I really really like this song, just recently heard it from this new album When Death Was Mine, I highly recommend this song + the entire album + the artists whole work!! its all really good :3

But this song, I feel, works REALLY well for Sans’ POV of what we all know is gonna happen with Wingdings…

FIRST BIT!

How could this happen to us? The push and tug of your trust: are my favorite lines when attaching it to this AU. The perspective being Sans before the incident. We don’t know if Sans had been there during it, or if they’d had some sort of fight before it, or even something else; But I imagine GENERALLY something horrible and dramatic happened before. For the purposes of this im going with them having a big confrontation days before shit goes down. And this line would take place after that confrontation.

The curtains closed, the doors been shut: Wingdings being SILLY! and shutting everything and everyone out to do Gaster shenanigans!!! YAY!

Kicking up dust. Im playing the FOOL again: that dust ofc not being any USUAL dust, no no *finger wag* theres a really cool visual in my head of it being like a transition of Sans going outside to walk it off, going into Snowdin and kicking the snow, before that turning into dust being blown off from HOLES BEIN PUT INTO HANDS!!! for whatever reason why does he do that/why does that happen 😭 i’m excited to find out. Oh yeah and the fool part refers to how currently Sans feels foolish for trusting Wingdings that everything was totally A-Okay/he could handle it himself and Sans didn’t need to push.

SECOND BIT!

Am I gullible enough to take a walk in your shoes? The way you strut with a bluff, the way you act so aloof: More saltiness on Sans’ half. I love Wingdings’ style of lying, he just doesn’t say enough to actually lie 😭😭 I hate him sm.

I’m used to balancing acts up to my neck: I really like this with Sans’ character not even just within this AU. He’s doing a LOT a lot of the time, while also making himself look lazy which is just another balancing act in itself. BUT for this AU specifically id imagine its more about Wingdings specifically than just his life in general-

The truth is that as the older you get, they’re more indifferent to you. The less they’ll act all impressed: This one would be more from Wingdings’ perspective cause yeah Sans is currently pretty frustrated I DON’T THINK HE’D BE THIS RUDE- I think this works better with the context of this being WDs own doubts, he was trying to figure out how to FREE THE UNDERGROUND- now he’s tryna free the godamn universe like MAN 😭 he’s gotta stop putting so much pressure on himself. Though I really REALLY like the idea of him not really caring about making relationships, but still needing to be loved by the wider public in a way. Like relationships? booo. Reputation? YAAAASSS

They’ll find all sorts of new ways to get inside your head: same premise as the last lines but I wanna highlight it cause it also works really well with Wingdings again, spiraling down the madness pit. He’s finding all sorts of new ways to get inside his OWN HEAD overthinking, smh…

Between you and me, if it’s alright, i’m not staying: Sans, in fact, does not stay at the lab! Those days are over, now it’s time to talk to mysterious door ladies and do nothing at sentry stands and purposefully annoy your brother.

The song as a whole gets a tad more aggressive and energetic than I feel Sans would be like, but the visuals of this happening inside of his head while he’s just kinda going 😶 irl is really fun :3

In case my blog wasn't obvious I Want To Write You a Song is one of my FAVORITE songs of 1D I think I would cry like a baby if I heard it at a wedding. But I also think I can only reserve it for my marriage to Harry (it's a song for us). My funeral is also just everyone going to be sitting there and listening to 1D and solo albums. It's how I want to be honored. I think I would spontaneously catch on fire if I heard one of those songs at a wedding--Black and White especially.

Taylor is so real for that--good for her. I've been listening to Big Jet Plane for the last twenty minutes or so! It's really sweet. Very love at first sight of them 👀 I think I could do something with it! 💕

my bf hasn't a CLUE that I'm a "writer." It's really hard to keep a straight face sometimes. I have to tell him things like I took a creative writing class in high school (I didn't) when I want to suggest ANYTHING to help. But honestly, I think he's a really good writer on his own. Prone to overthinking it. I usually just reference some of my favorite books and such. I would kms if he read one of my stories tbh. This is like a diary for me. I don't want anyone I know in my personal life to know about it 😂

I like to do NOTHING on my weekends. But other people don't feel that way I guess. Idk hahaha I'm just a little different I guess heheheheI just hit the bookstore myself! For once I didn't buy anything--a miracle really. But I do have some suggestions. I made this post when someone asked about book recs before. I stand by this list COMPLETELY. But I can add a few more as well!

