Pros : The ADHDon't medecine is working. I can hear myself thinking and generally are much aware how scattered my brain is. My impulse control is still crap but at least I'm a lot more aware of it. Like I stop in the middle of doings Things™ sometimes and goes "why the fuck did I started doing that while I was doing that other thing instead". The "dry mouth" side effect is actually useful cause I drink three times more and are for once correctly hydrated.
Cons : It worsened my hearing sensitivity. Worsened as in doubled. In a week and half span. It's terrifying. The lowest sound level on my phone became "too much" after more than ten minutes. Even with the headphones in my ears but no sound, I am still far too aware of all the sounds around. I can't watch TV with my mom anymore because the constant sound changes drive me crazy. I almost had a panic attack at work again. Because of a phone ringing in a "bad tone". Children's cries turned into a weapon of mass destruction for my hearing and I have to work around children so if it keeps going it will become difficult really fast. The sounds I hear now have a direct influence on my mood: I listened to the same song almost constantly on repeat yesterday from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. the next day because it put me in a "zone". I had "zone" sounds before but not to that extent.

I don’t think I’ve really thought enough about how certain sounds should not make me want to throw up. Like I knew it was a trait of The Autism but I don’t think I really realized how much my sensory issues really affected me physically
#autism spectrum disorder#autism#neurodivergent#sensory overload#adhd#actually autistic#anyways there was construction happening in the office below mine and the sounds of the hammers and drills made me nauseous#they’re done now but my nerves are totally fried and I keep shaking and having a hard time breathing#I’m also just extra sensitive this week#I’ve been needing my noise cancelling headphones more often to deal with noises that wouldn’t normally bother me#and ive been needing darkness more too#idk it’s weird because I’m not used to admitting that I’ve got these traits and need accommodations yet#and so idk how to explain it to people and ask in a way where I won’t get seen as pathetic for being unable to think if I hear a lawnmower#lmao

Time Of The Month

Summary: Logan returns home to see that you started your period.
Pairing: Worst!Logan X Fem!Reader
Authors Note: Hi guys!! This is my first time writing for Logan or anything inside X-Men/Deadpool/MCU! Plus it’s my first time writing anything involving Character/Reader so I hope I do good!
Tags/Warnings: Fluff, period talk, No use of Y/N, cuddles, Worst!Logan being domestic. Mentions of Wade and Blind Al. Pet names (Baby, Kiddo, Sweetheart, etc.) Drugs (Cocaine MENTION only), Drinking (It’s Logan come on!) Smoking (AGAIN, It’s LOGAN we’re talking about here! Lol) Age Difference (Reader is 21+)

Logan sighed as he walked into the apartment building he lived in. Another long day at the construction job that Wade got him as soon as he got settled in this universe. Nothing glamorous or anything but it was something.
When he walked up a few floors he heard loud arguing about who stole whose cocaine. Logan shook his head as he kept walking, “This is why I moved out…” He thought.
7 months ago, Logan met you when you first moved in. Something about your calmness and quietness lured him in and the two of you spent time together, getting to know one another. Logan found it amusing that you were a gamer and yet, liked to read and relax in the quiet as well.
You meanwhile eventually found out everything about Logan, how he was a mutant, a former X-Man and not from this universe, which you found fascinating. What really surprised Logan was how you accepted him after he told you what he did in his old universe.
“But you saved this one, didn’t you?” You asked him as he told you everything.
“Wade and I did but-“ Logan began to say but you cut him off.
“Logan, you proved that day that you changed, that you are an X-Man, THE X-Man, you’re a different person then when Wade first pulled you from your old universe.” You said.
“Sweetheart…” Logan sighed as he just hugged you close.
“I really don’t deserve her…” Logan thought as he was almost to his and your’s apartment, as he was getting close however something strong caught scent and he stopped for a moment. “Ah shit…” He thought as he walked again. “Time of the month.”
Soon as he walked in to your shared apartment, he saw you laid down on the couch with your Nintendo Switch and Headphones on focused on your game. “Must be locked in or whatever she calls it.” He thought as he went to the kitchen and got a mug out of the cabinet and put some milk in it and put it in the microwave for a minute or two. After he got it out, he went and got a pack of Hot Chocolate and mixed it up then went over and put it by the coffee table where you played. Then he went to your room and got changed out of his work clothes and into a wifebeater and sweatpants and walked back out and got a beer out of the fridge and sat down in the arm rest and lit up a cigar and watched you.
You were locked in as you played a round of Fortnite Festival. Since you woke up and found out you were on your period, you didn’t feel like doing anything but lay around and play on your Switch. You decided on Fortnite Festival since you needed to advance your battle pass and your favorite way to do it, other than Zero Build was by playing Festival. So that’s all you did today minus take a nap as well. Soon as the song was over, you laid back and sighed and noticed the hot chocolate.
You turned off the noise cancelling on your headphones and looked over and saw Logan. “Hey you! When did you come in?” You asked smiling at him.
“Just a few minutes ago kiddo, bad this month?” Logan asked taking a puff of his cigar.
“Yeah.” You said softly. “I didn’t even get out of my night gown today, I’m so-“ Logan cut you off there.
“Don’t apologize bub, you can’t help it.” He said gently but tiredly.
“I didn’t even make dinner yet.” You sighed.
“C’mere.” Logan smiled softly as you put down your Switch and walked over to Logan and sat on his lap then he put up the arm rest so the two of you were cuddling. “I’m not mad baby, we’ve been over this. You don’t have to worry ok?”
“I’ll try not to.” You said as Logan kissed your forehead.
“Good.” He said as he pulled you close and you wrapped an arm around his torso.
“God you feel nice right now.” You mumbled into his chest.
“You do too kiddo.” Logan smiled as he rested his face on your head for a second before taking another puff of his cigar. Normally you HATE being around people who smoke, but with Logan, you find it comforting for some reason.
“Long day?” You asked looking up at him.
“As usual, didn’t help I heard Al and Wade arguing over cocaine on the way up.” He said and you started giggling.
“How many times this week?”
“Don’t know, don’t care. I don’t live with them anymore so it’s none of my business and I don’t want to know.” Logan said rolling his eyes.
“How about I Doordash something for us and we spend the night listening to music or watching a movie.” You suggested.
“I’d like that kiddo.” He smiled softly as he lifted your face up to look at him and the two of you shared a kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Logan.”

