I once joined a crowd of Progressives taking a 'survey' Trump periodically puts out (to his followers) that's designed to stroke his ego, and gives him skewed numbers to 'show' that he's doing 'what the people want' (only HIS people until the first one got spread to the rest of us). After that, it signed me up for his email list (which goes straight to my Spam folder, of course). Still, I check them periodically just to see what he's saying. It's always lies and exaggerations... and ALWAYS railing against the "Fake News media" and left-wingers. Of course.

In one paragraph he'll call for unity, then in the next say it's the Democrats who are the ENEMY of unity and need to be "destroyed." Uh huh. Unity for only "his people" against everyone else, apparently.

This time, it’s yet another painting of news media (specifically not-blatantly-rightwing-news) as an outright traitorous enemy of the administration and the citizens.

Anyway, seeing the attached message this time, I have a nice proposal that I'd love to see presented to him: If the news is SO fake, SO misinforming and SO full of made-up, unverified claims... How about this: Call for the people in your administration to draw up a bill forcing news media to have accountability for what they report. Call for all news to be verifiable and truthful before it hits the airwaves. Call for harsh penalties for news companies that actually report 'fake news'.

(That used to be policy before the Reagan administration got rid the FCC's Fairness Doctrine, allowing Fox News to become its current lie factory.)

That has to be something everyone would agree on, right? Leftwingers sure do (HELL YEAH I SURE DO!!!), and rightwingers CLAIM SO LOUDLY that they do... but does Trump, really?

I can guarantee that unless bogus riders are attached, the Democrats won't even fight it, they'll smoothly let it be approved all the way to his desk to sign into law!

Do it, President Trump! If this is such a rampant problem, I'd LOVE to see you actually take steps to SOLVE it! You'll JUMP at the chance, right? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight????? :P

........I know he won't. He depends on the actual fake news on Fox and Breitbart to spread his propaganda, and leans on that crutch of a term just to discredit the REAL news making him look bad by simply reporting the TRUTH about him.

But boy, wouldn't it be fun for someone to pose this question to him at a big public event, and watch him flounder and sputter as to why he hasn't done this by now and/or won't? I wanna watch his mental contortions as he tries to make the idea sound unreasonable. I wanna watch his followers cheer at the idea, and him blubber at them to stop wanting it. XD
