And reader is just like 'oh sevikas just so adorable shsjkassjksksk cutie patootie i wuv her!!!!!' while Sevika is off in the distance beating someone half to death because he touched her shoulder .. on accident ( ゚ー゚)
also, i beg of you to use inspo from that one scene in deadpool where he meets yukio. I kid you not thats where i got this requests inspo from.

--🃏🌀⭐️
(and now to crawl back into my pit of lesbian shame .. (ФωФ))
HIII ANON sorry this took me so long to answer but i’m occupied with writing 2 sevika oneshots so i hope i can earn your forgiveness once they’re out 🫶 also i yapped a lil about hyperfemme!sevika here so ignore the fact that i can’t follow a request to save my life!!! 18+
Tumblr media
ok so the way i envision sevika’s girlfriend would be a little bit… drag-ey?? i don’t really know how to explain it so allow me to elaborate…
1. we already know that femme lesbians are feminine in a way that’s different from feminine straight women (more cutesy, stylish, female gaze, etc.) but also…
2. with the way people dress in zaun (when they’re not murdering each other) and the general way they’re animated is very costumey. lots of face paint, masks, sophisticated outfits.
so i think in the arcane universe you’d probably dress something like this. painting your skin weird colors, covering yourself head to toe in body glitter, wearing expensive wigs, corsets, and heels that look impossible to move in, and stuff like that.
that means sevika would try to make sure you’re comfortable 24/7!!! especially if you’re wearing something potentially dangerous like heels that are two feet tall, she wouldn’t let you walk the whole night, instead picking you up and hauling you around.
as if the money silco pays her isn’t enough, she makes tons of money from the guys she gambles with. she spends every last PENNY on you. it’s not like she needs to spend it on herself though, her arm and her scowl are a pretty deadly weapon, and she doesn’t go all out with clothes like you do.
also i think she’d completely fold if you ever wore a low cut top or even no top when you go out with her (and she doesn’t believe in bras… so…) especially if you have piercings in/around your tits, she’d be fondling them and groping them all night!!!
she 10000000% has a thing for public sex!!!! while she’s playing cards, she’ll slide your skirt up (if it’s even long enough…), and have you ride her strap. the dumbfucks she’s playing with would gawk and stare at what’s obviously going on in her lap, but she’s about to rob them of their money, so they really shouldn’t be focusing on it.
oooh and once you finally cum, she’d be like “good girl, now give me another. okay?” and her fingers would start vibrating as you slump down next to her… of course you might get weird looks, but if anyone tries to say or do anything about it she could literally just kill them. (or maybe she’s feeling nice and will break a few of their ribs instead, who knows…)
she’d be constantly covered in some kind of your makeup. especially if you wear a crazy color lipstick like bright blue or something, her lips and cheeks and nose would be that color the whole night. and if you wear body glitter, it would look sooooo pretty on her skin. she’d be glaring at people all night like 😡😡😡😡 but her face and hands would look like ✨✨🌈🦄🩷✨✨
adding onto that, she’d look sooo pretty if she let you experiment (which is a pretty big IF), but imagine her with her hair curled, wearing pretty purple glitter on her cheeks and arms, in some sort of heeled boots that make her even taller than she needs to be, and in a dress?? in a short dress??? sevika in a short dress???? i’ll (s)cream right now…
if someone manages to corner you and talk to you about sevika, the conversation would be hilarious and very unproductive. they’d be like “why her? doesn’t she scare you?” and you’d be like “sevika? my little baby bear?? my knight in shining armor who screams at the sight of bugs??? no… she doesn’t scare me…”
meeting silco and the rest of the last drop crew would be… quite the experience. they’re all staring with wide eyes, practically shaking because of how scary she looks, and then there’s you with your hands entwined with hers, some of your bright pink face paint smudging onto her cheeks and neck as you nuzzle into her. silco’d find her alone for one moment and ask “who the hell is that?” and she’d reply with “my girlfriend. 😾 don’t mess with her.” and he’d be like “your girlfriend? your girlfriend is a barbie doll?? o…kay… congrats to both of you…”

———————————————————————-
if one thing is true, it is that ohio state hates university of michigan. the feeling is definitely mutual. the two schools have been rivals since before you can remember. all you know is that you cannot associate with someone from michigan. you were raised a buckeye, and you will stay a loyal buckeye, right?
well, being a loyal buckeye is really damn hard right now.
it is not an abnormal thing for you and your friends to go and support the sports teams at your school. most of the time, it was football games. sometimes, it was hockey games. and now hockey season is starting. the stadium buzzes with energy at the first rival game of the season. it’s the beginning of october and the beginning of fall, which you believe is one of the best times of the year. the air finally starts to become crisp after a blazing summer. it couldn’t be a better time for a hockey game. so, you and your friend decide to go to the game for the atmosphere.
just here for the atmosphere, you try to remind yourself now. you also happen to be questioning in your mind why a hockey player just tossed you a puck. a michigan hockey player. there is no way that he thought you were a michigan fan because, first of all, there is a very minimal amount of michigan fans. you’re literally at your home arena. second of all, you and all of your friends are wearing ohio state gear. who does this stupidly gorgeous wolverine think he is?
while all of your friends start squealing because of this boy’s gesture, you sit there in shock. you look at the puck that rests in your hands. you don’t snap out of your confused daze until one of your friends nudges you.
“you think he’s cute?” she asks with a small smile on her face. her words are teasing and her smile is smug.
of course, you think he’s cute. how could you not? he is tall, has curly hair that you can see peaking through his helmet, and you note the little smirk that he had on his face as he skated away from you.
“he’s not bad-looking,” you answer. you can’t stop a small smile that grows on your face as you look down at the little gift.
during the game, you and your friends find out that this boy’s number is 43 and his last name is hughes. you can’t deny that your eyes follow him almost the whole game. you try not to let them wander, you really do. upon finding out his last name and jersey number, your friends are able to find his instagram account.
“you guys are actually insane,” you say with a snicker.
“we just found your future boyfriend on instagram, so you're welcome,” one of your friends teases sassily.
the game goes on and the whole arena is filled with chants and overwhelming school spirit as ohio state finishes off the game, winning 4-3 in overtime.
this is not good for luke. his mind has gone into a spiral of what went wrong and what the team could have done better when he remembers his bold actions during warmups. the truth is, luke isn’t some cocky hotshot hockey player. he is just an awkward college student who happens to be pretty darn good at the sport he plays. luke is charming and charismatic. he knows this, mainly because he has been told by other people. he just isn’t all that confident in using these abilities quite yet.
luke can already feel the regret bubbling inside of him because of his previous actions, certain that he has zero shot with this girl. what are the chances of him even seeing her anyway? well, apparently very high because he does see her again.
you had let your friends encourage you to wait outside the locker rooms to see if you could find the boy that they so desperately want you to meet. and then they left you. they left you wandering outside the locker rooms anxiously by yourself. in their minds, it was a way to get you alone with luke. in your mind, it was downright mean. the only people who really stand outside the locker rooms are family members and girlfriends, which you are neither of. you feel out of place and you honestly hope that luke comes out of the locker room just so that you don’t have to hover awkwardly for much longer.
then, your prayers are answered because out walks the same hockey player that had so shamelessly thrown a girl on the opposing school’s team a puck earlier. only this time, the boy looks much less intimidating. he actually looks quite friendly. when he walks out of the locker room, he is talking with one of his teammates. he looks exhausted and a bit beaten up from the loss that his team just faced, but that doesn’t make him any less attractive in your eyes.
luke sees you and immediately recognizes you. he couldn’t forget such a pretty face. honestly, that is probably the only reason that he gained the confidence to toss you a puck in the first place. seeing you smiling with your friends and looking so gorgeous while doing it made luke so desperate to try and flirt with you.
now, luke is a tad stunned. he sees you and just freezes for a moment. he decides to approach you after a few seconds of you not noticing him.
“hello,” you hear a male voice say after clearing his throat. you spin around to see the captivating wolverine from earlier.
“oh, hi..” you reply softly. both of you seem too shy to speak to the other properly.
“thanks for the puck,” you speak up, now looking up at his taller frame.
“oh yeah, no problem. i’m sure you get that all the time being as stunning as you are…” luke says back. his demeanor is still very bashful. although, he can feel his confidence swell as the conversation flows on because there is no way that he is losing his chance with you.
you find his attempt at flirting a bit amusing but still sweet. his continuous attempts to impress you and try to hold the discussion with you are honestly adorable.
“not usually, and not by anyone i would want to get to know anyway. i could make an exception for you though,” you respond, a pleased smile finding its way to your features.
“do you want to get to know me while we get lunch then?” luke asks. very smooth transition, luke. very smooth indeed.
“our schools are three hours away from each other you know…” you say. your words are meant to be taken almost as a warning. not just a warning to luke but to yourself as well.
“i have a feeling i’ll be in it for the long game,” the boy simply replies with a little grin and slight shrug. his casual answer eased you a bit and let you know that he wants to make it work out if you also want to.
you have literally known this boy for a whole two minutes of your life and you are already thinking about if you could go long distance with him. i guess he really did catch your attention on the ice.
“i’m luke by the way,” he says.
“y/n,” you reply.
you don’t dare to tell your family what school luke goes to if you guys do end up making it work.

⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹
ellie williams x reader | mini fic for casual
casual m.list | tlou m.list
⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹
୨୧ ellie is very musically talented, sometimes she’ll hear a few notes in her head and within half an hour, she’ll have a pretty decent tune
୨୧ she’s the founder of ‘the infected’ she came up with the name when she accidentally cut herself and the cut looked really gnarly n infected and then she was like.. woah that’s a pretty sick name
୨୧ jesse and dina teased her about the same bc it sounds like she’s go a uti
୨୧ it took her awhile to convince jesse and dina to join her band because 1. too much drama and 2. jesse didn’t care for being on stage
୨୧ she coaxed him into it by telling him that dina’s gonna get a lot of fanboys/girls n she’ll leave him in the dust for good
୨୧ she carries her journal everywhere with her in case inspiration strikes when she’s grocery shopping
୨୧ she also carries around a guitar pic because she likes to have something between her teeth and since she’s trying to quit smoking.. this is the next best thing
୨୧ she will NEVER EVER admit this to anyone but the reason why she moved to Seattle to start a band was because of Kurt Cobain (also why she has short hair and wears flannels)
୨୧ everyone should thank joel for him showing ellie nirvana bc without it, she may have never started a band
୨୧ ellie sometimes deprives herself of music because she doesn’t want to make anything that’ll make ppl say “that sounds like <insert band name>” it’s torture but it works
୨୧ ellie would’ve totally been the lead singer but she prefers to write and compose rather than be in the spotlight
୨୧ she wasn’t surprised when the band was starting to get traction (she in fact was and had to take a lap around the room)
୨୧ her fans paint her as this ‘player’ which she kinda revels in bc it gets her more pussy (she actually kinda hates it bc it makes her feel like a bad person but hey GAME IS GAME)
୨୧ she LOVES pop punk shows, one time she saw a bigger band and their show was so crazy, like crowd surfing, people pushing against the barrier, guards having to keep them in the pit, and everyone screaming the lyrics… she hopes her band will be that big one day
୨୧ she loves attending concerts but she can’t help but compare herself to the other bands
୨୧ she’s an audiophile, she goes to best buy just to compare headphones and their sound quality then leaves with nothing (ofc)
୨୧ every ellie in the ellieverse is a nerd, it’s a canon event, this ellie is not only a comic book nerd and a space nerd.. she’s also a GUITAR NERD !! (new ellie unlocked) she knows every type of guitar, yes, even the one that was made a minute ago in new guinea!
୨୧ ellie got her job at the guitar shop she works at bc during the interview, she completely nerded all over the place about the guitars on the walls, the old manager didn’t even need to go further in the interview, he slapped a name tag on her (he messed up and her name is elsie now) and booked it outta there
୨୧ she takes her job very seriously, it’s cute to see her working, it’s like watching a young bill gates talk about his apple products except this bill gates is wearing a raggedy flannel (she says it makes the customers trust her more bc it makes her looks like kurt), messy hair, and glitter from the concert last night
୨୧ she stays up to date on the latest guitars
୨୧ fun fact: she only gets her guitars from joel, her loving dad who runs a guitar/woodwork shop back in jackson :)
୨୧ speaking of joel, he supports ellie’s dream of being in a band because he wanted to be a singer when he was younger and he sees that younger self in ellie, it makes him happy when she talks about the concert she had last night.. it’s almost like he’s talking to his 20 year old self
୨୧ even though joel supports it, it still scares him, he doesn’t want ellie to end up like him
[a/n]: okay that’s all for now!! hope you guys like this mini thingy :3 i’ll write the next part tmrw!!

Part V - Part VII
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
“Absolutely not.” Vessel responds blankly as he flips through one of the magazines by the register.
“Ves, come on.” You groan. “It's one night.”
“Yeah, one night with a whole group of people that want to run us out of town.” He retaliates in the same bored tone as he turns another page.
“Everyone's going to be wearing costumes, no one will know it's you.” You offer as you start bagging his purchase.
“They've seen pictures of us, love.”
“What? Those blurry, grainy sasquatch looking photos from the paper?” You sigh, handing him the bags. “Listen, I know you're worried. I know you just want to keep everyone safe, but you hiding yourselves away is only going to make people more suspicious.” You could feel his eyes studying your face.
“I get the slightest feeling that something is wrong we leave, do we have a deal?” He sticks out his hand to you, you clap your own into his without hesitation, giving it a firm shake. “I agree that people might be more comfortable with us being in town if we can exist in the same space without an issue… I just hope you're right about this.”
“I'll be right by your side the whole time.” You exchange a soft smile.
“Are you closing early that day?” He asks.
“Of course, I have to get into costume myself.” You giggle. “I'll be closing at noon that day, but I can always reopen if you guys want to stock up afterwards.” You offer.
“It’s not that, I wouldn't want to trouble you.” He chuckles. “I was thinking maybe we could meet here before the festival.”
“I'd like that.”
“Then it's a date.” He bows his head slightly in dismissal before pushing out the door.
The next day the store was abuzz with excited children picking out glow sticks, mother's buying ingredients for their bake sale items, and last minute costume necessities for all the town's residents. “Miss (Y/N)!” You can't help but smile as a young boy with messy brown hair and a gapped tooth smile rushes up to the counter.
“Daclan, she's busy-” his mother starts, a bubbly school teacher you had gotten to know quite well since she had moved to town.
“Don't worry about it, Siobhan.” You chuckle, pulling the bucket of candy out from behind the counter and discreetly offering it to him. You lean down slightly, “if you don't tell the other kids I'll let you take two.” You whisper with a wink. He shoves his hand into the bucket before quickly and triumphantly retrieving his candy.
“Miss (Y/N), are you coming to the Fall festival?” He asks excitedly.
“Of course I am, I wouldn't miss it for the world.” You smile. “What's your costume going to be this year?” He starts rambling on about his skeleton costume as you ring the two of them up.
“Woah! Mom, look at him!” Your attention flashes over to the door to see Vessel frozen in place as every pair of eyes in the store land on him. As quickly as he caught their attention it was gone, the bustling energy returning once more as everyone continued their shopping. You motion him closer with a wave of your hand. Declan stared up at the large masked man in amazement. “What are you supposed to be?”
Vessel gives you the briefest of looks, not exactly sure how to respond at first. But, seeing the boy's bright smile and lack of fear, it warmed his heart. He leans down, resting his elbows on the counter to bring himself closer to eye level. “The Grim Reaper, pretty scary, right?” He says with a grin.
“Awesome!” Declan exclaims in response. “Mom, can we make a costume like his next year?” Vessel chuckles at the young boy’s excitement.
“Sure thing, honey.” She ruffles Declan’s hair. “Come on, let’s let Miss (Y/N) close up so she can get ready.” You exchange goodbye’s with her, Declan telling you that he hopes you get to see his costume before hurrying out the door.
“So far so good.” You remark as you lean against the counter, you and Vessel shifting to more easily face each other. “I promise tonight will be fun.” You reach out, grabbing his shoulder and giving it a reassuring squeeze.
“Well, if you talk so highly about this festival, I can't see any harm in giving it a shot.” You wait for your last few customers to file out of the store before locking up.
“Where's everyone else?” You ask, looking out in the empty lot for their truck.
“They're in back, I hope you don't mind.”
“Not at all.” You click off your open sign with a smile, motioning with a nod for Vessel to follow you out the front door. Your keys jingled in your hand as you struggled with the lock. “You'd think after all this time I wouldn't mess this up.” You sigh. The front door had a tendency to not shut fully unless things were maneuvered a certain way; the keys had to be slid into the lock a certain way, you had to push the door fully shut with your shoulder, you felt your cheeks start to burn as you struggled with something so simple in Vessel’s presence.
“Mind if I give it a try?” He offers quietly. You shuffle out of his way, the heat of his body noticeable against yours as he slid a little too close behind you. He jiggles the key slightly, slamming his shoulder into the glass pane’s metal frame, managing to slide the deadbolt into place. He pulls on the handle a couple times, making sure it's fully secure, before turning to you with a proud smile. “There, that should do it. He follows you out back, the other three members of the usual group lounging in the cab of the truck. IV was the first to notice you, perking up in his seat when his eyes landed on your approaching form. He nudges II, who looks up immediately from the book he was reading at the mention of your name.
“Where's your costume?” III asks in mock annoyance. He hops down from his place situated in the bed of the truck, his long strides allowing him to approach you quickly and pull you into his arms. He pulls back slightly, his blue eyes finding yours and making you freeze under their warm gaze. “Promise me I'll get you to myself for at least a little while tonight.” You could hear the smile he was wearing under his mask lace it's way through his words. Before you had a chance to respond the passenger door of the truck was kicked open, IV practically falling to the ground as he scrambled out. Your eyes darted up to three, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he gazed down at you. He gives you a quick wink before he steps back, satisfied with your flustered state.
IV bounds up to you, excitedly taking your hands in his. “I can't wait to see your costume.” You jump slightly as a warm hand if placed against your lower back, you caught the sight of II in your peripheral.
“Well we have to let her go get changed into it first.” He chuckles. “It's good to see you, love.”
“Come on guys.” You chuckle, motioning for the four of them to follow you. “You can hang out upstairs while I get ready.”
It always made your heart swell every time they were all together in one place. The warm, me jovial energy that filled your apartment had you practically skipping to your room to get changed. You could hear the four of them continue to talk in the living room, just quiet enough to make it so you couldn't hear. You opened your closet, pulling out the neatly packaged bag that contained your costume. You shimmied into the tight dress, the stretchy fabric hugging all of your curves just right. Was this the most original costume in the world? Absolutely not. But, considering you were hoping to catch the attention of some masked men in particular this evening, you figured it wouldn't hurt to be a little cliche. You did your makeup as quickly as you could, a dark smokey eye that was finished off by you drawing a little black nose at the tip of your own with eyeliner. You grabbed the headband from your vanity, adjusting it perfectly atop your head before giving yourself one final once over in the mirror and heading back out to your waiting guests. The room fell silent the second you stepped through your door, four pairs of eyes locked on your small form. All of the sudden attention made you feel self conscious about your costume choice, maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. You wrapped your arms around your torso, your cheeks warming as you looked between the four. “Does it look ba-”
You didn't have a chance to finish your question before they were all scrambling out of their various seats towards you. All of them reassuring you that you looked fantastic and apologizing for staring. Your small group prepared to head out, III hung back to wait for you, his monstrous form taking up most of the doorway. You smile up at him as you straighten up from pulling on your shoes. “You look beautiful.” He compliments you softly, making your cheeks warm.
“Thank you.” He slips his hands into yours, his lips warm through his mask as he places a soft kiss to your knuckles.
“Ready to get going?” You nod, letting your hand reluctantly fall from his.
You piled into their truck, you were currently squished in between Vessel and II, III and IV curled up in the bed. “So, you're all excited about this festival, what are we even going to be doing?” Vessel asks suddenly, breaking the silence in the truck.
“Well,” you start, “there's going to be a lot of food, hay rides, a costume contest, lots of vendors from around the town, a few rides, a haunted house. It's nothing spectacular, but I’m hoping it will make you guys feel more at home here.” You noticed him and II exchange a look over your head. It wasn't long before you pulled into the bumpy dirt parking lot of the fair grounds. III vaulted out of the truck, his heavy boots landing on the ground with a loud thud. You notice II shove him back slightly as he holds out his hand to help you out of the truck. He gives your hand a soft squeeze before dropping it, you were quickly surrounded by the four men, all of you chatting happily as you made your way up to the festival. The four froze, taking in the chaotic sight before then. IV reached out, slipping his hand into yours.
“There's a lot of people, huh?” He asks, startling back slightly as a child rushes past his legs.
“The whole town’s probably going to show up.” You explain. You lean on closer to him, “you alright big guy? We can always turn around and go back to my place if this is too much.” You squeeze his hand reassuringly.
“I think I can handle it if you're by my side.” You noticed his features soften as he smiles under his mask. Your cheeks warm, your eyes darting to the ground in an attempt to try and hide your flustered expression.
