6 Essential Financial Services You Should Know About
The services provided by banks and other financial institutions are referred to as financial services. It also refers to the handling of funds by institutions such as stock exchanges, banks, investment banks, and insurance providers. Financial services assist people and businesses in managing their money-related issues. Financial services assist in distributing risks by serving as a conduit between investors and borrowers.
The following are six essential financial services:
1. Banking
The government's regulation of banking services is strict, and they are vital to the economy. Through this service, people and businesses can deposit money, and borrowers are eligible to get loans. Banks come in several varieties, including retail, commercial, community, and investment banks.
2. Insurance
Companies that provide insurance offer protection against monetary losses. There are several kinds of insurance plans available. Life, health, and auto insurance are examples of typical insurance policies. Usually, businesses need various insurance plans to shield them from monetary losses brought on by unforeseen events.
3. Mutual Funds
Institutions that manage mutual funds collect contributions from the general public and use them to purchase various securities. Mutual fund managers are professionals who charge yearly fees for their services. The investments made by mutual funds are also diversified, which lowers risk.
4. Stock Exchange
Under a predetermined set of rules, the stock market offers financial services for the buying and selling of stocks. It is a place where different stocks can be traded in a safe and regulated setting. A stock market's duties include:
Trading securities
Effective price discovery
Ensuring transaction security and validity
Maintaining liquidity
Safeguarding investors
The list goes on.
The stock exchanges get their revenue from the fees that they charge for their services, which are levied on each transaction.
5. Debt Instruments
Debt instruments are used to raise money. They concentrate on debt capital raised by public and private corporations, as well as institutional bodies such as governments. Treasury bills, mortgages, debentures, and bonds are a few examples of typical debt instruments. They offer stable and higher returns and can be either short- or long-term.
6. Audit
A financial audit is an additional financial service that verifies the accuracy and fairness of an organisation's financial records by looking at them and assessing their financial statements. Internal, external, and internal revenue service audits are the three most prevalent kinds of audits. Companies often have an annual audit of their financial statements. Fraud detection and prevention are aided by the audit. Stakeholder confidence is bolstered, and legal compliance is ensured by an audited financial statement.
Here are the six essential financial services: Besides, there are other financial services too. Advisory services assist people and businesses with a variety of tasks. Financial advisers assist their customers in reaching their financial objectives. Due diligence, valuation services, budgeting, savings, insurance, and tax planning are all areas in which they assist their clients.
A financial expert who offers advice on lowering taxes in accordance with laws and regulations is known as a tax consultant. Depending on the circumstances of the taxpayer, tax consultants will provide tax consulting services. A credit rating agency provides services that determine borrowers' creditworthiness by projecting how well they will be able to repay the loan.

good god girl, maybe some of us are not vegan because we eat chicken like once in three months?? Would reduction not be a more productive goal of vegan activism than outright banning? Like if your arguments are that animals are being eaten, then you’re being unrealistic about the entire actual concept of the food chain. Humans are omnivores, you do not need to change that to achieve your goals.
A vegan lifestyle is also entirely the product of your geographical location. If you live somewhere that shit does not grow, what are you going to do?? I just think about the difference between food options in India and Canada, for example. India: between the tropics (tropics and equator even, in fact). All-year-round sun, there’s pretty much always stuff growing. Different kinds of land will mean you can grow everything from staples like rice and wheat to vegetables, fruits and plantation crops. It’s reflected in the cuisines: Indian food has a much, much wider offering of vegetarian food, and many more Indians have restricted diets that more or less overlap with vegetarianism. Because crops grows. Locally.
Canada. Harvest in the fall, from November to March, your fields are practically unusable. Compare the prices of fresh produce in (and now I’m being generous to give you a highly populated, non-remote province here for an example) Ontario. Ontario has farms where in the fall you get fresh autumn vegetables and fruits. You’ll also get them in larger quantities. It is way cheaper, fresher and also uses less energy and fuel to transport the vegetables like 50 km from farm to market.
