Mixed emotions about staticmoth; I am actually on the side of vox and velvette turning on Val tbh. I think a rapist/ sexual abuser is a much harder to accept or forgive evil and a whole different playing field compared to a prideful big brother is watching u type villain.
Vox is definitely meant to be charismatic, even kind of likeable despite being a villain - that’s owned to his va and his asshole businessman sensibleness compared with his over the top Alastor rivalry, it’s fun. He’s like ‘silly’. I’m not rooting for him but there’s some enjoyment in seeing his brand of evil.
Valentino is captivating and his va does a great job - even his design is really cool, but I feel dread more than anything especially when a scenes to do with Angel.
I think if these two were planned to be dating they shouldn’t have made Vox as likeable as he is - or Velvette either, who I find pretty hard to dislike either, shes mean but she serves.
Or maybe Vox and Velv should be more explicit enablers? Idk to me this kind of muddies the seriousness of Vals behvaiour. I think HH otherwise did a good job in showing Angel as a survivor and sex worker, but this not so much, though I know people will disagree and that’s fair too. This may come up next season, maybe Vox might be more vehemently supportive of Val even in front of Angel - though me personally I hope the opposite happens.

One thing I’ll never understand is the concept of ‘hate watching’ a show. Why are you watching something you don’t even like, then coming on the internet and complaining about how much you don’t like it in the tag that is supposed to be for content about that show?
If you don’t like something, don’t watch it or engage with it. Block the tag and move along, take your hater energy with you.
#this doesn’t apply to valid or thoughtful or constructive criticisms about a show!#i don’t even mind complaint posts about particular elements of a show#it’s just when people say they are hate watching or that they dislike the entire thing. why are you still engaging with it#why are you watching it then? go watch something you will enjoy#I’m just really annoyed when people complain endlessly in the tags about a show they don’t even like#this is not directed at anyone in particular ans can apply to any fandom or media#julia.txt

Okay. The thing is - we’ll never get everything from this show, we’ll never get to see everything play out. The conversations will always be fractioned and half. It’s a prime time network show that gives us 45 minutes of screen time each episode spread out between a whole cast of characters and plot lines and action sequences.
And my point with that is: Everything outside of what we see in canon is >us< filling in the blanks, interpreting and basically finishing the characters and the storylines.
If you dislike a character or storyline, a large amount of what you dislike will be of your own making. Which means that you created that negative take, only to be negative about it.
If a character isn’t giving all their background and reasons, or isn’t providing what you find to be a sufficient apology for what you believe is a ‘wrong doing’ then that’s you deciding that their reasons were bad instead of valid. You deciding to go ‘I hate this character bc they didn’t apologize’ instead of going ‘I trust that this character apologized but I hate that we didn’t get to see it’ or even ‘I hate that they wrote this character as not apologizing’.
And like. Just because I love these characters and this show or a certain storyline doesn’t mean I think we can’t be critical of it. And it doesn’t mean I expect everyone else to love anything or everything about it. And mostly with this negativity for negativity’s sake, it just makes me think ‘well people are weird’.
Because I literally don’t get watching a show you don’t like and then spending time posting about it using that show’s fandom tags, or painting a character in a bad light just so you can feel negative about it. I don’t get going for drama and negativity when you can go for joy. I get criticizing or even hating the writing, talking about writing that might be problematic, and not resonating with the way a storyline or a character is written, but I don’t get hating a Character that is, in fact, not real and can never be fully fleshed out in a show like this.
But the problem is also when these takes either:
1.) are meant for and created to deliberately reach into other people’s place of joy and create drama.
And, even more so, 2.) when they are racist, ableist, misogynistic in nature and thus are doing real harm to real people. Which, is in fact very much the case when TK is called a ‘twink’ and that term is meant as derogatory or his addiction is being used against him; when Carlos isn’t being emphasized with at all, and attempted to be understood for his reasons, feelings and actions, or isn’t allowed to have complicated, ‘negative’ emotions but is expected to be there to be TK’s ever perfect and present support rock; when Iris is being called words like crazy, or other derogatory terms and her illness or trauma isn’t acknowledged, or she’s being painted stereotypically and as an un-nuanced character bc of her mental illness.
And I don’t get it bc we literally see TK being strong for and supporting Carlos several times in canon. We see Carlos developing and working on his insecurities, educating himself on addiction to best be there for TK. We are told where those insecurities come from. We saw TK’s struggles with active addiction. We literally saw Carlos’ dad being shot in his own home wearing the tux he was supposed to wear as Carlos’ best man, just when their relationship and old wounds were on the mend, heard his mother, who watched it happen, scream down the line while on the phone with Carlos, who also heard it happen. We don’t see anybody but Carlos seeking justice, and we still see Carlos making an effort to spend quality time with TK and communicate openly with him. And we saw TK going to bed without his husband not for the first time, knowing that he’s in pain and that grief has previously let him to feel alone and to close up and end up in a dangerous and unhealthy place, where TK couldn’t reach him or help him. We know that there is past trauma and experience for TK that will make him recognize patterns and make him worry for both Carlos’ wellbeing, and for their marrriage.
And, we see them loving, caring for and forgiving each other through it all. We see a relationship with two people who are not always right, not always perfect, but who are doing the best they can and being by each other’s sides through that. We see nuanced and realistic conflicts with root in both of their trauma. [And loving one character and trusting their judgement but not trusting their love and evaluation of the other is just very difficult for me to understand.]
