravens have given up 79 points, and, even though they’ve shown signs of improving, they don’t look like the team to trust. There are better options to choose from, and, if you have faith in the Ravens unit, you should at least bench them. On the cop or drop list, the Ravens have one of the better chances to recover, as evidence by their decent performance in Week 3.
K Cop: Daniel Carlson
Embed from Getty Images To the 32% of ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues who don’t have Carlson rostered: what are you doing? Carlson is having a surprisingly good season and is statistically the best kicker in the NFL right now. His Raiders team is good offensively, and because he’s a field goal and extra point machine, that means bonus fantasy football points to use to your advantage. Carlson is golden in field goal attempts and has only missed one extra point attempt. This kicker should be a starter unless something happens to the Las Vegas offense. That shouldn’t even have been a cop or drop. This is a start-or-start: Carlson will be one of the best kickers in the league.
K Drop: Jason Myers
Embed from Getty Images Myers hasn’t come roaring out of the gates like some of his contemporaries. He was limited to three field-goal tries, and he missed one of them. Although Myers has been able to sink nine out of ten extra-point attempts, there are kickers out there who can give you extra-point attempts and lots of FG attempts. Myers is either sitting on the bench, or he’s being dropped. I wouldn’t go forward and start players on the Cop or Drop list. I wouldn’t drop a lot of the players on the list either. It depends on the team you have and what strategy you’re going for. If you want to talk about fantasy football with me, come on down to the WorldInSport forums. It has a lot of useful information, and I’ll be there a lot.

Take a look at the final kill below 🔪 🩸
It was a tit 4 tat fight as you could see:
Johnny got 🔪 at QB (30 to 49)
Johnny fought back at WR 🩸 (30 to 26)
Johnny fought hard at RB 🩸(30 to 17)
Johnny got 🔪 at TE (6 to 8)
A stalemate at the Flex position 🔪 🩸(5 to 2)
Johnny assumed final blow at DEF 🩸(14 to 39)
Johnny fought valiantly at Kicker 🩸(12 to 3)
Crazy how it seemed Johnny had the advantage in his struggle against Michael "Myers" Oliver but the QB/DEF horror slashing was just too much to overcome.

If the Bills’ top targets are drafted before pick No. 30, Asante Samuel Jr. is a nice consolation prize

Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports
Samuel has the athleticism and skill set to earn a starting job early on with the Bills.
The first-round selections to this point in SB Nation’s NFL writers’ mock draft weren’t kind to the Bills, who had to watch and wait as talented players were snapped up by other teams. That’s how it goes when picking at the end of the round, which is unfamiliar territory for this franchise.
Though Brandon Beane re-signed nearly every contributor to last year’s squad that appeared in the AFC Championship, and added key depth and pieces like Emmanuel Sanders, the team still needs to upgrade where it can, if it hopes to conquer the AFC and compete for the Super Bowl.
The Bills don’t have obvious roster holes; just divots here and there. Cornerback Levi Wallace has been fine for three seasons, but the team could use an upgrade. The same goes with the offensive line, aside from Dion Dawkins. Though Cody Ford, Mitch Morse, Jon Feliciano, and Daryl Williams make up the remainder of a solid unit, Buffalo might want a new player to challenge for a starting role.
On the defensive line, their starting ends are 33 and 34 years old this year. Their tackles were a weak point, even though Star Lotulelei returns to the mix after sitting out the 2020 season. Finally, an offensive weapon isn’t out of the question. Sanders is 34 and Cole Beasley is 32, and the team’s starting running backs, Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, aren’t big-play threats.
Back to the board. Three edge rushers (Jaelan Phillips, Kwity Paye, Azeez Ojulari) gone. The top defensive tackle in a weak draft (Christian Barmore) picked. Patrick Surtain II, Jaycee Horn, Caleb Farley, and Greg Newsome all taken at cornerback. Newsome, picked one slot before the Bills, was a killer — his size and skillset is exactly what Buffalo would covet.
Buffalo could’ve chosen a project edge rusher like Jayson Oweh or Gregory Rousseau. Both players flashed like top NFL prospects, albeit in short college careers. The problem is they might not be able to help with a Super Bowl run this year. Kadarius Toney or Elijah Moore could give the Bills a dangerous all-purpose weapon on offense. Or they could’ve taken a lineman like Creed Humphrey and hoped he wins a starting role in camp. Ultimately, they went with a defensive back with NFL bloodlines who fell due to his small size.
From Buffalo Rumblings’ Matt Rich Warren:
Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane has closed all of the team’s holes heading into the Draft, so it’s about upgrading, improving, and planning ahead. Our top pass rushers were gone and we targeted Greg Newsome, but then he was picked at 29. The only guy left on each of our experts’ short lists was Samuel, though he was only the top choice on one. Pairing him with Tre’Davious White significantly upgrades their CB2 spot for years to come and he’ll likely be able to start Week 1 or at least some point in the season.
Samuel might be the most “pro-ready” cornerback out of the remaining bunch. His lack of length is an issue, but the Bills found great success with 5’11, 192-pound Tre’Davious White. A fierce competitor and one of the few bright spots on a terrible defense, Samuel has the mentality to earn a starting job out of training camp.
The Bills defense is filled with underrated talent like Jordan Poyer, Jerry Hughes, and Matt Milano. Samuel will fit right in. His smooth footwork could also earn him a nickel role over Taron Johnson, if the Bills decide they prefer Wallace’s size on the outside.
Top prospects remaining:
Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami
Nick Bolton, ILB, Missouri
Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss
