"An average witch is born with a few natural gifts. But in each generation there is one woman who embodies countless gifts. Some say all of them. She is the Supreme."
I rewatched AHS: Coven last night and I just realized how Cordelia was describing Diana Bishop and Weavers in the All Souls Trilogy. Witches have their magical gifts but Weavers could do more because they see and interact with the threads of the universe. Diana's DNA showed she had the potential of all the gifts known to witchkind.

From A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness:
Miriam’s tiny, precise handwriting marched down the left side of the page, and the bars, some circled with red pen, marched down the right. “This is the genetic marker for precognition,” Matthew continued, pointing to the first circled smudge. His finger began slowly moving down the page. “This one is for flight. This helps witches find things that are lost.”
Matthew kept reeling off powers and abilities one at a time until my head spun.
“This one is for talking with the dead, this is transmogrification, this is telekinesis, this is spell casting, this one is charms, this one is curses. And you’ve got mind reading, telepathy, and empathy—they’re next to one another.”
“This can’t be right.” I’d never heard of a witch with more than one or two powers. Matthew had already reached a dozen.
“I think the findings are right, Diana. These powers may never manifest, but you’ve inherited the genetic predisposition for them.” He flipped the page. There were more red circles and more careful annotations by Miriam. “Here are the elemental markers. Earth is present in almost all witches, and some have either earth and air or earth and water. You’ve got all three, which we’ve never seen before. And you’ve also got fire. Fire is very, very rare.” Matthew pointed to the four smudges.
“What are elemental markers?” My feet were feeling uncomfortably breezy, and my fingers were tingling.
“Indications that you have the genetic predisposition to control one or more of the elements. They explain why you could raise a witchwind. Based on this, you could command witchfire and what’s called witchwater as well.”
“What does earth do?”
“Herbal magic, the power to affect growing things—the basics. Combined with spell casting, cursing, and charms—or any one of them, really—it means you have not only powerful magical abilities but an innate talent for witchcraft.”
Diana Bishop is the Supreme of ADOW/ALS.