Hello?! I hope I'm not late to make a request😅
May I request for Hoshina's reaction to making the reader accidentally cry?Reader is sensitive to loud noise like loud voice, thunders etc...and Hoshina has always been careful in raising his voice at her or attentive but he accidentally raised his voice at her because he mistook her as someone else?
Omg hello! Welcome to my page. You are not too late- I would be honored to write this for you.
The Sound Of His Love
Soshiro Hoshina was sweet, he was funny, he was protective, he was charming- but the thing that stood out the most to you was that he was incredibly considerate.
Your entire life people had teased you for scaring easy- whether it was thunderstorms, construction, fireworks, it didn't matter. Someone could close a door a little too loudly and you'd jump. You couldn't help it. Something about volume was overwhelming to you and you found yourself constantly shrinking at how loud the world was.
But not Soshiro Hoshina. He was gentle, he was soothing. And when he learned about your sensitivity to noise, he made every effort to be a safe haven for you. He didn't see you as lesser, he just saw you as someone who needed a little more love and he always had an abundance to give.
He even let you move into his place after your neighbor got a particularly noisy, particularly rowdy new dog. The man was a dream come true.
So now you wanted to do something to surprise him. You'd never been able to visit him at work because of all the shooting drills that were going on and the possibility of the alarm going off any second to signal a kaiju attack, but today you wanted to try. He was always cooking for you and cleaning up after you (even going so far as throwing out his old vacuum and just sweeping the carpet so as to avoid any noise), so this time you decided to make him a lunch to thank him.
You plated it all pretty in your little bento box and even put a sticky note on top with a little love letter on it.
You had already called up Mina the day before, Hoshina- being the thoughtful person that he was- had introduced the two of you in case you couldn't reach him (and he also just wanted to show you off to someone), and she had approved your little surprise visit, saying she'd help anyway she could.
So today you put on your noise cancelling headphones and make the walk over to the base, your lunchbox in tow. You're greeted at the door by Mina and she leads you to his office to sit and wait for him. Then she gets the idea that she should dress you in one of her uniforms so you look like a soldier, "I bet it'll really do something to that boyish brain of his to see you like this", she winks. You blush and let her do what she wants.
Then you just sit in his office chair and wait.
Little do you know, Hoshina is having the worst day. He had to make the long journey out to the First Division today on almost no sleep for a joint mission, he usually gets a kick out of pushing Narumi's buttons but today the Captain was being extra irritating towards him for no apparent reason, and to make matters worse, Narumi got most of the kills causing Hoshina to sulk about why he was even there in the first place. And then, just to add to his already miserable day, his train ride back got delayed, he got soaked waiting in the rain for it to come, and he was starving. By the time he dragged his dripping, aching body back to his office, he just wanted some piece and quiet and of course he opens the door to find some soldier twiddling their thumbs in his chair.
"Soldier!" He booms. "Who told you that you could let yourself into my office?? I want answers, then I want push-up's, then I want your sorry ass out of my damn office!"
With every word he thunders, you flinch, sinking deeper and deeper into his chair until you feel the tears starting to well up. You know he doesn't know that it's you and that he's probably just had a bad day, but you're still shocked to find that your gentle boyfriend can be not so gentle when he's not around you. You slowly swivel the chair in his direction, your shaking hands lifting the hat away from your face, revealing your tear-stained cheeks to him.
He drops to his knees in an instant.
"Baby..." He gasps. "Oh my god baby, you're here."
You give him a small, weak smile, trying to wipe the tears away, embarrassed that they just keep coming. "S-surprise?"
He slaps his forehead- hard. "I-I'm... I'm so so sorry for yelling at you baby. Please don't... please don't cry, I'm sorry." He pulls himself to his feet and envelops you in a warm hug, repeating his apology over and over again in whispers until you've stopped shaking.
"I-it's okay." You say finally.
He shakes his head vehemently. "It's not okay. I never should've raised my voice at you even if I thought you were an officer, I was just having a bad day baby I'm so sorry. It's really not who I am."
You smile again, this time more confidently. "I know that's not who you are baby. I'm sorry you've had a bad day. I made you lunch."
You gesture to the bento box that's been waiting on his desk.
His eyes widen and he starts to look even more ashamed. He falls to his knees again, curling up and laying his head in your lap. "I don't deserve you." He murmurs, stroking the length of your legs.
You start to blush and you're glad he's nuzzled himself against you and can't see your rosy cheeks.
"I can't believe I made you cry. I swore I'd never make you cry." He mumbles against your legs.
You rub a hand over his shoulder. "It's okay baby, really. I know you didn't mean to."
He shakes his head again. "It's not okay and I will never make you cry ever again, please forgive me."
You kiss the top of his head. "Already done baby. Now eat your lunch so this trip was worth it."
He pulls away from you, finally able to smile. "I'll clean the whole box out if it'll make you happy."
He finishes scarfing down the food and you both walk home together, hand in hand.
This relationship of yours may at times be difficult to navigate, but you know he always tries his best and that's enough for you.
Decades down the road, when you're both old and gray, you smile to yourself as you realize he's kept his promise, he never made you cry ever again.

workaholic kaveh (bc career>therapy)
love the hc where kaveh, fresh off the heels of the thesis breakup w alhaitham, basically just launches himself into massive overwork
bc u can't dwell if u're constantly working! 🧠
after the palace of alcazarzaray's second rebuild, that was the first free time he's had in years
bc he had to probably do a ton of extra work for graduation after their thesis failed, he mentions in his vl's that he was overworked by his seniors at his first job post-graduation, and he achieved a TON portfolio-wise in the 5-10 years since he left the akademiya
the benefit of all this overwork is:
his reputation is GREAT even tho his clients grumble about his attention to aesthetics🙄
he doesn't need to think about his personal problems! at all! absolutely no time for that!!
which includes never needing to reflect on the roots of the breakup
so in the wake of his self-inflicted bankruptcy post-palace construction... the workaholic that is kaveh finally has free time
and he has absolutely no idea what to do with it
and he's not comfortable bc he's:
bankrupt
homeless
alternating between being incredibly day drunk/hung over
finishing a massive creative project is just EXHAUSTING. like so much energy and passion and emotional investment was put into that palace, and now he's getting congratulated for the palace while also having to pretend like he's totally hanging around a tavern 24/7 bc he WANTS to be there (and not for any other reason)
and with free time to think about, well, everything
oh how the insecurities & anxieties & Bad Thoughts start to creep in🥲
but who can kaveh talk to about this? he can't let anyone know he's ruined by his greatest work yet (he can't let the palace be tarnished by his bankruptcy)
but kaveh's also incredibly strong emotionally, despite all of his troubles
he's able to redesign the 2nd floor of lambad's tavern in literally less than the 2 weeks he stayed there, and he kept up his social image of the famed architect celebrating a masterpiece of the ages
i think a lot about how kaveh seems uncomfortable in times of rest and tranquility... that bad hours and urgent deadlines and a too big workload done pro bono (for free) feels easier/more natural...
aka why he's so good at denial & Not Thinking about certain facts in his life 🙈
such as why alhaitham might have extended a helping hand and offered his home to kaveh without seeming to get much in return...
altho as part of kaveh's character arc, which includes reconciling with alhaitham post-PoP, he later starts to have an inkling...
the big question ofc is will he process /why/ alhaitham helped 😆
but in general i think keeping busy as a way to Not Think contributed a great deal to why kaveh's relationship and reactions to alhaitham's behaviors/words changes so much from when we first meet him in the Sumeru AQ to now (his bday letter anyways)
consider this:
alhaitham had 2+ years of akademiya after the thesis breakup (less if he graduated early ig, but regardless, years) without his most significant friend/influence/confidant around so he had a lot of time to process what happened and to make changes from then
meanwhile kaveh's constantly caught off guard by the differences in his expectations of how alhaitham would react (based off of akademiya-era alhaitham)
vs alhaitham's current-day behavior
like ofc its normal that people change after several years and after not being in school, but kaveh basically froze himself and his understandings of alhaitham's character in time, like a fly in amber
so he has to make much more obvious changes in his behavior to catch up on all those lost years, which we see happening in real time in canon!
alhaitham changes too (look at him distracting kaveh from his depression like a champ in kaveh's hangout! uh huh he really heard us thru his noise cancelling headphones? 🤨)
but they're more subtle shifts
anyways hyv did so good when they cooked up kaveh and alhaitham dkfdlijdk

could be with only wanda or both :) I get anxious when there are sudden loud noises that surprise me because I wasn't expecting them especially in the streets with car horns, jackhammers and so on.
my heart beats faster and I become hyperaware of every sound for a few minutes with racing thoughts and tensed muscles-- like i need to be in a calm area after that or i'm just going to be tense the whole day. (purchasing a noise-cancelling headphone literally saves my life) Thank you for writing those things, honestly it's "good" to know that others have the same anxiety about certain things
- 🍷
oh wanda is definitely the type where she does the sidewalk rule (iykyk) and if when you’re walking, there’s a loud horn or some construction going on, she’ll wrap her arm around you and pull you close, reassuring you everything is okay.
“are you alright, detka?” she would ask as she notices your tense shoulders and slightly frozen expression. you slowly nod your head, but she knows you’re trying to tough it out. she’d pull you aside at some park, sitting you on the bench and rubbing her thumb affectionately over the back of your hand until your heart rate slowed down and you felt back to normal.
also, whatever noise it was that caused you to be a little shaken, she most definitely would throw a death stare to. whether it was a construction worker, someone in their car, etc.

