20 questions for fic writers
Thank you for tagging me, @jaimebluesq!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 50!
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 133,410
3. What fandoms do you write for? MDZS, fairly exclusively right now. Aside from that: Cardcaptor Sakura is the fandom I first wrote fanfic for. I’ve written some X/TB, Tenipuri, Kamen Rider, some others. But to be honest, in most fandoms I don’t write much, if at all.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
And I will stay with you / And you will keep me close, which I just call the Sangcheng Roommates AU. This has stalled for reasons, but I do want to finish it. It’s a fun concept.
When a secret isn’t really secret, a Touya/Yuki fic! It’s actually just Yukito and Fujitaka talking about Yukito and Touya’s relationship, Touya is barely in it 😂
Heart-opening flow, my sangcheng yoga au, the first sangcheng fic I ever wrote.
The Half-Eaten Peach Longs to be Filled with Cream. Okay, I love this one. It’s sangcheng, and it’s porn.
Stay, also sangcheng. Modern au, first time they have sex. Technically it has the same rating as number 4, but it’s nowhere near as filthy.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I try to, because while I write fic for me, the reason I share it is in the hope of getting to have conversations with others that like the characters and ship as much as I do.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I mean, I don’t really do angst, but I suppose Yaguruma’s Hell because it’s Yaguruma thinking about how he’ll take Kageyama away and they’ll be together, and that’s just before, well. Spoilers for Yaguruma and Kageyama’s story in Kamen Rider Kabuto. It doesn’t actually go into the ending, it relies on you knowing what happens.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I really don’t know. I mostly write fluff, and most of them have happy endings.
8. Do you get hate on fics? I never have. I feel like mostly you don’t get hate if you don’t write for particularly popular ships in popular fandoms. Although, if I’d gotten into MDZS just 6 months or so earlier, I might have gotten hate by the infamous troll that went around harassing sangcheng fans.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Sure do! And well… I suppose you could say I often write FLUFFY smut, because it’s about characters that have strong feelings about each other, but I’d also like to think I write fairly dirty smutty (but not particularly kinky). Probably the best example of what I mean is Hold the doors, which is a nielan fic about Lan Xichen giving his neighbor that he just met, Nie Mingjue, a blowjob. It has been described as both filthy and soft.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Nope, not my thing, as a writer or reader.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Also nope.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Probably Touya/Yukito, because it’s about than the ship itself for me at this point. They’re what got me into CLAMP, and also what got me into shipping, and I made a fansite for them that was the first site I made of any kind and that is still online. They’re the reason I learned to code.
Or sangcheng. It maybe recency bias, but they've certainly gotten me to produce more fic than any other ship.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Isolated Incidents, a fic about Touya and Yukito kissing. It would have been fine if I had just made it a one shot about their first kiss, but instead I decided that it would have MORE, and that I'd explore the evolution of their relationship through different kisses. It was a good idea at the time, I'd just gotten actively back into CLAMP fandom, had recoded the Touya/Yukito shrine in modern HTML and CSS, and was rewatching Cardcaptor Sakura and writting short little fics for them again. But then December 2020 came, and I decided to read MDZS... and that pretty much took over my fandom life. There's MDZS fics I haven't worked on in quite a while, but since I'm still actively in this fandom, they aren't in "probably won't finish" territory.
16. What are your writing strengths? I think I write amusing stories, and I’m not embarrassed to write smut. Also, I think I tend to have fairly defined voices for characters.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Consistency in the sense of sticking with writing a thing. Actual plot. Those go hand in hand. It’s very hard for me to write long fics for those reasons. I often have IDEAS for fics I really like, and I might sort of… loosely plot them out, but in no way enough to actually write most of them.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Unless you actually KNOW something of the language, just avoid it. You’ll probably make a fool of yourself otherwise.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Cardcaptor Sakura, Touya/Yukito.
20. Favorite fic you've written? I don’t have a favorite. Unsatisfying, I know.
Not tagging anyone,
Changed my mind! Tagging @mulberrylotus @telperintal @angie-s-g @revesdelimonade
Anyone else do it if you want to!

I feel like I'm not alone in the 2024 return to tenipuri! My return was April to contracts.
My first interaction with Prince of Tennis was either in 2006 or 2008 (I doubt it was 2005) when I saw it airing during a summer vacation in China on BTV10 (before it became the cartoon Kaku channel). Then around 2009 is when I dove into fanfiction dot net, created an account, and slowly started to really immerse myself in various stories as a reader. I was and am especially fond of the OC community from the nonfiction community, and I hold a lot of those works, authors, and memories with such positive memories. My distancing from tenipuri coincideding with going through high school and college, as I generally distanced from both anime & manage in general and the various OC authors previously mentioned slowly started to leave the FF community (school/ work/ life/ left fandom etc). At this point during these years, I was a manga-canon girl only.
I had a brief stint in college where I binge read the manga again, sometime during 2017-2018....and am mini revival of certain stories (@xcoffeelatte @tcafs08) and then I came back to tumblr to try to eat my feelings and felt the joy of being a fangirl.
It seems that unlike @galaticyarn I this time around decided to join discord, AO3, and try my hand in writing fics. I don't play Tenirabi given its all in japanese and i just really dislike rhythm games in general, but i love reading the fan-translated events in it (i wish i liked rhythym game). I never previously read any of the BL/ shonenai ships in prince of tennis....was all het (Female OC x tenipuri character; KiriAn, and RyoSaku), so to me, engaging and indulging in a large part of the fandom has been eyeopening. I don't actively ship, have a few ships I'm not a fan of...but overall much more mellow.
THEN I DID SHINTENI which put me off of tenipuri initially cause i was so MAD by the whole premise (still kinda am but its more of an "is what it is attitude". Twitter is much more active than discord, but overall fandom seems to be in a mini-lul period (unless tenimyu. that causes some commotion the past few weeks).
IDK how long this venture back to tenipuri fandom will have on me...but each time it's such a fun time back down memory lane (and adding to it. like...RYOGA? mouri? also freaking just learned so many years late FUJI ALMOST TRANSFERED TO RIKKAI WILL NEVER stop to shock me).
Blabbering about Tenipuri
In early 2024, I finally read The New Prince of Tennis and had so many thoughts that I figured I may as well write them up for sharing. I got into The Prince of Tennis around 2006 when I was the same age as some of the characters. These were the days of Livejournal, as well as fanfiction dot net, AKA the pit of voles. My favorite ship was InuKai. Over the next few years, I gradually faded out of the fandom until I basically didn’t think about Tenipuri whatsoever. From roughly 2012-2017, I wasn’t really in online fandom at all. I never made the change from LJ to Twitter or Tumblr.
Sometime around 2016, I got back into Tenipuri because of a friend on Plurk, a social media site that still shows you posts from people you follow in chronological order. I ended up joining the Tenipuri Discord as well as AO3, watched some of Tenimyu for the first time, and wrote fics for the first time since the LJ days. I started playing Rising Beat, and went downhill from there (in a good way.) As an adult, my views on the characters that I used to dislike have softened to the point that I pretty much like all of them. My favorite individuals and ships definitely shifted around and I’d be hard pressed to pick only one character or one ship, because I get different things out of each.
Now that I have read Shinteni, I gained 5 (five!) new ships. For a while they were filling my mind when I would wake up earlier than my alarm, and when I would try to fall asleep. I guess this goes to show how very much I am into Tenipuri. I haven't been very active in fandom Discord servers now that those seem to be where everyone is, but I’m feeling the urge to try online fandom again. I can’t believe I missed out on the Tenirabi zines because I had muted the entire server…
All this to say I’m back :)

🐇 Easter Candy (Ryoma Echizen)
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 947
Pairing: Reader x Ryoma
World: Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
You sat under a tree near the tennis courts, playing a game on your Vita. Honestly, you weren’t all that interested in tennis but, since your boyfriend was a tennis freak, you often found yourself near the tennis courts more often than you’d like. Ryoma was a good boyfriend, though, and knows that you’re not interested, so he uses his allowance to buy new games for your Vita to keep you occupied while you wait on him.
Today was different, though.
Ryoma approached you, placing his hat on top of your head to get your attention. “Let’s go, senpai.”
You looked up at him in confusion. “Practice is over already?”
“Buchou is sending me to run an errand.” He frowned, stuffing his hands into his pockets. “You’re coming with me.”
You rolled your eyes, placing your vita into its case and into your bag. “Thanks for giving me a choice.”
He smirked, grabbing your hand and pulling you toward the school gate. You shifted your hand to lace your fingers together. His smirk changed into a smile and he looked away since he couldn’t hide it beneath his cap.
“Where are we going, anyway?”
“To buy candy.”
“Candy?” You glanced at him curiously. “What for?”
“Atobe’s Easter festival.”
You frowned. “Atobe is hosting an Easter festival? We’re not going, are we?” You could feel anxiety bubbling in your stomach just from the thought of attending the festival. There would be so many people there… you shivered without even realizing it, but Ryoma caught it easily.
He knew about your anxiety disorder and how freaked you get when you’re around a lot of people. That was how the two of you met, actually – he found you during a panic attack and, although he had no idea what he was doing, he did his best to calm you down.
He squeezed your hand to show he understood. “No, it’ll be too much of a pain. Buchou said that he’d cover for us if I bought the candy, so I agreed.”
You bit your lip, feeling a bit guilty. “It’s okay if you want to go. You should hang out with your friends~”
He stopped walking, narrowing his cat-like eyes at you. “I see them every day. I’d rather spend time with you, senpai.”
Your cheeks warmed up a bit, your heart fluttering with happiness. You pressed your lips to his cheek. “Thank you, Ryoma.”
His cheeks burned and he quickly reached up to tug his cap down only to pout when he remembered that you had it. He glared at you when you started laughing so you decided to return the cap to its rightful owner.
“Let’s just get this over with.”
It didn’t take long to reach the grocery store. You headed straight for the candy aisle and to your favorite holiday treat – peeps. Before you could grab them, though, Ryoma stopped you.
“Someone else is in charge of getting peeps. We’re here to get everything else.”
You frowned, sending a longing look at the peeps before turning toward the rest of the candy. “So we just get… everything?”
He nodded as he started carelessly throwing bags upon bags of candy into the shopping cart. You chuckled at his attitude before giving him a hand. Once the cart was overflowing with candy, you decided to stop and head for the check-out counter. Ryoma had other plans, though, and disappeared before you arrived there.
The cashier looked at you with wide eyes as you started to dump the bags onto the belt. You could only smile sheepishly at him as he started to ring them up. Ryoma returned a few minutes later, his arms full of Ponta. He dumped the cans onto the belt and grinned at you.
“That’s not candy.” You grinned, patting his head.
He smacked your hand away. “He’ll get over it.”
It took a full twenty minutes for the guy to ring up all of the items, and you had to use the cart to bring them outside. Your brow furrowed.
“How are we supposed to get this stuff home?”
He pointed at a slick, black limo sitting off to the side. “Atobe sent a limo to collect all the items.”
You followed the younger male to the limo, where the driver bowed at you before loading the bags into the backseat.
“Can I bring you home?” The driver questioned with a soft smile.
Ryoma shook his head and you thanked the man before following after your boyfriend. He was carrying the bag full of Ponta, but you noticed a separate bag.
“Did you take that by accident?” you questioned, pointing to the second bag.
He pulled his cap down before handing it over to you.
You blinked at the bag. Inside was a single box of sky blue peeps in the shape of little chicks.
“They’re your favorite, right?” he questioned, still refusing to look at you.
“Ryoma…” You smiled brightly, throwing your arms around his neck, bringing his back flush against your chest. “I love you, chibi-chan~”
“Don’t call me that.” He scowled, feeling his cheeks burn with embarrassment. “It’s not that big of a deal.” In truth, he knew that it would be nearly impossible to find a store selling peeps after tomorrow, so he wanted to make sure that you got a box before they disappeared.
You kissed his cheek and smiled brightly. “Let’s hurry home, okay? We can share them~!”
Despite himself, he couldn’t stop the smile that grew on his face when he saw your happy expression. He would never admit it out loud, but he always felt pride when he was able to make you feel happy.

