⋅˚₊‧ Florence spent the entire weekend catching up on Landgraab’s Anatomy (LMFAO) in an attempt to drown out the emotions she’s been feeling lately.… this house would’ve been her childhood home..
It’s bittersweet living there, but the memories her parents left behind only leave her with more questions about who they were, and who she could be…

Chapter 1

__________________________________________________________
                                             1930’s ?
Gina sat up and gripped her head trying to brace herself. Her brain felt like it was being pounded  like a sailor on shore leave. She took several breaths before she willed her eyes to open. She could hardly remember anything.
Gina Gray looked around the elegant art deco filled room. Rich woodtones and grains filled the room from a wardrobe, a vanity, a bed that she was sitting on, a large ottoman at the end of said bed created warmth in a very white and peach tones room.
She gingerly slid her legs off the side of the mattress and was met with her reflection.
She didn’t remember herself looking like this, Her hair was a honey blonde, it was cut short and in finger waves.  She strode across the room. She was in a yellow and black knitted dress that fit her body like a second skin. She turned to admire herself. She looked great, just something was off though.  She twisted and turned in the mirror noticing her hair stuck up a bit in the back. Long long red nails smoothed it down, bumping against a sore spot.
Gina gingerly ran her fingers over her scalp feeling rows of tiny stitches. She pulled her hand back and exhaled loudly.
Something had happened to her head, an injury at some point. She wondered if that’s why things seemed unfamiliar to her. She couldn’t recall anything from childhood or hell, even today.
She crept out of the room and glanced down the hall. Wherever she was, the mansion was massive, with more wood and green toned walls. Everything was polished to perfection and gleamed under the glow of several chandeliers.
She saw a few people dressed like maids darting in and out of rooms paying her little to no attention. Where was she?
Gina stood frozen unsure of what to do clutching the stop of the banister. The foyer was huge and littered with little velvet plush seating areas. A few doors remained closed, shutting her off from the various rooms she was unfamiliar with.
“Oh, good morning Mrs. Shelby.” An older woman with soft red hair in a style that matched Gina’s, smiled warmly up at her. She stood at the bottom of the stairs, her soft wrinkled face waiting for a response.
“Oh no,” she looks around. “You must have confused me with someone else. My name is Gina Nelson. Where am I?” Gina walked down slowly trying to keep her footing in the snug black leather shoes. Why had she laid in her bed with her shoes on?
“Oh, Mrs. Shelby, we have gone over this everyday for the last month. Your home dear, the children should be back from school soon. They get out before lunch today.” The older women had a soft and kind voice. She seemed concerned by Gina’s confusion. She was concerned by it too if she was being honest.
“The…the children? I’m sorry….” Gina inhaled deeply and closed her eyesShe was stuttering. She hadn’t done that since she was a child overwhelmed by her parents' verbal abuse and mind games. Oh! A memory! That was good right?!
“ Whos’ children. I don't have children.” Gina’s hand settled over her firm stomach. What was happening today?
“Mrs Shelby! Don't say that out loud in front of them today, hurt little Charlie’s feelings you did.” The maid replied, astonished and indignant. She smoothed down her modest black garment.
Gina ran down the stairs practically flying, her hair bouncing. The ache in the back of her skull itching.
“Who the fuck is Charlie! Where am I?” She yelled as she stood one stair above the maid. Her tag read Francis.
Just then a large imposing oak door flung open and a well built man strode out of the room. He was taller than me, broad shouldered, chiseled cheekbones and piercing cerulean blue eyes. His hair was mostly cropped to shaved close to his skull but the top was thick, lush and black. Quiet a contrast to his eyes.
His button down white dress shirt was neatly pressed not hiding his muscular body. Gina’s gaze went immediately to the black gun and holster strapped across his back and chest.  He was well dressed and polished but he wore several rings which seemed out of place to her. He wasn’t a good man, her brain screamed.
Why was a gun necessary? Has she been kidnapped? It would make some sense as to the state of her appearance and his need to be carrying a weapon in the house.
“Gina!’ The man turned to her. His piercing blue eyes held her in a trance. They knew each other. His hands were raised up showing he meant her no harm, his head turned to the right addressing the maid as he walked to Gina. He was one step from her.
“It's alright Francis. I have it from here.” The maid nodded and gave a quick worried glance at Gina’s direction once more.
She scoffed and rolled her eyes. Like she needed judgment right now.
