Winx Club Hot Take 6!

What ever happened to these girls?! With how well they're designed compared to other background characters, you'd think they would be somewhat crucial to the story. Meet Alice (the curly red-head in blue & pink), Emma (the red pigtail girl in red pants), Trista (orange dress & purple braided hair), Vicky ( short purple hair in blue), Marzia (a girl with blue hair, yellow head scarf, & red shirt) and Clarice (the one in the middle with the most detail & blonde pigtails). I've seen Clarice, Marzia and Trista make appearances in Season 3 while Emma may have appeared in the film, The Secret of the Lost Kingdom so I assume they were freshman at the time. By the beginning of Season 4, I would assume they're now sophomores with Alice and Vicky being freshman. Season 4, Episode 1 was the ONLY time these girls stepped into the spotlight beyond being background characters....well, mainly just Alice and Clarice. This episode had established that The Winx are now assisted teachers at Alfea having graduated so that means they can't live in their iconic student dormitory anymore.

The Winx find that out when they are met with the background girls I mentioned prior now residing in their old dorm rooms. The Winx were a bit upset by this, but the new residents (especially Alice) were thrilled at the idea of staying in a dorm previously home to the Alfea graduates who earned their Enchantix and defeated previous villains during their school years. Clarice however, isn't impressed. Throughout the first half of the episode, Clarice was more annoyed with The Winx if anything thinking that "because they're Enchantix fairies they think they're all that" since all of Alfea idolizes them. She was so bothered by them that she sabotages The Winx's exercise course as a way to humiliate them, but it unfortunately results in putting Flora in the infirmary. Even worse, Alice was accused of causing this and is going to be sent away. When The Wizards of the Black Circle arrive to attack Bloom, Alice rushes in to get help and participates in the battle. By the end of the episode, Clarice admits she sabotaged the course and apologizes so she and Alice can stay at Alfea.

That's all they contributed to the series. After that, they go back to background characters. They don't even stay in The Winx's dorm for very long because Season 5 decided to write our main fairies back into students again! These girls were such a missed opportunity! Roxy becomes a new student at Alfea so why couldn't she move in with them?! Bloom, Flora, Stella, Aisha, Techna, and Musa are Alfea graduates who now run a magic pet store on Earth while also being Guardian Fairies. They're done with school so I feel like the series would've made for an interesting new arc of Roxy, Alice, Clarice, Emma, Vicky, Trista, and Marzia becoming the next generation of The Winx Club instead of having our existing main six being 16 over and over again from Seasons 5 through 8. It would've been nice to see episodes of Roxy learning how to be a fairy in a magic school similar to Bloom's arc in Season 1. We got a glimpse of seeing who Alice and Clarice are but we never got to see the personalities of the other girls. I feel like maybe the comic issues did this a bit better, but it still would've been fun to see it onscreen.

“Coffee! Coffee!” Said the dragon whisperer, Enya. Stella Junior exhaled tiredly. Since she and Enya are going to stays at planet Earth for a long time, they has been going out shopping for themselves and getting to know this city. Especially now that Stella Junior, with help from Bloom, open up a bank account at The Bank in Townsville, transferring her money from Magix to Earth and converting Magix’s monetary system to American Dollars, and getting her first ever Earth credit card. Stella Junior had manage to magically shrunk their shopping bags to pocket-sized, keeping their new clothes in her skirt pocket to prevent her arms getting sore. But she is definitely now exhausted.

“I never try Earth’s coffee before. But I preferred the one at Molly Moo back at Pixie Village,” said Amaya, Pixie of Rainbow and Stella Junior’s pixie companion. Tori, Enya’s pixie companion, slightly nod. Tori and Amaya came for a visit because they miss them. Three people agreed that they want to go inside. Sapphire Diamond, Enya’s chihuahua fairy pet barks, joining in on wanting to go inside. Oh great now it’s 4 against 1. Is Sapphire Diamond even allowed to go inside? She is consider an animal, despite once was a discarded toy. Plus, there could be a policy stating no dogs are allow.

“I don’t thinks Sapphire Diamond is allowed to enter the coffee shop, Enya,” said Stella Junior. “Plus, we.. No, don’t give me the puppy eyes,”

Stella Junior seeing Enya’s eyes widened and have a pleading expression on her face.

“You are not ten years old, you are fourteen.”

Enya put her hands together.

“Please Stella Junior?”

She need to say no. Marianne and her godmother, Bloom can say it easily.

“No, Enya,” said Stella Junior. “I have to pay for you all. I already spent my allowance on our shopping spree. Bloom lectured me about spending our money wisely.”

“Aww, you are no fun. Where is the old Stella Junior?”

That sentence hits Stella Junior hard. It takes her a few seconds for the moonlight fairy, Stella Junior to be defeats. She decides to enter Chillaxation for a coffee break. Enya, Amaya, Tori, and Sapphire Diamond are in a jolly mood. As the five enter inside the coffee shop. Stella Junior picked up the scent of roasted coffee in the air with the hint of hazelnuts, caramel, vanilla, lavender flavour syrup, and chocolate. From the sound of soft jazz music to the biodegradable and solar powered charged lanterns, hanging up on the ceiling, brighten up the place, it is actually quite relaxing. It is no wonders why the Townsville Kids stop by to get snacks and drinks there. There are even a books, stacked in the bookcase at the back of the coffee store. Twinkly would definitely love to read them all. If she joins them. The five join in the line to the counter. Stella Junior notices dog treats and cat treats on the menu. Ok, that is perfect. This place allow dogs and cats to enter. Stella Junior looks at her friends. “Okay, please tell me what do you want? Except for you, Sapphire Diamond, I will decide which dog treats is suitable for you.”

