Digital Temples are really lovely, and I adore the fact that all these temples are suddenly popping up (I actually have been thinking of dedicating one to two deities as well), but the usage of the words "priests" and "priestesses" is genuinely concerning to me. It makes me feel a bit wary.

Why, might you ask, would that even be a problem? Let me explain.

These words carry a lot of power with them. With these words comes the implication of religious authority. If I went around saying that I was a Priest of Hermes himself, it asserts a sense of power and authority in a religious space. There are a lot of people who would love to use that power negatively; I have been directly impacted by this many times over. I am always wary of people who use this title as a result of what I've seen and experienced.

Those titles also carry the implication of having an established religious knowledge that others do not. It's not just a title used to identify people who are in charge of a Temple; it is a title that explicitly identifies someone as a researched, trustworthy, religious figure who is extremely experienced. This ties into how these words carry power. A lot of people I've seen stake claim to this title have also claimed to speak for the gods directly. Either that, or it is often assumed of them, and that bothers me a lot. I have yet to meet someone who genuinely speaks for the gods in every situation.

On the inverse, I'm sure some who use these titles mean it in a harmless and genuine way (I've met one before), and that's fine, but if you are one of such people, realize that these words seriously do carry immense implications along with them, and do not fall into the trap of moral superiority or dictating rules in a religion you do not own. The most genuine people I've met who identify with these titles are the ones who don't advertise them publicly. I'm not saying the use of these titles are wrong, but I am saying that people seem to be inclined to abuse them. Horrifically abuse them.

Instead, I suggest using a title such as "Cleric". I've seen another temple do this, and personally, I feel it is less intimidating and claims less power of authority. Or maybe not using a title at all. Why use one if you don't need it? Hell, you could call yourself literally anything else.

So, please, those who run digital Temples, I ask you to be aware of the power the words "priest" and "priestess" have before applying them to yourselves and ask yourselves why it is that you're choosing to identify with these titles in the first place.

Hermes is so sneaky with money, he sees when I’m struggling and he finds a way to send me exactly the amount I need. For example I needed to renew my car registration and get my car checked and I knew it was going to be a chunk of my paycheck but yesterday I was doing a favor for a family member that sells homemade creams and soap by going to two older ladies and dropping off the product and picking up the money (she lives out of town) and when I was ready to drop off the earning she told me I could keep all of it because she felt like I needed it more and I almost cried. And the HILARIOUS part is that today, when I went to check my car it was EXACTLY the amount that I had gotten from the creams

Ciao! I love your Vamp Rook au and I saw on your chart you had Vil and Kalim (I don’t think you’ve said anything about them pls correct me if I’m wrong) What’re their deals / Lore?

I did tell a bit about Kalim but not so much about Vil !

Vil lives a bit further down the "Seine" river that flows accross Fleur city. Snatching a few merchants or two that were about to enter the city by boat. A lil sing song and bon apétit. And he gets bonus free stuff given by simps, hey it's not stolen it was gifted to him, he can't help it you know. He's not your unrefined volatile, call him a harpy and you definitely will become his next meal.

Though he isn't foolish enough to kill a church member, he knows better. (Children are also spared)

Kalim is from a powerful family of vampires that made an agreement with the city+church. No harm is done to anyone and in exchange they organize Fleur city's nightly events and markets.

But Kalim wants to see the city by day he wants to feel the warmth of the sun, see how colorful everything is in bright light ! He's been told to not step out in the day, since well but he will probably do so anyway. Plus almost everyone sleeps at night (well except the other vamp weirdos and sometimes the hunters but he would still find a way to vibe with them)

Gave him hands in case someone needs to hold them (◡ ‿ ◡ .) and because he needs to preen and break his pin feathers too, with a humanoid anatomy and no hands it would be infuriating- (and still, reaching for the tail must be hard) + Beak-like mouth

Split sleeves like the Pomefiore uniform to fit the wings, not sure if I have him wear long skirt or something else. Would not be practical if he needs to unfold his train. Also want to make the hair longer but not like the first sketch I did (during uh road an driving theory practice) More like Ganyu from Genshin
