Hello.

I'm Theo [they/them]. <- Follows from @earthenremains

A thirty year-old non-binary secular witch.

I've been loosely practicing for seven-ish years.

My path is solitary mostly by choice, and I can be quite skeptical and realistic, which as I'm sure you can imagine, can make practicing witchcraft a challenge at times.

My current areas of interest are:

Death work - My path started in earnest in 2017 while dealing with the grief accompanying a very sudden and unexpected close familial death. But my interest in death work precedes this, as I have been a member of the Vulture Culture community for over ten years, working with animal remains in all their forms.

Tarot/Cartomancy - Despite owning a handful of decks, I am still very much learning to read the cards. And before you ask, no I do not offer readings nor do I ever plan to.

Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) - I have been a patron of the trees since I was a child, always content to sit beneath their branches and focus solely on nature. Well before I knew its name or origins, forest bathing was my way of meditating and finding calm.

The personalized path - I've spent far too long trying to follow the 'trending' paths of others. Forcing myself into a mold that has never felt quite right. So I am learning how to carve my own path and do what feels right for me.

Welsh witchcraft - It may or may not become part of my craft, but after some recent family tree delving, I'd like to learn more about Welsh witchcraft, folklore, and general history. So if you've got some resource recommendations, send them my way.

My intentions for this blog are to collect and curate posts I resonate with, and to eventually create some posts of my own to better define my path.

a lot of witchy youtube thoughts

I have several things I’d like to touch on (none of them negative!). This is more of a brain storm (in language I don’t speak as a native), but please bear with me. (TLDR at the bottom)

(I will be making separate posts about this later)

1.

Firstly, I have been thinking about opening a store for the longest time. A lot of the things I’ll be selling will be witchy, which is why I’m saying this in the first place (who would’ve thought?).

So, the reason why I’m saying this in a post about witchy youtube channels/videos, is because I’d love to film myself making the stuff I’ll be selling, and just chatting about witchy things. I have been feeling strongly about needing a more proper witch community lately, and right now this seems like a good way to gather one.

If I go through with my idea, I’ll be making a new post about it, but I’ll quickly make 2 things clear about this idea:

  1. Everything I earn will go to my transitioning. I feel like this is something that should be made clear (in my case at least!) because then people can choose whether they want to support that or not.

  2. The videos would be purely for my own fun, and for community reasons. Like I said, I’ve been feeling strongly about the need for a community, but obviously I can find a different way to do so.

I’d love to hear peoples thoughts about this, btw.

2.

I think I’ve talked about this before (?), but I am working on a lot of grimoire related stuff. Admittedly shit kinda went sideways, but I have been getting back on track and I think (hope) I’ll be done with my plans by the end of the month.

What I’m doing is making two separate youtube playlists. One with grimoire/BOS walkthroughs/side planning, and another with bookbinding/how to make your own grimoire/BOS. 

I know a lot of beginners *love* to watch grimoire videos (and honestly, same) so I figured I might as well just gather them all in one place. I’ve also got a side-tumblr (@grimoiredinsp), where I try to reblog all grimoire pages I can find.

TLDR: I might open a (mostly) witchy store, and would love peoples input on this. I am also working on a project to make grimoire playlists for people who love watching others grimoires/BOS as much as I do.
