i wrote another rambly dennis analysis and deleted it <3 y'all don't need that
#ada speaks#this happens every time im on my period like fucking clockwork there's something wrong with me#dennis' essence is contained in the ovaries#it was some shit about how he's not actually the cis male power fantasy so many idiot dudebros think he is#and that he's like. ok listen. this will sound insane and probably piss Someone off but.#dennis is like. the worst and most repressed aspects of a female power fantasy#which. the way glenn treats him is.#basically that#yes his character is inextricably linked to misogyny and male privilege but#it's almost like its coming from a perspective that lacks that and he's somewhat of a hypothetical and very opposite exploration#does this make sense#anyway i dont think i can explain this 👍 but i think he's somewhat of a guilty pleasure to write because of this#all sunny characters are sort of meant to be the Worst parts of humanity that you want to Exorcize as glenn puts it#but dennis feels so.#i don't know.#guy who fears loss of power & fights for it not bc he's aiming for the top but bc he is so afraid of being at the bottom ever again#partiarchy and all. you know.#his privilege (primarily in terms of wealth but also his gender) has been just as much of a curse as it has become a weapon#his parents' neglect & their wealth allowing them to throw money at maids lead to him being taken advantage of by an older woman at school#the view of the abuse and it being recontextualized and forced into a positive that shaped the rest of his life because men can't be raped#but i can't explain the. Thing behind this that feels so#pardon the binary#womancoded.#he's like a love interest in a pulpy romance novel written#and i think its partially because he tries to emulate that and its why he is somewhat successful with women#but i don't think it's because he's catering to them i think he's just. oddly a character that comes across like Women Writing Men#i will Not be commenting on what this says about glenn--#cw csa mention#i cant believe i deleted a post and then wrote a rant in the tags about the deleted post this is my curse#the other one was worded better too 👍

They really not only said we are going to create a parallel to the siren episode and Sam cheating on Dean with this Valentine’s Day episode about Dean cheating on Sam but we are going to call Sam a dumb stupid woman for not being mad about it

yes Lestat's #patriarch but listen. listen. Louis is literally rich husband writing checks for his wife's monthly allowance. he's "I let her decorate the house don't ask me about the drapes" . Lestat will take Claudia out to kill people and stop outside the door of the Rue Royale house to go "remember, this spree is our little secret, if your dad asks we only got one dress (murder but also dress)". Lestat sees Claudia grow up and sees himself in her. Claudia grows up and realises that to Louis she is still daddy's little girl.

Snape is womancoded, yes.
But he is also mothercoded and wifecoded.
(So i have read a few posts about him being womancoded and decided to talk about this myself.)
Let me explain:
Obviously one can point out the way he dresses(,long black robes or a nightgown,)and how catty he is and how his patronus is a doe and not a male deer and so on and so on.
Or how long his hair is.
His appaerance alone is pretty womancoded.
And also some of his experiences.
Like his worst memory.
And i‘m not talking about Lily here.
I am talking about what James Potter did to him.
I‘m talking about sexual harrassment.
And how everyone just let‘s it happen. Noone ever talks about it. Because James was such a good guy.
A rich young boy with a bright future ahaid of him.
A promising young man.
i‘m also talking about the werewolf incident.
How he is almost murdered.
And how he is silenced by a man in power.
He is also wifecoded.
He pretty much sells his soul to that man in power, begging on hands and knees for his help, to save his best friend.
And having to serve him for the rest of his life in return.
„Anything“
He tells Dumbledore.
And Dumbledore takes everything.
He has given up his freedom and never regains it.
He always works in the shadows. Never being seen but always their to protect Harry.
Always caring for the child in his own way but never being recognized for it.
Just fulfilling his duty to Dumbledore.
He is never appreciated nor thanked for his work.
Bur he does it anyway.
Until he dies.
He is never believed.
He is instead always silenced.
And not allowed to have his own opinion.
If you look at Snape as the wife/mother and Dumbledore and Harry as the husband and child.
It makes a lot of sense.
Dumbledores opinion is what matters. What he says goes. Snape and Harry have to do as he tells them to.
Snape should do his work without complaining.
He is supposed to raise the child while all the credit goes to Dumbledore.
So yes.
Snape is not only womancoded. He is wife-and mothercoded too.
I said what i said.
An important addition i did not think i had to state.
Because, you know.
I thought that was pretty obvious, but apparently to some is not.
The picture i painted above is that which the patriachy tried to define a woman, a wife and a mother.
I can‘t believe i actually have to spell this out:
This is not how i view women.
This is how the patriachy views women and their role in our society.
And that is what i was referencing.
If you can‘t see that, than i really can‘t help you.
Nowadays you apparently have to state the obvious multiple times in order for people not to twist your words to suit their agendas.
Like dude. Really?
I‘m a woman. Do you think that‘s how i view myself?
God.