Normal People by Sally Rooney -- the actual way the book is written is a little confusing tbh (no quotation marks during dialogue) but it really holds up to the show as well. Not sure if you've seen it but I would highly recommend both.

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow -- a little long at times but I overall enjoyed it! Cool premise and I thoroughly enjoyed the relationships between the sisters and such.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey -- one of the hardest books I've ever read, but actually really good. The movie was pretty accurate to it as well if I recall correctly. It was pretty sad though so don't read it if you're having a good time.

That's all I really got right now. I probably have more to recommend but I've been bringing books I finish that I don't plan on rereading my work and leaving them for other people to take to clear room on my bookshelf. I also give the ones I DO want back to my sister to read so we have something to talk about hehehehe

P.S. it's a guilty pleasure of mine but I read this book My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick the MC's name is Sam and she falls in love with the boy next door and there is a LOT of drama as well but the falling in love part is... 👌 it's a YA and came out in like 2012 and I'm putting it here in the P.S. because it's been years since I've read it, but I've never read a book where my name was the MC's name. But I think about it a lot. It's in a box under my bed along with other favorite novels of mine from my YA adventures that I can't part with. (Also, a quick Google Search says you can't buy it in Barnes and Noble--at least not near me) but I wanted to recommend it anyway.

to the 😶 anon i just wanted to say that you are so so strong for everything that you're going through and don't listen to the speech therapist !! ik they're technically qualified but a good therapist (speech or not) would never give up on their client or at the very least refer them to someone more qualified and trained.

i'm absolutely appalled and disgusted by their unprofessional behaviour, and please don't let them make you feel disheartened or like you'll never be able to speak again. i really and truly believe you can and you will no matter what, no one is beyond helping and that's the first thing we learn as psychologists/therapists.

trauma responses are incredibly tricky, especially ones like selective mutism. but if you haven't already i'd recommend seeing a psychotherapist alongside a new and better speech therapist. i'm not exactly sure how speech therapy works where you're based, but from what i know they're not specialised in dealing with the more psychological aspects of it, like with it being a result of trauma.

if you work to unpack the underlying cause of it first it could prove to be a lot more useful than just speech therapy alone. honestly from experience cbt does wonders and i'd highly recommend finding a good and qualified psychotherapist that specialises in ptsd/trauma responses. maybe put the speech therapy on pause for now and recuperate and when you're ready and comfortable look for a psychotherapist.

working at your own pace is so incredibly important and know that it doesn't matter how long you take, the road to recovery is a process that can't be rushed and a small improvement is still improvement!! even going back a couple steps is essential to progress and healing so please don't feel like it's not possible. it absolutely is and it's well within your reach.

i know i'm just a stranger on the internet but i really and truly believe you can do this and you've got this. i am so so proud of you for everything you've endured and i really hope that you report that speech therapist to their board or something. genuinely disgusting behaviour tbh i cannot believe it.

~A time that Mass scared the living crap out of Alaska because of a book~ (To be fair, he had a good reason-

(Also, a little HC for some context for this: Mass really loves reading books and practically LIVES on BookTok. He decided to read "The Song of Achilles", and to say he was an absolute wreck after would be an understatement.)

He just wanted to get a few drinks to restock his fridge. That’s all he wanted. Alaska did not expect to get jumpscared by Mass, who was sitting at the kitchen island with mascara and eyeliner running down his face and a bottle of whiskey in his hand, and a rather "relaxed" smile on his face to top it off. Alaska wasn’t even sure that Mass even knew he was there.

