I have no problem believing in the possibility that Sonic and Tails will appear in Knuckles' miniseries, but can the same be said for Tom and Maddie? I sure hope so, especially since the series will be in live-action and apparently serve as a transition into the third movie.

Oh, well, first of all, Maddie is so angry she can't speak for a good five minutes when they return. Wade and Knux are both standing at the door, their heads hanging low, looking for all the world like dogs who had just peed on the antique, hand-woven rug that's been in her family for ten generations.

She opens the door, eyes going wide as she sees them. She opens her mouth, letting out a little squeak before closing it again. She tries again, and still just a squeak comes out. Then she slams the door in their faces. Opens it again. Another squeak. Another slam. Opens it again and hisses at them through gritted teeth "GET. IN. HERE."

They wisely obey.

They are both sat on the couch as she paces back and forth in front of them. Arms crossed, mouth pulled into a thin line. Every now and then she shoots them both a glare so hot they shrink under its weight.

Finally, she stops, bringing her clasped hands to her chin, and takes a long, deep breath. She lets it out slowly, before asking them just what in the ever-loving hell they thought they were doing.

They explain. They speak over each other, adding to the other's explanation, expanding on a point that hadn't been given very well. They laughed at some points, and quickly glossed over the bits they didn't think she'd take very well.

And as they talk, as they explain where they'd been for the past few days, Maddie notices something.

Knuckles, the most dangerous warrior in the galaxy, actually looked happy. His face was relaxed and he smiled more than she'd ever seen him since they'd taken him in. He and Wade seemed to have formed a bond on this trip, and even the deputy seemed more confident.

When they finish the tale of their adventure, Maddie feels her anger fade. She admits that she doesn't like how they simply disappeared--especially since Knuckles was supposed to be grounded--but it looks like their little road trip was good for them both. And she's so happy they're both okay.

But don't do it again.

After this, Knuckles has learned to have fun. He still trains, sure. He's gotten into the habit of jumping Sonic out of the blue under the guise of training--"Beware, surprise ambush!" he'll shout before pouncing on the hedgehog. Tails thinks it's hilarious, but Sonic's not too fond of it.

Wade and Knuckles have become best buds, and they go bowling at least once a week. Knuckles had a hard time in the early games, but Wade celebrated every pin the echidna knocked over without damaging anything as a glorious victory. Nachos are a favorite snack, followed closely by buffalo wings. Knuckles holds the record for the most wings eaten in 5 minutes.

When Wade goes back to visit his mother, he brings Knuckles with him--with Maddie's permission, of course. Wendy loves her little Knux, and they watch all sorts of movies together.

Tails had tried planting a tracker in Knux's shoe to keep tabs on him, because he didn't like carrying a phone. "It makes a strange humming sound, and makes my skin tingle," was his complaint, which no one really understood, but they didn't push it. The tracker didn't last more than two days, as it burnt out if Knux powered up and went sparky.

They came to an agreement that Knuckles would simply let someone know where he was when he was out. It took a few weeks to fully implant that into his head, but soon he got into the habit of either leaving a note or making sure he was seen around town.

And Wade always seemed to know where he was. "Bestie privileges," he'd said once when asked about it. "You know how it goes."

He's still a warrior . . . but he's thinking maybe he doesn't have to be right now. Maybe he doesn't have to train every day. Maybe it's okay to go fishing. Or bowling. Or watch movies. Or help people around town run errands or fix things or work in their gardens.

Maybe it's okay to just . . . be.

It's something he'd never done before. But he has to admit . . . he kinda likes it.

Really like these thoughts I put down so I thought I would put them in a separate post as well ^^

I think Maddie was the one to have the sole privilege of helping Tails with his fur for a while, mostly because a) the boys trust her the most with her gentle motherly hands, and b) because Sonic told Tails that Maddie was a vet who helps animals and that made it much easier for Tails to trust her.

But I also like to headcanon that Sonic would also brush his little bro's fur as a family bonding experience 😊 I have a personal headcanon that fur/scale/feather grooming amongst Mobians is an intimate bonding experience overall. Naturally, once Tails got used to Maddie doing it, then Sonic and Knuckles (and perhaps Tom) would offer to help with it as well; but let's focus on Sonic and Knuckles for now.

Naturally, Sonic and Knuckles would be able to help each other with their quills, especially the stubborn ones at the back. Over time Tails gets curious and wants to help too; but of course, since he doesn't have quills himself, he's scared of doing something wrong, but they don't miss when Tails glances at them when they were in the middle of their quill maintenance.

Knuckles lets Tails do his first. He claims that his quills are much stronger and durable than the hedgehogs, so if any mistake is made it's no big deal.

Sonic, I headcanon, can be fussy when his quills are being maintained. He's never usually fussed about doing them himself, only the occasional brush, but he has a tendency to get agitated from sitting still too long or if the brush happens to catch a particular knot.

But when Tails gets more comfortable with the de-quilling, and offers to do Sonic's, the hedgehog is as good as gold. Better than how Maddie, Tom, and Knuckles thought he would be. He stays still and lets the little fox find all the tangles, complimenting him every now and then that's he's doing a great job. Tails ends up having fun by the end 😊

So with that all done, the next step is for Tails to have his fur tended to by his brothers. As much as Tails trusts Knuckles, he has known Sonic personally a bit longer, so he's happy to let the hedgehog be the second person to brush his fur.

It's not easy at first. Any other hand that lays a hand on his back, or comes near his tails that's not Maddie sends Tails into a panic. But Sonic is patient. He goes slow, checking in on Tails and asking if everything is ok. He tries brushing the fur down his little bro's back, which Tails find he likes very much and even purrs at one point. Sonic lightly combs his tails, remarking on how floofy they are and making Tails laugh.

As time goes on, Tails allows Sonic to get more thorough with the brushing, even letting Sonic use his speed at some points. He trusts his hero. He knows there's no danger of him being hurt.

Knuckles of course is great at tending to the little fox too. I imagine that Knuckles is not so into all the grooming business as other Mobians, preferring to work on his muscles. So a lot of the assisted grooming Tails sometimes needs is either Maddie or Sonic.

Regardless, it's a precious bonding experience for all three of the brothers 💗

Because I'm laughing myself silly over my own writing tonight, have some out-of-context lines from later on in my Knuckles series fic 🤣🤣🤣

"Nothing!" Tom called. "Feel free to come in, we're just kissing again!"

"Who are we to question the ways of toasters?"

Really loudly. Like a freight train, carrying a bunch of trumpeting elephants, traveling through a forest filled with guys chainsawing trees.

Ah yes, quality father-son bonding time. Right up there with fighting a futuristic tank on the highway and crashing his sister-in-law's wedding.

"But Steve Irwin is the greatest wildlife rescuer ever!"

"Well I didn't quite kidnap him. I mean, yeah he did get kidnapped, but that wasn't--"

Oh, great thought, Sonic. Maddie told you not to watch creepy YouTube videos at one in the morning. Now you'll never sleep again.

"I mean, I guess it's not any worse than me being on the run for terrorism with Sonic."

I think the theme of "home", while not always in the forefront, is something that interests me about the Sonic Movie Universe (in a similar way it interested me during Prime)

For Movie!Sonic, home is where you make it first and where your family is second. After his guardian died, he presumably jumped from place to place, and it was a while before he had a stable home. He made himself a home on earth and fell in love with the land and the culture. But you get the sense that as long as he's in hiding and ostracized all the time, it never fully feels like home. So it's important that he got to really experience earth and living in Movie 1 with Tom. It's important that he made earth his home, and then made the Wachowski household his base. No matter where he goes on earth and beyond, he has a family he chose and who chose him he can come back to and be himself around. "Home" for Movie!Sonic began with necessity, progressed due to his growing attachment to earth and what it offers, and fully settled in with him having a more permanent place in this world and support.

For Movie Tails, I surmise that "home" to him is where Sonic is. He was ostracized (possibly even bullied/picked on) back home for his two tails. After listening to some of his lines in movie 2, Tails read to me like a character who'd been treated as weird or an outcast and ended up isolating himself as a result. I got the impression that when he wasn't indulging in his love of technology/mechanics (or perhaps even at the same time) he was holed up in his base, watching a live stream of Sonic and his adventures, even after the conclusion of the first movie's events. He knows everything about Sonic, down to knowing that he doesn’t take showers, before even meeting him properly. Tails is not at home on earth nor particularly entranced by earth itself (in opposition to Sonic, who became entranced with it). He only even goes there to warn Sonic and to help him out. But Sonic's place—Sonic's home—is on Earth, in Green Hills, with Tom and Maddie, and Tails has formed an actual bond of friendship with the hedgehog he formed a possibly parasocial relationship with used to watch on a screen. Before, I think Tails was just content with watching or being helpful. But now? Now that he's spent time with Sonic, Sonic makes him feel normal. Sonic makes him feel like even "weirdos" can do great things. Sonic makes him feel valued. He's no longer content just watching because Sonic is more his home than the place he grew up in ever was. Home to him is with the people you choose, the people who make you feel at home, the people you want to be around. The Wachowski household is Sonic's home because he loves earth, green hills, and because he has mutually taken Tom and Maddie as his parents. Earth and the Wachowski household are only Tails' home as long as Sonic is there.