“Bark!” Sapphire Diamond barked. Enya, Amaya, and Tori look up at the menu and the donuts on display.

“Milky coffee and a coconut eclair!” Enya said with a smile.

“I definitely wants their finest rainbow smoothie,” said Amaya.

“An iced coffee please,” said Tori.

Stella Junior nodding at all of their answers. A curly red haired girl with teal/navy blue gradient eyes covered by her teardrop shaped glasses. She is standing by the counter and stares at Stella Junior and her friends. She is wearing a white shirt with a blue collar and blue sleeves. The name tag, Holly Test is on her shirt. Holly is shunned because she see two pixies, she has never seen them in her lifetime. She wonders if they are from Townsville’s supernatural community. And if not, then they must be new here. Holly cleared her throat, and bring back her bright composure after settling in on her new encounter. This is not the time to be looking, she needs to make some sales.

"Hello and welcome to Chillaxation, what can I get for you?" She greeted them with a smile on her face.

“Can I have… A small milky coffee and coconut eclair for Enya, three peanut butter dog donut treats with carob icing for the dog, Sapphire Diamond, one rainbow smoothie for the pixie, Amaya, and an iced coffee for the other pixie, Tori.” Stella Junior ordered. “Make sure Enya, Tori, and Amaya are written on their respective cup. All of the cups have to be small too.”

“One small cup of milky coffee, one coconut eclair, three peanut butter dog donuts with carob icing, one small iced coffee, and a small cup of rainbow smoothie. Anything else?” Holly asked.

“I want both an iced coffee and a rainbow smoothie!” Said Amaya. Stella Junior shushed Amaya, the customers hearing Amaya’s outburst. Stella Junior’s cool composure fractures a bit. Holly Test stares at Stella Junior, then goes back to typing on the keyboard on the POS Terminal, editing the order. “So two small iced coffees then?” Holly asked, ensuring the order is correct. Stella Junior nodded. “Did you want anything for yourself?” Holly asked. Stella Junior shook her head.

Holly nods. "That will be $35.86.”. While Stella Junior takes out her VISA card from her wallet, to tap it into the scanner, Holly turns her head and calls someone to get his order.

A girl with slushy dual colored short hair, black and red and blue eyes is holding a tray of someone else's order. She is wearing the same uniform as Holly except the name tag said, "Mirage Fagry" on her blouse.

“Miss Fagry, this we need two small cups of iced coffee and a small cup of rainbow smoothie for our new… fairy, I MEANS pixie customers, and a small cup of milky coffee for the child named Enya.” Holly instructed, while processing everything she saw. “I will have Mx. Creecher get the dog treats and donut.”

Mirage nod in ennui. Mirage got two cups from the stacks of blank labeled cups and poured refrigerated coffee into Amaya’s cup and Tori’s cup. Then Mirage goes to the ice dispenser machine to dispense some ice to the iced coffees. Mirage stirred the ices in the coffee with a spoon, and then sealed the lid in each cup. Mirage then gets another cup from the stacks of blank labeled cups, but only this time a small size. She dispenses hot coffee into the cup and added hot milk from the milk dispenser. Finally Mirage filed the blank label on each cup with a black sharpie marker, marked their order. Mirage put their orders on the tray. “The rainbow smoothie will be coming soon,” Said Mirage to Stella Junior. She did not care about the presence of the pixies that much than Holly. “So please wait at one of our available tables.”

Stella Junior nod.

“Let’s go sit down,” said Stella Junior. Both pixies, fairies, and fairy pet goes take a seat at the free table to wait for their order. Enya frowned, wondering why they have to wait. It would be so much better if there is magic in this place. Stella Junior pulls out her cellphone to goes through Hologram, one of Earth’s social media network platforms. Mirage goes to the backroom to make the rainbow smoothie. Meanwhile, Beppi, another employee of Chillaxation with multicoloured hair, applied gloves to get one coconut eclair from the stand, and place it into a paper bag. Then get the dog treats in a separate paper bag as well. They put the bags of ordered treats on the tray. Twenty minutes later, Mirage came back with the small rainbow smoothie. As Mirage placed the rainbow smoothie on the tray, she called out their names.

“An order of milky coffee for Enya! An iced coffee for Tori! An iced coffee and rainbow smoothie for Amaya! With dog treats and a donut!”

Stella Junior stopped what she is doing on her phone. She turns off her cellphone, and put her phone away by putting it in her skirt pocket to leave her table. Mirage served Stella Junior the purchased goods.

“Thanks you,” said Stella Junior.