"Hey Boston. Ya good?" Said the Last Frontier with a chuckle. "Did your favorite sports team lose or some sh*t?? Cuz ya look like you’re having an existential crisis." He was smirking teasingly at Mass, but he quickly wiped that smirk off his face when the smaller snapped his head up to glare friggin’ SWORDS into his soul. Not daggers, not even butcher knives, SWORDS!- into his soul.

"Shut. The. F(SPEAKS BOSTON)K. Up." Mass said darkly with a slight eye twitch.

"Dang, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." Alaska said teasingly. He saw York walk into the kitchen with an empty coffee mug and gestured to Mass, who had gone back to staring at the table with something only be described as either hatred or peacefulness.

"What’s up with im’??" York asked with a confused expression.

"I’m not actually sure. He ain’t lookin’ to hot right now." Said the tallest.

"Yea- well no dip Sherlock." York said, rolling his eyes. He walked over to Mass and leaned on the table next to him. The glare that Mass gave him honestly sent shivers down his spine just a bit. "H-hey Mass…..Um- Are-are ya doin’ aight?"

Mass sighed a bit and laid his head on the table. "Shut up."

"No. I don’t think I will. What’s wrong? Is it a book you read or somethin’?" The younger asked. He smirked knowingly when Mass nodded. "Yup. Thought so. What book was it?" He asked. He watched as his older brother pointed at a book that was on the table in the living room. York got up, walked over, and picked up the book, carefully reading the title.

"The Song of Achilles…..OH- Ohoho you poor, poor soul…." He said out loud. He too, had read the book and knew EXACTLY what was wrong with his brother. York walked over two his brother and put a gentle, yet firm, hand on his back. "Yea bud, yer not gonna be okay for a good long while."

"Why. Just why. I thought it would have a happy ending, York. But it wasn’t. It personally attacked my emotions." Mass said as a few more tears rolled down his face, dragging more eyeliner with them. He took a swig from the bottle of whiskey he was holding and smiled maniacally.

"Shh… I know, I know…." York comforted. This was gonna fun.

"Is he seriously crying over a book?! It’s just a d*mn book, what’s the big deal??" Alaska said, chuckling a bit. He instantly shut the f😶 up when Mass started glaring swords into his soul again.

"If you don’t shut the f(speaks Boston) up right now, I SWEAR TO GOD, I will PERSONALLY unbraid your DNA from the inside and I will PERSONALLY DEMONSTRATE, why kneecaps are a privilege and not a human right." Said the Bay State with an amount of malice that seemed impossible to comprehend.

"Pfft- but I ain’t-" Alaska started but got cut off by York saying:

"Listen, I know we don’t really get along, or he//, even talk, but I would highly recommend that you not say another word and go back to the safety of your garage before he actually decides to follow through with his threats." York said with a surprisingly sympathetic look on his face as he wrapped his arms around his brother in case Alaska decided to say something else and he would have to hold his brother off as long as he could. Alaska looked he was about to say something else but didn’t. "Good choice."

Alaska just rolled his eyes, grabbed a few drinks, and went back to the garage. One things for sure, well two-, but whatever: One, he was never gonna forget that look that Mass gave him, and two, he just barely dodged a bullet.

fiction: east of eden by john steinbeck. heartbreaking news: the world-renowned author who wrote several 'great american novels' in his lifetime is actually a good writer and this 600-page multigenerational tale loosely based off the story of cain and abel is a straight fucking banger. by coincidence, i happened to be watching season 4 of succession while reading this book and the combination was dangerous to my mental health, i highly recommend. cathy ames, you will always be famous to me.

fiction: the bluest eye by toni morrison. trigger warning for child molestation. this book is devastating, following the life of a young black child growing up after the great depression who begins to develop internalized racism and an inferiority complex. i'm never really ever going to forgive my 11th grade english teacher for assigning this book in class but also i'm eternally grateful to him and i think it's a book that everyone needs to read at least once in their life.

fiction: act your age, eve brown by talia hibbert. this is a cute little romance book that sets a lighter tone to the rest of the books in this rec list <3 technically, this is the third book in the brown sisters trilogy but it's the only one i really enjoyed and you can read it as a standalone. it follows eve, a flighty rich girl who gets cut off and has to find a job quick. enter jacob, dealing with an understaffed bed & breakfast, who doesn't really have other available options but to hire her. cue opposites attract.