HOW VERY UN-GREEK (s.r.)
IN WHICH: Spencer Reid meets Juniper Bishop, the new team member, on her first day at the BAU and finds it hard to focus.
PAIRING: Season 3 Spencer Reid/Fem!BAU!OC
CATEGORY: fluff
CONTENT: IQ slashed to 60, Derek being an idiot, equally genius character, teasing, 3rd person, and a good introduction to who Juniper Bishop is.
WORD COUNT: 5.7k
PUBLISHED: 29/09/24

DR. SPENCER REID ARRIVED EARLY to work that morning and went through his usual routine. He’d cleaned his desk, poured himself a hot coffee with four teaspoons of sugar for added energy, and prepared himself as best he could for whatever the day had to throw at him. Murderers, arsonists, or just straight up creeps were standard for the BAU, and that was part of the reason why he loved the job so much. Nothing was consistent, but the methodology–the construction of the profile, the analytical processeswere always the same.
But, as he sat there at his desk, the only one in the middle of the bullpen, he wasn’t sure what today would provide. There had been no recent string of deaths in the news, no strange threats sent to local police departments, no rumours of wayward prisoners. The day looked as if it was set to be normal. Or, as normal as a day in the BAU.
Crossword spread out in front of him, Spencer Reid savoured his coffee as the early morning light spread across his desk. The bullpen was deserted, his only glimpse of other life the occasional figures flickering past the glass doors. Usually an empty bullpen was a blessing for him. No one would interrupt his thinking with stupid questions (Derek), pestering about his non-existent love life (Emily), or try to convince him to another BAU pasta evening (Dave). Typically, he liked the silence. Just him and his thoughts.
Today, though, something was different. He couldn’t concentrate. The building was too still. As if it was holding its breath. The anticipatory feeling soured the taste of his coffee, blurred the edges of his mind. Spencer didn’t like it one bit.
He looked up on instinct when the elevator dinged open. Spencer took pride in knowing his surroundings–in fact, Spencer took pride in knowing everything. He had seen a lot in his time, and could remember every single painstaking detail. He could remember the exact shade of green the taxi driver was wearing this morning, to the precise number of pancakes he ate on his first day in the BAU. He’d always thought of his memory as a benefit, the thing that makes him him.
It was only when she waltzed out of the lift did he decide he wasn’t sure about that anymore.
The first glimpse he got of her was all leather. Dark brown, it hugged her from ankle to throat. It covered her long legs, stretched tight over her ample thighs, and left very little to the imagination. Even from this distance, he could see that it wasn’t a single piece, but rather two–a long sleeve, high necked jacket, reinforced at the elbows and shoulders, paired with a slightly looser set of leather trousers, padded at the knees and thighs. It moved with her like a second skin, slightly scuffed and obviously well loved. Painstakingly maintained.
The second glimpse he got was gold. Not the gold of a dollar, but of copper. Red hair, cut to her collar, so fine that it caught the sunlight like thin strands of metal. As she strode from the maw of the lift, it drifted around her face as if she was walking through water. Spencer found himself wondering how soft it would feel between his fingers before he caught himself. No. She wore big, noise-cancelling headphones, the dark green a stark contrast to the copper of her hair.
Her skin was pale, spattered with freckles, face flushed as if she’d just run a marathon. She was all soft angles, wide eyes, full lips currently pursed. There was nothing harsh about her. Everything was smooth. Gentle. Sloped.
Spencer’s mouth dried as she shouldered the door to his bullpen open and stepped through. A cold breeze washed over him and brought with it the subtle scent of petrol. The strange woman hadn’t noticed him yet, too busy rummaging around in a large duffle bag hanging from her shoulder.
She struggled to pull a thick, manilla file from the confines of her bag, gloved fingers slipping over the material. The woman grumbled in annoyance and yanked one of the gloves off using her teeth, dropping it carelessly into her open bag. With a bare hand, she successfully extricated a sheet of paper–she still hadn’t noticed him. Part of him wondered if he should say something, announce his presence before he freaked her out, but another part of him was frozen to the spot. Like a deer that has just spotted a lion.
Then, as if sensing his gaze, she looked up. Her eyes, a startling shade of emerald green, locked onto his. She jumped.
‘Fuckin’ hell–’ She swore, clapping the bare hand to her chest and taking a shuddering breath. With her free hand, she slipped her headphones off and dropped them around her neck. ‘I didn’t see you there.’
She spoke with an accent he couldn’t quite place, but she definitely wasn’t from Virginia. No, it was clipped. Darker sounding. Spencer could only watch as she picked her way through the bullpen towards him–should he stand up? Should he say something? But, then what should he say?
‘I wasn’t expecting someone else to be here so early,’ she explained, coming to a stop next to his desk and offering him a smile that seemed to light up her whole face. ‘I was kinda hoping I could sneak in, get the lay of the land, before anyone else.’
‘Uh–’ Spencer Reid, the man with a vocabulary that could rival several dictionaries, some of them not even in English, was momentarily speechless. He cleared his throat and gestured lamely to his desk. ‘I’m Dr. Spencer Reid–I work here.’
‘I should hope so,’ she said, a flicker of amusement dancing behind her eyes. She lent back against the empty desk perpendicular to his, crossing her legs at the ankles. ‘If you didn’t, I’d have to call for security. And then question why the FBI has such lax security on its buildings in the first place.’
‘I…uh…’ God, he was being an idiot. All he had to do was string a couple of words together to make a sentence. That’s it. It was as simple as that, and it’s something he’d been doing his entire life. Why, then, when faced with this strange woman, did he find it practically impossible? His cheeks heated.
‘It’s alright, I won’t tell.’ She saved him from his misery by dumping the bag onto the empty desk. ‘I’m June. Juniper Bishop–they moved me up from Crisis Negotiation. I’m gonna be working with you guys for the foreseeable future.’
Juniperus communis–a coniferous tree or shrub, evergreen, that can grow up to 32 feet in height, and has been known to live for over 200 years. A hardy plant that thrives in chalkland, mostly found in Europe or the northern hemispheres–in traditional folklore, the juniper tree was used as a deterrent for witches or the Devil.
She was still looking at him. Expecting a reply.
‘What?’ The word came out strangled, forced, and he turned his head down to look at the crossword before him. He hadn’t heard anything about a new team-member. Spencer is 99% sure that Hotch would have told him if he was endorsing someone new to come join, especially so close to Gideon leaving. Though, Hotch and Morgan had been acting strangely these past few days.
‘Yeah, I’m kind of excited, actually. I’ve always found the BAU interesting.’ Juniper’s voice was light, airy, and Spencer found himself relaxing–just a little. He risked a glance up at her and was met with a megawatt smile. It was almost blinding. ‘I’ve heard a lot about you guys. I’m looking forward to working with you.’
‘Uh…sorry, no one told me anything about it.’ Spencer said, hating how weak the words sound. When he looked at her, though, all he saw was her utmost attention. It scared him a little, like he was a mouse under a car’s headlight. ‘I wasn’t expecting a new team member so soon after…’
‘Gideon requested me.’ She said, and those three words jarred through Spencer like a nail. Juniper stood up from the desk and began to shrug herself out of the leather. He had to look away. Not just to process the fact that Gideon–his Gideon–had requested someone be transferred without mentioning it to him, but also to avoid looking at her as she effectively stripped. ‘I worked with him on a couple of CNU cases, kind of told him how much I was interested in Behavioural Analysis. He introduced me to Hotch a couple weeks ago.’
‘Oh…’
‘I’m sorry.’ She said, and sounded genuine. There was a rustle, and Spencer looked over just in time to see her yanking her trousers off–thankfully, she was wearing dark green suit trousers underneath. She’d paired it with a pale pink long sleeve top that clung to her curves very distractingly. ‘I assumed everyone knew.’
‘It’s not your fault.’ Spencer said, averting his gaze yet again and staring down at his crossword. He could still feel her eyes on him and it made his skin prickle. ‘Uh, welcome to the team.’
‘Thank you.’ She smiled, voice still light despite the sincerity behind it. She moved from behind the desk, and Spencer watched her approach from the corner of his eye. Juniper was still graceful despite the heavy boots, and he found himself mesmerised by the way she moved. It was like she was dancing, even when she was simply walking towards him. ‘So, what brings you here so early, Reid?’
‘Uh…’ he looked up to find her leaning on his desk, peering down at the crossword before him. ‘Nothing exciting. I just like to have the morning’s to myself.’
‘My apologies for interrupting, then.’
‘No–no, I mean…that’s…I just like to relax before everything gets crazy, you know?’
‘Ah, I understand. And you relax by doing crosswords?’
‘Well…yeah. How do you relax?’ He replied, a little harshly. It sounded as if she was teasing him and he didn’t like that. There was nothing weird about doing a crossword, was there? He’d never considered it something worthy of teasing before.
‘No, no, I respect it.’ She must’ve picked up on the discord behind his words as she shows him the palms of her hands. Juniper laughed, the sound a breath through windchimes. Spencer found himself smiling despite his momentary irritation. ‘I ride.’
‘Ride?’ Spencer echoed, frowning. ‘Ride what? Horses?’
‘Hah, I wish. I don’t know where I’d keep a horse in my flat, is the only problem.’ Flat. She called it a flat. British, then. It made sense, really–now that he’d sussed it out, it was nearly impossible to miss. Southern, probably, the picture of stereotypical received pronunciation. ‘I ride a motorbike, Reid. You know, two wheels, engine, leather and chrome?’
‘Oh.’ Spencer frowned. It should have been obvious, really, what with all the protective gear, but it still sat weirdly on him. ‘Did you know that the chance of fatality in a motorcycle crash is approximately 30 times higher than that of a car? And that if you were to get into an accident, you’d have about an 80% injury or death rate?’
‘Yes, but 34% of fatal accidents are because of speeding, and 27% involve alcohol of some kind.’ She retorted back instantly, but there was a bemused smile on her lips. ‘And whilst, yes, motorbike accidents are more dangerous, there are statistically fewer of them than car crashes per annum. On top of that, if the person is wearing a helmet that meets the governmental standards, their risk of death is reduced by 42%, and the risk of head injury by 69%.’
Spencer couldn’t do anything other than stare at her. His mouth was slack, slightly agape, as she rattled off a variety of statistics. The words fell from her lips like they’d always been there, and she spoke with an ease that hinted at an intelligence he hadn’t expected. She knew the numbers. She understood the numbers. She didn’t just spit them out–she knew what they meant, too.
‘So,’ Juniper said, pushing herself off of his desk to stand. ‘If I ride carefully, wear the correct gear, and don’t drink before I get on Maple, my risk of death is significantly reduced.’
‘But…but it’s not eliminated.’
‘You could say the same thing about a car. Or a plane. Or lifts.’ She said, angling her head as she looked down at him. Spencer wasn’t sure if he liked the fact that she was standing over him, but he definitely liked the broad smile she sent his way. ‘Plus, a little bit of danger is fun.’
‘Fun is subjective.’ Spencer pointed out, but he couldn’t stop the slight upturn of his lips. She was infectious in a way he wasn’t used to—confident, with an easy smile that she wasn’t afraid to send his way. ‘I think I’ll stick to my crosswords, thank you.’
‘Each to their own.’ She said with a shrug, moving back to her desk where she’d dumped her bag. Juniper began to rifle through it again, and it was only when she started to drop things into the drawers that Spencer realised this was her desk. Right next to him. She would be perpetually in his peripheral vision. Oh, God. ‘So…what do I call you? Dr. Reid? Agent? Spencer?’
‘Uh, Spencer is fine.’ He cleared his throat, tapping the tip of his pencil against the half-finished crossword.
‘Spencer, then.’ Juniper said, and he didn’t miss the way her lips curved around his name. It sounded different coming from her. There was a strange intimacy in the way she vocalised it, dark and alluring. ‘You can call me June, by the way. Or Bishop. Or Hops, if you like. Juniper sounds way too formal. It’s also what my mum calls me when she’s mad at me.’
‘Alright.’ He replied, turning in his swivel chair to face her. ‘June it is.’
She smiled in return, sparing him a brief glance as she continued to unpack her belongings. A small framed photograph of what Spencer assumed was her family was propped up by the computer. A couple of knicknacks–a small statue of the Moirai was placed next to a bust of David, the top of his head removed and filled with pens and pencils. A battered notebook covered in stickers. A partially solved Rubik’s cube. Another frame, this time holding a print of a bird he couldn’t see enough of to identify.
‘So,’ she finally spoke again, filling the silence. ‘When do the rest of the team arrive? I’m supposed to meet Agent Hotchner to sign some paperwork and stuff.’
‘Any moment now, actually.’ Spencer glanced at his watch and saw that it was nearly nine. ‘They usually arrive around this time.’
‘Good.’ She said, and even though he wasn’t looking at her, he could hear the smile in her voice. ‘I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the infamous BAU.’
As if on cue, the elevator doors slid open and a few more members of the BAU spilled out and into the bullpen. Spencer watched as June straightened in her seat, a professional mask sliding over her face. Only the hands pulling at her fingers in her lap betrayed any sense of anxiety. Gone was the easy smile, the relaxed posture–instead, she was a picture of military precision. Spencer couldn’t help but wonder if this is the June he would have met if he hadn’t accidentally scared her into ease. He frowned.
Derek was the first one to spot her. He stopped dead in his tracks, nearly to the point where Emily crashed into him. Luckily the brunette dodged aside. A coffee cup was forgotten halfway up to his lips. Spencer watched as his eyes raked over June, taking in the red hair, the tight top. He was practically drooling.
‘Well, hello, there.’ Derek said, voice smooth as silk as he approached. He deposited his coffee cup on his own desk opposite June’s and walked around to greet her. June rose too. ‘You must be Agent Bishop. Welcome to the team.’
‘Thank you–Derek Morgan, I presume?’ June said, taking Derek’s offered hand and giving it a quick shake. Was Spencer the only one not told about the new team member? ‘Do call me June, though, my last name seems a bit formal for a first meeting, don’t you think?’
‘June.’ Derek repeated, as if savouring the words. Spencer fixed his attention back to his crossword, but he found it nearly impossible to focus. Not when Derek was so obviously checking out the new team member. ‘Hope you’re ready for a wild ride.’
‘Those are the only kind of rides I go on.’ June countered quickly, but Spencer had the distinct feeling that she wasn’t Derek’s number one fan. Maybe it was all the ogling. ‘I’ve heard a lot about all of you.’
‘Good things, I hope.’ Emily said, having spotted what has attracted Derek’s attention. She offered June a friendly smile, and Spencer was pleased to see it returned. ‘It’s nice to have some new eyes.’