And for Knuckles... He has the set up to fall in love with earth in a similar way Sonic did. He grew up/was born in a similar place to him. And yet, all of the beautiful nature on earth doesn't matter to him. Knuckles, as of the beginning of the Knuckles series, had adopted a different approach to Sonic. Sonic tried to make home for himself wherever he could, no matter how many worlds he'd jumped to. In contrast, Knuckles never bothered to do this. He only pursued the mission, never bothering to make a home when he'd be off to the next world soon enough (especially if it seemed trivial in the face of his life's mission). And it's pointed that although he's able to participate in what earth offers the same way Sonic is in movie 1 (Knuckles learning how to bowl or Sonic going to a bar), he is not at home because of those things. He's able to slow down and appreciate what earth offers, the same things he couldn't bring himself to acknowledge before, and yet he's not at home on earth because it's beautiful or because it has food he likes or whatever. He very pointedly makes a connection with Wade and his family. The Whipple family is home. Not the earth, not even the house itself. He feels comfortable when with them, he enjoys the time on earth he spends with them, and he is able to appreciate Earth better when he experiences it with them (in contrast to Tails, who never had any sort of arc of appreciating what one can experience on earth to me). Home to Knuckles isn't easily quantifiable (more of a feeling really), but it’s about the people who make you feel at home. It's about the people who helped him relax and feel more comfortable not always putting his focus into the mission.

Sonic, who can make home anywhere, who always appreciated what was great about living on earth, and whose "home" was finally made permanent when he spent time with Tom and Maddie.

Tails, who never truly felt home until he spent time with Sonic, who doesn't particularly care for what earth has to offer, whose home is wherever Sonic is.

Knuckles, who never allowed himself to feel at home or tried to make a home until he began to travel with Wade and open up to new experiences, who began to enjoy earth and yet considers his home with the Whipple family specifically.

Sonic would protect the earth he lives on even if everyone he cared about was gone. Tails would protect the earth he lives on so long as it's Sonic's home. Knuckles would protect the world he lives on not just to keep the master emerald secured, but so long as this place is home to the Whipple family, with whom he enjoys experiencing Earth with.

Dreamwalker AU

This AU was inspired by a weird dream/nightmare I had a while ago and something intriguing I found in the Sonic X series. Apparently, in one of the subs or dub of Sonic X, it was mentioned that Amy and Sonic have a psychic link with each other that lets them sense when one of them is in danger (I'm not making this up a swear, I can't find the clip/episode for the life of me!)

Context:

Sonic never usually had dreams or nightmares, when he did he dreamed he was alone in a white void until he woke up. Sonic never gave these dreams, much thought until the night he arrived on earth alone, he dreamt of a girl. On the night he arrived on earth the white void he often dreamed of felt extra unwelcoming. The loneliness even in his dreams was too much for the little hedgehog so he wept and called out for anyone to stop this feeling.

His cries were answered by another lonely hedgehog appearing to console him. Since then they would meet in their dreams every so often to comfort each other or to simply talk. They eventually start to have a bit of fun when they discover they can materialize objects or landmarks into their dreamscape.

For a while, Sonic was satisfied with recreating environments and exploring them with Amy, but as time went by, it became harder to shove away that one thought that was bothering him, was Amy even real? As a kid, he thought it didn't bother him too much whether she was real or not, who wouldn’t want a cool imaginary friend? Now that he was older, the thought that she was possibly made up to keep himself sane bothered him more and more each time they met. Ultimately his frustration leads to him lashing out at Amy when she tells him she couldn’t come to earth to meet him in person. Sonic desperately wanted some semblance of proof that she was real but she couldn’t give him any reinsurance that mattered at the time. Unfortunately, for both of them, the discord temporarily severed their bond, preventing them from meeting in future dreams.

He mourns the loss of his friend whether she was real or not deeply hurt him and made him regret ever arguing with her. With each dream, he tried calling out to her, summoning her favorite places, and even recreating her but nothing seemed to work. Eventually, the hurt became too much for him so he forces himself to forget his possibly imaginary friend returning to his lonely life in Greenhills. That is until the events of the first movie.

Two years later(after the events of the first, second movie, and possibly the third movie) sonic is now living with Tom and Maddie, his parents alongside his two new brothers Tails and Knuckles. Although Sonic now had everything he ever wanted, his mind couldn't help but wander back to the mysterious pink hedgehog of his dreams from time to time. Whenever that happened, he would push those thoughts aside to focus on more important things like his family or the next big adventure. This seems to put those unresolved feelings at bay until he receives a chilling dream/vision of Amy. She didn’t feel right, she didn’t look right, she didn’t even greet him the way he always knew her for. She only looked through him with eyes that weren’t her own, whispering a mixture of a plea for help and a warning.

So, the Knuckles Show...

It was a hassle to attempt and find the show somewhere else (pirate if you wanna watch), and also I had a lot going on that day, BUT!

I have finally finished all six episodes of Knuckles, and my final thoughts...!

...It was pretty good.

Honestly, nothing to ground-breaking and outstanding but it was fantastic and such a lovely treat to hardcore Knuckles fans. Like me lol. (It may not look like it, but TRUST ME THIS SHOW TURNED ME INTO A HARDCORE KNUCKLES FAN.)

All of my thoughts are under the cut, but to make a long story short, I really enjoyed it! (Forgive this post and me I'm not the best at sharing reviews DX)

Now, some things I wanna point out... (MASSIVE SPOILERS AND PERSONAL HEADCANONS AHEAD)

THOUGHTS ON CHARACTERS

I really liked Wade Whipple. He's goofy, and dorky, and he was fantastic for saving his family and Knuckles. His character arc was really interesting to watch, and he's got a lot of funny moments. Him and Knuckles also make a great team. I believe he would make a great Uncle for Knuckles. XD

Knuckles' arc was fantastic too. I was hoping that he realizes that Earth is his home, and he did. The Movie Series version of Knuckles is definitely my favorite version of Knuckles. EVER. Love this character to death. Number one favorite character right now.

The story was pretty good, too. Interesting that Knuckles isn't the only main focus, but I was onboard with the idea that Wade is also in the spotlight. I liked Wade but I love him A LOT.

The whole drama with Wade's family was something that honestly caught me off guard, but in a good way. It's just great to see more of his extended family. (And Wade's mother and is just so sweet and cool.)

Mason and Willoughby were fun to watch. Almost better than Orbot and Cubot, honestly. XD

The Buyer... I kind of forgot about him until the last few episodes. XD Cool villain, though!

Pachacamac... Never thought I would actually enjoy this character. Really wish he got enough screen time, dude is so hilarious. So much better than the Pachacamac we all knew from Adventure 1 pffffft. And hearing Doc Brown's voice coming out of Mac's mouth was the best part. He fits the role perfectly.

WACHOWSKI FAMILY CRUMBS! WE GOT TO SEE MORE OF THE WACHOWSKIS! It was only for one episode, but it's just so refreshing to see Knuckles with his newfound family, especially Tails. (Even though he didn't get enough screentime.)

MY HEADCANONS OF THE EVENTS DURING THE SHOW (and afterwards)

The house is still in construction after the second film. I have a feeling that the Knuckles show took place probably a month or two after the second film. (Or at least after the baseball field scene from the movie.)

And if that's the case, then it's probably why Sonic and Tails haven't called Maddie "mom" yet. Sonic JUST made Donut Dad official, but not hearing Sonic calling Maddie "mom" didn't surprise me, actually. Since he had a mother figure once before, and now she's gone. Sonic is probably still struggling to make Mama Maddie official after that whole mess. 🥺

And also I think Tails does look at Tom and Maddie as his parents, but calls them by their first names because that's what he's most comfortable with for now.

Sonic mentions that Tails and Knuckles are his roommates. ...Something tells me that he hasn't realized the bigger picture yet. 😈 Once the realization hits, it's over for the middle child.

I seriously don't believe Knuckles is sticking with the Whipples. He's got a bed at home, and "pretzel woman" is a motherly title of sorts for Maddie. I just think Knuckles and Wade have formed a really strong bond. Wade is more of a uncle figure for him, but the Whipples are part of the Wachowskis regardless. 💕

I bet Knuckles' grape stash that the moment Knuckles walks back home with Wade, Sonic, Tails and Maddie (and Tom if he came home) freaks the hell out because he just straight up left home without an explanation. Especially since he's grounded and shouldn't have step foot out of the house. But all that matters is that Knuckles is at home with his family. Did this calm everybody down? No, and yes. It's hard to explain. (At least Sonic knows now that Knuckles can finally relax.)

Ever since the events of the Knuckles Show, seeing visions of Pachacamac is pretty normal for Knuckles, whether he needs to be guided for something even if it's small, or he just casually shows up in his dreams just to say "hi." I feel like since he visited Wade while he was unconscious, I think Pachacamac would also visit other people's dreams or visions. It be so goddamn funny if this dude just randomly show up in Sonic's dream, scaring the living daylights out of him, and when he explains it to Knuckles, he's like: "Oh, that's just Mac, he's cool." and Sonic is like: "???????"

THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODES - Fair warning, I've only seen these episodes ONCE (Including some clips I rewatched on Tumblr.) so some things here might be fuzzy or wrong, so bare with me here...