Everything apart from that, the thoughts, feelings and motivations we assign them, the moments, conversations and apologies we imagine or don’t imagine to have taken place, how two characters came from having a conflict to saying ‘I love you’/‘I forgive you’, or to being friends and dancing at a wedding, what lead characters to say “I’ll keep a light on”/“I feel like we’re starting to drift apart”/“we’re doing great”, what else they might have said, and what they might have felt in that situation, is stuff we make up and put into the story. And so it is up to us whether we try and understand and love these characters or whether we want to make them into bad people, and then hate them for it.

Vince McMahon Sabotaged Christian Cage's Career
In February 2009, Christian made his surprising return to WWE and debuted on the ECW brand. The moment was exciting for fans, as Christian had made a big name for himself during his nearly four-year stint with TNA Wrestling.
Some fans don't look back on the moment fondly though, as commentator Todd Grisham didn't have much enthusiasm in his voice for the return of a legend. As it turns out, Vince McMahon himself instructed Grisham to have a low demeanor about Christian's return to the company.
Right before I walked out of the Gorillia position before the show. Vince McMahon called me over and said, “When Christian walks out..don’t get excited at all simply say it’s Christian’ and that’s it. Understand me?” Me: “Yes sir”
Tony Khan responded to Grisham's post, calling the behavior insane.
In a recent interview, Kurt Angle stated that there isn't much difference between Vince McMahon and the character of 'Mr. McMahon'.
Reacting to a post criticizing his commentary on X, Grisham recalled the infamous moment. The former WWE personality detailed how McMahon ordered him to say those exact words when Christian returned. Grisham could do nothing but accept and follow his boss’ instructions. Over the years, this moment has become a running online joke.
For some reason, McMahon never saw Christian as a potential main-event talent in WWE. Therefore, Captain Charisma failed to reach similar heights as his best friend, Edge (Adam Copeland). Even after winning his first World Heavyweight Championship, the Canadian star ended up losing the belt in five days.
The story reignited the long-standing debate around McMahon's supposed dislike of Christian (rumors mentioned that Jay wasn't a yes-man and didn't want to be involved with any shenanigans backstage involving Vince and his bullying/harassment way).
The latter was once one-half of his most profitable tag-team stable with Edge. However, following their diversion into single competitors, the former 'Captain Charisma' was never treated as a prized asset.
Former WWE star Lance Storm confirmed the official WWE program incorrectly billed Christian at 5’ 10” when the man whose real name is William Reso is 3-4 inches taller.
McMahon's old WWE lead writer Alex Greenfield later revealed the billionaire once pitched to have Christian's face covered by a blue dot.
"Right before I started, there was a big show, I think it might have been in Toronto. Christian was just so completely over, and everybody thought he was going to get a push at, I think it was the World Heavyweight Championship at that point. We were on the plane one time shortly after I started, and Vince was just like 'God damn, I just don't like his face. His face really bothers me.'
"I was like, 'He's ugly, Vince?'
'No, it's not that he's ugly, it's just, I don't know, it's ratty!"
WWE executive Bruce Pritchard even waded in on the theory, by explaining McMahon was never a major fan. "[Vince] didn’t feel that [Christian] had the personality to connect with the audience in a big way. He didn’t think he was larger than life and at that time Vince wanted the top guys needed to be larger than life. You needed to be The Rock, needed to be Stone Cold, you needed to be Undertaker. Every time you would come up with an idea for Edge or Christian it would be like okay, there is a lot of excitement there with Edge."
"‘Oh by God, we could do this with him. We could do this with him, a big good-looking bastard and then we’d get to Christian and it would just be, ‘Ugh, God, do we have to shoot him? Do we have to see that face? The fuck’s he gonna say?!’"
Even after winning his first World Heavyweight Championship, Christian ended up losing the belt within five days.
He inducted long-term partner Edge into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012 but is conspicuous by his own absence from the list over a decade later. The veteran wasn't offered a new WWE contract following a separate return at the Royal Rumble in 2021.
He has since found a home in AEW under Tony Khan's leadership, who reacted to Grisham's story further in an additional post that read: "Christian Cage is the man."

When I see stuff like this I kinda want to bash my head into a wall:
To start off, I’m not sure whether this person was commenting on book or show Cersei, but honestly, it doesn’t even matter because she’s so much more than the ‘ambitious villain’ or the ‘murderous girlboss’ tropes in both the book and show.
(Of course, I do have my issues with the way Cersei was written in the show like most people but this is simply a rant post so I’m not going to go through the differences of Show vs Book Cersei)
Cersei is a female character who was shaped by her environment, who’s insecurities were created by her environment, and she’s a woman who’s idiotic mistakes can be traced back to how her environment shaped her. She’s much more than a murderous girlboss, she’s both a victim of the system and also a beneficiary of it, while also acting as an agent of it to keep the status quo while also desiring what the system denied her.
Cersei is NUANCED and complicated and even now people hate that about her and want her to have been a purely evil woman handcrafted in a vacuum, ignoring the context of her life because readers would rather not engage with Cersei’s victimhood and nuances because that ruins their idea of: She Was The Problem and Always The Problem. (People would rather say that she deserved her walk of shame instead of interacting meaningfully with the theme of systematic gender-based violence that is so prevalent in Cersei’s story. The exploration of patriarchal violence in Show Alicent’s story is done so horribly in comparison.)
And what really pissed me off about these tags is that this person has clearly decided that they don’t care to interact with the nuance of Cersei and are fine with flattening her, and yet they shit on others for not liking Alicent.