‘Thank you–Emily Prentiss?’
‘Please, just call me Emily.’
‘Only if you call me June.’ The two women shook hands, a silent agreement passing between them.
‘So, June.’ Derek perched himself on the edge of Juniper’s desk, still inspecting her with that undeniably profiler-y look. It was as if he was stripping her down to her base elements, and Spencer would not have liked to have been on the receiving end. ‘I see you’ve made yourself at home already.’
‘Was that not correct?’ June sat down in her seat and pushed herself away from the desk, putting a little bit of space between her and Derek. Spencer tried not to be too pleased that she was now closer to him. ‘I figured it would be easier to do it before you all arrived. Unfortunately for me, Dr. Reid was already here.’
‘He does that.’ Emily grinned, not unkindly at Spencer. He felt his cheeks flush, and busied himself staring down at the grid of white and black squares. ‘I can almost guarantee you that Reid will be here before any of us–are you sure you don’t sleep here, Spencer?’
‘I have an apartment.’ Spencer mumbled, not daring to look up. He could feel all three pairs of eyes watching him and he didn’t like it in the slightest. He knew he was blushing. It was a stupid question, and one he had been asked several times before, but it still embarrassed him. Especially in front of Juniper.
‘Doesn’t mean you don’t sleep here.’ Derek said, laughing. Spencer risked a look up to glare at him. He hated it when people made those kinds of assumptions about him. Just because he liked his job didn’t mean he didn’t have a life outside of it. He just hoped no one asked him for examples…
‘So, June, how did you end up being stuck with us?’ Emily said, thankfully changing the subject before Spencer could snap at Derek. She leant back on the divider separating hers and Spencer’s desk.
‘I was with Crisis Negotiation for a while,’ June replied, twisting idly in her chair. To anyone else, it looked like a casual gesture, but Spencer could tell what it was. A nervous tick, something to help calm her down. He knew it because he did it too. ‘I worked on a lot of cases with Agent Gideon. He and I talked about the BAU and I told him how much I respected the work and would be interested in giving it a go. He recommended me to Hotch, and now here I am.’
‘You’re Hotch’s new pet project, then.’ Derek said, and there was something in his voice that Spencer couldn’t quite identify. Spencer narrowed his eyes at his colleague over his coffee mug. Was it jealousy? Annoyance? Spencer didn’t have much time to dwell on it because June was laughing again, and the thoughts slipped out of his mind.
‘I wouldn’t say that.’ She said, shaking copper strands around her face. ‘But Agent Hotchner did seem very keen to have me on board. I suppose I have Agent Gideon to thank for that.’
‘It’s just Hotch you have to worry about now–don’t worry–’
‘Where’s your accent from?’ Derek interrupted before Emily could continue speaking, head angled to the side.
‘Where do you think?’ June replied, fixing Derek with a firm expression.
‘Southern England.’ Spencer answered for her, surprising himself a little. He hadn’t intended to speak, but once the words started he couldn’t stem the flow of them. ‘Clipped vowels, elongated and darker ‘a’ sounds–it’s received pronunciation, or the Queen’s English, so I’d say further south than London, maybe Chichester?’
June spun her chair towards him and fixed him with a curious gaze. It wasn’t intense, but she was definitely scrutinising him. She pulled her lips into her mouth and cocked her head.
‘Close. Very close.’ She said, sounding–and looking–impressed. She offered him a genuine smile and Spencer felt his chest warm. ‘Brighton, actually. Or, I suppose, Alfriston, seeing as you appear to be well versed in English geography.’
‘Brighton, huh? Like the rock?’ Derek said, leaning forward. Spencer wasn’t sure if he’d actually looked once away from Juniper since he’d first laid eyes on her. When he spoke next, he winked. ‘Perhaps you could show me around sometime?’
Spencer had to physically restrain himself from rolling his eyes.
‘Hah, I’m sure the internet has plenty of information,’ June replied cooly, crossing her legs and raising an eyebrow. ‘Besides, I doubt we could get enough time off from the FBI to hop back across the pond.’
‘She’s got you there, Derek.’ Emily chuckled, patting her colleague on his shoulder as he looked wounded.
‘Well, not with Hotch around.’ Derek grumbled, but he had the decency to look a little sheepish. June’s lips twitched. Spencer had the distinct feeling that she was enjoying this. He wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
‘Speaking of, here comes our fearless leader.’ Emily said, nodding towards the glass doors. Spencer followed her gesture and saw Hotch striding purposefully across the bullpen, trailed by a bemused Agent Rossi. Hotch didn’t look best pleased. ‘Someone’s in trouble.’
‘Let me guess, you forgot to fill out a form or something?’ June asked, turning to Spencer with a raised eyebrow.
‘Oh, no,’ Emily spoke for Spencer, leaning in conspiratorially. ‘Spencer doesn’t forget anything. It’s kind of his thing.’
June laughed and turned to Spencer. She had that same expression on as before, the one that seemed as if she was taking in every aspect of him and weighing it against…against what? A perceived idea of him? Suddenly Spencer became very aware of the fact that his tie was crooked and he’s pretty sure he spilt some toothpaste on it this morning. God, he wished someone had given him some warning that there would be a new team member starting today.
‘Good morning, everyone.’ Hotch said, pulling himself to a stop in the middle of their little congregation. He looked at each of them in turn, lingering on June. She was now standing, hands in front of her, her jaw a tense line. She was nervous, Spencer realised. ‘Ah, Agent Bishop. I was expecting you.’
‘Yes, sir–’
‘Call me Hotch.’ He interrupted, but there was no malice behind his words. If anything, Spencer could have sworn he saw a glimmer of amusement in his eye. How rare, for their Unit Chief. ‘I trust you’ve been settling in well.’
‘Yes, thank you,’ June shook Hotch’s hand firmly, before tucking it into her pocket. She turned her shoulders towards Spencer. ‘Dr. Reid here has been very accommodating.’
Spencer felt his cheeks heat up. He was suddenly very aware of how much attention she was paying him, and it was starting to get overwhelming. He didn’t like being observed, least of all by someone who looked like she did. His crossword puzzle became very interesting again.
‘Good.’ Hotch replied, punctuating the word with a decisive nod. When he spoke next, it was to the entire group. ‘Now, there are some forms I need you to sign, but unfortunately we have been called for a case, so we shall have to do that later. The briefing starts in ten minutes–get your coffee, breakfast, whatever, and gather in the conference room.’
With that, Hotch turned on his heel and walked away. He headed up the flight of stairs towards his office, and Spencer could see the telltale head of hair that marked Rossi as already being inside.
‘Well, that was fun.’ Derek said, pushing himself to stand and sighing. Spencer watched June turn to look at him, her eyes scrutinising his every movement. Something inside Spencer twanged like a string. Jealousy? No, that couldn’t be it. ‘Don’t worry, Agent Hot-Stuff, you’ll get used to it.’
‘It’s Doctor, actually.’
‘What?’ Derek said, and Spencer was inclined to agree.
‘Doctor. Not Agent. Agent seems a little…mundane, no?’ June grinned cheekily, starting to collect a couple of her things together before pushing them into the big duffle bag she’d abandoned by her feet.
‘Medical?’ Spencer found himself asking. He looked at her with a newfound respect–not that a doctorate forces him to respect someone, but it definitely gave him a little bit more confidence interacting with her. Some common ground for them to meet in the middle on. It pleased him more than he was willing to admit.
‘No, PhD.’ June replied, meandering over to peer down at his crossword. She glanced up to see Derek’s surprised face. ‘Besides, Doctor sounds cooler, don’t you think? I don’t fancy getting confused with every other Agent in this building.’
‘What’s it in?’ Derek asked, folding his arms across his chest. It was a defensive manoeuvre, but Spencer knew that it was also a move to highlight the curve of Derek’s biceps. He’d seen Derek do it plenty of times to women at the club with varying degrees of success.
‘Classical History with an emphasis on Ancient Texts.’ June said offhandedly, like it was something everyone does. Spencer was already thinking of different questions to ask her; Classical History was fascinating to him, let alone someone who specialised in the literature of the time–maybe he could ask her about the formation of the languages? The more he thought about it, the more he realised he didn’t actually comprehend what it was that degree entailed.
‘Well, Doctor Bishop,’ Derek said, grinning. Spencer didn’t like the way he practically purred her title. ‘Perhaps you could teach me a thing or two.’
‘I’m sure you know plenty, Agent Morgan,’ June replied, and Spencer tensed as her hand curled around the top of his chair. He wasn’t sure if she had noticed that her knuckles brushed his shoulder, but he leant forwards just the same. ‘Besides, I repeat my former statement–the internet is a magical place.’
‘Garcia is gonna love you.’ Emily cackled, grabbing Derek’s arm and pulling him away from June before he could say whatever it was that was balanced on the tip of his tongue. Emily spoke the next words over her shoulder. ‘Come on, Derek, let’s get ourselves a coffee–do you want one, June?’
‘Sure. Caffeine is a lifesaver, after all.’ June laughed again and moved away from Spencer’s chair. She stopped after she’d walked a few steps. ‘Come on, Dr. Reid, your mug’s empty and you seem like the kind of guy who has a caffeine addiction.’
‘Did you know caffeine is the most commonly used psychoactive substance in the world?’ Spencer found himself saying as he scrambled to his feet, grabbing his coffee mug and nearly knocking it over in his haste. Thankfully, she didn’t comment on it.
‘Oh, that’s cool.’ She hummed, and started to keep pace with him as they headed after the now obviously whispering Derek and Emily. Juniper was taller than he’d first thought, nearly coming up to his chin, and she walked as if she had all the time in the world. Her hair caught in the light, turning it more gold than copper. ‘Oh, by the way? Your crossword? Clue nine down is Phanes.’
‘What?’ He blinked dumbly at her, pulling that mental image of his crossword before his eyes. Nine down; un-greek god of cosmic origin. ‘Phanes?’
‘Yeah. It fits, right?’ She turned to look at him slyly through the corner of her eye. It’s all Spencer can do to simply nod at her, using an arm to gesture her vaguely towards where Derek and Emily were busying helping themselves to coffee. ‘Besides, it is kind of my area of expertise, after all.’
‘Evidently...’ was all he could manage.
He watched her bob her head in a nod before speeding up and leaving him at the edge of the small kitchenette. She skirted purposefully around the small circular table Derek and Emily were surrounding. Spencer’s eyes tracked her as she opened the fridge, his feet leading him towards his colleagues without even thinking. How on Earth had she known he had been struggling with that one?
‘What’s up with you?’ Emily asked, dragging Spencer back down into the real world.
‘I think Pretty Boy has a crush.’ Derek’s voice was melodic with teasing.
Spencer glared at Derek as Emily snorted into her coffee cup. They’re being ridiculous, Spencer thought, but he tried his best to ignore that little voice in the back of his brain that reminded him it only takes one-tenth of a second to make a judgement on someone, and he’d definitely made a judgement about June. She was beautiful, that much was for certain, and way out of his league.
‘Don’t be ridiculous,’ Spencer scoffed, but he couldn’t meet Derek’s eye. ‘She just helped me with the crossword, is all.’
‘So now you love her.’ Emily wheedled, nudging Spencer with her shoulder. Spencer made a pointed effort to look anywhere but at Emily or Juniper.
‘It’s alright if you do–she’s hot, man.’ Derek sounded too much like he was giving his approval for Spencer’s liking.
‘I…I hadn’t noticed.’
Derek scoffed a laugh. ‘I don’t believe that for a second.’
‘It doesn’t really matter what you believe, does it, Derek?’ Spencer snapped. He was definitely reaching the end of his tether with his colleague at this point. Sometimes Derek doesn’t know when to stop, and this was one of those times. ‘I’m going to make myself coffee.’
‘You do that, Pretty Boy, you do that.’ Derek clapped Spencer’s shoulder as he passed.
Spencer set about making himself coffee, hyper aware of where June was preoccupied doing the same thing not too far away. She took sugar and milk in her coffee, but perhaps she didn’t have as much of a coffee-sweet tooth as he did. On the counter next to her mug sat a large blueberry muffin. His mouth watered.
‘Oh my god, you guys!’ A familiar voice yanked Spencer out of wondering whether he should ask June if she knew where he could get a muffin like that. He turned to find Penelope Garcia jogging across the bullpen with her usual exuberance, her brightly coloured clothes in stark contrast to the white of the FBI walls. ‘There’s a new hottie in the bullpen! She’s got a British accent! And she’s a doctor! And she rides a motorcycle! I think I’m in love!’
June laughed as she stepped up to greet their technical analyst, shaking her hand gently. ‘You must be Penelope–I’ve heard a lot about you.’
‘All good things, I hope!’ Penelope said, batting her eyelashes playfully. ‘You have no idea how long I have wanted another girl in the department–do you like cats? What about television, do you watch a lot of television? Oh, we should go to the movies sometime soon, there’s this thing that I have been wanting–’
‘Easy, easy, babygirl, take a breather,’ Derek laughed, wrapping an arm around Penelope’s shoulder. ‘June’s gonna be here for a while, you can ask her these questions soon.’
‘Okay, yes, alright,’ Penelope forced herself to take a few deep breaths. ‘This is just so exciting!’
‘I know, right?’ June said, matching Penelope’s hyperactive tone, and Spencer could tell that she was being genuine. She had that megawatt smile on again, and Spencer had the sneaking suspicion that she and Penelope would get on like a house on fire. ‘I’m excited to be here. We should definitely go see something at the cinema.’
‘Promise?’ Penelope said, pouting playfully.
‘Pinky promise.’ June proffered her pinky finger and Penelope squealed. She quickly wrapped her own pinky finger around June’s.
‘Spencer, why didn’t you tell me the new girl was awesome?’ Penelope turned an accusatory glare to him, and he suddenly felt scrutinised again.
‘I didn’t know myself until this morning,’ Spencer replied defensively, and the group of them began to head towards the conference room, all still deep in this conversation. ‘She kind of…well, she surprised me too.’
‘Well, I, for one, am very glad you’re here.’ Penelope said, hooking an arm through June’s and leading her ahead of the charge. Spencer was more than willing to fall in behind them, nursing his hot cup of coffee between two hands. ‘You’re a breath of fresh air in this testosterone-filled room.’
‘I’m glad to be your Febreeze, then.’ Spencer heard June say with a laugh, and it brought a small smile to his lips. As he followed behind them, he found his eye lingering on the way her hair brushed against the exposed skin at the back of her neck, the slope of her hips.
Alright, fine, maybe Derek was right. Maybe Spencer did have a little crush on her, but in his defence, it was hard not to. She was furiously smart and absolutely gorgeous. She smelt like leather, petrol, and coffee–a strange mix, but it was alluring nonetheless. Juniper Bishop was a whirlwind of a person, and unlike anyone he had ever met. He just hoped that he would be able to clear his mind of all of this confusing nonsense before the case started.
Spencer couldn’t afford to be distracted, but Juniper seemed to be tailor made to do just that.
God, this was going to be dangerous…

