Not the closed tribe anon but as someone who was in the WOF amino for like a month before having enough and deleting my account. Yeah closed tribes are fucking stupid!!!

I dunno if this is an amino specific thing but godddd the "special traits" are so fucking idiotic.

SOME TRIBES GATEKEEP DISABILITIES AS SPECIAL TRAITS????? I saw one tribe that said eyeless dragons was an "epic" trait and when I said that was kinda fucked up since that's a disability and they essentially replied with a long winded essay about how it's fictional and I'm sensitive even though people and animals can be born without eyes

I've seen disabilities kept as special traits or only so many people could have them in warrior cats RPs before. I had no idea that was a problem in fantribes too, even though I was on amino for a while.

I haven't really settled in a persona (yet) but the closest would be this guy! Their name is Mirage and he's a sky-sand firescales, named for his ability of just randomly showing up and leaving without anyone noticing he actually left. I've had him forever and have forgotten his lore but I love him and he is the closest thing to a sona I have :D

I had been looking desperately for a character design that I had purchased in 2019. I had deleted all my accounts and stuff from that time, so I was not going to be able to recover this design if it wasn't on my computer or in my Google Drive

Well, not only did I find the design I had been looking desperately for in a Drive folder called "Extras", but I found a ton of other character designs that I'd had around that same timeframe.

Dragon of the week

heyo been a bit lol, been up to a lot recently but one thing i wanted to share is my covers for a dragon of the week thing over on the wof amino

I tried putting them in order from newest to oldest. My personal favorite is still battlewinner cause I loved drawing the lava. Least favorite is probably kinkajou as I dont feel I did her justice, dont hate it but I would go back and make it more vibrant if i could. Id also like to give dusky a new piece as that one is much older than the rest

being 11 years old with not monitored Internet access I was the big wof amino in like 2018-2019 I think and I was really obsessed with the gecc-tails fan tribe and made a rip off and the owner got mods to take it down

And then I made an art challenge around sicknesses later on and the gecc-tails owner asked me to do STD's

i survived the fantribe-pocalypse of wof amino.

closed fantribes have cooled down considerably since the booming days (the community as a whole has mellowed out a lot tbh). there was a minor resurgence with tribes like sparktails and endarians?? but most don't get a ton of attention like the classics anymore.

now. let me say one word. hoodwings.

let me say more. peakwings. streamwings. septails. gecctails. kiplings. gelwings. blobbois. trenchwings. runicwings. elixipods. sharkfins. cofras. the fish bowl tail ones. and a bunch more. but if you know you know.

if you had a peakie or a hoodie, EVERYONE envied you. or they thought you were kind of annoying. but those people probably secretly envied you. just a little bit. i should know 🧍i DID eventually get a cheap streamie, a free serp, AND a free blobboi, though. not to flex. (i still have them btw i love them.)

any other tribe with a hood got called a hoodwing rip-off.

i saw some people with masterlists that had, like, sixty-three unnamed streamies. and they claimed they weren't hoarding..... okay, look, i don't really believe in "hoarding" characters (just have fun with your characters i literally don't care) but. that's a little insane.

and almost every one of the staffs for these fantribes had drama. don't ask me what drama because i never cared. when hoodwings fell from grace the community quivered.

soleiwings were sort of the last big BIG fantribe on the app? i think? closed fantribes started to fizzle out after those guys. but yeah. thanks for going down memory lane with me.

I'm trying to think now since it seems I chatted with a couple of people who have had bad experiences with the WoF fandom, but all in different parts, so here's just a question:

I have been informed that today is appreciate a dragon day so I have decided to show u guys my dragon who is also one of my sonas and was my main sona for a LONG time (like almost 4 years)

This is Vostok (I usually just refer to him by Vos), and he was my main WoF-sona for a very long time like I said lol. He's still a sona of mine bc he still holds a lot of value to me, I just don't use him nearly as much as I used to since I'm not rlly into WoF anymore. But anyways, he's also accumulated a ton of art over time, mostly bc he was my sona while I was on the Wings of Fire Amino, and especially got a lot more while I was on the WoFA staff team (long story). So even tho he may not see the light of day as frequently as he used to, I wanted to give Vos some time in the spotlight here today :]

Ghost (Sand/Hive): thinking of changing the design bc they’re supposed to be my wof sona

Tropical Storm (Rain/Sea): one of my main characters, she was my very first wof character, I created her back in elementary school when I first started reading this series lol

Sunset (Sand): adopted her a long time ago back when I was on amino and she was my sona for a while, now she’s just for comfort

Neptune (Ice/Night): my beloved little guy, another one of my main characters in the little story I have

Taipan (Sand): another beloved little guy, Neptunes boyfriend and one of the princes of the sand kingdom in my story

Chili (Sky/Sand): a firescales I created not too long ago, he doesn’t play a big part in my story I just really like to draw him

Chimaera (Trench): chimaera like the fish not the mythical creature, I adopted a trenchtail on amino when I was still on it and wanted to draw him again

Seaglass (Ice/Sea): they make sun catchers for a living I just wanted to draw them finalizing one of their pieces

I made the first iteration of this sona ...5? 6? years ago (I dont have amino anymore so I cant exactly check) but I remember I made them an icewing because Id only read the first arc so I thought itd be super uncommon to have an icewing as your sona. yeah right. and somehow that spiralled into me associating myself w/ cyan/light blue and purple and having all my sonas have at least one of those colors, plus me still using the username I came up with for wings of fire amino specifically. even though I dont spend that much brainpower on wof anymore, I still do think about it (considering Im still worldbuilding and conlanging for it)