“Where should we start?” III slips an arm around your shoulder, you instinctually lean into his side.
“You're the expert, love, lead the way.” Vessel shoots you a sharp grin. The group stayed close to your side, forming a buffer between you and the rest of the crowd. You wandered from booth to booth, letting the boy's childlike wonder take over as they excitedly showed you small trinkets and hand made gifts they stumbled across. The booth of old ladies selling goat milk soap cooed over how adorable all your costumes were, slipping sweets into all your hands as you made your way out. You paused in front of a vendor selling handmade jewelry, you jumped slightly as a hand came to rest on your waist.
“That would look very pretty on you.” II’s gentle voice meets your ears.
“You think so?” You ask through a flustered giggle. II asked to see the necklace in question, the beautifully wire wrapped crystal sparkling in the gradually setting sun. “It is really pretty.”
“How much?” He asks without hesitation. The young woman running the stand told him the price, to which II shocked you by immediately purchasing the necklace. He steps behind you, your hand raising to the unfamiliar weight as it falls around your neck. “A beautiful necklace for the most beautiful woman in the world.” His warm breath bounces off your cheek as he speaks, sending a shiver down your spine. You glance over your shoulder, your eyes immediately finding his bright blue ones.
“You know you didn't have to buy me anything.” You see the corners of his eyes crinkle as he smiles.
“What if I wanted to?” You didn't miss the teasing tone that had laced its way into his words. You traced a finger along the cool metal wire, fully turning yourself to face him. You glance up at him through your lashes, struggling to find the right words to say to thank him. You pushed yourself up onto your toes, quickly pressing a kiss to his cheek.
“Well, I think that’s very sweet. Thank you, II.” You perk up at the sound of one of the others calling your name, III appearing at your side and slipping his hand into yours.
“Mind if I steal her from you?” He quickly asks II.
“Not at all.” He holds up his hands with a soft chuckle. “I'm sure I'll manage to snag her back later.” He winks at you, making your cheeks grow warm.
“What a shame,” III leans down to murmur quietly in your ear, “looks like I'm going to have to beat them off with a stick to get you to myself.”
“Careful, you're all going to make me think you have a crush on me or something.” You tease in response, shooting him a playful smile of your own.
“Only a pretty little thing like you could handle something like that.” He winks. “I want to make sure you eat before IV gets over excited and drags you off to the rides.” He jokes with a smile. He tucks you safely into his side, helping you avoid the bustling crowd that surrounded you.
“Are you having a good time?” You ask him softly. He glances down at you, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiles.
“Yeah, I’m spending time with you, of course I’m having a good time.” You let out a bashful giggle, quickly turning away as you feel your cheeks grow warm.
As the evening carried on you couldn't help but notice II grow more fidgety with every passing hour, occasionally leaning into Vessel to whisper something only for the taller man to clap him on the shoulder and give him a reassuring grin. You were currently sat in a circle on the ground, finding a nice place in the open field to settle down and have some good together. You laughed as IV expertly stole a bite of your corn dog faster than you could comprehend what had happened. “What's your favorite ride?” II suddenly chimes in from his position sitting across from you.
“I'm personally a big fan of the haunted house, I think all the cheap jump scares are fun.” You respond with a laugh.
IV makes an intrigued noise. “We should all go on!”
“Only two people can ride together, unfortunately.”
“Well, how about you ride with me then?” II winks at you, making you blush.
“If you think you can handle it.” You tease in response. II stands, offering you his hand which you eagerly accept. He hoists you from the ground, pulling you into his side and slinging his arm across your shoulders. Vessel tagged along with IV, knowing it would be the only way to stop him from complaining about how he wanted to go too, III elected to stay back to save your spot. You all chatted happily as you stood in line, the slow creeping pace allowing them to see a little of what the ride had in store for them.
Brown metal buggies horribly painted to look like wood creaked along the track, bat shaped hood ornaments were barely recognizable after years of dings and chipped paint.A repeating track of over dramatic screams and ghoulish moaning looped from the speakers. “Next in line, please!” The ticket collector barked, IV and Vessel stepped up first, IV practically vibrating with excitement as he waited for the all clear to get on. II’s arm slid around your waist as you stepped forward, waiting patiently for the next cart to wheel itself into place. “Y’all have fun.” He waves you on. II helps you step into the cart, your body thudding against the thin, leather covered padding on the seat.
“You’re not going to get all scared on me now, are you?” You ask in a playful tone.
“Oh, don’t worry sweetheart, I’ll be right here to protect you.” He returns with a smirk. Your body lurched slightly as the buggy started to move. You were hit with a blast of cold air as you crept into the dark space, II’s arm wrapping around your shoulders, you found yourself instinctually snuggling into his side. You jumped slightly, giggling over being startled by the second air cannon you had rolled past.
You rolled past a growling werewolf, “Look, you can see the wires.” You nudge him slightly, pointing upwards.
“I personally think it adds to the experience.” He chuckles, you can’t help but laugh yourself. “You’re so beautiful.” You feel your breath freeze in your lungs at his compliment. You clung to him as something shot out of the darkness at you, it took you a moment to recognize the plastic skeleton’s limbs rattling at you. Your eyes are drawn back to him as you feel a warm hand slip over your cheek. “And you thought I was going to be the one getting scared.” He chuckles, his eyes flashing briefly to your lips. “Cute.” He fidgets with the edge of his mask for a moment, stretching the black fabric away from his neck. “Can- can I, um…” He swallows thickly, his confidence immediately crumbling as you continue to cling to him for comfort. “Can I kiss you?” You nodded, your wide eyes glimmering in the dim light. Without hesitation II lifts his mask, his lips slotting perfectly against your own. Your hand slides over his chest, you could feel his heart pounding under your palm. As quickly as the kiss had started it was over, II’s mask already neatly back in place by the time your eyes fluttered open. You hide your face against his neck, hoping he hadn’t noticed your flustered appearance. “That was nice.” He suddenly chimes in, making you giggle. You both reluctantly shuffle away from each other as the exit opens in front of you, squinting under the bright lights. II offers you his hand to help you from the cart, your eyes meeting his as he smiles. Your pinky wraps around his as he lets his hand slip out of your grasp. You hear him laugh softly at your actions, allowing your fingers to stay linked.
“That wasn’t even scary.” IV groans as you approach.
“I never said it was scary, I just said I liked it.” You respond. Vessel smiles down at you.
“How was riding with II?” He asks with a chuckle. Your cheeks immediately warm at the question.
“We had fun.” You get out through a nervous giggle.
“Well, look who’s back.” You can’t help but smile at III’s cheerful tone. He hoists himself up from his position on the ground with a soft groan. “How was it beautiful?” Your eyes trailed after the people that were starting to gather in the open field.
“It was fun.” You felt a pang of guilt in your chest as you thought about kissing II. “See anything interesting while we were gone?”
“There’s a pretty good band playing over there.” He nods somewhere behind you. “Want to go check it out?”
“Sure.” You can’t help but smile as you feel the warmth of III’s hand brush against yours. The two of you lazily strolled in the direction of the music that floated through the air. A local folk group was currently performing under a gazebo, a small dance floor set up in front of the stage. You laughed as III took your hand and spun you around in time with the music, pulling you to him and swaying you in his arms.
“Do you know how to dance?” He asks with a grin.
“Not very well,” you giggle in response, “but I feel like with you that won’t matter too much.” You found yourself easily falling into a rhythm with him, every small misstep and teasing comment from him made you both crumble into fits of laughter. You both paused, looking up at the sky with the rest of the crowd as fireworks started going off overhead. III continues to hold you close, your arms sliding over his shoulders as the two of you watch the display. He fully encircles your waist with one arm, his hand sliding over your cheek, turning your face in order for his warm lips to find yours. Unlike the kiss with II, III took his time letting the sensation of kissing you sink in. You felt so small in his arms, the gentle dominance he had over the kiss allowing your body to fully relax into his embrace as your eyes fluttered shut. He traces a thumb along your jaw before hesitantly pulling away.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself.” He rushes to apologize, his body relaxing at the sight of the soft smile that had laced its way across your lips. Your eyes meet his, bright blue irises scanned your features with an adoration you had never seen. “I really like you.”
“III-”
“There you guys are!” He jolts back from you, the sudden lack of warmth making you shiver. “We’ve been looking all over the place for you!” It was IV, he jogged up to you. “Vessel wants to get going.”
You found yourself in the cab of the truck between Vessel and IV, II and III electing to sit in the bed for the ride back to your place. Your mind raced as you played over both men kissing you over and over again in your head. You didn’t know what to do. On one hand there was II, his silent charm and the undeniable intimacy the two of you have has drawn you in from the beginning. But then there was III, who made your heart race and dominated every aspect of your senses whenever you were with him. Who, despite his monstrous size, was always so gentle with you. You were absolutely torn. You rumbled into the store’s parking lot, Vessel parking the truck around back. You stood at the bottom of your stairs in a small circle. “Well, I hate to admit it, but that was pretty fun.” Vessel grins at you, there were murmurs of agreement amongst the group.
“Do you guys want to come up for a bit? There’s, um, there’s kind of something I need to talk to you about.” You fidget with your hands as you nervously put the statement out there. You were going to deal with feeling conflicted the only way you knew how, by facing the problem head on.

This is sort of a long and specific request but I just have this idea of an ansty fic idea for pazzi or reader.
azzi gets her wisdom teeth out and she’s like all loopy and when paige takes her home, they are all cuddled up. Azzi talks about the love of her life in third person and paige doesn’t realize it’s her until she does… but basically she’s like heartbroken until then.
loopy in love [pazzi]

“Make sure she takes acetaminophen or ibuprofen if she feels any pain,” the nurse instructed. “She can also sleep with an extra pillow tonight to support her neck and help circulate blood flow.”
“Alright, thank you. I’ll keep all that in mind,” Paige said gratefully. She looked over at Azzi, who was slumped in the chair. Her eyes were dazed and her cheeks swollen with numbing from anesthesia, but Paige’s heart warmed. Azzi had never looked cuter, she thought.
“I understand you guys are basketball players?” The nurse looked up from her clipboard of sheets with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah. How long is she out for?”
“No strenuous activities for at least three days, and definitely no cardio for five. We don’t want any rebound swelling or bleeding,” the nurse explained. “Other than that, you just need to sign her release form, and then you guys are good to go.”
Paige nodded, accepting the paper the nurse handed her and starting to work her way down the page. The nurse walked over to Azzi. “Make sure to keep biting on the gauze, okay hon? Your girlfriend can help you replace it with a fresh one every 20 minutes.”
Paige’s head snapped up from reading the fine print. “Oh, uh, we’re not dating.”
The nurse looked taken aback. “Oh! I’m so sorry! I just assumed…” she stared uncomfortably between the two of them. Paige flushed, knowing that the way they’d entered the office a few hours earlier hadn’t exactly looked very friendly. Paige’s hands had been wrapped around Azzi’s waist as she’d whispered reassurances in her ear.
“No, it’s okay.” Paige scratched the back of neck. “We kinda get that a lot.”
The nurse nodded awkwardly before hurriedly making an excuse to leave the room. Azzi wrinkled her nose, eyes following her out. “Did she think I had a girlfriend?” she slurred.
“She thought we were dating,” Paige breathed out a laugh as she signed the form.
“Ew!” Azzi gagged on her saliva. “I’m sorry, but we could never be together.”
“Geez,” Paige muttered, trying not to let the younger girl’s words sting too much. “I didn’t think I was that that revolting.” Paige turned the form into the receptionist before helping Azzi out of her chair. “Up we go,” she said softly. Azzi stumbled, but tightened her grip on the blonde’s arm to keep steady.
In the car, Azzi stared moodily out the window. Paige chuckled; she’d expected for the anesthesia to make Azzi more quiet and subdued, even though a part of her had wanted a loopy and crazy Azzi to laugh at. “You okay?” she asked.
Azzi started sniffling, and that’s when big tears started rolling down her cheeks.
“Woah.” Paige almost braked the car. “Hey, Az, what’s up?”
“I miss her!” Azzi cried out, folding her arms like a grumpy toddler. “Everything hurts and I can’t feel my tongue and there’s blood and I just want her.”
Paige’s heart sunk. She knew she should be supporting Azzi right now, who was so out of it from the drugs, but she couldn’t help but welcome back the burn of jealousy she’d gotten so familiar with the past few years. Pining over your best friend in secret was not an easy thing, but it was something Paige had become awfully good at.
“Miss who, babe?” Paige asked gently. “I can call whoever you need.”
Azzi dramatically threw her head in her hands. “Nooooo!” she wailed. “You can’t. Or else she’ll know.”
Paige bit her lip. “Know what?”
“That I’m in love with her!”
Paige sucked in a breath. Lately Azzi had been acting distant, coming back to their apartment late at night and making excuses for missing their movie nights. Paige had had a creeping suspicion that Azzi was talking to someone new, had been spending her hours with a new girl or guy she’d met. She’d tried to respect it - she knew Azzi would come to her and tell her if the relationship ever evolved into something serious. She always did. And now here Azzi was, confessing in her stupefied state.
“You’re in love with someone?”
Azzi leaned her head gloomily against the window. “You don’t understand, Paige.”
Paige hesitated. “I understand. I’ve been in love before.”
“No,” Azzi insisted. “You don’t. You don’t understand.”
Paige laid her hand over Azzi’s in an attempt to pacify her. “It’s okay, Az,” she soothed. “We don’t have to talk about this right now. Let’s just get you home first, yeah?”
Azzi snatched her hand away. “Of course you don’t wanna talk about it,” she grumbled, shifting in her seat to move further from Paige.
Once they reached their apartment, Azzi seemed to be in a slightly better mood. “I’m hungry!” she exclaimed as soon as the door closed behind them, immediately making a beeline for the kitchen.
“Uh uh,” Paige denied, running so she could stand between Azzi and the cabinets. “You’re not allowed to eat anything for a few hours.”
Azzi pouted, her bottom lip sticking out. “Pleaseeeeeee?” she whined.
Paige stifled a laugh at how adorable the younger girl was being. “I’m sorry, but no,” she said firmly.
“Ugh!” Azzi aggressively brushed past Paige, knocking her shoulder as she stormed out of the kitchen. “You hate me.”
“Quite the opposite.” Paige followed Azzi as she flopped angrily down on the armchair. “Stay here, alright? Imma go get some pillows and blankets for you and we can watch a movie?”
Azzi didn’t respond, staring grumpily at the dark TV. Paige rushed to gather the softest and biggest blankets she could find. She cursed at herself for not setting up the couch earlier. Now Azzi had to sit there waiting for her. Once she got everything, she threw it on the couch and tried to make it the most comfortable, padded blanket and pillow ridden couch in the history of all couches. “Come on Azzi,” she encouraged in a sing song voice. “Sit on the couch. It’s super comfy.” She patted the couch.
“Will she be there?” Azzi asked hopefully.
“Be where?” Paige’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“On the couch. With me.”
The blonde rolled her eyes, trying to hold in her exasperation but failing mightily. “Are you talking about that girl again?”
“Yes,” Azzi breathed out dreamily. “I think she’s it. She’s the one for me. I can’t stop thinking about her. Even before the surgery she was the last thing on my mind.”
Azzi sounded way too detailed right now to be talking randomly from being hopped up on drugs, which finally confirmed Paige’s suspicions. There had to be an actual girl that Azzi was talking about. She made a note to ask about it later, when the anesthesia wore off. Azzi had never spoken about anyone like this before, so this girl must be a big deal. A hot shot, Paige thought moodily to herself. But she’d support Azzi, like she always did whenever she started something new with someone. Don’t let her know, Paige reminded herself.
“So? Did you call her?” When Paige didn’t respond, too lost in her thoughts, Azzi’s bottom lip started to tremble. “You said you would!” Paige rushed to her, rubbing her back in the way she knew the dark haired girl liked.
“I don’t have her number, Az,” she said gently. “I’m sure we can get her to come over later, though.”
“She’s so pretty and she’s so kind,” Azzi said, now sobbing again. “I just want her here. Everything is always better when I’m with her.” She leaned into Paige’s embrace.
“Come on, Az, let’s sit on the couch, alright? Let’s put on a movie and you can try to sleep the anesthesia off,” Paige prodded. At last, Azzi got up from the armchair and sat reluctantly on the couch. Paige grabbed a blanket and wrapped it tightly around the younger girl. She made sure to stuff extra pillows under Azzi’s neck. “Comfy?”
Azzi nodded. Her tears weren’t flowing as heavily anymore, which Paige took as a good sign. “What do you wanna watch?”
Azzi perked up. “Cinderella.”
“Cinderella? When did you get into Disney?” Paige laughed, but she put it on.
Azzi nestled into Paige’s chest. “Cinderella looks like her,” she sighed happily. “Which is why I like it.”
Paige’s heart started beating rapidly. “What does she look like?” she asked slowly.
“She’s blonde. Has the bluest eyes ever,” Azzi murmured. “And she’s sooo good at basketball. You would love her.”
Paige bit the inside of her cheek. Was this really happening? There was no way this girl Azzi was speaking of was her. She felt excitement rush through her, but she tried to tamp it down. She wasn’t the only blonde, blue-eyed basketball player in the world. Feeling slightly guilty that she was interrogating her best friend in this state, she asked, “What’s her name, Azzi?”
Azzi inserted her leg between Paige’s so that their bodies were now intertwined. “Why does it matter?” she muttered, her words muffled by Paige’s shirt.
Paige softly traced the parts in Azzi’s hair with her finger. “I’m just curious, babe.”
Azzi yawned, sleepiness taking over her. “I can tell you later. If you want. Maybe.”
“Oh, we are so talking about this later,” Paige said under her breath. But for now, she continued playing with Azzi’s hair as Cinderella played in the background, lulling the girl to sleep.

i lied
The air is sweet between you, tender, though there’s a homesickness to it that neither of you can shake.  “Do you think we were doomed from the start?” You ask Peter as you continue to look up at the stars. You can’t take your eyes off of them. They’ve finally decided to spare you their beauty, their final dance just for you and Peter.  You feel him shrug. You’re both drunk and open and vulnerable.
Summary: you and peter were drunk when you first fell in love at the edge of a rooftop. it was always going to end this way.
Rating: mature, slight cursing, suggestive themes but no real smut
Warnings: fem!reader, use of y/n, underaged drinking, mentions of burns and scars, reader has boobs
Words: 14k
Before you swing in: who wouldve thought that itd take me over a year to write my first peter fic ?? me ! anyways, here she is and she was inspired by an absolutely evil playlist that my beloved val (@southelroy) made for me specifically to write to. the songs are very sad so pls blame her ! please enjoy, this one is long n bittersweet <3
-
Sticky July air clings to Peter’s skin. The dampness of it leaves everyone else’s skin slick with sweat as their bodies knock against his. Music reverberates the apartment walls and Peter’s senses are going haywire.
He never attends parties for this very reason. They’re an overstimulating nightmare full of people who make him want to scream.
Peter’s skin vibrates uncomfortably as he’s surrounded by a haze of drunken teenagers and sloppy movements. His eardrums sting when a girl next to him screeches something about needing another drink. The back of his fingers burn when said girl drops her new drink and he finds himself catching it before it can spill.
“Woah,” the girl giggles, breath reeking of alcohol as she presses against Peter and paws at the drink he’s saved. “My hero.”
All Peter offers her is a tight lipped smile. The flashing of the lights are making him nauseous and he really doesn’t understand why he allowed Ned to drag him here tonight. He hands the girl her drink and shoves his way through the crowd, anxious to find his friend before he has a complete meltdown.
In the time it takes to find Ned, the guy is already incredibly drunk, and Peter has to take several deep breaths to calm himself down.
“I thought you said you wouldn’t drink tonight,” is all he says to Ned, ducking his head down so that he can be heard over the music.
Ned’s head almost knocks into Peter’s and he gives him a wide, messy smile that matches his glassy eyes and slurred speech. “Peter! What’re you doin’ here?”
“You dragged me here, remember?”
“No way!” Ned laughs gleefully, as if this is all some silly instance that warrants amusement. “That’s-that’s crazy, man. You’re like. Super strong! How’d I drag you?”
Peter runs a frustrated hand through his hair. “By guilt tripping me with us going to different schools soon, Ned. You made a whole deal about it.”
“Wait,” Ned’s eyes widen. “We’re goin’ to different schools?”
“Alright, that’s it.” Peter grabs the teen’s shoulders and forces him to look in his eyes. He knows that whatever he’s going to say to Ned will be long forgotten tomorrow, but he doesn’t care. “We’re going home. This is stupid–”
“Peter!” Ned groans his name, long and child-like. He would stomp his foot if he could, but in his drunken state all he can manage is a slight wobbly step and pout. “We jus’ got here. Loosen up! Someone brought this yummy pink flavored drink and it’s–” he hiccups, startling himself, before continuing with his ramble. “It’s really good.”
“I don’t want to drink anything that’s ‘pink’ flavored.” Peter tries to push Ned through the crowd and out the front door, but the tiny apartment is overflowing with people and it’s damn near impossible to even take a step.
Cursing under his breath, Peter looks around wearily. “This is definitely a fire hazard.”