could you do some headcanons for atobe spoiling his s/o please, maybe for a special event? Thank you for this blog, I love your writing!
(i can only imagine the crazy stuff atobe does for his partner—if you’ve seen the movie “atobe’s gift” that whole thing was for kabaji so... imagine if he’s in love with someone :0 )
Ohhh, baby Atobe goes all out when spoiling his s/o. Not just because he can, but because he wants his s/o to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible. He loves spoiling his s/o, and knowing him, he has different tiers of spoilage based on what kind of event it is.
For holidays, he’ll have his maids draw up a bath with nice fragrant soaps and flower petals, he’ll schedule alone time, book different kinds of entertainment (think magicians, maybe even a whole circus if he’s feeling spicy).
For his s/o’s birthday he wants to make his s/o feel extra special, even if it’s just clearing his schedule and having the most romantic date and dinner with them. Birthdays can be unpleasant for some people, so most of what Atobe wants to do is to make his s/o feel loved and precious.
For anniversaries he goes the extra mile, vacations alone, spa days, romantic dates, giant flower bouquets to decorate the room (and a supply of highly effective allergy meds if necessary). These are the events when he puts his big brain to use and does everything in his power to spoil his s/o.
Anything his s/o wants, his s/o gets, and if they’re not usually the kind of person to ask for things, then he’ll exercise his own judgement (which, as we’ve seen, can make him go above and beyond) and think of special ways to pamper his s/o. And wouldn’t you know it, each year he somehow thinks of something bigger and better, because even if it’s himself, Atobe refuses to lose.

I love your blog and the stories and also the angsty on yukimura x reader really heartbreaking...GOSH IM CRYING! I want to request can you do Marui x reader??? thanks!
Ahh thank you sm for reading that! I really thought it was bad but I’m glad you enjoyed that fic :’^D
Hopefully you’d enjoy this just as much! I didn’t know what to write about, so I just chose puppy love(?) fluff ✨✨✨
Note: (y/c) is ‘your collection’ btw! Initially I put vinyls but not everyone collects that so I just put whatever you as a reader would collect ✨✨✨
Marui Bunta x Reader
“Oh no, its raining now Marui-kun,” you said with a sigh. Neither of you had brought an umbrella along, you had always most of the time depended on someone else’s umbrella so most of the time it wasn’t a problem.
Unluckily for you, Marui was just like you.
Luckily for Marui though, it meant that he had more time to spend with you. And maybe go for another round of desserts in the bakery you both just exited from.
“Hey, care for another round of dessert?” he’d nudge you by the shoulder and showed his gummy smile.
“Maruiiiii,” you whined “I’m gonna be broke, and its all because of you,”
“Aw c’mon (y/n), you can spend loads on your whatever you call those-“
“(y/c)! Theyre called (y/c)!” you corrected him
“Ah yes, (y/c), but you’re not willing to be broke, spending time with me?” he exaggerated his sad tone and looked at you with puppy dog eyes.
“Please? Just this once? I’ll treat you next time please?”
You sighed yet again and said bye bye to your allowance this month
“Fine, geez you’re the biggest brat I know,” you pinched his arm and he jumped a lil
“But I’m your favourite tensai brat right? That’s a fact, btw,” you looked at him and sticked your tongue out.
You can’t believe how you actually have a big fat crush on this self-proclaimed genius. He was cute, but good lord he can really get on your nerves.
You guys haven’t really confessed to each other or anything, but it was pretty obvious to people around you, and to the both of you, that you guys liked each other. So you guys were basically an item.
A thing about Marui and you, whenever you guys sat on the same table you always played footsies; your friends are well, tired and kept telling the both of you to get a room.
Both of you would go red afterwards and just divert the attention to something else.
“I really don’t understand how you managed to rlly finish those, watching you eat, really makes my teeth hurt,” you held your cheek.
“Well if you’re not gonna eat then that’s more for me right? Thanks for the meal!” he’d gobble those cakes like its no one’s business. In all honesty, you loved seeing him eat his heart out. It was adorable and you just wanted to squish his cheeks.
Marui held your hand and squeezing them slightly before intertwining your fingers together.
“Nhyou brobly hbnow tghish but I laig nhyou,” he said looking at his cake and his ears as red as his hair.
You actually understood what he said but you teased him and told him that you don’t understand it; and that he’d have to repeat it again.
“I said,” he inhaled “Ireallylikeyouevenifyouprobablyalreadyknowit” he exhaled.
“But I bet you’re glad cause the genius said that right?” He coughed a bit and tried to remain smug but his face, dear lord, is still so red even up to his ears.
You giggled and smiled at him brightly
“You also probably know this, but, I feel the same way!”
“What do you mean same way? You should say it like how I did too (y/n)! That’s not fair,” he pouted
“Hey the rain stopped Marui-kun! You should hurry up and finish your food, its getting late already,” you changed the topic, still smiling ear to ear though
Marui groaned and hurriedly finished it, you were surprised he managed to not choke.
And the both of you walked home together, fingers intertwined.
- Extra -
Niou looked at you two in disgust. “Seriously guys? You’re publicly holding hands? Ew?” he shuddered
Everyone just said oh dear lord finally but oh dear lord pda
But you didn’t care, and you just hooked arms with Marui more often!
Marui though, is quite embarrassed but he didn’t mind, but he also did mind sometimes, but what can he do, its you anyway

( It's genius ) ”
he would look at you swallowing all his length in while showering you with praise “ you're taking me so good ”
Also also , he would tease you first before entering you ( I see him as a tease in bed and you can't change my mind ) he would brush his tip on your clit and rubbing it 'till you start begging for him with your eyes all teary and messy blushing face
he's not exactly rough but won't go easy on you either , but mostly will thrust in you fast and deep making you see stars but it's satisfying ..
He's weak when get neck kisses from you while you're doing it
Bunta moans like a whore .

7 Days of Tenipuri
Day 2: Favourite school.
Tumblr media
All of them are utter cuties.
Tumblr media
Look at them!!! They built a snow buchou!!!! I’ve just noticed the studs on Ryoma’s trousers.... they’re not going to be comfortable to wear in the snow
I just love their team dynamics and how they’re all really close and how they assimilated Ryoma into their weird little family. I’m going to go through them one by one and express my undying love for them!
Tumblr media
Ryoma is number 1 brat in my heart. He’s cute and spiky, but he really loves Seigaku and all his team mates, he will beat up guys twice his size just to protect his friends (and then insult them because he’s too cool for being nice lol). He’s too good at tennis and his eyes are too big for his face and I love him.
Tumblr media
My favourite buchou! The buchou who makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside! He’s all stoic and captain-y on the outside, but inside he is just. such. a. dork! I’m not sure how he manages to survive to be honest #protecttezukabuchou2017
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love him. Please keep being your dumb self forever.
Tumblr media
My medium sized evil son. Fuji is creepy, this isn’t an insult, he’s creepy and I love him. Like, he genuinely does love all his friends, but he also loves messing with them, which is fantastic! He’s one of the most fun characters to write, especially when you get him messing with TezuRyo, I have the best time writing that!
Tumblr media
Most people would put Taka-san at the bottom of the list. That makes me sad. Taka-san is such a cutie and he’s really buff. If you put a gun to my head and made me have to pick a tennis boy to date I would chose Taka-san. I wish he made more screentime, but he’s not popular so I’m glad he’s in the main team so I can watch him sit at the back and not do much (thank you tenimyu for giving my darling boy more songs than his popularity dictates he should have had). Also, you could argue that he’s one of the first gay characters in a sports anime!
Tumblr media
“I love Eiji,” tumblr user solosorca says as she continuously makes fun of him. I just... I find it really hard to flail over Eiji because I can’t stop laughing at how dumb he is. I really do love him though, he’s a bright ray of sunshine who really shouldn’t be allowed to sing....
Tumblr media
This picture came from a page entitled ‘who is the most hated of Seigaku’. I didn’t read the answer, but if it was Oishi I will personally find the people who voted for this and punch them. Oishi is wonderful and sweet and really dumb and adorable. Please protect him. And give him more songs because he can sing really well.
Tumblr media
Inui is amazing and I’ll hear no words against him. Despite being knocked out of the regulars by a brat he doesn't pout or run away *cough*momo*cough* he immediately does what he can to help the team reach their goal. He’s really cool and not just a butt joke.
Tumblr media
The tennis boy who is 100% moe. He’s so cute, would 100% hug him and pat his head! I love how dedicated he is and he tries to be all tough but he really isn’t, especially when a cat appears. I hope he can surround himself with cute animals.
Tumblr media
Momo’s my least favourite Seigaku, but I still love him! I’m glad Ryoma has such a good bff to drag him around and try and get him to socialise haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Please protect my sons.
As a side note, Taka-san and Oishi are the only ones who don’t get ‘x reader’ as an option when you google their names, once again proving that fangirls have zero taste.