Because of the way Alicent is written in this show, she almost always has a ‘woe is me I can do no wrong’ attitude, which of course drives people away from the character (woe is me I deserve to take a child’s eye 🥺). However, what actually annoys me is how she’s made out to be stupid, foolish, ignorant, and inconsistent due to the horrible writing of this show, all of which are deviations from her book characterization. Also, I despise it when people want me to support writing decisions and changes made in adaptations that are downright misogynistic and are meant to attract the male gaze.
But what pisses many people, including myself, off is how the changes made negatively impacted many other characters. Alicent’s terrible characterization is like a black hole that distorts and warps the whole story! It’s annoying af!
So when people like this say: ‘She’s nuanced and people just can’t handle it 🙄;’ I say: No. She’s horribly written and a different character from the book and people have a right to be critical about these changes that stripped a female character of 1) her agency and 2) her intelligence!
And the thing is, there was little reason for the writers to have made all these changes to Alicent’s characterization! In the book she is an interesting character with clear motives and understandable reactions. She’s cunning and ambitious and acts the way a noble lady who became queen would. And despite her clear ambitions and dislike of Rhaenyra, she still makes a comment wondering about who would protect the Princess from Ser Criston, and yet she then takes Cole into her service after his falling out with Rhaenyra. That’s a perfect example of nuance! Show Alicent could never compare to book Alicent’s clear moral values and consistent disregard of said moral values in pursuit of power.
And because of this, Book Alicent isn’t easy to stomach. It’s hard for most people to come to terms with a character like her and it’s even harder for people to feel sympathetic for her at the end when she went mad with grief.
On the other hand, Show Alicent was designed in a way to garner pity, and when the writers felt like her current arc wouldn’t be enough to garner the specific reaction they wanted they would then throw in a time skip and suddenly she’s completely different and yet still Thee victim. She’s designed to be as sympathetic as fucking possible! The camera angles, the background music, and the lighting is set up in a way to make sure you the viewer feels pity or sympathy for her! Cause that’s her role in this series! She’s thee Ultimate Victim!
But too bad for the writers as many people are fed up with this kind of inconsistent writing. Even when the writers created a whole new challenge for Alicent where she’s shitted on by the green council and forced to face the beast she helped to raise, I and many others could never feel any satisfaction as it was clear that once again Alicent was being made to be Thee Ultimate Victim who was just led astray by the patriarchy and was a victim of it and was only just realizing it so don’t you pity her don’t you feel sad for her and now she’s trying to do the right thing so pls pls pls pity her 🥺~ So it shouldn’t be surprising that many people are annoyed by these eNLiGhtEnEd changes that have led to a complete deviation from the source material.
To summarize: Cersei is an excellent fucking character who’s by no means easy to stomach, and because she’s not easy to stomach she’s often reduced to annoying ass tropes by dumbasses who are reading above their comprehension level. But when you actually try to understand her, you can easily see why she turned out the way she did and you can feel sympathy for her while understanding that she’s both victim and perpetrator! On the other hand, Show Alicent is a mess and HOTD is trying to make her serve a different narrative role than she did in the books so ofc people are going to be unhappy with the changes as book readers are once again faced with the annoying reality that the writers don’t give a fuck about the source material.
#tbh i can’t believe im actually posting about this show again#but i got so angry by the way that these tags were worded#maybe the person didn’t mean to make it sound as tho cersei wasn’t nuanced to them#but reading between the lines kinda makes it seem as tho they were implying that#rant post#just annoyed af rn#alicent’s narrative role has changed and yes i’m very annoyed by that and that’s one of the reasons as to why i dropped hotd#cause wtf are they going to change next in order to be consistent with these changes?#unless hotd writers decide to once again change alicent’s whole ass character arc and make her seem even more fking wishy washy#bsffr alicent doesn’t come close to cerseis lvl of nuance#reducing cersei to Ambitious Villain is literally rage inducing#tbh it clearly shows that this person only appreciates certain kinds of female characters and can’t stomach badass girl bosses 🙄#not to say that GOTs writing was good lol it was shit but at least the female characters had consistent goals!#hotd fandom critical#anti alicent stans#anti alicent hightower#cersei lannister#the audacity to say that cersei doesn’t display real flaws and isn’t vulnerable#maybe i’m blowing this out of proportion and maybe im making a lot of assumptions but im struggling to care bc im so done with alicent stans#i’m real tired so i’m sorry about any grammar mistakes !#keep cersei’s name outa ur damn mouths 😡

NCIS: Hawai’i Renewal Demands - Actions to Take
Since many of us are unable to physically arrive and beat down the doors of CBS, here are a list of actions to be taken. I personally dislike the use of planes, billboards, etc - they’re a waste of money and resources in the current climate, and networks rarely care. Here are a list of direct-to-network actions to take that don’t involve any cost to fans.
1. Contact CBS directly through their feedback form, which you can find here. Select ‘Late Night’ and ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ when prompted. Within your message, be sure to include the following: why the show is important to you, steps you have taken as a direct result of the news (cancelling Paramount Plus, for example), and a demand for at least a final season. Syncing our demands is particularly important. I know it’s tempting to let all hell break loose, but ultimately, firm demands for at least one final season are significantly more effective.
2. Sign the petition. I know people have mixed feelings on the effectiveness of them, but we’ve hit over seven thousand signatures in less than twenty-four hours. That’s not nothing. You can find it here - please, please ask friends, relatives, whoever else to sign it, even if they aren’t an existing fan.
3. Continue to make a storm on Twitter/X. Use the hashtags #SaveNCISHawaii and #RenewNCISHawaii and tag @/CBS and @/CBSTVStudios in every tweet. Edit: to expand on this - simple retweets (and private account tweets) do not get counted in numbers. Please quote tweet publicly whenever you can and add those hashtags each time.
