Ok generally, what if the TMA fears got involved in Witherburn’s shituation?

The Reporter starts out following the Eye, but ends up shifting towards the Hunt while trying to save her friends and catch the kidnapper.

At the S1 finale, she take’s Death’s offer. She and Birdie start to fall apart, but Alice trouble staying that way. As time moves on, she realizes she still needs to hunt. And she knows when people are going to die. (She has death ‘visions’ similar to the ones mentioned in TMA, but with vines that twist and shift and move and squirm)

As she realizes this, she realizes another thing: the Clarks are locked up, but there are many, many people who contributed to the deaths of her friends and community. And she can shift the vines that tell her when death is coming, and who it’s coming to.

So she hunts. She finds information and uses it to track her prey. Leave hints that they’ll die, enough for them to get really scared, like she and her friends had been all the last year. Sometimes she takes them out herself. Sometimes she gets the vines to do it. Regardless, she serves the end well.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give everyone a general update on season 2. We are a bit behind schedule (I always overestimate my ability to write while working full time and doing school. Recent political stuff + life change’s didn’t help) but never fear. We are currently holding auditions for local VA’s so we are currently in the audition and script editing process. Soon enough we will start the recording process.

Once the recording process is done I will probably announce the Season 2 premiere date. Until then I will just say that it’s looking like August. The more stages of the production process we go through the more information I’m able to give.

However also expect some surprises in the near future 👀

I apologize for being silent on this for so long, and hopefully this update was helpful.

Very minor witherburn theory:

Mr. Pickler is a family friend of the reporter.

My evidence:

- in most episodes, the monster of the week is brought to us by mr Pickler. She also after recounting his claims often gently teases him for it, however mr Pickler never seems to take offence in it, kind of like he knows it’s not from a place of malice, but a place of joking around, so the reporter clearly feels comfortable poking fun at him knowing it wouldn’t make him upset

- the reporter also frequently states concern for his well-being when theorizing what he really experienced in monster of the week, worrying for his safety, sleep, mental state, and health, and while the reporter is a compassionate person, she clearly does worry about mr Pickler

- unlike her interview with dyce, which was via call to protect her identity, the reporter felt comfortable interviewing mr Pickler in person, meaning she felt comfortable with him knowing she does the show, her face, and her name, as shown when he also almost said her real name at the beginning of the interview, before correcting himself and saying “the reporter” in a slightly amused tone, like indulging in his friend’s kid’s passion project

- in that same interview, when she gets anxious about the pieces she’s putting together, mr Pickler is quick to reassure her that he and the town has her back, and says that these are the people who raised her, and while he might just be referring to the community, it could be hinting to it. Also she’s more comfortable with him knowing she’s the reporter than her parents, kind of like going to an uncle instead of your parents when you’re need to talk through something that they would just scold you for

Then again I could just be desperately reaching for a theory while I claw at the walls of my enclosure waiting for season two

By the way, if you’re like hmm I don’t want to listen to this because it sounds like welcome to night vale all over again, I get it because thats what I first thought, but once it gets into the plot it gets REALLY good and regardless its still a really good show! definitely go listen to it if you enjoy wtnv, you will love this show