"You are welcome. Enjoy." Mirage replied. Stella Junior take their orders before heading back to sitting with her friends. Enya drank her milky coffee and eating her coconut eclair, while Tori drank her iced coffee, and Amaya drank her rainbow smoothie. “Wow! This is the best smoothie I ever tasted!” Amaya complimented. Stella Junior watched them eat and drink, while opening up the paper bag and giving Sapphire Diamond her peanut butter dog donut treat with carob icing. Stella Junior’s cellphone vibrates. Stella Junior pulls out her cellphone to see an emojix sent by Bloom, Enya’s mother and her godmother, expressing a mini Bloom tapping her foot and looking at the time from her wristwatch she is wearing. Stella Junior frowns, realizing that they took so long to go back to Bloom and Enya’s house. Stella Junior send an emojix of Enya drinking coffee, then send a text message that they will be back soon to ease Bloom’s mind. Stella Junior release another sigh. She wish she can say no, otherwise Bloom won’t have to worry. Then again, she should just tell Bloom that they will be running late and where they are now. Also, seeing them being happy go lucky, it’s probably worth it.

Bloom's daughter ✰ Musa's Daughters ✰ Stella's Daughter

Musa and Riven's oldest daughter in my Bloodlines AU, Harmony, fairy of Frost. Yet another glow-up from my last attempt at drawing her xD

More about Harmony:

Her full name is Harmony Lyra Carmichael-Diao and, if you couldn't tell, she is her father's daughter. Although both Musa and Riven's girls are the spitting image of their mother, Harmony is the same troubled youth as her dad. She can be brash and cold to those that don't know her...and honestly even if you do know her she tends to be those things.

Growing up alone for most of her childhood has made her put up a facade of not needing anybody, when deep down all she really wants is companionship and family. Growing up abandoned (or so she thinks) by her family has made her too terrified of abandonment to ever be vulnerable enough with anyone to get the companionship she so desires. It takes a thick skin and a stubborn heart to get through her icy exterior.

She’s strong and defiant, with a serious dislike for authority. For Harmony, respect is earned, not given freely, and not many people have earned it from her. When people become too tiresome Harmony turns to music as her one solace. She likes loud, angry music and she enjoys going to concerts and clubs to enjoy it. Beneath her icy exterior lies a girl who just wants to be loved for who she is, warts and all, and she’s incredibly protective and loving to those who show her they care.

So the reboot trailer…

First off, I was so excited to see this, and secondly, the wizards were not in it. I’m becoming more and more convinced that they have been scrapped and I will have to have a long, disappointed cry. But onto happier, more cgi things! *activates nostalgic Winx music to write to*

Bloom on a bike, as happy as can be, wherever you are going, Bloom, please wait for me! (Personal reference, if anyone gets that, I will probably have a little squeak of joy.) I honestly like that she’s still got her bike, just like the original. Her top is cute, too, more OG Bloom than Nick Bloom, which I like.

Flora and Stella are fighting this guy, and already, I’m sad. He’s fine, I guess, but…he doesn’t have half the personality of Knut. Knut had overalls, and glasses, and a bunch of ghoulies, and this just feels very generic.

Bloom takes him out, but it doesn’t seem to have a dragon, just fire, and she’s just standing there, frozen, like Ogron whenever anything remotely dangerous happens. It lacks the drama of the OG, where she gets grabbed and unleashes a while dragon made of fire, which was badass and hit really hard.

Flora’s here. Which, I love her, but this is Bloom and Stella’s special time. Also, they were looking for Bloom. Looking for her. This is meant to be an accident. (Or meet cute, if you happen to ship.) The wings look weird, honestly, like they’re made of plastic on dolls, and Stella looks odd. Flora looks pretty, as always, I like the outfit, but do I love it as much as her original fairy form? No, not sure I do.

Just, let’s take a moment to note this other presumable base level fairy, shall we? She looks way more like the original, but the fact that she, also presumably a student at Alfea, looks so basic next to the Winx, gives me the feeling that the Winx are just going to be special and powerful for no real reason. Which…I don’t love, in the OG they were just normal people that wound up fighting evil, they’re not the chosen ones. (Except in my Halloween fanfic I’m writing where they unknowingly are, but that’s beside the point.) But this is a nice fairy form, and frankly, I’d love the Winx’s to look more like this, their forms are more detailed than Enchantix already.

I do like these outfits, they’re nice, and probably more appropriate for high school students than their adventure outfits from season one. I actually do like that they have their hair up, that’s a thing for me, because trust me, if I’m adventuring, first thing I’m doing is putting my hair back. It gets in my face when I’m eating breakfast, long, loose hair is a hazard in adventuring. Also, love Tecna’s little pose here. That’s cute. And also one of only two appearances for her in the trailer. She and Musa are tied for least relevant.

No. Just no. I’m sorry, I just…I hate this. I’m trying not to be negative, but this is just wrong. This is not Faragonda. Faragonda wears blue. And looks different. This just jars for me, but it’s not a bad design, I guess, so think what you like.

I just took this screenshot because the video paused on it and I thought it was funny. Looks like Bloom going back to Earth, and also, like high school, so maybe we’ll see more of her human life, which, I guess is cool? I don’t think I ever felt much pull for that. I want to see her at Alfea. But she looks so cute and dramatic, jumping out of a hole in the air! And I do like her outfit. It’s actually cute, and she has her flares again, and the pink isn’t excessive.