4. Flood their Instagram comments - whether the post itself is NCIS: Hawai’i related or not. Do not allow them to avoid our frustration.
5. Continue to amplify the articles and reviewers who have expressed surprise and disappointment. Ratings and critic reviews hold weight in which shows get renewed and which get cancelled. If SWAT could be revived, there’s no reason NCIS: Hawai’i can’t.
If more routes become available, I’ll reblog and add them here.

INFO POST
Name: Kylee (they/them). 30+
A totally normal Korean American mostly known for my drawings, specifically my Pokemon nuzlocke comics. But I will talk about other things on occasion because I do have periods of being fixated on certain topics. I also am a doctor!
Interests: Pokemon, League of Legends (everything except the game lmao), Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Animal Crossing, Mother series, Korean history/culture, character design
General FYIs:
General inquiries/commission work/etc should be sent thru kynimdraws [at] gmail [dot] com! Tumblr messaging/asks/etc is not 100% reliable
I will not follow NSFW accounts but I am fine talking/interacting with them. There may be suggestive shitposting but I like keeping my content on the SFW side
I am VERY picky about who I follow/interact with online. Fandom content in particular is a minefield for me aka I have many things I dislike and don’t want to see, even if it might be a popular thing in media that I otherwise enjoy. Therefore, I will unfollow/block/mute liberally. There are times I accidentally block a blog bc I mistake them for bots. So if you got hit with that, just send me an ask or email me
I am very open about what I like and dislike, and none of those things are a direct attack on your sensibilities. I have never gone out of my way to directly send hate or whatever have you if I end up seeing shit I don’t like. My complaints in my little online space ain't a personal attack on you.
My ask/submission box/DMs are open for criticisms if you have any issues you want to resolve in private. No one is perfect and I may have done ignorant shit that needs to be pointed out. I have deleted or edited posts in the past if people tell me what I did wrong. PS I get that some of my stuff may upset you, but try to act civil when pointing shit out please.
I try to tag all my things whenever I can. Again, send me a message if anything bothers you. I am all for good debate but if you send me excessive hate or threats bc I have different opinions about matters that are trivial, I will block/delete them.
If you wish to use any of my hcs, please credit me. And if you are comfortable with it, send me the works so I can check them out! Or @ me if that is easier.
---
FIRE EMBLEM FYI: Specifically for 3Houses/3Hopes because I need a separate one for this franchise specificially given how many crazy things I got due to being involved in this fanbase via my fanworks:
DO NOT try to convince me to like or tolerate Byleth/student ships, ESPECIALLY the ones with the lords (aka CIaude, Dimitri, EdeIgard). I already summarized why I don’t like FE3H Byleth ships with student chars here. While the spinoff game FEW3H has now removed that teacher/student problematic situation, the fandom keeps putting the FE3H elements into the FEW3H fanworks (i.e. remembering Byleth from “another life” trope)...so no thanks!! DO NOT SHOW ME IT!!!
As for the Byleth ships with faculty members, my response is here so don’t try to bait me about that topic either thanks.
I do not care whom you ingame S-support. 3Houses limits the dating-sim part of the game to that character, so I cannot care less about how you play the game. The main issue I have is when people treat Byleth the “character” as a legit ship material when I personally think they are a cool character ruined by fans who are too obsessed with badly executed self insert otome tropes bc they self-project super hard onto them. Just to be clear, any FE3H or FEW3H OC/Canon >>>>>>Byleth ships personally. Even Byleth-sonas that remove the teacher/student aspects are better than canon FE3H!Byleth
Please don't drag FE VA statements as some sort of “gotcha” on my opinions like this post here. IDC what other people prefer with ship shit, that’s their problem and not mine. I am not gonna bother them about it. So don’t bother ME about it.

I literally hate watching hotd only to go into the tags on here and see people just completely hate the whole show…like I have my own problems with it but I still enjoy watching the show and I already read and enjoyed the book so I don’t need them to stick completely to it (especially as it’s styled as a history book so they were never going to completely stick to it cause history books are 100% accurate even if they try to be and we know the maesters change things on purpose). If they are still making something that is entertaining to me I’ll stick around and watch. If I didn’t like it completely I’d just stop watching. You guys can just stop watching if you hate literally every single choice the writers have made and every choice the actors have made and so on (cause some of the choices you blame on the writers the actors have come out and said they actually wanted those things added). Just don’t watch it, watch something you do like or reread the book. I don’t mind seeing people dislike a show I watch and like or to genuinely critic it (something other than “it’s not like the book” would be preferred tho) but when all of your posts are just about you hating it and wishing it was book accurate I get annoyed because why are you wasting your time and now mine on a show you hate?

ᴘʟᴀʏɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜ ꜰɪʀᴇ, ᴘᴀʀᴛ ɪ (ꜱᴇʀɪᴇꜱ ʜᴇʀᴇ)
Summary: You are part of the biggest girl group on the planet, Eddie is the face of the biggest rock band of the century. A chance meeting at Coachella sends both of you into what would be the biggest love affair in music history; if only people knew about it.
Pairing: Rockstar!Eddie x K-Pop Idol!Reader
Author's note: My love for K-Pop and Stranger Things/Eddie Munson in one fic? It's more likely than you think. If you don't know much/anything about the K-Pop world, not to worry, I'll be going over some of it in this fic! I'll try to keep the Korean honorific names to a minimum but I do wanna try to keep things as plausible as possible.
Disclaimer: In this fic, I have specified that Reader is not Korean or Asian. As someone who is white; I didn't feel it was right to write a POC character. Please be respectful.
