Jayce is pulled in a thousand different directions in season 1 and confused and stressed out and given a second job as a councilor basically out of nowhere but the very second that it's revealed that Viktor is dying (which he didn't know until then because Viktor didn't tell him!!) he pivots to hard-focus on that, he is there he is ready he is on mission

That man is next level devoted he does not care what rules have to be broken he does not care if it's against the ethos he does not care what kind of drugs they need to acquire

He did understand he does understand he did not hesitate he yeets the fucking hexcore right into that boy Frankenstein style who cares if he promised Viktor to destroy it my boyfriend got blown to bits I think that changes things he'll understand

It just so happened that the Viktor who came out of the other side of that wasn't the same

can we get a katelyn mackenzie who isn't just there as a plot device or an addition to aaron's character. can we get a katelyn mackenzie who isn't just there for good advice and comfort, can we get a katelyn who doesn't just calm people down and always have a plan and she gets angry when she's lied to or ignored and she argues back and she doesn't always know what to do or how to help and she loves aaron but she also knows what she's worth and she won't settle for less than that. i know she's not much in canon but we have the power of fanfiction we can make her so much more. let her speak. let her be a character. let her play a role that isn't just the girlfriend of the side character or the pissy ex or the fridged love interest. let her not forgive and not be perfect and let her fight back and let her be angry and let her not always fix aaron's problems for him What i'm saying is katelyn mackenzie deserves better

Gun thinks you must be a saint to put up with him.

Or maybe you're just as hellish as he is. There must be something a bit off with you to be with him, to see him for who he is and still stay. Shiro Oni and all.

Either way, he knows that he doesn't come across someone like you easily. Who can also hold his attention and make him feel his humanity for the first time in perhaps, ever.

(No, Gun makes up his mind. He is sure that there will never be another like you.)

He doesn't apologise, has never apologised. And it's not a habit he's about to pick up now. Yet the fact that you have been ignoring him for close to a month hurts him. Hurts him in a way no bruise or broken bone or physical wound ever has.

The type of ache that starts in his chest, reaching down to the pit of his stomach, and up to the darkest recesses of his mind.

Gun thinks about life without you, and rationally he knows he will be fine. He has survived most of his life on his own and will be able to survive the rest of his life on his own too. But now that he has you by his side, he doesn't want to think about the empty space you would leave behind.

Like getting the first taste of excitement, the adrenaline and high of a fight, and then never being able to find it again no matter how hard he searched.

The void remains, and cruelly, he would know exactly what was missing.

It started with a flippant comment.

You told him to be more careful as you patched up a cut and Gun didn’t respond, not at first. Because for him, dying in a fight, by someone else's hand, would be the ultimate thrill. Would mean that he has finally found, after long last, someone that has surpassed him. Found what he had been looking for all his life.

It escalated from there.

Being with someone like Gun Park means taking the good with the bad. The dangers and the risks.

You didn't know that when you first met, but you knew that by the first date. You knew that when you accepted to be his partner, when you told him you love him and when you moved in together.

In hindsight, he knows that it's the bare minimum he can offer. Even if he doesn't keep to his word, he can at least offer you that peace of mind. However, he always keeps to his word. Slippery lies and deception is not his style. A method his blonde partner prefers, whereas Gun has been more or less forthright.

He is again, tonight. It comes out more sentimental than he would have liked, but it is nothing if not the truth.

It's a simple text.

"For you, I'll try to be more careful."

He hopes that you'll be able to read between the lines and see what the 'for you' really means.

For you, he will walk to the ends of the earth and more. He doesn’t want you to test his limits because he is not sure there even is a limit.

Three dots appear and Gun observes it with more focus than he ever has with anything in his life.

The seconds stretches.

You respond and he smiles, doesn't think about how soft it is, the hold you have over him.

And the relief floods his body.

I'll be pulling from my Oblivion Dark Brotherhood fic Dear Brother. But my favorite snippet comes from chapters and years ahead of where the story currently sits. It's a spoilery af scene which may or may not occur exactly as written, because it was only meant to be practice for how it might look, then I got carried away and now I love it. Here, Lucien and Zathiril have to deal with the fact that their actions have consequences. (Zathiril's dialogue is formatted the way that it is due to using an enchanted amulet as a speaking aid - it projects his thoughts into the surrounding space as an imitation of his voice.)