Here are the best Diablo 4 nightmare dungeons, with stats to prove it
Tumblr media
Your endgame grind will go much more smoothly if you can find the best Diablo 4 nightmare dungeons. The extra-hardened versions of Diablo 4's dungeons were always fantastic, but after receiving the most recent update, they have surpassed all other locations in the Blizzard RPG game for grinding XP, levelling up, loot, and upgrading Paragon glyphs simultaneously. Whatever you're aiming to achieve, it's a relief that we finally have definitive stats on the best Diablo 4 nightmare dungeons to run right now. With the release of Diablo 4 patch 1.0.3, nightmare dungeons have become even better than before. Using nightmare sigils to activate them now opens a portal straight there, eliminating any travel time and meaning dungeon effectiveness comes purely down to how fast you can finish them, clearing out as much as possible along the way. Fortunately, one of the top Diablo 4 streamers has spent the last several days diligently running the numbers, so that you don’t have to. Ryan ‘Raxxanterax’ S. has tested every single nightmare dungeon that’s currently available under the most neutral conditions possible. He ran each dungeon on two of the best Diablo 4 builds: a fast-moving, unstoppable, melee Tornado Druid, and a slow, crowd control-susceptible, ranged Bone Spear Necromancer. Then he averaged the results to get a good understanding of what works across all Diablo 4 classes. He made sure that any lucky runs were evened out by always exploring the full area, and killed most of the enemies while moving at his usual farming pace. He avoided doing random events that spawned mid-dungeon, and refused to take advantage of any pylons that spawned, so the numbers could be as consistent as possible. In cases where outliers appeared, he even re-ran those dungeons to ensure nothing had gone amiss. So what are the results? Well, you can see the full chart below. Raxx ranks the nightmare dungeons on two separate categories – XP earned per hour while playing solo, and speed to level glyphs. The latter list comes down purely to how fast the dungeon is to complete, although Raxx maintains that the XP is by far the biggest deciding factor anyway, and I agree. The biggest winners are Blind Burrows, Guulrahn Canals, Sunken Ruins, Aldurwood, Raethwind Wilds. and Maulwood. At 35.8 million XP earned per hour, Blind Burrows is actually more than double the measly 17.1 million XP per hour offered by the lowest-ranked Prison of Caldeum, so this genuinely will make a huge difference to your Diablo 4 leveling speed. Best Diablo 4 nightmare dungeons for XP Here are all the Diablo 4 nightmare dungeons, ranked by XP earned: - Blind Burrows – 35.8 million XP/hour. - Guulrahn Canals – 34.1 million XP/hour. - Sunken Ruins – 32.4 million XP/hour. - Aldurwood – 30.7 million XP/hour. - Raethwind Wilds – 30.4 million XP/hour. - Maulwood – 28.6 million XP/hour. - Champion’s Demise – 28.1 million XP/hour. - Demon’s Wake – 27.4 million XP/hour. - Whispering Pines – 26.8 million XP/hour. - Lost Archives – 26.1 million XP/hour. - Witchwater – 26.1 million XP/hour. - Kor Dragan Barracks – 25.8 million XP/hour. - Ancient’s Lament – 25.7 million XP/hour. - Earthen Wound – 24.8 million XP/hour. - Zenith – 23.8 million XP/hour. - Abandoned Mineworks – 23.6 million XP/hour. - Onyx Hold – 23.5 million XP/hour. - Shadowed Plunge – 23.0 million XP/hour. - Renegade’s Retreat – 22.3 million XP/hour. - Cultist’s Refuge – 21.9 million XP/hour. - Dark Ravine – 21.3 million XP/hour. - Serpent’s Lair – 20.8 million XP/hour. - Black Asylum – 20.7 million XP/hour. - Guulrahn Slums – 20.6 million XP/hour. - Conclave – 20.6 million XP/hour. - Maugan’s Works – 19.8 million XP/hour. - Shivta Ruins – 19.7 million XP/hour. - Feral’s Den – 19.6 million XP/hour. - Crusader’s Cathedral – 18.0 million XP/hour. - Prison of Caldeum – 18.1 million XP/hour. Thanks to Raxxanterax and his community for all the hard work! You’ll also be sure to load up on Diablo 4 Ancestral items as you run these, so it won’t be long before you’re running the most godly build possible and blasting through fools with impunity. Diablo 4 season 1 is set to mix up the nightmare dungeon rotation, however, so be sure to stay on top of things once that happens. WITCHMAS | day eight | favorite character arc or character development

“I don’t use magic or power or witchcraft or whatever you want to call it. It’s not who I am.” Two red patches burned on my cheeks.
“It is who you are. It’s in your blood. It’s in your bones. You were born a witch, just as you were born to have blond hair and blue eyes.”

In Teresa’s latest Instagram Story, she is wet. I think evidence for the filming of the witchwater scene at Sept Tours is at 99% probability!

✨🍓Intro🍓✨
Hello, I am a baby witch from Poland. I moved to the UK when I was 5 and I am currently attending university studying illustration, hoping to have a career in illustration.
I have recently decided to delve into witchcraft. I’ve always have been interested in space, all my tattoos are space themed and I’m an avid fan of sailor moon and other spacey shows. This made me decide to become a cosmic witch.
I’m bisexual, I love art, animals, nature, food, cooking, baking etc. You can catch me crying over terraforming my animal crossing island.
I’d love to make friends with other witches, so feel free to message me.

