Stay the fuck away from trans women
everything in this post is TMRA garbage, not worth even arguing with.
People like this have no business speaking to or about us, let alone insisting that we should be in community with them. This is just tortured rationalization to treat us like garbage and reify patriarchal hierarchy by placing men in authority and power over women.
Trans women, you do not have to let toxic dipshits like this into your lives nor do you have to listen to them. They do not know what they're talking about, they only want to define our place as subordinate to them even as they move through the world as actual men. Be free of this garbage, be yourselves, don't let this shit drag you down.
people like this love to accuse us of terf rhetoric, but that entire post is literally terf rhetoric
also could someone who is not one of these unhinged woman-hating MRAs explain how people got to "white trans women are more male than other trans women" like they realize they're just trying to litigate excuses to say that shit and this isn't real analysis or theory right? Especially given how often trans women of color are ~suddenly white~ when people are mad at them?
#transmisogyny#you do not get to police OUR connection to motherhood you misogynist piece of shit#if your approach to trans women is to whine about how we're not demure enough for your fucking tastes#and ignore the significant material oppression we face in employment housing and violent discrimination#then your issue isn't really with what you falsely claim our socialization is your issue is you#leave us the fuck alone

Honestly I hate the “girlboss” criticisms of feminism more and more each day. A lot of people have rightfully pointed out that feminists had/have very practical reasons to fight for women’s rights in the workplace, but I feel like there’s still an idea that a woman is deluded or morally suspect if she enjoys or takes pride in her work. It’s not just about the money; it’s about not being barred from fully participating in society just because you’re a woman. That is an unfair and degrading thing to do to someone, even if they have other means of financial support.
#you can criticize employers for exploiting the language of empowerment to paper over their shitty actions#or criticize a female professional for doing something bad#without acting like women who value their careers are heartless and selfish#idk it’s like the whole ‘marriage equality is too conventional’ thing#regardless of how you feel about marriage#no one should ever have been allowed to ban it for same-sex couples specifically

HELLO THIS IS YET AGAIN ANOTHER REMINDER TO VOTE FOR EUROPEAN ELECTIONS
"AND WHY THE F---- SHOULD I???" Edition
Because the EU has a meh to fucking excellent track record on the following topics and can do good work if you send the right people there:
Data privacy
Queer rights
Women's rights
Culture and Education
Green policies (I know, I KNOW, but still)
Consumer's rights
Food safety
And it's got a shit track records on the following that will keep on getting worse if you do NOT vote:
Immigration and asylum
Authoritarianism and democratic backslide
Fiscal policies
Lack of democratic input
Because you may not be sure if it's worthy it, but we know exactly WHO will be VERY motivated to go vote, and they are not exactly putting a green ballot in the box.
#Looking HARD at every single person who went on erasmus and does not vote#people who got a plane ticket reimbursed for being delayed and do not vote#people who visit their friends in another European country and do not vote#people whose local library received EU funds and do not vote#women whose employer pay them equally because the EU said so and do not vote#european elections#you got all that from the EU and it did not magically appear!#actual people in actual institutions adopted these policies !!#if you want more of them you gotta to your part of the work and vote!#vote vote vote#and ask stuff about the EU here or somewhere else#if you are not sure about how it works#EU is full of bad stuff but it CANNOT do better if you don't sent people who WANT to do better

