Ok so we all know his childhood and family life was not the greatest and then chit happened and everyone was killed later. Ok with that said, imagine you a close friend he had back home. With you he was always able forget the abuse and pain, you were the soothing balm to his torturous life. You supported him and sent letters when he first left for the military and met him with love when he came back to try and sort out his family, helping him where you could and just were an listening ear when he needed, and he swore the only reason he was still sane after everything was because of you and your sweet smiles. Well as things take a turn for the better, his brother finally getting help and his father gone from the house he realizes that he doesn't see you as just a friend anymore, he feels a deeper connection now and the two of you start a relationship, your softness and love making him feel secure and complete for the first time in his life. After his brother's marriage and after he's returned to the military you both stay in touch, seeing each other when you can, love never wavering. The Roba happens and before he ran from the hotel room he learns its not just his family that have been targeted, but you as well and with panick and trying to get to his family as quick as possible with his hurt leg. He finds his family massacred and runs to find you, terrorfied that hes lost everything, and he finds you in a pool of your own blood........ but breathing, calling 911 and keeping you alive until EMS shows. Your near death and subsequent medical coma leaves him shaken, his hands feeling dirty with your blood, hands shaking knowing that he is the reason youre here like this. So he walks away, he walks out convincing himself that leaving you will protect you, will prevent anymore harm coming to you. Now I can't decide which angsty end I want for this, whether it be him working himself up to finally see you again years later only to stand and watch from afar as you hold a child with your hair on your hip and as a man kisses your cheek making you smile or ending numero dos accidentally running into you years later, you calling out to him and pulling him close as you say, "Simon! God I've waited so long to see you again. I have missed you so much, love," but with pain in his eyes he just shakes his head and replies, "You were supposed to move on..... not wait for me......I need you to move on."

Anyway thats on angsty thought I came up with, I have another for my boy Johnny MacTavish but Ill save that incase I get another ask about my CoD thoughts

Headcanon that merlin and Arthur can only die if the other is by their side. (Merlin can only die if Arthur is next to him, and Arthur can only die if merlin is next to him). This can explain the whole immortality thing, how Arthur escaped so many near death experiences, and opens the door for a reversed role where Merlin was the one to die instead. Also, the amount of angst and heartache that this creates is insurmountable. Also, I just really like greek tragedies, and I think only being able to experience death when your other half is near is pretty fucking tragic. (Also, I just really want a fic where they both spend their fair share of time being immortal and then finally die in eachothers arms, even better if they poisoned themselves together so they will never have to leave eachother again)

i'm generally trying to avoid talking too seriously about this video cause it's honestly just all really upsetting, but i can't shake the feeling that dan was editing the tour trailer at the hospital not just to have something to pass the time but specifically because it's this huge thing they're about to embark on that has to happen. it's planned, it's happening, there's no going back. phil can't die cause he's got too many things to do in the near future, he's fully booked, there's no time for any of that dying nonsense. i think focusing on their next big project probably helped dan stay somewhat calm cause by working on it he's assuming it's happening and if the tour is happening that means phil made it through

I REMEMBERED MY SAD HOBBIT THOT. But you x any of the dwarves and you still being human. They have to watch you age, wither, and die, while in comparison their age seems to stand still

Ok I'm not going to really write like a drabble/ficlet for this just because I want to ramble about the sad beauty that is the aging differences within Middle Earth because it goes for each different kind, humans obviously have the shortest life spans, with hobbits truly not living too much longer, then the dwarves who can live 100s of years, all the way to the immortality of the elves.

Theres a deeply sad beauty in knowing that dwarves/elves are forced to watch hobbits and humans they love or cherish age and grow old faster than they ever could, forced to bury so many friends and people they consider family before their time comes. The elves especially who only die if they are killed or they wither and fade from grief.

But this is the Tolkien universe and everything is always deeply connected, emotion filled, and soft in the way only love can be, and JRR showed so much love in LotR and The Hobbit. I do fully believe that elves and dwarves come to except rather quickly in life that they will be forced to watch others come and go while staying somewhat stagnant in age. I think of the beings the hobbits would have a harder time adjusting to death and having to outlive loved ones, because they wont be there to watch as many pass. Dwarves use death to mourn a friend but celebrate them joining their ancestors. The elves use their mourning to celebrate the person's life and accomplishments, choosing to thank them for their work in their short lifespans and share lively stories and songs with drink.

For the dwarves if the person dying is in fact their One, as dwarves only fall in love once, I can see them mourning them in a way for the rest of their lives, but moreso I see them praying to Mahal to get the chance to see and be with them in the afterlife (bc what I used stand "heaven" is split between the different races) and choosing to find ways to honor your memory while they still live. Ultimately, going into a relationship with a human or hobbit the elves and dwarves know what is going to happen, what they will eventually face, so they will find ways to cherish the time they have with you and will wait to be reunited with you some day.

Man I gotta say a controversial take..

If you hate Wincest shut up about it ok.

Hear me out, I am not personally a Wincest shipper, it's really not my cup of tea. However, I'm also not a fuckin thought cop and I feel like posting over and over about how much you hate something other people like is stupid.

They aren't real people, I will repeat, SAM AND DEAN ARE NOT REAL. So the whole 'it's immoral' argument is a bit silly, people aren't saying that this is fine in real life, as far as I know Wincest shippers know it's wrong (maybe part of the appeal IDK). These shippers aren't advocating for real life incest they just like the idea of *fictional* characters together stop policing other people's minds.

Another thing, if you hate it so much why are you thinking about it constantly like if you posted about it less you'd probably get less posts recommended about it. It's amazing the way you can curate your internet experience. Simply block people who post content you don't like and block tags of things you don't like. It's so irritating to me, because I will see one overt Wincest post a day but I will see a dozen anti posts every time I open the app. Most of the time I see people bring it up they are antis. I just hate seeing people posting that they wish they could purge people who like a ship from the fandom. Who's next as well, we start with Wincest and then what, Destiel? Sastiel? Sabriel? like again y'all sound like cops.

And lastly, if you don't like Wincest you may need to just find a different fandom. Wincest is baked into the fandom, it's a ship that has existed since the beginning (it may be the oldest big ship in the fandom). There are references to it in the show, it's something that Eric Kripke and Sera Gamble wrote into the show, you can't remove it because it is part of the show. You don't have to like it or ship it or interact with it but you can't get rid of it so either suck it up or leave...
