hi I just wanted to say thank you for your post about sheezy.art! I didn't know that existed, saw your post, checked the site out, signed up, and I am having so much fun so far! ...And being reminded how much stuff I missed from older internet days (I have started putting stamps on my profile. I forgot how much I loved stamps) - which is fun! Just... Thank you for sharing that existed! I never would have known otherwise and I'm so glad I know about this now??? :D

I hope they seriously up their marketing efforts once the site comes out of beta next January, this site seriously needs more people and I am not kidding when I say I want it to become the next deviantart. It really is just Deviantart But When It Was Good, the deviantart of my late 2000s and early 2010s childhood.

I do not like modern internet design at all, but sheezyart gets it all right. Even my very few nitpicks can be excused by the fact the website is in beta, and they're still working on getting everything up to their standards. I need to get more stamps on my profile, it is The Way Of The Art Websites. and the biggest perk is again they are very anti-AI so all the artists are Real !!!!!!!!!

the strange and perplexing duality of having throughly grown up with smartphones and knowing both that the free, unlimited, and semi-personal access to the internet they provided was, while also a curse, probably vital to your and others free positive development during otherwise hostile situations and times, and probably still is today... and also that it is a poison box of misery that you'd probably be better off without. or at least with way way less of. and then for fun, trying to imagine how you'd regulate your own kids time with it, if you were to have one

I play a video game called Vintage Story, been playing it since 2020. Absolutly love it. It's a 3D open world voxel game, like Minecraft, but that's about where the similitaries end. Anyways, on my current world, I have a 3x3x3 bunker room with some clay in it, I call it the Clay Hole. Whenever the storm that spawns monsters pass through, I bunker down in the clay hole and work on my pottery whilst the storm rolls on.

I'm telling you this to give context for this conversation I had with a friend who recently got the game

My friend's message, "I love (clay) hole", is the last thing my phone saw before it bricked itself. My phone's screen went VERY bright when that message went through (I always keep my screen on the dimmest it can go), before powering down, and entering a boot loop.

Connecting it to iTunes, it failed both a restore, and a factory reset, going through the whole process, finishing, and still having a boot loop. Error code 4013, which is everything from Face ID to the motherboard to the USB cable/port.

): IDK what to do. I don't want to buy a new phone right now. I'm trying to save for a new laptop. I've had this iPhone 11 for 4 years now, and it's been such a great phone. Maybe buy a used 11? Assuming I can find a trustworthy reseller . .. Going with a same model phone will allow my old phone to be kept as parts for the new one, so there is that. I could also just get the latest, a basic 16 model, and use that phone for another 4 years. IDK, all I know is that I'm upset over losing 4 years of photos, from having to do the factory reset.

Anyways, take some humor out of my misfortune. The Clay Hole was too powerful and killed my phone.

update: peach is doing very well!! she's eating and sleeping normally (sleeping more than normal, really, but that's to be expected)!! after 3 days of not sleeping and a few changes in painkillers, she finally just napped for an hr then, after another day, slept through the whole night (and most of the next day). she's started following all her usual routines again and is very keen to eat! still on some painkillers, but they're not having any horrific side effects anymore

now that im not staying up to keep an eye on her all night (while also dealing with upgrading my computer and my phone and also my sister preparing to go overseas and the dogs barking and howling constantly due to all of the above), i finally got some decent sleep too and slept for about 14 hrs. so today ive got that weird shakiness that i get from sleeping too much, but hey it's better than the whole of the last week

Does anyone know anything about Linux, specifically the Manjaro distro on a Lenovo ThinkPad? My distro stopped working entirely last week when I got back from my trip. I've tried researching it but I'm not having much success. The distro will boot but then freeze entirely within a minute or two. I have a dual-boot; I'm actually currently on my Windows 10 OS. (I really miss the tools that I had on Manjaro to unfuck my Tumblr dash. T_T) I thought perhaps the issue was my video driver, but wouldn't that mean that my Windows 10 OS wouldn't work either? And I don't know how to adapt kernals, especially if my Manjaro distro won't even stay operational long enough to get to the settings. Every Linux forum asks for computer stats but, other than the basics like brand etc., I don't know how to find those either.

I want to solve this myself but it's become so frustrating.

Waiting on seeing if a more solid job wants me and if not I'll explore some other options, that'd be real nice to have a consistent, scheduled job again but a lot of WFH stuff entails very specialized experience and certifications and/or regular phone and Zoom use with customers and not just coworkers/higher-ups and that is way not my jam. This is also just a weird time of year for jobs anyway based on my experience

i miss backwards compatibility so much.

a larger-than-you'd-expect part of my life is spent discovering that i can't access a website/product/feature/what have you because 1 it requires a smartphone app, 2 there won't always be an older version of the app you can download, and 3 my phone is old and can't be updated and can't get the newer OS