Come the winter and nothing grows. If you look at most vegetables you’ll find on store shelves in December or February, and most of it is either imported from warmer regions of the US (often the case for chains that are in both countries) or from South American countries (sometimes SA -> USA -> Canada). The importing has to go through cross-country customs, had to be driven for days, is less fresh or rich in nutrients by the time you get it, and is more expensive. Of course. And we all come out of it poorer. Is it any wonder why people will eat meat? We’re even talking here about a place like Ontario, very well connected on North American trade routes. Can you justify someone in Yukon deciding to eat meat over a $17/lb. green veg? Be for fucking real…
There simply cannot be a blanket-global solution to animal products. You’ve got to work with what your geography has to offer. It’s the same thing we say when we say that avocados have an environmental cost when you expect them to be available year-round in places they don’t grow. We encourage people to go for more local produce there, and I think the same should go for all parts of your diet too. If your animals are local, then their footprint is lower than importing kiwis from New Zealand to the US. I don’t see how that’s hard to understand.
#veganism#the first para is a rant bc someone was being an idiot but I mean the rest of it most sincerely:#YOU HAVE TO WORK WITH YOUR GEOGRAPHY#capitalism has you thinking the whole world Is this flat homogenous thing#and all things can be solved by ‘buying (new solution)!’ *Buy!* our new Vegan Leather and feel good about yourself!#(<- plastic that will end up in a dump as Indonesia’s problem; not the pontificating American vegan’s)#*~Buy!!~* our new honey substitute! 100% cruelty free by avoiding the bees; even as the bees literally continue to make honey anyway#(<- monocrop agave fields in Mexico can deal with your misplaced guilt for you 🥰💕)#Like. At least have the courage of your convictions and quit sweetener entirely if you’re#concerned about both cruelty (which honey harvesting is not but okay) and sustainability. Or switch back to sugarcane.#Unless of course sustainability is simply someone else’s problem 😊 (hi third world!!)#My problems with veganism the movement are also my problems with the west; you all are really fucking hypocrites.#We have to go cleaning up after you guys all the time. You HAVE to work WITH your geography; not against it#Plants are not some miraculous catch-all solution. And mate; you’ve got to kill a plant to eat it too#Plants are alive; trust me. If you don’t eat anything for fear of killing it you’ll either be living on roadkill and infect and die#or you’ll end up killing yourself out of not! eating!#; you can’t eat rocks. All food was once alive.

i did see a post semi recently where someone was complaining about therapy, and while there is absolutely a conversation to be had about how therapy is not a cure all, not all therapists are good at their jobs, and society pushes it on everyone as a substitute for fixing material problems with our society, their particular grievance was:
"can you imagine going to a car mechanic and they tell you 'yeah it's gonna be $100 a week and we MIGHT find the problem at some point'"
which is so wildly reductive. a human being is not a car. the brain is not a car. a car has specific discrete pieces that we understand to work a specific way, and when the car breaks, we can find out which piece is the problem. the brain is not built that way. we still don't know what the hell is happening up there.
And even if we did, the human body is not a car - you can't go to the fucking doctor just once when you're sick and then never again after they 'fix it'! Taking care of the human body is a constant, continuous job that requires REGULAR maintenance. You can't just slap a fix on it and then come back two years later for an oil change, that's not how any of this works. It's a bad fucking analogy!
Plus, a mechanic doesn't need to spend an hour a week learning the details of your car's background in order to understand why a piece is broken. A mechanic doesn't need to know that ten years ago a car got into a fender bender and so now part of its muffler is dented. it just need to know that the fender is dented and should be replaced right now.
For a human being, a therapist is not capable of reading your fucking user manual to know what pieces make you. They need time, too, to learn about your unique experience of life and how it might have translated into an unhealthy pattern. For a human it's often not enough to know that the pattern exists until you address the root cause of it, which a therapist can only learn if they spend regular time with you to unearth the roots of the problem.
Therapy is one piece of a holistic system of caring for yourself. It's not a piece that works for everyone, but it can be ONE piece of your continuous journey of mental health care, and treating it like it's a scam just because it takes time isn't helpful to anyone.
#you can't just give everything a pill and be done with it#sometimes work has to be done and sometimes you need a professional to help you with doing that work#i know capitalism has tricked us into thinking there is a fast solution to any problem#and anyone taking their time with something is scamming you for money#but that's not fucking true lol.#lulu talks

Playlist listened to while writing; https://spotify.link/WzxvdTKBCJb
Holy shit dude, the ceo of rei angst wrote some rei angst what the HELL!! We have to kill her guys she cant keep getting away with this.
