I play a video game called Vintage Story, been playing it since 2020. Absolutly love it. It's a 3D open world voxel game, like Minecraft, but that's about where the similitaries end. Anyways, on my current world, I have a 3x3x3 bunker room with some clay in it, I call it the Clay Hole. Whenever the storm that spawns monsters pass through, I bunker down in the clay hole and work on my pottery whilst the storm rolls on.

I'm telling you this to give context for this conversation I had with a friend who recently got the game

My friend's message, "I love (clay) hole", is the last thing my phone saw before it bricked itself. My phone's screen went VERY bright when that message went through (I always keep my screen on the dimmest it can go), before powering down, and entering a boot loop.

Connecting it to iTunes, it failed both a restore, and a factory reset, going through the whole process, finishing, and still having a boot loop. Error code 4013, which is everything from Face ID to the motherboard to the USB cable/port.

): IDK what to do. I don't want to buy a new phone right now. I'm trying to save for a new laptop. I've had this iPhone 11 for 4 years now, and it's been such a great phone. Maybe buy a used 11? Assuming I can find a trustworthy reseller . .. Going with a same model phone will allow my old phone to be kept as parts for the new one, so there is that. I could also just get the latest, a basic 16 model, and use that phone for another 4 years. IDK, all I know is that I'm upset over losing 4 years of photos, from having to do the factory reset.

Anyways, take some humor out of my misfortune. The Clay Hole was too powerful and killed my phone.

Summary: After winning the UWCL with Barcelona, you end up face-to-face with Neymar on the field amidst celebrations as he has an epiphany.

Warnings: Pining, angst-ish, Neymar and reader are in their early 20s (to fit the timeline), happy ending, not proofread because Tumblr wanted to delete my proofread version and make me rewrite it x

A/N: First story on here (& first time writing for a man), I hope the 2 remaining Neymar fans on this app enjoy 😕.

You had been a player for FC Barcelona since you were 15 years old. You spent many years at your grassroots club before working your way up through the academy once the offer arose, and that eventually led to you becoming a player for the senior women’s team. The most important thing to you out of your whole career was your best friend, Neymar.

One thing about Neymar was that he loved fun, whether it was doing skill after skill on the pitch or dancing on a table as he sprayed champagne in the locker rooms. This playful nature of his made it natural for him to be a big partygoer.

He'd take any opportunity as an excuse to throw a party. On the weekends, after a big match, even before a big match, you name it; Neymar Junior was a party animal.

That made loving him even harder than it already was.

You'd walk into a room and see him buried underneath girls upon girls. Not even long after, he'd be up on his feet and dancing, his arm on another woman's waist as he smiled and enjoyed himself, allowing her to grind up on him. You pretended you didn't care, but it was easier said than done.

Some nights, you saw him take someone by their hand and lead them up the stairs as he smiled at them. It didn't take a genius to figure out what happened behind that locked door; the grunts and heavy breathing spoke for itself.

You liked him, and it hurt. Every party was agony for you as much as it was fun for him, but you stayed. You could never justify why.

It was good motivation on the pitch. The need to be the best elsewhere if you couldn't be the best for him was the only thing guiding you on the pitch as you put up numbers and slowly started to perform better than you ever had.

His parties didn't stop. The hookups never stopped. Over time, you became less aware of them, because you stopped showing up. It was all part of you accepting that he didn't like you the way you liked him and you'd never be one of the lucky women he takes up to his room for the night, no matter how hard you wished. Just best friends.

Since you had reinforced the idea of him being a best friend to you, passing him between training and at club events became easier. The recounts of his latest girl became less of a blow.

"Meu Deus, I am starving," he grumbled, suddenly appearing behind you as you loaded your plate with breakfast. He didn't hold back on piling his plate either. You two found a table and sat down beside each other.

"Did you not eat dinner or something?" You asked with an eyebrow raised as he ravaged his plate of food. He shook his head and looked at you with a smirk, "I had a different kind of dinner."

"Ets tan repugnant," you muttered, shaking your head. He laughed and nudged you. With what little knowledge of the Catalan language he had, he replied. "I'm kidding! I didn't have anyone over, it was just me. I'm done with all that."

You looked at him with disbelief until his eyes softened. "I'm serious. I want to settle." The genuine expression on his face made it hard to suspect him of lying, so you nodded.

"I've got training on the field. I'll see you later," you spoke, finishing off your breakfast and doing your dishes before leaving the cafeteria.

He watched you go; the reason for his decision. The scraps of his breakfast were left on his plate as he stood up and left the cafeteria in a hurry, hoping that he'd get to the gym or the pitch or even the locker rooms and see someone else.

That didn't happen. He was left with his own thoughts in the hollow and cold locker room. Every fling wasn't worth the 20 minutes of pleasure. It wasn't even his own pleasure. He didn't know why he kept chasing that feeling when, 5 fucks in, he never received it. He felt absent from his own body every time the door locked behind him and a body hit the mattress. Now it was obvious why that was happening.

When he finally left the locker room, he paused in front of the field. The women of the Barcelona women's team crowded the field, but his eyes restlessly searched for you. When he couldn't find you, he became hyper-aware of the time he had spent just standing there, and he practically sprinted off.

This didn't go unnoticed by you, and from behind Alexia's figure you could clearly see him disappearing into the facilities.

The Women's Champions League was the most talked about event within the club as it inched closer. That was one of the big things you loved about the club; no matter the gender, football was football. Both teams received the same support, as long as you played in the blaugrana. It was also being held in Bilbao, so basically next door, which meant more people from the club would be able to catch a flight and see the match.

The weeks following the final consisted of lots of nerves and what-ifs, but once you got on the team bus, it all disappeared somehow. You loved the bus rides with your team; even though it was such a simple activity, it was better than any real team bonding activity. You settled quickly beside Patri and behind Claudia and Ingrid.

As you listened to Patri's quiet snores beside you, you thought to yourself for a moment. You knew that the men didn't have any more matches scheduled for the rest of the month, and some of them would definitely be travelling to Bilbao to watch the final. Part of you hoped he would be part of the select few flying to Bilbao, going out of his way to come watch you and your team play.

You would've thought harder about it all, but your exhaustion caught up to you and you spent 3 and a half hours out of the long 6 hour drive sleeping. When you woke up, you spent a bit more time thinking, and the rest of the ride was spent engaging in conversations with your teammates before you drifted into a light sleep once again. When you woke up again, you had arrived in Bilbao.