“The obscene amount of alcohol or the sheer volume of people?” A voice from behind him says. “Either way, this apartment is definitely a fire hazard.”
Peter spins around, heart beating in his chest. For years now he’s relied on his senses to tell him where everyone is around him, but now, as he stands in front of a girl he’s never seen before, he’s disarmed.
“Then again, it seems unfair to disqualify the fact that this building is in no way up to the city’s fire code. I mean, did you see the broken sprinkler system in the hallway?” In your hand is a bright blue solo cup, its color vibrant against the dark. You bring it to your lips, eyes never leaving Peter’s, and smile from above the brim as you drink.
You’re waiting for him to say something, Peter realizes.
“I, uh. Didn’t.” He breathes out, overwhelmed already with your presence. You’re standing really close to him now, almost as if you recognize him by the way you’re so familiar with his space, yet Peter is sure he would remember a face like yours in every lifetime he came across it.
“Not a man of words, are you?” You say, stepping even closer to him.
Peter swallows heavily. His heart is racing and he forgets that he’s supposed to be taking Ned home. Distantly he wonders where his friend has slipped away to, but for now, with you in front of him, all Peter can think about is how strongly the scent of your perfume invades his senses in a dizzying manner.
“I–” He can’t breathe. You’re so close and there are bodies everywhere and Peter is convinced that this is some type of purgatory because he’s in hell where your face resembles an angel that the gospels wail over.
“It’s okay,” you step even closer to Peter, and now he can smell the woody undertones of your perfume. He has to stop himself from inhaling too deeply. “I can do all the talking for us. I’m Y/N, and no, I don’t come here often. This is my first time, actually.”
“I-I’m Peter,” he manages to laugh, small and amused as he unravels before you. “Do people really use that line on you?”
“Hello, Peter.” You smile even wider saying his name. “And you’d be surprised. It’s awful, so I figured I’d spare you the embarrassment.”
“Seems you’ve saved me, then.” Peter isn’t sure where this comes from or why talking to you puts him at ease. Your voice almost seems to dull the roar in his head.
He can’t get enough of it.
“Why don’t you repay me by getting me another drink?” This close, Peter can see flecks of glitter that line your eyelids. The movement of light behind you rains incandescent blues and reds across them.
“Well?” You tilt your head at him, expecting an answer, and he knows he’s already lost.
Peter’s hand lands on your waist. The flesh there is exposed, your shirt having ridden up slightly during your conversation. You’re warm, soft. Peter can’t help but squeeze the skin beneath his fingers and when you shiver, his heartbeat finally settles.
“Let’s get you that drink.”
–
Peter has spent a lot of time on rooftops. It’s a part of the job description, hanging around the tops of deserted buildings as he patrols. Senses on high alert. Waiting for a scream or a lonely passerby to trail home and ensure they remain safe.
On every rooftop Peter has been on, he’s always felt a sense of unease. Even with his webbing and ability to stick to surfaces, he’s never been able to get past the feeling that one day he will slip and there won’t be anything to catch him. He would simply fall; there wouldn’t be anything he could do to save himself.
Yet tonight, drunk and infatuated with you, Peter is on a rooftop dangling over the edge with a security he’s never felt before.
“God, I hate rich people.”
Peter’s head turns to you, his movements slow and messy. He’s lost count of how many drinks you’ve both had. “Why’s that?”
Your hands motion towards the sky, your movements also uncontrolled and childish. “The stars, dude. They’re all gone and it’s all their fault.”
Peter laughs, looking up as he lays on the ground with you next to him. Originally the plan had been to sneak up onto the rooftop and lay down together and stargaze. In your drunken states, it had seemed like a brilliant idea at the time. Romantic, even.
Both of you forgot that you live in New York and that the stars always remain hidden behind clouds and smoke.
“I don’t think they deserve all the credit,” Peter lazily responds. The July heat makes the night air thick and warm, but the alcohol in his system makes everything more tolerable. Especially with you next to him. “I mean, didn’t society doom the stars from the start?”
“That sounds very philosophical,” your head lands on his chest, and he curls into you. “And normally I love philosophical-ness, but I’m drunk and you smell good and it’s making my head all fuzzy.”
“Fuzzy?”
“Fuzzy.” You’re giggling now and Peter finds himself giggling with you.
One of your hands rests against your chest and Peter reaches for it, the itch of being closer to you driving him insane. His fingers interlock through yours and your palm is flush against his and Peter thinks his hands were made to hold yours.
You hum at the contact, moving your body against his. You link one of your legs over Peter’s and angle your body so that you’re practically laying on him and his heart thumps every time you move.
“‘Doomed from the start’,” you murmur Peter’s earlier words, lips dragging across his t-shirt. “Think everythin’ is like that?”
The numbness of the alcohol suddenly wears off. Peter stiffens slightly at your question and every cell in his body constricts. The reaction far exceeds the question, he knows this, but he’s reminded of everything he was trying to forget tonight.
In a lot of ways, Peter does think his life was doomed from the start. The loss he’s experienced, responsibility he never asked for, an entire city to look after. All before the age of fifteen.
“Peter?”
He doesn’t look at you, and you think he hasn’t even heard your soft questioning. When you first saw him lost in the crowd, it had been his naivety that drew you to him in the first place. How delicate Peter’s face was, the way his eyes seemed to hold lifetimes unbeknownst to anyone.
Now, staring up at him after his body has gone cold from your mindless question, all that you see is a hardness in Peter’s face. Stone-like and secluded. A hurt and loneliness that sculptors yearn to replicate.
“Is everythin’ okay?” Your hand comes up to his face, gently coaxing him to look at you. “Did I lose you over there?”
The tender way you hold his face rattles Peter’s ribcage. He exhales shakily, shyly, and to ease the worry that’s creased your brows, he places a kiss on your palm. “I’m fine… Still here.”
It isn’t enough for you, though. “Did my question offend you?”
“No,” he’s quick to reassure you, kissing your palm once again. “No, ‘course not. Just… caught me by surprise. That's all.”
“Too philosophical?”
The adorable way your eyebrows scrunch in concentration lessens the remaining sting in Peter’s chest. He draws you in, wraps you around him so that he can feel all of you. “Not at all. I don’t think everythin’ is doomed from the start. Do you?”
Your head falls back against his chest. He feels you exhale deeply, yawn, before wrapping your arms tighter around him. “No,” you say sleepily. “I like to think this isn’t doomed.”
Peter pokes your nose. “What isn’t doomed?”
Your smile melts into his bones. It’s mischievous and teasing, holding the vague words to your chest, and you don’t let him in on your secret. Instead, you admire how pretty Peter looks under the moonlight.
“What’re you starin’ at?” He asks you, voice hoarse and quiet.
Your eyes roam the length of his neck, down the angle of his nose, across the moles that line his face and the eyelashes that fan his eyes. They’re a warm, deep brown. Almost black in the dim lighting. Youthful, trusting, yet guarded.
Alcohol blurs your vision and yet you know that Peter is the prettiest boy you’ve ever seen.
“I kinda like your face,” you breathe out, hands coming up to cup his cheek.
Peter leans into the touch with an almost embarrassing air of vulnerability. You’re warm. He forgets what the two of you were even talking about in the first place. “You like my face?”
You hum. “It’s charming. You’re charming.”
His face burns from your words. Something within him screams at him to run, to make up an excuse and leave you and the blurred lines alone. But he can’t. He finds that he doesn’t want to ever leave you alone.
“Handsome,” your breath fans his face now, lips ghosting over the edges of his cheek. “Really handsome.”
Peter doesn’t breathe. He’s worried that if he does, he’ll scare you away.
“I like your face,” your entire body rests on top of his. Your shirt rides up again and Peter has to bite his lip at the urge to grab the exposed skin. You notice this and you press your face against the base of his neck. “It’s a good face.”
“Yeah?” He’s overwhelmed with the possibility of you.
“Can I kiss it?” You ask him sweetly, honeyed and warm. You’ve never kissed anyone before. No one has ever left you wondering how their lips would feel against yours until tonight.
Peter swallows hard. His ribcage threatens to crack open. He’s never kissed anyone either, but he really, really wants to try with you. You’re staring up at him with open and wide eyes and it’s over before it’s even really begun.
He grips the back of your neck and you taste like the sweet strawberry daiquiri he’s poured for you all night. The taste of it emboldens Peter, craving more of it, and his hesitancy morphs into something deeper, darker. He holds your face between his hands and drinks from your lips as you take everything from him.
The kiss is a combination of every contrasting conjunction Peter can think of. Rushed and slow. Soft and hard. The kiss is perfect in a way that only something messy and needy can create.
Your hands find their way under Peter’s shirt, nails scratching the sensitive skin kept hidden. He shivers, kisses you harder, swallowing the laughter that pours from you. The sound of it makes Peter’s head spin. He squeezes your ass, creating a dizzying pressure against his jeans, and soon your teasing laughter turns a breathy moan.
“There you are,” he sighs against your open mouth. He rolls his hips up, hisses when you land right where he needs you. “Stay right there for me, sweetheart.”
You muffle a moan against Peter’s neck, biting at any skin you can reach. “I’ll stay,” you whisper over and over again; a promise that won’t be recognized until it’s broken.
The rest of the night is spent exploring each other’s skin and drawing sweet sounds from parted mouths. In the early morning sunlight, something sacred is formed. When your head lands against Peter’s chest for the final time that night, the finality of it is lighter than the weight of everything else that sits within it.
Neither of you knows who ends up falling asleep first. Peter thinks it was you, he remembers playing with the strands of your hair for a while before his eyelids became too heavy. You swear that it was him, remembering the steady heartbeat beneath you slowing to a quiet rhythm.
Regardless, when the two of you do wake up the next morning, you greet the other with laughter and teasing. There is no awkwardness from the night before; only something delicate.
“Thank you for sacrificing your back for me,” your arms stretch above your head, the muscles pulling taut. Peter can hear something crack and you wince under your breath. “I obviously already have enough back problems as it is.”
“Who said I willingly served as your pillow last night?” Peter tries to fix his hair, though he knows it’s no use. “You could’ve tricked me into it.”
“I’m trying to praise you here, Peter.”
“Horrible mistake on your part.”
You laugh, and the way you do so is still as open and carefree as Peter remembers it being from the night before. His chest warms, everything is so easy with you. Gentle and lovely.
Before he can convince himself not to, Peter grabs your hand and kisses the back of it, and in doing so, he laces his fingers through yours. In the daylight, he sees how pink your cheeks get when you blush.
“C’mon,” he stands up, arms instinctively wrapping around you to help you stand. “I’m sure whoever owns this rooftop will kill us if we stay up here any longer.”
You roll your eyes, though you accept Peter’s help and allow him to guide you back downstairs. “As if Veronica’s landlord even remembers that he owns this building.”
“Veronica?”
You frown at Peter. “Veronica Haynes?” When he shrugs helplessly at you, your frown deepens. “The girl who threw the party? The one we literally attended last night?”
“No idea who she is.” He’s sheepish, desperately hoping that he isn’t insulting a girl who might be your friend. “I-I’m sorry.”
“No need to be sorry, buddy.” You pat Peter’s shoulder sarcastically. “I’m just really confused as to how you even got into the party if you don’t know the host.”
He opens the building’s door, revealing the summer morning heat as the two of you start walking down the block. “My friend Ned invited me. Said he knew a girl who attended Rockefeller High through his AV club who was throwing a party. Guess that was Veronica?”
“AV club,” you snort. “Bringing people together since the dawn of nerds.”
“Hey, I used to be in the AV club.”
“And my point still stands.”
Peter shoves you lightly, causing you to stumble into him, and he laughs when you shriek in terror. You whip around to face him, eyes alight, before he holds his hands up in surrender. “Easy, now. I was just defending my honor.”
“You’re lucky you’re cute,” you knock your shoulder against his. “Otherwise we’d have some serious problems.”
Peter sticks his tongue out at you, throwing an arm over your shoulders and pulling you close. He’s sure May is expecting him home soon, but he doesn’t want to say goodbye to you.
“So,” Peter says, kissing the top of your head. “Where am I taking you?”
“Ideally? France. Realistically? Home.”
“Home I can do,” he sways your bodies side to side, zigzagging across the sidewalk playfully. He tries to ignore the disappointment of walking you home. “I’ll need an address though, sweetheart.”
Even though Peter is a stranger with a last name that is unknown to you, you tell him where you live. He walks with you the entire eight blocks. Not once are either of you quiet. Reminiscent of the night before, you talk about everything and nothing as his arms remain around you.
Peter asks about where you went to school, how Rockefeller compared to Midtown. You ask him what his favorite word is, if he’s ever regretted a haircut that he couldn’t hide. The two of you gossip about shared classmates and the colleges they’ve chosen, and inevitably you realize that come fall, you’ll both be attending Empire State University.
“Guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other, then.” You’re at your apartment building now, though you linger, not wanting to let go of Peter just yet.
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” He raises an eyebrow at you, not wanting to let go of you, either.
“Never said it was.”
Peter smirks at you. “Then I’ll see you tomorrow?”
Your nose brushes his before you kiss him. Unlike last night, this time he tastes slightly salty, earthy. His lips are chapped, rough around the edges, and you can’t get enough of it. But you have to leave, soon your mom will be wondering where you are.
You finally pull away, lips tingling. “I’ll be waiting.”
Peter smiles wide, and unable to help it, you kiss him one more time, then two more, then three, before you’re lost in it all over again.
“Just…” Pulling away again, you look at Peter and find the hesitancy in his eyes has returned. “Don’t make me wait too long, okay?
But almost as if you’ve imagined it, the hesitancy is gone. Instead, Peter smiles wide at you. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
–
When Peter first revealed to May that he’d been accepted to every college he applied to, she hugged him tightly and rambled about how proud she was for five straight minutes.
Then, when he told her that he’d be choosing Empire State over MIT in order to continue being Spider-Man, May hit the back of his head.
“Patrolling every night while balancing chem labs and papers?” She had laughed right in Peter’s face. “You’ll be wishing you were dead before the first semester even ends.”
Unfortunately, as usual, May had been right.
“Drink up,” a steaming mug gets placed in front of Peter. Its warmth seeps into the air and tickles his face, lazily coaxing his exhausted eyes to open.
You wink playfully at him when you see that he’s finally opened his eyes. Setting down your own mug, you join Peter at the kitchen table. “Good morning, sleeping beauty.”
“Guessing I fell asleep at the table again?” Peter rubs his eyes, yawning. He isn’t surprised that you’ve let yourself into his dorm. He gave you a key the same day you gave him his.
After spending the night on the rooftop in July, the two of you became inseparable. Dinner excursions, museum hopping, movie nights at your apartment, anything to stay together in the wonderfully intoxicating world you built together.
Nothing changed when school began. If anything, the close proximity to one another and shared classes only made the two of you more unbearable. You joined the same clubs, befriended the same classmates, and now spend every waking second with the other.
“Found you face down when I walked in, so.” You laugh at him, flicking his ear. “We’ve been in school for a month and you’re already falling apart.”
“Don’t remind me.” Peter drops his head back down onto the table. Peter’s roommate, Jude, is out of town for fall break, so at least he was spared the embarrassment of anyone else seeing him like this. “I just wanted to finish my lab report.”
“And did you?”
“No.”
Though he really did mean to get work done last night. Peter had gotten back from patrol early specifically so he could at least format the report. Instead, his exhaustion won in the end. Again. For the fifth time this week.
Peter should really start listening to May.
Your fingers tangle in his hair. “Poor baby,” scratching his scalp, you slowly begin to massage the tense skin. “If only you came to my dorm instead like I so graciously offered.”
“Y/N.” Peter tries to sound stern, but he finds himself sighing into your touch. Your words leak into his bones. He doesn’t want to give them a response, knowing that if he does, then he’ll spend the rest of the morning in bed with you.
“All I’m saying Peter is that you could’ve spent a sleepless night with me instead of orgo.”
“I told you I couldn’t,” he winces, turning his head to look at you. “I’m convinced my professor is trying to kill me with this report.”
Which isn’t a total lie. He really does think he’s going to die at the hands of organic chemistry one way or another, but truthfully the reason Peter turned you down was because he had to patrol.
You hum, stroking his cheek. “I’d admire your devotion to academia if it wasn’t so pathetic.”
“Finding me passed out on the kitchen table is a turn off?”
“Utterly so, lovely.”
Peter’s cheeks burn deeply at the pet name. You started using it the second week of sleeping together, whispering it against his ear so softly that he wasn’t sure he had heard you at first. As if he wouldn't be able to hear you over everything.
You aren’t together. At least, not really. Sure, Peter spends most nights with you on his tongue, but he doesn’t stay. The moment he’s done, the moment you pull apart, he kisses your forehead goodbye and is patrolling thirty minutes later. He doesn’t tell you where he goes, and you don’t ask.
The space Peter places between you in his life and Spider-Man is deliberate. It’s how it has to be. Even if neither of you are willing to talk about it.
“I’ll make it up to you later,” he grabs your hand and kisses it, silently apologizing for the lies you’re unaware of. “Scout’s honor.”
“Please don’t reference the Boy Scouts while flirting with me.”
Peter laughs and it’s the first time he’s done so since leaving your dorm yesterday afternoon. He tries not to think about how he only ever seems to smile these days because of you. Everything is easier, lighter, with you.
After finishing your coffee, Peter helps you make breakfast. There isn’t much in his fridge, always inexplicably empty, but it’s become a sort of tradition between you. Quiet mornings at Peter’s dorm, using Jude’s coffee machine and toaster to make misshapen eggs and toast. The two of you work smoothly around the other, working together without saying anything. Synched and harmonious in a way only old habits can create.
“Gwen asked about you again yesterday,” you say, cracking an egg onto the pan Peter has already warmed up. “Says she expects you to be at her party tonight.”
“Is that so?” Peter hums, not really paying attention as he grabs his own egg to crack.
“Yup.” Hot oil bubbles and move your hand quickly away. “I think she has a small crush on you.”
Peter looks at you, unsure how to gauge what you’ve just said. He finds that you aren’t even looking at him as you say this. Instead your gaze is focused on the eggs, watching to make sure they don’t burn. Your expression is cool, body relaxed.
“Oh.” He stupidly says. It’s all he can come up with.
It’s not like Peter didn’t suspect Gwen’s feelings for him. He met her through his physics lecture and thought she was interesting enough. Similar to you with cunning eyes and a quick mouth. He had invited her out to coffee with you after class, figuring the two of you would get along, but the tension that followed told Peter that he had made a grave mistake.
“You sound like I’m holding you at gunpoint, Peter.” You hit your hip against his, laughing. “Relax. I think it’s cute that she thinks has a chance.”
Peter nearly drops the egg he’s holding, making a pathetic squeaking sound when he scrambles to save it. You watch his reaction with interest in your eyes, lips turn upwards in amusement.
He coughs, hitting his chest to try and dispel everything unspoken that gets stuck in his sternum. “She-uh. She doesn’t?”
You brush your hair over your shoulder, perfume invading Peter’s senses. Neck exposed, you tilt your head to the side and stare up at him. Eyes dark and wanting, Peter’s body draws to you without being commanded to.
When you have him right where you want him, head dangling down to try and kiss you, you whisper. “She doesn’t stand a chance, Peter Parker. Want to know how I know?”
He shivers. “Yes.” Voice weak and wanting.
You lean in close, lips poised to his ear as if about to tell him a secret, before suddenly the warmth of you is gone. Peter is left grasping at air, and you’re across from him once again, giggling at what you’ve done. Cheeks flushed, pleased with yourself, you go turn the stove’s burner off and grab a plate for you and him to share.
“That wasn’t funny, sweetheart.” Peter complains, helping you set the table.
“You’re right.” Setting down the plate, you hand him a fork and sit. “It wasn’t funny. It was hilarious.”
Peter throws a napkin at you and you erupt into giggles again. He sits down next to you and nudges his fork against yours. You retaliate, stealing the piece of egg he’d been trying to get. It goes on like this for a while, eating together and sharing the small plate that has become a battle ground.
“Do you really think Gwen doesn’t stand a chance?” Peter asks you, shoving the final bite of food towards you. He isn’t sure why he’s brought the conversation back up, or if he even wants to know your answer.
Yet, as you always do, you answer him with a quick thought and clever smile. All you ever seem to do is leave Peter standing at the edge of a cliff, holding his breath, anticipating a fall.
“Lovely, orgo is going to kill you before she can ever sink her claws into you.”
It isn’t the answer Peter is expecting. There’s a slight sense of disappointment, but it gets masked behind his amusement as he snorts at what you’ve said.
“Don’t jinx it, please.” Peter kisses your forehead, getting up from the table to start the dishes. “I’ve grown rather fond of annoying you.”
“I think you’ve just grown fond of me.” You murmur, catching his hand before he can walk away. Your touch burns his skin, the hidden meaning behind your words chokes him.
You understand Peter in a way that seeps terror into his bones. There are things you don’t know, that you can’t know about him, and yet you seem to always welcome the secrets with a warm embrace. Never questioning them. Never leaving.