Anyways im gonna be writing about a lot of these nerds. I just love rei. This is really rushed and I am really sleepy so it is not my best writing.
Also i cannot write teruya so you will habe to ppppUT UP WITH IT.
Warnings for like. Violence and my attempt at writing a breakdown.
-
Rei held the rusty pipe like a baseball bat, swinging for a homerun as she smacked off the head of someone she once knew. Someone who had abandoned her long ago.
The rotting head of what used to be her mother rolled on the ground, sickly green skin squishing against the ground and stared up at her with lifeless eyes.
“I didn’t want to see you again like this,” Rei hissed as her chest heaved, “i wanted to see you staring with regret as you saw your daughter on top of the world. I didn’t want to kill you or see you dead.”
That had been the second time she had run into her zombified mother. The first, she had been a coward, unable to kill her and her father– the two people she hated most, the two people who had abandoned her and left her on the streets.
Where had all her rage gone that time. When had she become soft.
-
Midori clung to Ryutaro with all the strength in her frail body. “My brother,” she whispered, “i saw my brother’s corpse down there. Kakeru… he… they got Kakeru… they killed Kakeu…”
He didn’t say much in return, but he did pat her hand briefly– the only comforting action he could manage while carrying her.
“I see a store up ahead. Let’s stop by there for supplies.” Keisuke pointed out to the leader of the bunch.
Setsuka patted the clown on the back and gave him a smile. “Sounds good, lead the way. Maki, do you need me to carry Yamaguchi for a bit?”
Midori wrapped her arms and legs around Ryutaro a bit tighter at the suggestion, very much attached to the guy who had found her and saved her from zombies.
“I’ll be fine until we reach the stop.” The blonde nodded his acknowledgement to the bluenette, forcing a smile as he struggled to catch up.
The group walked in silence for a bit, the only sounds being the orchestra of distant zombie groans.
“Miss Yamaguchi,” Hikaru said after bit, his tone fatherly like usual, “may I check your pulse soon? And may I check if the swelling on your ankles has gone down?”
“Yeah, that… sounds good. Thank you, Uncle.”
-
Kanata removed the bandages from Ayame’s arm gradually.
“There isn’t any sign of infection, Hatano. Kinjo and Maki are still out, so… uhm… can I get you something to eat?” The surgeon spoke softly as she stared at the sprinter.
“I’m not hungry…” Ayame mumbled.
“Inori!” Tomori slammed the door open, her eyes sunken from lack of sleep, “i think i got bit. Check! Check, please!!”
Kanata bit back a sigh of exasperation and forced out her cheerful smile. “Of course. Where do you think you were bit this time?”
“My ankle. They went after my ankle so I couldn’t run! They’re going to eat me. I’m going to die, aren’t I? Oh, god, I’m going to die!” The cheerleader’s words were jumbled together and practically nonsensical. She grabbed onto Kanata’s shoulders as she spoke, her nails digging into the other’s lab coat and pressing her skin uncomfortably.
“Miss Tomori,” Kanata winced, “please let go of me. I will check your ankle, but I am sure you are fine.”
“I’m not fine!” Kizuna wailed before glaring accusatory daggers at Ayame. “If you… if you hadn't gotten yourself bitten! If you had just seen that bitch for what she is! We wouldnt be doomed! You’ve doomed us all!”
Ayame took the words without fighting back. What had been the point in fighting anymore? Kizuna was right. She had doomed them all.
“Miss Tomori, please… Taira had us all fooled… if Miss Hatano is to blame, then so are the rest of us…” the blonde murmured. “Please sit down so I can check your ankle…”
-
Mindless. Kinji was mindless. His faith had only been able to spare him for so long.
His teeth were decayed now. His skin was green and purple and yellow. His eyes were dull. His cheeks were sunken.
It was incredible that his mind stayed intact long enough for him to bury as many as he did. The only bodies he didn’t put 6 feet under, the only bodies he couldn’t handle burying, were those of the people he knew.
But what was the point?
-
Yuki held his stomach as he choked up and spat out the last meal he had, beans that had barelt even begun to digest.