Somehow, Fridolina's hoodie had been your pillow the whole time and one of your slides underneath the seat while the other was barely on your foot and you were sharing a fluffy blanket with Patri that was definitely not there earlier... it was a state for sure. Groggily, you all piled off the bus, your sweatpants rolled up to your knees in pantaloons as you walked off the bus.

The weather was nice and warm and despite the initial tiredness amongst the team, everyone was happy. You had a positive feeling about the final that awaited you, and you shared this thought with Alexia. You thanked the Lord for the absence of the media crew, because judging by your reflection in your phone screen, you looked horrific as you waddled into the hotel lobby.

Neymar had barely escaped your mind despite everything going on around you, but you didn't have time to think about him, not with Ale right beside you, her arm wrapped around you as she squeezed your shoulder. She was like a big sister to you in a sense, and for that you were grateful. It gave you relief, because you finally felt like you could open up to someone about your feelings for Neymar that were feeling like an eternal issue.

As you checked into your hotel room, something in your gut told you that your stay in Bilbao would be very special in ways that went beyond the Champions League. You could only wait for Saturday and see for yourself.

Welcome to my art archive. I've posted a lot about my OCs, TWEWY, Persona 5, Xenoblade X and in other fandoms.

Unfortunately due to recent-ish changes on Tumblr I no longer feel comfortable posting here much or at all. I'll keep my blog up for the foreseeable future or maybe even forever because of how Tumblr stores data. I'd rather have the link back to the source.

Or if the other sites explode in the meantime.

It's user funded and transparent about the breakdown of funds

They're against generative AI. Their reinforcement came out around the time Tumblr's not-really-against-it stance came out. This is huge to me.

They're working on a PWA of the site so it will have a way to function like a smartphone app

Image post options aren't great but you aren't limited to 4 (unlike cohost - kinda, and Bluesky)

Alt text gets eaten if you edit a post currently which is awful. (Tumblr used to do this.) Alt text isn't an option for picture type posts but is for text posts with pictures. But hey at least you can include alt text!

Communities are nice for fandoms and stuff. You can search by tags but you don't follow tags, you join/watch communities.

They have funding for the next 6 months past any month that was fully funded. So as of April 1, 2024, funding should last until (the end?) of October if they were to not get any more donations/subscriptions from now on. Basically, they have a 6 month buffer and so far for 2024 they've been keeping it and maintaining their monthly funding goals

Neocities

Home page URL should not change but artwork URLs might

The artwork section is inspired by Tumblr's archive page/system. I don't think I want it to be exactly like it (might be a limitation of static pages re: tag filtering) but I want to try and partially make it

Artwork on there have been nightshaded and glazed. I would like to reglaze some pieces that are too glazed for my liking, now that I have a better computer for it (so it doesn't take forever). That's why not a lot of art is on there yet

I might go into detail about how I automated some of the web dev stuff to make my life easier on my my main blog. In summary: I'm using 11ty (eleventy), generating pages from data and templates, using github for version control and github actions for updating the site automatically

Bluesky:

Feeds are cool. I've found and made (through SkyFeed) a lot of Feeds. Feeds can look for text in posts and alt text, and/or specific tags. Can filter out reblogs or replies. Can work off of user lists. Can include/exclude specific posts - like Twitter Moments. There's a lot of flexibility and filtering.

Feeds can lookback anywhere from 25 hours to 1 week when not looking at one user. So when pulling from many users, you could just get the latest updates. For one user (say your own gallery of whatever) you're allowed to go back to the beginning, it can be your art gallery. And then people can just follow that feed so you don't have to worry about your art getting buried if people just want to follow your art

There's a setting you can turn on to warn and prevent you from posting until you add alt text. I love this. Especially since, like Twitter, you can't go back and edit a post

Forcing ALT text has the added bonus of leaving it last so I can double check tags and text in case I accidentally hit the post button before I'm ready

Twitch

There is art. And VTuber stuff. And life updates. Art/project updates. Lots of OC talk. Like I wish I could post more about Null considering how much stuff I've spoken about them on stream but freaking time! And energy.

YouTube

Used to do more Timelapses but stopped because laptop was not having fun with it. Now that I have a new computer it might be better!

Also has Twitch VODs because I want another place to back up VODs since local recordings take up a lot of space. And I can mark Chapters(/Moments?) timestamps to find stuff again.

So what is the blog for now? Archiving, mainly, as I said at the beginning. I might link to my neocities page in maybe art updates or to pillowfort. And I might need a place to fall back to if the other sites don't last. I know bluesky and cohost are not much better/probably not better in other ways so I know that posting on them probably won't be good long term.

But that's why I'm working on the art archive site on the side. I'll always have a safe and controlled place where I can have all my art and details and stuff. It's gonna take a while and it's challenging but it's what I feel like I gotta do now.

It seems tumblr's latest update changed how pictures are viewed. When you click on a picture to see the fullscreen version you get all these overlays which. I do not like. I guess there is some useful info in there like how many pictures are left in the post but it's really starting to remind me of instagram (derogatory) where you can barely see videos because of buttons all over the screen and any captions end up impossible to read. It all goes away if you click again so I guess it's alright for now but I am still wary. I Do Not Trust where this is heading but I am giving it the benefit of the doubt.

But! if you swipe up, instead of un-fullscreening the picture as we all expect the app to do and have muscle memory for, it does this:

It goes to a new post. This is not the next picture in the post. (I noticed it trying to swipe off the last picture but it does happen with every picture in the set. It's very easy to accidentally swipe the wrong way--say, because you have mobility issues--and jump to a post you didn't want.) This is not the next post in the tag I was searching. This is not the next post on OP's blog, because, as you can see, when I click off and back again, I get a different post every time. (These were all swiping up from that same picture of Susan.) By now I think you all know about my deep love for The Iconfactory. They are the brains behind Twitterrific — may Ollie rest in peace — and Wallaroo. But they also make this amazing drawing app called Linea Sketch!

The Iconfactory also does design work and consultations. They recently did the artwork for Stream’s feature in the App Store . They’re extremely talented and so easy to work with. Give them a shout if you needs some design work!

It’s not quite the end of Tumblr, but when management is supposedly sending memos with the Lord Tennyson quote about having “loved and lost,” it doesn’t look like there’s much of a future.

I’ve had a Tumblr account for years and years and I cross post to it, like I do Mastodon, but I’ve never used it as my primary blog. I’d considered it multiple times but I was never happy with their fixed taxonomy. I like to publish my posts in a Y/M/D format and Tumblr doesn’t support that. They also don’t publish static HTML which is another strike against them.