It’s this warm embrace that first drew Peter to you. The solace in case he falls. Sometimes he wonders if this acceptance and way of seeing under his skin will hurt you in the end.
“I’ll wash, you dry?” You spare Peter the trouble of admitting anything to you, grabbing the plate from him and turning the faucet on.
Your face is neutral, content. As if you haven’t just toed the line. Hands under soapy water, you hum to yourself, the acknowledgement of Peter’s presence gone.
–
That night the two of you do end up attending Gwen’s party. Peter finishes his lab report earlier than expected and you end up outlining an essay a week ahead of schedule.
Gwen’s apartment is huge, a penthouse in Chelsea that is almost impractical for her to have all to herself. All your friends will be there, alcohol is always provided, and the music is bearable. In all honesty, the only downside of attending would be the host herself.
“It’ll be fun.” You straighten Peter’s shirt, delaying the inevitable of ringing the doorbell and seeing Gwen’s delicate face.
“Famous last words.”
You hit his chest and he clutches his heart, feigning pain. Rolling your eyes at him, you breathe through your nose and finally ring the doorbell. Music can be heard through the thick walls already and you think you can hear someone shriek in excitement when the bell rings.
“Y/N!” Lily screeches when she opens the door. Suddenly she throws her body around you and Peter has to grab your hips to prevent you and the girl from tumbling over. “We missed you!”
“Hi, Lily.” You wheeze out with a laugh, touched by her sincerity. “How many drinks have you had already?”
“Only two.” She rolls her eyes. “I’m just excited to see you!”
“I’m here too, you know.” Peter playfully glares at the girl. “Not that you seem to care.”
“Oh, I couldn’t care less,” Lily looks at him, smug. “But you know who might care a bit too much?”
“Is that Peter?” Gwen’s shrill voice cuts through the conversation. The music immediately gets turned down and the click of her heels announces that she’s already on her way over.
Lily sighs. “She’s found you.”
Peter gulps and you laugh at his misery. Looping your arm through Lily’s, you spin her around and leave him to fend for himself. You flee the scene just as Gwen arrives, perfume heavy as she clutches at Peter’s shirt.
“What took you so long?” She purrs, ignoring you entirely as you leave.
Peter cranes his neck, nervous to let you out of his sight. He only came here tonight because you asked him to, and now you’ve abandoned him to deal with Gwen all alone.
He should’ve seen it coming, honestly.
“Y/N and I had some work to finish up.” Explains Peter, forcing a smile on his face. “Actually, she’s the only reason I’m here right now.”
Gwen’s seductive smile drops, quickly replaced with a scowl. With a huff, she turns around, not even bothering to say anything else to him. She leaves just as suddenly as she came, and Peter is left exhaling deeply, longing for you once more.
He finds you with Lily and Harry, head thrown back mid-laugh as rum spills down your hand. Lily is saying something and Harry is looking at you with fondness in his eyes that makes Peter’s stomach twist.
“Harry, back me up here.” Lily begs him, forcing him to look away from you. “You agree that Y/N should email her hot TA, right?”
“Sounds pretty unethical to me.” He knocks his drink with yours. “Isn’t he like, twenty-five?”
“Which would mean he has money, Harry.”
“You do realize my last name is Osborn, right? If you’re looking for money–”
Peter rushes to break up the conversation. “Okay!” He wraps a protective arm around you, exchanging a silent glance with Harry. “What are we talking about?”
Lily stifles her knowing laughter with her drink, but you don’t bother to hide your amusement over Peter’s poorly hidden motives. Sending Harry an apologetic smile, you lean against Peter’s body and offer him your drink.
“According to Lily, I should ask out the TA I was telling you about,” then you point your drink at Harry. “And this one over here is yet again bragging about his rich father.”
He shrugs. “Isn’t that the whole point of generational wealth? Being able to brag about it?”
“Some would say it’s donating money to those who need it.”
You elbow Peter’s side. “Ignore him. He’s just upset that I’m not giving him enough attention tonight.”
Harry snorts seeing the blood drain from Peter’s face and Lily cackles into her drink. You raise your drink towards them, laughing as well, and all Peter can do is shake his head at you fondly and tug at your side.
“C’mon, you little menace.”
“Where’re you taking me?” You try to resist, wanting to spend more time with your friends, but Peter’s hands are warm and his cologne is addicting. You leave without really meaning to, missing the pointed looks Harry and Lily share.
Peter grabs your hand. “To the rooftop. Apparently you haven’t given me enough attention tonight?”
Your breath catches, stomach alight with desire, and you nearly stumble in your haste to follow after him. Rooftops have become something only for you and him. Whether it be at a party, inside the university’s library, or bored in your dorms, you always end up on a rooftop together. An homage to the night that started it all.
The second the October air kisses your face, Peter is already kissing yours.
He inhales you, lips aching and fast against your wanting ones. He doesn’t waste any time having you all to himself. His hands are everywhere, gripping your waist, squeezing your thighs, cupping your breast. Anywhere he can touch, anywhere that elicits soft moans from you that he adores.
You let Peter do whatever to you. Allowing him to set the pace, to swallow the sounds he draws from your lips, to hold your hips against his and grind. When his hair gets caught in your fingers, every tug causes him to push harder against you.
Peter uses his senses to find the nearest wall, desperate for more friction. He’s needy, he can’t get enough of you, and the moment your body lands on the wall Peter is moaning against your mouth.
“That’s it, sweetheart,” he sighs into your neck, your entire body moving with his. He rolls his hips, feels the sweet heat between your thighs that he craves. “Fuck.”
Teeth graze your neck as Peter places his knee where you need it most. You throw your head back, moving even faster against him. He pinches your nipple through the fabric that traps it, sucking your lip with every gasp.
“Stars,” you tug Peter’s hair harder, forcing him away. “The-the stars.”
He makes an offended noise. “What?”
“There are stars.” Your heartbeat hasn’t slowed down yet.
“Okay…?” Peter looks up, confused as to why you’re focusing on the stars when he has you throbbing underneath him.
But then he sees it. Everywhere, across the entire sky, there are stars. Millions of them, more than he’s ever seen in his entire life. More than New York has ever had enough room for in its smoke infested skies. They glow bright. Winking down at Peter as if to say, about time, right?
“Oh, my God,” Peter can’t believe it. He’s spent endless nights patrolling under a dark sky. “Where’d they come from?”
“This might sound crazy, but I think stars are from space.” Peter pinches your waist in retaliation. You twist your body away, trying to avoid his attack. “Hey!”
“You know what I meant.”
You don’t respond, choosing to rest your arms around Peter’s neck and play with his hair; your eyes trace the sky. “We never did get to stargaze that night.”
The night you met.
Peter draws you into him. Your head is against his chest. He kisses your forehead, staring up at the sky above as well. “Maybe the stars aren’t so doomed after all.”
He feels your laugh more than he hears it. The earlier desperation is gone. Your touch doesn’t burn Peter’s skin anymore and his lips don’t tempt you to open them. Instead, the two of you relish in the quiet together. A moment alone with only the stars as a witness.
After the cold has set in and you ask to go inside, Peter finds that he no longer fears the rooftop’s edge.
–
Your parents announce that they’re spending Thanksgiving in Hawaii the day you’re supposed to go home for break.
The announcement doesn’t necessarily surprise you, nor their lack of remorse for leaving you alone during the holiday. What surprises you in the end is the fact that they actually inform you before deserting you.
Seems there’s a first time for everything.
“Have you packed yet?” Peter asks you while he digs through his closet for clothes to bring home. “You leave in like an hour.”
You sit on his bed. “Nope.”
“Don’t you think you’re cutting it a little close?”
“Not really.”
“So you’re just going to pack when your parents get here?”
“They aren’t coming here.”
Peter pauses. He pokes his head out the closet and looks at you. “Are you taking the train home, then?”
“No.”
Your shoulders are drawn in. You avoid Peter’s concerned eyes, but he joins you on the bed anyways. You’ve never really talked about your parents, but beneath the indifference you’ve always presented, Peter has pieced together the hurt that keeps it in place.
“You’re not going home for Thanksgiving.” He doesn’t say it with any pity or accusation.
You let out a bitter laugh. “Thanksgiving in Hawaii. Who knew that was a thing?”
“I’m sorry, Y/N.” Peter’s parents died a long time ago, but he can’t imagine the pain of losing parents you never really had in the first place.
“It’s fine.” Your voice doesn’t hold its usual confident cadence. “I mean. Guess now I have time to start prepping for finals. We have to present a case study for physics, remember?”
Peter can’t believe that you’re trying to spin this into some academic advantage. “There’s no way I’m letting you spend Thanksgiving break alone.”
“Not really much of a choice, buddy.”
He laughs at you. When you try to ask him what’s so funny, Peter shushes you and pulls out his phone. “Watch this.”
“What–”
“Hey, May!”
You don’t move from the bed, terrified of the scene before you. Peter paces the room, chats with his aunt about his packing progress and when to expect him, before he turns to you with an evil grin. “By the way, May. My friend doesn’t have anyone to spend Thanksgiving with. What are your thoughts on that?”
Twenty minutes later you’re in a taxi heading to Queens with Peter’s smug grin bearing down at you.
“Stop looking so amused.”
He flicks your forehead. As if he was going to let you win. “You’re so naive. It’s cute.”
May Parker is what you can only imagine the word “warmth” would be if it were a person. She’s soft, maternal and lovely, but there’s also a bite to her that cautions you to do as she says without argument.
You fall in love with her the moment she shoves past Peter to hug you first.
“It’s so good to finally meet you!” May squeals, still holding you in one arm while she snaps her fingers at her nephew. “Peter, get her bags. Don’t just stand there.”
“Yeah, Peter. Get my bags.”
You stick your tongue out at him, pleased, and he rolls his eyes. Peter isn’t upset, though. If anything, he’s missed being commanded by May. He enjoys it even more now that she has you to help her order him around.
“Yes, dears.” He says dryly, leaving you and May to talk as he gets the rest of your things and his.
“You raised him so well, May.”
“Oh, he’s only being nice to me because you’re here.”
Peter sighs. He’s already resolved himself to a long week. He takes your things to his room, figuring that’s where May has planned for you to go anyways. There isn’t a guest room in their small apartment, and she knows that you’re special to him. While he hasn’t told his aunt the specific details, she understands that Peter really likes you.
“Peter Parker, don’t you dare unpack your things in your room.” May’s stern command causes Peter to jump. She stands in the doorway, arms crossed over her chest with you next to her. “You’re not sleeping here.”
He blinks slowly. “I’m… not?”
“No. Y/N, honey, you can take his bed.” May turns to Peter. “As for you, you’ll be sleeping on the couch.”
Peter looks at her as if she’s crazy. “May!”
“I can take the couch, Mrs. Parker–” You also jump in, struck by a sense of intruding. You feel bad enough for barging into their home, but kicking Peter out of his bed feels extreme.
“I don’t want to hear it.” May holds her hands up at the two of you. “Like you said, I raised my nephew right. He’ll sleep on the couch, you’ll sleep in the room. There will be no sharing of beds so long as you’re under my roof.”
You cover your mouth, terrified of her implications. Peter’s face is on fire and he coughs awkwardly.  “Mrs. Parker, Peter and I aren’t–”
“This conversation is done.” May claps her hands together. “Now, who wants to help me bake some cookies?”
Unknown to you, the Parker apartment regularly hosts a Thanksgiving feast for all of Peter’s friends. It’s tradition, and there’s a warm tug in your stomach at the idea that you’re now a part of it.
You meet Ned first. He’s a sweet guy, a bit shy, and he spends the entire time talking to Peter about the latest Star Wars installment and stories from MIT. His girlfriend Betty is a sweetheart who asks you nonstop questions about who you are and what you do. Flash is loud and obnoxious and you have to throw a roll of bread at him to get him to shut up, but eventually he grows on you and you offer him some advice regarding his girlfriend back home. MJ is quiet, but interesting, and towards the end of the night you end up sharing analyses regarding your favorite poets together.
As for Peter, his eyes don’t leave you the entire night.
He watches how easily you get along with the people he loves the most. How you’re patient with Ned’s stammering shyness, how you entertain Betty’s journalistic interests, that you manage to defend yourself against Flash, and how MJ opens up to you within minutes.
Peter has never let anyone see into this part of his life so intimately. Without fear and unease. Everyone falls in love with you that night, and, one night years from now, Peter will realize that this is the night he fell in love with you, too.
“She’s great,” May hands him a plate to wash, looking over her shoulder to admire you as you talk to everyone in the living room.
“She is.” Peter smiles down at his hands, shy.
May grabs another plate, clearing any leftover food on it before handing it to her nephew. “Are you going to patrol tonight?”
“I have to,” he sighs. “It’s a holiday. You know how people can get.”
May doesn’t give him a response. She only hands him more dishes to wash so that she can store leftovers for tomorrow. They work quietly together side by side, neither disrupting the silence. Peter knows that May is still uncomfortable with Spider-Man, and she knows that he will never give it up.
“Does Y/N know?”
Peter’s body freezes. He doesn’t look up at May, afraid that if he does, he’ll collapse.
“No.” He coughs slightly. “She doesn’t.”
“She’s smart, Peter. You have to know that she’ll figure it out eventually.” She isn’t disappointed in him. Not really. May understands that there are aspects of being Spider-Man that she will never agree with.
Peter drops his head. “I know.”
“Then why haven’t you told her?”
He doesn’t know how to answer his aunt. How can he explain to her that the reason Peter kissed you that July is because you quelled the roar in his head? That being with you is easy and nothing in his life has ever been easy. That when he’s with you, Peter can pretend that he’s normal. That death doesn’t hang over his head every day.
There’s a quiet that comes with being with you, and all Peter’s life there has only been excessive noise and thunder.
If Peter tells you who he is, he’s terrified that the quiet will fade and all that will be left is blinding sound.
“It’s too dangerous for Y/N to know.” And it isn’t a lie. The more people who know his identity, the more people Peter is putting in danger.
His aunt pinches the bridge of her nose. “And what about me? Ned and MJ? Why do they get to know, but not Y/N?”
“That’s different.” It isn’t. Not anymore. But his hands are shaking and Peter has to remind himself to breathe.
May sees his loss of composure and she finally backs down, placing a comforting hand on her nephew’s arm. She rubs small circles, rhythmic and soothing, just like she used to do when he was a little kid.
“I only want what’s best for you, Peter.” She kisses his hair, though he’s grown since she’s last seen him and it isn’t as easy to do anymore. “There’s a spark in Y/N that I admire, but she also seems very prideful. I’m worried that hiding who you are will only jeopardize your relationship and hurt you both in the end.”
“We aren’t in a relationship, May.” The words are bitter on Peter’s tongue. “She’s just a friend.”
May finally looks at him, pauses slightly as she takes in the boy she raised. For the first time tonight she sees the exhaustion in his eyes. Bruises that line his knuckles, the scar on his eyebrow. The slouch of his shoulders from the weight he always seems to carry.
“That’s why you haven’t told Y/N.” She whispers, eyes softening in understanding. Peter wants to ask her what she means, but when her gentle hand touches his face, all he can do is lean against it and rest his tired eyes.
“I hope one day you allow yourself to have everything you’ve ever wanted, Peter.”
Someone calls May’s name, forcing her hand to fall from his face. She leaves Peter standing alone in the kitchen with nothing but her words to bear witness to his self destruction.
He thinks of slow mornings spent with you. The curve of your neck. Coffee stained mugs. Your cold fingers through his underneath the covers. Late night study dates. Chasing one another through empty alleys. Rooftops and the buzz of something deeper than lust.
Peter already has everything he’s ever wanted. Even if it isn’t really his.

As long as the bullet doesn’t hit any major organs, Peter can heal from a gunshot wound in roughly eight hours. Sure, he’s sore for a while and it leaves a faded, silk-like scar, but he still thinks it’s pretty cool.
If he’s stabbed? Peter is up and running again in less than six hours. Unless he needs stitches. Then it gets a bit trickier. Overall though, he can’t complain.
But a fire that takes out six entire blocks in the east village that the mayor is calling the worst incident New York City has seen since 1990? Currently, Peter is on day two of laying in soaked t-shirts and aloe oil.
“Have you changed your wraps yet?” May asks him over the phone. She’d seen the fire on the news and wasn’t surprised when Spider-Man appeared.
She also wasn’t surprised when the newsreel catches him crashing into a wall of fire five seconds after saving a little girl.
Peter shifts in his bed, wincing when the fabric rubs against his raw and burned skin. “Changed them an hour ago, May.”
“And you’ve been icing?”
“If you count a bag of frozen peas as ice, then yeah. I’ve been icing the burns.”
“Peter.”
“It’s a little funny, May. C’mon.” Peter hears her sigh. He closes his eyes and softens his voice. “Look, I’m fine. No need to worry about me, okay? I’m just… a little warm, right now.”
May doesn’t dignify what he’s said with a response. Instead, she reminds him to apply a fresh coat of aloe before hanging with an exasperated goodbye.
Peter tosses his phone down, ready to go back to staring at the ceiling because that’s all he can physically bring himself to do right now, but then a message appears on its screen.
earth to peter?
Suddenly his entire body is cold. Your name accompanies the text and your face greets him. Peter hasn’t seen you since the night of the fire. He hasn’t spoken to you, either.
Half of his body is burned to shit and he inhaled so much smoke trying to get everyone out that it sounds like he’s smoked twenty packs a day for five years. How the fuck is Peter supposed to explain any of that to you without revealing everything he’s worked so hard to mask?
peter?
anyone there?
The influx of messages only further constricts Peter’s chest and doesn’t know what to do.
it’s been almost two days, dude. answer me or die.
unless you’re dead. in that case: please come back to life. i miss you :(
Cursing under his breath, Peter carefully picks the phone up and types what he hopes is enough to satiate you.
I’m alive! Just sick right now. Bleh.
But, predictably, this only makes everything worse because you immediately call him. Peter tries to hit decline, but with burned fingers and sore bones, he answers, and he really wishes the fire had knocked him into a coma instead of singeing his eyebrows.
“Peter?”
He holds his breath.
“Peter, I can hear you holding your breath.”
“Can you?” He cringes at how broken his voice sounds. He clears his throat, ignoring the sting of smoke still lingering. “I-I mean. Hi.”
“Jesus.” On the other end of the line, you sit up in bed, worried. “You sound horrible.”
Peter fake coughs, though it then turns into a very real, very painful cough. “Sick.”
“I’ll be there in twenty minutes.”
“Wait–”
“I think I have all the ingredients for chicken noodle soup, and I remember seeing celery in your fridge a few days ago. Is it Jude’s? Actually, he’ll probably let me borrow some if I offer to make him some soup as well–”
Peter manages to raise his voice slightly, desperate to get your attention. “Y/N. You can’t come over.”
You’re silent for several long moments. This is the first time he’s ever denied you. “And why not?”
“I’m… sick?”
“And?”
“I’m contagious?”
You laugh, short and slightly endearing. “Lovely, are you forgetting that we literally swapped spit at the New Years party? I’m probably already contaminated. It’s fine.”
Peter really, really hates how stubborn you are sometimes. “But why risk it?” He coughs again into the phone, emphasizing how rough and disgusting the fake illness is. “Hear that? You really want to see the consequences?”
“I really want to see you, Peter.” You pause again. “Why are you being so weird about this?”
She’s smart. You have to know that she’ll figure it out eventually, May’s voice echoes in his head. He really needs to start listening to her.
“I take respiratory health very seriously, Y/N.”
Both you and Peter know that he doesn’t, but you’ve been spiraling over his silence these last two days and at the very least, you know he’s okay. Taking whatever you can get, you give in. “Fine. But can I at least drop the soup off on your doorstep?”
The sincerity in your voice, the willingness to still take care of Peter despite his insistence not to, is what makes him give in, too. “Of course, sweetheart.”
He hears you smile, a sound he loves, even if he doesn’t know the name for it yet.
“Hey, Jude!” Peter calls through the wall after you’ve hung up the phone.
A thud. “Yeah?”
“Y/N is bringing me some soup and leaving it on the doorstep. Do you think you could bring it in?”
“Depends,” Jude has long become familiar with your presence in the dorm. “Can I have some?”
Peter rolls his eyes at his roommate, though he isn’t surprised. Jude adores everything you make for him and Peter. He’s even made it a rule for you to not make lasagna without him.
“Yeah, whatever.”
“Wait, is it tomato soup? I don’t like tomatoes, they taste too red.”
Peter drops his head in his hands. He doesn’t have the energy to respond. Instead, he shifts in bed and carefully re-wraps the bandages that litter his body. When he crashed into the literal wall of fire, his suit luckily took most of the damage, but not without Peter’s skin searing and losing all body hair.
Not that he had a lot of body hair to begin with, but still. Tough loss.
Peter is about to call May to ask her if he should take an ice bath when his phone rings. He looks down at it, confused, and his confusion grows more when he sees your name flashing once again.
“Y/N? Did you finish already–”
“Cut the shit, Parker.
His blood drains at the ice in your vocal chords. “I-I’m sorry?”
“You’re sick, correct?” You sneer at him. This is the most venom Peter has ever heard drip out of your plush mouth.