I'm rewatching all the Marvel Defenders shows on Netflix and as much as I mock the MCU now, I need non-Marvel fans to understand that I was and still am a fan of "Daredevil fighting the gentrifying assshole who bought out the police force because ACAB both as a lawyer and vigilante of the community" and "Jessica Jones fighting the man who mind controlled her into doing unspeakable things and forming a community of fellow survivors and allies while dealing with PTSD in a range of both healthy and unhealthy ways" Marvel. God I love these idiots they carried so hard
#vio.txt#mcu#marvel#jessica jones#daredevil#also the two of them induced so much bi panic in me. also gender envy. jessica jones is one of the few women i get gender envy fron#the iron fist and luke cage shows were...more mid but still leagues above current marvel shows#like. yes be anti-mcu but these were masterpieces#and yes this is why i was so pissed about them putting daredevil in she hulk and trying to make him iron man 2.0#like! yes hes suave and charming but thats bc its his lawyer job!! he works in a law firm he and his friends started to serve his community#he is NOT 'i am rich and better than u' charming. he is 'i learned how to talk fancy for my degree and i have empathy' charming#and not bringing the other guys over either???? bruhhh#marvel really cancelled the best things they did on the screen#matt murdock my original red and black round glasses wearing sadboy what did they do to you#also!! can i mention that these shows had such better representation than nowadays marvel#murdock's actor doing extensive research on blind motility for the role#jessica and trish's friendship and how trish immediately believes jess about kilgrave#the whole!!! unique community feel of harlem and in luke's bar#hogarth whos both jessica's employer and foggy's boss in later seasons being a lesbian and having Real Marriage Issues#and also being a conplex and kinda shitty person#iron fist was....eh but that's why it was the worst one lmao#OH YEAH HOW COULD I FORGET MY GIRL KAREN#karen page getting a whole storyline in s1 about her dealing w ptsd and then getting fleshed out backstory and her own adventures#like ok it was kinda weird in daredevil that she dated like every guy bc she was the female lead 💀#but even then foggy and matt and her figuring their shit out like adults. like they shot their shots and it didnt pan out. still besties th#disney would never allow such good writing in current times#but a boy can wish

Hey, check out the cool sword I just acquired.
A friend had helped her friend move, and she subsequently ended up with it. I was visiting and said Is that a sword and she immediately went It is your sword now, and who am I to argue.
#sadly strange women distributing swords is no basis for a system of government#or my employment troubles would be over#or at least different#weaponry#also this is my face

This may be a moment of weakness, but I'm starting to have more sympathy with female separatists.
"Women are people and deserve the same rights as you" didn't work. The first generation of men to see first-hand that equal rights means they won't get a wife/mommy/slave went hard right.
50% of marriages end in divorce. 70% of divorces are initiated by women. For every 2 divorced men who want to remarry, there's only 1 divorced woman who wants to remarry. 1/3 of men 18 - 24 haven't had sex in the last year.
Men are better off with you barefoot and pregnant. And they know it.
The incentives and opportunities for men to enslave women are just too strong. I don't know what to do about this.
#I have no idea what this means in practice#I'm fully prepared to eat my words#feminism#female separatism#this isn't about trans women#also being a “traditional” wife doesn't preclude working#but a society where women can't earn more than $40k is better for men#men would rather not have double the competition for every half-way prestigious job#also they're hornier. also they're stronger. also they have less empathy (maybe. it's complicated)#maybe things will look different in another generation. who knows?#for future context this was posted the morning of kamala harris' defeat#I'm so distraught. I don't know what to do#the argument against what I'm saying is that feminism just doesn't impact normal people's politics#but I don't really believe that#the political gap between gen z men and women is enormous#maybe boys are just afraid of cancel culture?#that may be a factor#but I think it's about slave mommies or employment