CW: 18+, mentions of unhealthy eating habits, obsessive fan behaviour, toxic work environments, swearing, a little NSFW content, sexting, no use of Y/N but Reader's stage name is Luna.
Tagging: @munsonsbtch @impmunson @binickmiller @ali-r3n @stevesjockstrap

APRIL 2019
Coachella was the biggest music festival in the world and playing there was an honour and a privilege; and while Eddie knew this, he found a lot of the hype around it insufferable. He never felt like his band belonged up there with the lights of Beyonce and Justin Bieber, even when Corroded Coffin had exploded with popularity, the larger venues they’d play out would never compare to the smaller shows.
Disliking Coachella when you perform there is one story, disliking Coachella and ending up in the crowd of one of the most talked about acts of the whole festival another matter entirely. But somehow, Gareth had convinced him to leave the tour bus to watch one performance. Only one.
“Why are we even here?” Eddie yelled into Gareth’s ear, trying to make sure he was heard over the screaming and cheering fans that surrounded them. The show hadn’t even started yet but the crowd was already at deafening levels.
“I thought it was high time you experienced a new genre of music,” Gareth yelled back, giving him a smug grin. “Plus, I hear one of the members of the group is a fan of ours.”
Eddie shrugged, knowing that Gareth was right in saying it was time to experience some new music outside of his usual comfort zone. And given the way the stage was set, the flags and lightsticks people were waving and demographic of the crowd; this was definitely outside of his comfort zone. “Who even are they?” he asked, grabbing his phone from his pocket.
Before he had a chance to type a single letter into Google, Gareth took his phone and pulled up a Wikipedia page for the group. “This is them. And before say anything, don’t judge the group before you listen to them.”
Eddie raised an eyebrow at his bandmate before looking at the page, giving Gareth even more of the side-eye.
Chain Reaction is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of members Yoohyeon, Luna, Dahyun, and Yuqi. The group debuted in August 2016 with the digital single “Whistle”.
“K-Pop? Really, Gareth?”
“I said not to judge!” Gareth shrugged, just as the music began starting, causing both of them to look up. Eddie’s ears were already beginning to ring from how loud the fans were screaming; he was used to hearing fans through his in-ear during shows, but this was on a whole other level. Eddie didn’t pay much attention until he noticed the cropped t-shirt on one of the members, recognising the design and logo.
His heart skipped a beat, his mouth dropping open as he looked at Gareth who took the words right out of his mouth, leaning over to shout directly into his ear. “Yup, that’s a Corroded Coffin shirt, she’s a massive fan.”
Eddie chuckled a little to himself, shouting back into Gareth’s ear. “Maybe this won’t be so bad.”
After a couple of songs, the group began their introduction, all speaking in perfect unison and bowing to the still screaming audience. “Hello, we are Chain Reaction!”
A girl with dyed dark blue hair spoke up first, clearly showing her leader position. “Hello, Coachella, my name is Yoohyeon and I’m so thankful you all came out to see us!”
The crowd screamed as a response, causing the group to laugh and clap long. Then you spoke up, your long blonde hair making you stand out against the other members. “Hello, everyone,” you began, and Eddie’s heart instantly melted at your soft voice, especially at your accent. “My name is Luna, and I hope you enjoy the show.” You bowed a little, pulling down your shirt a little to make sure it wasn’t exposing too much.
As the other members introduced themselves, Eddie could hardly focus on them, he was far too interested in staring at you. He vaguely knew Yuqi had natural dark brown hair and Dahyun had dark purple hair – the only way he knew he could remember to tell them apart, probably a move from their manager so people could tell the difference.
Gareth noticed him staring, giving him a nudge. “Somebody’s got a crush.”
He glared back. “I just think she’s cute, completely not my type.”
Gareth gave him the look of “yeah, we’ll see about that”, already knowing that Eddie would at least attempt to hook up with you after the show. It was inevitable, it happened at any event or show he attended. The only thing Eddie Munson loved more than music, was women. It was rare if his hotel room didn’t have a groupie in it; and being the biggest rock band in the world meant there was an abundance of them wherever they went, Eddie would always have one on his arm by the end of the night.
Although the idea of you and Eddie together was adorable – a rock legend and a pop princess together? You’d be media darlings – although Gareth knew it would be like playing with fire. The fans of both of your groups would rip both of you and the relationship apart, the constant invasion of privacy from fans and the press alike would be almost unbearable.
But that’s the downside to being a public figure and dating someone just as well-known as you are.
Eddie wasn’t known for long term dating, either. The longest relationship Gareth had ever seen him in was his “high school sweetheart”, Chrissy Cunningham, only ended up lasting less than a year. Every other girl he’d been with wouldn’t last longer than a few weeks, he’d always blame it on his career, but Gareth knew that in reality, Eddie just didn’t want to be tied down to one person.
You, on the other hand, had no public relationship history. Being a K-Pop idol left almost no time for dating or even much of a social life outside of groupmates; and if a female idol was seen with a male idol outside of activities, fans would go wild and instantly assume they’re dating and usually boycott the idols for “betraying” them.
Once the group finished their final song; the crowd screamed and cheered, causing almost every member to look as if they were ready to burst into tears of happiness. The four of you joined hands to bow towards the audience as a thank you before you spoke up. “Coachella, we have been Chain Reaction; thank you very much and goodnight!”
Eddie kept his eyes on you, almost unable to take his eyes off you. You gave one last smile to the crowd, waving as you turned to lock eyes with Eddie. Even through the pandemonium that surrounded both of you, it all seemed to dissolve as if you were the only ones there.