Even without his spidey-sense, Peter would know that he’s on the precipice of a trap. “...Yes?”
“Funny. When I called your aunt to see if I should bring you anything else, she was touched that I was helping you take care of your sprained ankle.”
He’s so unbelievably fucked.
“I, uh. Forgot about that!” Peter laughs nervously. “Sprained my ankle real good. And got sick. At the same time.”
“And how did you sprain it?” You don’t miss a beat.
Another trap. Peter wracks his mind, tries to think of what May could’ve possibly told you, but he’s in the palm of your hand, ready and wilting.
“Riding a bike?”
“Go to hell, Peter.”
His heart jumps in his throat. “Y/N, let me explain–”
“You know, if you didn’t want to see me, you could’ve just told me.” The anger in your voice dissipates, slowly replaced with something akin to hurt. Peter can hear the slight tremor as you speak. “But lying to me is fucking pathetic.”
“I do want to see you,” Peter rushes out, practically begging. He hasn’t felt your touch in days and his skin misses yours. “God. Of course I want to see you, sweetheart.”
You want to believe him. Silence stretches over the phone, hesitancy that longs for solace. With every breath you take, every second that passes between you and Peter, he can feel you trying to hold onto the idea that he’s yours and good and whole.
“Then why did you lie?” Whispered and raw. Everything that there’s left to give Peter.
“Y/N…” But he’s a coward.
You take his silence as absolute. “Goodbye, Peter.”
The line goes dead.
–
Peter doesn’t hear from you for the rest of the day.
The next morning, he checks his phone before his eyes have even opened, but there’s nothing. By the afternoon, Peter starts to lose his mind. His skin itches at the loss of your voice, he can’t sleep, his stomach is in knots, and all he wants to do is whisper apologies down your spine as he traces your back with his lips.
I’m sorry.
Peter’s thumb hovers over send. He rereads the message over and over again, convinced somehow that the words are blurring together.
He deletes it, types something else.
Can we talk?
You hate it when he grovels.
Just call.
Too demanding.
I miss you too.
Too vulnerable.
Peter has never been good with words. He’s never had to be when it comes to you. You’ve always been able to read him, handing him water before his body can even recognize the thirst. In the six months he’s known you, you’ve become intertwined in the webs that surround him.
It’s this worry for you and intertwinement that leads Spider-Man to your windowsill.
This isn’t Peter’s proudest moment, he’ll admit. Using his masked identity to crouch in front of your window, hidden in the dark of the night, aching to catch a glimpse of you. He tells himself that he’s only doing this because he cares about you and that the burns that still mar his body aren’t healed enough for you to see him yet.
But really Peter knows there’s something else behind why he’s doing this; he just isn’t ready to face it yet.
You’re in your small, cramped kitchen. The university dorms are hardly big enough for one person, let alone two, but your roommate Emma is gone for winter break and it’s only you home tonight.
Peter’s heart lodges in his throat when he realizes that you’re wearing one of his old Midtown High hoodies. You stole it months ago, claiming it was vindicating to rep a school that your soccer team won against when you were sixteen, but Peter catches your nose buried in the collar when you think he isn’t looking.
A dog barks and the screech of car tires force Peter’s attention elsewhere. He narrows his eyes, ears ringing trying to locate the source of the sound, but the night falls quiet again. He sighs, turns back around, only to find your window open, staring directly at him.
Peter yelps in surprise, nearly slipping on the lamppost he’s on.
“You’re smaller than I imagined,” you watch him trip over his feet in a desperate attempt not to fall. “I figured you’d be broader.”
Peter catches his breath, unsure what to do in this situation. You’re leaning out the window, hair falling over your shoulders, and the moonlight illuminates the apples of your cheeks. Your eyes don’t leave him, curious, amused, but tired.
Your eyes are tired.
“What, are you just gonna let me imply that you’re scrawny?” You laugh at your own joke. “Thought you were known for your quips.”
“It’s ‘thwips’, actually, ma’am.” Instinctively Peter deepens his voice as he speaks, but the fact that he’s even responded at all, on top of his horrible joke, makes him want to slam his head into the lamppost.
Your eyebrows scrunch together, though they do so as you smile. “‘Thwips?’”
“My webs, they make this…” Peter shrugs helplessly, thankful his mask hides the embarrassment. “Thwip sound? And I’m known for–well. My webs, I guess?”
“You didn’t plan this joke out very well, did you?”
“Not at all.”
The admission is quick, he doesn’t hesitate to confess to you that he doesn’t know what he’s doing, and the stark difference between Spider-Man’s response and Peter’s is a harsh reminder of everything you still don’t understand about him.
“Well, at least you’re honest.” You laugh, the edges of the sound tinged with bitterness. Nails picking at the window’s frame, you swallow hard. There’s always a lump stuck in your throat these days. “How heroic.”
Peter closes his eyes. The words are aimed at him, and yet you have no idea who you’ve revealed this to.
He swallows hard as well, reflects your own uncertainty. “Do you, uh. Want to talk about whatever is on your mind, ma’am?”
You tilt your head. “I didn’t know Spider-Man had an emotional touch to him.”
“Oh, trust me. Everything about me is emotional. I cried the other day saving a mouse from a glue trap.” Peter risks jumping onto the ledge of your window, landing softly with your body now inches from him. You gasp, surprised, and he smirks down at you. “I can be very cathartic to talk to.”
You don’t move away, the hum of his body next to yours is familiar, as if the skin underneath the suit remembers you, but in the years you’ve spent living in New York you’ve never encountered Spider-Man before. His skin has never met yours.
“Was the mouse okay?”
Peter knew you’d ask him this. “He was fine. Bit my hand, but I like to think he did it with love.” You laugh, and he scratches the back of his head, not wanting to ruin this just yet, but he knows he has to. “But, um. Are you okay?”
The laughter dies and the smile lines on your face fade. You look away from Peter, nails picking at the window once again. “I met a guy at a party this summer.”
“Do we like this guy?”
“He’s my best friend.” You confess, a slight tremble in your bravado. “He’s-he’s more than that, even. I think he’s nestled himself between my fifth and sixth ribs, but to him I’m just…”
Unable to finish, your voice trails off. You can’t bring yourself to look at Peter, and he can’t bring himself to look at you.
“There’s this hurt in him that he won’t let me see; he doesn’t trust me to see. Burdens he has to carry, that he thinks I don’t know are there.” Peter watches as your eyes harden, though there’s still a fondness for the boy you’re talking about that he knows is in his own eyes for you. “But I know him. I know Peter. Even if he doesn’t want me to.”
“He’s only been in my life for six months.” You inhale, close your eyes, and open them upon release. Your eyes find Peter’s and you hold his gaze, long and steady. “But I’ve memorized the dip of his back, the freckles around his thighs. He lets me touch him so softly, but he still thinks I don’t know who he is.”
Peter hangs his head, breaking his eyes from yours. His skin crawls. You know too much, and yet you know nothing at all.
“I think knowing someone can be stifling,” he says, crouching down to face you. This close, he can see the flecks of remorse that line your eyes. Your breath ghosts his face. “Maybe Peter is still learning to breathe you in how you want him to.”
Give me time, he pleads silently. You fill my lungs every time you whisper my name, but everyday I choke on what I can’t tell you.
“Real poetic, Spidey.” You cup his cheek, the fabric of his suit softer than you expect it to be. Your gaze is sad. Lips downturned, bittersweet with melancholy. “I hope someday someone allows themself to breathe me in.”
The last of Peter’s resolve crumbles. He’s never seen this side of you, vulnerability lacing your weathered insecurity. The insecurity that he put there. All because he thinks this is what’s best for you. Holding you at a distance, the separation marring your bodies with longing.
You’ve bled yourself dry for Peter, and the realization leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.
I hope one day you allow yourself to have everything you’ve ever wanted, Peter.
This isn’t what he wanted. You fell into Peter’s fragile hands and he hadn’t caught you. What he wants, what he has to allow himself to do, is catch you before the fall kills you both.
“I’m sure Peter will be ready one day.” To you, the words are merely reassurance. To Peter, they’re a promise. He’s tired of hiding. Of suffocating you both with secrets only meant to be his demise.
“Goodbye, Spider-Man.” Your hand drops. He misses your touch the moment it’s gone. You move away from the window, he thinks he sees tears in your eyes, but then you’re gone, and it’s only Peter and a lonesome dog beneath him.
The next day, the rest of the burn scars fade away. Peter’s skin is left baby-pink, new and sensitive. His hands still ache when he flexes them but his body aches even more being apart from you any longer.
Peter knocks on your door with flowers in his hand. He’s going to be better for you. He’s going to finally try, breathe life back in what’s gone stale between you. When you answer, you hold onto Peter so tightly that for a second he’s afraid you know everything he’s hidden from you.
“You came,” your tears wet his chest, but neither of you pull away.
Peter’s hands cradle you, holding you with the delicacy that he should’ve from the start. “I always will.”
And you know he means it, you know that the flowers Peter has brought you symbolize more than just an apology, and it’s almost enough.
The distance grows. Everything is cold where it used to be hot. A harsh winter wilts the flowers from Peter, its petals dead upon your desk.
Everyone has secrets, trust comes with fallacies of vulnerability, but Peter’s soak through your stained hands and he slips through your fingers.
You stop calling. Plans go unmade. Early morning breakfasts together become lonely. Some nights Peter is still yours, he kisses your breast and hovers over your heart, but as the days pass the pleasure turns into a hurt and slowly it all comes to an end.
It isn’t Peter’s fault. None of this is, really. You’ve come to love him in a way that terrifies you and yet this was never something he wanted. It isn’t his fault that he can’t be honest with you, not when he never asked you to hold him accountable.
“Still haven’t called Peter?”
Spider-Man has become your new friend in the wake of losing your dearest one. He comes to your window most nights and his humor and mannerisms remind you so much of Peter that you can’t bring yourself to turn him away.
“You’re oddly invested in my pathetic love life for someone who wears spandex every day.”
Peter snorts. “Sue a guy for needing breathable material to save civilians.”
“But did you really need to wear a bodysuit?”
“I’m confident in my body, thank you,” He stands tall, long ago having been invited to sit in your kitchen for your late night talks. Gesturing to his chest and down, he stands proud and tall. “Can’t hide all of this from New York.”
You shove him, ignoring how strong the man’s chest is under your palm. “I thought heroes were supposed to be humble?”
“I’m the most humble person I know, Y/N.”
Peter’s response makes you laugh, and it feels so good to be able to do that again. Winter has taken its toll on you, paling your skin and sallowing your eyes. March is slowly creeping upon you with its fresh rosebuds and blue skies, and for that you’re thankful.
“So,” Peter sits back down, kicking his feet up on your window. “Any exciting plans for spring break now that Peter is dead to you?”
“He isn’t dead to me.” You shove his feet down, hurt simmering under your ribcage. “I miss Peter, and I still care about him deeply, but until he figures out how to be honest with me and let me in, I’m done picking at an open wound.”
Peter holds his hands up in surrender. “Okay, I get it. The guy has problems, but who’s to say he isn’t working on them?”
“We sleep together every time we’re alone in a room. Can’t exactly get over any problems when you’re under them.”
“Not really understanding how Peter being unable to keep his hands off you is a bad thing.” He says, looking at you smugly. “I mean, you’re hot. I don’t blame him.”
You blush at Peter’s bold words, but the irony isn’t lost upon you. “Lust and love aren’t the same thing, Spidey.”
“And if he does love you?” Peter leans across the table, his suit stretching the length of his body and accentuating the lean lines of his muscles that you force yourself to look away from. “Then what? Still going to give him radio silence over spring break?”
Have I lost you? He wants to ask, but you haven’t called Peter in a month and if this is all he’ll ever get from you again, talking with you while disguised as someone else, then he isn’t ready to let go of you just yet.
You roll your eyes. “He doesn’t love me, and as for spring break, I plan on getting incredibly drunk with my friends and pretending that for once in my life I can get what I want.”
And you do.
The following week Lily invites you to some club with her and Harry, and before it’s even midnight you’re already drunk. Harry pays for everyone’s drinks, Lily spins you around as you dance together, and for a brief, addicting few hours, you forget.
Bodies press against yours. Lily grips your hands while Harry finds your waist. The music in the small but packed room is nearly deafening. You’re sweaty and your hair clings to your neck but you don’t care. Harry’s hands feel good against your skin. The heat of his palms, the scratch of his nails.
“Gwen’s here,” Lily shouts, pulling your attention from Harry. “I’m gonna go get her. Are you good with Harry?”
You look at him, finding him already looking down at you with interest, and you squeeze Lily’s hand. “Go, I’ll be fine!”
She smiles coyly at you, sending Harry a knowing wink, before leaving. “Have fun, lovebirds.”
Harry laughs, pulling you even closer, and his hands slide down to the curve of your ass and the weight of his touch feels different from Peter’s. His is softer than Harry’s. More protective than possessive, but alcohol burns your tongue and the grief of a love you once had clouds your mind.
“This alright?” Harry asks you, lips skimming your ear. You nod, shivering at the sensation. With your permission, Harry draws his lips down your neck.
Your head moves to the side, allowing him more access, and Harry murmurs something into your skin, but you don’t bother to ask him what he’s said. All you want is for him to keep kissing you, to trace over the path Peter once carved himself, to erase any excess of him that you’ve missed.
Harry’s hands squeeze your ass and he pushes his hips into you. His hard on digs into you, he nips at your collarbone, and it’s all too much. None of it feels right. Peter never bites into bone, he doesn’t shove against you without satiating you first.
Your stomach lurches, all the vodka from tonight threatening to return, and you pry yourself away from Harry. He says something, but you can’t hear him over the ringing in your head. Your legs manage to find an exit and you collapse onto the filthy sidewalk outside the club.
Hot tears run down your face. You’re a child, lost and alone.
Numb fingers fumble for your phone. The screen is bright and you’re crying so hard that your entire body shakes. You try to type his name into your phone, to call the only person you can think of, but your fingers keep missing the “P” and you can’t breathe.
“Hey, miss? Are you alright?” A body lands next to yours. Their hand gently touches your shoulder and when you look up, all the air escapes him. “Y/N?”
Spider-Man kneels before you, arms encasing you as you tremble against the night’s cold. Phone forgotten, you cry into his chest, finally allowing every ache, every hour spent mourning, to fall down your cheeks.
“What happened, sweetheart?” He whispers against your ear, hand running through your hair. The term of endearment only makes you cry harder, and all Peter can do is hold you through it. He doesn’t see any injuries on you. The smell of alcohol strong, your hair matted.
“I wan’ to go home,” you slur out, breath hitching with fresh tears. “Please.”
Peter helps you stand up and gently instructs you to wrap your arms around his neck. You comply, and when he’s sure you’re secure, he grips your legs and wraps them around his body. He hasn’t held you like this in what’s felt like years. To have your hips around him again, to hold the weight of your body in his arms, it’s almost too much for Peter.
But then you cry again, your head tucked against his neck, and he knows that he would bear the pain of relearning your touch over and over again if it meant your nose always remained pressed against his skin.
Thankfully the club Peter finds you at isn’t far from your dorm. He swings as slowly as he can, weary of how many drinks you’ve had tonight. You don’t react in his arms. The view of the city below you goes unnoticed as the wind drowns out your cries.
Emma is asleep when Peter carefully sets you down through the window. You’re shaky on your feet, body still pale and weak. He crawls in after you and rests his hand on the small of your back.
“Let’s get you to bed, okay?”
You don’t say anything. Peter guides you to your room and in your drunken state you don’t think to question how Spider-Man knows which room is yours. He pulls the bedding off your bed, helps you lay down, before he brings the blanket just under your chin.
When Peter goes to get you a glass of water and some tylenol, your hand stops him.
“Stay,” you whisper, looking so small in your twin sized bed.
He bites his lip. “You need to drink some water, get some electrolytes in you–”
“Please,” begging, pleading. Liquid honey and nostalgia that is like sap in Peter’s blood.
Weak for you, drawn to you as he always is, Peter crawls into your bed and you welcome him home. You place your head on his chest, splay your hands around his waist, wrap your body around him as you’ve always done.
Peter’s heart pounds in his chest; you still remember your way around his body. You still smell like peonies and copper. You still press your nose to his neck as if it were made to fit where his collarbones rise.
“Doomed from the start.”
He almost doesn’t hear you. He almost doesn’t ask you what you mean, he doesn’t want to bring it to light. “What’s doomed, Y/N?”
And, like the very first time you whispered the vague words to him, you hold them close to your chest. Only this time you don’t smile up at Peter, you don’t etch your name into his skin with lazy kisses. All that’s left within your words is despair.
“I fell in love with a ghost,” you murmur, eyes tracing Peter’s masked face, as if you can see past the material. As if you know who lays underneath it, the freckles you’ve kissed before. “He won’t leave.”
“Y/N…”
Your eyes close. “I miss you.”
Peter tightens his arms, relishing in the proximity and admission of grief, even though you’ve mistaken Spider-Man’s body for someone else. Your breathing becomes steady, and he knows that he’s lost you again
That night, Peter doesn’t sleep. He spends the hours tracing his fingers over your skin, memorizing the lines of your skin, the scars and freckles that make you whole. Once, this body was his to worship.
Morning comes and sunlight floods the room. You don’t stir, body exhausted still from the events of the night before. Your phone buzzes to life and Peter finds himself looking down to read the messages.
Most are from Lily.
Babe, where did you go?
Harry said you got upset?? Did you go home??? Please call ASAP.
I called Emma. She said she heard you come in late last night. Call me when you wake up, ok? I love you!! If I need to kill Harry, I will <3
The final message is from Harry himself.
I’m sorry about last night. I know you and Pete aren’t talking right now and I shouldn’t have acted on my feelings so soon. Whenever, or if ever, you want to talk, I’m happy to take you to coffee in a strictly platonic way.
Peter wants to be angry at Harry, his fingers itching to flex into a fist on instinct, but when he looks down at your sleeping body, he knows he can’t. You were never his. Harry respected him enough to keep his distance while Peter kept you at arm’s length.
All he ever did was keep you at a distance, and now he’s learning how painful it is to be displaced.
Peter sneaks out the window before you wake up. He almost leaves a note, asking you to call him, but then he remembers that it was Spider-Man who came running when you called, not Peter Parker.
Both will always find their way to you, but last night it hadn’t been the one you needed.
–
Months pass. Spring turns to summer and freshman year ends in a hazy and slow manner that Peter can’t quite remember. He doesn’t see you on campus. You stop going to all your usual places.
Lily stops sitting next to him in bio, Gwen gets a boyfriend, and Harry stops greeting Peter whenever he sees him.
Summer break comes and Peter moves home.
“Will Y/N be visiting?” May asks him, prodding for an answer as to why you’ve stopped calling her.
Peter shakes his head, silent, and it’s all his aunt needs to know that you’re gone. The smile she gives him is sad, understanding, and Peter misses the smile she’d give him when you called and teased him alongside her.
He still patrols the city as he’s always done. A local pizza shop posts an ad for a delivery boy and Peter figures that the work will be a welcome distraction from everything that reminds him of you. It’s grueling and exhausting running around Manhattan, but the pain is enough for him to forget how you looked naked and on top of him.
Ned stops by every day. He never asks Peter what happened and where you went, but he’s full of new stories from MIT to fill the silence you’ve left behind, and Betty sometimes tags along. Flash asks if he can still call you for girl advice and Peter doesn’t bother to answer him.
MJ isn’t as delicate and she punches his arm the moment she sees him. It hurts and leaves a bruise, but Peter doesn’t mind. He knows it’s what you would’ve wanted, and he misses knowing your wants and needs.
June seeps into July and there’s a party that Ned insists on attending.
Peter knows he shouldn’t go. He worked all day and can’t afford to skip a night of patrol, but Ned doesn’t feed into his excuses and suddenly they’re in the same fire hazard apartment building from last year.
He doesn’t know when he starts drinking or when Ned leaves, but he does know that when he sees you again after months of depravity, Peter’s heart stops.
You’re dressed in red. The dress is short, it glimmers in the light, and your hair is pinned back and loose and your makeup is smudged and you smile wickedly when you notice him staring.
“You come here often?” You’re around Peter now, the music is loud and you’re so beautiful.
He laughs at you, remembering the way you warned him to never say that pickup line to you when you first met. His hands run up and down your waist, eager to relearn every inch of you, and Peter is drunk and so in love that it hurts.
“I was here once last year,” he shouts over the music. He plays along. “There’s a rooftop I think you might like.”
And then you’re running through the crowd of people, giggling like little kids together, racing to the rooftop of where everything began. Peter opens the door. The July air greets him kindly, welcomes him back after being apart for so long.
You sit on the concrete and Peter joins you. Your head rests on his shoulder and his arm hangs loosely around you. Up above you there are stars, bright and alive despite the city that tries to choke them.
“I was an idiot,” he mumbles. “I still am.”
“You were,” you agree softly.
“I tried so hard to be what you needed.” The regret in his voice pulls you to look at him, and Peter is still as devastatingly handsome as the night you met.
“I know.”
