What do you MEAN that's wood. That is not wood, that is sorcery and witchcraft. Absolutely stunning

I have a bunch of drilling tools for making holes in wood, but nowhere to keep them gathered, so in this video, I'll take some driftwood and make the coolest tool holder in the world. The result turned out better than expected, and it's crazy how life-like the cat turned out, you can barely tell it's made out of wood

Prism Stick
Tumblr media
I made this with the materials I had at hand because I thought this stick would make a good back scratcher. It does okay. I didn't mean for it to turn out so childish. It looks as if a kid of twelve or less did this thing and the fact that I accidentally misspelled August when I signed and dated it makes the effect even worse.
I used a stick I found outside and an exacto knife to smooth it out as much as possible that way. When that wasn't enough, I found some unused sandpaper. I didn't want anyone to get splinters or injure themselves on a sharp part of it. The final smooth texture was very nice too.
Then I rinsed off the dust when I was finished in the kitchen sink. Might have left it there, but the thought occurred to me that this stick would look nice with a rainbow handle. So, I used my Prismacolor markers to color it because I don't have any paint. The first part of it looked so nice I carried on to the end of the stick.
The markers worked surprisingly well. Once dry, they don't smear. I've tried repeatedly to smear them with my thumb to test out how well the colors set. I'd have liked to have put that clear coating made for wood on it to help preserve the colors, but we don't have that here.
My woodworking skills are practically nonexistent. I do know a tiny bit though. I pick up all kinds of random information. Sometimes it's useful.
As silly as this thing turned out, I wonder what I could do if I had a much larger and sturdier stick that could be modified into a decorative cane or walking stick and the proper tools to do so? With some kind of decorative top to it and a rubber or metal end at the bottom.
I'm also wondering if anyone would try something like this, even if it's silly. Maybe go all out and really make a walking stick of some kind.
I really didn't mean for it to be so stupid looking. I'm 49, not twelve. Mom liked it okay. I was making it for her anyway. Her reaction was a thank you and an almost "meh" kind of response in her body language. I get it. I really do. So, no offense taken.

My heart may hurt cos of how the USWNT vs SWEWNT game went, but at least I might have a nice instrument out of all that heartbreak

Today I’m creating a unique and functional tool holder for a bunch of chisels using driftwood I found by the shore and small magnets purchased from Temu. This simple yet stylish tool holder not only keeps the chisels organized, but it also adds a rustic touch to the workshop. This is a simple craft anyone can make, requiring only the mentioned ingredients and basic tools like a handsaw, glue, electric screwdriver, hammer, and nails