“Urgh… gross…” he mumbled to himself.
Shinji was away at the moment, scouting out for the next safe place for them to go and likely trying to find his family in the process.
The lucky student fought back envious tears. At least they knew there was a chance that Shinji’s family was alive– they found his mother, Aiko, brutally murdered in the Maeda household. Her corpse was bloated and rotted when they found it.
The sight still haunted his dreams. He couldn’t even keep.meals down since he saw it.
-
Mikako peered into her brother’s lab. He hadn’t eaten in quite some time, nor had he slept.
“Yamato…” she whispered hesitantly.
He spun around with a dart ready in his hand. He only lowered it after he registered it was her.
“Mikako, I’ve told you to leave me alone. I need to find a cure, or no one will be safe.” The inventor turned back to his work and threw a crumpled up piece of paper to the side.
“I’m sure someone else is searching for a cure, Yamato. Why not try to make a vaccine? Some sort of immunity would help while someone else finds a cure.” The exorcist suggested.
Her brother didn’t seem to have heard. That, or he was ignoring her.
“Ah… nevermind.” She straightened her back and spun on her heel to hunt down their other classmates.
For the newcomers, Satsuki was putting on a performance– juggling empty bottles and broken gadgets whilst telling jokes. That could not be safe, but Haruhiko seemed to have his eyes on her.
The bunker door heaved open, and Teruya’s team came in, carrying boxes full of food and other supplies.
“We’re back with dinner!” The merchant shouted.
Mikako rushed over to take the box from him.
“Thank you, Otori, this should be good for at least a week. You and your scavenger team did good.”
He grinned at her and handed his box over. “Thanks! We uh…” he hesitated, “We saw Taira and Maeda… err… Utsuro? On our flight back… they looked like they were heading somewhere… dunno where…”
She bit her tongue and nodded thankfully at him. “Thank you for telling me.”
-
Thats it. Im hungry good bye.
Aw yeah infection Au moment! I do remember you saying a while back that you wanted to write something about Rei in this Au and MAN her part has gotta be my favorite out of these little snippets.
I really like taking a look at how a bunch of the cast is doing, seeing the way you wrote them in those situations was pretty fun! It reminded me how much i like the idea of Setsuka's like group with the 6.5 cast and how Kanata probably wishes she has a degree in psychology to properly deal with Ayame and Kizuna (she may feel as if she's not doing enough for them seing as her kindness can only bring her so far when dealing with their turmoil)
#i really like thinking about the voids + hibiki in this au too#i never explained this before because i wanted to draw something for it but oh well#basically at one point the voids (as in Nikei Hajime and Emma since Iroha has been zombified and ran away by now) steal some suplies from#Syobai's apocalypse mob. so he sends Kanade and Hibiki to “take care of them” for him#because Kanade has deal with Syobai where she's essentially works as his executor whenever he needs it#and in exchange he lets her take things rom his stocks when she pleases (she mainly takes weapons. the crazier the better)#and you know. Hibiki i in her puppet stage so she goes along#so the twins go after the voids in their mad max-esc apocalypse car and after a while Kanade manages to corner them#and Hibiki takes this opportunity to stab her in the back :) literally#because turns out Hibiki snapped out of her puppet stage at some point a while back. and seeing Kanades terrifying true nature#she wanted to put an end to her madness but for the time being she kept pretending to be under her control. because she wa looking for the#right opportunity to deal a killing blow without because Kanade is a better fighter than her#this opportunity turned out to be the voids! she explains the whole story to them and offers to do something for them to make up#for the hell Kanade and her put them through (chasing them around for several days and getting into fights)#so Hajime asks for her to hand over all of her supplies. Emma asks for the car. and Nikei asks her if she has any information about#a possible cure for the virus (because he feels somewhat guilty for what happened to Iroha) and Hibiki tells her she knows of a scientist#that's working on one and recives chemicals suplies from Syobai (because he wants this capitalize on this cure whenever it gets done)#So by Nikei's orders Hibiki tricks Mikado into giving her a stash of Kokoro's solution and goes with the voids in a search for Iroha#so that they can give her the prototype cure (which works just as a virus suppressant so far) before she reaches a stage where her mind is#too far gone. so overtime Hibiki essentially becomes a void member and she has friends again for the first time since forever#i like infection au Hibiki a lot. i had a sketch of her and Kanade somewhere i think#super danganronpa another 2#danganronpa another#dra#sdra2#zombie au#infection au#hyena ramblings

Current situation where I live in a “great” school district in the US of A in 2023:
School cannot hire bus drivers. No one will take the job. (Honestly GOOD FOR HER!) (Pay a living wage!)
