ourgh yes many. a lot of them are now much more common knowledge (measles destroying all prior immunity is now much better known bc covid seems to do a similar thing etc) let me wreak and wrack my brain for a good one

all i'm coming up with is that pliny the elder thought men and women had different numbers of teeth. which is really funny bc you could just count them.

My very first amigurumi pattern release, and it's free!

I have some others I plan to sell, but this one is a little more simple and I figured it would be a good introduction to my style of pattern. This pattern makes a smol cat (think palm sized). You'll need basic crochet skills and the ability to read a pattern in American terms. If you make one I'd love to see!

BTW this wasn't tested. I copied the steps from my personal notes that I've used many times but there's always the possibility of typos, so if you see something off let me know so I can fix it.

actually do you think yosuke and yu would be able to hook up again after that disastrous first relationship experience. or would yosuke just combust from all the cringe the memories bring with them

LOLLL. ultimately when they reconnect i think they’d start as friends again, and that would give yosuke enough chance to get the hell over himself (as much as even possible) before they try again. or it happens by accident. the scenario i’m envisioning is like:

2011, they date, it’s bad

they break up, yu returns to the city

as he’s leaving, yu says “keep in touch, alright?”

yosuke does not, in fact, keep in touch

yosuke gets through his 3rd year at yasogami, graduates, and works at junes for a year or two

in that time, he does some serious thinking about his past present and future, grows as a person, reevaluates his place in the world now that it doesn’t revolve around one person or a murder case, and decides he’d like to go to college

moves to the city for college

suprise suprise, he runs into yu eventually

but yu is genuinely happy to see him again and makes the effort to reach out

they start hanging out again

yosuke was sure it would be awkward cause of their history but it’s actually just good and comfortable like it used to be, but better cause they’re both mature people by now

like frogs in a pot of boiling water, their rekindled friendship becomes less and less strictly platonic as the weeks and months pass by, both too scared to acknowledge the past or present because it’s good this time

yosuke, with his newfound (and hard fought for) self-awareness, gets his shit together and drops the sword of damocles himself

got the idea yesterday of Shadow being a knitter so I decided to doodle it today. He's not wearing his gloves cuz I figured they probably hinder his knitting ability (and I didn't feel like drawing them lol)

A little project I've been working on for the past week- a semi-realistic jumping spider plush! This one is the very first prototype of a pattern I made from scratch and I only have a few tweaks to make; I'm honestly very proud of how it turned out! 100% sewn by hand because I didn't feel like digging out the sewing machine

Day 17 (30 Days | Homestuck - Day 3) - Patron Troll (Nepeta Leijon)

I may not have intended it, but it seems I've started aiming to do pieces with more perspective playing into them for these 30 days. I wonder if I'll do stretched proportions as well.

The biggest challenge here was definitely the pose. Why so? Because the idea was to make Nepeta look like she was doing that cat wiggle, except cats have a lot more back to do that with compared to a humanoid, so it looks more awkward on a humanoid. I just had to make do.

Despite the trouble I had last piece with the head shape, this one actually turned out nicely. Part of it was just moving the whole eyes up but the other part was shifting the nose and mouth down more (while making them still visible; earlier parts of this piece had the mouth completely hidden). It looks like her head is indeed facing downwards as she looks at you.

Those hands...that's where my energy left me and I couldn't put in the effort it needed. I've been getting better at more complex hand details, but actually posing some of them isn't so simple, especially that angle. I'll be sure to work on them next time, but it was what the piece called for, energy or not. At least it still provided...some...practice heheh