Episode 1 was a great start. I love the dynamic Sonic and Knuckles has. Bummer that we didn't get to see more of them together, but with the power of writing, that problem can be solved! (HUZZAH!) I love the small bit with Knuckles and his mother Maddie after he got grounded and how he just, took it okay with the fact that he's grounded. And I love Sonic trying to help his new buddy out, he's an absolute sweetheart for that. Pachacamac's appearance in the episode took me by surprise and he was such a joy to watch. Love the elderly goofball. Seeing Knuckles and Wade interact was nice, too, even when he gets to talk about his dad. It was a nice moment. And Knuckolas Cage. Best nickname ever, how dare Knuckles decline such a title for a perfect warrior XD

Episode 2 was great. Absolutely love the daydream scene with Wade's plan on saving Knuckles from the G.U.N. agents, and Holding Out For a Hero playing in the background. GOLDEN. Don't remember much else other than that and Knuckles and Wade rocking out to so music. (And Knuckles breaking the radio again.)

Episode 3 is when we get to see Wade's family members, and it was nice. Wanda is one of those siblings that we had and Wendy (is that her name?) is just so lovely. We got to know more of Knuckles' dad, and once more, it was a tender moment between an Echidna and a dork-ass Uncle. 😊 And we got a EPIC fight scene with Knuckles, Wendy and the goons. It was AWESOME. Also, love Wade's room. He's got good taste.

Episode 4... Oh, my God. It was a fever dream. Literally. It was so RIDICULOUS but it was the greatest thing I've ever seen in a long time. XD I love musical numbers that just come out of NOWHERE, and this was one of them! Adam Pally (Wade) in a Knuckles costume is just the most elegant thing. AND ECHIDNA MUPPETS ARE REAL! I WAS HOPING THAT THEY WOULD ACTUALLY BRING IN THE ECHIDNA MUPPET!! Jokes aside, it was a strangely epic episode of Wade going through Knuckles' past in a unique way. And the songs were pretty great. ...You think that's where all the budgeting went? On this gorgeous musical number? /j Also we got more of my boy Pachacamac, being one of my favorite characters besides Knuckles lmao GOD I wish we got more of Pachacamac. I love him so much XD

Episode 5 Is when they arrive at Reno. It was alright. We got to see Wade meeting his dad finally (also Knuckles is using a phone no problem I guess??) I think that's all I remember. WE GOT KNUCKLES WITH THE HAT THOUGH SO YEAH!

Episode 6 is the last one of the mini series and it was pretty kick-ass. More cool fight scenes, with Knuckles and the Agents, him against the Buyer, which was short and sweet, but still pretty intense. Wade and Pete was competing in bowling. Kept forgetting about that, but it was cool regardless. And Wade being the best uncle ever and protecting Knuckles while he was out. Also kind of forgot a lot from this episode, but nonetheless, badass way to end the mini series. Complete with the classic freeze frame of Knuckles and Wade getting a high five! Knuckles realizing that his home is on Earth was such a powerful scene. It was the first Sonic movie all over again.

And yes, there was a pretty quick post credits scene where Knuckles found a song and claimed it was his jam. It was really cute. XD

Really wish there was a scene where Knuckles came back home to the Wachowskis with the family flipping the lid over the fact that he left the house, but in my heart I know damn well it happened. I know this series too well lmao

That's pretty much all I wanna say about how this show made me feel. It was a fun time. Not was insane as Movie 1 and 2, but still as enjoyable.

Honestly, after watching this, I hope we get a Wachowski family TV show, where it's just the family on misadventures, and moments together that are comedic, fluffy, angst, any emotion you wanna feel watching it, and it's just a good time. I just wanna see more of this goofy little growing family. (Also it'd be cool if season 1 was after the first movie because I wanna see Sonic adjusting to his new life with Tom and Maddie and spending traditions and holidays with them before the sequel.) I love this series too much. 😅

This show got me really ambitious to work on my stories and I really wanna show the community how amazing these characters are. (I just need to get an AO3 in the future...)

It feels good to be back on the Wachowski bandwagon.

The Knuckles Show is flawed, but it was a fun time. I love the characters, I love the story, I love the choice of songs they used, and of course, I love Knuckles. This is the best we've ever seen of Knuckles, and I'm proud of how far this little, tough guy has came.

The Echidna Warrior made his debut 30 years ago, and he's never been stronger. Keep on punching, Knuckles! 😎💕

Knuckle series is out!! Any thoughts? Does it affect your Jojo and Gang au?

Spoilers for the Knuckles series people! Avert your eyes children!

First, let's talk about the things I liked:

- Sonic and Tails were great for as little screen time as they had. And Maddie trying to be patient with Knuckles while also not strangling him was great, haha. As someone who worked at a Daycare, I related to her dealing with kids like Knuckles and Maddie's facial expressions when she was grounding Knuckles were on point. Also THEY HAVE A PLAIN BED FOR TAILS AND A TRUCK BED FOR KNUCKLES AHHHHH!!!!!

-Pachacamac is a Jedi Force ghost? Alright then. I don't know much about this character outside of Sonic X but I thought that he was fine. And Christopher Lloyd does a great job as usual.

-Wade was not terrible. I like how he has some character growth through the series and at the end he isn't a master warrior/fighter. He's still a goofball but now he's thinking things through and using what he has and his current surroundings to his advantage in a fight, and isn't just hiding and waiting for Knuckles to save him. But him breaking out of the cage in episode 4 was a bit ridiculous. What was that cage made of, cardboard? He really should have broken his hand or something.

-I liked the villains but I wish that we got to see them more involved in the story, especially the buyer. Who was menacing for about five minutes and then was crushed to death like, dang 0-0

-NANA WHIPPLE AND KNUCKLES SPINOFF SHOW PLEASE!!

-Knuckles was the best part of the show. He's the strong tough warrior but with a big heart and good intentions, though a bit misguided at times. Idris did a great job, nothing new there.

And now let's get into the things I didn't like:

-The show is %70 Wade bowling story and %30 Knuckles adjusting to earth and his backstory with Pachacamac and his tribe and his connection to the master emerald and everything else that the show should have been about. The Wade sub plot takes up so much time that we don't get to explore Knuckles. I wished that we had gotten to see him learn to appreciate and call Earth his new home instead of him just accepting it at the end. It just felt so rushed.

-Episode four wasn't awful but I didn't care for it. Also you can NOT show us the Flames of Disaster from '06 and not have Silver or Blaze show up. You can't do that >:(

-Knuckles and Maddie didn't get to have a heart to heart conversation which is what I and many others thought that was what the show was building up to. Also he never gets in trouble for running way and we never cut back to seeing Maddie or Sonic and Tails realizing Knuckles is gone, or even Sonic and Tails trying to cover for Knuckles. I get that the CGI was expensive and voice actor and actor schedules might not have worked out for it to happen, but my point still stands.

-Wanda was useless and you could have cut her out and lost nothing. Don't get me wrong, the actress is good but she feels wasted here. Her character is so annoying and serves no purpose other than to be mean to Wade. And why do we have to have the "siblings who hate each other but make up at the end" cliche? I would have liked Wanda more if she was nicer to Wade from the start and if they had a fun sibling bond with each other. Also if she was able to actually use her skills as an FBI agent to at least hold her own against the gang when they attack Nanna Whipple's house. Also the dad needed to be more comedically villainous, he was too generic.

-Like I said the villains here are fine but the Buyer's whole character is to just show up, have a cool robot fight, and die. We don't get to see him be a threat to Knuckles at all, he just appears for the climax and then is offed in a snap. And the two agents were fun but a lot of their dialogue was graining.

-And that leads me to the main problem with the series. The writing. I'm aware that the writers for the main movies didn't work much on this series, except Jeff did do the first episode. Which is why it's the best one. There is no balance between the jokes and the emotional moments. The show is so focused on trying to make you laugh every five minutes that it sacrifices genuine emotional growth for the characters especially for Knuckles. You know, the whole reason for the show existing in the first place. It suffers the same problems that the live action Ton and Jerry movie had, where the main stars weren't allowed to be the main stars of their film. All of the screen time there went to the human characters who weren't interesting or just plain annoying and mean.

And the dialogue for the show teeters back and forth between actually funny/well written and being dangerously close to obnoxious. And kids shows having jokes all the time isn't a problem. Rottmnt and the Lego Movies are both kid properties that fire off a joke every minute but they knew when to cut back and let the emotional moments shine. The jokes in the Knuckles show felt more like they were pandering to four year old's then actually trying to be funny and the emotional moments felt kind of forced.

I don't want to give any of the writers or anyone who worked on this show a hard time. I can see that everyone worked hard and had fun with this. And I had fun too. There were some good moments between Knuckles and Wade and even a few jokes that got me. But the problems I listed above are just to hard for me to ignore. If you liked the Knuckles series then great for you! I'm happy you were able to have a great time! But for me it was just ok.

Not great. But not bad either. 5/10.

Now, about this affecting Jojo and Gang. I think what I'll do is have comic take place a month after the Knuckles series. And use my AU to focus on Knuckles getting accustomed to Earth and learning to call it home. Basically my AU will do what the Knuckles series didn't.

Summary: It’s been a couple months since the epic battle between Sonic and Eggman. The electric blue hedgehog could finally relax…right? Well…yes and no. Sonic has been living with the Wachowski’s for those couple months and it’s been great! But…he keeps feeling weird. His stomach gets fluttery and he can’t stop laughing for hours at a time…it's…really weird. Maybe he should talk to someone about this…

(A/N: Parent and child relationship. Nothing more. Nothing less. It sickens me that I have to put that in there (bc it should be obvious) but you can never be too sure…I just needed to make it clear that they love each other as family.)

Sonic was sitting up on his beanbag and playing with the rubix cube Maddie gave him about a week ago. He was dressed in a sweatshirt, a gift from Tom that was like 3 times his own size, going almost to his knees and blue fuzzy socks. He groaned as he finished solving the cube again for probably the 12th time now. Speaking of which, you’re probably wondering where he got the rubix cube from…and before you ask, no he did not steal it. It was quite the opposite actually.

