I trimmed my pothos plant a few weeks ago. (it was getting truly ridiculous, I'd started draping the vines over a metalwork piece I have hung on the wall to keep them from dragging on the floor)

(and remember, the plant is already on top of a bookshelf taller than me! truly wild.)

anyway, I trimmed the pothos and now, a couple weeks later, I can see the little new green shoots emerging from all the places I trimmed. And despite this being a very normal, ordinary part of plant growth---I read articles about trimming pothos plants before I even got sort of close with a pair of scissors---I find myself genuinely awed.

I realize that I've already used up my "holy shit, plants" quota for the year, but---holy shit. Plants.