all I think about is Spencer x autistic reader, or just nuerodivergent reader and the bond that they would share. Ps ily💞
as a very autistic person YES!!!
i always imagine spencer would end up with another autistic person just bcs it makes it so much easier and he'll have the understanding that he needs.
i really hate to see how he's treated by his "friends" throughout the show, they know he's autistic, they know he can't help it, they know he's just trying to make conversation yet they still shut him down and brush him off and basically make fun of him and i think that if someone came along who was like him and was completely willing and able to listen and understand he'd almost break down in tears after having been forced to mask for so long.
i imagine he would stim A LOT around an autistic partner just bcs he knows there's no judgement and nobody will ask what he's doing or tell him to stop, he'd also be able to indulge in the more "childish"(which is definitely the wrong definition but it's what it's put down to) behaviour of autistic people and probably ends up seeing you as a motherly figure that he never really had but definitely needed.
LOVES music at home with you, especially if you show him music that you like bcs it's completely new to him and he loves the different sounds and would gradually get more and more comfortable with dancing with you.
if you got him noise cancelling headphones as a gift he'd be very thankful but is convinced he doesn't need them and doesn't wear them until something like construction or loud neighbours make him put them on just to test them and he's immediately in awe and wants to slap himself for not using them sooner.
loves satin and silk, one of his favourite textures that helps keep him calm so one time when you're out shopping and find a silk handkerchief you buy it for him to keep in his pocket so he can constantly have it if he needs it.
i'm gonna stop here but can you tell i love spencer x autistic!reader?😜

