Wolverine from X-Men: Evolution was a gay man, or at the very least queer. My evidence is as follows:
No defining/memorable romantic relationships with women AT ALL during the show's run. Jean was a teenager, he was an adult, and - unlike the Ultimate X-Men comics which served as inspiration for this series - these two did not have a romantic relationship nor did they have any romantic tension, the relationship between them instead mirroring a brother/sister one. The same can be said about Logan's other high-profile comics romantic interest, Storm, where their relationship was more like siblings as well rather than anything with romantic undertones.

Okay but this
Tumblr media
is _not_ an early attempt at an Iron Man film. This is from 1977's Exo-Man, a made-for-TV movie directed by Richard Irving, based on a story by Martin Caidin (who also wrote the 1972 novel Cyborg, which was the basis of The Six Million Dollar Man series). It starred David Ackroyd (an actor then mostly known for his work on soap operas) as Dr. Nicholas Conrad, a scientist who was paralyzed when mobsters broke into his lab and robbed him (one of them beat him across the back with a steel rod), and he built himself an "exo suit" that let him walk... and fight back against criminal scum, as EXO-MAN!
If this sounds familiar, then you're probably thinking of the 1994 series M.A.N.T.I.S., about an outspoken scientist (Carl Lumbly!) who was paralyzed by a police sniper, and made a suit of armor that allowed him to walk & could fire non-lethal paralyzing darts, which he used to fight crime as MANTIS.
Getting back to the original topic (Brute Force): 2002's New X-Men #130 revealed that the Weapon X project -- which bonded Adamantium to Wolverine's skeleton and scrambled his memories -- was the 10th iteration of the Weapon Plus program (X being the Roman numeral for 10), which had started with Weapon I (aka Project Rebirth, the one which turned Steve Rogers into Captain America). The second version, Weapon II, tried turning animals into super-soldiers, and their results were... Brute Force!

We already saw Uproar the gorilla, but the rest of this team is just… chef’s kiss. A Rhino is on the level, as is a vulture… but then we get a mobile shark on sawblade wheels?! A octopus on tank treads?!? I love it… oh and also these guys are called Heavy Metal…. perfection.

X-23: Innocence Lost & Target X Are The Books That Will Make You Hate Steve Rogers
~~~~~~~~~~
X-23: Innocence Lost is a 2005 graphic novel published by Marvel, following the popularity of the X-Men: Evolution cartoon series which was based off a miniseries of the same name. The show featured the X-Men attending public high school as teenagers while living at the Xavier Institute, which for all intents and purposes served as a group home in the show. The show also served as the debut for the fan favorite character Laura Kinney — AKA X-23.
Following her debut in the Evolution cartoon series, Laura became so in demand that Marvel decided to officially introduce her into the Marvelverse with Innocence Lost. And lemme just say innocence was indeed lost.
Tumblr media
The book focuses heavily on Sarah Kinney, whose a scientist and Laura’s mother for all intents and purposes. Sarah was originally hired by the Weapons Plus program — the same government program that produced Weapon X (Wolverine) — to create a clone of Logan Howlett. But when Sarah failed to create a male clone and instead produced a female clone — this is next part is a wee bit fucked up — she is forced to carry Laura to term herself as punishment.
I bet you’re starting to wonder how Steve Rogers comes to play into all of this.
Welp, following years of child abuse — I mean, training — and being forced against her will to carry out multiple assassinations by the Weapons Plus program, Laura eventually escapes the facility she was raised in following her mother’s death. Grief-stricken and rife with PTSD, Laura decides to hunt down Logan at the Xavier Institute in Target X, which is the direct sequel of Innocence Lost. It all leads up to what, I think, is a very touching murder-suicide attempt.
Tumblr media
Luckily, Logan is saved from the fourteen-year-old girl by none other than….
Steve Rogers
And if you wanna see the irony and hypocrisy that ensues, I highly recommend doing a compare and contrast of these two books alongside of Ed Brubaker’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Or, ya know, watch the movie. That might get the message across a lot clearer.
Happy Reading❤️
Fresh Glimpses at 2025 Marvel & DC Films: Captain America, Thunderbolts, and Superman Shine
Hey, Marvel and DC fans, buckle up—2025 is shaping up to be a superhero blockbuster year that could blow your mind! With brand-new stills from Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy making the rounds, it's time to dive into what’s coming next for these iconic franchises. Let’s break it down like a casual chat over coffee while keeping it as cinematic as these movies deserve. First off, Anthony Mackie's Captain America is taking center stage in Brave New World. The freshly released image shows him in a control room, looking ready to tackle his first big-screen outing as the titular hero. It’s a historic leap forward for the MCU—Sam Wilson stepping into the shield-bearing role that Chris Evans immortalized. But let’s not forget the drama that’s brewing. Rumors suggest Brave New World will feature the return of Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader in all his Gamma-irradiated glory, a villain we haven’t seen since The Incredible Hulk back in 2008. If Marvel’s saving his reveal for the theaters, expect a jaw-dropping moment that might even rival Thanos picking up the Infinity Gauntlet. Now, let's shift to Thunderbolts. The sneak peek shows Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) reacting to something mysterious in the distance. Imagine an anti-hero dream team grappling with morally gray missions while also keeping their banter as sharp as their weapons. The MCU hasn’t yet dropped a clear look at Sentry, the rumored powerhouse of the film. If they play their cards right, this could bring a raw, darker tone to the franchise. Thunderbolts promises to scratch the itch left by The Suicide Squad for fans of chaotic teams with explosive chemistry. Meanwhile, DC is bringing back Superman with a fresh face and a fresh vision. David Corenswet is stepping into the Man of Steel’s cape in Superman: Legacy, and the new image captures him standing tall on a Metropolis street. James Gunn is building a new DCU from the ground up, and Superman is the bedrock. With no Henry Cavill in sight, this version of the hero seems poised to focus on optimism and hope rather than the brooding tone we’ve seen before. Gunn’s track record with character-driven storytelling (Guardians of the Galaxy, anyone?) sets high expectations for this reboot. While the stills give us a taste, they also leave a lot to the imagination. Think about it—Marvel and DC have been strategic in keeping their biggest surprises under wraps. Remember how Marvel only teased Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men after No Way Home hit theaters? Or how Deadpool’s trailers barely revealed Wolverine’s mask until the film was almost out? This time, they’re doubling down on mystery. No Leader or Sentry shots, no Superman villain reveals—just the heroes in all their glory. The approach might feel like a throwback to an era before spoiler-heavy trailers became the norm. And honestly? It’s refreshing. It keeps the theater experience alive, making every reveal feel earned. Plus, these stills already set the tone for what’s to come—action-packed drama, new faces taking iconic roles, and a dash of nostalgia as franchises evolve. So, whether you’re a Marvel diehard, a DC purist, or just here for the superhero spectacle, 2025 promises to deliver something for everyone. As we count down the days, keep an eye out for more teasers, twists, and surprises. This might just be the year the MCU and DCU redefine what superhero films can be—and we’ll be here to cheer them on. Let the hype train roll! Read the full article
