have you never had any type of surgery before today? (also hang in there! The worst is to come)

never had any major surgery, closest was getting a baby tooth pulled out but it was already really loose before going to the dentist, idek why my dad took me there, maybe cuz he and my mom were friends with the dentist and my brother and I friends with her son

I'm scared shitless of major surgeries, I only chose local anesthesia cuz general anesthesia scares the shit out of me even more

for now it feels like just a bit more painful than when I got braces but more comfortable since it's just the back on the left side of my mouth that hurts

Disclaimer: At first, I wanted to post this in one measly Discord server I was in. But... Then I thought "You know what? How about I post where everyone can see it?" So, here we are.

Now, I watched a Shylily clip today. This one in particular. Might be a bit unusual, but come on now. She's adorable, lol.

Anyways, she was selling merch. She gave the chat two options, and someone asked her "Why not pick the option that gives you more money?" like they assumed she was going for profits. She then reveals that, no, she's actually selling merch so people have something physical to remember her by when she eventually retires.

So... That, and scrolling through the comments section helped me realize something.

Everything has an expiration date, ourselves included. Even if we follow a religion or not, it's our jobs to make our lives worthwhile while it's still there, even if it means working hard to keep a roof over our heads, and to put food on the table. There's a long list of fun things we want to do too, like video games, music, art, roleplaying, the list goes on.

Those things aren't gonna be there for us someday. Someday, we're gonna be too occupied for the fun stuff, or lose interest in them, or be too physically or mentally damaged to be able to do shit with them.

It becomes important to keep records of them so that you can look back on them. If you draw things on paper, that's one thing. Buying merch is another. Having a copy of a game sitting there in your household is also viable if you want to play it again.

They're souvenirs, basically. And it's a good idea to keep them when you get the chance to. It's like gathering things for a museum, one that tells (In Black Veil Brides' words) the story of your life.
