Anyways the fallout show is a million times funnier if you remember that ten years ago this part of the setting was like. Regular ass people. The NCR was supposed to be a fairly normal and recognizable country by today’s standard. They had offices and factories and election campaigns and taxes and shit.
Which just goes to show that the real message of fallout is that your average American is five years of lawlessness away from dressing in leathers and trying to chew our neighbors face off in the ruins of a Walmart parking lot

the problem with building out america's rail network btw is that it's privatized and there will never be a corporate incentive strong enough or backed enough to implement effective, accessible, AND privatized countrywide travel. nationalize railways deliver on the demands of railway workers and most importantly respect indigenous sovereignty/include indigenous design input when plotting routes

even ignoring the west coast/east coast divide between the different companies behind fallout, i think setting the show in the west coast is just really lazy and boring. there's the entire country of north america to explore that we have barely even touched on, and instead of setting it in any of the billions of other possible locations, its set in familiar territory. is that the best these people could come up with?

okay the thing with the coast poll is that my tags were mostly joking cuz I do expect it to be a contest of where you've lived and I respect that so I'm not actually mad HOWEVER I saw some of the comments and as a person who has lived on both, I am thereby qualified to ask, IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE IS THE EAST COAST MORE TEMPERATE. WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR DEFINITION OF TEMPERATE.

Also I just started adderall last week and my lips haven’t been this chapped since I was a dehydrated kid in summer camp and it’s making me crazy I’m probably gonna die from this give all my belongings to Daisy and give Daisy to my gayest acquaintance.

my hometown is so stupid and fake-sounding like yes it is in the part of california where it's sunny every day but inexplicably there is a hockey team that everyone is obsessed with so there are hockey bros with surfer dude accents everywhere. and seemingly everyone smokes a lot of weed

I complain a lot abt my grandmother and I am valid for it, I'm not taking it back, but. She has cooked multiple dishes from my childhood that had me almost in tears from nostalgia so. Idk. Maybe love is stored in the djagacida and the ceebu yapp or whatever 🥺

hm i have no energy to write anymore, but should i start a side blog for my card readings and ghost stories? im so estranged from life and my home, i cant get comfortable without being connected like i was before i moved, even reading cards is hard to do now.
#i just want to feel sound again but i cant seem to do that without old things around me and distance from modernization#i feel lost without my ghosts around i dont like new houses i feel so far from everything i understand#and being sick i feel even worse too#i dont even have a cemetery here i can walk to to recover#or recharge rather#lots of haunted places just not this time of year#they shut down before dark usually and i dont think they do the ghost walks#but in Lunenburg i felt great it wasnt necessarily haunted but it was all just so old and it felt right#but mike Flanagan posted the season 2 plan for mc and talked about soulmates#and thats a concept im very close to and im absolutely certain i have to find the place i was buried#it was by the sea looking west and it was prior to around 1850 but thays about all i know#that long ago that cemetery might not even be there#especially if its the canadian east coast our bodies may already be lost to the ocean#but i still have to find it somehow i believe i will some day but im missing a piece and that piece is the person i buries#or at least his coffin#i dont think he was in it. i feel like he was lost at sea and the only solice i have and the mist of any of these memories is that i died#quickly after i lost him#and yet its been 25 years and i dont know where he is in this life time and im terrified he isnt here#but that one blog post is all im holding onto to believe soemhow we'll still meet before we die#i just don't want to have such a small amount of time with him#i dont feel any of the things i do when im in a place bound to the earth#its confusing and it aches and i just want to have my instincts back#but anyway its not like i can talk about any of this without someone assuming i need medication#which i do but not for that🙃

CA is a special case because CA superceded the EPA and has their own environmental board and regulations. In fact, it's so pervasively scrupulous that all US auto manufacturers create cars to be compliant with CA regulations instead of Federal/NHTSA/EPA regulations in order to not miss out on one of the world's largest car markets.
And CA's environmental agency works... Really well, actually. You *can* walk through DTLA in the summer RIGHT NOW without choking on the real life "mexico filter" that you could possibly describe as something adjacent to "air." Take a look at pictures of LA from 30 years ago, 40 years ago, and 50 years ago. Go and take a picture right now!
So, as much as we loathe and hate them, they do their job pretty damn well. Better than many environmental agencies the world over.

Climate crisis is coming for all of us. We need to vote for people who are not insulated from reality via donor bribes.
We need a robust EPA. The current Supreme Court wants to end the EPA and Federal power to regulate our air and water. Never forget.
Get involved. Vote.

*frantically googling sunset times*
#KP 9 ?!?!?!! NINE??? G5?????? 2003 Halloween solar storm levels???? ''walk outside and look up past 10 pm'' ???? hello???#idk the chance that i see a damn thing esp naked eye but getting a phone notif of a 33% chance at 5:45 pm BROAD DAYLIGHT#like what#nadia rambles#okay ftr if it is visible and you do go out there be careful wrt reliance on satellite signals and GPS and radio etc#if it's strong enough there will be a lot of noise at minimum and worse case scenario it might completely knock out sat and gps#and cause major radio interference - at least temporarily#could also cause power outages which is more of a problem on the eastern coast of the US and Canada due to the structure of the grid#west coast has shorter east-west lines and more redundancies than east coast interconnection#east coast has longer east-west lines which makes it more vulnerable to geomagnetic interference and damage#plus the geology of the ground for buried lines also makes a difference. if you live in an area with less conductive soil materials#buried lines are more likely to overload from geomagnetic interference as all of the power will be funneled into the lines#if you have more conductive ground around the buried lines there's less funneling so less chance of major surges and outages#I am not sure about effect on electric cars but historically strong geomagnetic storms like this have affected the lights in times square#just as one example (tho it was prob grid related it could have also been direct induction surging the lights)#so it may be worth a little bit of caution as certain lights or parts of the electrical grid or possibly vehicles may have some troubles#you wanna know what tesla coils were invented for? wireless electrical power. they can power lights from a distance w/ no contact#geomagnetic storms also do this

Ahhh gotcha gotcha! Maxine definitely paid for her bottom surgery with her TV personality money then...
it's europe baby that shit's government covered! in this reality the nazis still lost, they just did a lot more damage beforehand i think... europe is still trying to recover but the war crimes of the early 20th century are massive scars still on the psyche of everyone in the world.