I’m bummed out by the possibility of it disappearing. It’s one of those internet properties I’d like to see stick around. It’s also looks like they’re gonna drop ActivityPub. 😔

There’s no real way to gloss over the fact that Mac sales went down 34 percent versus the year-ago quarter. And yet, for some reason, Maestri and Cook got out their Tom Sawyer paintbrushes and got to work.

At some point hyper-growth will stop. It’s just the way it is. Of course Apple offsets this by raising prices, which isn’t a surprise.

I got my first M based Mac early last year and didn’t unwrap it and start using it until early summer because I felt that my x86 Mac was fine. Luckily I decided to take the plunge to M2 land because I went from being a Director back to being a Software Engineer.

For me I’d guess this M2 could easily go for five years before it feels sluggish, and who knows, maybe beyond that?

As I like to say. I’m not compiling Photoshop or Microsoft Word. I’m just compiling iOS Apps. Even big iOS apps written in Swift build super fast. I’d even wager an M1 MacBook Air would blow the doors off my old x86 based Mac. They’re fast!

Disney’s combined Disney Plus and Hulu streaming app is on the way. As part of its fourth-quarter earnings results, Disney announced it’s going to launch the new app in beta for bundle subscribers in December, with the official launch coming in early spring 2024.

We are Hulu subscribers, Kim loves it. It makes me wonder how much it’ll change or will it literally be merging what Hulu offers directly into the app? So far Max seems to be fine with this strategy, although I’d prefer to have HBO content front and center instead of the mix of items we have today. Here’s hoping they do a great job combining the properties. I think they will.

I read this post two days ago and I keep thinking about it because well, it's so damn recogniseable to me. So here's my two cents about my experiences with coming back to art! I created my blog years ago but only seriously came back ~a year ago or so to become active, coinciding with me getting back into fanfiction. And well, me getting back into fanfiction also led to me getting back into art. Now I'm in my thirties, and honestly? I'm afraid to call myself an Artist - mentally I'm prefacing it with "amateur" to soften it. I still feel so, so new to this - my style tends to be 'whatever I feel like at the moment' and 'why is this too round? I didn't want it to be this round' and 'somewhat distinctive pen-and-ink I suppose'. I've been ever-so-slowly working my way through Draw-A-Box and trying-and-failing to keep up a consistent art habit - and yet it's consistent enough that I come back to it every two or three months at most. I totally agree with bostoniangirl21 - Art Takes Time. And I'd like to add to that that it also takes Acceptance. You'll fail. You'll fail over and over and it sucks and it's not fair, and you look at your piece of art and all you can see is the flaws, and how could anyone love this? And then you post it on Tumblr and... People do love it. They see the art where you only see the flaws. They don't get to see the sketches and the pieces you dislike so much you keep them away from posting. And I can assure you - even the very best artists with the most gorgeous portfolio have sketches like that; the practice pieces, the stuff that just didn't turn out the way you wanted it to be. Honestly, the best tip I can give you is this: HAVE FUN. Enjoy the process. And even if you don't feel your drawing is going anywhere, it's still a part of the process of becoming better. You learn from every piece you make, whether you feel it's successful or not. The anxiety that comes with posting and showing your art, though, I don't know if that will ever leave. Be bold. Own your art - and your soul will shine through like it does in the piece above!

To end, here's a bit of my progress - one concept I iterated on a few times in the past two years.

This one's from the end of 2021, before I'd decided to focus on art again. It's Veryn as a student at the Arcane University, Veryn as Nerevarine, and Veryn as a member of the College of Winterhold.

These are from early 2022. My heart lies with painting, rather than with lineart - painting allows me to hide so many flaws :p I spent like five days on this, playing around with photoshop for most of the day. I drew the body on top of the body from a posing app.

And the latest one, from mid 2023. Much cleaner rendering, and lines, but admittedly I prefer the pose and contrast of the version I made before!

If you’ve been following me for any decent stretch of time, you’ll know that originally what I started doing here is just writing. It makes me happy, keeps my heart full, and I am stricken with the brain rot, so I do what it tells me. However, I have been sharing my art (mostly hand lettering and plants) as well. I never really (and still do not) consider myself to be an artist, and I have never been able to draw people other than stick figures.

I have been practicing for months and months, and mostly if you see people art that I post here, the outlines and clothing details are traced.

Perhaps this doesn’t seem like much and could definitely be improved, but I did this all by myself (no reference or tracing at all), and I am very proud of myself.

Same old, boring routine.

Y/N hit post and slumped against the headrest of her bed, sighing. She waited; a minute, then two passed and she noticed that someone had liked her post. She smiled to herself as she kept her phone away. Though boring, she wouldn't trade her life for the world. Y/N… well, she was a university student first and foremost but she was also a writer.

Being a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she had started writing fanfictions a few years ago. She posted them on Tumblr, where her blog, though not very well-known, stood out enough for her posts to get around 800-1000 likes per post. She loved it; she loved writing, she loved posting her stories and especially, she loved the feedback.

Sometimes people were rude, but most times, the reviews she got were fantastic. She read each and every one of them, smiling goofily as people freaked out over her fanfictions. It warmed her heart. A smile automatically blooming on her face, Y/N lay down on the bed and decided to go to sleep, it being almost 3 am.

Unbeknownst to her, someone else was up at the same time, tossing and turning in his bed, restless.

Sebastian sighed as he sat up, running a hand through his hair. He drank some water and lay down again, closing his eyes but it was like sleep was mad at him. Refused to be anywhere near him. He groaned to himself and picked up his phone from the nightstand, deciding to go through Instagram, hoping he'd finally fall asleep to the glare of the screen.

As he logged into his account, he skipped the activity page and went straight to the explore page. Bored, he continued scrolling until his eyes landed on a specific photo. And the breath escaped his lungs when he clicked on it; the woman in the picture was absolutely gorgeous. He just couldn't resist going to her page, smiling widely when he read her bio.

It gave him her basic information; her name, her age, the university she attended. But what caught his eye was the link below the bio. My Marvel Fanfictions Master List. Marvel fanfictions? She was a writer? Smirking, he clicked on the link and it took him to Tumblr. Of course, he'd heard of the site, but didn't have an account on there. At 3 am, his mind sure wasn't working right.

A post popped up on the screen, the same master list she had mentioned earlier. And his eyes bulged out of their sockets; damn, those are a lot of fanfictions. He went through the whole thing, smirking again when he noticed that she had written the most fanfictions about him. Not Bucky Barnes, no, Sebastian Stan.

He clicked on the first one. The date of posting was way back, in 2019. He started reading; nothing about it felt weird to him; he was intrigued, if anything. And as he continued reading, he couldn't help but imagine her being in the stead of the female protagonist. Her, the writer. The woman whose picture had made him end up reading in the first place.