Crossing The Line | Part 14
Said metalhead was wearing a leather jacket, black, ripped at the knee denim jeans with a wallet chain dangling from a belt loop draped round to his back pocket, a bullet belt, that shouldn’t have been as attractive as it was, combat boots, and an iron maiden tee.
His hair was its seemingly usual unruly mass of dark brown curls, and he had lightly smudged dark eyeliner around his eyes to make his eyes pop. That was the extent of how much effort Eddie had put into his outfit. And yet he looked like the tastiest little snack Steve had ever seen in his life, he loved it.
They were like polar opposites style wise but from the look on Eddie’s face they were both exactly what each other wanted.
“Sweater vest for Eddie” Steve parroted with a warm smile and a bashful little, “I figured… I mean… I thought you’d like it.”
Now, Eddie had turned up at that apartment, with the intention of figuring out whether or not Steve was wearing ear plugs at his gig and just lying to him to get into his pants (which, flattering, but also rude), and going from there.
But then Steve opened the door in that sweater vest. With that smile. Claiming he wore it because he thought Eddie would like it and his heart just did a series of pathetic flip flops and any hope of Eddie ever being mad even if he did wear earplugs went out the window because what the fuck. What the fuck.
What the ever-loving fuck.
How was this man real?
He needed to send Mike Wheeler a goddamn gift basket for sort of introducing him to the guy although he was pretty sure Mike would blow a gasket knowing he was severely crushing on the guy who apparently ‘ruined’ crazy train.
He didn’t even ruin it, it was just… a different style than Crazy Train was supposed to be in! “I love it… suits you way more than the metal look, definitely should have worn it for the gig.” Would have stuck out like a sore thumb but by god he’d have been the prettiest thing there.
Cool as a cucumber, Steve leaned himself against the doorframe, that bashful smile turning coy with just the raise of a brow and the flash of teeth “I dunno, then I’d have missed the look on your face just now.”
“Well I mean, sweater vests, cute glasses, slippers, are we having a cosy night in, Stevie?” Be cool, be cool, be super cool, don’t be a weird little nerd, don’t be a weird little nerd.
Steve reached out, warm hands taking Eddie’s own, then gently, he tugged Eddie inside. “Well, we can if you come in.” And he was hit by a wall of something delicious. A smell so delightful that his stomach just had to rumble in protest over the fact that he wasn’t already eating it.
Ear plugs? Who gave a shit about ear plugs really?
Okay no, he had to stick to some morals, even if his stomach was angrily telling him to wait until after dinner because then at least if Steve turned out to be a very sneaky asshole, he’d at least have gotten a meal out of the night.
“Wait wait” the door was closed but at least Steve seemed to pause, that smile dropping, replaced by curiosity, god how did he make that look cute? Stupid knitwear an glasses combo. “Okay so… this is probably gonna sound dumb, but Frank noticed it, y’know Frank, our bassist? He uhm… he noticed you were wearing what looked like ear plugs at the gig and uh…” oh god the eyes widened, his eyes widened, Eddie wanted the floor to swallow him whole. First real date in god. How many years? And he was fucking it up by bringing up something nobody else would bring up on a date with Steve Goddamn Harrington. “…Were they… earplugs?”
Fuckers would probably just be happy to be there. Could wear those big ol construction site noise cancelling headphones and nobody else would bat an eyelid, but it was about PROFESSIONAL COURTESY, Eddie was a musician too!
He didn’t want to be on a date with someone in the industry (wildly different success rates with it but WHO CARES) who was lying about liking his music to get in his pants.
It could have gone a few different ways, gaslighting being one of them, but Steve smiled, he had such a pretty smile good lord. “Mmhm, c’mere I’ll show you.” Steve was still holding his hand, so Steve had the full capability of pulling him through the entryway toward one of the two bedrooms in the obviously temporary apartment, probably just rented for the time they were there like an Air BnB situation. The room was pretty tidy, save for a little dressing table covered in hair products. “Theeese are them.” And he produced a little silver cannister from his bag and deposited it into Eddie’s hand.
Curious snooping was pretty much accepted in that situation, so Eddie unscrewed the top and emptied the contents into his palm, two sets of black earplugs with a little hole running through the centre, fitted with a sort of white mesh material which sat snuggly within the hole.
“…What am I looking at here, Steve?” Steve just breathed a little laugh and took one from him, then popped the centre circle out of one, the little white mesh disk sitting perfectly in his palm.
“So, short story long, I was a dumb teenager. Rich kid surrounded by bad influences, y’know the whole stereotypical drill, pretty much every magazine in the country and some outside of it painted me as kind of an asshole, ‘King Steve’ they’d call me. I hated it but it’s kind of like quicksand in those old adventure movies, y’know? Just dragging you under, inescapable. Anyway, I also walked headfirst into a low set doorway ogling Chris Hemsworth’s biceps so... I’ve had a few brain injuries.” He tapped the side of his head with his index finger twice in rapid succession. “That uh… it has side effects… brains are tricky, a few too many concussions can get you hearing loss, sight loss, it can get you chronic migraines, aversion to sound, lights, it can do a lot of invisible damage… I… struggle with sound sometimes. And my sight too hence the glasses, but sound is the relevant one here.”
Eddie tilted his head a little in question, a silent motion to continue, research had given him none of this information. Maybe that he was a shitty teenager once but nothing else.
“Sharp noises, like uh… electric guitars played in a certain way, speakers turned all the way up, I get migraines basically and these are designed to filter out certain pitches to make things easier on my ears. Maybe… maybe I missed a few chords here and there, maybe some of it sounded a little off, but I can still hear through the plugs just fine. Robin got them for me, they’re supposed to help people with tinnitus, sensory issues, migraines…” he took the plugs back one by one, placing them back into the cannister and dropping it back into his bag, before he returned to Eddie and retook his hands, giving them a gentle squeeze “I swear I could hear just fine during your gig, and I really enjoyed it. I really like your music, Eddie… I think you’re amazing.”
Eddie felt like he was going to spontaneously combust right there on the spot.
Flattery always did have a certain effect on him, and with it being laid on so thick, honeyed words without an ounce of dishonesty in them… there was really only one response he could conjure in the moment, “…can I kiss you?” And the smile it earned, worth the brain dead moment.
“Well since you asked so nicely, but only one, dinner first, kisses later.” Kisses. Kisses. Plural. Many many kisses. Eddie felt like one of those cartoon characters that got all flushed and then just simply melted. Even though the kiss Steve gave him was chaste, a gentle, but lingering press of soft lips against his own, one of Steve’s hands cradled his cheek and god,
How had he lived until that moment not kissing Steve Harrington?
“Nono one more” was his sole complaint when Steve eased back, feeling the breath of Steve’s laugh dusting his damp lips, and the caress of his lips so very close whispering,
“Okay, just one” before doing just that.