Maddie noticed that Sonic was very fidgety at times and often pulled at his quills when he was nervous about something, or completely bored. So she decided to go shopping and buy the blue hedgehog some fidget toys. And by “some”, Sonic means like about 60-70 at least…he hasn’t counted but by the looks on how freaking heavy the box was when she gifted it to him, his estimation probably wasn’t that far off. 

Sonic groaned again, dropping the rubix cube he had in his hands and placed it on his desk, making sure to put it down delicately so he didn’t accidentally dent it; out of all of the fidget toys this one was Sonic’s favorite and he didn’t want it getting ruined under any circumstances. The hedgehog flopped on his beanbag, looking up at the ceiling and putting his pillow to his face before abruptly groaning loudly for like the 100th time, but at least now it was muffled by the pillow. 

Sonic wanted something but he didn’t know what…and this feeling was starting to get on his nerves.

Well- no- scratch that. He did- he did know what he wanted. But there’s no way in all of Green Hills he was gonna tell anyone about it.

There- there was this feeling in his stomach, but he didn’t know what the literal hell it was, and it’s been eating him from the inside since he’s come to Green Hills. His stomach felt fluttery, almost as if there were butterflies instead of intestines- but not in a bad way! In a very weird, confusing, nice way? If that makes sense? And another thing, he can't seem to stop giggling to himself. Which is odd. Because he didn’t even hear a joke or anything! He was just…giggling. Like what? But most importantly, he was craving physical affection apparently??? Ugh. See why he wasn’t gonna tell anyone about this feeling? Or…whatever this was?

Sonic looked at his phone- not far from where he was lying down on his beanbag. He remembers Maddie saying every time she left before work in the morning that if he needed anything, to text or call her…

This is probably what she meant. 

But he didn’t want to bother her. Sonic knew how important Maddie’s job was and he didn’t want to make it more stressful. Besides, what was she supposed to say to her coe-working people if Sonic called or texted? Oh! Sorry! The over-sized hedgehog I have living in my house wants to talk about this weird feeling he’s feeling! Hm? Oh, what feeling you ask? He doesn’t quite know exactly! 

Yeah. Thanks but no thanks. Sonic could handle this weird feeling on his own. Yep. He could totally handle this weird new feeling by himself. Uh-huh. He’s got this.

Sonic turned his phone off and put it next to him and after a couple seconds of waiting the blue hedgehog immediately regretted sending those three texts to Maddie. She’s probably busy anyway. Sonic could figure out this feeling by himself-

Sonic almost jumped out of his seat at the sudden loud sound coming from his phone. He really needs to figure out how to turn that sound down…he can feel it still ringing in his ears. He turned on his phone to see a text notification- 3 actually- from the one and only Maddie Wachowski…

Sonic exhaled the breath he didn’t even notice he was holding in, unlocking his phone and going into messages to properly text her.

Sonic got up from his beanbag chair, put his phone inside of the desk and opened the hatch downstairs. Sonic quietly tiptoed down the stairs, making sure to dodge the places in the steps that he knew squeaked if he stepped too hard, peeking over the stairway to see Tom watching TV- and from the looks of it it looked like some sheriff documentary- he’s been watching those a lot lately…but Sonic doesn’t understand the hype. The sheriff’s on the TV could be talking about some random paint splatter on the ground and Tom would be hooked. 

“I can hear you trying to be quiet up there, Sonic.” Tom chuckled, still facing the TV as he went to grab the remote on the armrest and pause the TV. The brunette turned to Sonic with a “hah! Caught ya” grin, a grin Sonic knew all too well in his last months of living with him.

 The hedgehog sighed in defeat of being caught, walking down the stairs and going next to the couch Tom was sitting at. The brunette had a grey/gray shirt on with a light plaid print jacket, matching with some black pants and white socks. 

“Uh…’sup, Tom.” Sonic said as casually as he could before leaning on the couches’ arm rest. The brunette eyed Sonic suspiciously, raising one eyebrow as he crossed his arms. Sonic started to sweat under the older man’s glare, whistling and looking anywhere but Tom’s direction. 

“What did you do, Sonic?” Tom sighed, taking the blue hedgehogs’ sudden nervousness as a sign of him doing something he wasn’t supposed to. “I didn't do anything!” Sonic said, mimicking Tom’s expression and pose. The two looked at each other in the pose for a solid minute or two before laughing at their silliness.

“So what do you need, little man?” Tom asked. Sonic cleared his throat, fiddling with his hands and began looking at his feet because honestly? Staring at the ground was much much more easier than looking at Tom at the moment. “I just…I figured we could- y’know- hang out I guess?” The blue hedgehog started, “Some uhm…y’know some father-son bonding activities…?” Sonic said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck, still looking down on the ground. 

There was an uncomfortable silence between the two and Sonic didn't like it. He didn't like it one bit. And the more the silence dragged on the more the blue hedgehog started to second guess himself about coming down to the living room. 

Pfft, “Father-son bonding?” He really has reached a whole new level of patheticness, huh? Why would Tom want to spend time with him? He’s just keeping him around because he pity’s him. He doesn’t actually enjoy his company. Just wait until Tom gets tired of him, then he’ll be all alone again-

Oh this was a mistake.

This was such SUCH a mistake. 

***Harmful stimming starts***

The hedgehog started lightly pulling on his quills out of nervousness with one hand while his other hand started tapping the side of his leg, “O-Or whatever. If- If you want to of course. I don’t want it to seem like you're being forced, hah!” Sonic said, letting out the best fake laugh he could muster before speaking again. “I-If you’re busy- y’know….with, uhh, you’re sheriff stuff…that’s fine as well. I don’t- I don’t care.” Sonic started slowly backing away from Tom, still pulling on his quills- but a tad bit harder this time as his hand tapping on his leg started increasing faster. 

Sonic could hear faint talking in front of him but he couldn’t focus on it. The only thing he needed to focus on was leaving before he embarrassed himself more. “Y’know what? I-I should go, you’re probably doing something busy anyway, uh…lemme get out of your hair, man.” Sonic grimaced, turning away and going to the steps, but before he could walk any farther Tom grabbed both his hands gently. 

***Harmful stimming stops***

“Hey…let’s not do that, okay? You’re hurting yourself….” Tom said softly, holding Sonic’s hands in his own as he kneeled down to try and match Sonic’s height. “Where are your fidget toys?” Tom gently asked, trying his best to keep the questions short and sweet to not overwhelm the younger. These types of moments have happened before in the Wachowski’s house; when Sonic started to panic, asking him too many questions would get him even more upset, so when this happened they kept the questions to a minimum and straight to the point. “I…I left them upstairs…” Sonic mumbled. 

“Oh. That’s okay…uh…here. Sit down on the couch for a sec.” The brunette said as he picked up Sonic and sat him on the couch. Rubbing his head affectionately before walking away to the kitchen rummaging through the kitchen shelves before coming out with a blue squishy ball. He came back to Sonic who gratefully accepted the ball. Tom sat next to Sonic as the younger leaned onto his shoulder, taking another deep breath and exhaling, muscles once tense now relaxed. 

“Sorry about that…” Sonic said, squeezing the stress ball harder and glaring at it as if it stole his last chili dogs. Well this wasn’t how he was planning this conversation with Tom to go. The older looked at Sonic sadly before sighing and turning his gaze looking straight ahead to the paused TV. “You don’t have anything to apologize for, kid. It’s alright.” Tom said. The blue hedgehog hummed at the comic, taking a couple more deep breathers.

There was that uncomfortable silence again, the one that Sonic despised. “I just…I dunno. I feel weird…?” Sonic said, squeezing his squishy fidget ball at a faster pace this time. The older didn't say anything but completely turned to Sonic, letting him know he was listening. The younger somewhat shrunk under the older mans’ look, feeling a tad bit pressure to go on but decided to ignore it. He wanted- no. He needed to get this off of his chest. 

“Ever since I’ve come to stay with you and Maddie after the defeat of Dr. Robotnik, I’ve felt…odd. I feel tingly, and fluttery and it’s just…weird, because I’ve never felt like this before, ever. I talked to Maddie about it in text and she said to talk to you about it…so uh…here I am!” Sonic sheepishly said.

Tom chuckled, “Is that why you said you wanted some Father-son bonding?” The blue hedgehog blushes at the mention, nodding his head. The older one chuckled once again, rubbing Sonic’s head affectionately, “I’d be happy to help you with this fluttery-feeling, buddy!” The blue hedgehog quickly looked at Tom as his ears went up in surprise.  

“Wait. Really?” Sonic asked. “Of course! But before I do, I gotta ask you a question…” Tom said waiting a dramatically long time before continuing his sentence. “Are you ticklish?” The older asked, smirking and raising an eyebrow up. There was a silence between the two, but only this time this one was in complete and utter confusion. The younger ones' eyebrows creased together trying to put together what he was just asked, “Um…gesundheit?” 

“What? No, kid.Tickling. Y'know, being ticklish?” Tom said as he wiggled his fingers near Sonic’s face only to be met by a confused look. “I dunno what you are talking about, man…” Sonic chuckled, now relaxing in the hug as he chuckled at the older mans’ surprised face.

Tom’s dumbfounded expression slowly turned to a soft, genuine smile, then it slowly turned into an evil grin. This kid had no idea what tickling is!

