Excitingly presenting Count Maurice Maeterlinck's "The Great Mystery", published 1924 in Jena, Germany. Maeterlinck is presenting prehistoric occultism and archaic forms of religion with the focus on common metaphysical conclusions to show how the search for the primary reason can be found in discovering our transcendental I. The "Great Mystery" is not about doctrines of secret societies or exploited revelation through wonder and magic, it is about the purest knowledge we can have: Knowing to know nothing and the confession of the unrecognisable, because in all things we can just assume prohabilities.
Questioning existence and being, diving into ontological and metaphysical theories, is an advance for strenghtening the mindfulness and as well cures bias, that are preventing earthly ones to be fully capable of the One and Eternal Good.
Wonderfully Maeterlinck is underlining that the first primitive beliefs were too metaphysically, too incomprehensible, to nourish a religion. The highest wisdom of "Knowing of Not Knowing" and the confession of our mental limitation, are the most significant cognitical achievements. Especially in our science-optimistic epoch, it is easily to underestimate phenomena, because the technology to measure cannot be adequate.
Maeterlinck is consulting many regions and the theogony and cosmogony, to underdraw, that the One, who is the Cause and Reason of all, is defined in an analogous manner, but in order to reach more peple, were rephrased over the decades. This is also kind of the problem, we have today: In order to make metaphysical discoveries more understandable for the standard population, scholars invented assistance and therefore masquerading the Eternal Good, by materializing Divine essence creating a maladjustment, that haven't helped the majority, to come in contact with their inner God, because they were just made to catchers of miracles and slaves of their profane expectations. Who can be satured by the heavenly bread of self-denial? Anyone who is intended, to not see a deficit in "not knowing", but the biggest and holiest freedom, we could ever reach in this dimension of living?
This book is a good introduction for comparative metaphysical studies, but of couse, Maeterlinck had to compromise the opulence of the topics, so the impression of gaps in historical descriptions can be unsatisfying. But thousands of years of metaphysical questioning (from Ancient India and Egypt [wonderful how reciprocal their transcendental truth were formulated and transported over Chaldaia into the Bible and revitalized in Kabbala and Medieval alchemy...just to give a hint of connectness in ties and bonds...] over the Pre-Socratic philosophy, that had an understanding of the One and Absolute God [the Pre-Sorcratic philosophers were highly influenced by Egyptian belief, for instance the Orphism, metempsychosis of Pythagoreanism, ...] can not be compressed in 211 pages and mystic touched literature is a bridge building help for the searcher, the most work still has to proceed in the own mind :')

While reading "The Great Mystery" I though to myself, that I should dive more into the Ancient first wellsprings, for example reading the Rigveda or Sefer Yetzirah "The Book of Creation". But the reading list grows continuously and the books "I have to read" also. One examplar of interesting and fruitful sources Maeterlinck uses is the work of Wilhelm Nestle "The Pre-Socratic", but worthreading are many other books too:
Max Müller "Ursprung und Entwicklung der Religion" La Page Renouf "Lectures on the Origin and Growth of Religion as illustrated by the Religion of the Ancient Egypt" Bergaigne "La Religion védique d'áprès les hymnes du Rig-Veda" S. Karppe "Études sur les origines et la nature du Zohar" Knorr von Rosenroth "Kaballa Denudata" Blavatzky "Isis unveiled - A Master Key to the Mysteries of Ancient and Modern Science and Theology" Louis Menard "Hermès Trismégiste"
And it is always an advantage to read tracts and theories of saints, priests and philosophers.

she killed all the beauty she saw
by trying to understand it all
and we fade away so fast
and we lose ourselves so quick
still she won’t believe it
it gets time for leaving

I desperately try to put the pieces together, my mind screams out the perfect spot where every piece of broken glass should be  and even louder screams my heart... that how much ever i try ,we would never be the same without the adhesive of reversal of time, i curse and silence my heart as i try to put together again the beautiful vase which i broke the vase of what we had. and its killing me inside the certainty of failure at this task.