Stella has a sceptre! It’s not as kickass as her original, but she’s got one! Which I love, because I miss the old one. It vanished, then cameoed one last time to get eaten by Shiny. She’s still sticking with that outfit too, I see. Hooray…it’s not as bad as I keep looking at it, I guess, when you cut out the skirt, but still. And I kinda miss her fringe here. Also, her spell name is ‘Burning Sun’. I…I feel like it could have been more creative. Even ‘Rising Sun’ sounds better. Or ‘Solar Blaze’. I just like them better. Or bring back ‘Solar Wind’.

YES! YES, THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! Beautiful, beautiful women! And it looks like they’re not triplets in the reboot, because the skin tone redesigns I’ve seen so many people use are actually canon now, which honestly, I love. They look beautiful. If Riven x Darcy is a thing in this reboot, then lucky, lucky Riven. I like that the outfits aren’t too different from their originals, just redesigned a bit. It’s perfect, and I wish the Winx had stayed truer to their OG fairy forms. I think, for the first time, I get why people have posts saying that the Trix were their bisexual awakening, I get that with this picture.

Sorry for the dreadful quality, Sky just wasn’t feeling photogenic. We still have our guys! Tiny Riven up there if anyone can see…their ship is still the iconic red, and they now have hoverboards! Gotta be honest, I sort of miss the original uniforms. They were so impractical, but they were iconic and these look…well, cool, and I like that they’re sci-fi, but I miss the capes, I’m sorry. Even after watching Duman pick up and grab them by the capes, I miss them. (Also, it’s agreed now that if the wizards don’t show up, any background character or creature with pink hair is just Duman in disguise. This is canon now, who’s with me?)

We’re keeping, ��Just Winx!’ Which I like, it’s a really cute scene. I like Bloom having a notebook, it’s cute, she feels like she should have one. I like characters that have a notebook or journal for all their thoughts and doodles.

Speaking of the notebook, it’s so cute! But I’m so scared this is all the Kiko we’re getting, and if it is, I mourn him even more than the wizards! He was so cute, and if Bloom doesn’t have a tiny, implausible bunny sidekick, I will be sad. Also, does Bloom have a smartwatch? Is that a good idea? What if the Trix can track her through it? I guess Tecna could prevent that. The details on her jeans are cute, I like them. And there’s that iconic hand pose! I don’t know what it’s for or why it exists, but I love it!

And that’s all from me for today on the reboot! So far, no wizards spotted, but I’ll survive somehow. We’ll see how they handle the Trix, only then will we know whether we can trust the reboot to handle the wizards. If the Trix get backstories and personality, then I will campaign for the wizards to be there. If not, if they’re cardboard soup, then I will protect the wizards from the madness as much as possible.

The Grand Mages, my version of The Major Fairies in my Winx rewrite.

The reason for the term Mages instead of Major Fairies is that they weren’t all Fairies throughout history and it isn’t a requirement that they be fairies either. The reason for them all being fairies now is that they’re simply the most common group of magic users left on Earth currently after the great scourge of death and purging magical beings experienced on the planet.

The Grand Mages are chosen by The Grand Council, the delegation for magical beings on Earth, which is now on Tír na nÓg presently.

The current Grand Mages are as follows, some with a lot of info (mainly Sybilla) and some with simple brief descriptions, including so e job descriptions, personal histories, believix info and general lore below the cut:)

Nebula, Grand Mage of Peace. Her title is kept all throughout her history, not changed like it is in the series to war, for peace comes as the end goal, and to that with the Grand Mage title, if war is needed to achieve that, then so be it.

She is the second youngest, older than Aurora by about 900 years, born around the year of what we would call 400 CE. She is around the same age as Morgana, only a few years younger.

She would be classified as one of the Picts in the eyes of humans, born in what would later become known as the area of Scotland at the time before the Celts. As I mentioned in my first ask with her, I know there are issues of debated anachronism regarding The Picts and blue war paint, but it fit her color palette and I thought it looked cool on her so we’re going to say it was indeed a thing in this version of history, but as a result of the magical beings there mainly being the ones who utilized it.

As also mentioned in my original ask with her, she doesn’t always use her magic to treat her wounds, taking certain pride in her battle scars, showing them as a way to say “you see? No matter how many times you try to beat me down, I cannot be quashed. You cannot best me, I will always retaliate and I will always come back and so long as I am alive, I will win.”

Aurora is The Grand Mage of The North, a title given to the being who guards the Lovix transformation. She is the youngest of the current Grand Mages, being only 700 years old. It is her job to preside over the domain that Lovix is connected to (the areas of what are labeled as Fennoscandia) for if the connection to the areas the transformations were birthed from is severed or lost, those transformations cannot be accessed anymore. Her dedication, quick wit, and drive to protect and honor the land her master, The Grand Mage of The North before her guarded, is what lead to her being selected as the next one despite her relatively young age when compared to the other magical beings who served under the previous Grand Mage. This retired Grand Mage now lives at the small community that is located in what we would call Northern Sweden in the wilderness that she and the other followers dedicated to this cause call their home. This area acts as their headquarters of sorts.