Oh Tom is gonna change that very quickly.

“Uh…Tom? You okay over there? Your face kinda looks like that green person we watched on Christmas…” Sonic said, wincing at the memory of the man’s genuine expression slowly slowly turning into an evil one. Tom stopped with his evil grin (for now at least), and raised his left eyebrow in amusement. “You mean The Grinch?” He asked, laughing when the blue hedgehog nodded happily at the familiar name. “Yeah, yeah! That dude!” Sonic smiled.  

“I need you to stay perfectly still for this to work though, okay?” Tom said in the best serious voice he could muster, but probably not as serious as he thought since right after he stopped talking Sonic started laughing a bit. “Pfft, whatever you say, Donut Lord.” Sonic snickered, hopping into Tom’s lap facing sideways.

Tom then began to lightly scratch along Sonic’s sides, the reaction was almost immediate as the blue hedgehog began to squirm lightly and grab at the brunette’s wrists; but not pushing them away. Sonic held his breath; trying not to laugh but that plan started to crumble as Tom began to poke at the youngers’ sides; more quickly than he was before. Sonic let out a tiny shriek before descending into little giggles, kicking his legs and shaking his head. Tom smiled at the adorable sight.

“Whahat? Hehey-! Hehey wahahait! Whahat ahahare yohou dohoing?” Sonic asked while becoming a giggly squirmy mess. Tom chuckled at the youngers’ question, making sure to go easy on him since this was his first time being tickled, so he’d start off with light tickles…for now at least. 

“I’m tickling you, silly! Since it does seem to me that you happen to be a bit ticklish~!” Tom cooed, now using two hands to tase around Sonic’s sides. Sonic threw his head back, suddenly lost in a puddle of giggles and fell on the couch, but still in Tom’s grasp as the brunette tickled up and down his sides. “Whahat ahare you tahahalking about?” Sonic giggly asked, his legs lightly stomped on the couch as some pillows fell in the process. 

“Hmm, hold on…” Tom said as he grabbed his phone from his jacket pocket, typing up something but making sure to keep the blue hedgehog in a giggly squirmy mess. “Ah, okay. Goggle states this: Tickling is the act of touching a part of a body in a way that causes involuntary-“ “Ihihi dohohon’t knohow whahat thahat meeheeans!” Sonic whined interrupting Tom, shaking his head back and forth giggling up a storm in the older mans’ lap. “You didnt even let me finish!” Tom laughed, moving one hand to tickle Sonic’s neck while the other still tickled his side. 

“PFFT- nAhAHAH! GeHEt ohOUT ohohOHOF theHEhehere!” Sonic giggly demanded, still holding Tom’s wrist as he scrunched up his shoulders. The older man chuckled before digging both of his hands in both sides of the blue hedgehog’s neck, fingers fluttering up, down, left, and right. Sonic’s feet drummed on the couch, trying to make a daring escape but anytime he was even a bit close to leaving, Tom would poke Sonic’s sides, leaving the blue hedgehog to be an adorable giggly mess. “Stahay still!” Tom playfully scolded. 

“THIhihIHIs ihihis soHO weeheeird!” The hedgehog giggled, his face beginning to turn a light red. And honestly, if Tom could start crying, he would- out of happiness of course. This was to fucking darn cute. 

“How many ribs do you think you have, Sonic?” Tom asked as he held both of Sonic’s arms up against the couch, trying his best to compose himself from not crying from the younger ones’ adorable reactions to the pokes. “Mahaddie sahahaid weehee hahave twehenty-fohour; twehehelve ohon eeheeach sihihide!” Sonic giggly answered, as he remembered Maddie did a walk-through on the human body and how many bones it has. 

“Hm…you sure? Maybe I should count them for you…” Tom didn’t even spare the giggly blue hedgehog a second to protest as he pressed his thumb into the lowest rib on the right side of Sonic’s ribcage, kneading and circling at a very very slow pace against the artificial bone. Sonic screeched at the sudden sensation against his ribs, kicking his legs a bit faster as Tom slowly slowly slowly began to “count his ribs”.

“One…two…three…” Tom counted aloud, remaining on a rib for about 5 seconds before moving up to a different one. Sonic lurched in Tom’s lap, attempting to pry himself out by pushing at Tom’s wrists but only caused the older to pin up his arms and continue kneading at his ribs. “NahAHA! WahahHAHAIT, plehHEHEase!” Sonic whined throughout his frantic cries of laughter. “Ihi sahAHAId iHi hahaHAVE tweHEHEnty foHOUR!” 

“I'm just double checking!” Tom innocently said as if he wasn’t completely wrecking the boy in his lap at the moment. The blue hedgehog squirmed and squealed at the tickly feeling at his ribs, being unable to do anything but just take it. This went on for a couple more numbers but then Tom suddenly stopped “counting” Sonic’s ribs, giving the kid another breather before hatching another evil plan. “Wait, what number was I on, Sonic?” 

“Tohohom! Yohou lihihiterally ohonly counted toohoo sihihix-!” 

“Oh, well. I lost count! Guess I have to start all over again~! 

Sonic froze in place, laughter now raising an octave as he helplessly squirmed in Tom’s grasp. “WahAHaH- waHahaHAIT *snort* nOHo dahHa- *snort* dohOHOHOn’t!” Sonic snorted, descending into a puddle of maddening cackles feeling the fluttery feeling again. So this was the feeling he was feeling…? He’d have to ask Tom later, when he’s not getting tickled to pieces. 

“Awh~! That’s so cute~! You snort when you laugh?” Tom cooed, wiggling his fingers near the blue hedgehog's ribs but very very close to touching him. Sonic’s laughter became more frantic and loud, squirming underneath Tom, and it's not like he could defend himself either! His arms were pinned up! This entire situation just screamed “unfair”. “NahaHAO! IHI *snort* doHOHon’t!” Sonic giggly said, knowing that- yes. Yes he did snort when he laughed, he did just a couple seconds ago…but no way in all of Green Hills he was gonna admit it, especially in this situation. 

“Oho really? What was that adorable noise you made just then, hmm?” Tom smugly asked. “YohOu’re heehEEARihing thihIHIngs…” Tom fondly rolled his eyes as he pinched and kneaded Sonic’s ribs, leaving absolutely no bone left out from his tickle torture. Sonic threw his head back and cackled like a madman, snorting every now and again as he squirmed like a worm, trying to stop the ticklish sensation at his ribs. 

“NAHAHAO! DAHAHAD *snort* PLEHEASE!” Sonic cried. Tom’s eyes widened at the name title the younger gave, not sure if the blue hedgehog meant to say it, but was very honored and happy at the mention. It made his heart melt. “Please what, Sonic? Pleaseeeeee keep tickling you?” Tom smugly teased, grin widening as he saw Sonic’s face heat up in embarrassment. Guess he’s weak to the T-word, huh? Oho I can and will use that to my advantage… 

“DAHAHA- *snort* OHOHO MY GOHOD! STAHAHAP SAHAHAYING THAHAT!” Sonic yelled as he shook his head back and forth. “Stop saying what, exactly? Tickle~? Ticklish~? Tickled~? Or do you want me to simply stop talking? Which one?” Tom laughed. “YEHEHES!” Sonic cried, not even completely knowing what he just said ‘yes’ to- he was too lost in his own laughter. Tom stopped tickling Sonic, letting him have one last breather before the final kill.   

“Ever heard of raspberries, Sonic?” Tom asked, knowing that he the blu hedgehog has, but probably not the ones he’s talking about. “Lihihike thehe fruhuhuit?” Sonic giggly asked. “Nope! Here, lemme show you…” Tom said as he blew a raspberry on the youngers’ tummy causing him to absolutely howl in laughter. 

“OHO MY *snort* GAAAHAHAD WAHAHAIT! WAHAHAIT!” Sonic screamed, completely not prepared for this new tickly feeling on his stomach…and why did it sound so freaking funny??? That was just gonna make him laugh more! “Wait for what Sonic~?” Tom teased as he blew more raspberries on his tummy, and with his free and scribbling up and down Sonic’s ribs. 

“WAHAHAIT- *snort* IHI *snort* DOHON’T DOOHOO THAHAHAT!” Sonic cried, blue sparks suddenly forming on the kids’ quills, sparkling here and there but some going off of his quills and onto the carpet floor, disappearing. Sonic cackled in the older Tom’s lap, the blue lightning on his quills adding a new ticklish sensation on him.

“Huh. Well they do say you learn new things everyday…” Tom mumbled, watching some of the lighting sparks fall off of the younger ones quills. “PLEHEHEASE! IHIT’S *snort* TIHIHICKLISH!” Sonic screamed, more tiny little blue sparks flying off of his quills and onto the floor. Tom chuckled at the little blue hedgehogs’ reactions, moving down to Sonic’s lower belly as he began to lightly flutter his fingers around it. 

“I think you mean ‘it tickles’, bud.” Tom said into Sonic’s tummy, chuckling. Tom was the sheriff of Green Hills- not the sheriff of grammar; at least last time Sonic checked. Tom began to blow more raspberries all over the little blue hedgehog’s stomach, making sure to add a few nibbles now and again to keep the younger in stitches- which worked out really well on Tom’s part. Sonic’s laughter became more high pitched and loud, snorting more frequently as the older started to raspberry and nibble his stomach.

“OHOHO MY GOHOD *snort* WHATEVER!” Sonic screamed as Tom began to switch between his lips and teeth nibbling mercilessly at Sonic’s tummy leaving the poor blue hedgehog in absolute hysterics. 