“Who are you?” She snapped at the handsome man in front of her.  He turned and looked her up and down clearly exasperated with her.
“I am the man who gave you that ring on your polished finger Gina, and those children.” He pointed to the wall. Gina shook her head no, her stomach flip flopped. She looked at the portraits. Two boys and a girl. All beautiful children. All three could pass as hers and the mystery man. A perfect blend. The eldest looked like his father but with lighter brown hair, the middle boy had Gina’s champagne blonde hair and the girl also was a blonde. All three held the same features, the perfect blend of their mother and father.
“Those are our children, Gina. Charlie is 7, Lawrence is 5 and little princess Penelope is 3. She's with aunt Pol today.” Gina looked back and forth. She was going to be sick. How come she couldn’t remember her own children?
“Are you feeling better? You really shouldn’t drink so much, baby with your head injured like that. Come ere.” He grabbed her hand and tried pulling her toward him. She stiffened up straight and grabbed the banister digging her red nails into the railing refusing to go into his strong arms. Part of her wanted too but she couldn’t sill her body to react the way her mind was telling her to.
“Love, you have a memory issue since you banged your head alright, everyday it’s the same thing. I'm your husband Tommy, remember?” He pleaded with her, his tone soft but firm. She couldn’t place his accent. She sounded…..different from him. He had a brogue to his deep gruff voice. Her voice was plain and soft. No accent compared to his.
“ Maybe one day soon, if the doctor is right, you’ll start remembering things and we won't have to do this little song and dance eh? “ He tried stepping up and grabbed her by the waist so she didn’t tumble back and fall. He looked pained at her reaction to recoil from him.
Nothing felt right about this.
The phone from behind the large door rang out shrill and high begging for his attention. He nodded and turned, large strides into the room and slammed the door behind him.
“Okay, not allowed in there apparently.”  She grumbled mostly to herself. Her arms were crossed and she could feel her bottom lip jut out. A pair of heels clicked toward her. She glanced up from her hair and saw a younger looking maid approach her.
“Hello Mrs. Shelby. Will you please select what you’d like for dinner today? I’ll send it to the chef immediately.” Gina saw the name Mary scrawled finely across her name tag. Did they tag her? Probably. She wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth, at least she knew how to address her.
Once the dinner and several dishes had been chosen Gina freely wandered around the large building getting familiar with the space.
She eventually found a large room with several couches, a gramophone and several toys scattered throughout.
A handmade wooden doll house sat on its own marble and wooden table. Gina bent down and admired the little white Victorian dollhouse. She flicked a small switch on and the elaborate doll house was filled with small lighted chandeliers. Porcelain dolls filled the tiny rooms. She smiled. She would have loved this as a child. Must be Penelope's dollhouse.
In the corner an elaborately painted oilcloth was painted like a battlefield with moss.
horse and little soldiers scattered throughout, apparently winning on both sides.
She walked to the couch, a women’s magazine lay by the pillows. Gina sat down and instantly felt a sharp pain in her back. She reached behind the pillow and yanked out a toy wooden dog with a red pull string. Lawrences perhaps? She tossed it onto the floor, uncaring that it thumped loudly. She needed a break from her pounding heart and anxiety at the moment.
She got lost enjoying the various articles and short stories in the large magazines until Francis’s large booming voice announced the  arrival of the kids. Gina didn’t even have time to rise before they came clamoring in disrupting the peace.
“Mommy!” They shouted in unison and rushed to hug her. Little hands reached tightly around her hands, waist and leg tightly hugging her. She patted their heads wishing she felt something other than confusion towards them. They seemed to adore her. She smiled down at them as they all started bouncing around her and begging her to play.
She lost track of time playing with all three busy children trying to keep them from one upping each other.
Soldiers were invading the mansion, little dolls were tossing furniture to keep the invaders at bay but the giant dog on wheels kept ramming the house sending it into chaos and disorder like a doggy Kong.
“Dinner.” The door to the living room flung open announcing Gina’s escape from the chaotic playgroup.
“Oh Thank God!” She stood and smoothed down her skirt grateful for the break. Her head was pounding.
“Oh Mrs. I wish you weren't so sick with this silly disease. You used to be very hands on with the children. It’s lovely to see.” Mary’s sweet full face beamed with joy. Gina wished she could echo the sentiment. It was fun at first  but quickly grew loud and rambunctious.
“What do I have?” Gina asked her as the children rushed out of the room practically bowling the help over. Gina smiled sweetly as she crossed to the room to drop the toys where they belonged.