🐇 Easter Peeps (Kazuya Tokugawa)
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff, Comedy
Word Count: 829
Pairing: Reader x Tokugawa
World: Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
“The nerve of that brat,” you grumbled as you stomped down the sidewalk.
Why were you so upset? Well, your days are spent studying and working to help your father pay the bills. Because of this, you value the free time given to you on Sunday where you have no school and no work. It gave you the time to relax and regain the energy lost throughout the week, plus it allowed you to spend time with your beloved boyfriend.
So why, in god’s name, were you heading to the grocery store instead of relaxing on the couch playing video games with your boyfriend? It’s quite simple, really.
Atobe. Freaking. Keigo.
The self-proclaimed king of… well, everything.
You had only met the boy once and yet he found it okay to blackmail you into helping gather materials for his Easter festival. Honestly, you just wanted to smack him.
A warm hand slid into your own, tugging you out of the way before you could faceplant a pole. Whose brilliant idea was it to put that pole there? You didn’t know.
You smiled up at your boyfriend, feeling some of your annoyance disappear when your eyes met. “Thanks, Kazu.”
He nodded, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. Together, you entered the grocery store and headed straight toward the candy aisle. Your eyes scanned the aisle until you found the colorful marshmallow treats. Because Easter was right around the corner, one side of the aisles had been completely replaced by holiday-appropriate candy items. Various types of peeps lined the shelves; egg-shaped, bunnies, chicks, blue ones, pink ones.
The sheer amount and variation were overwhelming.
You frowned at them. “That kid didn’t specify which ones to buy. What do you think, Kazu?”
The blue-haired male said nothing as he turned away and left the aisle to return a moment later pushing a shopping cart. You watched with wide eyes as he started to clear the shelves, gently stacking the treats into the cart.
“K-Kazu… I think that’s a bit much…”
He frowned as he looked at the cart, boxes of peeps literally overflowing from their metal prison. “You’re right.” He disappeared once more and you sweatdropped when he returned with another cart. “There’s two of us, so it only makes sense that we both have a cart.”
‘That’s not what I meant!’ your eye twitched as he started to stack the rest of the treats into the second cart. “There’s no way all of this will be eaten! Plus, the price…” Even if Atobe was an annoying twat that deserved to be smacked, you didn’t want to break his bank account.
He paused, looking at you with his usual blank expression. “He’s rich. Besides, I owe someone a favor.”
“A favor?” You thought back to his time at the U-17 camp and your eye twitched again. “You don’t mean… Echizen?”
He nodded, setting the last armful of treats into the cart.
You sighed, placing the palm of your hand over your face, ‘That cheeky brat, I should’ve known,’
“Don’t you want revenge?” he questioned as he watched your reaction.
“Revenge?” you echoed, confused. “What for?”
“We were supposed to play Mario Kart. I was going to beat you this time for sure.”
His frown tugged at your heart and you smiled softly, reaching up to plant a chaste kiss on his lips. “It seems you’ve emptied this store of its Peeps inventory. I guess we’ll just have to visit another store, ne?”
The corners of his lips tugged up as he wrapped his long arms around your waist. “Yes.”
The rest of your day was spent going to every store within the immediate area and buying every single Peep they had. By the time you decided to call it quits, Atobe’s limo was threatening to explode from the sheer amount of sugary treats.
You stifled your laughter as the limo driver struggled to close the door. In the end, Kazuya had to help him and it still took a couple of minutes of effort to do so. You cheerfully waved at the driver, who only sweat dropped in response. Your spirits had definitely lifted – after all, revenge is the best medicine.
A giggle passed your lips as you pictured Atobe covered by a mountain of Peeps. Oh, if only you could see it in person!
Kazuya smiled as he laced his fingers with your own, tugging you closer to his side.
Keeping your hands linked, you swung around to stand in front of him. “It’s still early, Kazu-chan. Do you fancy getting your butt whooped again in Mario Kart?”
He scowled, poking your forehead with a slim index finger. “You got lucky last time.”
“Those are fighting words, Tokugawa Kazuya!” You pointed at him with a grin. “This pro will smash you into dust!”
“The loser has to dress like a baby chick at Atobe’s festival,” he challenged.
“Deal!” You took off in the direction of his house, him hot on your heels.

🐇 Easter Bunnies (Masaharu Niou)

Genre: Fluff, Romance, Comedy, Easter

Pairing: Reader x Niou

Table of Contents
━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
Your eyes sparkled as you stared at the bunny rabbits hopping around in their cages. It was a pet shot that specialized in small, furry animals – rabbits, hamsters, chinchillas, and other small critters. It was easily your biggest weakness. They’re just so cute and adorable, you want to bring them all into your arms and hug them.
Niou followed you quietly as you walked around the shop, looking for the ‘perfect’ rabbit – Atobe had made it quite clear that it needed to be the perfect one for the Easter festival, whatever that meant.
You glanced to the right and froze, meeting the eyes of a rather large rabbit with bright blue eyes. His fur was black and white, striped like a tiger’s fur. You had never seen such a beautiful creature in your life. You approached his cage, never losing eye contact. He seemed to… speak to you and you knew instantly that you had to have him.
Arms wrapped around your waist, Niou resting his chin on your shoulder as he looked at the rabbit curiously. “Never seen a rabbit like that before.”
“I know. Isn’t he gorgeous?!”
Niou smirked at your excitement. “You want this one, then?”
You nodded furiously, looking up at him with pleading eyes. Yukimura had entrusted both of you to find Atobe’s perfect rabbit for his festival, which meant that Niou had to agree, as well, before it could be bought.
“Hmm~ I dunno. I think we can find a better one.”
“Please, Niou!”
“Convince me.” His smirk grew, turning you around to face him.
You quickly caught on to the implication and smiled, grabbing his tie to pull him down to your level. Your lips crashed against one another, moving in perfect synch as if they had danced it a thousand times before. You pressed your body against his, tugging lightly on his bottom lip as you pulled away from the kiss.
“Pretty please, Niou-kun~?”
He pecked your lips, his smirk turning into a smile as he nodded. “Puri~”
“Yes!” You threw your fist into the air in victory as he approached the shopkeeper, informing the older man of your decision. Atobe had called ahead and authorized the payment to be billed to his card, so all you had to do was choose the items needed for the rabbit. “Hmm, a metal cage is probably best. If you eat the plastic, you’ll get sick.”
The rabbit, who you decided to name Tora due to its markings, cocked his head to the side at your words. You nearly squealed at how cute he looked.
Niou returned, grabbing your hand and threading his fingers with yours. “The shopkeeper said to let him know once we’ve picked everything out.”
“We should pick a cage first.” You dragged him to the other end of the shop where the cages were boxed and neatly stacked on shelves. “It needs to be metal.”
“What about this?” He pointed to the very first one his eyes found and you scowled.
“That’s way too small!”
He rubbed his chin in thought. “He’s gonna be staying with Atobe, right? So why not get him a castle?”
“I don’t think they make – ” your words died off when you followed his finger. Sure enough, a box nearly the same height as the room stood towering over the other boxes. A brilliant castle made of sterling silver decorated the box. According to the list of features, it even came with its own mote around the castle complete with a drawbridge. Your eye twitched as you stared at it. “That seems… a bit excessive…”
“Well, it is for Atobe and he is paying.”
“Yeah, but – ”
“Don’t you want little rabbit-chan to have the very best?” He grinned when you froze, knowing he had won. This was going to be great.
“You’re right! Our child needs the best we can provide!” You nodded with determination.
“Our child? When did that happen?” He raised a brow. “And we’re not technically the ones providing.”
You ignored him, already approaching the shopkeeper to let him know which cage you wanted. Niou sweatdropped as the man asked over and over if you were sure. It was hella expensive and he knew it wasn’t your money that was buying said expensive item. You scowled at him after he asked for the fifth time, slamming your hand on the counter.
“Atobe-san trusted us enough to come and pick out these items, did he not? Don’t question our decisions!”
The shopkeep quickly apologized and began adding up everything you wanted. Niou snickered at your attitude as you rushed back and forth, picking up rabbit food and toys and anything else that caught your eye. He leaned against you when you finished, waiting for the man to finish ringing up the items.
“Don’t you think that’s a bit too much?” He questioned, watching the pile of toys and treats steadily grow as they were rung up.
“Of course not! Like you said, the best for our baby.”
“It’s a rabbit…”
You scowled at him and he shrugged, pecking your cheek. You were so cute, he didn’t really mind you claiming the rabbit as your shared child. It’d be true one day, anyway.
Little did he know, Niou was the one forced to put the cage together. Never had he regretted his choices more than he did at that moment. He felt like walking away several times, Atobe could easily hire someone to do it, but every time he looked over at you, his will wavered. You had decided to help him, despite him telling you it wasn’t necessary, but you were just as floored and overwhelmed as he was.
You were frowning down at the instructions, your brow furrowed in concentration. You couldn’t make heads nor tails of the damn thing.
Niou chuckled, breaking your concentration. “You’re so cute when you’re frustrated,”
“Shut up.” You muttered, feeling your cheeks burn.
With new resolve, he pecked your cheek before returning to work. It took both of you nearly six hours to piece the cage together. All of the frustration was worth it in the end as you both viewed the masterpiece.
“I kinda wanna live there,” Niou commented.
“It’s bigger than my bedroom. And my living room… I’ve never been so jealous of a rabbit before…”
“Puri~”

Guy’s Night Out (Atobe Keigo) 📓 The Dummies Guide to Relationships
Tumblr media
Table of Contents
Genre: Fluff, Slice of Life
Word Count: 392
Pairing: Reader x College! Atobe
World: Prince of Tennis
If he wants a guy's night out... don't complain.
━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━
Keigo walked into the living room of your apartment, seeing you relaxing on the sofa as you watched a movie. For a moment, he just stood off to the side, clearing his throat to try and get your attention, but you were so engrossed in the movie that you weren't paying him any mind. Holding back a huff, he moved to stand between you and the TV, his arms over his chest.
"Come on, Kei, it was just getting to the good part," you complained, trying to see around his body.
"I'm going out with Oshitari and Kabaji tonight," he announced, his eyes scanning your face for your reaction.
You simply shrugged one shoulder, still trying to peer around him. "Alright, have fun and give them my best. Now move~"
Atobe chuckled, pecking your lips before heading to the door to put on his shoes. He glanced at you again to check for your reaction, but you were focused on the movie, not looking the least bit upset. What had Oshitari been talking about? He had mentioned that you would most likely be upset that Atobe was going out with his friends instead of spending time with you, but you seemed completely normal and unbothered by his decision.
You loved Atobe and you enjoyed spending time with him, but even being in love didn't mean that you wanted to spend every second of your life with him. He had his own life, his own friends and you frankly didn't care what he did. You trusted him, knowing that he wasn't the type of man that would cheat on his partner. As long as he made time for you, which he always did, you didn't mind him going out and enjoying his life with his friends.
He had his own life to live and you weren't going to stop him. The thought of being the reason for his regrets was more than enough to keep you from trying to control him. Besides, you also had your own life to live, even if that meant just relaxing on the sofa and watching an action movie alone.
Atobe paused in the doorway, glancing back at you once more with a loving smile on his lips. "I love you, honey. I'll be home in a few hours."
You returned his smile. "Love you, too. Be safe."