nonfiction: men who hate women: from incels to pickup artists, the truth about extreme misogyny and how it affects us all by laura bates. lol this book made me so miserable it took me a month to read it, i don't know how she did it. essentially, this is half laura bates going undercover (when possible) in misogynistic communities and offering her experiences and half a comprehensive view of the hellscape that is the manosphere with each chapter dedicated to a specific subcategory of, well...men who hate women.

nonfiction: everything i know about love by dolly alderton. this collection of essays/short stories/vignettes of alderton's life is the equivalent of a warm hug. read it if you want to be reminded of how deeply you love and appreciate your friends, and also if you want to laugh about someone else's mistakes during their 20s instead of reminiscing on your own.

nonfiction: know my name by chanel miller. does everyone remember emily doe, the anonymous woman from the stanford assault case? great, because this was her memoir and i think it should be required reading. i don't think anyone doubted this book would be popular, but chanel miller is an incredible writer and she did not leave a single thing out in telling her story. she lets you know that the trauma she's endured isn't just from that party, but also from the trial and media storm that followed, even when she still had her anonymity. it's not just a story of a woman detailing how she's begun healing, it's a statement towards the way the american justice system fails the majority of the people and the way people refused to let her reclaim her own story.

Void Black Shadow by Corey J. White

Series: Voidwitch Saga, #2 Read time: 3 Days Rating: 4/5 Stars

The Quote: That's right I'm not afraid of your guns or your prison; I chose this. You think I'm your prisoner? You're all dead fucks walking, and I'm a monster in human skin.

Warnings: murder, torture and erm... genocide... 😶 yeah it's a lot.

Mariam "Mars" Xi is back. While kicking ass destroying the MEPHISTO fleet at the end of Killing Gravity she lost a friend, Mookie. Now she's off to track him down and bring him home to Trix and Squid on the Nova. She did also gain a potential ally if she can train him, help him and get him healthy, the boy she saved from Briggs's ship, known only as Pale. She is teaching him control but they have a long way to go.

While in Killing Gravity our antagonist was a known quantity, Briggs and MEPHISTO the antagonist/s for Void Black Shadow is more of an unknown, it's still MEPHISTO but there are new players as well. While looking for information on where MEPHISTO sent Mookie the crew of the Nova run into the Legionnaires. The Legionnaires are augmented MEPHISTO soldiers. They are highly reminiscent of the Borg, heavily augmented, with a hive mind and no access to individual thought. I can't remember all my Trek lore but I'm pretty sure the Borg are the inspiration for the Legionnaires. They are an effective villain or the pawns to the villain, in the same way that the void witches were for Briggs. The face of MEPHISTO in Void Black Shadow is Doctor Ratham. The man who runs the prison moon that Mookie has been sent to, Homan. Ratham is an intelligent man when it comes to psychological and physical manipulation and torture. He knows exactly what is most likely to hold a prisoner in line. As a villain, he's the right choice, intelligence over the force of Briggs.

I like the ending which I'm actually going to write thoughts about. Void Black Shadow set up Static Ruin well, encourages the reader to finish the series. Void Black Shadow is an almost unexpectedly intelligent title. The phrase itself appears multiple times with different meanings, the most obvious being space. 

This moment lead me to another thought. Mars is a protagonist you don't want to think too hard about. Honestly, she is probably closer to an antihero. There is just so much death and danger around her. Those closest to her risk their lives, sanity and bodies. She can also play a bit fast and loose with the innocents in play. I really hope Mars finds her way back to Squid, they are good for her. She is different around them. Almost like they remind her a little of Sera. I've decided Pale is interesting, I didn't expect him to be so important. But I can see him becoming a real wild card.