“Wha?” Mary’s sweet face quickly contorted with confusion. She looked around behind her. Probably looking for Mr. Shelby to help her out no doubt.
“The disease or memory loss, what is it called?” She was well aware she had the other woman pinned down now. She wanted an answer, Mary seemed like she’d crumble easily.
“Best ask the master, Mr. Shelby.” Her face was flushed and her eyes were wide. Gina was watching her like a hawk. The other woman was stumbling and gasping for air. Gina smiled sweetly baring her teeth.
“Well I'm not calling him that. Master is a bit much don't you think?” She waited until the other women calmed down and nodded. Lawrence stumbled into the room and Mary practically ran off.
‘Da likes it when you call him daddy.” Lawrence smiled as the imposing man filled the doorway chuckling at his son’s observation.
“I bet he does.” Gina said as she walked past her husband. His strong hand went to her lower back guiding her to the expansive dining room. The children all sat down eagerly waiting trying to grab at dishes and claim a larger spoonful than the next.
“Gina?” Tommy pulled out a chair for her next to the head of the massive table . She looked up and shook her head. A portrait the size of the wall sat behind her husband, and she’d been right. He sat underneath it in all his glory blinking at her wondering what was so funny. It was a painting of him looking dapper holding the reins to a stunning white horse.
“Your vanity knows no bounds does it? “ She asked haughtily. He grinned at her before taking a deep sip of whiskey. She had a feeling she’d find out how true that was later tonight. From the way he kept looking at her, they were obviously still sharing a bed.

This 1970 Pontiac GTO convertible was first delivered to the A.C. Morris Garage of Summersville, West Virginia, and during prior ownership it underwent a body-off rotisserie refurbishment that was completed in 2006. The car is claimed to be one of just 241 examples that were ordered with 455ci V8 and an optional automatic transmission for the model year, and it is finished in Burgundy over red vinyl upholstery. Other equipment includes a four-barrel carburetor, a Ram Air hood, a power-operated convertible top, power steering, front disc brakes, and a 12-bolt rear end housing a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2013 out of Arizona, this GTO convertible is offered in Missouri with refurbishment photos, manufacturer’s literature, build sheets, a reproduction window sticker, documentation from Pontiac Historical Services, correspondence with the GM Heritage center, and a clean Missouri title.
Tumblr media
The car was finished from the factory in Burgundy, and the body was stripped, mounted to a rotisserie jig, and repainted during the refurbishment, at which time a replacement convertible top was installed. Features include a color-matched Endura front bumper, a chrome rear bumper, a Ram Air hood, and quad exhaust outlets with polished finishers.
Tumblr media
Rally II 14″ wheels are mounted with 215/70 Firestone Wide-Oval tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the car was optioned with power steering when new.
Tumblr media
The cabin has been retrimmed with red vinyl upholstery (2254) as well as color-coordinated carpets and interior trim. Equipment includes front bucket seats and a rear bench, a woodgrain steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and an 8-track player. A pre-delivery-style instruction tag is attached to the steering column, and Pontiac-branded rubber floor mats line the front and rear footwells.
Tumblr media
The turned metal and woodtone trim-accented cluster houses Rally instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows under 96k miles, approximately 50 of which have been driven by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
Tumblr media
The optional 455ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and a Ram Air hood, and it produced a factory-rated 360 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine stamping shown within the gallery ends in 0P121234, which matches the final eight digits of the car’s serial number. Additional identification numbers are presented in the gallery.
Tumblr media
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an optional Turbo Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end housing a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. Additional photos are provided in the gallery to illustrate the underside, drivetrain, and suspension components.
Tumblr media
Photos showing various stages of the refurbishment are depicted above.
Tumblr media
Additional items accompanying the car include manufacturer’s literature, build sheets, a reproduction window sticker, documentation from Pontiac Historical Services, and 2012 correspondence with the GM Heritage center confirming the car’s specifications and equipment, photos of which are provided in the gallery.

Small two-bedrooms/bathrooms house. Downtown. Close to the hospital, by the woods near Liie Marketing (11).
A floor to ceiling window allows the view to be enjoyed from the low position of the Zabuton cushions around a traditional Kotatsu table.
Shōji screens decoratively divide the living room from the hallway of the home.
Glass doors merge the main bedroom with the open plan living room–though privacy curtains can be drawn when desired. Storage drawers utilise the base block of the platform bed design, which is a custom built piece that merges with more storage units at its foot.