Tom dug his fingers in the blue hedgehogs underarms.And Sonic screamed. The hedgehog's feet were kicking probably about a million miles per hour, just looking like a complete and utter blur while the blue sparks on Sonic’s quills multiplied. 

“So~! I think I found your most ticklish spot, huh~?” Tom chuckled, lightly scratching his fingers in Sonic’s underarms, making sure to dodge the little sparks of blue lightning coming off of Sonic’s quills- which  he knew tickled the younger even more due to how much he was laughing. Sonic screamed underneath the brunette’s grasp, trying his best to not kick him in the face but the task being very very hard as his feet were kicking around a million miles per hour. 

“NOHOHO- *snort* DAHAHAH! DOHOHON’T!” Sonic howled, shaking his head back and forth while the heels of his feet dug into the couch. Tom, chuckled, now scribbling and scratching in Sonic’s underarms, “I’m barely even touching you!” Tom laughed, almost as hard as Sonic as he began to pick up the pace with his scribbling. 

“STAHAHA! *snort* NAHAHA- *snort* PLEHEHEA- *snort* DAHAHAHAD!” Sonic screamed, as happy tears started forming in his eyes which Tom took as a sign that Sonic has enough tickles for today. “Alright, alright! Just say Uncle.” Tom calmly said as if Sonic wasn’t screaming his head off. “WHAHA- *snort* WHAHAT?!

“Juhust say Uncle, kiddo-“ Tom said as he accidentally hit a very ticklish spot in Sonic’s underarm causing the younger to let out a girl-like squeal. 

“OKAHAHAY! OKAHAHAY! UHUHUNCLE!” 

Tom stopped tickling Sonic; letting the kid have a breather and putting him into a tight embrace. The blue hedgehog giggled softly in the hug as he melted into the touch. “You okay?” Tom chuckled, smirking at the younger who was still giggling from the tickles from before. Sonic nodded, wiping away his happy tears with his hand still giggling a bit. “So~, I’m Dad now, huh? What happened to being ‘too cool for your human parental names’?” Sonic blushed, pulling up his hoodie and sinking deeper into Tom’s chest. “Shuhut ihit….” 

“I really don’t mind you calling me Dad, bud.” Tom smiled. “Wahait whahat…? Reheally?” Sonic asked in genuine confusion looking up at the older with shiny eyes- Tom swore Sonic’s pupils had stars in them at that moment. “Yeah, I don’t mind.” Tom confirmed, patting Sonic’s back. Sonic’s eyes glistened a bit but the younger one soon wiped them. “Cool…” 

“So…that's called tickling?” The blue hedgehog asked. 

“Mhm.”

“So…you tickled me?”

“Yep.” 

“Huh.” Sonic said, not being able to say anything more than that. “How’s that fluttery feeling in your stomach doing?” Tom asked. “Fine, it's doing just fine.” Sonic smiled as Tom smiled back, rubbing his head affectionately and chuckling. 

“Let's go grab you some water, kiddo. And how about we make some cupcakes after that-“ Tom wasn’t even able to finish his sentence as the blue hedgehog excitedly ran to the kitchen chugging a glass of water and putting out ingredients to make the cupcakes. Tom chuckled, walking over to Sonic to join him. 

Tom definitely had to make a note to tell Maddie about his later, but as of right now he was going to bake some cupcakes with his son. And if they burn down the house in the process, oh well…they both can try coming up with a good excuse to tell Maddie as to why the house is in ashes.

KAY I'M A TRY AND KEEP THIS SHORT BUT NO PROMISES

(So many verses so little time, let's try and keep them in a semblance of a line. "Sonic verses" are varied in their definition. So I suppose we'll have to take some guesses in submission.)

(In other words, you weren't specific on what you meant by Sonic verses which means you have unleashed too many ideas at once).

RIGHT, LET'S START FROM THE BEGINNING:

Nine in Sonic SatAM would be absolutely terrifying because everyone would think he's some kind of time-traveled version of their Tails. Aka, they failed in the revolution and Tails turned into whoever this is. Nine would not care to correct them because why should he help some chipmunk princess and her entourage? He just wants to leave/get home, give him some power rings so he can get out of this universe that is much too similar to his with the whole Robotiziation thing going on. Nine is out of there and Tails is left praying he never turns into that weirdo.

Similar situation in Sonic Underground universe but since there is no Tails there, it's more like one of those random off-shoot episodes. They would meet Nine, fixing up his ship, at first fight him because they think he's an agent of Robotnik (the robot metal tails). Then Nine would most likely knock out the siblings, tie them up, and just let them sit there while he continued fixing his ship up. There would not be a lot of bonding it would be more of a, "Well, what are you up to?" "Fixing a ship." "Oh. We are trying to overthrow a tyrant." "Oh. Well, good luck with that." And then Nine lets them go and leaves or something, IDK

Archie Sonic Comics already have so many alternate zones that Nine showing up really wouldn't make anyone panic too much. HOWEVER--

Zonic would be trying to find where Nine is from and be very very confused when Nine is like, "Yeah, I'm from another another universe." Z: ???? *sends him to Sonic Prime because he has no idea what else to do and has a lot more issues to deal with (Scourge is one of them).*

So Sonic Prime and company (Nine: "You all exist here? Weird." *referring to SatAM*) help Nine with little trouble. Tails Prime tries to bond with his slightly older and less social self but it doesn't really go anywhere. Sonic Prime tries to figure out what happened to this version of Tails, but Nine is not really forthcoming so he gives up and they help him back into their ship.

Game Timeline (we'll say after Frontiers because why not?), Sonic is alone because all his friends went off to develop as characters (good for them!!!). So he's a bit concerned/terrified when Nine shows up because he hasn't seen or heard from his little brother in a few weeks.

Poor Sonic thinks Nine has amnesia or something and it takes multiple explanations to get it across that he is NOT Tails (also an actual phone call from Tails). Similar dynamic with Sonic Prime Sonic and this Sonic, only Nine knows that this Sonic is not even going to consider leaving with him because he has a Tails already. However, I do think Game Sonic would give Nine some kind of gift to remember him by (a screwdriver or wrench perhaps?) And Nine would be a little sad to leave but this place already has a him and he's seen enough worlds now to know that no world needs two of him.

Movie Sonic would be absolutely horrified by this duplicate little brother of his and drag the kid to Tom and Maddie and his Knuckles and his Tails in an absolute panic either claim the government is trying to clone them, shape-shifting aliens are invading, or evil versions of themselves are coming to kill them all.

Nine is not amused, yanks himself out of the Hedgehog's grip, climbs up the wall to the ceiling (Knuckles: AHHH! THE METAL TAILED DEMON CAN WALK ON WALLS!), and Nine just glares at them all while explaining he just needs to get to his ship, his name is Nine, not Evil Tails or Tails or Clone Tails, and he is from a different dimension and does not want to be here anymore than they want him here.

Yeah, Maddie and Tom adopt this child instantly as do Sonic and Tails (it takes Knuckles a bit to come around). They almost convince Nine to stay with them (Tails: We could be twins! It would be amazing!) But Nine is a stubborn boy and would sneak away in the night with only a note left behind.

Leaving that world is one of the only times Nine wishes he had his own family to go back to.

Sonic X (post Season 3) for fun let's say that Nine crashes outside of Eggman's base, is found by Shadow or Rouge, and is taken before the evil doctor. Nine is considerably annoyed at the turn of events and single-handedly hacks into Eggman's system, breaks out of his cell, makes the robots turn on Eggman so Shadow and Rouge are kept busy, activates the self-destruct sequence and then just nopes out of the dimension with a stolen power cell of some kind. (Sonic and Co in the distance: "Gee, Eggman must have messed up badly or something because his base just blew up and we didn't do it for once.)

Sonic Boom (TV series) would make Nine want to commit murder. He takes one look around and decides: no, he really doesn't want to deal with the insane Badger or the really really stupid Knuckles. So he does the smart thing and sneaks into Tails' workshop, jumps the kid, explains the situation, and Tails agrees to help him get home. Of course, shenanigans ensue and this turns into an episode of "Guys, Tails is hiding something from us. Let's try and figure out what!" With the incorrect conclusion being that Tails has decided to join Eggman or something and the crew break-in to fight him.

Nine comes back from a supply run (stealing things from Eggman) to find Tails tied up and under interrogation from his friends (Sonic is playing good cop while Amy is trying to be bad cop but Sticks keeps interrupting. Knuckles is holding the bright light in Tails face.)

Nine is not amused and ends up jumping all of them with Sticks screaming about EVIL CLONES HAVE COME TO REPLACE THEM ALL!!!

Tails jumps in and stops everyone from attacking, explains his alternate self, and Nine holds up that last piece he needs to fix his ship and leave.

So he does, with apologies to both Tails and Nine (minus Sticks because Sticks) and Nine leaves.

When your children come from the stars Sonic, Knuckles and Tails get adopted early and Tom and Maddie learn to look after alien kids.

Wachowski one shots a one shot collection for the Wachowski family. Mostly wholesome shenanigans but sprinkles of angst are planned.

7 times someone ‘kidnapped’ Knuckles in the name of friendship, and 1 time he did it back. a 5+1 style fic where Knuckles friends want to spend time with him. First chapter has Rouge and Shadow.

Vector the crocodile is everybody’s dad a collection of moments set during forces where Vector looks out for the younger members of the Sonic cast.