“I’m…” He hesitates, at the palm of your hand, before he accepts that this is how it will always be when it comes to love. Peter holds his breath, his fifth and sixth ribs tremble, and he reveals everything to you. “I’m sorry for the ghost that never leaves.”
The echo of the words that fell from your drunk lips in the spring meant only for Spider-Man to hear.
“I know, Peter.” You tell him, undoing the weight of a secret that crippled Peter almost his entire life. “I always knew you were Spider-Man. I knew. I was just waiting for you to trust me to help you carry the weight of it all.”
But he never did. The shame of it burns Peter’s face, deteriorates his muscles. How naive he had been to think that it was easier to keep you in the dark than to have shared the light with you.
Dread fills his chest, accompanied by the longing of what could’ve been, and all Peter can do now, all that’s left to do now, is hold you beneath the stars, stargazing together like you used to.
“I loved you, you know.” Cards on the table. Peter shows you his hand. He hopes that the cards you dealt to him a year ago are still the same as the ones tonight.
“I know.” And that’s all you have left to say.

Time Skip Kenma x Fem! Reader
One Shot
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today is Bouncing Ball Corp.'s 5th anniversary. To celebrate the company is throwing a huge fancy party and people from partnering companies are attending. Kenma isn't a fan of parties but must attend as the CEO. He told himself that he would just go, say a few words, talk to a few of his business partners, and then dip. You were supposed to be by his side the whole time but unfortunately, you were at your parents' house for the weekend and won't arrive home until a little after the party started. You told him that he should just go and you'd meet him at the party. He reluctantly agreed and went on his way.
You were kinda excited to go to this party even if it's just for a little while. You haven't dressed up in a while so this was the perfect opportunity to wear that new dress you bought. It was a silky red sleeveless dress that hugged your shape perfectly and showed a little bit of cleavage. You couldn't wait to see Kenma’s reaction so you hurriedly put on your dress, threw on a pair of ear heels, earrings, and a neckless that Kenma got for your birthday.
When you arrived at the venue the first thing you did was scout out your boyfriend. You looked around for a couple of minutes when you bumped into Kuroo.
“Woah there watch where you going…” He said with a slight smile on his face. “Looking for something?”
“Yeah I'm looking for Kenma, have you seen him anywhere?” you asked impatiently.
“Ohh yeahhh about that….” He pointed towards Kenma.
He was talking to a lady, or more like that lady was trying to talk to him. It was obvious that she was trying to flirt with him. Your blood boiled at the thought.
Kenma prefers to keep the relationship private so not many people know that he's taken, only his close friends and family. Because of this when you guys go to events like this you try to limit physical contact so as not to raise suspicions.
You decided to ignore the anger rising in you and wait until the conversation was finished before approaching him. That was until the lady started getting handsy with Kenma. Touching his arms and slightly rubbing him up and down. Kenma was obviously uncomfortable with this but before he could do anything he felt someone rub his back.
“Heyyy sweetie..” You pull him in by the neck for a hug and kissed him on the cheek, making sure that the lady in front of him could see. “Sorry I'm late, traffic was crazy, who’s this?” You ask in a slightly disgusted tone.
Kenma was shocked because of what you did, slightly turned on because of how good you looked in that dress, and relieved that you're here now. “This is just my colleague.” he said with a flat tone. “Please excuse me.” He said to his colleague as he grabbed your arm and pulled you away.
“Hey where are we going!” He’s walking fast and you're trying to match his pace as he pulls you.
“Home.”
“Are you mad at me?”
“Not really, its time people found out about us anyway. I'm tired of people trying to flirt with me.”
“Wait so this isn't the first time?!”
“Uhhh don't worry about that, let's just go home. I rather be in bed with you than here.”
This is based off the newest episode…maybe drunk Mel of course and Sober reader, maybe reader is staying sober to drive home or something and enjoying herself at Janine’s party watching Mel drink and flirt and go crazy
Ask and receive 🫡. I of course had to include sea Barb from the episode. It took me 3 days to write this so i hope it lives up to your expectations. Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
On another note: Due to my creative block that keeps coming and going, I most likely will not write fics for the prompts in order. I will write whatever is inspiring me at the moment so at least I will get fics out for your guys! So I could write a fic for your prompt the next day or the following week, who knows🤷🏻‍♀️.
Flirty Drunk
Warnings: small spoilers from the episode, flirty Mel, oblivious (ish) Reader
Words: 1.85k
Tumblr media
You watch as Melissa and Barb start drinking at the party.
“You sure you don’t want to drink too sweetheart? I can ask Gerald to drive you home as well.” Barb asks you and Melissa looks at you with a smile.
“No thank you, I’m good. I’m not much of a drinker anyway, but you guys let loose and I’ll make sure you don’t embarrass yourselves too much.” You tell them and Melissa takes another big gulp of whatever alcoholic drink she got.
That was 10 minutes ago and now the alcohol is starting to affect them. You see Melissa starting to stumble a bit and she grabbed you for stability.
“Woah, the room is unstable.” She starts slurring and you giggle.
“Of course it’s definitely the room and not you that’s unbalanced.” You tell her and she gives you a small glare.
“Wanna dance with me?” She suddenly asks and you look at her and smile. A chance to dance with your crush, how could you refuse?
“Sure.” You tell her and she smiles as you both start dancing to the music. Over the course of the song you notice Melissa getting closer and closer to you. You feel yourself getting a bit claustrophobic, you want her to be close to you but she’s drunk and not in the right state of mind. You pull away from her and you see her confused expression. “I’m going to get another drink, you want anything?” You have to practically yell over the music. She shakes her head at you and then takes another gulp of her drink. You leave to go to the kitchen to get some more water, not noticing the redhead staring at your ass as you leave. Once you get another cup of water from the sink, you decide to drink it in the kitchen and talk with other people there.
Unknown to you, Melissa was waiting for you to return to dance with you again. After 5 minutes, she decides to stop waiting and just goes to dance with Barb.
You return to the living room and you go and join Mr. Morton with the puzzle. You catch sight of Melissa dancing every once in a while. It’s good that she’s letting loose, you think, she definitely deserves it. You see her start to dance with other people as well instead of just Barb. You smile every time you look at her.
“You could just tell her how you feel.” Mr. Morton suddenly says and you turn back to look at him.
“What?” You ask him and he looks up at you from the puzzle.
“Melissa, you’ve been staring at her since you sat down here. You should just tell her how you feel.” He says then goes back to the puzzle.
“She’s too drunk tonight, she’s not in her right state of mind.” Is all you say and he looks up.
“Maybe that’s a good thing. She’ll be honest and if she rejects you then she won’t remember.”
“But I’ll remember and what if that happens and I act weird around her, we’re coworkers.”
“Today was the last day of school. You don’t have to see her for 2 months. I think that’s enough time to handle the rejection. But if I’m honest, I don’t think she’ll reject you.” He tells you and you tilt your head. “She waited for you to return for several minutes after you left to get a drink, she wanted to dance with you again.”
“Well we are friends, and now she’s dancing with Barb and other teachers.”
“I don’t see her almost grinding on them.” He says and you look over at Melissa. You see her already looking at you and she smiles before looking back over at Barb. You stand up and walk over to Melissa who’s currently dancing with a teacher you’ve never met before. You tap her on the shoulder and she turns around, she smiles when she sees it’s you and you lean in close to her ear so she’ll hear you.
“Wanna dance with me again?” You ask her and you pull back and she nods her head enthusiastically. You start dancing again and she wraps her arms around your neck while you place your hands on her waist. You feel her move her hips to the beat of the music while you try and match it while looking at her eyes. You see her smile at you and you smile back at her. She starts to lean in close but she stumbles and you catch her as you wrap your arms around her waist.
“Woah!”
“Careful Mel!” You yell over the music. “What were you trying to do?”
“I was going to tell you that you look beautiful.” She slurs in your ear.
“Oh, well thank you. So do you.” You say as you blush.
You don’t move your arms from being wrapped around her waist and she doesn’t say anything. She starts to press her body against yours and your brain blanks for multiple seconds as you just stare at her. She notices your reaction and just winks at you and you know your cheeks are as red as her hair. You decide to spin her around so she doesn’t notice your intense blush.
“Wee” she says when you spin her around. The alcohol is making her go a bit crazy and you’re having fun watching her be drunk. You look over and see Barb dancing without shoes on and you snort.
“You, you’re supposed to be cleaning.” Janine says to Melissa and you both let each other go.
“I am cleaning. Cleaning up the dance floor!” She says and you two high five. You both continue dancing together without putting any hands on each other this time.
A few minutes later the power goes out and you and Melissa look at each other.
“What do we do now?” You ask her and she takes your hand and leads you to the couch. “Melissa, this is the makeout section.” You tell her and she turns to you and smiles.
“I know. You asked what to do now and this came to mind.” She tells you and you quirk an eyebrow at her.
“How drunk are you?” You ask her and she snorts.
“Pretty drunk but my brain still works.” She says and then hums when she starts leaning in closer to you. She goes to kiss you but you place your hand on her lips to stop her. She looks at your hand that’s on her lips then looks back up at you and then pulls back. “Why’d you stop me? Do you not want to kiss me?” She asks and you smile.
“Believe me I do. But I want to kiss sober Melissa, she’ll know what she’s doing and she’ll actually remember too.” You tell her and she frowns.
“Sober Melissa would never try to kiss you.” She tells you and you tilt your head. Mr. Morton did say she might be honest since she’s drunk so here’s your chance to get information.
“And why’s that?” You ask her.
“Because.” She says and sighs. “Because she’s scared.” She tells you. “Scared of putting her heart out there and getting hurt.”
“I don’t think you have to worry about me hurting you.” You tell her and she looks at your eyes. Just then the power comes back on, as well as the music. “Come on, let’s go dance again.” You say to lighten the mood. You pull her back on the dance floor and you both start dancing again. You both dance until the party is over. “I’ll drive you home Melissa.” You tell her and she nods. You, Melissa and Barb go to leave and Janine says goodbye to you three.
“Shiver me timbers tiny buckle! Time to abandon ship!” Barb says and Melissa laughs. Janine takes the cutout before Barb leaves.
“Congrats kid, your party made sea Barbra go full pirate. Didn’t know you had it in you.” Melissa says and goes to leave but Janine stops her.
“Yo-ho-ho leave the room.” Janine says and points to her purse. Melissa pulls out a bottle of alcohol. “Oh.”
“Oops.” Melissa says.
“How’d that get in there.” Janine playfully teases and you look at Melissa.
“How did that get in there? I was with you for most of the night.” You tell her and she just smiles as you leave together.
“Secret.” She tells you and does a shush motion and you giggle. You both get to your car and you turn it on while she buckles herself in. You put the car in drive and start the drive to Melissa’s place when she looks at you.
“What?” You ask her.
“Nothing. What if I still want to kiss you tomorrow morning?” She asks you and you freeze. You think that there’s a good chance she won’t remember any of this so you decide to answer.
“Well you probably won’t remember this so on the off chance you still want to kiss me tomorrow, then you can.” You tell her and she smiles at you. She starts humming on the way to her place.
You reach her place and you help get her inside and to her bed. You remove her boots and blazer before she gets on the bed.
“Do you also want to remove your shirt or just keep it on?” You ask her.
“You just want to see me shirtless.” She accuses while pointing at you.
“That’s not why. Your shirt doesn’t look comfortable to sleep in.” You tell her.
“Oh. It’s fine, I’ve slept wearing worse before.” She says and pulls the blanket on her.
“Alright, good night Melissa.” You say and she falls asleep. You go and get some Advil and a bottle of water and leave it on her nightstand. You leave her place and make sure to lock up with the spare key she gave you a couple months ago. You go home and get ready for bed before falling asleep yourself.
The next morning you’re cleaning up the dishes from breakfast when you hear a knock at your door. You’re still in your pjs, which is a tank top and shorts but you answer the door anyway. You see Melissa standing there looking a little worried.
“Morning Melissa, everything al-”
“I remember everything.” Is all she says and you look at her confused as you replay the conversations with her last night in your head and you realise what she’s talking about.
“Oh, I didn’t think you would.” Is all you say.
“Were you being honest when you said I could kiss you in the morning?” She asks and you nod.
“Ya.” Is all you have the chance to say before her lips are on yours. You immediately kiss her back and wrap your arms around her neck while hers go to your waist.
“I spent most of last night trying to flirt with you.” She tells you when you both pull back.
“I noticed some flirting.” You tell her and you both giggle.
Beautiful Girl.
–CHRIS STURNIOLO FLUFF & SMUT.
Tumblr media
Author's note: thank you for the request, lovely. I really needed some fluff as well so, here you go, I hope you guys like it. Didn't proof read. Do not copy/steal my work. :)
Warnings: smut, not the filth i usually write but still smut, so minors dni!
Tumblr media
Is this the worst day I've ever had at work? It could possibly be. The phones wouldn't stop ringing, people wouldn't stop yelling, unhappy customers kept staring, just chaos. I tried so many times to calm down but every time someone came and just straight up ruined it.
My stomach is empty, I haven't had the chance to have any food today, nor coffee. I honestly don't know how I survived. But even with an empty stomach, I am so stressed, so overwhelmed, that I go home straight away.
I open the door – Chris is sitting on the couch, controller is his hands, his bottom lips trapped in between his teeth to stay focused. I look around and the apartment is a mess. I slam the door behind me and throw my bag on the couch, starting to pick all the mess that Chris has made in swift motions without saying a single word.
"Baby? Hi!" he says and glances at me, not realizing that I'm clearing up the mess like a crazy woman. When he does, he immediately switches off the TV and sits up to come closer to me.
"Woah there, Mr. Clean.." he tries to joke. He hasn't seen the look on my face yet but when he does, I know it, because the playful smile is no longer on his face, "baby, what's going on?"
"Chris. I know we just fucking moved in together but you can clean up too while I'm at work! I'm not your mother!" I yell, frustrated, I haven't stopped my crazy-cleaning.
"Baby, I know, I'm sorry. I lost track of time but I would clean up after the game, I swear." he keeps his voice quiet, he knows I could burst into tears any second now. He comes closer and I shoot him a warning glare, wiping the table like a maniac.
"No! Don't touch me, Chris!" I warn but he doesn't care. He carefully grabs my arms, pulling me into a hug and no matter how much I struggle to get out, when I hear his "baby, come here, I've got you..." I burst into tears, fully giving in his hug.
"Listen to me, I need you to breathe, let it all out, okay?" he whispers and I hold onto him for dear life. My fingers are digging into the fabric of his shirt, my face buried in his chest, making it wet with tears.
"I just.. had the worst day at work and everyone was so fucking rude, and now I'm a bitch to you, and.. I can't handle it." I cry, and cry, and cry.
"It's fine, baby. Completely normal. You had a bad day at work but you're here now, hm?" his hand is on my back, rubbing it soothingly and even by that, I feel less overwhelmed than I did a minute ago, "let me take care of you."
"Chris, I was so useless today, I.. there was nothing I could do, I stared at the customers like a complete dumbass because the boss decided to be a little bitch today!" I rant and his hand is now on the back of my head, fingers buried into my soft hair as he plays with it.
"Your boss is always a little bitch." he chuckles and places a soft kiss on my head, "you said it yourself, babe, there was nothing you could do. It's not on you. Plus, you're the most hard-working woman I know. You can never be useless." he kisses my forehead.
"Now, come on. I've made lunch." he drags me to the kitchen and I look at him.
"You did? What'd you make?" I can practically hear my stomach saying thanks to Chris.
"Spaghetti with that sauce that you taught me, and vegetables. Just how you like it." he grins as he makes me sit at the table, quickly placing a plate in front of me and stroking my head, "now eat up, I've already had lunch but I'll stay with you." he smiles, wiping my tear-stained cheeks.
I want to cry again, not because of work this time, but because of my beautiful boyfriend, "thank you.. so much.." I mutter, a little ashamed of my previous outburst.
When I finished my food, he made us take a shower together where he carefully shampooed my hair, washed my body, kissed it everywhere. He covered me in fluffy towels and carried me to bed, showing me that beautiful smile of his the whole time. How'd I get so lucky?
His fingers touch me so carefully, so gently when he removes the towel to reveal my bare body. I look at him and I get lost in his eyes again, I don't even remember how much I supposedly despised this day.
"You're so beautiful." he whispers and he turns me around, offering to massage my shoulders. He lets me lay on the bed comfortably and sits beside me, massaging my back, squeezing my shoulders, my arms, tickling me every now and then. I really am lucky.
"Chris, I missed you so much today." I mumble, my cheek pressed against the mattress, my eyes closed.
"I missed you too. So much." his lips are now pressed against my back, leaving kisses all over it. Every inch of my body. Down to my legs, everywhere.
I slowly turn around to be able to face him, we're both naked, but he's only looking into my eyes. He seems as lost in them as I am in his. He gently moves himself in between my legs, my warms instinctively wrap themselves around him ans my lips curl up into a sweet smile. His lips find mine and we kiss, and kiss, and kiss. Until we can't breathe anymore. He's kissing my body again, like he's worshipping me, his hands always giving me soothing squeezes.
"Chris.." I look at him and he smiles, grabbing my thighs, placing kisses all over them.
"I know, baby." he says, and I smile.
His lips kiss my body all the way up to my lips and I can't seem to keep my hands to myself. I caress his arms, his back, his curls, his cheeks. Everything I can reach. His fingers travel down to where I need him the most, gently rubbing the area before pushing a finger inside. I gasp.
"Chris.. I need you." I say, moaning softly, my legs wrapping around his waist, not wanting to let him go.
"Just needed to make sure it won't hurt." he smiles before taking his finger out, leaning in to leave another kiss on my lips.
I can feel my heart filling with a warm feeling; not just because of the words he said, but because he's now pushing inside of me. And I lose it. His mouth falls open in a silent moan as he presses his forehead against mine, looking into my eyes the whole time. I'm trying to keep my eyes open, because the things I'm feeling right now, cannot be explained with words.
My hands bury themselves in his damp hair, soft moans leaving my lips every now and then, my feet digging into his back. I can feel myself clenching around him as he fills me with that warm feeling over and over again.
"I love you.. so much, fuck.." he mutters, pushing deeper inside of me as he makes sweet love to me, supporting himself on his elbows as he pushes my hair away from my face, kissing it.
"I love you too, baby.." I whisper, my nails digging into his skin.
"Look at me.." he moans, his hands cup my cheeks to keep my head in place as he thrusts into me, "such a beautiful girl.."
I can't even say anything – instead, I do exactly that. I look at him. I hold onto him. I moan his name, chant it like a mantra. My breasts are pressed against his chest, and I can feel his heartbeat.
"I'm gonna.. cum.." I moan, I am so filled with love, warmth.
"Me too, baby.. I'm gonna.. fuck." his thrusts become a little sloppy as we both try to reach our high.
The moment I finish with a loud moan and a tremble, I can feel him finishing too, inside of me. He moans in my mouth and I hold him tight. He's shaking a little as well, his heart beating faster.
"Sorry I was such a bitch earlier. You're the best boyfriend ever. I just had a really bad day, still, that's not an excuse." I mumble against his shoulder, making sure to place a kiss on his skin with every chance I get.
"We all have our bad days, pretty. I'm glad you're better now. I love you very much." he smiles, hugging my waist tightly.
"I love you too, Chris."
another chase davenport fic???
A/N: Of course! I would love to make another one for you guys. I’m happy that you liked the first one!
Here’s another Chase fan fiction for ya! It’s a little on the short end, but I hope it’s still good!
Might be typos!!
Pairing: Chase Davenport x Reader
Tumblr media
——————🧬——————
“Hey, guys.” I smiled, as I unbuckled my seat and walked out of the hydro-loop.
They all greeted me, as I walked in. “What are you doing here?” Leo asked as they all three of them walked over to me.
I shrug, “Just wanted to drop by, surprise everyone.”
“Well, color me surprised.” Bree said and we exchanged a hug.
“Well, you can color me blue. I think it really goes with my complexion.” Adam said, looking into an imaginary mirror. I shook my head and hugged both him and Leo.
“Where’s Chase?”
“Not sure, said he had something big to show us.”
“Well, I know it’s not his height.” Adam said, walking over to us after grabbing a water from the bar table.
“Guys, I’m ready to show you what I’ve been working on.” Chase stated, and I revealed myself from behind in Adam, Bree and Leo.
“Got room for one more?”
“(Y/N).” He smiled wide and hugged me tight. “What are you doing here? Thought you be on the main land, for a couple more days.”
“Well, I couldn’t wait, and had my trip cut short. So, what was that thing you were showing them?”
“Oh, I.. uh..” He said stumbling over his words, “It’s in the our sleeping quarters, but I need to put the finishing touches on everything.”
“I thought it was done already?”
“It is, just want to make sure it perfect.” He said and ran into the training room.
“Was that weird to you guys?”
“Not from how he acts normally, I’d say that was pretty normal.” Leo responded and the rest nodded their heads in agreement.
—————
We all sat down in the cafeteria area, and ate a light snack. “Hey, don’t you guys think he should be done with the finishing touches, on what he is working on?”
“Yeah, it’d had been a long time.”