You know that moment where Diana says ‘I love you’ it just strikes me for a second how shocked Matthew looks. Like, he stops putting on his jacket and lets the facade fall for a bit, and it kind of makes me think he can’t believe that she does. That maybe he thought it would be easy to walk away cause he’s told himself she didn’t fancy or love him and this was all just him annoying some witch like everyone else says he’s been doing. We’ll probably see more of this in(fingers crossed) season 2, but Matthew really does have a really shitty opinion of himself and people being able to love him. Matthew Goode was so clever in portraying that subtle expression of surprise before the mask went back up again. When Matthew left he was probably thinking a combination of, ‘this can’t be real/oh shit I thought this would be easy cause I was just hurting my feelings’.

Before I met Matthew, there didn’t seem to be room in my life for a single additional element—especially not something as significant as a fifteen-hundred-year-old vampire. But he’d slipped into unexplored, empty places when I wasn’t looking.
Now that he’d left, I was terribly aware of his absence. As I sat on the roof of the watchtower, my tears softened my determination to fight for him. Soon there was water everywhere. I was sitting in a puddle of it, and the level just kept rising.
It wasn’t raining, despite the cloudy skies.
The water was coming out of me.
My tears fell normally but swelled as they dropped into globules the size of snowballs that hit the stone roof of the watchtower with a splash. My hair snaked over my shoulders in sheets of water that poured over the curves of my body. I opened my mouth to take a breath because the water streaming down my face was blocking my nose, and water gushed out in a torrent that tasted of the sea.
Through a film of moisture, Marthe and Ysabeau watched me. Marthe’s face was grim. Ysabeau’s lips were moving, but the roar of a thousand sea-shells made it impossible to hear her.
I stood, hoping the water would stop. It didn’t. I tried to tell the two women to let the water carry me away along with my grief and the memory of Matthew—but all that produced was another gush of ocean. I reached out, thinking that would help the water drain from me. Even more water cascaded from my fingertips. The gesture reminded me of my mother’s arm reaching toward my father, and the waves increased.
As the water poured forth, my control slipped further. Domenico’s sudden appearance had frightened me more than I’d been willing to admit. Matthew was gone. And I had vowed to fight for him against enemies I couldn’t identify and didn’t understand. It was now clear that Matthew’s past was not composed simply of homely elements of firelight, wine, and books. Nor had it unfolded solely within the limits of a loyal family. Domenico had alluded to something darker that was full of enmity, danger, and death.
Exhaustion overtook me, and the water pulled me under. A strange sense of exhilaration accompanied the fatigue. I was poised between mortality and something elemental that held within it the promise of a vast, incomprehensible power. If I surrendered to the undertow, there would be no more Diana Bishop. Instead I would become water—nowhere, everywhere, free of my body and the pain.
“I’m sorry, Matthew.” My words were nothing more than a burble as the water began its inexorable work.
Ysabeau stepped toward me, and a sharp crack sounded in my brain. My warning to her was lost in a roar like a tidal wave coming ashore. The winds rose around my feet, whipping the water into a hurricane. I raised my arms to the sky, water and wind shaping themselves into a funnel that encircled my body.
Marthe grabbed Ysabeau’s arm, her mouth moving rapidly. Matthew’s mother tried to pull away, her own mouth shaping the word “no,” but Marthe held on, staring at her fixedly. After a few moments, Ysabeau’s shoulders slumped. She turned toward me and started to sing. Haunting and yearning, her voice penetrated the water and called me back to the world.
The winds began to die down. The de Clermont standard, which had been whipping around, resumed its gentle swaying. The cascade of water from my fingertips slowed to a river, then to a trickle, and stopped entirely. The waves flowing from my hair subsided into swells, and then they, too, disappeared. At last nothing came out of my mouth but a gasp of surprise. The balls of water falling from my eyes were the last vestige of the witchwater to disappear, just as they had been the first sign of its power moving through me. The remains of my deluge sluiced toward small holes at the base of the crenellated walls. Far, far below, water splashed onto the courtyard’s thick bed of gravel.
When the last of the water left me, I felt scooped out like a pumpkin, and freezing cold, too. My knees buckled, banging painfully on the stone.
“Thank God,” Ysabeau murmured. “We almost lost her.”