Whenever a bus driver calls out sick, a busload of kids isn’t getting to/from school on time. I know someone whose kid’s school ended at 2:30 and they got home at 5, hours late. This kid is like 7.
School district hired a consulting firm to come up with ideas about out how to solve this problem. (Pay a living wage.)
Now they’re all “Here are our options. We can make half the schools start early so that the buses can make two trips.” (This option would put the bus arrival time before 6am for some kids.) “We could require all teaching assistants to obtain a commercial driving license before we will hire them.” (?!?!?!?) “We could allow people as young as 18 to drive the school bus.” “We could stop driving some kids (magnet schools and expanded walk zones) to school.”
Pay bus drivers a living wage.
PAY 📢 THEM 📢 A 📢 LIVING 📢 WAGE
Ask a fucking toddler on the street and they will say PAY THEM MORE. Raise the taxes, pay them more.
I just—
#this is everything in the us right now#vet hospitals shut down despite having tons of business because no one will accept their pitiful wages#like this isn’t even anticapitalist#this is just pure capitalism#you need to pay them more#that is how capitalism is meant to work#even that has tons of problems! but putting that aside for a moment!!#pay them more!!!!#I fucking cannot#these ppl sitting around talking about this like there is no solution#absolute buffoonery#I would poke my eyeballs out if I had to sit through one of these meetings#if we can’t figure this out how is there hope for anything actually complicated

There’s been a push to make workplaces more accepting of neurodivergence or mental illness recently and that’s great, honestly, but there’s one thing about it that has me frustrated.
I really dislike all the emphasis on the person who is neurodivergent or mentally ill to do so much of the work.
Like in some ways it makes sense: the people who need the changes should be the ones in charge. But sometimes it feels like the good idea that “the people who are margalized should have the largest voice in the room” gets used as “and if those marginalized are having a rough time, well they should have just disclosed their situation.”
It feels like the blame goes from “society is ableist/unaccepting of diffeeence” to “if you had just SAID SO well it would be fine!” Without considering the many very good reasons people might not want to speak up. Stigma has gotten better but it’s not gone.
You can add all the stress balls and wellness seminars into your workspace as you want, but for me personally, that doesn’t mean jack shit if the only way I MAYBE can get slight flex in my lunch hours for doctors appointments is to disclose my mental illness to not only my Supervisor, but my Boss and HR. You can add in discounts to Yoga class, but if the only talk of mental stuff in a workplace is about hypothetical “other” people, can I really be blamed for not exactly wanting to play those cards?
Is it really my fault that I don’t want to label myself when that label might become the first thing people associate me with?
I’m not saying people shouldn’t do those things like get accommodations: they absolutely should and I hope no one has to fight for them. I can get defeatist at times and I want to be very clear that getting what you need is worth it and if anyone gives you shit, they’re dicks. I just wish that that more concrete policies to help people who are neurodivergent or mentally ill didn’t require folks to share what they might not be ready to talk about.
And that if that isn’t possible, to not act like the only barrier to acceptance in the workplace is created by those who need it the most.
#iz rambles#I think this is where a lot of my ire of wellness comes from: I absolutely do not hate the concept#please do not take this as me talking trash about yoga yoga is great with a rich history#my ire is pretending these wellness ideas are solutions to ableism#rather than actual systematic change in policy and capitalism#ableism#mental illness#neurodivergence#this is mostly about places I have worked in the past

I know this one guy who enjoys doing this singular menial labor task when they can set their own hours, only work to their personal standard, focus only on the aspects of the work they personally find fulfilling, only do the work either by themselves or exclusively with their close personal friends, only share the benefits of that work with either themselves or the people they personally care about, and quit whenever they stop enjoying it. This means that if we get rid of capitalism everyone would just sorta be cool about it and work the lithium mines.