Before I jump into my quote dump I will write what would usually be a conclusion. The plot of Mars saving a friend and getting vengeance the only way knows how is enjoyable but highly violent. That said I do recommend this but If you are going to read it I advise reading Killing Gravity first. While this may standalone reading as part of the sago you will get so much more out of it. The characters are complicated and you will start thinking about the morals of action, means and ends. But that doesn't make the characters any less likeable.

Weekly Update

ok, many have been asking about the next chapter. Which is chapter 8.

The name of that chapter will be "decades of denial" and will most of the time play in the past again.

It will also mostly revolve around Héctor and Ernesto and the time they started touring. We will get some very important and deep looks into situations and clues that will play a huge role in the future.

Also, get ready for some Cenesto content 😏 *I am calling you out sir de la Cruz! Muhehuehue*

No seriously, since I started analyzing and studying that man into pieces, writing about his whole past and all ... I developed a soft spot for him 💙 By no means am I ignoring, belittling or justifying the absolute crap he's caused and done BUT I refuse to acknowledge him as the villain most people see him as. Anyway, I stop myself here because 1. I could ramble about Ernesto for an hour! 2. you will read about it all anyway! One by one!

To all of you crying my ears off about Imelda and Héctor! 🤣 YEAH I SUFFER TOO! believe it or not! 🥺 it hurts my heart to have the babies go through so much but it is what it is! Patience, patience! 😌 All the pain has it's purpose and you will see it will ALL be worth it in the end! The other thing is ... I am writing my book brutally hard, honest and as realistic as can be! Which means, looking at the whole issue and the situation, a quick reunion just isn't going to happen. But that only means if it does, it's going to be REAL GOOD!

I was asked about Rosita and Victoria recently and, yes, we are going to see more of the Riveras in the coming chapters. Also some important bonding between them and Héctor!

Art & stuff

Way too much still! Well almost! I have the memory part to finish still and one requested scene from the book.

I just have SO many ideas and I need to work them down.

And may I throw in what a stunnging singer Ernesto is as well? Like, damn that man can belt out notes alright! I mean, hello? Going from chest voice to head voice is hard and he and Imelda just shake that out of their wrists. But Héctor! Oh my god! 😶 the way he sings the low notes ... his chest voice! That teeny tiny growl ... Help! I get shivers and goosebumps every single time! Not by any means a trained operaish voice like Nesto but Hohoo my goodness the warmth! I am total trash for baritons that can also slay tenor! (And yes I know what I'm talking about since I'm a semiprofessional opera/musical singer. with 8 years of vocal lessons)

okay, our lights in ashes. probably my most ambitious and intentional fic. (the "time has come today" series is longer but it was all an accident.) let's jump in.

3. How did you find the visuals for this fic? Is there a method you have?

no focused method! whenever I see a picture that catches my eye, I save it. if I visit a place or read about a place, I keep a picture too. I do the same with quotations I come across. my memory isn't photographic, but it's not far off and my visual memory is the key to unlocking everything else about a place or a feeling. this was a really visual fic and I definitely made up a special folder of images saved over the years that got me into the right headspace. there wasn't much I looked up deliberately, but I remember I was looking at a lot of Andrew Wyeth paintings--though they're more Midwest than Southern--and I watched quite a few movies that fit the Southern Gothic vibe like Eve's Bayou (highly recommended) and Shy People.

11. Was there a scene that you hadn't originally planned to include? Why did you decide to fit it in?

in the outline I shared, I mentioned Cas as "homo sacer" which is a concept the continental philosopher Giorgio Agamben writes about. I read his book but, as is becoming a trend with me it seems, find it more compelling in summary than in depth. Homo sacer (sacred man) is "a figure of Roman law: a person who is banned and may be killed by anybody, but may not be sacrificed in a religious ritual." and I had considered how this might apply to Cas in relation to the other angels because he is an outsider, to my mind. it feels right to me that he can be killed but not sacrificed, should it come to that in Heaven. that was something I wanted to explore but then it was way, way too far outside the plot and would've been incoherent with the narrative. I love to read and write about philosophical concepts but I hate when an author includes them just because it's their hobby horse. so I sacrificed that pretty quickly and continued on with the romance.