Aurora is in change of overseeing all areas of Earth’s Northern Hemisphere and doing what she can to ensure general harmony with the energy of the planet and its environment, with her main focus being on guarding that area Lovix is tied to. Her primary way of combatting any serious issues humans intact on the environment and any disruption they cause is through the use of environmental influence, such as extreme cold, blizzards, long winters, early frosts, etc, causing things like famine, poor harvests, or direct death from the elements.

Diana is The Grand Mage of The South, her main location insulated to where she was born in what is referred to as modern day Bolivia. Sophix is connected to what is known today as The Amazon Rainforest, and this area must be protected with regard to the transformation for the same reason as Lovix. Much like Aurora, she is also in charge of doing what she can to ensure general harmony with the nature and environment of the southern hemisphere of Earth’s planet.

A strong warrior and combatant, she has resorted to more direct force as a tactic to deal with the issues humans have been enacting on the planet, doing what she can to still stay as hidden from them as possible while attacking, or leaving no survivors. Her and Nebula are close, a love of sparring and battle strategy being a large basis for what they choose to do in any of the spare time they manage to have together.

She is the second oldest of The Grand Mages.

Sybilla is the oldest of The Grand Mages.

Her wings are present here, but she doesn’t usually have them out, simply not seeing a need to most of the time.

Lady of Justice is the title given by those of the order of Tír na nÓg, and this was the title given to her by many, magical and non magical, even before all magical beings were either sequestered away to there, killed, fled, or managed to blend in with the non magical beings.

She is much more elusive than the other Grand Mages and despite her very present record in that of history, she isn’t one to be easily reached, only deciding herself if it is worth it, answering to no single allegiance, creed, nation, etc. She is included in the category of The Grand Mages mainly by the choosing of the other Mages, and only agrees within her own terms to be accounted for as such.

Parts of magical history intermingle with non magical history in my thing. Her influence is felt in artwork, dress, customs, and tales from Greco-Roman antiquity, and even the time before that, during the eras of The Bronze Age with the Cycladic, Minoan, and Mycenaean civilizations, and then even before that.

Much like the term irl, Sybilla is a term that simply means prophetess and sprung forth to give to the term sybil, those being what they are in our real world tales too. In my thing tho, this term stems from her name first and went on to become synonymous and defined as prophetess.

There were other sybils just like in old stories, these being followers of hers who wanted to act in her stead and honor and provide their services too.

Sybilla is the supreme head though, and is the grand origin for this.

She goes into stasis for longer periods of time so despite being the oldest, turning to stone by choice, this time acting a long sleep for her. When she awakes, it feels like she has only blinked. Sometimes towns would be built around her stony form, alters erected around her, offerings brought, pilgrimages made. And then suddenly, the mortals will see her “statue” is suddenly gone, and when she chooses to rest again, the cycle begins anew. Sometimes new statues are erected where she used to rest, legends telling that it actually is her and not just a statue, others believing it was just a statue put there long ago and someone decided to steal it so a new one must be placed.

There are many of her form in many places for that reason among other, her acting as a type of saint or figure to be kept to watch over places or people or whatever is deemed to need watching, memorabilia of her present in the forms of previously memorials statues, small talisman type objects, her figure on handkerchiefs, tapestries, walls of buildings, etc.

She has a history of intermingling with non magical beings far more than any of the other Grand Mages, even more so than most magical beings in general. With regard to that and her actions, she chooses to sleep when she feels she has done her job for the time being, overseeing and acting as whatever the mortals feel she is during times of great strife, whether that label be as a guide, an oracle, a prophet, or sometimes even a god or goddess.

She also chooses to rest after helping with grand issues with magical affairs too just the same. She awakens when she chooses to, whether that be because something in the ambient energy of the Earth feels off, signaling a great change, she has been sought out by a being, magical or not, that has made a great plea that she deems worthy, or she has decided she simply doesn’t want to rest anymore.

Her form appears through much of human history in the areas of the modern day Mediterranean and she has many stories about her weaved through old long gone told tales and legends, many lost to time, some still present.

Her aging is less visible than on Diana as a result of her sporadic periods of stasis, who has stayed active and present for her whole life, which has resulted in peak milf status.

She has no eyes, having had them voluntarily removed to be fully dedicated to her cause of what she deems proper judgement and action.

I'm back with more winx redesigns that have already become my ocs

Below we will have the new designs and a little information about each of them.

Firstly we will start with my little pumpkin Mirta! Mirta in my au is a dark fairy, the fairy of illusions. She is almost in a relationship with the swamp witch Lucy, but Mirta doesn't notice the way Lucy acts around her.

Her groupmates are Ahisa the Passion Fairy, Alice the Snow Fairy, Jenny the Mirror Fairy and Lee-Hona the Singing Fairy.

Mirta is pansexual and this is her short summary

What does she hide under her hats?

Swamp Witch, Lucy! Lucy comes from a long line of potion-making witches and fairies, all starting with her great-great-grandmother Cuca, who is a well teacher in Cloud Tower. Lucy is in love with Mirta, but who said the little clown realized her good intentions?

Lucy's team is Beast Witch Erica and Deep Sea Witch Darya.