#just summarized this hour and a half anti-work video essay i almost got sucked into for you you're welcome#also feel the need to clarify this isn't about the election this is just me being parasocial and sub-tweeting a 5k andy youtuber#their big end point was well i do work to care for people i love what if we got rid of work and just did things for people we love#and extended the definition of 'people we love' to the entire-wire-world#and its like lady i hate to break it to you#but anyone who would say that has never had to participate in or witness the soul-crushing work of having to care for a loved one#if you think the guilt of being kinda shit at your make-work corporate daycare job is bad#wait until you have to choose between a mental breakdown and your dementia-riddled mother eating tonight#and also#at a certain point a civilization needs a means of compelling people to do work they don't want to do#historically that means was widespread and brutal violence#the miracle of capitalism is that now we use money instead#put another way#you can find guys out there who genuinely like working waste management#there's not enough of them to deal with everybody's shit#idk i understand the complaints of the anti work crowd its just that their solutions are so fucking stupid

Consumerism is the path to planetary ruin, but there are other ways to live
Faced with the now undeniable impacts of climate crisis created by humans, political leaders in wealthier countries incline towards one of two competing responses. They either question the urgency and feasibility of meeting net zero targets and generally procrastinate (the rightwing tendency); or they proclaim their faith in the powers of magical green technologies to protect the planet while prolonging and extending our present affluent ways of living (a position more favoured on the left and centre). Common to both approaches is a wrongheaded presumption that we can carry on growing while managing to hold off the floods and fires of growth-driven capitalism. ... Sustainable production and consumption must therefore replace undifferentiated economic growth as the goal of 21st-century political economy. And making the case for this means challenging the belief that sustainable consumption will always involve sacrifice, rather than improve wellbeing. Our so-called “good life” is, after all, a major cause of stress and ill health. It is noisy, polluting and wasteful. Its commercial priorities have forced people to gear everything to jobseeking and career development, but still leave many people facing chronically unfulfilling and precarious jobs and lives. ... By offering a broader cultural dimension to the existing arguments of those who dissent from today’s economic orthodoxy and want to promote a less unequal world, a compelling vision of alternative ways of living can help to inspire a more diverse, confident and substantial opposition. And in expanding on that vision we now need to look beyond western ideas of progress to include other influences and sources of inspiration.

Spotify discourse below the cut because I genuinely don’t have a settled opinion and am just organizing thoughts
I feel like a lot of “just use bandcamp” takes on Spotify are kind of only seeing half the value in Spotify as a service. Like the main concern I see is the tiny payout to most artists. Royalty payments to artists are generally terrible all around and record labels are the embodiment of plague infected leeches, just to be abundantly clear. But idk if streaming should be the vehicle for paying artists in the first place. The Algortihm™️ is honestly why I (and most people I know) use Spotify. I love finding new music and building playlists and then if I really like a band/artist I end up getting vinyl and concert tickets and merch etc etc. but in my mind “listening to music” and “financially supporting the artist” are two different activities? And you can think that the “Spotify method” of listening to music is crass and antithetical to art or whatever but like it is a huge reason why a lot of people enjoy it. Telling them (consumers) to just jump over to a not-very-comparable service is maybe not the most compelling option?
Bandcamp is great once I’ve actually discovered artists but it does require a certain level of being A Fan. It feels like telling people to just stop using YouTube and switch to Patreon like….okay these aren’t the same though.
In my mind the “best” option atm (aside from a magical service that combines the algorithmic knowledge of my innermost soul of Spotify with the ability to click buttons and send money directly to artists of Bandcamp) is to just be intentional about supporting artists in ways outside of streaming. And like maybe kick a record exec very hard in the balls if you ever find yourself in a situation to do so.
#mine#text post#void screams#spotify#idk I just feel like cancelling Spotify isn’t going to make too much of a difference in the landscape of IP and licensing law#which are things tailor made to fuck over the actual creators of works so that owners of companies can profit#it is the Most Capitalism approach to creative works#like I can see tenuous threads of solutions but they all come back to less record labels#and reevaluating the idea of owning works which will ultimately hurt people like TS (famed Spotify hater)#people’s takes have just been very confusing to me but maybe I’m a lil dumb or missing something#cannot overstate how much of an option that is