17. What was the hardest scene to write?

I didn't want to write the hangman episode because I really wanted it to be so good and was afraid it would suck. 😶 but since I write in order, I couldn't continue unless I wrote it so I just had to.

WW is in his element here, there's modern dance in this choreo, so what he's learned with traditional chinese dance is perfect here. Look at his turn at 1:07, it's clean and elegant.

Now, does this mean Ten is not in control of his body? Nope, but he wasn't trained to control every finger and toe to perfection (like in ballet). Is this fundamental to him for his dancing? Not really. Still, ballet basics wouldn't hurt, it would help to turn better, to have cleaner moves. Ballet classes are highly recommended to who want to do mainly modern. I remember the difference between ballet-modern dancers vs just modern dancers was huge.

I don't know what genre are kpop choreos, since it's not really my area, but they are a mix of everything out there, based on the concept. So ballet/modern basics would help anyway.

I don't know if Shotaro took ballet/modern class, I don't think? But he dedicated his whole life before Nct, since he was 5, to dance. That's a lot and something idols can't do, since they have to take tons of other different classes. He is a (real) dancer, not an idol dancer. If I'm not wrong, he competed in hiphop dance competitions too. In some of those, the level required is crazy like...crazily high.

To the sweet anon that keep asking me, please mind that I'm just a person with her own personal experience and opinion. Do you like Haechan dancing skills? Please do it! He's not a bad dancer, after all he took ballet lessons, as I said it helps (surely he was at the front in that Superhuman turn because he was the only one to do a proper job). Someone said (and I agree) he's a smart dancer, he doesn't waist unrequired energy. And Idol dancer =/= bad. What I can't stand is when fans call them genius.

Jeno's been trained only in SM right? He's one of the best in Nct, has powerful moves in an animalistic way, as Jeff Avenue said on YT. That's what I think too, but I don't perceive a great control over his moves. Jaemin I'm sorry, I like him but I don't really look at him dancing. He's normally good.

At the end what's matter is you liking an idol's dance style. I personally love Tae's, but I recognise he can't do steps that e.g Mark does properly (cleaner). Same for Mark (You don't like his shoulders, that's fine. It's his style and you're simply not into it, unlike me 😉).

I wanna say something more about Ten. To me, at the beginning he was very raw, a lot of passion but no technics. Now I enjoy watching him a lot more. In 90's Love's choreo he was the best to me (alongside Mark), it's his genre.

Oh, about Johnny. Don't know, he was never really good since the start. I know being tall and everything doesn't help. But Sungchan is very tall as well and he controls his limbs better. Jisung too, he was just 14 back then and you could already see his huge potential. He's 19 now, still so young, but has already improved so much where he was lacking. But like everyone, he has some genres where he shines, other less.

I assume Johnny is not a born dancer 😆 BUT it's funny how in Kick It he was the only one able to always carry the move at 1:59 out properly https://youtu.be/2OvyA2__Eas Woo did well too, everybody else 🙈 Physically it's a very tiring movement (as soon as I saw it I was like 😳😶) and Johnny has good muscle, he was able to keep his hand elegantly too. He was at the front and at the center.

Mark's dancing is not appealing to me as well. He looks like a marionette on strings, always excessevily energetic and twitchy. The only time he attracts my attention on stage is when he strides into a cool pose, for a "he is going through puberty" boy, he can look very sure of himself (No pressure but we pressin'). Which is fascinating, Baekhyun never manages to look threatening, and he is the martial art guy with more experience under the belt as an idol. The face can be so misleading.

Johnny's problem is not being tall. It's his bulk and the slow speed of motor neurons' responce. His limbs don't react to the commands from the brain quick enough. I don't know if it's possible to overcome this flaw with training and making the nervous system grow new paths, synapses and generally innervate the muscle fibers better, or not. Sungchan and Jungwoo are light in bone and frame, it helps them. Probably yes? If the body is trained from the early age. There are plenty of tall and heavy, yet good, dancers. There is a ballet dancer of 193cm, Fabrice Calmels.