You had to be almost dragged off the stage by your bandmates otherwise you would’ve spent all night just staring at Eddie. But even while you were being dragged off stage, you were desperately trying to find Eddie’s eyes again. You hoped you would be able to properly talk to him, even if you had to do it behind your manager’s back.
Backstage, the staff were cheering and applauding you and the band, giving their congratulations, and offering fans and water. You sprinted towards Yoohyeon, wrapping your arms tightly around your senior. The pair of you hugged tightly as you both broke down in floods of tears.
“This is all we ever dreamed of, unnie,” you sobbed, taking a tissue from a staff member to dab at your eyes, being careful not to ruin your makeup. Yoohyeon took the tissue from you and began trying to stop your tears. “I’m so proud of you.”
Yoohyeon laughed through her own tears, not caring if they ruined her makeup. “I’m proud of us, we’ve worked so hard for this, and you were perfect.”
You laughed a little through your tears, turning to the other two members and motioning them to come over and join in a group hug. Although there was only about a month between the two of you; Yoohyeon was definitely the older sister and mother of the group, and you were the baby sister who needed looking after and a lot of hugs.
You’d always been extremely close, even since your trainee days. Every night, you would tell each other that you’d debut together, no matter how hard you’d have to train or what you had to sacrifice.
But every member had sacrificed so much even to just get past the first audition; you’d given up school, friends, family, any chance of a normal life for one tiny shot at making it. But in that moment, all four of you knew that all the blood, sweat and tears you’d all poured into training was worth it. You’d all made it.
Walking arm in arm with Yoohyeon, the pair of you walked down the stairs to the artists area away from the stage, always looking back every few moments to check your younger bandmates were following behind both of you. You tapped Yoohyeon’s arm to stop her to let your members catch up, so all four of you could give your manager, Steve a celebratory hug.
As soon as you stepped into the artists area and saw Steve, you couldn’t control the excitement and relief of the performance; you screamed and sprinted towards him, jumping into his arms, and barely giving him enough time to catch you. You got on well with Steve, he became like a big brother to you and your fellow band members, even if he was a little strict with the four of you, but it certainly came out of a place of love and wanting the best for all of you.
“You were amazing out there,” Steve hugged you tightly, pressing a kiss to the side of your head as he slowly let you down out of his arms and handed you a water bottle with a straw in the top.
“Think we won ‘em over, boss?” You asked, smirking as you placed the straw in the side of your lips.
“Won them over? You guys have done more than that, Twitter is exploding, you’re the top five trends on Naver, you guys are all anyone’s talking about,” Steve grinned.
“We’ve made it!” You shouted in unison with your band mates, before all of you laughed and hugged. Sure, Chain Reaction was very successful in South Korea, but this was a whole new level of success and recognition. All eyes were on your group and despite that new level of pressure, you all thrived under it; the challenge was exciting to all of you.
Your bandmates took their seats and chatted excitedly amongst themselves, while you leaned against the wall, taking in every moment around you. You hadn’t even realised you’d zoned out until Eddie was stood in front of you. “I know I’m beautiful, but you could at least take a picture if you’re gonna look that much,” he smirked.
You blinked a million times in a second, partly to snap yourself out of your zoned out state but also partly because you could hardly believe your eyes that Eddie Munson – the Eddie Munson – was stood in front of you. You’d been starstruck almost ever since you arrived in California several days beforehand, but this was on a whole other level.
The memories of listening to Corroded Coffin late at night during your trainee days flashed through your mind a million miles an hour, how much their lyrics kept you going when you thought you might quit and how you’d spend so much of your free time watching their performances, hooked on Eddie’s stage presence.
And now he was here in front of you, talking to you.
It was all so surreal.
You blinked again, clearing your throat. “Sorry, I completely zoned out.”
Eddie laughed, nodding his head. “Happens to a lot of people, did you wanna get out of here? Go somewhere a little quieter?”
You nodded and before you could even say a word, Eddie took your hand and led you out of the area and around the back of the crowds of staff and tents, towards Corroded Coffin’s tour bus. You somewhat wanted to protest but you weren’t about to stop this once in a lifetime chance to talk with Eddie, so you kept your mouth shut as he opened the door for you to get inside before following you inside.
“Don’t worry, everyone else is enjoying the festival, they’re not gonna be back for a while. Can I get you a drink?” He asked, moving past you towards a small fridge.
You bit your bottom lip as you walked through the bus, taking a seat at the table. “Just some water… or a Coke if you have it.”
“Lucky for you,” he pulled the fridge door open and pulled out a water bottle and a small can of Coke, placing both on the table before sitting down opposite you. “I have both.”
You smiled softly as you took both drinks, taking a long sip of the cold water. “I suppose I haven’t really introduced myself; everyone calls me Luna,” you held out your hand towards Eddie.
Instead of shaking it, he took it and pressed a kiss to the back of your hand. “And what’s the name your mother gave you? Not the name the company gave you.”
Blushing darkly, you whispered out your birth name. It had been so long since anyone had even asked your real name that “Luna” more or less became your real name. But Eddie seemed to actually want to get to know you, the kiss on the hand was just a cherry on top.
“Beautiful name,” he mused. “It suits you better than the crappy stage name they gave you. How’d you even allow it to happen?”
You laughed softly as you took your hand back, wrapping it around the Coke can. “I was sixteen and very naïve when I came to Korea.”
“You were only sixteen?”
You nodded. “I auditioned for the company when I was about sixteen and then I moved to South Korea a few months later, it all happened pretty fast when I look back at it. I debuted when I was twenty.”
He sat back in the chair. “Looks like we debuted at the same age, I was twenty when our first album came out.”