When he finished the story, his heart thudded wildly in his chest. Wow, she really has a way with words. And he had also noticed how in the author's note, she used a lot of slang but reading the story had made him realize that she had an amazing, extensive vocabulary. He went back to the master list and clicked on the latest post under his name.

Posted: 15 minutes ago.

His breath hitched in his throat when he read the warnings: there was going to be sexual intercourse in this one. For one moment, he hesitated; did he really want to read this? "Oh fuck it," he huffed and scrolled, starting to read. The more he read, the more his shaft twitched in his pants. He wasn't really like that during… but oh damn, he wasn't complaining.

"Oh, Seb…"

His hand slid down and he rubbed himself through his boxers, unable to take his eyes off the text in front of him. His strokes got harder and faster as the sex got steamier. "Ungh, I'm gonna cum—" And he suddenly came in his boxers, groaning. Slumping down on the bed, he quickly finished reading the rest of it, going back to the master list.

He took a screenshot with the account's name in it and then went back to her Instagram account to take another screenshot. Keeping his phone away, he slipped out of his boxers, cleaned himself and pulled the covers on top of him, finally feeling tired enough to fall asleep.

Y/N was walking across the campus of her university, going to the cafeteria when her phone buzzed in her pocket. Taking it out, she opened Tumblr to read the message someone had sent her just then.

his-username: Hi there! I was binging your account last night, you write really well

your-username: Omg thank you!!!! I really appreciate it, I love getting feedback! 🥺❤

his-username: You're welcome! Especially your latest post, that was really good ;)

your-username: hehe 😈 glad you liked it!

Smiling widely, she kept her phone away and continued walking, not knowing that the person who had texted her was the same man she had written about. Sebastian smiled to himself when he read her text. After getting up in the morning, the first thing he had done was install Tumblr on his phone. Then he made an account for himself.

Figuring out the app was easy; he found out that there was an option to keep your liked posts and the accounts you followed hidden, and selected it immediately. No one needed to know what he did on the app. Then he went back to her account, pressed the follow button and started binge-reading her fanfictions again. Last night had he read only two, and that had left him wanting more.

Funny how much things can change in a night. He liked and reblogged all her posts without a second thought; he even read all her Bucky Barnes posts. She understood his character so well, put him on what he thought was an undeserved pedestal while writing about him. Some of the stories were AUs, which he found out stood for Alternate Universes. Mostly mobster or mafia stuff.

He had the day off, and he spent the entire time cooped up in his apartment, on his bed, reading. The more he read, the more he started fawning over her, over the version of him that she put out to the world. Dominating, suave and just perfect. He loved it. At the end of the day, he decided to text her again, hoping she wouldn't think he was weird or find out the truth.

his-username: do you wanna be friends, maybe? I'm new to the app, don't really have any friends here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That was a lie, he knew Mark Ruffalo had an active Tumblr account. But it's not like he could tell him.

your-username: Yes sure!!!! I was also thinking of making some friends on this app lol

Sebastian smirked at his phone. A crush on him, huh? That… was acceptable. He suddenly felt his cocky side coming out; the one she described in nearly all her fanfictions.

his-username: wouldn't blame ya, I mean, look at him. You have also written the most fics about him and Bucky

your-username: right????? damn that man has raised my standards. Anyway, I gtg now, I have to finish a paper before midnight. ttyl!

his-username: Bye! 👋🏻

He kept his phone away and took in a deep breath. This was the most fun he had had in years, and he was not letting her go so easy. He realized he was quickly falling for her; rather unhealthy, but he couldn't help it. Look at her. She looks like a goddamn angel, writes like one, makes him feel like one, do you really expect him not to fall for her? That's insane.

Months passed by like a breeze. Y/N and Sebastian had become very good friends, and he knew his way around words just enough to keep her from finding out his identity while not lying to her. Y/N also appreciated his friendship, because he was the one to whom she could rant about her most favorite man in the world— Sebastian Stan.

Sometimes, she thought about how weird of a coincidence it was that her new friend and the actor shared the same names, but then she used to brush it off; that was a common name, right? They talked for hours on end; Sebastian (her friend, not the actor) was extremely witty, smart and fun to talk to, she had to admit. Sebastian felt the same way.

His feelings had worsened. Y/N entirely owned his heart now. Somedays, he'd just go on Instagram, go to her account— her username memorized by him— and stare at her photos until he grew tired; he'd never get tired of looking at her beautiful face but his stiff body afterwards begged to differ. She was just so Elysian. He longed for the moment when he could meet her in real life.

His personality had also changed majorly, and people had caught on. Especially his Marvel co-stars, who knew him to be introverted, shy and, in Anthony Mackie's words, "boring". They were surprised at his sudden change in attitude; he knew his worth and Y/N had helped tremendously in finding it. Now, all those adjectives that she used in her fanfictions fit him perfectly.

Sebastian was never tempted to read fanfictions about himself from authors other than Y/N. No, he only loved her work. He was sure no one else could write as beautifully as she did, he was her #1 fan. Y/N even sent him funny Marvel memes she found on the app and he used to enjoy them heartily; God, the others have no idea what they're missing out on. Our fans are awesome.

Everything was going well.

Until one day.

Sebastian was getting bored at home, so he decided to go to the nearby library to clear his mind. He had read not one book in the past few months, hung up on Y/N's fanfictions. At this point, he was obsessed with her and he knew it. It was nothing dark, per se, it was— it was similar to how Y/N was attracted to Sebastian. How she was a fan of his work.

Just the same. He was a fan of her work in the same way. Just how she was attracted to him, he was attracted to her. Walking into the library that he visited often, he gave the librarian a smile and ventured further into the dark place. He checked his watch; the library closed at 12 am, it was currently 9:30 pm.

Not many people were around, heck, nobody was around. He thought himself to be all alone until he heard it. A sigh, coming from a few aisles away. He walked in that direction and peeked around the corner, freezing when he saw the other person. Y/N? Her books were strewn all across the table as she sat alone at the booth, rubbing her temples.

"You okay?"

She looked up and her breath caught in her throat. I'm dreaming. This is not real. Now I know for a fact that Sebastian Stan is not standing in front of me, asking me if I'm— "Hello?" He snapped his fingers in front of her face, pulling her out of her thoughts. "I, uh— I'm— h-hi," she stammered and he almost chuckled. "Hi." She gulped visibly and blinked at the table, not meeting his eyes.