Lucy is a trans and lesbian girl.

Those next to Ludy are Erica and Darya, respectively.

Feel the love in the air with Ahisa! Ahisa is a little fairy from Limphea, her power is to make people fall in love/have good feelings because of her plant pheromones, which is why she is the fairy of passion.

Their group is Mirta the dark fairy of illusions, Alice the snow fairy, Jenny the Mirror Fairy and Lee-Hona the Singing Fairy.

Ahisa is often seen by Alphea helping young fairies and dark fairies find love.

Even though she is the passion fairy, Ahisa is aroace.

It's time to be gracious with Galathea, the fairy of grace! Galathea is part of a large business family in the capital region of Melody, the Ming family, her family is popular for having several famous singers and exceptional composers. Galathea loves her family, but doesn't really like being the center of attention.

His group are Miky the fairy of rocks, Francine the fairy of rivers, Ortencia the fairy of mind and Kimmy the dark fairy of thunder.

Galathea is pansexual, at the moment she is not in love with anyone… Except for a fairy who is becoming popular for having recently saved Alphea from the witches, one who has powers related to music.

The dark night fairy, Chimera! Chimera is the youngest of the royal family of Solaria, sister of Stella and Kyral, her power is eclipse fairy.

Chimera, for reasons of preference, went to Beta Academia, away from her sisters and the influence of her parents. She doesn't have a group yet, but she's trying her best to make friends.

She still doesn't know her sexuality, but that's not a concern for her.

The fairy who knows all things because of animals, Roxy! Roxy is the animal fairy, being the first of a new generation of fairies on planet Earth.

It's not very easy for her to make friends, but the Winx are helping her to make friends with her group.

Her group is Kyral, the fairy of falling stars, Clarice, the dark fairy of explosions, Loni, the fairy of electricity, and Cindy, the earthly fairy of frost.

It's quite common to see Roxy away from everyone and talking to the fairy animals, missing her Artu.

Roxy is asexual.

Blaire

21. Daughter of Bloom and Sky. An Alfea graduate, Enchantix fairy, Guardian Fairy of Eraklyon and Heir of Eraklyon's throne. Basically a burnt out overachiever and perfectionist who shouldered everyone's high expectations due to being Bloom's daughter, and had high hopes for the future but is now barely trying to hold things together. She can be a little intimidating and hotheaded, but that's because she's very tired.

She's cordial exes with Luke, Stella and Brandon's son, but they still remained best friends. She's currently dating a wizard named Ike.

Lucian (Luke)

21. Son of Stella and Brandon. Crowned Prince of Solaria who has recently taken on more responsibilities as the de facto new King of Solaria now that he recently came of age—but...he doesn't really want to be called a King quite yet. He's a charming and responsible young man who's inherited his mother's love and passion for fashion, and is a little snobby about it sometimes, much to his friends' chagrin.

He's cordial exes with Blaire, Bloom and Sky's daughter, but they still remained best friends. He's currently single, but there isn't a day where he isn't talking to or seeing someone.

Violet (Vi)

21. Daughter of Flora and Helia. Guardian Fairy of Linphea and a reputable freelance photographer who's a bit too chill for her own good. She can be nonchalant and a bit too cool headed at times it freaks people out, but it's quite handy for her job and hobby as a photographer, requiring precise focus to capture the best photos. She's also a deeply sentimental person, capturing and treasuring all memories of her family and friends through photography.

Maxine (Max)

21 years old, daughter of Musa and Riven. Formerly an Alfea student and a fairy-in-training, but have shifted to Red Fountain to pursue being a Specialist. She turned out to be a skilled prodigy, and now teaches at Red Fountain part time. She's a chill and easygoing person, and is well liked by everyone in the school, even capturing some people's hearts. Despite this, she can also have an explosive temperament if certain buttons are pushed.

On a long term relationship with her former roommate Tesla, Tecna and Timmy's daughter. They go way back, since Alfea.

Riley

20 years old, son of Musa and Riven. He's a quiet and chill guy who's had a bit of a troubled past. He went to Red Fountain alongside his sister but he mostly did it to appease Riven, and has no interest in being a hero, instead preferring to pursue his interest in music. He looks a little scary to some people, and he used to have a notorious reputation, but he's passed that now.

Tesla

21. Daughter of Tecna and Timmy. A gifted tech genius who dropped out of Alfea to defy expectations and pursue her passions, and now works as a reputable robotics engineer in Zenith's government. A reliable and approachable young man who gets along with everyone, and is actually in talking terms with everyone in the friend group despite the incident. He's also a very physically active person, and despite being a formidable wizard, he still chose to take some combat classes in Red Fountain. Behind his easygoing demeanor is a cunning and strategic mind that should not be underestimated.

The Tragedy of the Trix; Rehabilitation vs Punishment

Saw this post on reddit asking if the Trix are tragic characters and at first I almost said no. And then I thought about it a bit. On the outside they seem to handle things very well and they seem to be delighted and content with being evil for the lols but honestly, that happiness is probably super hollow and fake. And they might not even realize it. It has the same energy as someone super wealthy who has a lot of nice things but very little love. Anyways I decided to share my response on tumblr.