“That’s how Chase always is, give him around 2-3 business days.”
“I don’t have time to wait.”
“Hey, wait, wait. Maybe give him a couple more minutes. You know how he needs to work alone.” Bree said holding me back.
“Well, I can help him out. He seems to like when I do that.” I brushed past Bree and Leon quickly ran up to stand in front of me.
“Bree, come on! I need to check on him.”
“Bree is right, (Y/N). He told us himself that he needs peace and quiet.”
“Well, I can still check in and see if he needs anything.”
I walk past them again, this time Adam stands in my ways. “Adam, don’t even try it. Try me, and you won’t get anymore food from the main land.”
I replied and Adam stepped back and they look at him, like he was crazy. “I’m sorry guys, she drives a hard bargain.”
I finally make my way to the room where they all had their sleeping capsules. “Chase, do you need help— Woah..”
I come into the room and looked around. It had been decked out with streamers and confetti littering the floor. Along with everything else you’d see at a party.
It was just so amazing and incredible.
“Guys! You weren’t supposed to let her see yet.”
“Sorry, but she threatened me with food. And you know how important it is to me.” Adam replied and went to sit on the couch.
“Chase, what’s all this for?”
“It was supposed to be a surprise, but it’s for you. All of it is.”
“Even the cake?” I said pointed over to the cake that Adam and Leo were devouring.
“Yes, even the— Adam! Leo!”
“Hey, we deserve a reward after helping you out today.” Leo said, and they continued to eat the cake.
I shake my head with a laugh and noticed that Chase looked sorta down. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, it’s just… I wanted this to be surprise. And it’s all coming apart.”
“No, it’s not.” I said, and as I say that the streamers that were tapped to the sleeping capsules started to lose its stick and the ‘happy birthday’ banner had fell to the floor.
“See?”
“Chase. It’s okay. It doesn’t matter, how many streamers fall or if my cake is half eaten.” I started as I took his face in my hands and looked him in the eyes. “It’s the thought that counts and this was very thoughtful of you. Thank you so much.”
I reassured him and he began to smile a little and it made me smile seeing him do it. I let my hands drop and he took my head in his hands and placed a kiss to my forehead.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it. Let’s enjoy it while we can shall we?” He held his arm out, and I looped my arm around his.
“We shall.”
last post of the night. there's an incredible btvs au for star wars where luke is the slayer and leia is his normal sister from the big city. and that's great, you know, it's an excellent fic. but i've been thinking about how i would partition the au roles and i think my version looks like this:
luke and leia were infant children of [whatever the fuck anakin was mixed up in]. so the watcher council split them up. they sent luke to live in the middle of nowhere with his aunt and uncle, and leia to live in a quiet town that happened to be on the hellmouth. both of them have assigned watchers from then on -- luke's is crazy old ben from out by the edge of town, and leia's is actually her adoptive father.
when it comes time, leia is Called and becomes the slayer. she does great at this for a few years... until [demonic versions of tarkin/vader/death star] arise and they're too much for her to defeat. the ensuing backlash is enough to kill both of leia's parents -- and also leia herself, at least until the paramedics are able to revive her. she's dead for long enough that another slayer gets Called, and woah, what are the odds, it's small-town farmer luke skywalker.
luke keeps having these strange dreams about a girl in white -- and obi-wan doesn't like the idea of an unguarded hellmouth -- so they convince beru and lars that they Have to move to sunnydale. just to fully fulfill luke's duties as the slayer. obi-wan also wants to investigate whatever killed the previous slayer.
one problem: the previous slayer is alive, recently orphaned, pissed as fuck, and VERY displeased to discover that a new-in-town blonde kid, know-it-all english watcher, and two sketchy guys they hitchhiked into town with are all planning on fighting the same enemies that she is.
clapton thought he was the only one who skated through the hallways of grizzly lake highschool. it wasn’t like he gatekeeped it or anything, but it was his thing. and everyone knew that.
so when he felt you brush against him in the hallway this morning, he barely got a glimpse of your shoes and purple hoodie before you skated away. it frustrated him—
wait, skated?
he thought he was crazy. he had to have hallucinated those rollerskates. but the sound when you rushed by him, those had to have been rollerskates. but nobody else but him did that. that was his thing. besides his ego being a bit affected, he was more excited than anything. maybe he could make a new friend. he’d never met anyone else who skated, especially at school. but where did you go? no, more importantly, what class were you in? clapton was not famous for being patient, so this would be difficult.
he begrudgingly made his way to science class, upset that he might not see you until passing period, where the hallway would be filled with what felt like thousands upon thousands of people. no way he was gonna see you during that. and if he tried to find you during lunch? he’d definitely look like a total creep. so this was a lose lose situation. he’d never be able to talk to the stranger with the skates.
this made clapton’s walk to class even more frustrating. throughout the whole day, all he could hope for was to hear your skates against the ground. but he didn’t. not once. it was the end of the day, and he was heading to his last class. clapton was just about done with everything when he saw a pair of skates next to a desk. and just above that desk was a purple hoodie. and even more above that was probably the most gorgeous person he’d ever seen.
he was practically just standing and staring in the doorway. of course you weren’t staring back at him, he thought. you were busy listening to music and getting ready for class, getting your notebooks and everything.
clapton didn’t move until another student shoved him out of the way so they couldd get through, muttering something under their breath in the process. clapton couldn’t care less, though. because there was an open seat next to you and what perfect timing was it that he was the only person who hadn’t sat down yet? this coincidence made him believe that maybe there was a god. maybe it was you.
his mood an entire 180 from how it was less than 2 minutes ago, he sat down right next to you, waiting for you to notice him like an excited child.
not noticing someone had sat next to you, you weren’t expecting someone to be right next to you. normally, as far as first days go, people liked to haze the new kid. so someone looking eager to talk to you was not a good sign.
“hi,” you say slowly, going to look at him.
“hey there, gorgeous.” he said. as soon as that came out of his mouth he knew that was a big yikes. (ayo?? 😟)
your eyes widened. what the hell was his problem?
“woah, coming off a little strong there, aren’t we?” you ask.
how could he save this already trainwreck of a conversation? if he could even call it that.
“sorry, don’t know why i said that. i just, uh,”
shit, shit, shit! think of something clapton!
“you skate, right? that’s pretty cool. i do, too.” he held up his skate board.
still suspicious and not at all buying this “no ill-intentions” act, you pull your skates closer to your desk.
“yeah, i do.”
he continues, “well i just thought that since we both skate we could—“
but he was cut off, as class had apparently started while you two were conversing and your teacher was not happy with either of you.
clapton heard the teacher say both of your last names, followed by a very stern “detention!”
this wasn’t anything surprising to him, but one look at you told him that this was not how you were expecting your first day to go.
you rolled your eyes and shot him a dirty look.
“thanks a lot, davis.”
so instead of a trainwreck, his attempt to talk to you was a total and complete fuck-up.
great.
——————
the end of class came painstakingly slow, and he saw you hurrying to head out so you didn’t have to walk to detention with him. i mean, could he blame you. he practically screwed over your entire day.
clapton always took himself as an optimist, so maybe he could still save this. right?
as you put on your skates, unaware that this might land you in even more trouble, you felt someone tap you on your shoulder.
there was nobody else left in the classroom besides you and the person who you did not wanna see. so you turn around, and with no surprise, there was the douche who landed you in detention.
“oh, are you here to get me suspended, too?” you ask.
he couldn’t help but laugh a bit.
“yeah, i deserve that. sorry about all…this, by the way. i really didn’t mean for you to get in trouble.” he said.
damn, you thought. he’s not a bad actor.
you smiled a not-so-friendly smile back at him. “sure, you didn’t.”
you try to skate away and out of the classroom, but he catches up to you on his skateboard.
“no, seriously! i just wanted to talk to you. i’ve never met anyone who also skates, and i just thought you were really cool and pretty and—“
you stopped skating ahead of him a while ago, but he didn’t notice that, so he kept skateboarding right into an open locker’s door.
you let out a laugh that definitely let every teacher in the vicinity know you weren’t where you were supposed to be right now, but you couldn’t help it.
clapton got up, rubbing the side of his face.
you walk up to him and pat him on the cheek.
“okay, i believe you.” you say, crossing your arms afterwards.
he lets out a smile that you’re pretty sure you’re gonna have to get used to.
“anything i can do to make it up to you?” he asks.
you take off your backpack and shove it in his arms.
“carry this for me?” you say.
“that’s the least i can do.”
“Dash, you’re here so we can work on our project for Lancer’s class. We’re not supposed to be down here.”
“Come on, ghosts aren’t even real. How dangerous can it be down here?”
Danny rolled his eyes. “Dangerous enough that we should really be wearing jumpsuits to protect us from ecto-contamination.”
He walked over to the closet that was down there and pulled out his jumpsuit while Dash laughed at him.
“Matching outfits with your parents? Lame.”
“Don’t complain to me if you get ectoplasm poisoning then.”
Danny pulled on his jumpsuit and groaned at the sticker on his chest. He pulled it off and tossed it away.
“What’s this?” Dash pointed at the deep hole in the wall. Danny walked over to him.
“That’s my parent’s ghost portal. It didn’t end up working though.”
Dash pushed him towards the portal. “Why don’t you go check it out?”
Danny frowned at him and tried to catch his footing. “No. I don’t know what’s wrong with it. I can’t-”
“Haha, go in.”
“Dash, stopping pushing me-”
Danny tripped backwards over the threshold of the portal. He tried to catch himself on something on the wall but all he ended up doing was pressing a button that for some godforsaken reason was on the inside of the portal. It hummed around him and after a few moments everything went green.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Glad to see you’re not dead, nerd.”
Danny looked up to see Dash. It was too early in the morning to deal with him after yesterday.
“You already knew I wasn’t dead.”
“A man can dream.” Danny rolled his eyes at Dash’s comment.
“I remember someone crying a lot of tears yesterday when they thought I was dead.”
A blush rose on Dash’s cheeks. “My adrenaline was running like crazy! It’s not my fault your screams triggered some kind of primal response in my brain!”
“Crying is a primal response now?”
Dash rolled his eyes back at him and crossed his arms. “Have you figured out your whole ghost thing yet?”
“It’s literally been one day.” Danny stared at him. “How could I have figured anything out yet?”
Dash leaned in close to Danny and he glanced at Dash’s lips for a moment before his gaze darted back to Dash’s. “Maybe your parents have some sort of cure. Or maybe it was a one time thing. I don’t know.”
“Why do you care so much? It’s literally your fault this is happening.”
Dash raised a hand and looked like he was reaching to place it on Danny’s shoulder. “I just-”
Dash was interrupted by someone clearing their throat behind them. They turned around and were met with Sam and Tucker. She was glaring at Dash with her arms crossed.
“What are you friends with him now?” Sam asked, angrily gesturing at Dash.
“Woah, so what if he wants to be friends with me?” He asked, stepping towards her.
She barked out a laugh. “Come on! You’ve been bullying him the entire time I’ve known both of you. Why would he want to be friends with you? You must be blackmailing him or something.”
“Sam, he’s not blackmailing me.”
“How can we trust that? You could be lying because he’s blackmailing you.” Tucker frowned at him and reached out a hand, placing it on Danny’s shoulder. “I don't want what happened in elementary school to happen again.”
Danny shrugged it off. “That’s not what’s going on. Why can’t you just trust me on this?”
“Because this isn’t smart.” Sam said. “Why do you guys need to be friends?”
Danny threw his hands into the air. “Why are you getting so defensive about this? You’ve literally only seen us have this one conversation and you’re already mad at me. For all you know we could have been assigned a project together or he’s asking about his tutoring sessions with Jazz. Maybe he had to reschedule and wanted me to tell Jazz.”
Tucker shuffled where he stood but Sam still stared at him with crossed arms.
“Yeah but are you going to tell us the real reason?”
“Does it matter, Sam?”
Out of the corner of his eye Dash saw Danny start slowly sinking. He panickingly grabbed Danny’s arm to prevent him from sinking any further into the ground. Danny tried to keep his expression neutral but Dash could tell he was shaken.
“Oh. Is that what’s happening?” Sam looked between the two of them.
“Is what happening?” Danny asked, frowning at her.
“What kind of enemies to lovers bullshit is this?” Dash’s eyes widened at her outburst. What was she talking about? What did she think was happening?
His gaze landed on where his hand was still wrapped around Danny’s upper arm and he pulled it back like he’d been burned. Sam scoffed.
“Sam-” Tucker started but she interrupted him.
“Do you even realize how toxic that kind of relationship can be? He’s just going to hurt you.”
Danny recoiled at her words. “What are you even talking about?”
“The fact that you two seem to be getting real cozy with each other? Are you dating or something?”
Dash stepped in front of Danny. “How shallow do you have to assume the only reason I’d be talking to him now is if we’re dating? For your information, we used to be friends as kids.” Dash frowned at her and watched as she backed up. “Just because you’re self conscious about your major crush on Fenton doesn’t mean you have to take it out on us because we’re having a simple conversation.”
A blush appeared on Sam’s cheeks before she angrily stormed away.
“Sorry.” Tucker said as he looked between them again before he followed after her.
Danny watched them as they walked into the school. He was quiet for a few moments before he turned his gaze back to Dash.
“Sam has a crush on me?”
Dash groaned. “That is what you’re focused on?” He started walking towards the school.
Danny followed next to him. “But I didn’t know that! How did you know that?”
“You’re just about the only person who didn’t know, Fenton.”
Dash pushed through the front doors of the school. Danny had a dazed look on his face.
“Is that why everyone calls me clueless?” He whispered.
“Clueless strikes again.”
Danny frowned up at him. “Oh what, youre so observant, are you?”
Dash pushed open the front door of the school. It swung closed behind them. “More than you. I’m not even friends with Manson and I could see the blackened heart eyes she was giving you.”
Danny shuffled his backpack on his shoulders as they walked down the hall. “I’ve just never seen her that way. I don’t like her like that.”
Dash’s brows shot up on his forehead. “You don’t?”
Danny shook his head. He veered off to the right and Dash followed him to his locker. “She's just a friend to me.”
Dash leaned against the lockers while Danny tried to open his but his hand just ended up passing through the dial lock. He groaned.
“Maybe you should tell her that, then. Get it over with so she doesn’t try to kill anyone that even thinks to get close to you.”
Danny rolled his eyes. He finally got his locker open. “She wouldn’t kill anyone for getting close to me.”
“I don’t know.” Dash drawled. “She looked like she was gonna claw my eyes out back there. Like a creepy bat girl.”
Danny slammed his locker shut and turned to look at Dash. “You know, if we’re going to be doing whatever this is, I would appreciate you not making comments about my friends like that.”
“But she can talk to me like that?”
Danny frowned. “No. I literally told her there was no reason for her to be talking to you like that for having a simple conversation with me.”
“But she’s allowed to not like me?”
“That’s your own fault.” Danny rolled his eyes. “She has every right not to like you.”
Dash huffed. He was about to say something but then Danny started sinking into the floor again. Danny panickingly grabbed Dash’s forearm to prevent himself from sinking any further in. Dash pulled him up and when he set him back down, his feet were solid again. Dash looked around them and miraculously no one else in the hall saw what happened.
“I’m already over this.” Danny mumbled as he let go of Dash.
“Do you think you’ll get control over it eventually?” Dash asked him.
“Hopefully. Otherwise I’ll probably have no choice but to ask my parents for help. I really don’t want to do that though.”
“Maybe we could do some training? Or practice? You won’t get used to your powers if you just try to ignore them. If you try to do it, then maybe you’ll understand how to not do it.”
Danny nodded. “That makes sense. I guess that’s what we’ll have to do.”
They came to a split in the hallway. Danny looked up at him.
“Well, I’m going this way.” Danny hooked a thumb over his shoulder as he turned to face Dash.”
Dash nodded. “See you later. Hopefully you don’t drop anything today.”
“Hopefully. We’ll see.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
Thirty four beakers.
Danny was finally getting ahold of his powers and all it took was thirty four dropped beakers and a lifetime ban from handling anything fragile while he was at school.
Aside from the frequent ghost sighting, things were starting to look up.
“Manson!”
If only Dash could learn to keep his thoughts to himself when it came to his friends.
“What is this garbage?”
He stomped up to where the three of them were sitting at their table in the cafeteria. Sam frowned at him.
“It’s not garbage! It’s recyclable organic matter.”
“It’s garbage.” Danny and Tucker said together.
Danny gasped out a breath of cold air. He looked around him. He saw a lunch lady ghost behind the food counter.
Dash followed his gaze to where the ghost was. He saw it just as she walked behind the wall.
Dash looked back at Sam and held up his plate of mud, pushing himself between Danny and his friends. “When I asked for a mud pie, I thought I was gonna get a mud pie. Not a literal mud pie!”
“Actually, it’s topsoil.”
“Whatever. Are you going to actually eat this garbage?”
Danny slipped away while Dash argued with his friends. Maybe Dash arguing with his friends could actually be useful for something for once.
He found somewhere to hide and transformed. He flew invisibly back to the cafeteria to the room the lunch ladies worked in. She was floating there looking around and the food and the lunch trays. She kind of looked like Tucker’s grandma.
She caught sight of him. Danny was ready to bolt as she floated up to him, but she wasn’t making any moves to attack him.
“Hello.” She said sweetly. “Can you help me? Today’s lunch should be meatloaf, but there’s not any here. Did someone change the menu?”
“Oh. Uh, yeah. They’re trying something new this week.”
Danny jumped back as her hair suddenly flamed up with her anger.
“The menu has been the same for fifty years!” She shouted at him.
“Wait-”
She levitated some plates and shot them at him. Danny dodged and caught them, avoiding getting hit. What was up with this lady? Why was the menu so important?
“The menu is sacred! Lunch is sacred!” She spoke in her sickly sweet voice again. “Would you like some cake?”
Danny looked at her, confused. “If you’re offering-”
“No one gets cake until the menu is changed back!”
She held her arms up and meat started flying towards her from every direction. It engulfed her and turned her into a meat monster.
“Meat is the most important food group! Without meat, you’ll remain puny and muscle-less!”
“I’m not arguing with you there.” Danny mumbled. He geared up for a kick but she grabbed his ankle and sent him flying across the room.
“I will restore the sanctity of the lunch menu! As soon as I find out who changed it!”
She disappeared in a tornado of meat.
The ghost was gone for now. Danny flew through the wall of the school and collapsed onto the ground. He transformed back and tried to push himself up. He was so tired. He’d never used his powers like that before. He groaned.
“Hey.”
Danny opened his eyes and looked up. Dash was standing there with his hand outstretched to Danny. He looked at it for a second before he reached up and grabbed it, pulling himself up with Dash’s help.
“Thanks. That ghost wiped me out.”
“No problem. I wanted to make sure that ghost didn’t kill you. I was trying to find you when I saw you fly through the wall and hit the ground out here.”
Danny nodded. “Yeah that wasn’t fun.” He looked down and saw that he was still holding onto Dash’s hand. He pulled it away and coughed. He hooked a thumb over his shoulder. “I should go check on Sam and Tucker though. I want to make sure they’re okay.”
“The ghost attack was pretty contained.” Dash said. “I’m sure they’re fine.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Ah.” Dash said. “That’s fair. Sorry about dragging out that argument with her.”
Danny shrugged and started walking away. “It distracted them long enough to let me slip away for a bit so. No harm done. At least not to me.”
“Good luck. Hopefully she doesn’t chew your head off.”
Danny pulled the door Dash had walked out open and stepped back inside the school, shaking the hand that had been holding Dash’s. He made his way through the hallways to find Sam and Tucker.
Sam slammed open the cafeteria doors as Danny stumbled down the hallway.
“I still can’t believe you’re talking to that meathead.” She shot at him with no preamble. “He literally antagonizes all of us. And then you ditch us to go meet up with him? I saw you two outside.”
“Sam-”
“What can you say to defend him?” She turned to look at him. “He beats you up all the time.”
“Not anymore.” Danny said.
“What?” Sam stopped walking.
“He doesn’t beat me up anymore.”
She didn’t say anything to that for a few moments. She shook her head. “I still don’t trust him. I don’t get how you could forgive him so easily.”
“I-” He stopped. Had he forgiven Dash?
Sam shook his head. “Let’s just get to class.”
Danny looked around them. “Where’s Tucker?”
She rolled her eyes. “He said he smelt meat so he went to track it down through the hallways. I don’t know if he’s found it yet.”
Danny scrunched up his nose. He knew exactly what meat Tucker was smelling. “He’s just gonna go eat whatever random mystery meat he finds?”
“Apparently.”
Danny didn’t respond after her last stilted reply. He followed behind her to their next class. When they walked in she went straight to her seat but he looked up and made eye contact with Dash. Dash gave him a questioning look and Danny just shrugged at him before sitting back down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dash walked into the Nasty Burger. Football had just ended and he was hungry.
As he was walking to the counter he saw Danny sitting at a table with his friends. Dash smirked and walked over to them.
“Hey, nerds.” He placed a hand on the table and leaned his weight into it.
Sam rolled her eyes. “What do you want?”
“I just came to say hi to my favorite nerds. Is there a problem with that?”