I think the show has a good narrative set up to dodge around Disney censorship while also telling an emotionally satisfying story.
If the core thrust of the season is for Agatha, "the covenless witch," to heal the primal wound of that rejection/trauma and have a coven again, then there's already something delightfully queer about that as a journey toward growth, yeah? An all female coven is kind of inherently queer and socially stigmatized due to that.
And if, at the same time, Rio turns out to have been trying to help (in her oblique way) and she and Agatha still clearly have feelings for each other -- sexy feelings, both passionately aggro and otherwise -- then that can be the great queer subtext that plays into that resolution and allows for us to spin things off further in fanfic and fanart.
It sucks that Disney is a monopoly and that artists have to work within their boundaries in order to have a job, but I think there's the potential to play with those boundaries and still do something good with BOTH explicitly canon queer characters and queer coding/intentional subtext for the main character.
That is what I see as a very real possibility, given both the narrative so far and the limits I'm aware of from Disney. Is it my ideal? No. But we do not live in an ideal world and the artists are not working under the conditions they wish they could. It is what it is.
#agatha all along#agatha all along meta#it would be better than the way Disney treated the coven and lesbian love on The Acolyte... where in response to reddit bro & youtube hate#they sent the showrunner (herself out queer irl and married with a kid) out to say the obviously TOGETHER women who had 2 CHILDREN TOGETHER#weren't together#that's not something she ever would have said if she had a choice about it and wasn't bound by an employment contract and NDAs etc#it was imo censorship and an abuse of power by an employer against a marginalized employee#this is the kind of boss artists working for Disney have to deal with!!#i'm engaging in full knowledge of how Disney corp behaves#and i refuse to call whatever artists are able to snaek past that bs 'queerbaiting' it doesn't fit this current political and economic#and cultural environment in the US

Most of the government's women empowerment schemes are just misogyny in disguise. Poor women in the name of empowerment work in trades of sewing, embroidery, cooking, farming etc. Their labour is exploited for very little pay in return.
They are not given access to esteemed universities or taught high paying skills. It's because men in power don't actually want women to flourish. They do the bare minimum and manipulate women into believing they have been given the world. Their schemes are only a vote hoarding tactic, never meant for women's actual interest.

It's disappointing but unsurprising that so many self-declared (radical) feminists prefer individualistic 'separatist' action (reading books by women, refusing to wear makeup, debates around male centrism) over actual, culture-changing action (wages for housework).
#i'm just as supportive of additional educational and employment opportunities for women#but i'm a realist and i know that some women will - for whatever reason - still be housewives#and i think we need to do something to protect them and change the culture around housework#(bc i don't think 'just don't live with men' is working)

Affirmative action began in the 1960s as a response to the civil rights movement and systemic discrimination in employment and education. The first official policy to implement affirmative action was President John F. Kennedy's Executive Order 10925, which was signed on March 6, 1961:
Purpose The order's purpose was to affirm the government's commitment to equal opportunity and to take positive action to strengthen efforts to achieve it.
Content The order required government contractors to:
Treat applicants equally without regard to race, color, religion, or national origin
Take affirmative action to ensure that employees were treated equally during employment
Who benefited most from affirmative action
European women are often considered to be the primary beneficiaries of affirmative action, which is a set of programs that aim to reduce discrimination in education, employment, and government contracting:
Education European women have become more educated and make up a larger portion of the workforce.
Employment European women have made significant gains in the job market, including in high-level management positions and in the professions of law and medicine.
Hiring A survey of employers in four major cities found that firms with affirmative action policies were 15% more likely to have hired European women.
However, some say that white men are the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action. Others say that the dismantling of affirmative action affects European women, too, and that the willingness to erase them from the story is part of the problem.

Why does the right constantly believe they are not being idealistic, the world needs to conform to your beliefs for them to work too, things are not going to just turn on a dime because you think you're intellectually superior for not thinking about the impact your changes would have on other people
#both sides drive me up the fucking wall#yes I position myself in the right side of the political spectrum but holy shit#'abolishing the police is a bad idea but we should abolish public schools'#'taxing the rich won't work because they avoid taxes like the plague so let's abolish all taxes and rely on people's generosity instead'#'we have declining birth rates and this is going to destroy the middle class and the military and the elderly but fuck maternity leave'#'employers are increasingly discriminating against women and mothers who need to work to support their families because the middle class is#shrinking but employers should be allowed to discriminate against whoever they want because they can't possibly have existing biases'#there's no quippy way to say it but the right believes gun safety laws can never properly be applied much like the left believes#pro-life laws can never be properly applied therefore restrictions are illogical at best and dangerous at worst#do you guys see what I'm saying here