"Can I have a seat?" He wants to sit with me?! "Y-Yes, sure, sir," she blurted out and he easily slid into the booth next to her. "Hey, please, call me Sebastian. What's your name?" He gave her a friendly smile, even though all he wanted to do was push her back into the booth and kiss her wildly. His shaft twitched just by thinking about it; Y/N was a thousand times more beautiful in person.

"I'm Y/N, it's very nice to meet you, I'm… I'm a fan," she admitted, playing with the ring she wore on her left thumb. I'm your fan too, sweetheart, the biggest one. "Y/N, nice name. You come here often? I haven't really seen you around." She shook her head. "Oh no no, I moved to this part of the city just a week ago, this is my first time here. The library is cozy," she shrugged, easing out of her tense position.

Sebastian nodded. "Yes, I know, this place is awesome. Got all my favorite books here," he chuckled and she smiled at him. "What's all this?" A groan left her lips. "Ugh, stupid university work. I have to write a book report but I don't even know what to write about." He smiled gently. "Well, I have a few favorite books, would you like some suggestions?"

"Oh, please! Tell me!"

He started listing some of his favorite works and Y/N noted the names down until he said the last name. At that, she froze. That's the name of my latest— She looked up but he had a smile on his face. "Oh, and the last one is by my favorite author." He took a pause. "Y/N Y/L/N." She froze completely, staring at the man with her jaw dropped.

Sebastian grinned. "We finally meet, Y/N, I've been waiting for months." Her mouth opened and closed several times as she recalled every interaction she had had with her online best friend— scratch that— her celebrity crush. All the times she had confessed her love for Sebastian Stan, all the dirty and inappropriate memes that she'd sent him…

Embarrassment flooded her entire body as she exhaled shakily. "It was you," she croaked out, "On Tumblr, the account— I'm so sorry—" Sebastian frowned in confusion when she blinked back sudden tears, a few still rolling down her cheeks as shame replaced embarrassment. "Y/N, please don't cry…" She looked up at him, his figure blurry due to her tears.

"You've read everything, haven't you? I just— I'm sorry, I don't want to make you uncomfortable—" He pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. Y/N couldn't hug back, though she appreciated the hug especially since it came from him. "You don't know how much you mean to me, doll," he mumbled into her shoulder, using the nickname she often used in the stories she wrote about him. He grew accustomed to it easily.

"Huh?"

He pulled away to wipe her tears. "It was an accident," he admitted, "But I stumbled onto your Instagram account from my explore page. Then I clicked on your account, saw that you wrote Marvel fanfictions and I just couldn't resist the urge to read what you had written. Blame it on 3 am me, to be honest. You're a great writer, and I was immediately drawn to your works. They're awesome.

"They've helped me so much in the past few months. You see this changed attitude that everyone's been talking about lately? All because of you, sweetheart. I'm sorry for keeping my identity secret, but after reading your works, I knew I had to get closer to you. I made the Tumblr account just for you, just so I could talk to you. I'm sorry for lying, but thank you."

Y/N dumbfoundedly stared at him for a few moments, her heart beat getting steady with each thump. Here was a man she admired, loved more than anyone else in the world, telling her that he harbored the same feelings for her. How crazy was that?! Not trusting her words, she simply pulled him into another hug. Sebastian wrapped his arms tight around her, pulling her flush against him.

"Can I kiss you, doll?"

She slowly pulled away from him and nodded, shyly biting her lip. Grinning at the endearing gesture, Sebastian cupped her face and leaned in, gently pressing his lips to hers. The kiss grew hungry in a matter of seconds, and Y/N responded just as eagerly. His hands slid down to her waist and tugged on it, pulling her on his lap. She straddled his thighs as they continued kissing.

"Fuck," he groaned when they finally pulled away from each other, out of breath and panting. "You see what you do to me, doll?" Sebastian spoke huskily as he took her hand, placing it right on top of the tent that was forming in his pants. "Oh," Y/N whimpered when she felt him, the sound going straight to his shaft. "How about I take you home and we recreate some of the scenes from your stories, hm?"

"O-Okay."

"Good girl."

so, just to break down what appears to have happened with Tumblr's latest update:

normally, on web, in order to access all of the posts on someone's blog under a certain tag, you could just type in "blogname.tumblr.com/tagged/skypictures" (fake url, obviously)

if the tag in question has spaces in it (i.e. "sky pictures" instead of "skypictures"), Tumblr automatically replaces those spaces when copying the url and fills them in with "%20". so, the url would become "blogname.tumblr.com/tagged/sky%20pictures". but it would still load to the same page, filled with the same posts.

after last night's update, any links to tags with spaces in them appear to have been broken (at least on my end; i am on the latest version of the Android mobile app). the links still open on web, but when trying to access them on mobile, they instead lead to a blank page telling you nothing was found.

this is obviously a huge issue for people like myself, who meticulously organize their blogs and keep a masterlist of links in their pinned post for easy access. as of right now, two of my major tags (for my OTP and for my OC) can no longer be linked to via text because they contain spaces.

i have been told by some of my friends that my links are still working for them, but after trying everything i could think of last night, i cannot get them to work for me. i don't know if it's a Tumblr issue, an Android issue, or a temporary bug (i know they have been working on redirecting everyone's urls).

in any case, i am extremely frustrated and hoping i don't need to go back and manually change 2 years' worth of tagged posts by removing all of the spaces. 🙃 if anyone has any insight on this or knows anyone else who is experiencing it, please let me know!

UPDATE: so far it seems to be an Android issue, as at least one other person is having the same problem on the Android app.

Why I Stopped Writing:

Many of you know me as webslingerholland. My tumblr page was very popular from 2016-2018. My best stories were Baby Holland and The Royal Family. I wrote for Tom Holland, Peter Parker, Harrison Osterfield, Sam Holland, and Harry Holland. I had millions of followers and thousands of likes on each post.

It wasn’t until October 15, 2018 that it all went downhill. My life changed dramatically to the point we’re I was forced to leave my home. It was a painful time for me. I was full of anger and frustration. And I made the mistake of deleting my tumblr and all my stories on it. To this day, this has been my biggest regret.

I wish I kept those stories. I wish I kept those memories. I wish I could reread all the comments. I wish I could remember my followers. I wish I could turn to my inbox to see my latest messages from fans. I wish…I wish…I wish.

But I can’t. It’s gone now.

I came back in 2020. I made a new account under the same username. Some of the original creators found me again. Some of my old followers were still around. I found that a lot of people had been asking about me over the years. I can’t justify why I deleted everything. There is no excuse. And I seriously regret it.

I started rewriting my stories, occasionally finding some copyrighted versions on different platforms. I was doing well again until…

I met someone.