“I never realised that! I listened to you guys throughout my whole trainee period, it really helped keep the passion for music alive for me.”
He smiled softly. “Well I’m glad it helped at least one person, that’s all that matters honestly. So… tell me more about you.”
You smiled back at him, leaning forward in your chair to get closer to him, beginning to babble about yourself, all the while he just looked at you with such care in his eyes, hooked on your every word.
After almost an hour, talk got to your company and just how hard it was being an idol. “Under contract, we’re not allowed to; drive, buy a car, smoke, drink, date, go clubbing, get plastic surgery, get tattoos, travel for a holiday, write and produce our own music, have control over our own money or our image. We can’t even show our faces in vlogs our friends have made.”
He raised his eyebrows. “I’m pretty sure that’s slavery.”
You laughed, shaking your head. “Trust me, this is heaven compared to how contracts used to be.”
He chuckled a little, placing a hand over yours. “Listen, I should let you get back to your members or your manager might have my head, but could I get your number and we could do this again sometime?”
You smiled, nodding. “Of course.”

Best Underrated Anime Group D Round 4: God Troubles Me (Hanhua Riji) vs Happy Sugar Life
#D2: God Troubles Me (Hanhua Riji)
Prophecy girlie, hyper cellphone, and gamer cat get silly
#D3: Happy Sugar Life
Lots of traumatized minors messing each other up bad
Details and poll under the cut!
#D2: God Troubles Me (Hanhua Riji)
youtube
Summary:
Su Moting, the daughter of a god and a monster, is the supposed Chosen One set to fix the balance of the universe, but unfortunately, she’s just barely living as it is. Only just told of her great fate, Su Moting couldn’t care less as she juggles her social life, work, and her new duties (which she doesn’t take seriously). Alongside Moting are Star Tianji and Star Dikui, a god and a monster out to help our protagonist with her grand mission. They, too, are also struggling to figure out life on Earth, as Tianji is an immortal who doubles as the god of Su Moting’s personal cellphone and Dikui is a cat monster immortal more concerned with lazing about. Somehow, they make things work as the best worst roommates of all time.
Propaganda:
Four-season donghua (Chinese anime) that’s so recent and seeped in American pop-culture that I needed to do a double take when a literal cockroach said “Run, Forrest, run,” in English with a heavy Chinese accent. There’s a cat who plays video games (he’s very good at it), a phone who’s the worst kind of hype man, a sentient air conditioner, a guy who can shapeshift into any vehicle, off-brand Super-Man but jerky, a high-ranking god that collects anime figures, and the mega ultra cool protagonist who is a normal human girl fresh out of college and always low on money. It’s great
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty or Death, Child Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Flashing Lights, Racism, Self-Harm, Suicide.
All the TW’s above are done for comedic effect, but they come in fast and hard with the humor. Better safe than sorry! The biggest things I remember are one or two “blink and you’ll miss it” racist jokes, characters joking about killing themselves out of embarrassment (no one goes through with it), and there’s a LOT of self-harm via stupid decisions. Stupid things like tying a loose tooth to the back end of a sports car sort of stupid. The protagonists have 3 brain cells collectively.
#D3: Happy Sugar Life
youtube
Summary:
Satou Matsuzaka is a beautiful high schooler who has a reputation for being permissive with men. However, a chance encounter with a young girl named Shio Koube makes Satou realize that this is her first and only true feeling of love.
Telling others that she lives with her aunt, Satou secretly shares an apartment with Shio. Despite her innocent appearance, Satou is willing to do anything to protect her beloved, resorting to desperate measures to ensure that their “happy sugar life” remains intact.
Propaganda:
It is questionable, but in the way that the anime is meant to make you uncomfortable. It’s an uneasy psychological horror. You’re meant to dislike almost the entire cast, so you don’t know who to root for. Yes, the characters are fucked up, but it isn’t glorified as far as I can see.
It made my stomach churn, and I was sobbing at the end because that’s what it was trying to do.
I said it’s not good, meaning it’s not comfortable, and none of the characters are good. But it’s well-written and it’s interesting.
Trigger Warnings:
Child Abuse, Pedophilia (not graphic)
Murder/Violence (one brief scene is semi-violent, but most isn’t shown)
Kidnapping
Rape/Non-Con (not shown, but it’s obvious that it happened/explicitly stated)
Suicide

Why does it feel like we in the q!bbh fandom are constantly defending q!bbh from people who hate his character for no reason.
I say no reason because a majority of the time people make things up whole sale to get mad about or take the smallest action completely out of context to get mad about it. There are legitimate things about q!bbh that I can see turning people off from his character but those things are almost never part of the discourse.
It’s always: q!bbh doesn’t care about the eggs, q!bbh is the most evil person on the island and should be killed repeatedly, he and Leo have no relationship and she would dislike him, Dapper’s deserves a father that actually cares for him, etc etc etc
It’s honestly exhausting because all of these things are blatantly untrue and I have no idea how anyone could come to these conclusions even if they never watch a second of bbh. Q!bbb is the sole reasons no egg has died of neglect since Trump. Q!bbh is the sole reason many of the eggs have maxed out armor, auto feed set up so they are always at max health, and an XP backpack with hundreds of XP. Q!bbh is constantly going out of his way to help others the moment they ask regardless of his own plans.
