Every time I see a take on this panel, I get dealt -5 psychic damage.

I really really really don't think Kabru is being a "manipulative psycho girlfriend" here. He's just like... A nice guy.

For context: in the panel, Laios finds a magic mirror and asks it what would happen if various party members were a different gender. Long story short, all of his party members leave him and he's distraught.

Here Kabru is just comforting him??? It's not like she plotted for all of them to leave so she could have him to herself. The characters as their swapped genders just had different priorities that ended up separating them.

It's not like it's out of character for Kabru to be kind and comforting. In fact, here's proof

Say what you want about him, but at the end of the day the reason he's so meticulous and careful about his words/choices is because he cares.

He cares so deeply about humanity. He wants to avoid tragedy. He hates people who prey on others for personal gain. He's not some evil, manipulative, freak who wants to rule the dungeon for power. He wants what's best for everyone (even if he's a little misguided).

He's genuinely a kind and thoughtful person and I'm sick of hearing ppl say he isn't. Get with it nerds.

Reading Worlds Behind (spoilers for it and CB to follow) is really making me realize how there are so many people who are simply too hopeless (Athelas) or resigned (YeoWoo) or dead inside (Harrow) to seek redemption. Sometimes, you really Cannot reach out and even try to change...and because of that, you need someone to come to you and reach their hand out to you.

But, "someone" is also human. They're also people with limitations and their own struggles. Some might be able to take on more but there will always still be a limit, and so what if you're the type to have pushed that limit and (as a result, like Athelas with Zero and Pet) push said person away?

And look. I am NOT theologically trained, but I'm gonna say it anyway (though please take it with discretion and Nuance). It's why we NEED Christ. He will not get tired of you no matter how far you've gone. He'll never stop reaching out to you, as long as you're alive (and even when we were dead in our sins, for that matter), even if you don't reach out to Him. It doesn't matter how filthy of a sinner - how repulsive you are or feel to other people - because He WILL keep reaching out in the ways He can. Because He is a person who doesn't have limits on what He can take AND is also a God who will not falter in His goodness and justice and mercy as He deals with sin. Yes, we have to be willing to change and to accept Him; but it's in the same way you accept a friend who is reaching out to you when you're totally unresponsive. You can wake up a little from that care and reject the acceptance....or embrace it and be healed. But, heh, what do I know....

he's covered in an ever present layer of grease and grime, stinking of sweat and rust. comes off as a cocky showboat when you first arrive on the rig, jokes about wanting to see you all messed up like the rest of 'em, but his jokes are barbed, electric blue eyes looking you up and down like he really can't stand how clean and neat you are compared to the men on board. like he wants to tear your ironed skirt down so he can drag his dirty paws all over your ass and thighs.

you honestly write him off; hard to see the laid back charmer as a genuine threat or even someone to go running to should something bad happen to you, but then everything on the rig goes to shit. something violent and hungry comes out of the water and you can hear the blood curdling screams from the men it catches as you sprint down the landing, the helicopter already starting to take off even as you yell for them to wait.

but then a man twice your size is suddenly pulling you into the shadows, covering your mouth and shushing you as the thing that came aboard the ship suddenly passes (and you think, wildly, that it would've been on you by now had soap not dragged you out of the way) and you watch in horror as it obliterates the chopper, the body of the chopper bursting into flames and going into a tailspin, crashing into the ocean below.

"keep the heid, bonnie," murmured into your ear, the hand around your mouth pressing harder and muffling your screams as he pulls you deeper into the rig, trying to find a place to hide, his arms like steel bands around you. "willnae let anything bad happen to ye."

are. are you telling me that if the romanced mage warden dies and alistair is king, he deadass stares greagoir down over her dead body and grants the circle of ferelden its autonomy after ordering it rebuilt somewhere safer. first you have to deliberately leave him behind so he won't die for you and then he does that for you once you're gone, even when you're broken up??? absolute and literal king behaviour of the highest order????? the actions speak louder than words of it all???????