Frightful October ’21 🎃 #19 ~ Charitable (Keigo Atobe)
Tumblr media
Genre: Drama, Fluff, Friendship, High School AU
Word Count: 5,256
Pairing: Reader x Atobe
World: The Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
I don't know what happened, this doesn't feel like a Halloween fic at all ._.)
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
When you first met Atobe Keigo, you couldn't stand him. He was arrogant, always flaunting his money and power at every chance. He was a rich bitch and he wanted everyone to know it. People threw themselves at his feet because he was attractive and rich and, as a first-year, he became the king of the school. It didn't matter that he was younger, the older students still bowed down to him. They knew about his family's wealth and power and they either didn't want to get on his bad side or they hoped to get on his good side. He was known for being excessive with his money toward his friends, even going so far as to give one of his teammates a ride in his private jet just for fun. They didn't even go anywhere, they just flew across Japan and came right back.
You were a third-year when Atobe joined Hyotei high but you weren't rich. Your family was lower middle class and worked hard for every dime that went toward bills, but you worked your ass off to get a basketball scholarship to the school. Honestly, you hated Hyotei. Everyone was pretentious and they treated you differently when they learned you didn't live in a mansion and couldn't take weekend vacations to exotic locations. But it was an opportunity. Like it or not, Hyotei opened doors to success in various fields and if you could become a pro, your dad could stop working three jobs to keep the bills paid. You could set him up in a decent house where he could live comfortably and without stress. That seemed like the least you could do after he had sacrificed so much to raise you.
The final bell tolled and you rolled your neck, stifling a yawn as you tossed your books into your bag. Your best friend, Hiyoshi Wakujou, turned around in his seat in front of you, brushing locks of brown hair from his eyes. "Practice was canceled today. What are you planning on doing?"
You looked into his honey-colored eyes and smiled. Wakujou had been the first person to approach you when you transferred to Hyotei and he had been the only person to continue speaking to you after learning that you weren't loaded. He was your best friend and you attributed your survival at that school to him. He kept you sane and grounded. And kept you from accidentally lobbing a basketball into someone's face. "I'm helping set up a haunted house with an old friend of mine."
"Oo, you got a job?" He looked excited by the idea, never having to work a day in his life, but the nearby students looked at you with disgust. The thought of a Hyotei student working? Blasphemy.
"No, they're not paying me." You frowned a bit at that but then shook your head and smiled, standing up and slinging your bag over your shoulder. "Well, I guess I you want to be technical, they are paying me with cookies."
He grabbed his own bag and the two of you left the room, walking side by side. His brow was furrowed. "Why would you work for free? You should be compensated for your time!"
"That's ideal," you commented. "But I'm okay with it. The woman that's running the haunted house is a widow and she's spending every free dime she has to put into this event."
"That's stupid. Why would she throw money she doesn't have into something that won't last?" Wakujou shook his head.
"She's doing it for charity."
"Eh?"
"Every dime the haunted house brings in will be going to cancer research... in honor of her late husband."
Wakujou's eyes widened and he felt a bit guilty about his comment. "Oh... I see."
You patted his shoulder, a silent sign not to take it too hard. He wasn't used to struggling to survive so he didn't understand how someone with no money could blow it on something that seemed, on the surface, to be a waste of time and money. But he wasn't a bad guy and he wasn't stuck up like the majority of Hyotei. He was a good guy, just a little ignorant about money.
"Take me with you."
You quirked a brow at him in surprise. "What?"
His eyes shimmered with determination when he looked at you, holding his fist out. "I want to help, too, so take me with you."
"It'll be a lot of hard work, you know," you hummed. "Moving heavy boxes, hanging decorations, handing out fliers, stuff like that."
He nodded with a grin. "Let's do it!"
You grinned back, throwing your arm around his neck. "You're my best friend, you know that?"
"I'm your only friend."
"Ouch. But true."
The cold air nipped at your face when you exited the school and you could see your breaths in translucent clouds. The sky was grey, the sun nowhere in sight, and you knew snow was on the horizon. You loved Autumn, but you weren't fond of snow and you hoped that it would be just a light dusting and not the storm that the weatherman was predicting. It wouldn't be the first time he had predicted the weather incorrectly, so there was hope.
Wakujou wrapped his scarf around his neck and huffed. "I hate the cold, I always feel so sluggish, and playing basketball in the cold is terrible."
"That's true. They don't even let you wear underclothes to compensate, either."
"What a stupid rule," he huffed, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
A comfortable silence settled over you as you led him to the other side of town where Yukiko-san lived. Her house was old, a mix of Japanese and Victorian styles that somehow went together quite well. It gave the house a spooky look, though, which was perfect for a haunted house. She claimed that the man who built the house took his life in the attic and that his soul still wanders, but you weren't too sure about that part. Yukiko-san was standing outside, hanging fake cobwebs along the iron fence that surrounded her property. She smiled brightly when she saw you.
"Good evening, Yukikio-san." You returned the smile, offering her a polite bow.
"Hello, dear, thank you for coming." Her eyes slid over to Wakujou and she got sparkles in her eyes. "And who is this handsome young man? Your boyfriend?"
"No," you replied, shaking your head at the thought.
Wakujou beamed at the compliment. "My name is Hiyoshi Wakujou. I'm Y/N's best friend and I've come to assist with the haunted house."
"I'm afraid I can't pay you," she frowned.
"That's okay! Y/N said you make excellent cookies."
"That, I do! I have some on the oven as we speak. Come, come, out of the cold before you catch a cold."
The two of you followed her up the creaky steps and into the house, getting a face full of warm air and the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking. Fuji Shuusuke was in the kitchen, pulling the cookie tray from the oven and humming softly to himself.
"Ah, Shuu, you're here, too?" you greeted him with surprise. "What about practice?"
He smiled at you before returning his attention to the cookies. "When I told coach about the haunted house, she allowed me to skip practice for the day. I do have to run a hundred extra laps tomorrow, though."
"Brutal."
"What about you?"
"Our coach went into labor and our captain is sick," Wakujou explained before introducing himself.
"The cookies need to cool. Shall we work while we wait?" Fuji suggested. "I need help with the chandelier decorations, it's not safe to do them alone."
"I can help!" Wakujou raised his hand enthusiastically, setting his bag and scarf in one of the kitchen chairs.
The two boys headed into the living room and Yukikio turned toward you. "Would you mind putting up the ghost in the attic window? I'm afraid it kills my back to hunch over for so long."
"Not a problem," you smiled at her, gently resting your hand on her upper arm. "You know, you're free to rest while we do the work. None of us would mind."
She waved her hand as if the suggestion was blasphemous. "Nonsense. This is my house, how could I possibly run a haunted house without at least helping? But don't worry, I'll leave the dangerous items to you young ones." She winked, prompting a laugh from you.
"Understood."
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
Atobe found himself frowning as he entered the middle school's tennis court to check on his old team. He had confidence in Hiyoshi, but he still worried about how things were going. Plus, he needed the distraction. He had gone to the gymnasium to watch you practice, as he often did, but you've been MIA for the past two days. Then again, half the team was taking a break but he couldn't help but worry. You weren't rich, so what if your bills overwhelmed you?
Hiyoshi wasn't surprised to see his old captain, but he was caught off guard by the worried expression marring the older male's face. "Atobe-san," he greeted politely.
"Hiyoshi," he returned the greeting, his eyes scanning the courts as the regulars practiced. He was silent for a moment before asking, "Your brother is friends with Y/N, is he not?"
"Yes?" Hiyoshi frowned. "Why?"
"Is he with Y/N now?"
"I don't know."
Atobe sent him an annoyed look. "So, find out."
"Why do you care?" he muttered, but he did as the older male requested by pulling out his cellphone and texting his brother.
Adobe's lips set in a firm line. Why did he care? For whatever reason, he has felt a connection to you since the day you met. At first, he was sure it was just mutual dislike since you told him off for acting like a spoiled brat, which he did not appreciate. But the more he observed you, the more he started to like you. He enjoyed the few occasions when he got to talk to you and you had slowly been losing your hostility toward him. He was winning you over. Slowly but surely.
The reply came a few moments later and Hiyoshi quickly scanned it before relaying the information to him. "They are working at a haunted house."
"Working?" Adobe's brow furrowed. This seemed to confirm his worries about your lack of money. You were surrounded by people who were loaded, why didn't you ask your best friend for help? Better yet, why didn't you ask him? Without a word, he turned on his heel and walked away.
Hiyoshi was looking down at his phone and had lying noticed. "Oh, it's not a job. It's for -" he paused when he noticed his former captain was nowhere in sight then he sighed. "Why doesn't he just admit that he likes Y/N? What a pain."
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
You scratched the top of your head before stifling a yawn as you settled down at your desk. You had stayed with Yukiko-san longer than you should have and then got up early to run some basketball drills, so you were feeling quite tired. You'd probably just eat a light lunch or skip it altogether so you could take a nap on the roof.
Whispers broke out in the classroom when Atobe appeared in the doorway, his violet eyes narrowed at you. He took in your tired appearance - your messy hair, wrinkled clothes, and the dark bags beneath your eyes - and he frowned. 'Y/N must have been working all night! This won't do.' Straightening his back, he marched up to your desk.
You looked at him in confusion. "Atobe, what -"
He cut you off, slapping his gold card onto the surface of your desk. "The credit limit is one million, which should be more than enough to pay your bills and move you into a better home."
Giggles and gasps erupted around you as the other third years watched the two of you as if it were some drama on TV. Heat rushed to your face, a mixture of embarrassment and anger. "You have some nerve, Atobe Keigo," you sputtered in disbelief, your chair screeching across the floor as you stood up. "I am not your goddamn charity case for you to feel better about yourself. I don't need nor want your money and I won't be your little pet project so you can tell everyone you helped the poor. If you want to throw your money away so freely, try donating to an actual charity trying to save someone's life! You arrogant little -"
"Y/N!" Wakujou cut you off, having walked in halfway through your rant. He knew if he didn't stop you, you might actually hurt the first year - and not with words. He took you by the wrist and tried to tug you toward the door, but your feet didn't budge.
You glared daggers at the dumbfounded expression on the purplette's face. "You can't buy me and you certainly can't win me over by pretending to care. The rest of these fools may fall for your little game, but I never will. So you can take that card and shove it up your -"
"Y/N-san!" The teacher screeched in disbelief, her eyes narrowed behind her glasses. "Detention!"
You huffed, grabbing your bag and stomping toward the door.
"Where do you think you're going? Class is about to start! You get back to your seat right now or you'll get two weeks of detention."
You didn't care. You were so angry and embarrassed, you couldn't stand to stay in that room another moment longer, even if that meant a year of detention.
Wakujou gave her a sheepish smile, clapping g his hands in front of him and bowing. "Sorry, sensei. Family emergency." And then he darted from the room, chasing after you.
Atobe was in shock. He had been trying to help you, why did you get so upset? He wanted to look after you! Why was that such a bad thing? His fingers curled around the card so tightly that he could feel it pressing into his skin. All he wanted was to take care of you, why would you let him?
The teacher cleared her throat, tone softer now that she was addressing him. "Atobe-san, you should return to your classroom. Do you need a note so you won't be marked as late?"
"No, sensei. Excuse me." He bowed to her before leaving the room, his hand held over his aching heart.
───── ⋆⋅🎃⋅⋆ ─────
You huffed in anger as you exited the school, tightly gripping the strap of your bag. You could hear Wakujou's footsteps behind you and you knew he would keep following you if you didn't stop him. You appreciated his concern, but you didn't want to blow up at him. You stopped at the gate, keeping your back to him.
"Go back to class," you ordered, not looking back at him.
"But..." he frowned, not knowing how to make you feel better. Personally, he didn't understand it either, why you refused the help. He had offered many times to pay your bills when you complained about not having enough for them, but you refused every time, even snapping at him a couple of times. Finally, you just stopped bringing it up and he stopped offering. But he didn't understand it at all. He had plenty to offer, after all, and the two of you were best friends. "Are you okay?"
