September 15, 2023 Very recommendable witchy fiction.😍 I love the series "The Witches of Portland" by T. Thorn Coyle because the witches there and their magic are depicted in a realistic way. T. Thorn Coyle is a witch and it shows in their fiction. Also, the characters are diverse and there are also some interesting activism topics. The ebook of part 1, "By Earth" is currently free on all retailers. https://books2read.com/by-earth

What character would you be if you were in a movie/series/book?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pile 1
you would be a badass person, you recognize and know your values, your limits, everything that happens and doesn't happen, you remind me in a way of hippies, you would definitely have that vibe, of being those good vibes friends who never seem like they are in a wrong frequency because they already understand what life wants but with a roguish smile they carry that secret in their pocket.
pile 2
bridget jones, yes, you have that vibe, or something similar, in some way you would be starring in a romantic film or series or about overcoming a relationship, one of those stories where the person is completely devastated at having ended the relationship but discovers in the end that all along she just needed to give herself a chance.
pile 3
look, it would be something related to a journey of self-discovery, you feel lost with life, or something that you thought would be right for you turns out not to be putting all your beliefs into a thoughtful mode, you would travel to somewhere far away and relax and maybe discover something new from you, it reminds me of one of my favorite films that I love most in the world, eat pray love.

🧹 When Dorothy triumphed over the Wicked Witch of the West in L. Frank Baum's classic tale, we heard only her side of the story. But what about her arch-nemesis, the mysterious witch? Where did she come from? How did she become so wicked? And what is the true nature of evil? Gregory Maguire creates a fantasy world so rich and vivid that we will never look at Oz the same way again. Wicked challenges all our preconceived notions about the nature of good and evil.
❓What are your thoughts on the trailer for the new Wicked adaptation?
💜 Thank you to @gregorymaguire and @williammorrowbooks for these fresh copies of the Wicked series. This gorgeous set comes out on October 1, 2024! It includes:
🧹 Wicked 🧹 Son of a Witch 🧹 A Lion Among Men 🧹 Out of Oz

Hi honey! How are you? How’s your mom doing? I hope she’s better now🥺💚
I’ve recently decided to learn how to book bind bc it’s a must to have my fav fanfics as actual books. I’m still learning and it’s probably gonna take a while before I get the results I want but I wanted to ask you if it was okay with you to book bind The Red Thread? Obviously it would be just for me, I would not sell it or make any profits. (And if it turns out how I want to, I would love to gift you one👀)
It’s one of my favourite fanfics of all time, like it’s a masterpiece and I would love to have a physical copy of it<3
And I know it’s not finished yet but it’d probably have to be a few volumes anyways bc it’s a lot so😅
She's doing ok! Progress is slow but it's definitely happening! She's graduated from at-home physical therapy to outpatient, which is a HUGE thing. We've gotten the house pretty well set up too now (chair lift for a section of stairs not covered before, new railing on the front steps), and between me, dad, and sis's various sleep schedules, we're all able to make sure she has someone nearby when she needs help getting around or opening things. I'm still in caretaker mode and trying to balance everything, but she's getting there, so I hold onto that! As for me, I'm doing... ok I think, considering how exhausting and brutal the past few months have been. I'm taking @shouldbestudying41 's advice and just trying to be kind to myself, and I'll admit my brain seriously needed the break. I continue to miss Cato something awful, but I've felt a little more settled since his ashes came home, and I think I'm starting to adjust to sleeping without him next to my pillow. I also got my follow-up today with my cardiologist on my heart issues and their answer was basically a shrug and a, 'we have no idea why your heart's doing this, but it's getting better every time we test you, so keep doing what you're doing!' Which could be worse. So... I'm getting there. Slow and steady!
And oh my gosh, you absolutely, ABSOLUTELY can bookbind TRT, thank you! 😭The idea anyone would love it enough to bookbind makes me SO FUCKING HAPPY! Hell, if I could sell copies at cost I would, but sadly that's a huge no no and all I can do legally is tell people, YES you can bookbind TRT for your shelf! I'm 100% supportive basically (also I would D I E if I got one, like no pressure at all cause D A Y U M it's a long thing to bind, and also just knowing it's out there on someone's shelf is more than I ever expected would happen so I'm delighted even if you just bind for you!).
TRT volumes one to ten maybe??? LOL. I know I had it planned as a series originally before I decided to just kinda keep it in one thing since we were all already there LOL.