Pearl and Marina headcanons (with some Pearlina!)
Pearl:
Pearl squeaks, a lot, she squeaks when she wakes up or if she is surprised (if Marina hugs her).
She may act tough, but deep inside, she's a big softie, especially to her girlfriend Marina and Agent 8, they have heard Pearl talk in a soft voice and have seen her more gentle side, which is rare to see.
Pearl has a tendency to blush whenever she hears Marina's voice, but she often tries to cover her face, to no avail, Marina adores it.
She enjoys making ASMR videos for Marina, she makes them to help with Marina's sensory issues and when she's feeling stressed, she makes stuff such as lightly tapping on her crown or showing off her sparkly rings.
Pearl will sometime try to put mayonnaise on everything she eats, with Marina stopping her.
She walks around quietly rapping to herself when she's deep in thought.
When she's feeling lovey-dovey, she will curl up on Marina's lap begging for affection, which means lots of hugs and kisses!
Marina:
When Marina's happy, her voice will sound a little higher pitched and her tentacles will start moving slightly by the tips.
Marina enjoys reading up about various articles about technology and building information, she finds herself getting lost in these articles that she'll jump if she hears a sound.
She'll curl up to her girlfriend Pearl when she wants hugs and kisses.
If Marina sees some construction when she's out with Pearl, she will start happily stimming, from her tentacles moving excitedly to her flapping her hands.
If Marina's angry or about to have a meltdown due to sensory overload, her tentacles will start twitching, she'll softly huff to herself and may even angrily ramble in Octarian, once Pearl sees this, she'll go over to her girlfriend and try to calm her down with some ASMR, or just some cuddles until Marina starts to calm down.
Marina enjoys singing to herself while she's in the middle of doing something, Pearl loves hearing her girlfriend's beautiful singing voice.
Marina loves her Pearl plush, she calls it her ''Pearlie Plushie''.
She has some stim toys for when she's stressed from work or something else, such as chewable necklaces in the shape of an octopus, noise cancelling headphones, little trinkets that she plays around with such as beads and cubes with buttons that she can press.