You took a deep breath to try and control your anger. "I need to be alone."
He didn't like the idea of that, but he nodded slowly. "Okay... if you need me, you'll call right?"
"Yeah." You had no intention of doing that and he knew it, but he didn't want to push you.
"Okay... I love you, Y/N."
You didn't reply, you just walked away, leaving him alone out in the cold, watching his best friend disappear around the corner. Having no intention of returning to school that day and not wanting to just sit around doing nothing, you decided to stop by the cafe that sat a few blocks away from your house. It didn't happen often, but whenever you had some spare time, you would pick up a shift at the cafe to help them out since they were often short-staffed, especially during the winter.
The cafe was packed with people trying to escape the cold by sitting inside eating freshly baked pastries and warm drinks. Hime stood behind the counter and despite the friendly smile on her face, you could see her beginning to panic as she rushed back and forth between taking orders, making drinks, and grabbing pastries from the back. She looked relieved to see you, her eyes hopeful. A nod was all it took for her shoulders to relax.
You dropped your bag and jacket off in the back, tugging the red apron over your head before stepping up to the register and forcing a smile despite the anger still boiling within you. "Good morning! What can I get for you today, sir?"
The rest of the day passed by in a blur. The customers slowed down around ten-thirty, but it picked up again for the lunch rush at noon, businessmen and women ordering excessive amounts of coffee to take back to their coworkers, but the two of you managed and by four-thirty, the place had nearly emptied out. The two of you were finally able to breathe.
Hime practically fell onto the stool behind the counter, a groan passing her lips. "My feet are killing me and I'm starving~"
You chuckled, wiping down the counter. "Why don't you take a break? Grab something to eat and I'll make you some hot chocolate."
"Nothing hot." Her nose wrinkled and she fanned herself for emphasis. Despite the cold outside, the inside of the cafe was warm. Being surrounded by steaming drinks and hot ovens all day made both of you wish that the heater didn't work, but she knew that was the main selling point for the crowd. "An iced latte would be lovely, please."
"Coming right up." While you worked on her drink, she grabbed the last piece of pumpkin bread from the glass container.
"You're a real godsend, you know?" She said between bites, her brunette hair waving back and forth in its ponytail as she shook her head. "Naoki called at the last minute and said he couldn't come in. He sounded terrible so I didn't have the heart to yell at him. I was about to call around to see if anyone could come in but then the rush hit."
You hummed thoughtfully, setting her drink on the counter beside her before handing her a straw. "That's usually how it goes."
"I'm not complaining, but," she sipped the drink to wash down the bread. "School wasn't canceled today, so what the heck are you doing here?"
You didn't even want to think about what had happened, must less talk about it. "The bills are due soon. I figured missing one day of school wouldn't hurt to help my dad make the deadline."
She nodded in understanding. "I hear that. My mom fell at work yesterday, so she'll be out of work for a couple weeks."
"Oh, man. Is she okay?"
"It's a bad sprain but it's not broken. She has to stay off it or it won't heal properly, so I'm having to take extra shifts and overtime to compensate. I'm exhausted! But that's life, I suppose."
"Yeah," you mumbled. "That's life..."
She leaned her head against the wall and sighed, closing her brown eyes. "What I wouldn't give to meet a rich man that could take all of my problems away~"
You frowned at those words. She had a point, but it felt wrong to think that way. It wasn't right to want someone simply because they could make your life easier as if that were their sole purpose. No one existed to make your life easier except yourself, that's what you believed. Were you wrong to turn down Atobe and Wakujou's help? It felt like the right thing to do, but sometimes you wondered if Hime had a point. You and your dad lived with so much stress and he was working himself into an early grave to keep up with the bills. You sometimes found yourself wondering if you would lose him before you could go pro. You weren't doing it for yourself, you were doing it for him. If he died because of poor health before you could make it, it would all be for nothing. Your hand squeezed tightly around the rag.
The bell chimed above the door but you didn't even notice, too lost in thought as you cleaned the door of the glass case. Hime glanced up on instinct and her eyes widened. She nearly fell off the stool in her haste to reach the counter, quickly checking her bright red lipstick in the reflection of the cash register before she smiled at him.
"Good afternoon, sir. My name is Hime! I'm a Gemini and I'm single. What can I get for you?"
He didn't spare her a glance. "A decaf latte, no whipped cream."
Your shoulders tensed at the familiar voice and you lowered yourself more despite knowing that he couldn't see you. Why the hell was Atobe here? Since when does a rich boy like him drink anything that wasn't prepared by his own personal chefs?
"Sure thing," Hime chirped, accepting his credit card. She committed his name to memory before handing the card back and smiling at him. "Y/N, can you make that for our guest, please?"
Atobe perked up at your name, his eyes darting around for any sign of you.
You glared at her, cursing her in your mind but she was too preoccupied by the pretty boy in front of her. With a sigh, you stood up and tossed the rag at her, earning a sharp look as if to say, 'don't embarrass me in front of my future husband.' You snorted and got to work on the drink, not sparing him a glance but being aware of his eyes following you.
Hime took notice of this and frowned, glancing between the two of you. "So... do you two know each other or ?"
"No." "Yes."
She put her hand on her hip, turning her attention to you. "So which is it, then?"
You sighed, handing the drink to her so she could pass it on. "We go to the same school but I don't know him."
Atobe swallowed hard, feeling his chest tighten. Why would you say that? Sure, the two of you weren't exactly friends, but you definitely knew each other. "I didn't know you worked here," he commented softly, wishing you would at least glance at him, but you kept your back to him, slowly doing the dishes.
You shrugged one shoulder. "Maybe there's a reason for that."
A moment of tense silence settled between you which had Hime glancing between the two of you awkwardly. When she couldn't handle it any longer, she cleared her throat. "Right, well... I'm going to go bake some more pumpkin bread." And then she rushed into the back, but you knew she was sticking close to the door, hoping to eavesdrop.
"Can we... talk?"
"Do what you want. You're going to anyway," you replied, harsher than you meant to. Despite yourself, you felt guilty enough to look at him. "What do you want, Atobe?"
His gaze flickered to the swinging door, seeing Hime duck down as if she weren't just peering through the round window. "When does your shift end?"
Before you could respond, Hime came through the door with a tray of cookies and a mischievous smile. She set one of the cookies on a napkin before setting the napkin on top of Atobe's drink, not allowing him to refuse. "It's on the house, handsome."
"Hime," you gave her a look of warning. She had a habit of giving away free snacks to customers she found attractive, hoping to tempt them back in, but the owner had already warned her several times about this and you didn't want her to get fired.
"Don't mind," she waved you off. "Thanks for your help today, Y/N. You were a real lifesaver! You can take off now, though."
"But -"
"No 'but's. Mae will be here within twenty minutes to take the closing shift and there won't be another rush today." She wrapped another cookie in a napkin before setting it in your hand. "Take a cookie and go home. I'll make sure boss sends you a check for your efforts today!"
You scowled at her, finally catching on to what she was doing, and you knew there was no arguing with her. She was far too stubborn. With a sigh, you headed into the back to hang up the apron and grab your things. When you stepped back through the door, you dropped two dollars and change into the cash register for the cookies, earning a disapproving look which you blatantly ignored.
Atobe followed you silently from the cafe, walking at your side as he quietly sipped his drink. He honestly didn't know what to say without making things worse or pissing you off again, so he opted to remain quiet. You, on the other hand, were starting to feel guilty again. No matter what his intentions, he was your underclassman and you shouldn't have blown up at him like that. You should have been the bigger person instead of insulting him.
You took a deep breath to snuff out your pride. "I'm sorry."
He was so surprised by your sudden apology that he choked on his drink, earning a worried look from you as he coughed and sputtered.
"Uh... you gonna make it?"
"Yes." He coughed a few more times into his fist, turning his face away when he felt his skin heating up. He hoped you couldn't tell because of the cold. "Why are you apologizing to me?"
"I was kind of a bitch to you," you replied honestly as you reflected on your actions. "As your upperclassman, I shouldn't have insulted you like I did. Or threatened you. So... I'm sorry."
He wanted to be offended by your actions, but your sincere apology had his heart softening. "I don't understand why you got so upset."
"Of course, you don't." You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. "You've always had everything handed to you, Atobe, but... think of it like tennis."
His brows shot up at that and he looked at you curiously. "In what way?"
"All those tennis matches you've won, the special moves you perfected... did you have someone give them to you or did you work your ass off until you achieved it with your own two hands, your own sweat and tears?"
"I worked for it, of course," he replied proudly, his free hand on his hip.
"And if someone had just given it to you without you putting in the effort, do you think you'd still be proud?"
He frowned at the question, the pieces starting to click in his mind.
"Look," you paused, stopping in front of him. "I won't pretend to know what your intentions were when you tried to give me your credit card, but it's the same premise as your tennis. I don't want to be some charity case that someone felt sorry for. If I were to just accept money from you or from Wakujou or anyone else, it would make all the effort my dad put in all these years meaningless. He's worked himself to the bone to provide for us and he never complains. He greets me with a smile every day and even when he's brought down by stress and worry, he still smiles at me and tells me everything will be alright. I want to work hard like him, to pull us out of this hole with my own two hands. I want him to look at me and feel proud of his hardworking child, not disappointed that I sold out and took money I didn't earn."
Atobe frowned. "I'm sorry, I... I didn't realize..." He closed his eyes, cursing himself for stammering like a fool in front of you. When he looked into your eyes, you were surprised by how soft his haze was. "I didn't mean to insult you, Y/N. I merely wanted to help someone I care about. I didn't realize it meant so much to you."
"Thank you, I accept your apolo... gy..." His words sunk in and your eyes widened. "Wait a minute, you... you care about me?"
Despite the warmth of his cheeks, he kept his gaze steady with yours and nodded. "You were never charity to me. You were never a project. You're just someone I want to protect the only way I know how."
"Atobe..."
"Keigo," he corrected with a smile, half-hidden by his white scarf. "You should come work for me. Father is training me to take over the business and I'll be needing someone by my side I can trust."
"As a secretary?" Your nose wrinkled at the idea of sitting behind a desk in uncomfortable fancy clothes all day.
He chuckled, reaching his hand out to brush a piece of snow from your cheek. You hadn't even realized it was snowing. "As a partner."
Heat rushed to your face at the double meaning of his words and the love in his eyes. Your lips parted, but you didn't know what to say.
He pulled his hand back, clearing his throat as his confidence wavered. "Only if you want to. It won't be charity, you'll be working hard and you can still pursue your dream of being a professional athlete, so long as you promise to always take my calls. It won't be easy and you'll always be busy, but it will be honest work, and... you'll be by my side." He hesitated a moment before leaning forward and brushing his soft lips against your cheek. "Think about it."
"Y-Yeah... I will..." You stuttered, bringing a smirk to his lips.
"Now, which way is your home?"
"Eh?"
"Do you really think I'm going to let you walk home alone?" He arched a brow in question, his hand on his hip. "Come on, before we're covered in snow."
You scowled at him but it was half-hearted. "It's this way..."
He let you lead the way, sticking close to your side as silence fell over you. Your hands bumped a few times and you were about to put them in your pockets when he slid his into your own, linking your fingers together. His hand was warm and soft, his fingers lightly calloused from his years of playing tennis. Your mind was honestly in overdrive and you simply couldn't think straight with him holding your hand, the scent of his cologne filling your nostrils. His words bounced around your brain, not letting you forget how he said them or the look in his eyes when he did. It was overwhelming so, for now, you just decided you would enjoy this moment and leave everything else for the future you to deal with.
You gave his hand a gentle squeeze and he smiled, bringing the back of your hand to his lips.