🌞Violets (Original title: 바이올렛) by Kyung-Sook Shin and Translated by Anton Hur 🌞
instagram
my current read at the moment and probably one of the other favourite books I have read this year so far.🌞
Definitely my all-time most loved Anton Hur translation. Beautifully done I just love every line of it.
Plot (from the publisher); "San is twenty-two and alone when she happens upon a job at a flower shop in Seoul’s bustling city center. Haunted by childhood rejection, she stumbles through life—painfully vulnerable, stifled, and unsure. She barely registers to others, especially by the ruthless standards of 1990s South Korea.
Over the course of one hazy, volatile summer, San meets a curious cast of characters: the nonspeaking shop owner, a brash coworker, kind farmers, and aggressive customers. Fueled by a quiet desperation to jump-start her life, she plunges headfirst into obsession with a passing magazine photographer.
In Violets, best-selling author Kyung-Sook Shin explores misogyny, erasure, and repressed desire, as San desperately searches for both autonomy and attachment in the unforgiving reality of contemporary Korean society."
You might know her by her other novel that won the Man Asian Literary Prize 2012 "Please Look After Mom'
🌞I'm already halfway through with it, and just to be a total nerd; I love the font they used for her novel so much, and the paper is such an exquisite quality that I just want to hold the book all day long.🌞
Giving me serious nostalgia on multiple levels. From the desire of writing, to do this near the window beside the city on top of a fridge. My heart really ached bittersweetly at that part. Because it reminded me of the time when I lived in Japan with my best friend @h_a_n_a_aa when we were 18.
out by @feministpress (US edition)
and @wnbooks @orionbooks (UK edition)
🌞Have a wonderful day with loads of books and follow me for more bookish posts.🌞

Japnit Singh, Deputy CEO of Spire Research and Consulting shares his favorite reading experience of 2018.
"Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow, by Yuval Noah Harari, is a brilliant insight to better understand humanity’s past and future. Intelligent, exciting and eminently readable; this is a very interesting perspective on the world that we will leave for our children and their children to live in.”

Writing a good book takes time, energy and perseverance. But when people start relating to the book, when people find it useful, entertaining, insightful, and a quick read; the work, the hours, the isolation seem worth it. The process of formatting, editing, cover design; you are entrenched in the process. But the work just doesn't end there. I have a new found respect for the people who work in the creative arts. It takes courage and perseverance. #goodbooktoread #goodbook #helpful #worthreading #perseverence #couples #useful #relaxing #insecurity #insightful #isolation amazon.com/dp/1733448616 tamethemind.org https://www.instagram.com/p/CGoJ7iLhKVI/?igshid=18fs8v2cyf4pt

If you’ve ever read any of my other reviews of Angel’s books, you’ll know that I’m a die-hard fan. I have yet to read something by her that I didn’t love. However, I’d held off on reading this particular series because I wasn’t sure how well both authors’ writing styles would mesh, especially since I’d never read any of Freddy MacKay’s solo work. But I was pleasantly surprised how well they blended together; the tone of voice was quite seamless and therefore didn’t detract from the story itself. I love this series as much as I love any of Angel’s solo works or other collabs, although this particular love is tinged with quite a bit of pain. The series is #worthreading because it's incredibly well-written, with such a beautifully crafted world, wonderfully detailed characters, and yet... #booksthatmakeyouuglycry 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 it is SUCH a HARD read at times. But despite that fact, I love the concept of the series – the shapeshifters and an arranged marriage trope, the inclusivity of all types of characters (non-binary, aromantic, etc.), the different cultures (they didn’t just assume that because Tally was from the US, he would be a white dude). But these books are ‘Danielle Steele-level rip your heart out, rocky relationships, deep losses, deep wounds, shatter you to pieces so you have to try to put yourself back together along with the main characters’ books. I know they’re just fictional characters, but I’ve cried so hard at times in both books, as well as smiled wide enough to break my face and laughed along when things were going well for Tally and Haru and the rest of their family. All signs of a great book, in my opinion, but Angel’s books are always like that for me. I can’t put them down. POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD… Fireworks and Stolen Kisses took me totally by surprise and beat me to an emotional pulp – it’s been a while since a book has hit me this hard. It did not go AT ALL like my sappy romantic heart had hoped. From almost the very beginning, it kept me in a constant state of emotional suspense. If I wasn’t worrying about Tally and Haru’s tenuous relationship or Haru’s obviously abused self and the horrible ways that manifes https://www.instagram.com/p/CFF_x0dhiOP/?igshid=1ounoaail4f99
