hi!! im the artist whos hobonichi pages u just reblogged. just wanted to say i loved reading your tags and highly encourage u to try hobonichi if youre thinking about it! i had the same reservations about not being able to keep up w a daily planner, but even if u miss a day i find it fun to just go back and add doodles, or even leave a few of them blank. its been super rewarding to try to keep up w it over the last few years ^^

sorry i can't stop thinking about this. i had a meeting at my old job a couple weeks back where the senior animator was explaining his animation process to my friend/the new hire (and i was there to contribute ig) but he explained that he? doesn't use arcs? because after effects interpolation is picky and will bug out. but the fix is just to put in hold frames. his reply was like "sure you can do that. or you can just not put in arcs :)" ok well now i know why his animations all look like shit too bad it's a conscious decision on his part

something that that character analysis on monika i watched rlly made sink in for me was the implications of her backstory and home life from her personality. she's a perfectionist, someone who always tries to present herself as put together and capable, from her handwriting to her role as club president, to the embarrassment she feels when sayori first finds her sleeping in the clubroom, and how all that characterisation is typical of someone who's always been set to a high standard and punished when they don't live up to that standard.

anyway gifted kid monika whose parents were well meaning but also put a sort of pressure on her because they wanted her to do well in life, only for it to backfire by making her terrified of failure. she's always apologising before she's even done something wrong, making light of herself, anything to prevent the sting of rejection.

to find out that everything she's ever known or been anxious about, lost sleep over even, is just a fabrication of some beings beyond her understanding for what? fun? experimentation?

well, that fucking breaks her.

just be really REALLY nice, and act oblivious to any and all attempts to start something... they will eventually feel REAALLLLY guilty and either play off being mean as a joke, or doxx you, it worked for me so I haven't gotten doxxed!

Ah!!! Apparently chapter 2 of the exhibition shorts includes everything from the Lantern Extra!!! Hualian eating together like family and bekng lovely dovely!! It also includes the flashback!! Which means that unless they change the characters or something we get animated He Xuan Family!!!

i think it’s funny that the prayer i used to say every night before bed (that’s im pretty sure is a very common catholic prayer) was praying for my soul and the souls of my loved ones in case i died in my sleep. that’s silly