━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━
Everything was a blur. Try as he might, Sanada could only remember bits and pieces of the night before. He remembered drinking a cup of soda and it burning his throat as it went down. He remembered the sound of music and the other people dancing. He remembered the room spinning. He didn't remember, however, how he ended up in his bed, naked, with a throbbing headache.
Gathering up all of his strength, Sanada pushed the covers from his body and crawled out of bed, slipping on some boxers and a pair of sweatpants. Rubbing his sleepy face with his calloused hand, he walked down the stairs toward the kitchen. If his head hadn't been throbbing, he probably would have been surprised to see you sitting at the kitchen table with a can of soda in hand.
"Ah, Gen. You're finally awake." You smiled, your eyes straying to the vice-captain's bare chest and muscled stomach.
"Y/N." He greeted with a grunt, taking a seat across from you. He closed his eyes and set his hand against his forehead. "What happened last night?"
You chuckled. "You don't remember? I figured I'd have to fill in the blanks."
The black haired male slowly lifted his head, his face stoic but he couldn't hide the curiosity that shimmered in his eyes. You could see it as clear as day.
"Someone spiked your drink."
That's why it had burned, he concluded.
"You were pretty drunk, Sanada." You frowned, resting your chin on your folded hands.
Sanada was too hungover to ask for more details. He doubted that he wanted to know.
"You should collect yourself, class starts soon," you told him, looking down and staring at the can in your hand. Guilt consumed you but you were too afraid to speak up, to admit what you had done.
Sanada just nodded, standing up and sluggishly trailing back up the stairs to his room.
You watched him until he was out of sight. The thought of what had happened the night before brought butterflies to your stomach, but you forced those feelings, those memories, away.
Now wasn't the time for such things.
The pages are turning.
Seiichi kept a close eye on the black haired male throughout the day after you had texted him, giving him the TL;DR of the night before. He wasn't the least bit pleased but you promised to explain later if he promised to keep an eye on Sanada.
Even now, as they attended tennis practice after class, Sanada was still feeling the effects of the alcohol from the night before. He was sitting on the bench next to Yukimura, arms crossed and eyes narrowed dangerously. None of the Rikkaidai players dared to go anywhere near him; it was a gamble none of them were willing to take. They all knew their captain was the only one who could be near Sanada in his current state.
"Is your head still hurting?" Yukimura inquired, glancing at the boy sitting next to him.
Sanada grunted his response, in no mood for talking.
When practice came to a close, you rushed over to the courts, breathing heavily as you scanned for the vice-captain. If it hadn't been for detention, you would have arrived sooner, but that's what you get for zoning out during class.
You slowly approached the pair as they started to leave the court. Yukimura's eyes narrowed and you couldn't bring yourself to look at him. You cleared your throat. "How are you feeling, Gen?"
He grunted, squinting at you because the sun was hurting his eyes.
"That good, huh?" You joked, but your smile was forced. "Um, why don't we walk home together? I have some medicine that will help with your headache and my uncle taught me a great cure for hangovers. We can... talk about what happened."
"Sure." He rubbed at his eyes. "Let me change."
You watched him walk toward the locker room, biting your lip again.
"Whatever you did," Yukimura commented softly, but you could hear the warning lingering within the words. "Fix it."
"Y-Yes..." You knew telling him was the right thing to do, but... you also knew that you would most likely lose his friendship over this and that broke your heart. One stupid mistake could quite literally ruin everything.
Turning slow but sure.
"Make yourself at home, Gen. I'll make some tea and get your medicine." You told him before heading into the kitchen.
He didn't hesitate to go upstairs into your room, flopping onto your bed without a second thought. His eyes closed as he enjoyed the feeling of the cold AC and the silk sheets beneath his body. The two of you were neighbors and had pretty much grown up together, so this wasn't unusual for either of you.
You entered the bedroom a few moments later, carrying a cup of tea in one hand and a bottle of pills in the other. You set them on the bedside table before carefully sitting on the side of the bed and watching him. He was so gorgeous to you. You smiled, gently brushing away his dark bangs from his forehead.
His eyes slowly peeled open, looking up at you.
You cleared your throat, quickly snatching your hand away. "I brought some medicine."
Nodding, Sanada sat up and leaned his back against the headboard. He watched as you took two blue pills from the bottle before holding them out. He took the pills, closing his eyes and hoping that relief would come faster than the normal thirty minute time span.
"You should rest," you told him gently, hand brushing against Sanada's cheek.
"Do you know who spiked my drink?" Sanada questioned suddenly.
"No, I don't," you answered honestly, lowering your head. You may not know who did it, but you did know who took advantage of it.
His eyes narrowed at you. "You're hiding something."
"Am I?" You breathed nervously, refusing to look at him.
"Y/N -"
You didn't know what came over you but you suddenly shot forward, capturing his lips with your own. Maybe it was the thought that you would never be able to do this again. Maybe it was desperation, hoping he would realize he returned your feelings. Maybe it was just a distraction, hoping he would forget about everything else.
Whether it was the shock or the hangover that prevented Sanada from pushing you away, he didn't know. It confused him even more when flashes of the night before filled his head.
━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━
A moan filled the bedroom.
Everything was slightly blurred, but he could make out the figure of someone sitting on top of him. Another moan passed his lips as they bit down on his neck, licking their way down his chest. Sanada growled, arching his back as the person above him ground their hips together, causing sparks of electricity to erupt within his flushed body.
Sanada was too drunk to know who it was or to even care. He was drunk off his ass and horny to boot, looking for any sort of release. Who was offering that relief was the last thing on his mind.
You smiled down at him as you slowly unzipped Sanada's jeans, pulling them down his body. He grunted when the cloth ran over his hard dick.
"You're already so hard, Gen," you purred in his ear as you pulled his boxers off. Your hand slowly slid down his stomach, grabbing a hold of his erect penis. A throaty moan passed his lips as he gripped the white sheets between his fingers.
You gripped his dick, lining it up with your entrance before you slowly sunk down, taking him to the hilt in one go. You threw your head back, soft moans passing your lips as you bounced on him. His large hands gripped your hips, his lips parted. You weren't drunk, but you were a bit tipsy so you couldn't maintain that position for long. You groaned as you lied down on top of him, your face buried in his neck as he started to thrust up into you, a growl ripping from his throat.
You were in pure bliss. You had been dreaming of this for so long, but he had never noticed you. Deep in the recesses of your mind, you knew it was wrong to take advantage of him while he was drunk off his ass, but he had grabbed you first and you just couldn't hold back. You wanted him, need him.
You'd deal with the consequences later.
His thrusts became sloppy as he plowed into you, flipping you over so he could have more control. There was no passion, no love, just primal breeding as he filled you up repeatedly, hitting that sweet little spot inside of you that had you throwing your head back onto the pillow and clutching at his bicep. You came with a cry, but he didn't slow his pace, chasing his own high until, finally, he came with a grunt, spilling his seed deep inside you.
Sanada collapsed on top of you, breathing heavily. His weight made it hard for you to breathe but you didn't care. You just wrapped your arms around him, running your fingers through his hair as you whispered sweet nothings to him. The reality of the situation was beginning to sink in, bringing tears to your eyes.
What had you done?
Sanada's eyes felt heavy and he fought to keep them open only to lose, his breathing starting to even out.
"Rest, Gen," you whispered softly, swallowing hard as tears slid down the sides of your face. "I'm so sorry."
He couldn't hold on any longer, darkness claiming his mind.
━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━
Sanada's eyes snapped open and he pushed you away, eyes wide and a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach. "Y/N… you…"
The force of his push had you hitting the ground with a wince, but the pain in your ass was nothing compared to the pain in your heart. You met his eyes and you realized then that he had remembered what had happened. "Gen, I... I'm so sorry..."
"Why?" Sanada demanded, feeling dirty and used, angry and in disbelief that you would do such a thing.
You remained silent, staring at the carpet in shame.
"Why?" He repeated with a growl, his fists clenched at his sides. "Why did you... take advantage of me like that?"
"Because I love you," you answered softly. "I love you, Gen. I've always loved you! But it's like I don't even exist. I try so hard to get your attention but you just ignore me. I... I regret my decision but I saw a chance and I took it."
He didn't know what to think or what to feel. You had betrayed him, taken advantage of him while he was under the influence and couldn't say no. And now you're confessing to him? He had never noticed any sign that you had feelings for him outside the friendship that you both shared, which isn't saying much because he was completely clueless when it came to people flirting with him. Still, that gave you no right to do what you did.
Sanada pulled himself up from the bed, heading for the door without a word.
"I'm sorry," you cried, making him pause in the doorway. "I'm so sorry... if I could take it back, I would. I just -"
He looked over his shoulder at you and the coldness in his dark eyes made you go silent. "Stay away from me."
You didn't expect any less, but the words still cut you deep. You knew you deserved the pain, though. You deserved the pain and so much more. Sanada's feet echoed loudly on the stairs before the front door slammed shut, making you wince. With a cry of pain and frustration, you grabbed the closest thing to you, the trash can, and threw it across the room.
Why were you so stupid?
You hated yourself and you knew he probably hated you, too.
The pages continue to turn.
Days quickly turned into weeks, which turned into months.
Time was passing you by and you didn't even notice. You had practically become a living zombie, going through life without actually experiencing it. All you could think about was Sanada and how royally you had fucked up. You would give anything to be able to go back to the moment, to realize what you were doing was wrong, but life doesn't work that way. You can't change what happened.
You wanted so desperately to try and make it up to him, but that seemed selfish. You wanted forgiveness, for him to know that you were sorry, but that wouldn't necessarily make him feel any better. Your presence would just bring up the memory again and make him feel worse about it. You didn't want that, so you decided that avoiding him would be the best for him. You didn't want to cause him more pain than you already had.
This decision left you isolated, though. His friends were your friends, so avoiding him meant avoiding them, as well. You felt you deserved it. If you were able to hurt the one person you love more than any other, you figured you weren't fit to even have human contact with others. How does one live with themselves when they've done something so terrible?
The final bell rang and the class erupted with chatter as the students gathered their things, discussing their plans for the weekend. You were sluggish as you tossed your unused text book into your bag, slinging it over your shoulder and standing up.
The teacher appeared in front of you with a frown. "I'd like to speak to you for a moment, Y/N-san."
You nodded silently, not moving as she waited for the classroom to empty out.
"Is something going on with you?" She questioned, putting her hands on her hips. "Your grades weren't outstanding, but they were decent. Lately, though, it's like your not even trying. You never turn in your assignments, you're not paying attention in class." She shook her head. "At this rate, you're not going to graduate. Is that what you want?"
You didn't particularly care either way. Nothing mattered anymore.
She sighed, putting her hand on your shoulder. "If there's something going on, you know you can talk to me. That's what I'm here for. You're not alone."
You wanted to scoff. She was talking as if you were the victim. What would she say if she knew that you were actually the abuser? That you had hurt the most important person in your life and possibly ruined his life? Would she still be concerned about you, offering her shoulder to cry on if she knew that you were a terrible person? You were tempted to tell her, just to get it off of your chest, but why should you get that luxury? Sanada couldn't get it off his chest, he couldn't tell anyone to feel better about what had happened. Why should you be allowed?
"Can I go now?" Your voice was hoarse from lack of use, dull and lifeless.
She was reluctant to let you, but she couldn't force you to stay. "Fine, but think about what I said."
You left the room, her words already forgotten from your mind. Instead of going down the stairs, you went up them. One floor, two, three, until you reached the rooftop. The school had started to keep the door locked because the fence around the roof was rusted and unstable and they hadn't gotten around to fixing it yet, but the lock was simple and easy to pick.
You shivered when the cold wind hit your body, bringing goosebumps to your bare arms as you stepped out on the roof. A rusted section of the chain-link fence had been pulled down, lying on the rooftop pitifully. It looked as if they had started to repair it only to give up halfway, probably due to the weather. Summer had been nearly non-stop rain, after all, and autumn was only just starting.
You approached the break in the fence, stepping up onto the ledge and looking out at the courtyard below. Most of the students had returned home already and those in clubs were either at one of the fields behind the school and or in a classroom inside, leaving the courtyard empty. You could see the line of trees that lined the street and the city in the distance. The sun was beginning to set, the sky alight with shades of orange and red.
You looked down. It was a long fall and you doubted you would survive if you jumped.
You were considering it, your feet shuffling closer to the edge. It felt like a fitting punishment for what you had done.
Or was it a relief? You paused with a frown. If you killed yourself to end your own pain, wouldn't that make you a coward? You had fucked up, you made a mistake and hurt someone you cared about and now you were going to run away by ending your life. Your suffering would end, but Sanada's wouldn't. Killing yourself wouldn't take away his pain, it wouldn't solve the problem that you had caused.
You took a deep breath, letting your head fall back as you closed your eyes. No, you wouldn't take the easy way out. If you wanted to have a chance to atone for your sins, you had to face them, not run away from them. You had no fucking idea how you were going to do this, but you had to try. Even if you couldn't make things up to Sanada, maybe you could still help someone else.
"Y/N!"
You jumped in surprise at the sudden yell, whipping around to look at the door but you lost your footing. Sanada's face twisted into horror as you started to fall, feeling weightless. Time seemed to slow down around you as you gravity took hold, dragging you toward the ground.
You didn't want this.
You didn't want to die.
A hand gripped your wrist tight and your body jerked to a stop, hitting the side of the building so hard that it knocked the wind from your lungs. The grip on your wrist was so tight that it felt like your hand was going to be ripped off. Your head spun as you tried to make sense of what was happening, but it was suddenly happening so fast that you couldn't keep up. One minute, you were dangling just inches from your death and the next, you were sprawled out on the rooftop, looking up at the darkening sky.
Sanada was breathing heavily as he kneeled beside you. "What the hell were you thinking?"
You blinked - once, twice - before slowly tilting your head to the side to look at him. You didn't understand, couldn't understand why he had saved you. Shouldn't he be happy to be rid of you? Maybe his bad memories would have died along with you, but so would the good ones.
He frowned, leaning over you. "Are you okay?"
"Why?" you croaked softly.
"Why what?"
"Why did you save me?"
"Are you serious?" His brow furrowed and a deep frown came to his lips. "What will killing yourself accomplish? Did you even stop to think about the grief you would leave behind? What about your mom and your dad? Niou and the others? Me? You're always so reckless! You never think about the consequences of your actions." He was angry and you didn't get why.
You slowly sat up, wincing at the pain in your body. "I wasn't going to do it."
"What?"
"I wasn't going to jump," you muttered, looking down at the ground. "I mean, I was going to, but then I changed my mind. You startled me and I lost my footing..." You winced at your words. You were blaming him for it but it wasn't his fault.
"I... sorry." He ran his hand down his face. "I saw you on the edge and I just... didn't think."
"Why are you apologizing?" Your brow furrowed. "I should be apologizing. I ruined your life. I betrayed your trust and ruined the friendship that we had built. It's all my fault..."
"You're right," he stated, lifting his head to meet your eyes. You wanted to look away, but his gaze was so intense that you couldn't bring yourself to do so. "You betrayed me, took advantage of our friendship. That's something I can't forget and it will be a long time before I can trust you again. For a while after that, I couldn't even think about you without feeling angry, but the thought of living without you in my life hurts a lot more."
"Eh?"
He looked away, feeling awkward since he wasn't very good at sharing his feelings. "We have years of friendship between us. Years of good memories. You've always been there for me, cheering me up when I was sad, giving me courage when I was afraid, encouraging me not to give up when things got tough. How can I just forget all of that?" He shook his head, meeting your eyes again. "You made a very big mistake, one that can't be easily forgiven and will never be forgotten. You understand that, right?"
You nodded slowly.
"But you also regret it. You know it was wrong and you've been beating yourself up over it, trying to figure out how you could make it up to me, how you could fix it. That's good enough for me."
"What are you saying?"
"Stop avoiding me and the rest of the team. We are going to fix this, together, just like we always have growing up. When one of us messes up, we put our heads together to fix it. I can't tell you when I'll be able to forgive you, but I know that one day I will. Our friendship... means too much to me to let go."
Tears stung at your eyes and, no matter how hard you tried to hold them back, they still fell down your cheeks. "I-I'm so sorry, G-Gen!"
"I know," he replied softly, shifting closer to you and holding out his arms, just as he did every time you were upset. You launched yourself into his arms, sobbing into his shirt.
Both of you knew that it was going to take a long time before things were fixed between you and it was going to take a lot of effort from both of you, but he was confident that this wound could be fixed. He was determined to make sure it was. Now, he just had to make you realize it, as well.
He could forgive you, but he worried that you couldn't forgive yourself.
Turn into a new chapter.

