latest dream idea: what if anakin and obi-wan swapped origins? kinda, anyway (this is the kind of thing i'm honestly surprised i haven't already mused on to death, tbh)

like it’s a very understandable character trait to me; herbert values rationality and science, so it would make sense if he weighed the risks vs benefits of driving and decided he would simply use public transit, the clearly superior option in terms of efficiency and safety. but also, he uses that rationality to cover up the fact that he’s actually very emotional and a little bit neurotic, so there’s an added element of anxiety/phobia to the situation they he doesn’t acknowledge.

When I was in elementary school, my best friend was the horse girl™ (I was the dinosaur kid™ but that's irrelevant to the story) and she would tell me about her favorite horses and from there I became obsessed with draft horses. Like clydesdales, ya know? I had a little clydesdale figurine that was like my favorite thing. (Still have it actually)

I'm not going anywhere with this post but I just saw a video of a draft horse and thought about this.

Also I was scared of riding horses because when I was really little my granddad put me on top of one and it was too high up for little 2 year old Jack and I freaked the fuck out. I wasn't scared of the horses themselves, just being on top of them.
