I need people to stop bringing up Cait’s cut off apology as a show of her being genuinely remorseful for her actions against Vi because now we’re just making stuff up. If she was allowed to continue her apology, she could’ve said any number of things—doubled down on her decision, chalked it up to grief or trauma, spin it back on Vi—which would’ve been very interesting to watch play out, mind you, but we’ll never know.

And what does it say about Cait’s character that she led her apology with banging Maddie and not the more serious physical abuse she inflicted on her? What does it say about Cait that, instead of stopping Vi and continuing her apology, allowed her pussy to get ate? This is not a mark against the show, actually, I think it’s very interesting that Cait is as selfish as she is, whether the writer’s intended her to be that way or not.

the pathologic Kin is largely fictionalized with a created language that takes from multiple sources to be its own, a cosmogony & spirituality that does not correlate to the faiths (mostly Tengrist & Buddhist) practiced by the peoples it takes inspirations from, has customs, mores and roles invented for the purposes of the game, and even just a style of dress that does not resemble any of these peoples', but it is fascinating looking into specifically to me the sigils and see where they come from... watch this:

while the in-game words for Blood, Bones and Nerves are mongolian directly, it is interesting to note that their glyphs do not have a phonetic affiliation to the words (ex. the "Yas" layer of Bones having for glyph the equivalent of the letter F, the "Medrel" layer of Nerves having a glyph the equivalent of the letter È,...)

the leatherworks on the Kayura models', with their uses of angles and extending lines, remind me of the Phags Pa Script (used for Tibetan, Mongolian, Chineses, Uyghur language, and others)

some of the sigils also look either in part or fully inspired by Phags Pa script letters...

some look closer to the mongolian or vagindra (buryat) script

looking at the Herb Brides & their concept art, we can see bodypainting that looks like vertical buryat or mongolian script (oh hi (crossed out: Mark) Phags Pa script):

Patalliro! is fascinating to me because of stuff like this. It's unapologetically gay - even within its anime which aired during primetime hours in 1982 - in a way that many later BL manga would never be, like the ones from the early 2000s which would never dare to call their characters actual homosexuals. Patalliro has actually aged quite well in this regard, there's something comforting about how campy it is.

Thinking about step 9 and the whole concept of forgiveness of one’s self and others and it bringing healing and how bobby and Eddie have been paralleled a fair amount and the idea that Eddie started this process back at the end of s5 with his forgiveness and acceptance of his father but how he hasn’t yet gone anywhere near his mother and their relationship .

How his catholic guilt storyline seems more likely to play on his reltionship with his mother than his father (if his father wasn’t around that much it would’ve been Helena taking him to church etc each week) so the idea of an Eddie - Helena storyline that plays on catholic guilt and potentially his queerness in relation to that has me chewing on glass - it could be so epically good

i'm absolutely NUTS for vox taking charlie for granted in his bid to take alastor out, and ending up falling HARD for her. it hits on what i think is a major aspect of vox - he's so self-serving and willing to change himself to whatever is newest, whatever is "fashionable" and "likable." both he and alastor are liars, but alastor is genuine in who he is and what he prefers, and vox lacks that authenticity.

and then you have charlie who is absolutely ten thousand percent authentic, who sings and dances and bursts rainbows out of nowhere because that's just who she is! and alastor matches with that so beautifully; he falls into step with her and equals that energy and that enthusiasm. vox might try to match it: he might make a good show looking like he's matching it! but he can't meet that genuine part that connect charlie and alastor, and no matter how jealous alastor might get at seeing vox try, charlie is always going to choose alastor.

just. clenches fist. put vox in the cuck chair and KEEP him there, but let him make alastor sweat a little first.