🐇 Easter Plastic (Kenya Oshitari)

Genre: Fluff, Comedy, Romance

━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
You looked at the literal mountain of egg-shaped plastic and sweatdropped. How in the hell were you supposed to fill every single one with candy by tomorrow? Speaking of, where in the world was the candy? You called out to the man who had brought you to Atobe manor, posing him that very question.
“Don’t worry, Y/N-san, the candy is being brought down from the third floor. It’ll be here shortly.”
You sweatdropped again when a line of men dressed in black suits filed into the room, carrying sacks of candy over their shoulders. There were now two mountains. You were feeling overwhelmed and you didn’t see any way that you could complete this many eggs in the time given to you.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket – it was a new message from your best friend, complaining about being bored. You quickly typed a reply and your thumb hovered over the send button. A light went off above your head and you cried out. Why hadn’t you thought of it before? You scrapped the message and quickly dialed his number.
“Naniwa’s speed star speaking~”
“Kenya! I need you!”
“W-What are you saying?!”
“You need to come to Atobe’s mansion now.”
“Why are you there?!”
“Don’t leave me waiting!”
“O-Oi, wait – ”
You ended the call with a bright smile, leaving the room to find Michael. Due to the distance, he sent a helicopter to pick up the speed star instead of a car. He even agreed to kidnap him if he refused, to which you thanked him with a deep bow. While waiting for them to return, you set out to work.
The eggs came in a variety of colors and they were a bit bigger than the size of a large egg. Most of the candy came in individually wrapped packages, making it easy to add them. When you first started, you tried to match the colors, but quickly realized how much longer that would take to do so you decided to just fit as much candy as you could into each egg before adding them to the completed basket.
About an hour later, you heard screaming coming from somewhere in the mansion. You looked up at the door curiously when it swung open. Kenya was thrown into the room, landing on his face a few inches from you. The doors were closed and you heard the distinct click of the lock.
‘T-That seems a bit unnecessary…’ you sweatdropped as you approached the boy.
Kenya’s body twitched from beside you and you poked his shoulder.
“Are you still alive?”
He lifted his head, glaring at you. “You had me kidnapped,”
“Well, yeah,” you shrugged, returning to your work. “You wouldn’t have come on your own.”
“Of course not!” He cried, springing up and pointing an accusing finger at you. “What the heck is this all about?!”
You scowled at him, smacking the back of his knee to make him fall to the ground again. “I told you, I need you. Now stop yelling.”
His cheeks flushed at your words. “N-Need me for what?”
You gestured toward the mountain. “I have to fill all of these with candy by tomorrow. I can’t do it alone.”
His eye twitched in annoyance. “There’s no way in hell I’m helping you!”
“No? I guess even Naniwa’s speed star isn’t fast enough to complete this job.”
“I’ll show you!” He let out a determined yell as he started to fill the eggs at a rapid pace. “No speed, no life!”
You sweatdropped at how easy he was to manipulate, but you would be lying if you said you weren’t impressed. He had easily doubled the amount in just a few minute’s time than you had managed in over an hour. He was crazy, but you felt so thankful for his insanity.
“You’re going too slow!” He exclaimed, not even sparing you a glance. “Speed up!”
“Sorry, I’m not a speed freak.” You muttered under your breath, trying to increase your speed.
“What?”
“Nothing!” You were in awe at the reduced size of the mountains – they were more like ant hills now.
Kenya was breathing heavily, his hands working at light speed to finish up the last bit of eggs. “Done!”
A smile tugged at your lips and you threw your arms around his neck. “Thank you, Kenya!”
Pink dusted his cheeks as he slowly responded, wrapping his arms around your waist. “I-It wasn’t a big deal,”
“To make up for having you kidnapped and manipulating you, how about you stay at my place tonight? We can order pizza!”
“Sure,” He nodded, covering his mouth with the back of his hand. The warmth radiating from his cheeks made him blush more. “Wait.. what do you mean you manipulated me?!”
You giggled as you reached for the doorknob. You shook it several times, but the knob refused to turn.
“It’s still locked, isn’t it?”
“…”
He facepalmed. “Why did they even lock the door?!”
“To keep you from escaping? I don’t know.” You scowled, still trying to twist the handle. “The door was left open when I was here alone.”
“You don’t think… they did it on purpose?”
“Why would they do that?”
Silence.
You frowned, wondering why the room had turned so quiet, but before you could turn around, arms wrapped tight around your waist. His breath fanned against your ear as his chest pressed against your back.
“K-Kenya… what are you doing?”
His hands rubbed your sides softly. “Taking advantage of the situation~”
“What – ”
His hand gripped your chin, forcing you to look at him. Your lips collided.
Your body was frozen – how long had he been waiting to do this? Judging from the intensity of the kiss, it’s probably been a while.
His tongue ran across your bottom lip, but you were still too shocked to respond. His eyes narrowed in frustration and he pinched your side with his nail. You gasped in pain and he took advantage, thrusting his tongue into your mouth. You snapped out of your daze, your hand fisting around the fabric of his shirt.
The both of you were so distracted in the heated kiss that you didn’t hear the doorknob jingling as it was unlocked. Atobe raised a perfect brow at the sight before him, coughing loudly to gain your attention.
You jumped in surprise, biting down on his lip by accident. You were both breathing heavily when you separated, cheeks blazing from the intensity of the situation.
Atobe smirked as he leaned against the doorframe. “Having fun?”
You realized that it had been planned by him and you scowled.
His eyes scanned the room and he nodded in approval. “Ore-sama didn’t expect you to finish so quickly. You’re free to go.”
Feeling embarrassed, you didn’t say anything as you brushed past him, Kenya hot on your heels. The two of you remained silent until Atobe’s house was no longer in view. You glanced at him. His lip was split on the left side, but it didn’t seem to be bleeding, though it was bright red.
“Kenya?”
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry about your lip…”
“It’s okay. I’m sorry about acting that way…” He rubbed the back of his neck with bright cheeks. “I’m not sure what came over me…”
“Me neither.” You responded, slipping your hand into his and giving it a gentle squeeze. “So, you still wanna get some pizza?”
He grinned, returning the squeeze. “Sounds good!”