Friendship persists A frontiers inspired fic where sonic, tails, knuckles and Amy are all stranded on the starfall islands together with amnesia.

No child should have to inherit a war.   set in the movie universe this begins with sonic and Knuckles meeting up as kids and choosing to search for the master emerald together. They are joined by tails and travel across the galaxy. It’s kinda an adventure/ road trip style fic. Has a lot of cameos.

The ghostly guardian An au where knuckles is a ghost/spirt bound to the master emerald but because he has no one to compare himself to has never realized what’s unusual. There are similar story beats to canon with some deviation.

What’s a ship without it’s crew Set during season 3 of sonic x this is a group of one shots of random things happening on the blue typhoon. Some are chill shenanigans but some are character bonding with a nice sprinkling of angst

Aliens? in my town? it’s more likely than you’d think. Set in the movie universe and details the story of a family being completely oblivious to all the alien shenanigans going on. (Think Linda from phineas and Ferb)

HI I LOVE YOUR FICS AND ALSO I wanted to ask what would your dream sonic movie be? I know you talked about it being unabashedly like the games (like the Mario movie) and potentially adapting sa1 BUT what kind of themes and messages would this theoretical movie have? And what might you change or modify if you’re adapting sa1. Or scenes you imagine would just be SOO cool and good to have. Personally I love early Sonics themes (topics?) around cycles of violence and abuse of power and ending them through compassion, (ex: calming Chaos or Amy’s plea to shadow) and resisting against authority,(those r what I got from those games, at least if I had to briefly summarize) so that’s what I would choose them to revolve around. i suppose as a disclaimer of some sort, the movies i want would adapt the games. so right off the bat im going to anex all the humans from these adaptations. so no two worlds theory and no maddie, tom, wade, whatever.

if the movies HAD to follow a similar scheme to what we got, where sonic and a human bond after getting isaeki'ed, i would either

1) have the human be maddie and get rid of tom completely. maddie has the motivation of wanting to help animals as a veternarian and her goal would be to want to move on from green hills to help more people, but pressure from people around her keeps her stagnant. sonic arriving would prove to maddie that she's capable of doing more and better, and that her opnion matters more than those around her. basically the core message of the movie would be not to let people hold you back, and to never be afraid to be yourself

2) have the human be a young child. look i know people have mixed thoughts on chris from sonic x but having a character more similar in age to sonic would make a lot more sense- the audience market would be able to connect a lot better with the human, and i think the themes of growing up and being different than what your parents want you to be could be nice. i think the main themes would be to never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in to show compassion to those around you, and to be who you're meant to be no matter what others think. HOWEVER.... the ideal scenario is that the movies adapt the games, so without further ado......

GAMES I WOULD ADAPT

okay the basic idea is that there would be five movies as like, phase one. they adapt the games people are most familiar with, in this order:

sonic cd

sonic 3

sa1

sa2

"hey, what about sonic 1?" to be honest there's nothing in sonic one that couldnt easily be established in conjunction to sonic 2 so i think it'd be best to just squish the two together. also, i KNOW if there was a whole movie dedicated to sonic one, there would be an insistence to give sonic some sort of backstory, which i frankly hate. he doesn't NEED a backstory- he saw an injustice, and decided to correct it. simple as that.

sonic is popular enough of a franchise that you can just jump into the story without knowing a whole lot about it. the general public is usually aware of sonic, eggman, and tails, so having the first movie focus on those three without worrying about a backstory for sonic and eggman could easily work.

i would have liked sonic cd to occur before sonic 2 but i think sonic 2 sets up a good foundation for the wackiness sonic will get into- right now we'll just introduce sonic's heroics, eggman's machines, and the power of the chaos emeralds. sonic cd can help further explore the power of the chaos emeralds, and will also set up the time travel of sonic 06

objectively you COULD cut out sonic cd and have amy's arc be implemented in sa1, considering her storyline there, but i really do think the time travel in cd is a good segway for sonic 06.

sonic 3 and sonic adventure 1 explores the lore of the chaos emerald and the echidna clan. i think it'd be fun to mention gerald robotnik in either movie, as well as the gizoids.

sa1 and sa2 would probably just be one to one adaptations because they're a complete movie all on their own, honestly. most changes would be cosmetic but the STORY would not change.

after these games, the ones i would probably adapt are

sonic heroes, sonic rush, sonic 06, sonic unleashed. going to be honest there's not REALLY good story oriented games after this other than sonic generations, and sonic frontiers. so unleashed would be my stopping point from now, although i imagine this series would span quite a few years, so by the time we'd get to a sonic frontiers adaption, the game would have been out for several, several years. anyway.

CORE THEMES...

The main five games i wanted to be adapted (Sonic 2, sonic cd, sonic 3, sonic adventure 1, and sonic adventure 2) have the most cohesive storyline together, so i would be fine if the movies stopped after those five. but anyway i like to think each story builds off of itself

sonic 2

Movie Summary: A fight with Eggman leads Sonic to crash into West Side Island. Sonic meets Tails, who fixes up his plane and offers him friendship and expresses interest in helping Sonic. Sonic, however, tries to shake him off, not interested in friends or anything that might slow him down. Tails sets out to defeat Eggman by himself to prove himself to Sonic, and they eventually learn to work together to stop Eggman from collecting all of the mythical Chaos emeralds. Sonic learns the power of friendship and takes Tails under his wing, and the two go on to chase after Eggman, who now has an interest in something called Little Planet...

Themes: the main aspect of this story is sonic learning to care about others and work with a team. sonic saves the day and plays up being a hero, but when he meets tails, he doesn't know what to do with him. sonic has compassion and wants to do him right, but just doesn't know WHAT to do. sonic working alongside someone after going after eggman alone for so long is VERY difficult for him, but tails eventually teaches him Friendship. i guess the main theme of this is being aware of how your actions affect others, and that doing things with friends is better than doing it alone.

sonic cd

Movie Summary: Sonic and Tails investigate Little Planet and meet Amy Rose, who predicted that she'd meet the love of her life on Little Planet. Sonic, Tails, and Amy investigate Eggman's wrong doings until Eggman unveils his latest invention- Metal Sonic! Metal Sonic captures Amy, and Amy offers Metal Sonic compassion and frienship, while Sonic and Tails collect the emeralds and time travel to restore the land. Eggman manages to sweep in at the last moment and steal all of the emeralds- however, Metal Sonic, who learned kindness from Amy, decides to betray Eggman and aids the heroes in getting the emeralds back. Metal Sonic is destroyed in the fight, but the day is saved; Amy stays behind while Sonic and Tails head to Angel Island so she can train and become as great as Sonic one day.

Theme: the main theme of this adaptation is compassion- amy shows compassion to metal sonic, which i think would lead to metal sonic betraying eggman to help the heroes. sonic realises that threats don't always HAVE to stay threats- that saving the day is great, but helping others on an individual level can mean the world.

okay after these two movies, the game adaptations are essentially one to one, so the summaries aren't very important

sonic 3

sonic and tails investigate angel island. the main theme here builds off of the compassion that amy teaches sonic in the previous one; that sometimes people are misguided, and when you help them from the wrong path, you just might make a really good friend. sonic befriends knuckles after their miscommunication is finally cleared up.

sonic adventure 1

the main themes of the game still stand. sonic's learned from amy and tails the power of friendship, hope, and compassion, and uses these same values to defeat perfect chaos, by offering it the same virtues amy and tails gave him, and what he gave to knuckles.

sonic adventure two

same as the original game, tbh. this adaptation changes very, very little. i suppose the other message is that even if you try your best, some people don't want to be saved, and you can't save everyone.

my idea for these games is the emphasis on friendship and the power you have together. tails teaches sonic friendship, amy teaches him compassion, and knuckles teaches him forgiveness, and he uses these tools to help him defeat perfect chaos. and individually, these characters learn bravery from sonic, which aid them in helping save the world during sa2.

Who Is Callie MacPherson?

Okay, thought I'd do one of these since I have such a BUTT-TON of writing apparently and many of them feature Cal. For any who stumble across these snippets or shorties and don't know me or my stories, it may be pretty confusing. "Who the hell is Callie and why is she all over the damn place?"

So.

Callie MacPherson is the head librarian of the Green Hills Public Library. (Introduced in After the Dust Settles.) She was friendly with Sonic before Tails and Knuckles showed up, and when the other boys arrived, she offered to teach Knuckles how to write. Since the echidna wasn't totally sold on this whole family thing at the time, he saw Callie as a scholar, and spoke with her when he needed council. As such, she shares a stronger bond with Knux than she does with either of the others.

Once the boys were settled, Tom and Maddie determined that leaving them to their own devices while they went to work wasn't a great idea (there were shenanigans) so they enlisted Callie to act as a tutor to give the boys some education and maybe keep them out of trouble in the meantime. The boys head to the library during the day to do some learnin'.

After some time, Silver shows up, crash landing in Cal's backyard. She's adamant that she doesn't want to keep him, due to an abusive past that took her son from her, and the pain she still carried from that. She'd been keeping everyone at arm's length since then, and it took some time to sort through and decide to take Silver in as her own.

A few months after that, Eclipse showed up, resulting in more rocky interactions, before she took him in, too.

Personality-wise, Callie is snarky, stubborn, sarcastic, down to Earth, caring, prideful, kind, sometimes a little impatient, can have a bit of a temper, but overall tries to look out for others when she can. She doesn't always act in exactly the right way, but her heart's in the right place.

