Actual things that happen in the 1897 Dracula novel, without context:

A character has ominous nightmares and attributes them to eating too much paprika

Dracula first appears wearing a fake beard

The person he was trying to fool with the fake beard immediately realizes Dracula and Beard Guy are the same man, due to both having really firm handshakes

We are told parrots are immortal unless fatally wounded

A Texan cowboy opens fire on a bat flitting around a window, and lodges a bullet in the wall of an occupied room

A woman is called a polyandrist for receiving blood transfusions from multiple men

An incorrectly addressed telegram leads to two deaths, multiple druggings, and several children being assaulted

Dracula, while trying to maintain a low profile, takes a lovely trip to the zoo and freaks out the animals so badly that he gets mentioned in a newspaper article

The one character who knows anything about vampires spends a good two-thirds of the book refusing to talk about vampires

Dracula went to Satan's Witchcraft Academy and somehow this is only brought up in two throwaway lines

Stage 4, Happy Halloween! Everyone is here! The Hallowgamate has become a boiling surface of October icons in this form. It’s the most powerful one depicted in the story but there will still be one last Halloween treat tomorrow.

Jazz can't cure Jason's pit rage, but che can take it from him. She's mostly mentally stable enough to restrain it, but we do still get scenes like Red Hood Assistant Jazz responding to being threatened by ripping off a guy's arm and beating someone else to death with it. Jazz doesn't rage often, but when she does, it's brutal.

“Everyone! Quick! Scatter!” Someone shouted.

Another person paused, confused. “Why? What happened? Did the Bats arrive?”

The same person who first shouted shook his head, eyes wide. “No. Even worse. Wolf is in a bad mood!”

There was a pause. Then everyone scattered like rats. Just as the last person was ducking behind a desk, the door to the hideout opened with a bang and a tall figure strode through. She was radiating rage and darkness and she entered the room without a care.

In her hands was an unconscious man that she dragged across the floor by his hair.

Another door to the hideout opened, and the Red Hood, their boss, walked in.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Wolf’s cold aura immediately lessened drastically.

Red Hood walked over to her casually, helmet tilting as he looked at the person whose hair was being clenched within Wolf’s fist.

“… so what’s this?”

“Just an animal I had to deal with,” replied Wolf cooly. She bowed her head. “I’ll clean up after myself.”

Red Hood chuckled, the noise coming out mechanical. “It’s alright, Princess. I’ll get someone else to do it. Why don’t you sit down and take a drink? You’re probably tired.”

“Is that an order?”

“Yep. Go and relax. It’s a sorry day in hell when I’m the calm one and you’re the angry one.”

Wolf was silent and then she sighed. She unceremoniously dropped the body she was holding and then nodded. “Yessir.”

She turned and then left the room to the lounge. Red Hood tapped his foot on the ground and then said, “Alright, I need someone to put this guy in the interrogation room. I also need two other people to clean up the blood on the floor.”

Everyone quickly complied, thankful that for some odd reason, Wolf and Red Hood could calm each other down so easily.