We started seeing each more often and we started dating a couple months later. I was finally happy again. I didn’t need to turn to my writing to find happiness. I found it with him. And so I stopped writing. I still have my account here. I might even still add to it from time to time. I might come back to write stories again. I might do a lot of things.

Last Friday was the three year anniversary of the worst day of my life. I was feeling really low, but my boyfriend had the whole day planned out to keep my mind off the bad memories. And at the end of the day, he got down on one knee and proposed to me. I obviously said yes.

I’ll never close the door to tumblr. I’ll always leave it open for the possibilities. I actually am still writing on Wattpad. I’ve found a lot of joy in that because I originally started on that platform. What’s important to know is that im still here. I still open the app every day. I just don’t post stories anymore…at least, not right now.

But I’m happy. I have someone who makes me happy. I’m doing well in college. I’ve gotten closer to my family. I’m getting married in the spring. It’s a good life.

And so I write this as a little life update. I doubt many people will read it. I don’t think I have as many followers as I did back in the day. But to those who do still follow me and check up on me, this was for you.

Thank you for everything. Thank you for the love. Thank you for the comments. Thank you for the likes. Thank you for the follows. Thank you for making me happy for so many years. I appreciate everything you did for me. I love you so much!

Overcast has a new version—my favorite podcast app got a little better

Marco Arment has developed some of my favorite things on the Internet. He was lead developer in the very beginning at Tumblr. He wrote Instapaper, the first read-it-later app. And he is now developing Overcast, a terrific podcast player—free with ads, or $10/yr.

I’ve been using Overcast as my podcast player since mid-December, after using it on-and-off over the years. I think I'm going to stick with it for the long term now. I recommend it for iPhone users who, like me, listen to a lot of podcasts.

There’s a new version out. From my perspective, the upgrades are mostly cosmetic, but there are a few new features I like. And Marco says this is just "phase one of the redesign," so I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes with it.

I like Overcast because audio quality is better than any of the major podcast players I’m familiar with. And the user interface is nice, making it easy to control listening.

Oh, and one other thing: Overcast is open. You’re not locked in to a vendor platform. That’s important, as Spotify muscles in to the podcast market and tries to control the relationship between podcasts and their audiences, the way Facebook, YouTube, and Amazon have done with other creators.

As with previous versions of Overcast, you can organize your podcasts using playlists. Of the three podcasting apps I’m familiar with—Castro, Pocket Casts, and Overcast—Overcast has the best playlist system. You can organize playlists by selecting which podcasts to include or exclude, and you can also include individual episodes of podcasts. You can set some podcasts as priority, automatically moving new episodes to the top of your playlist. And you can move individual episodes around in the playlist manually, by just dragging them.

Most of the time lately, I just use one big playlist of everything, in reverse chronological order, newest first. But sometimes I like to break out a separate playlist of specific podcasts or episodes. Overcast makes it easy to do that. Some people like to organize their podcasts into multiple playlists—daily news, sports, tech, etc.—and Overcast is good for that.

New in the latest version: The app prominently highlights which podcast episode I’m listening to, and which playlist I’m listening to, making it easy to keep track. That's useful because sometimes I go nuts and have a lot of playlists.

Another useful new feature: a prominent display of recently downloaded episodes. You can see that in the image above, the horizontal band labeled "Recent." Long-press on an image in that band, then tap to reveal controls to move the episode to a playlist manually—such as the "queue" playlist for immediate listening, or any other playlist. From the Recent band, you can also delete the podcast episode, or do nothing, in which case the episode will be automatically added to any smart playlist that fits the criteria.

Also new: You can re-order playlists using drag-and-drop. Sometimes I do have a lot of playlists and it’s nice to be able to move the frequently used playlists to the top of the screen.

Re-ordering playlists works nicely with another feature of Overcast—when you reach the end of a playlist, you just hit play and Overcast starts playing the next playlist. That’s an old feature of Overcast, but I just recently heard about it.

Another new feature: A toggle in the podcast list allows you to show only podcasts with unplayed episodes, which is useful if I’m out and about and looking for something to listen to. (There are actually three toggles here: one for podcasts with unplayed episodes, one for active podcasts with played or unplayed episodes, and one for inactive podcasts. I’d like it better if there were only two views—podcasts with unplayed episodes and all podcasts—but it’s no big deal.)

This is not the first time I’ve used Overcast. I’m never satisfied with podcasts apps, and I regularly switch between three: Castro, Pocket Casts, and Overcast. Each of them has user interface elements that I like better for a while, and then I get frustrated with shortcomings and I spend about an hour moving all my podcasts over and use that app for a few months, before I get tired of that one too and move on.

However, in December, it occurred to me that I spend almost all my time with the app listening to the podcasts, and relatively little time actually interacting with the app. So audio quality matters a thousand times more than user interface features. And for audio quality, Overcast seems to be best. I like to listen to podcasts with the playback speeded up—sometimes more than 2x normal speed—and Overcast seems to work best for that of all the three I regularly use.

I don’t think I’m going to be switching podcast apps again for a long time. Overcast works great.

After using my controller of testing its buttons, batteries results, and doing gyro/motion controls in check, I decided to bring this for my YCCTEAM Controller topic to finished and give the results for how good was my controller is....almost. For my next one that I said from my April 22nd post, I've recording a video of using my controller during playtime with one of my games I choose. This video I did was back in April 18th; before 5 days later til showing my controller's gyro and motion through 👻Luigi's Mansion 3. Link Here

However though, I actually did 3 or 4 recording clips during the same day and I wanted to merge all 4 to make one video during this month of May 2021; instead of doing one at the time in clips. I can thank for my PicsArt app on my iPad Mini 2 to help me doing video edits and it really works! *thumbs up*

However, it seems that I can't remove its tradmark on the right side bottom of the recording video. I'm sorry if I'll just leave it like that cause I don't have some money into my Apple account to purchased the PicsArts membership to help me remove its tradmark. At least knowing its small enough to not bother during this video of me playing games with my YCCTEAM Controller I've recorded. Nevertheless, let's get into my next topic part about using my pro switch controller through playtime I've been saving since April 18th. What better ways to show me playing with my controller with a game that I got from last year of Decemeber 2020 as my late Christmas gift: 🌟Super Mario 3D All-Stars! I've waiting for months to ever get started of my new progress through one of three gaming collection at first look. Just hoping that my buddy 🐰🖌Maxwell and his siblings will be ready to bring their reactions; mostly with Maxwell cause he's a big Mario fan and he'll be looking forward of me having fun with this game's progress I'll be bringing soon. Enough talking, let's-a-go for my latest topic part for today!