[Mercy??] Finally, I whirled on him, eyes flashing with rage. Soft-bellied coward that he was, he jerked his face away to hide beneath hood’s shadow. He asked me to face him, yet he quailed at my justified anger? Pathetic! My heart and I agreed, for it leapt into my throat, though it could not scream alongside me from behind a dam of scars. Only its rattling breath hissed out beneath enchanted, metallic cry. [Mercy woulda stayed yer hand long enough to listen to me! Lyin’ bastard, root-gnawin’, bark-borin’ beetle of a man - ye did it to save yerself an’ yerself alone!] “I had no choice!” he shot back. “None of us knew what Mathieu had done to you, and he’d conspired for the Hand to turn on me, too–” [Oh! Did they now! Served ye right, then - fat lot o’ good it did ye to throw me to the senche after all, eh?] At some point I'd stood from my chair, hands balled into shaking fists, but I didn't recall exactly when. Others in the Sanctuary were likely to overhear this fight over long-dead matters between two long-dead men, and I didn’t care a lick. My piece was to be said. My fangs were to seek blood from the bloodless. [How did it feel, then? To scream for yer Family’s ear as they fell upon ye anyway?] Lucien struggled weakly in my jaws. “I … cannot speak on this–” [Did ye protest long when they accused ye, or did they stifle yer cries? Did they call ye a filthy liar, or a traitorous snake?] “I – they–... ” My teeth sank deeper still. [Go’an, I’m dyin’ to hear! Tell me, did ye weep like a pup as I did? Did ye look into the face of yer brother and beg as I did?] “Zathiril …” I thrashed and ripped and tore, and he let me. [How did it feel when ye realized ye were all alone?] A killing blow. Lucien hung his head, wordless. A tear visibly hung from where it trailed down to his chin. It should have sated me to push a selfish worm like him to this brink, but no relief came with my fire’s dousing. There was only the empty twist of my guts as the words echoed and skipped across stone.

This might be a very unpopular opinion but can we please allow drivers to be messy again? I like the friendships just as much as anyone but come on, you are lying if you say you weren't entertained by brocedes antics or Multi 21. Like I'm a big Ferrari fan and I love and support both Charles and Carlos but I eat it up every time they get spicy with each other on track. Did Monza stress me the fuck out? Absolutely but god I FUCKING LOVE that they went for it!!

They are racing drivers! Let them race and throw tantrums! Let them be bitchy on team radio! Let them demand a team order and let them also ignore a team order! Let them throw shade in interviews! Half the appeal of Carcar is the bitchiness of it all, its compelling and fun to follow!

Its just...sometimes this whole "we are one big happy racing family" feels so fake and PR, I think the sport would benefit even more from drivers being strong characters again. Fernando Alonso is probably the shadiest, most messy person alive and he still has adoring fans so it clearly works.

Ofc, for this to work the fans would need to have the emotional maturity to understand that this is how sports rivalries works and that to a certain level everyone is constantly competing with everyone and maybe thats where it all falls apart...

Absolutely adore ur watcher rt! Been wondering how he would interact with people whove been on evo (if it happened). Or how people like grian would think abt how he acts. On one hand can you blame a guy whos never been mortal? On the other hand would they even know and if they know would they be able to accept it?

I just find it so fun to imagine how rt would react to their reactions and how he interacts with other watchers and related people!

Oh so this is a kind of interesting topic that is kind of actually relevant to the story I've got planned for him.

To keep things as spoiler free as possible, I'll simply say that uhhhh Grian and other relevant (ie. Empires or Hermitcraft linked) Evo members certainly would not like him by the end of the main story arc I have planned out. and that while RT is one of the few watchers who actually doesn't have any real problem with Grian as like. A defector. He certainly may have some more personal issues with him by the end of the same story arc.

I kind of like the idea of him and Grian begrudgingly ending up on the same team at some point though later down the line once RT has had some more character development (think the thing I was talking about in the last post about him butting heads with the higher ups) and realizing they're more similar than they may have thought even if they have different conceptualizations of the world.