The second minimalist bedroom is as devoid of decoration as the first, but again, woodtone brings beauty. A projector is aimed at the blank white wall, for movies in bed.
For both bathroom, grey tiles back a walk in shower enclosure, and flood out across the floor. A white stone vanity shelf looks sleek and solid.

Green Kitchens
If you’re planning on remodeling your kitchen, green is one of the colors you should consider. However, if you’re new to the world of green colors, there are several different ways you can incorporate them into your kitchen. You may want to try a vibrant green table with ghost chairs arranged around it. Another way to incorporate the color into your kitchen is to install tall, mint-colored cabinets. Keeping the green color contemporary, you can also add bronze accents and uber-chic lighting.
Olive green
For those who love a vibrant pop of color, olive green is a great choice for kitchens. It goes well with brights like orange, red, and yellow and is an excellent choice for a retro look. Choosing a duck egg blue backsplash will help bring out the green cabinets. You can also use this vibrant hue in other areas of the kitchen.
Olive green is one of the popular colors for kitchens, and is currently on trend. The ‘overtly olive’ kitchen paint by Dulux has become a firm favourite in recent years. This calming, earthy colour can be styled in a variety of ways. Its natural earthy tones are complementary with neutrals and other colours, creating a relaxed atmosphere in a kitchen.
The olive green color looks stunning in kitchens with white cabinets and woodgrain countertops. Lighter woodtones will add a natural feel to a lime green kitchen, while a deep woodtone will add a richness to the space. A highly saturated lime shade is also a great choice for a soffit or open kitchen shelving.
Sage green
A sage green kitchen can be both soothing and inviting. This cool color works well against light grey or white walls. It can make a small kitchen feel larger. It goes well with natural materials, especially wood. Warm metallic accents are also a nice touch. Sage green goes well with light brown tiles, too.
This cool shade of green is also ideal for a coastal kitchen. It is a fresh and airy colour that pairs well with stone flooring and wooden worktops. It also looks great with black marble and ironwork. When selecting a green paint color, take inspiration from green things in nature. A few examples include a cucumber, asparagus spear, cooking apple skin, and a fragrant bunch of sage.
A sage green kitchen is a beautiful way to bring a sophisticated feeling to a kitchen. It looks great with light neutrals and tropical plants, which can add drama to the space. A sage green kitchen can also be paired with natural wood finishes to warm the area. It can also look stunning when paired with black, which is a beautiful contrast with sage.
Country apple green
The country apple green kitchen is a beautiful shade of green that works well with any decor. To add a touch of country charm to your kitchen, use the colour to decorate your cabinets. Choose a muted shade of green, such as a grey with green undertones. Then add accents of pink or other greens to bring out the green.
Choosing a shade of green that isn’t too vivid or too muted can add an unexpected pop of colour to your kitchen. Pale greens will look great when combined with white woodwork and natural textures such as wicker or wooden panels. Use a soft apple green to create a calming atmosphere.
Green is a color that is easy to match because of its many shades. Try contrasting it with light colors like white and cream walls, or use natural wood furnishings for a warm, welcoming feel. This color is both soothing and uplifting, which means it’s perfect for any kitchen.
Mint green
Mint green kitchens can convey a sense of freshness. The warm shades of mint green have similar undertones to French creams and whites, and can be a great alternative to the drab whites and grays that are often featured in Pinterest kitchen designs. In addition, these shades pair well with sleek marble and brass fixtures.
Mint green can be used as a bold accent color or as a soft hue. Mint green wallpaper or chevron designs are both beautiful ways to incorporate the color into your kitchen. Accessories and artwork can also add to the color. You can also get custom-made furniture in this shade if you want a more unique look.
It’s important to note that mint green doesn’t strike the same chord with buyers as sage, another popular color. It can actually depress the resale value of your home by up to $2,000, so it’s best to steer clear of this color when you’re planning to sell your home.

Frequently Asked Questions
These are the main layouts of a basic kitchen plan.
The four basic kitchen layout plans include L-shaped, U-shaped, T-shaped, and open-concept kitchens. These designs will depend on the area and number of appliances. To create a functional kitchen design, you should consider these various kitchen layouts.
L-Shaped Kitchen: The L-shaped kitchen is one of the most popular layouts because it’s efficient and can be easily customized. It is great for small and medium-sized kitchens, as it doesn’t require much space. You can add an island to this layout if you have the space.