“If we’re your favorite does that mean you’ll stop making fun of us?” Tucker asked thoughtfully. “Maybe that wouldn’t be so bad, Sam.”
“He’s not going to stop making fun of us, Tucker. The two of them are over there ‘trying to be friends.’” She said with air quotes. “And he still picks on us all the time.”
“I’ve tried talking to him about it, Sam, but he has a hard time with it.”
She shot Danny a look. “So why be friends with him? Why give him a chance? What do you see in him?”
“Just because he doesn’t like you-”
Sam scoffed. “Maybe you’re too insecure about your own crush on Danny.”
Danny whipped his head to look at her.
“What?” Dash laughed it off. “What are you talking about, Manson?”
“Yeah, Sam, what are you talking about?” Danny stared at her.
“Isn’t that what’s been happening this whole time?” She shot back at them. “He’s got some kind of weird feelings for you, he’s trying to get into your pants. Get on your good side. The pulling the girl’s pigtails because you like her bullshit? Don’t you see how weird his sudden change in actions towards you is?”
“What about your sudden change in actions?” Danny shot at her. “Do you realize how much of an asshole you’ve been lately?”
“Well, maybe if you weren’t friends with-”
Danny threw his hands up in the air. “God forbid if I make new friends! Or try to get along with someone instead of fighting! Or even make decisions for myself.”
“Danny-”
He cut her off and stood up. “No I’m-” He gasped and Dash saw his ghost sense fog out of his mouth. He frowned. “I’m going home. I need some time alone.” He turned and started walking towards the door.
“Danny!” Dash followed behind Danny out of the Nasty Burger.
The ghost was flying above the parking lot shooting ecto-blasts every which way.
The door slammed behind Dash and Danny turned his head to look at him.
“I need some time to think. Please just go back inside.”
He called on his transformation rings. Once they passed across his body he jumped up and flew into the air towards the ghost.
He watched Danny fight the ghost. He could tell he was angry. He was sloppy today.
Danny missed a dodge and got hit through the air by the ghost. He ended up turned facing the opposite direction so he didn’t see it start to charge at him.
Dash’s heart raced as he watched the ghost fly up to Danny. His heart stirred with feelings he wanted to push down. He didn’t need to put himself in danger for Danny. He didn’t feel that way. Danny didn’t feel that way about him.
But as the ghost got closer, Dash couldn’t help as the anxiety skyrocketed. His resolve broke and he picked up a big piece of asphalt off the ground and chucked it at the ghost. It turned to look at him.
Dash froze when the ghost’s eyes landed on him. What was he doing? Was Danny really that important to him now?
The ghost’s mouth filled up with ectoplasm and shot it towards.
He wouldn’t be able to move in-
Danny knocked Dash out of the way of the ecto-blast just in time. His arms wrapped around Dash’s chest and he flew back. The blast hit the ground where he’d been standing just a moment before.
Dash wrapped his arms around Danny as they slammed into the ground. He groaned as his back slid across the pavement and Danny looked down at him. He started feeling the back of Dash’s head, running his fingers through his hair.
Dash opened his eyes and looked up at Danny. He looked panicked. Like something was wrong, but he literally just prevented anything from being wrong.
“Dash, are you okay?”
He nodded. “Back hurts. Head’s fine.”
Danny leaned down and lay his head on Dash’s chest. Dash’s hands slid down Danny’s back and rested at his side and he closed his eyes again. He really didn’t like this whole ghost hunting thing.
The ghost roared behind them and Dash felt Danny’s head shoot back up.
“Shit! How did I forget about the ghost?”
Dash waved his hand above him. “Go. I’m fine. I’m just gonna get my bearings on the ground here.”
Dash listened as Danny finished fighting the ghost. It ended quickly and he could hear Danny’s footsteps as he walked to stand over Dash. Dash opened his eyes and his heart jumped at the way the sun shone on Danny’s white hair.
Danny held his hand out to Dash and he slowly reached up and grabbed it. Danny pulled him to his feet and looked at their hands. He let go a moment later.
“I think we need a new rule. No interfering with ghost attacks.”
“What?” Dash frowned at him. “That thing was about to gobble you.”
Danny crossed his arms. “Yeah, but if I didn’t get to you on time you could've gotten very badly hurt. I thought I knocked your head on the ground when I knocked you out of the way.”
Dash shrugged. “But you didn’t.”
“We can’t rely on that.” Danny looked away from him. “Just promise you won’t interfere like that again?”
Dash wasn’t sure if that was something he could actually do. But one look at the expression on Danny’s face told Dash he should at least try.
“Yeah. I promise.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danny was nodding off in the middle of class. They were given time to work on their homework today but all Danny wanted to do was sleep. Having to fight all these ghosts all the time was making his life way too stressful. He wasn’t to sleep or get his homework done or even get to class on time. It was starting to get to him.
He yawned. While his eyes were shut he heard someone sit down next to him. He opened his eyes and saw Dash in the next seat over.
“You look tired.”
“Thanks, captain obvious. I didn’t realize.”
Dash shrugged. He slouched back in his seat. “Your friends are whispering about you back there.”
Danny turned and looked over his shoulder at where Sam and Tucker sat at the table in the back of the classroom. When they saw him looking Sam turned back around. Tucker just waved at him awkwardly.
Danny waved back at him. “I wish they’d just sit over here with me.”
Dash waved them off. “Who needs ‘em if they’re going to be treating you like that.”
Sam snorted behind them. Dash turned to look at her. “You got something to say Manson?”
“As if we could treat him any worse than anything you’ve ever done to him.”
Dash shrugged as he faced back towards the front of the classroom. “Hey, at least my character arc is positive. I’ve made amends.”
“You’ve hardly even done anything. What kind of character arc have you actually had?”
“I-” Dash started but then he stopped. His brows dropped down and he looked at Danny.
It hit Danny then that the only thing that really changed with Dash’s behavior was how he treated Danny. He didn’t pick on him anymore and he had cared about him, but he immediately resumed the same habits with both of Danny’s friends. Any time that Dash covered for Danny’s whereabouts during ghost fights, the only thing he could think to do was antagonize Sam and Tucker. He could never think up any actual excuses that wouldn’t cause more problems.
Danny missed part of the conversation. By the time he tuned back in, Sam was glaring at Dash from across the room.
“Just because he’d rather spend time with me than you-”
Danny’s ghost sense picked that moment to go off and he couldn’t think of a more convenient time for it to have happened. He stood up sharply and made his way out of the classroom quickly. The door slammed behind him as it closed and he was a couple steps down the hallway when the door opened behind him again.
“Danny, wait-”
“Why do you do that?” Danny turned and frowned at him.
“What?” Dash’s brows furrowed.
“Why do you dig at them like that? Make them feel bad about what’s going on?”
“Manson-” Dash started but Danny interrupted him.
“No. Sam and Tucker are mad at me because of you. They think I’m always ditching them to go hang out with you instead.”
“That’s not my fault!” Dash shouted back at him. “That’s the ghost’s fault!”
“But they don’t know that!” Danny stared at him. “All they know is that I’m on good terms with you now and I disappear all the time. They know something is up.”
Dash shuffled where he stood. He knew he was causing a rift between Danny and his friends. No matter how much he liked to antagonize them, he wasn’t proud of it. He wasn’t trying to put distance between them.
Danny sighed. “She keeps making jabs about us being together like it would be crazy. Like it would be the worst thing in the world.” Danny looked up at Dash. “I would like it if it wasn’t the craziest thing in the world. If it could actually be true. But with the way you treat my friends-” He shook his head.
Everything around Dash stopped. What?
“Danny-”
A blue mist came out of Danny’s mouth again. He shook his head.
“I gotta go.”
“Wait-”
Danny ran around the corner away from Dash.
“What did you do to him?”
Dash looked down the hallway to see Sam glaring at him. Tucker stood next to her.
“What?” He asked.
“He just ran away from you? What did you do to him?” She stomped her way over to him.
“Nothing!” Dash held his hands up in a surrendering motion. “We were just talking and he had to go-”
“We’re in the middle of class. What else would he need to be doing right now?”
“Yeah. Why would he be leaving?” Tucker asked.
“He, uh, went to-”
Sam ran past him and around the corner Danny went down, Tucker close on her heels. Dash followed behind them knowing Danny would already be gone but they didn’t stop there. They ran down the hallway and out the door leading outside.
“Danny?” She shouted. “Where are you?”
Dash was the only one that noticed Danny floating in the sky. He was fighting an animal type ghost.
“Uh, guys, I think we should probably go back inside.”
He pointed up at the sky and Sam and Tucker followed his finger. Sam’s eyes widened and she looked around the front of the school again.
“Danny!”
Phantom must’ve heard that one because he turned his head to look down at them. The ghost took that moment to hit Phantom, sending him flying through the air. Now he was much closer to them.
This ghost looked horrifying. It was animalistic but it looked uncannily like a person. Stringy, hair looking fur and teeth curved into a creepy smile.
“Get to safety! Now!” Phantom shouted down at them. He shot another ectoblast at the ghost.
“We have to find Danny first!” Sam shouted in a panic.
“He’s not out here.” Dash turned to go back inside the school. “Let’s just listen to Phantom and get somewhere safe.”
“That hallway doesn’t lead anywhere except outside! Where else could he be?” Sam asked, still turning around looking for Danny.
“He didn’t-”
“Danny!” Tucker shouted.
Dash growled. Why didn’t they just listen to him?
The ghost let out a shriek and Dash squeezed his eyes shut and covered his ears.
“Go inside, now!”
Dash’s eyes opened at Phantom’s shout. He looked back up into the air.
Dash stared at the ghost that was hovering in the air in front of them. It was cackling, its head thrown back into the air. It looked back at the ground directly at Sam and promptly shot an ectoblast out of its mouth. Dash saw Sam’s mouth open the slightest bit and everything slowed down. Danny turned, following the path of the blast but when he tried to fly towards her the ghost grabbed onto him, trapping him.
This was one of Danny’s best friends. She might hate Dash’s guts but Danny cared for her more than she hated him.
Without another thought, he pushed himself into a run and sprinted his way across the grass. He put himself between her and the ghost and grabbed her just as the blast hit him in the back.
He could hear Sam scream as they fell to the ground. Tucker was shouting from somewhere else but Dash couldn’t make much out past the ringing in his ears. He could hear scuffling in the air above him but it was muffled. The pain in his back radiated out and he could feel it in every jostle as someone shook his body.
Everything started fading away and Dash hoped he wasn’t dying. Distantly, he wondered if this is how Danny felt when he died in the portal.
The voices fell away and so did Dash.
~~~~~~~~~~
Slowly, the world came back to him. The first thing he noticed was the steady beeping nearby. The second thing was how bright the lights were against his eyelids.
He groaned and he heard some shuffling to his left. Someone placed a hand on his arm.
“Dash?”
His heart skipped a beat and he slowly pried his eyes open. He was laying in a bed in the hospital and Danny was standing to his left.
“Danny?” Dash croaked out. He tried to sit up but Danny pushed him back down against his pillows.
“You shouldn’t move too much. You got hit pretty bad.”
“You got the ghost though?” Dash asked.
“Yeah, he got the ghost.”
Sam and Tucker walked into the room and stood next to Danny.
“Uh, no I asked if Phantom got the-” Dash fumbled, trying to cover it up.
“It’s okay, Dash.” Danny said. “I told them. I thought it might be better if they knew.”
Dash looked at Danny’s two friends. They didn’t look like they were mad at him anymore. Or like they hated him. It was relieving that they knew. Danny didn’t have to keep avoiding them or keep secrets anymore.
“If we’d known in the first place we could’ve helped, you know.” Sam said, shooting both of them a look.
“Yeah. A team always needs a tech guy.” Tucker crossed his arms in mock frustration.
“But we do understand why you guys have been acting weird for the past couple months.” Sam turned to look at Dash. “Thank you for helping him even though you didn’t have to.”
Dash nodded, dumbfounded.
She stared at him a moment longer and pulled her gaze away. “And thank you for knocking me out of the way of that hit. Sorry it landed you here.”
Dash shook his head. “You’re Danny’s friends. You’re important to him. I didn’t want you to get hurt because of all this ghost stuff.”
“That’s a nice thought, but you should also try not to get yourself hurt.” Sam said.
“Yeah.” Danny frowned. “You promised.”
Dash shrugged. “We can call it karma.”
Tucker stepped forward. “We need a name.”
“A name?” Danny looked up at Tucker.
“Yeah, like a cool ghost hunting team name.” He waved his hands in the air. “What about Team Phantom?”
Sam snorted. “That sounds dumb.”
Tucker planted his hands on his hips. “Well, do you have any better ideas then?”
Danny’s hand slowly made his way down from his arm to his hand as they talked. He entwined his fingers with Dash’s and gave him a squeeze. Dash squeezed his hand back.
Everything would be okay. Everything was okay.

"Can I see Shanks now?" Luffy pouted, stomping on the ground.
Shanks had asked you to take care of Luffy for a while, and you were hoping that he would be chill and just play with some blocks or something, but the kid hadn't shut up for three hours at this point and you were amazed. For a seven year old, he sure had too much energy.
"Shanks is busy," you told him as you did the dishes, and Luffy quickly attached onto your leg. "He'll be back tonight though, I promise."
"But I wanna see him nowwwwww!" he whined, making you struggle to hold back an eye roll. "He's probably doing cool pirate stuff without me, huh?"
You wiped your hands dry and pulled Luffy off of your leg, leaning down to his level.
"Luffy," you said, your tone soft. "I know you wanna see Shanks do his pirate stuff real bad, but you're going to have to leave him alone for a little. He is super busy today because of that other crew that showed up."
"But I wanna fight them too!"
"I know you do, but you're gonna have to train and get a crew of your own to fight a pirate crew like that, Luffy, do you understand?"
"Well, when can I do that?" He poked out his bottom lip and crossed his arms.
"When you're grown up and ready to go. Once you're strong enough to take down this whole island, you can become a big bad pirate yourself."
"You think so, y/n?!"
You nodded, a smile plastered on your lips. "I know so."
Luffy jumped up and down in victory exclaiming, "I'm gonna be a pirate!" over and over again in a singsongy voice.
And right on cue, Shanks opened the door, bloodied and covered in bruises.
"Shanks!!" Luffy yelled, running over to the redhead at the door and jumping on him like he didn't have a single injury.
"Woah there, kiddo," Shanks laughed, setting Luffy down. "I don't know if I can take one of your big bad Luffy hugs right now."
"Are you okay?" Luffy asked, tilting his head. He was shocked to see Shanks in a condition like that, especially since he was used to Shanks being a more peaceful guy who seemed to avoid fights if possible. And if he did get into fights, he never looked like this.
"I'm fine! This is nothin'! Though, y/n, do you mind grabbing me a beer from the fridge?"
You crossed your arms and looked at Shanks with an unamused expression. "Luffy, go play in the backyard for a little."
Luffy saluted at you and quickly made his way outside.
"What's that look for?!" Shanks asked, throwing his hands in the air.
"First of all, I'm not going to grab you a beer when you look like this. And second, why the hell do you look like that in the first place?!"
"Those were some pretty pesky pirates." he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Gave us some trouble before we kicked their asses."
"They're gone though, right?"
"Of course! What do I look like?" Ignoring your comment from earlier, Shanks walked to the fridge and cracked open a beer. You just rolled your eyes and grabbed a wet rag to clean him up a bit.
"Well, thanks for getting rid of them, Shanks, and tell the rest of the crew too."
"Can do!" Shanks said with a smile as you began taking off his shirt to find little scratches that were surrounded by blood and dirt. You cleaned him up with the wet rag, making sure to avoid the deeper cuts that you would clean more thoroughly later as to not infect them.
You didn't even notice Shanks staring at you with hearts in his eyes until you were finished.
"What?" you said, trying to hide the blush forming on your cheeks.
"Thanks for cleaning me up, cutie." He winked at you and set his beer down before pulling you into his arms, pressing kisses all over your forehead.
You pushed him away, giggling and readjusted yourself so you could better be in a position to kiss him back.
"You know I suck at babysitting, Shanks. I can't believe you left me with Luffy today. The poor kid was bored out of his mind watching me make maps."
"I can make it up to you." he told you, giving you puppy dog eyes and puckering out his lips.
You just giggled and pressed your lips to his several times before pulling him into your arms.
He sighed lovingly and breathed in your scent before hugging you back.
"Alright, big guy, let's get these deep cuts fixed up."

Words: 1k
Warning: none just some fluff
Tumblr media
Yesterday, you got a call from one of Pablo's teammates to come pick him up from training. He twisted his knee while trying to catch a ball and couldn't put any weight on it for a few days.
Worried, you drove to the training grounds as fast as you could, probably getting a few tickets for speeding, but you didn't care. Your Pablito was hurt, and he needed someone to care for him. (Even if he acted like he didn't want to.)
You arrived and jumped out of the car, hurrying to the entrance of Ciutat Esportiva. At the entrance hall, you were already greeted by Pedri and Frenkie, who held up a tired and grumpy-looking Pablo.
"Well, good morning to you three," you greeted them, a slight frown on your face.
"Morning," both of them greeted you at the same time.
Pablo murmured a small 'Hola' and tried to stand a bit straighter, which nearly made him fall over again if Frenkie didn't grab him tighter.
"Woah woah there, you just got a shit-ton of painkillers. Slow down a bit." Pablo got scolded by Frenkie, who grabbed Pablo's waist with his free hand.
"Ok, how about you two help me load Pablo into the car, and I will ask him what happened when he's normal again. So you two can quickly go back to training." You received nods from all three and made your way to your car.
They helped Pablo into your car and buckled him up safely before closing the door.
"Ok, so our doctora gave us these painkillers for him if the pain gets too strong, and some crutches for the next few days," Pedri explains while loading them into the back of the car.
"Thanks, guys. I'll see you on Sunday, and I'm going to update you on how he's doing." Hugging them goodbye, you make your way home. Pablo was already fast asleep before you even started the car.
After a ten-minute drive, you parked in your driveway and leaned over to wake Pablo up. He stirred around as he felt your soft lips kissing his forehead. Opening one eye, he glanced at you, a faint smile decorating his lips.
"Good morning bebe, wanna go inside?" You asked Pablo, your voice so soft it was barely a whisper.
Earning a slight nod from Pablo, you round your car and help him out. You try to get to the living room as fast as you can so Pablo can sit down again, his face showing in how much pain he is with every step he takes.
After you sat Pablo down, you immediately made sure he was comfortable, putting a pillow under his leg and making sure he sat comfortably.
The whole time, Pablo didn't say anything at all, he just stared at the blank wall in front of him, a constant frown on his face. You weren't faced by his mood at all, you know how he can be when he's hurt or even worse, sick.
Pablo is a very competitive and energetic person, if he doesn't move for an hour or more, he will go crazy. He would start to fidget, pace around, he would do anything to move around. So, not being able to train or move is pure torture for him.
This side of Pablo was not new to you; you had experienced many of his injuries in the last two years of your relationship and had learned how to handle them quite well.
So, after you made sure he was comfortable enough, you sat next to him and waited for him to look at you. It didn't take long, Pablo can never resist your eyes, he always loses himself in their depth.
"I understand that you're feeling down, Amor. It's completely normal to feel that way sometimes. But I want you to know that things will get better soon. You're not alone, and I'm here to support you in any way I can." You tried to reassure him softly, kissing his head before trying to stand up again.
You didn't come that far before you felt Pablo grabbing your arm softly.
He asked if you could stay and cuddle with him for a while. His shyness was evident as he spoke softly and vulnerably, revealing his need for comfort and affection. You felt sympathy for him and understood his desire for physical connection.
"Of course, I can come here amor."
You opened your arms and made space for him to lay on top of you. He immediately cuddled himself into you and smushed his face into your chest. Your fingers found his silky locks instantly, scratching his scalp slightly.
The two of you stayed like this until you heard soft snores coming from Pablo, you looked down to see him completely passed out. His long lashes brushed against his cheeks, and his features showed nothing but pure relaxation.
You smiled down at your adorable boyfriend before you gently moved him off of you and stood up to make some lunch for the two of you.
After you woke Pablo up to eat lunch together, you helped him upstairs to take a shower and lay down again. You helped him to get dressed in his pyjamas before cuddling yourself next to him.
For the next few days, his recovery was your top priority. You made sure he had everything he needed to be comfortable, from fresh pillows and blankets to a steady supply of pain relievers. You encouraged him to rest often, reminding him that his body needed time to heal. Whenever he was awake, you were there to provide a listening ear or a comforting presence, and you did your best to keep him entertained by playing FIFA, and every single videogame you own. You also diligently applied ice packs to his knee, monitoring his swelling and checking for any signs of infection.
Despite the long hours and the exhaustion that came with caring for someone else, you felt a deep sense of satisfaction in knowing that you were doing everything you could to help him recover as quickly as possible.
Even if Pablo didn't show it that much, he was grateful for every second you cared for him. You were his rock, the only thing keeping him sane in his crazy lifestyle, and he hopes you know at least a little bit how much your presence makes his life brighter in every aspect.