I've got several points here that I might elaborate on later if I get some time because I feel like there are a lot of topics here that the fandom doesn't talk about a lot; like Light Rock and the treatment of witches overall.

Honestly yeah I kind of do think that they are tragic characters. It is mostly self-inflicted and we don't really know what happened to them (unless we're counting Icy's last minute backstory) to make them the way that they are. So I can absolutely see them having grown up in rough environments.

The thing that I think makes it a real tragedy as that no one really ever tired to help them. Griffin actively encouraged their mischief and bad behavior until it became a little too evil. In the 4kids dub they didn't even get expelled for the deed itself but because they got caught. And Griffin took little to no responsibility for her hand in all of this; she's the adult, they were still probably teens when they started at Cloud Tower. So in some sense she did have a duty to guide them (and every other student). She praised them for the things that they would eventually be imprisoned for. Which is the next issue; they just kept getting imprisoned and punished with no real attempt at rehabilitation.

I would not call Light Rock rehabilitation. Based on the 4kids dub it had cult vibes more than anything else; not even the guards were allowed to leave and one of them said he felt like a prisoner rather than a guest. The whole scene opened with a debate over the morality of trying to force people to be happy. Light Rock was less about rehabilitation and more about brainwashing. So the Trix never really did get a shot at true rehabilitation and help. It was all punishment. I feel like Light Rock overall was a waste of potential; there were some implications there that really could have made for a cool plot point.

But yeah I feel like not only were the Trix neglected and heavily misguided but they were actively pushed in the wrong direction. The witches in general (not just the Trix) have such a stigma about them that even when they're doing good or minding their own business, they get accused of being evil. And so no one should be surprised when they just embrace the image.

I also feel as though some of the punishments were disproportionate to downright cruel. Like them getting sucked into a void in season 7. Heck, even Light Rock was cruel; it's brainwashing, an attempt at manipulation, and psychological abuse. It's usually passed as a joke but honestly, they have experienced the horrors. Of course they're going to come out more resentful. The comics are almost worse for this. Again it's usually the result of their own schemes but their suffering in the comics is literally played for laughs.

I think that that's why I liked season 8 upon rewatching it; more compassion was given to the Trix. Bloom told Icy that she saw good in her. And, what do you know, Icy was receptive to it. Instead of taking the power for herself, she helped the Winx save the magical dimension. I really would like a follow up on that story line. It was nice to see them humanized a bit more.

Tl;dr: Yeah the Trix brought a lot of their troubles onto themselves but they were actively being praised for doing evil until they did something too evil. And there was no genuine attempt to help them.

I also watched the Mermaid Magic, the new series from the guy who produced winx club, because I was curious…

And man this show rocks. It’s funny, emotional and has a beautiful message about not polluting the ocean and the environment in general. It shows that Rainbow and Iginio Straffi still got it if Nickelodeon doesn’t ruin their plans.

First to the characters: Merlinda is such a lovely protagonist, how she deals with the loss of her mother, trying to save her father and her kingdom, working together with her friends is just wonderful. She’s a dutiful, driven by loss and love Crownprincess, who be a great Queen one day. She has some great character moments, better than Bloom. My favorite scene is definitely when the whale mother is drowning and Merlinda reminds of the loss of her own mother. This moment and scene montage is for so many reasons one of the best moments in the entire series.

First I thought I wouldn’t like Nerissa and Sasha, especially Sasha because I thought she would annoy me. But she and Nerissa were actually kinda fun to watch. Sasha is so funny and also very nice and smart, how she uses her social media skills to fight the Kraken. Nerissa is the complete opposite, she’s serious and feisty but also selfless. I think she has a softer side to her or she’s just a baddie. So were Tyler and Celia. And we also have a Diaspro in this show lol. Also can we agree that Alex is the hottest guy in the show, Tyler is cute but Alex is Romantasy Material. Seriously he looks like a combination between Xaden and Rhysand. He reminds me a lot of these two. Orca is also a really cool mentor. I really enjoy his teacher-student relationship with Merlinda. He is a really lovable character. His ultimate test for Merlinda was phenomenal, testing her empathy, powers and strength at the same time. Also that he is her uncle really took me by surprise, I wouldn’t have seen this coming.

Second the villains: they were creepy as fuck and I love them. They have really good designs and motivations. Even if it’s revenge, revenge can be some sinister motivation.

Third the world: I love the whole design of Mertropia it’s like a Venice for Mermaids. I just wish we would explore more seas, there’s so much to learn about the oceans of our planet. But maybe in next seasons. I would love to see the girls interact with different species of the ocean, there is so much potential. And I would love to see more of the complex ecosystem of the ocean, the task every single ocean creature has in their ecosystem and they should introduce sharks as harmless and these are also just animals who want to life their life.

Also this show would be perfect for the Sirenix song from Winx Club. It would perfectly fit the ocean theme and how the merfolk is bound to it.

I don't get people who say the Winx reboot animation looks good. The movements are so stiff. The faces are so unexpressive. The wings look like they're made of plastic.

I will say though, i do like Bloom's new outfit (tho the shirt looks a little weird)

Story-wise, it seems that Stella and Flora (and potentially others as well) went to Earth in search of Bloom specifically, which i think would've made sense if they'd gone with the wizards as antagonists, cuz they thought that Bloom was the last Earth fairy. But they're bringing back Trix, and then it appears that they went searching for Bloom cuz ✨she's so special✨ which i don't like.