U-Shaped Kitchen: The U-shaped kitchen is perfect for medium to large-sized kitchens because it offers many counter space and storage options. This layout can be customized with an island, but it’s unnecessary.
T-Shaped Kitchen. This kitchen design is ideal for large kitchens. It offers lots of counter space and is very versatile. The layout can be customized by adding an island, but that is unnecessary.
Open-Concept Cooking: If you have large rooms or homes, the open-concept kitchen will work well. This layout has no walls or boundaries, so it’s perfect for entertaining.
Is it better to put a backsplash or countertop on the first floor?
Before installing countertops or backsplashes, it is important to install the countertop. This will enable you to accurately measure the countertop and cut the backsplash so it fits perfectly. For proper backsplash installation, the countertop must be installed before any appliances and plumbing fixtures.
Should I leave my home during the kitchen remodeling?
If you love to eat takeout, you don’t have to leave. For children and pets with young children, you might be able to live at a neighbor’s house. This will ensure that your kids are safe and don’t get in the way. You’ll be able to keep your sanity intact if you don’t have to deal with construction noises and dust every day. If you decide to move out, get a written estimate from your contractor of how long the job will take. That way, you can plan your relocation around their timeline.
How to Save Money On Kitchen Remodel Costs
Here are some ways to save money on your kitchen remodel.
Do your research.
Research is the first step in any kitchen remodel. This will give you an idea of what you want from your kitchen remodel. Research will help you find cost-saving options.
Make a budget.
Once you have an idea about what you want from your kitchen remodel project, it is time to set a budget. This will allow you to determine the amount of money you will spend on your project. You must also stick to your budget in order to avoid going overboard.
Check out other websites for specials and discounts.
Consider looking for deals and discounts when shopping for kitchen appliances and materials. This will allow for you to save money when renovating your kitchen.
Find a reliable contractor.
When looking for a contractor to work on your kitchen remodel, you must find one who is reputable and has a good track record. You can get high-quality work done at a reasonable cost by a reputable contractor.
You can do the work.
You might be able do the work yourself, if you have the skills. This will help you save money on kitchen remodel costs and give you a sense of satisfaction knowing that you did the job yourself.
These tips will help save you money when remodeling your kitchen.
Are open-concept and modular kitchens in decline?
Open-concept cooking is still very popular as they allow for easy access to all the kitchen areas. For many reasons, some homeowners choose to return to more traditional kitchen designs.
Open-concept cooking can be very noisy. Open-concept kitchens can be difficult to clean due to all the cooking fumes and dust that circulate throughout the house.
Family members who love to cook together will appreciate open-plan kitchens. They can be dangerous for children who like to cook and aren’t always listening to their parents. You should carefully weigh the pros & cons of an open-concept style kitchen before you make your decision.
What is the most expensive part of a kitchen remodel?
This question is not definitive as the costs of kitchen remodels can vary widely depending on what project they are. Experts believe that a high end kitchen remodel could cost from $40,000-$100,000. So, planning a major kitchen overhaul, you could be looking at a hefty price tag. If you are not making structural changes, custom cabinets will often be the most costly part of your kitchen remodel.
25-35% of the total costs will be covered by custom cabinets. Countertops, appliances and flooring are some other big-ticket items. If you are tight on budget, it may be necessary to prioritize which kitchen pieces you want to renovate the most. It is possible to have a beautiful kitchen with minimal expense if you plan well.
However, there are many ways to reduce costs. Focusing on cosmetic changes is a better option than major structural overhauls. Instead of gutting the whole kitchen, you could refinish cabinets or put in new countertops. To save on labour costs, consider doing some of the work yourself if your project is larger.
There are many ways to make your kitchen remodel affordable, regardless of your budget. It is possible to create the kitchen you desire without spending a fortune.
Where should pots and pans go in the kitchen?
Pots and pans should be kept in the cupboard above your stove. This keeps them in reach when you need them. It also makes your kitchen counters look neat and clean. Pot racks can be useful to organize and keep pots and pans within reach.
Statistics

How to design your kitchen layout
Although there’s no perfect layout for a kitchen, some layouts work well in certain spaces. These are some ideas to help you design the kitchen layout that works best in your space.
Start with the essentials. The first step in determining what you have in your kitchen is to decide what can be sacrificed. If you don’t cook very often, you may not be in need of a large stove or oven.