Since now this recording video was actually the merge one with different shots I edited by using my PicsArt app, I'll begin saying the first one I did with my pro switch controller is doing Mario's moves through Super Mario 64. You know from my childhood that I happened to play the original Super Mario 64 since childhood. I remember when using my old N64 controller to play as Mario; jumping, running, and walking was a alright experience to begin my journey exercise to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. Now years later that I got the 3D All-Stars collection version, I'm using my YCCTEAM Controller to get into Super Mario 64 once again. I still got it remember for the controls after learning from my original N64 game years ago, so here I am doing this to test my modern controller at hands. It looks good for starters when I use the left analog stick to move Mario and pressing the A button to perform jumping. I even do altogether while running and pressing the A button to perform a triple jump move.

Onto the next clip that I edited was pressing the Y button to perform his punching attack; like if I would be using it more often then doing jumping on enemies. At least knowing I've using it for the first boss battle which I'll get to that on my next video next month, by the way. I did five or more times of him throwing punches and the respond works fine. *thumbs up*

I quickly get into another part by performing Mario's ground pound move attack. I pressed the A button and ZR button while mid air. Just like my previous ones that it can do well when you gonna use for enemies/bosses and doing switching puzzles.

Finally now we're getting into the last part I've gotten of doing more of Mario's moveset I recorded. First was the jump kick attack after pressing the jump button then pressing X or Y button to kick in midair. Not bad, but barely if using it during my journey to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser sometimes. After that, I'm now doing the running long jump by moving the left analog stick to make Mario run faster a bit. Meanwhile pressing the Y button at the exact time can perform his long jump that I can feel the vibration on my YCCTEAM Controller; which is unexpected to say at least. I should've turned off the controller's vibration off during my recording, though....Just in case if It'll be little annoying when trying to have my gameplay through Super Mario game. Just saying, though. Anyways, I'm doing one more thing before ending this video and give some results about using my YCCTEAM Controller during playtime at first try. This is for the camera adjustment part as I use the right analog stick to move the camera; which Lakitu holding. It's little bit slow though when I'm trying to move the right analog stick quickly, but it was okay when using it for looking things; except looking into Mario's face cause reasons.

Looks like that's all I can bring you in this recording video of how far using my YCCTEAM Controller for Super Mario 64. Just wishing I could bring more of Mario's moves I haven't gone through it yet; such as crouching and doing backwards jumping. I did happened to perform those while not recording, but let's just say they're works fine as well; even could be useful during this game's progress. 🙂👍🏼

My Thoughts:

To my latest topic post for my YCCTEAM Controller review, it was a good start of using it during my playtime with Super Mario 3D All-Stars game and to the controlling respond as well. Testing with Mario's moves of jumping, ground pound attack, and so on was like taking me back when I'm playing with my original N64 controller, except differently since the N64 Controller had one analog stick in the middle bottom in weird design choice honestly. Nevertheless, it was still a good start.

Now if you we're thinking this will be my last topic review post for my YCCTEAM Controller, but I have other recording videos that I'll love to share for next month. So yeah, I'm still continuing this topic til I decided to finished. That being said, I did have good fun testing my controller; especially using through my first gaming progress of Super Mario 3D All-Stars that I promised to share for my upcoming posts soon.

You keep showering us with long, uber detailed fics like its nothing but how do you even write five words without breaking down? I could spend hours on my word document without accomplishing anything and thats the best case scenario. Seriously,,, HOW? How do you write?

Hello there! Sorry if it took me a while to answer this ask ;-; I tried to make this as detailed as I can, but honestly my brain is just mush the past few days and I’ve ran out of English words to explain things. So sorry if this all sounds rudimentary and uninspired (quite frankly, my writing process is exactly that).

also, not @ me procrastinating writing my thesis and instead making a post about my fic writing process otl

I’ll be using my latest hq!! fic as an example for each step! If you’re planning to read it, there’s nothing spoiler-y in the screenshots.

1. Outline - I make one just so I have a general idea of how the story will go. First, I need to think of a major problem that I have to fix as the story progresses, then I’ll look for a setting that will work well with showcasing/highlighting the conflict and its resolution. 

The specifics/bullet points change so frequently that the OG outline I made is v v different from how the actual story went. But I really need an outline before I do things so there’s something I can refer to if I get lost.

2. Research - I… can’t write without doing research ;-; I usually write about stuff I have little to no knowledge about, so this part is really important in my writing process. I learn so much from watching documentaries and scouring the internet for related articles so this is the most fun part for me! On my listography, I listed down the sites I frequently use for research. You can go check them out if you like!

3. Music - I make playlists for most of the long fics I write. I sometimes find listening to certain songs help me get in The Mood To Write.

4. More planning - I like to make schedules and checklists for academic work, so naturally it spilled over to writing long fics. I use Trello to create boards for a specific fic, which includes checklists that help me track my progress with writing and editing for each ~☆story arc ☆~.

5. Actual Writing - God, I really hate this part *sobs* Because of school, I wake up really early to write (like 4 or 5 am; 6 am if school starts later and I have time to prepare). I usually write for an hour, but the number of words I eke out varies. Sometimes I can finish one scene, other times I write nothing at all. 

I write in Evernote because its interface looks clean, and it enables me to write and edit fics on my phone. 60% of daemons!AU and 70% of penpals!AU I wrote using Evernote Mobile. I wish I was kidding. I also write my fics with html because it makes uploading on AO3 easier for me (and also because I don’t love myself).

6. Editing - I edit two to three times before sending the fic to my betas just so I won’t permanently incapacitate them with my purple prose and dubious comma placements. As supplements, I use Grammarly (I know a lot of writers hate this app, but I’m broke and terrible at basic grammar so I need it) and Hemingway.

7.  Beta Reading - I love my betas. I don’t deserve them. It goes without saying that I make a shit ton of mistakes while writing since I’m not a native speaker, I work on my phone a lot, and I write with my eyes half open and I’m jacked up on caffeine. My betas correct all my iffy preposition choices, they tell me why this scene is atrocious or this word is inappropriate, and they ask really helpful questions that give me ideas on how to navigate a certain plot point. I’m so thankful for all the work they do.

8. More Editing - Once I get the manuscript back, I’ll edit it three more times. I’ll upload a draft on AO3, download a pdf version and annotate it using my tablet. Then I’ll correct all the shitty parts I found in Evernote.

9.  Posting - It’s done. Finally. I’ll upload the final version on AO3 and do an obligatory promo post on twitter and tumblr. Then I sleep for hours and avoid the internet until it’s safe for me to show my face again.