Also, they show the specialists for like 1 second, but then again, they showed Trix in this one, so they're probably saving the specialists for the next trailer.

All in all, the animation and the art style are... Fine... My main complaint is that it doesn't look unique. It looks like your generic fantasy, which was what Magic Bloom initially was, before they made it more futuristic to make it stand out. And it did! It still does! And the reboot? So far, aside from the specialists (and Tecna, obviously) there appears to be no sign of that futurism. Which is sad. I do still have hopes that the story will be at least interesting. Just doing new things with the old plot will be fun. Praying they don't completely fuck it up tho, lol ✌️

Okay, so Selina the earth fairy as an antagonist

S6 did this by, for some insane reason, by making Selina Bloom's childhood friend who's always had magic which doesn't work on literally every level. So I'm going to try and come up with some ideas that make parts of it work

Selina the earth fairy that was taught by Eldora:

Tbh this is the easiest option

Selina is an earth fairy from the old days along with Eldora. During the WotBC attempted wiping out of all magic users they fled to Tir Na Nog and live under Morgana and Nebula

The Legendarum is a book created by ancient Faries that Selina's family has been in charge of caring for for generations

When the fairies of vengeance are released Selina is soooo excited to help kill the Wizards and the Winx, and their leader Bloom take their revenge away from them by complaining that they shouldn't be allowed to kill the people that tried to WIPE THEM OUT

Selina is pissed, and her teacher Eldora, the woman that saved her life, going on about how forgiveness is the way isn't helping

Season 5 teaches her about the rest of the magical dimension, season 5 teaches her about the Trix

The Trix are blinded by their desire for revenge and make the perfect pawns. They don't care what they lose as long as the winx don't win

And Selina assures them, the Winx will not win

Selina the earth fairy that was Bloom's friend:

This one is a very elegant solution me thinks and it's the FUN one.

Selina and Bloom are childhood friends and the main targets for Mitzi's bullying. Bloom has kind parents, Selina does not, and for eight hours a day they have to listen to people talk badly about them. Mitzi never puts hands on them but they're social pariah's and deal with constant verbal harassment and false accusations

First year of highschool is more of the same and Selina is prepared for it to be them against the world again in their second year, and then Bloom never comes to class

Selina is alone to deal with the bullying she at least had a confidant in Bloom to at least tolerate it with, and now she's alone

Mitzi tells everyone that Bloom was sent to a school that caters to the mentally ill to finally convince the 16 year old that fairies aren't real, and Selina makes things worse for herself by defending Bloom

They text each other, not often and Bloom won't tell her what new school she's going to but they still text. Selina comes over when Bloom goes back to earth (and goes home before the Trix show up)

And then the next year Bloom goes to Mitzi's Halloween party with her new, cool, pretty, friends. Bloom excitedly tells her about it, she's finally going to make Mitzi the butt of the joke and all Selina can think is that she's been replaced

That's not fair though? Bloom is allowed to be happy at her new school so she bites her tongue and pushes down her resentment and rejects Bloom's offer to come with

Next year is...fine. Bloom comes to her graduation party, and she's a bit mopey that she didn't graduate with honors like her new friends but is over all more excited to hear about Selina's college plans. Bloom goes on a trip in the middle of summer and comes back glowing because "the mistake in my grades was fixed and now I have honors!" And it sounds like a lie but Selina doesn't bother calling her out on it. I mean? What if she's telling the truth

Then season 4 happens, and then it's revealed that Bloom is a fairy

Not only did Bloom replace her with better, prettier friends, but she also lied to Selina about being a fairy. Lied to her face about everything related to magic because apparently Bloom never trusted her

And Selina burns with resentment

Selina stops responding to Bloom's texts and avoids her. Everyone asks Selina if she knew, if Bloom told her, who those aliens are, and all Selina has is half truths from the stories Bloom spun her to respond with

Seeing Mitzi become a fairy, unaware of the dead magic that run though her, unaware that the power Mitzi was given comes with a price no one should have to pay, Selina is furious. Incandescent

Magic returned to earth and Selina can float small objects. She's one of the few people that after the earth's magic core was repaired gained magic and she's on the bottom of the scale of power in a group categorized by how they're not as strong as those who can use magic without the core

Hatred fills her lungs like smoke

Season 5 Selina sticks to herself. Bloom usually isn't on earth like she was last year and this Diaspro chick who came from a different planet to help earth get caught up with the rest of the dimension is on the TV all the time talking about Bloom. Selina hates the fact that this woman who met Bloom though a knock-down drag-out fight knows Bloom better than Selina ever did

Did Bloom ever think of her as a real friend?

(Bloom couldn't take the one person that was her friend though all of that calling her a liar, she comes to regret this)

Eventually, while stumbling around the woods, far away from faces that could mock and lie to her she stumbles across a book. The Legendarum. It promises her power, Bloom's regret, importance. All she has to do is open it, anyone with magic can, her strength doesn't matter with the Legendarum doing the work for her

How could she ever refuse?