The Secret Service of Tea and Treason is a Treat
India Hilton returns with her beloved characters and witty plotting, bringing forth a novel so genius and tantalising that you’ll be just like the agents fawning over Alice and Bixby. The Secret Service of Tea and Treason is a delight to read and a perfect way to spend an afternoon in bed. I appreciate the pining and comical slow-burn aspect of this book. It’s reminiscent of The Wisteria Society…

[Book One of...]
Story: 5 out of 5 Smut: 0.5 out of 5
This short and spicy witchy novella is everything I didn’t know I needed!
The characters are fun, the bickering is highly amusing, and the teeny bit of angst makes your heart ache for the female lead.
If you want some fluff, with just a dash of angst, some heated chemistry, spice, and lots of magic… then this book is most definitely for you.
There were times when I was chuckling out loud at some of the scenes in this book. You will not regret reading about this witch and her gargoyle.
Now here are my rambling thoughts...
* Damn. Cast out of the coven by her own Tia? Harsh.
* Gotta love smart familiars.
* I love her friendship with Elizabeth and Andrew. They seem so protective of her.
* Wow. Her tia is a dick. How could she deny her access to the Ball with her friends?!
* I hate Ibis’s cousin Mona. What a bitch.
* Lmao. She wrote her initials into the wing. Ong is it gonna be a tattoo when he’s still human?
* I love how this is so modern- two witches talking about book boyfriends and annotating books lol.
* Oh to be able to bring forward a book boyfriend. The fun I would have with that spell lol.
* Now I wanna know what the gargoyle did with his tail lmao
* Aww. I was hopeful her spell would work right away. She was so excited.
* Ohhhh. “Oliver” is in exile? Just what did he do to become a gargoyle and who turned him into one? If it was the tia, all hell is about to break loose when he’s freed.
* “His little Ibis.” — omg I want a gargoyle lol.
* So the spell worked… and Elizabeth’s book boyfriend came alive..? How?!
* Oh fuck that. They cursed him to steal his strength for the Veil Force?! But now that he’s awake, what happens to the strength they were zapping from him?
* Can I slap Elton? Please!
* And Oliver swoops in for the save!
* Lmao. I can’t get over Andrew calling Oliver “Charlie”.
* Sooty for the win! Knocking out Elton with the watering can again lmao
* Oohhhh. Selma knows now 😬
* I love a possessive gargoyle and his name is Oliver lol
* So Oliver doesn’t want a mate from his birth colony, huh. He’s got Ibis now.
* Oliver arguing with an owl about not eating the butterflies is fucking adorable.
* Damn. He really told her to show him how to pleasure herself while there were still people in the library. Holy shit 🥵
* They banged! I swear to God, if they make him go away… I’m gonna be pissed!
* Tia Isa is a bitch.
* Oh no. Don’t tell me Isa is the one who cursed him 🤦🏻‍♀️
* “My little Ibis, I would rather stay here and be stoned for another century and listen to your voice in darkness than to be sent back to another world where I could never hear you again.” — omg 😭
* Oh no. He wasn’t summoned from another universe, he was summoned from a book so long ago. Poor Oliver.
* Another? Another what? Oliver! Use your words!
* Who the fuck is this new gargoyle?! And he better not hurt the familiars.
* Lol. Andrew named the new gargoyle Charlie 😂
* And poor Oliver is just done with Sooty the owl trying to eat the butterflies 😂😂
* “You’re my magical ever after.”
* Ugh. Tia Isa knows. And she brought along Elton and Mona… and UGH! Sooty needs to water can all three of them.
* Oh. Oh no. My heart hurts.
* HE’s BACK!
* Holy shit… the High Priestess is Ibis’s grandma?! And she had Tia Isa taken away! Yes!

Rating: 3/5 🪶🚲
Don't Hex and Drive by Juliette Cross is book two in her Stay a Spell series. So far, I'm still very much intrigued by the entirety of the series, and I will be starting Witches Get Stitches next month. The dynamic between Devraj and Isadora was cute. However, some moments felt forced and slightly unrealistic? Lol, I know it's a paranormal romance book, but sometimes their chemistry relied on the opposites-attract trope, which resulted in her being gruff/rude to him and him just deflecting it with laughter. Which is fine, but the rudeness is stretched out for a good portion of the beginning of the book. The subplot was interesting, but it made me want more of Ruben and Jules and the context of their ominous history. I'll have to wait until I get to Jules's book.