“Man, Shuu, how did you get so good at pool?” you scowled as you walked down the sidewalk, hands stuffed into your pockets. “You totally smoked me!”
Shuusuke chuckled, bringing his hand to his mouth. “I’ve been playing for a long time now. You were really good, though.”
“But not good enough, ne?” you nudged his shoulder with your own. “Well, next time I’m gonna beat you, just you wait.”
He smiled, cocking his head to the side. “I’ll be looking forward to that, Y/N-chan.”
You had a lot of fun spending the day with him, even if he did annihilate you at pool. These days, it was rare to be able to spend time with him because he was always busy with tennis or schoolwork, preparing for high school. You understood this, of course, so you took full advantage of these rare opportunities that you got with him.
You glanced over at him, watching the wind lightly ruffling his brown locks. A smile sat on his face for no reason at all, but it just made him more attractive, in your opinion. You bit your lip as your hand brushed against his own, so light that you wondered if he had even felt it. You wanted to hold his hand but you didn’t want to cross the line or make things awkward between you, so it was easy to resist the urge to just grab his hand. He did notice though, sending you a curious look. You turned your head away quickly, feeling your cheeks heating up.
To your surprise, he slid his hand into yours, lacing his fingers through your own before bringing your hand up so he could press a soft kiss to your skin. Despite the heat of your face, you couldn’t hold back the smile tugging at your lips which he returned, his cerulean eyes shining with warmth and love as they met yours.

🐇 Easter Eggs (Ryou Shishido)
Tumblr media
Genre: Comedy, School, Fluff
Word Count: 1,646
Pairing: Reader x Shishido
World: The Prince of Tennis
Table of Contents
━━━━━━༻🐇༺━━━━━━
When you woke up that morning, a bad feeling overcame you. Your instincts were rarely wrong and you knew that something annoying was bound to happen. True enough, Atobe himself was standing at the school entrance waiting for you. As soon as your eyes met, you darted in the opposite direction. He had tried to give chase but, thanks to his fangirls, he hadn’t been able to move. Who knew fangirls could actually be useful?
The rest of the day was spent avoiding Hyotei’s king at all costs. You knew that whatever he wanted, it wouldn’t end well for you. The looks of the regulars didn’t help ease your mind, either, since you shared almost every class with at least one of them. What annoyed you the most, though, was Oshitari’s smug smirk. You were determined not to get caught up in whatever disaster the tennis team was about to bring, but you forgot one important detail:
Atobe Keigo is the king, and the king always gets his way.
When the final bell rang, you already had your bag packed and tried to dart out of the room before Oshitari could stop you. Of course, the king had anticipated this and every single regular was already standing outside of your classroom. They were fast, but there was no way in hell they were that fast. Had they skipped class?
Oshitari chuckled from behind you, resting his hand on your shoulder. “I’m afraid Atobe would like to speak to you. There’s nowhere to run, YN.”
You sighed in defeat. “Well, it was worth a try, wasn’t it?”
His lips twitched up into a smirk as he turned his gaze to the brunette. “Shishido, grab their arm just to be safe.”
“Is that really necessary, Oshitari-kun?” you questioned, placing your hands on your hips. “I know there’s no getting out of it. I won’t try and run.”
“I would rather not take the risk.” He pushed up those fake glasses of his, mischief twinkling within his dark eyes. It was clear to you that he had an ulterior motive, but asking about it was useless.
Doing as he was told, Shishido lightly gripped your upper arm. The regulars formed a barrier around you and you felt the urge to facepalm. You were definitely going to give that monkey king a piece of your mind for this!
Shishido cleared his throat and leaned down a bit, his voice low as he addressed you. “Sorry about this…”
“It’s fine – ” your words died in your throat when you glanced over at him. He refused to look at you, keeping his chocolate brown eyes trained directly in front of him. His cheeks had turned a light hue of red. You blinked in confusion. “Shishido-san… are you blushing?”
“Of course not!” He snapped, quickly looking away from you. Gakuto started to crack up and Oshitari’s smirk grew. The others hadn’t heard the exchange and only looked between the four of you with confusion.
You expected to hear screaming fans when you got close to the tennis courts, but it was completely silent and there wasn’t a fan in sight. How had he managed to pull that off?
“Atobe’s butler is selling regulars merchandise near the entrance of the school,” Oshitari commented with a glance at you. “The fans flocked to it instantly.”
“They’re creepy!” Gakuto pouted, folding his arms over his chest. “That stupid plushy looks nothing like me!”
“You’re just mad that he made one of you and Yuushi hugging.” Shishido scoffed, enjoying the redhead’s cry of anger.
“Hmm, if I buy one, will you guys sign it?” You knew signed products sold for quite a pretty penny, especially at a school full of crazy rich kids.
“Of course.” “No way!” The pair chorused.
You tried to hide your laughter behind your hand but failed miserably. Although they could be annoying, the regulars could also be pretty amusing as they interacted with one another.
“Arn~ what’s so funny?” Atobe raised a brow when he saw your body shaking with laughter.
“Dirty pair,” you managed out before another round of giggles stopped you from talking. Yuushi and Atobe were the only ones that knew about the pairing name. The rest just looked at you, wondering what the hell you were going on about.
“Don’t worry, Y/N-hime.” Atobe ran his fingers through his purple locks. “If you comply with our demands, ore-sama will ensure that you get a plush for every regular and pairing.”
“Pairing?” Shishido wrinkled his nose. “The hell is that?”
“I don’t want anyone to have a plush of me!” Gakuto cried, grabbing onto his doubles partner. “Make him stop, Yuushi!”
Yuushi said nothing as he shook the redhead off before throwing his arm over your shoulder. “Come along, we don’t have all day.”
“What is it you want from me anyway?” You questioned, wiping away the last of your tears; you hadn’t laughed that hard in a while.
“Ore-sama is hosting an Easter festival,” Atobe announced, taking his usual seat underneath an umbrella. The rest of the regulars sat on the benches, minus Yuushi who kept his iron grip on your shoulders and Jirou who had been asleep in the stands the whole time. “There’s a lot of work to be done and not much time to do it, so ore-sama expects his friends to pull their weight as well.”
“But we’re not friends.” You told him. “And what weight are you pulling?”
His eye twitched, but he didn’t allow his smirk to leave his lips. “Don’t be so cold, hime. Of course, we are friends! And if you must know, ore-sama is organizing the entire festival!”
“In other words, you’re sitting there ordering people around.”
Twitch.
Muffled laughter.
“You can’t have an Easter festival without eggs. We will be having decorating contests, as well as easter egg hunts, so I’m sending you to collect the eggs.”
‘He ignored my comment’, you scowled. “Why me? Shouldn’t that be a job for one of your servants?”
“All of them are preoccupied with other matters.”
“Of course they are.”
“Ore-sama will be paying for them.” He produced his black and gold card from his wallet. “You’re simply the delivery person.”
“How flattering.” You sighed, grabbing the card from his hand. You just wanted to get this over with so you could go back to avoiding him. “How many?”
“Five thousand.”
You choked on air. Yuushi patted your back harder than necessary until you were breathing somewhat normal again. “F-Five thousand eggs?! Are you crazy?!”
He opened his mouth to respond but you quickly held your hand up to stop him.
“Don’t answer that, I know you’re crazy!”
“That’s rude, hime.”
“Do you even hear yourself? There’s no way I’m going to find a store willing to sell me five thousand eggs! The chances of finding one with that many on hand will be hard enough!”
Atobe felt his level of annoyance rise, but he refrained from cutting you off, letting you rant and rave until you were out of breath – which didn’t take long seeing as you had just regained the ability to breathe normally. When you started to huff, he finally spoke up. “Are you done?”
“…”
“Michael has called ahead and has the eggs being held for you. All you have to do is pay and pick them up. A car is waiting for you.”
Already feeling exhausted, you just turned around and headed for the exit.
“Shishido will be going with you.” Atobe’s voice made you pause.
“What?! Why me?!” Shishido protested, his cheeks dusting with pink. He met Yuushi’s eyes and knew that this had been the plan the whole time. It was no secret among the regulars that Shishido had a major crush on you. Of course, he never had any intention of acting upon it, so Atobe took it upon himself to force the two of you together.
“Is there a problem? Arn~” Atobe smirked at the brunette, daring him to question his authority.
With a scowl, Shishido stuffed his hands in his pockets and brushed past you. You sent Yuushi a look before following the brunette out the school gate.

True to his word, a car was waiting to take you both to your destination. As it turned out, you had to visit eight different stores in order to get the whole amount he had requested – each store was located between Tokyo and Kanagawa prefecture. By the time you visited the last store, it was well past ten at night. The driver was willing to take you both home, but you declined, telling him to get the eggs back to Atobe, safe and sound.
“Thanks for giving me a hand.” You smiled up at him as you made your way home. Thankfully, you both lived in the same direction.
“It would’ve taken longer alone.” He shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck.
“True~ but I know you didn’t want to come along. I don’t blame you, though. Atobe is such a pain.” You sighed, brushing the hair away from your face. Who knew buying eggs could be so exhausting?
“I didn’t mind…” He muttered under his breath, feeling his cheeks start to burn.
You hummed, fighting back the smile that tried to take over your lips. Although Shishido was sure only a few of the regulars knew about his feelings, it had been pretty obvious to you from the start.
“Shishido-kun~” You slipped your hand into his with a smile. “I like you too.”
“W-What is this all of sudden?!” He scowled at you but didn’t try to remove his hand. Instead, his grip tightened as he looked away from you.
You chuckled, lightly swinging your hands back and forth between the two of you. He didn’t need to admit it out loud – his actions spoke a thousand times louder than his words could.