Period Comfort from your resident emo
Synopsis: Just... Period comfort with Macaque
Genre: Fluff!
Pairing: Macaque x Reader
Word count: 544
Authors note: I just started my cycle and asked my friend who I should write for period comfort and they said Macaque so here I am
You groaned into your pillow, another wave of pain shooting through your body. The heating pad on your abdomen was doing its best, but your cramps weren’t going down without a fight it seemed.
You exhaled slowly, reaching over to your phone to try and see if anything on it would help distract you from your torment. You pulled your noise cancelling headphones from its charger, putting them on.
You unlocked your phone, scrolling through the various apps you had to see which one caught your eye. Then another stab from your uterus made you hiss, and flop back down on your bed.
Why must the world punish your because you were made to have kids? You were in no need of them right now, and not gonna be ready for them for a while, maybe even for your whole life.
A notification dinging brought your attention back to your phone. You looked and smiled when you saw the contact.
<3 My Dramatic Furry Emo<3
Darling, are you free tonight? There’s a new show in town for a few days and I was wondering if you wanted to go to it.
You frowned, texting back.
I’m so sorry, my uterus is currently murdering me and it gonna last me a few days TuT
Ah. I see, Ill be right with you shortly.
You raised an eyebrow at his reply, and jumped when you heard a knock outside your bedroom door.
“Come in!” You called out.
Macaque strode in, looking over your form. He squinted at the heating pad on your stomach, the noise cancelling headphones, and the open bottle of pain killers on your bedside table. He shook his head, but smirked
“If you need anything, you do know you don’t have to hesitate to say something, right?” He inquired. You scoffed, moving a bit to make room for him on your rather tiny bed.
“I would have, but I didnt need anything,” You insisted. Macaque raised an eyebrow.
“… I would have liked some chocolate.” You mumbled. Macaque chuckled, reaching into a portal he created and pulling out a small box.
“You’re lucky I picked this up yesterday to surprise you with today. It seemed my foresight comes in handy.” He quipped. You suddenly ripped the box from his grasped, opening it.
“Awww, you got me my favorites!” You cheered. Macaque smiled, walking towards your closet as you ravenged the box, watching the shadow monkey collect blankets and pillows.
“Uhhh, what are you doing?” You asked. Macaque just replied with a smug grin, and trotted back over, seeming to construct walls out of the materials, as well as wrapping you up.
“Macaque!” You squealed as he wrapped you both in the blankets. He chuckled, taking the box from your grasp.
“I think this calls for a does of sleepy cuddles and rest. Doctors orders.” He stated. You snorted, but snuggled up to him. He purred softly, wrapping his tail around your midriff, squeezing a bit to put some pressure on your abdomen to help with the pain.
“You know I’m here for you no matter what, right dear?” He whispered in your hair. You smiled against his chest, and sighed in content.
“I know, you’re always here. You’re my warrior after all.”

Transitioning to a Flip Phone: Beginning
As my semester started winding down, and finals started ranking up I found myself going back to the ever-present though of transitioning to a flip phone. I finally did it! Here is how it is going. I had done tons of research about transitioning to a flip phone months before hand, I didn't have many requirements like needing WhatsApp or any particular apps as I had access to my computer for specific things such as banking and schoolwork. I ended up going with the Sunbeam Bluebird for a couple reasons, despite its price. (also I just wrote it off as a reward for completing my semester lol)
Accessibility: I knew I wanted a T9 flip phone, a QRTY keyboard would have never worked for me at a flip phone size, woe to my fine motor skills. Voice-to-text is an option if you pay for the subscription (I do) and so although I try to exclusively type as a way to get proficient, longer more urgent texts can be sent quickly. Its very accurate as well! Restrictions: No social media! No googling! No videos! Nothing! Its all I have ever wanted from a flip phone, restriction wise. Instagram reels is/was such an addiction for me, and even with time-limits, greyscale, and just un-downloading it, I always came back to scroll. I was debating on whether or not I wanted a search engine, because although I love to google all the random questions I have, I also will absolutely read on AO3 for as much time as I can possibly allocate to that. Although I am not a huge fan of reading FF on the laptop, its a small workaround for the benefits im seeing. On the case of music: Spotify, I REALLY wanted to keep this as an app, but knew that with what I was looking for I would need to take that loss. I can download music onto the phone through an SD card, and it still has bluetooth which means I am still able to use my noise-cancelling headphones. Additionally, I mainly listen to music while im studying, which means I can just listen through my laptop; and I dont mind driving in silence. Basic Qualifications: Number one, navigation, Im in an area where the construction is crazy and I cant always rely on road signs. I live out in the country, so I havent needed or had the chance to memorize anything other than my usual routes and highways. Luckily, the Bluebird has Waze (which I had never used before) but it works really well! I will need to find a way to attach it to my dash so I'm not looking down at my lap though... I mentioned bluetooth in restrictions, but it was important to me that I could connect my QuiteComfort Bose headphones, especially being on a loud college campus and needing some peace and quiet to study properly.
The transitionary phase was incredibly easy, I have an AT&T phone plan and I just switched my SIM card from my iPhone to my Bluebird. Boom. Done. I imported my contacts with a MicroSD card which was equally as efficient. I can still access and use Messages on my MacBook, but they don't sync to my flip phone. All messages go through to the device I last messaged on. I did have to manually set up my voicemail, but that didnt take much effort.
The only difficulties I have had to deal with is that both my job and my school require apps for two-factor authentication. I believe I can work around that for my school, and get authentication codes by text message, but for my work I don't have that option. This is a big reason why I am considering keeping my iPhone useable, just without a SIM.
On the note of what I am going to do with my iPhone, for right now it is being kept charged and usable, because I'm still transitioning some of the information (like menstrual trackers) and the mentioned need for TFA. Another PRO about the Bluebird is that it does have hotspot capabilities, so Im assuming I would be able to connect my iPhone if I was ever out in the wild and needed to use it, assuming of course that I had taken my iPhone with me.
Day 3 Final Overview:
I have gotten quicker at typing on the T9 predictive keyboard and feel confident responding to messages without using text-to-speech. I also figured out how to attach media to my messages, which means everybody is receiving grainy low-quality pictures of my cats. Im finding that I have so much extra time to do things during the day. Where keeping up with household chores sometimes gets overwhelming by becoming a huge task to schedule into my day, I can do smaller things during downtime. Reheating some food for lunch? Five minuets in the toaster? Boom, I can clean off the counters, sweep the floor, and pick up a little as I wait. That makes such a huge impact on my day-to-day especially compared to the 40 reels I could have seen and than totally forgotten. I learned how to change the ring-tones for my contacts and notifications. There is a 'wolf howling' option that has been dedicated to my friends, of course. The little jingle of my phone can only mean that someone has texted me, so I'm less paranoid about notifications and the urge to pick up my phone whenever I see the screen light up. That was such a huge distraction in my day, picking up my iPhone to check my notifications quickly turned into a 'quick scroll' through Pinterest (my beloved) or Instagram, which was constantly detrimental to my studies. In overview, I'm having a good time and I'm excited to stick with it, especially as winter break approaches (TWO MORE FINALS LEFT LETS GO) and I have a ton of free time I would have spent on my phone. I'm excited to start reading more!

I still try to learn how to cope with overstimulation. I have a high sensitivity to loud noises, specially when it takes so long to became calm again…
Today was hard because of construction work next to our house. It took the whole day and what made things worse is my noise cancelling headphones stopped working 🥲❤️🩹
Hoping for a better day that’s all.