So... that’s how I usually go about writing long fics. I guess the tl;dr is... writing long fics takes time? And it involves a lot of energy and people. It’s a fuckton of work. But, as an elaborate form of escapism, I really like sharing stories about people that live vastly different lives from mine, and whenever I feel insecure and bogged down I keep going back to that “why”. Writing stresses me out and gives me a lot of pain and heartache, but for the most part I find creating stuff fun. I also remind myself that it’s not my day job, so even if I make egregious mistakes, it’s not going to be the end of me or my career.

GIF Brewery is a Mac OS X application that lets you convert brief clips from your video files into GIFs. No longer must you extract frames from your movies and fiddle with layers in Adobe. Since updating to Big Sur Gif Brewery 3 stopped working and with the last update in 2019 it doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. I'm looking for an alternative that lets me import video, crop it and trim it however I like and export as gif.

GIF Brewery 3 is a rebuilt version of GIF Brewery that transitions to the latest OS X technologies. Since GIF Brewery 3 is a big behind-the-scene change, it has been released as a.

Back late 90s, there was a wonderful freeway app, GifBuilder, for OS 9. It was a quick and dirty way to to make gifs, allowing delays per frame. For all intents and purposes it was the best GIF app I had used.

Animated GIFs, like most early web trends, came and went. They made a mild resurgence with YTMND and Myspace in the mid 2000s.

Strangely with the perfect storm of memes, Reddit, and Tumblr we yet again, live in a GIF world. Why?

They work on practically every device imaginable They a have low CPU overhead despite large file sizes. Even low end cellphones can easily play them endlessly, and display multiple on a screen.

Nearly everyone accesses the web via broadband.

You can even text animated gifs between smart phones in SMS messages. (Try it on your iPhone or Android phone, anything post iOS 4 or Android 3.x should work).

Meet GIFBrewery

Unlike GifBuilder which exclusively was designed for frame by frame animation, GifBrewery focuses on video importing.

The work flow is exceptionally simple.

Open Video File.

Select range of video

Crop/Resize/Add Caption/Overlays

Edit the gif properties

Create GIF

For the most part the effects aren’t going to be terribly useful. You’re given Blur, Color Adjust, Color Effect, Sharpen, Halftone and Stylize, reminiscent of Photoshop as opposed to Instagram filters. All of these are an all-or-nothing affair, without any ability mask areas or set in and out points

Titles are basic. You can set in and out points, control your font face, size, color etc. You cannot animate them (fades or keyframes for animation). Fonts render cleanly, using anti-aliasing.

Properties - Where the action is

The GIF Properties works nicely, but lacks a few features that I’d like to see such as: manual color palette control, import/export of palettes and more adaptive palette options. Color increments are set in predetermined sets: 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 96, 128, 192 and 256.

While we are in an age where each byte isn’t as crucial, it doesn’t give power users full control.

Interestingly, GifBrewery does give you uber geek control over the dithering panel, its a true gift for codec nerds like myself to see the retroness of Floyd-Steinberg dithering. They get bonus points for making me google Stucki dithering

Frame rates can be determined by Frame Count/Delay or a frame rate setting which auto-calculates the frame rate. Frame Count/Delay allows you to determine the playback speed, hence speeding up or slowing down your graphic.

Sadly, you cannot set the delay on single frames other than the last frame.

Conclusion (What it is and what it is not)

GifBrewery isn’t GfiBuilder, it’s something entirely different. In the days of GifBuilder, to make a video clip into a gif required exporting a movie from Quicktime as individual frame files and dragging the mess into GifBuilder. It wasn’t clean or pretty. Once imported you couldn’t add any text nor could you do any effects. That said, you could easily make a several frame animation dragging in a series of images.

GifBrewery isn’t for creating pulsating banners or animated icons. It will not create a GIF from a series of images. Instead, its for converting video clips to GIFs, and doing it quickly. It does this exceptionally well. Even I have to admit, I probably wouldn’t be creating animations from series of images, but rather video.

I’d like to have the ability to reach into my converted animation and tweak individual frame delays, add/remove frames and have more direct color control, and import image batches but atlas it cannot.

At $5, GifBrewery is a steal. While it doesn’t do everything – what it does, it does it very well.

It focuses on moving existing video into a GIF, which is the most common use of GIFs today. Even non-technical users can jump in and start making GIFs. Its exceptionally easy to use, and fits nicely into my workflow.

To this day I still use gifbrewery, in my recent review of Cinemagraph Pro, I mention GifBrewery as my preferred option for creating gifs. I don’t use every day or even often as I don’t have much demand to create GIFs but when I do, GifBrewery is always there to do the job and delivery fantastic results.

When I looked at my tags page, there were 159 entries tagged ‘meme’ which I guess is because memes were what I used to say when I didn’t know what to say. In the early oughts, I wasn’t new to the internet, but I was new to the interactive version of it presented by LJ and its clones. In order to seem interesting, I did a *lot* of memes.

As I explored back in my journal, I found a lot of memes that are now defunct, but I wish were still functioning. Like the Friends Icons collage, which seemed to be a bit of code that gathered all your friends’ default icons into one picture. And Quizilla seems to be a Teen Nick site now. Other links looked extremely sketchy.

The promoters of Parler say parler is unique in the sense that it's a commenting platform that's not biased, promotes free speech and solidly focused on protecting users right.

They say that parler enables its users create their own community and enjoy contents and news in real time while applying moderation tools to filter contents, they say it empowers users to control their social media experience and be a verified member of the community.

Leon Rife, a parler user wrote this about parler on the internet;"Super easy to use, whipped right through registration page, so i can't understand how others seems to be having a problem with it. I've been using this app for about a month, as well as Twitter and really enjoy parler as the superior app for content and expression...great app and great platform.

Another parler user, Tom lane said the app is wonderful for open self expression, "if you're looking for a Twitter alternative, this is it..."

The oops about the app especially for Nigerian users is that unlike Twitter, Parler requires your valid means of identification for you to be verified, unverified users may have their experience limited as people who don't like what you posted or commented can label you as a robot which may earn you some unpalatable repercussions.

Can parler displace or even stand neck to neck with Twitter? Only time shall tell

Telegram doesn't accept advert and doesn't advertise itself anywhere, despite that, it has 500 million downloads as against whatsapp's 5 billion downloads on the Google play store. it is a 22.92 Mb app as against whatsapp's 23.81 Mb, people prefer smaller apps to larger ones as they strive to conserve space, hence, telegram's increasing popularity.Critics say that telegram's strict encryption fuels and supports the spread of terrorism.