She tries to portray herself as confident and in control, but can have a bit of anxiety. She tends to pull her hair and get snippy when stressed.

Wade becomes her first friend in her adult life when he helps deal with Silver's arrival, and two become best friends as they help each other through that whole situation. (This friendship will eventually grow into something more over time.) Tom and Maddie and their boys become like extended family, once Callie decides to let her walls down and let others in.

Knowing how innovative all three boys are, they sure would build one hell of a treehouse

They spend an hour triple checking every tree in the yard before getting to work.

Tom and Maddie go out for date night, and that’s when construction truly begins.

Tails is going all out on this project. He’s finally the leader for something and he’s having a grand time telling his brothers what to do for once.

Once the main structure is built, Tails takes on the finishing details while Sonic and Knux look for things to put inside.

They come back to a full fledged security system complete with a motion sensor camera, a ring doorbell, and a keypad lock so nobody besides them can come in. He also took it upon himself to reinforce the structure so it’s nearly indestructible. His personal favourite touch is the Sonic Canon- cause you never know when you may need to launch your brother into the abyss of space. It pops out from the roof when Tails sits in a chair specially made for him and his namesakes. Tails also somehow made it so that it looks small from the outside but it’s a big ol clubhouse on the inside. He refuses to share his secrets.

Knuckles added some nice touches too. He went back to his original home to grab some decor. He also visited Sonics old place and found an old picture of him and Longclaw.

Bringing it home they decide to dedicate a portion of their clubhouse in memorial to their fallen family members. Sonic and Knuckles share a bonding moment over it. Tails doesn’t know anything about his parents except they gave him up, but they did leave him a little music box. It doesn’t play as well as it used to because he played it so much the little gears are wearing down.

Sonic adds a special Sonic touch to the place. He put a little stove, fridge, and those hot dog grills you see at the mall food court. What for you may ask? Chilli dogs.

Sonic also gets a big stereo and coloured lights so they can dance the night away.

When it’s all completed they stand back and admire their work. Sonic goes “..hmm.. it’s missing something.” then runs off and comes back with some rope and a tire. He ties it to a branch and BOOM IT IS DONE.

Mind you this was all done in one night.

So when Tom and Maddie came back, they saw the cute little wooden treehouse in the backyard completely unaware of its true form. They go into the back and Ozzie is barking at Knuckles who is spinning because he sat on the tire swing and Sonic started to twist it up.

They think it’s really sweet how they bonded over a project like this.

Maybe one day they’ll get to see the interior. One day when the time comes.

Hello Mystery? :3 ...Want another scenario? Been thinking this one over yesterday, featuring...our favourite pink, hammer-wielding, adorable Hedgehog :3 Hope you like it!

"Are you sure you'd like to do this?"

Amy asked curiously, sitting in front of Maddie's vanity mirror in the bedroom. It was just the two ladies today. Tom was with the others in the garden - they could hear Sonic and Knuckles arguing over a point in the game, and Tails offering to come up with a way of telling who won (While hearing Rouge teasing them and you could hear Shadow shaking his head in disapproval from upstairs).

"Of course I'd love to do this. We all deserve to have some time to look refreshed." Maddie responded, laughing a little, as she started to brush through Amy's quills.

"My quills may be sharp."

"Oh, don't worry. I've had more than enough practice with Sonic's quills and Knuckles' dreads. I think I'm immune to...quill pricking now."

Amy couldn't help but giggle. She was nervous, but deep down, she'd been looking forward to spending some one-on-one time with Maddie.

She remembered when she first saw Maddie. This confident woman, no, mother, who would do anything for her boys - even if her boys came from another world. They clearly were a family of love...not genetics. No matter what that lousy G.U.N. kept trying to pester.

And during this last endeavour, Tom and Maddie joined in with a lot more action than they'd probably thought of...but they would gladly do it all over again for their family.

Amy remembered Maddie with a little bag, full of small, but powerful gadgets of all sorts - clearly the smarts of Tails' genius!

Amy giggled a bit, "You were cool out there."

Maddie looked curiously, brushing Amy's quills gently, "Hm?

"You had a bag full of Tails' weapons over your shoulder. You were awesome!"

"Oh! Hehe, that was all Tails' idea. He learned of how I ended up using his little gadgets before, when I had to save my boys from G.U.N. in Hawaii. He was stunned to learn how I used them. So...he got me a little backpack, and made a bunch of them for me to use - only when necessary of course."

"Wow! Really?"

"Yep. It's fun too. I both get to be a part of the action...and fulfill my childhood dream of being some super cool spy action hero with a bag of wacky but powerful gadgets."

Amy could only giggle. Maddie wasn't wrong. She was clearly an idol to admire.

"And you clearly know how to stand against a big villain too. You were amazing with that hammer of yours. Even Knuckles tried using it...failing miserably."

Amy blushed shyly, "I-I-I don't think I was that good...I just d-did what I have to."

Maddie looked at Amy and smiled warmly, "Your heart is full of love for those around you. You didn't know my boys for even a day, and you were more than willing to go on the front line with them."

Amy nodded a little...

Indeed, Amy joined the battle without knowing the Wachowski family for even a day, but so quickly...she bonded with the Wachowski boys almost immediately. Sonic was amazed with her defiance (And the fact that she was a hedgehog too), Tails was more intrigued with Amy's weapon of choice, and Knuckles admired Amy's odd strength - seriously, she's so far the only person to give him a handshake without breaking her hand.

And Maddie would never forget the end of their last battle...

When everyone thought Sonic and Shadow were gone...

Only to suddenly appear before them! It was so dramatic...but Tails and Knuckles tackled Sonic in a hug, clinging to him desperately to make sure he was really there! Amy watched happily, with tears in her eyes...

Only to hear them call her name...and open their arms...

And Amy joined their huddle!

Tom and Maddie were both struggling to hold back their happy tears...and allowed all their new companions, Amy, the infamous thief Rouge, and even the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow, to join their home.

And very quickly, Tom and Maddie started seeing Amy as a daughter. Amy would always join the boys with their sporting days and usual antics - she and Sonic have earned themselves the nickname 'Disaster Twins' for a reason, you know.

"I...guess I didn't want anything to happen to them...or you."

"And that is okay. You followed your heart, which is what we always encourage. It may scare us...and age us a couple of years, but you kids always try to do the right thing. Out of love."

Amy took in Maddie's words...and smiled softly. There was some feelings in her heart she'd not felt in a very long time.

"Aaaaand...there!"

Amy looked up in the mirror, to see how Maddie styled her quills. Her mouth hung open in awe, admiring the pretty Hedgehog in the mirror - was that really her?

"I think my quill-styles are getting better." Maddie winked, putting a hand on Amy's shoulder, "What do you think?"

Amy could only smile...and tear up a bit.

"T-Thank you...Mom!"

To Heal A Knight

Another one. Legend of Zelda has snared my brain especially with all the hurt/comfort potential, k? So why not focus on the potentially most traumatized Link, Post Majora's Mask. If you prefer to use Jojo's Linked Universe name for him, Time. And then insert a family who will throw hands with a god for their kid's sake, the Wachowskis from Sonic 2020.

Thus this idea was born. After leaving Termina in search of Navi, Link doesn't end up back in Hyrule. The Lost Woods decides to drop him and Epona off at Green Hills, Montana. After the events of the first movie but way before Sonic 2. Gotta give him enough bonding time and Sonic some older brother experience.

Something occurs to startle Epona knocking Link off his steed and leaves him with a badly sprained leg. Sonic finds the injured Hylian while Tom comes across Epona. The hedgehog has a bit of difficulty getting Link to follow him back to the house. He's reasonably weary but eases up upon seeing his horse at the house.

Epona has a keen sense when it comes to people so not anyone could handle her without an issue. The fact she'll let Tom lead her is enough proof for Link to trust them. Of course, he doesn't take the news about being in a different world well. Tom, Maddie and Sonic are way more concerned about hearing Link's adventures. No kid should've experienced the kind of horrors like Link did, being asleep until he's seventeen is no excuse either.

Thus they take it upon themselves to help the young Hylian heal, both physically and mentally. Give him a chance to experience some sort of childhood that he rightfully deserves. And that's what they intend to do. This is a tale of home vs heritage, healing, found family and revelations.

Will Link stay with the Wachowski family instead of returning to Hyrule? Maybe, maybe not. I can say he'll be taking part in Sonic 2 events alongside bonding with Knuckles and Tails. There will plenty of mask shenanigans and Tom might be hearing a certain trapped deity in his head.

Fierce Deity, who I call Valion, will definitely make a bunch of appearances. We need more Fierce Dadity. Although I will say that it won't always be through Link. Hehehehe~

Now if this Link gets involved with the Chain of Links or Linked Universe, both are separate options, his nickname is 'Kintsugi' cause he and Time can be considered two different results of fate. If you are curious about what Kintsugi means, it's 'The Beauty of Imperfections.' A Japanese art of repairing pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with gold, silver and platinum.

The encounter will also happen post Sonic the Hedgehog 2 cause I love the potential chaotic shenanigans between four adopted siblings, their foster parents and literal godfather with this gaggle of Links. Especially when they're all under one roof. Plus the Wachowskis just being equally protective of the Chain.

Interactions would definitely include: parenting an adult more traumatized version of your son, kitchen mishaps via cooking lessons, Links being natural gremlins, Tails being a menace especially around magic, and a bunch of traumatized adults getting hugs (some might end up in a blanket burrito by Valion.)