There is a REASON q!bbh is the only character on quesadilla island with access to every egg’s safe room in and out of the Ninho. Q!bbh is the only character on the server who has an actual relationship with every single egg that goes beyond acquaintances. Ramon is Dapper’s bff and constantly hangs out with bbh and Dapper. Bbh has done Leo’s tasks more times than I can count and her last words before being kidnapped were “I love you”. Bbh has taken care of Tallulah and Chayanne too many time to count. It was only after talking to bbh about how she feels guilty about feeling like Philza is more her father than Wilbur that Tallulah asked Philza to adopt her. Pomme is literally his daughter. Richas has spent countless nights hanging out with bbh and Dapper (and Pomme) after his parents logged off. Bbh would literally burn the world for Dapper in a heart beat.
When bbh learned no other egg made it off the island in purgatory, he spent the last 15 minutes of his stream muted because he was crying irl. Q!bbh was literally killing himself after the eggs were kidnapped and is basically a walking corpse rn with a gapping hole in his head that’s been there for two months. He’s been having memory problems for over a month - this development with his short term memory loss is a natural progression of his preexisting condition!
PEOPLE PLEASE criticize his character for things he actually does. You don’t have to like every character - q!bbh is an annoying little menace! But don’t make shit up to get mad about I’m begging.
If you don’t like a character, then ignore them. There are several character on the qsmp that I absolutely despise and get annoyed when every they show up on stream but I doubt anyone following me could tell me which characters those are because I never talk about it! Especially not in the main tag! I think through purgatory - when my frustration was at its highest - I mentioned one of these characters once in the tags of a reblog.
Tldr: if you don’t like a character, ignore them. Don’t make shit up about them to get mad at. You’re just making urself look like an idiot and an asshole.
#qsmp#discourse#fandom critical#I’m so tired of this fandom#I never even look in the main tag anymore#I havent for months#but I still can’t escape the shitty discourse#I’m so tired#somehow stealing furniture is a worse crime than systematically murdering innocent workers#I will never understand why people are so passionate about hating q!bbh

Someone Worked Hard On This: Thoughts on Fandom Etiquette and Criticizing Problematic Fan Work
This is a very long post. There is a TLDR at the bottom.
I posted about a TikTok edit I had seen recently and mentioned another in the tags that was set to the Taylor Swift song “Timeless.” Someone replied that I shouldn’t talk that way about fan edits, because they take a lot of work and if I don’t like an edit I should just ignore it.
Here’s the thing. I cannot just forget about this edit because it was very well executed. And very hurtful. I have gone back and forth about whether or not to include the edit in this post, but I wouldn’t want to lead to some type of pile on on the creators TikTok page. Regardless, I think it is important to talk about how we balance current fandom etiquette with room for criticism and disagreement when fan creations perpetuate harmful ideas or tropes.
For some background about myself, I have been pretty heavily involved in fandom across a variety of fandoms and a variety of platforms for the last 15 years. Some fandoms are very self aware and open to critically evaluating the source material, other fandoms (Star Trek lmao) can be very obnoxiously up their own asses about their source material. Like everyone in the world, I come into fandom with all of my various identities and baggage, which inform how I engage with media and with the fandoms that come up around it. I write fic and I used to make a lot of edits, so I have some experience on the fan work creator end of things.
Back to The Edit, which is really just one example out of countless times someone in a fandom has created something that has intentionally or not harmed someone.
This edit took clips of Mulder and 1940s Scully interacting during the episode “Triangle” and set them to the following lyrics from the Taylor Swift song “Timeless.”
“even if we'd met
On a crowded street in 1944
And you were headed off to fight in the war
You still would've been mine
We would have been timeless.”
The edit then goes on to show clips from Season 9 showing the emails Mulder sends to Scully, set to lyrics about love letters. That part of the song is not the issue. It’s the lyrics about the 1940s that make me cringe.
I am not the first nor the last person to dislike those lines in the Taylor Swift song, as it shows a real trivialization of history. Taylor Swift isn’t unique in doing this. It is very common to see media created by white people, especially white people with pretty insulated and privileged lives, where the past is this beautiful transcendental playground, a beautiful oil painting to slide into for a few hours and not a place full of unimaginable suffering for anyone that wasn’t a super rich white man. In Swift’s song, World War II is the backdrop for her meet-cute, not one of the most bloody conflicts in human history, with a level of industrialized brutality worldwide that, if you really sit with it, is breathtaking.
One of the atrocities that comes to most people’s minds when you bring up the year 1944 is the Holocaust. The Holocaust is the topic most relevant to the problems I have with the edit, so that is the particular atrocity and insensitivity I as a Jew will be focusing on in this post. Of course, of course, there are many other historical atrocities experienced by other communities that are also routinely trivialized in fandom spaces and elsewhere. (The one that springs to mind for me immediately is the entire existence of plantation weddings, and those Interview with the Vampire cosplayers who got in major shit for creating content while on a tour at a plantation. To me, I find trivializing and romanticizing slavery and the suffering of Black enslaved people disgusting and I don’t support people who would do a wedding or cosplay at a place that should be a space for education and mourning.)
But forgive me for the purposes of this example if I focus on the Holocaust in the context of this edit. As stated, this problem isn’t unique to Taylor Swift so hopefully no Swifties come at me. The trivialization of World War II is also on peak display in the very X Files episode we are focusing on today— Season 6, Episode 3, “Triangle.”
In “Triangle,” Mulder goes looking for a ship lost in the Bermuda Triangle and winds up trapped in the 1940s on a cruise liner where Nazis are trying to find a scientist that is going to be essential for the development of the atomic bomb. This episode was an intentional homage to, of all things, the Alfred Hitchcock movie “Rope.” The movie is done in three shots and the episode is meant to look like it was shot in three shots, strategically edited to hide the edits. It’s a fun aesthetic goal, but it is just an aesthetic goal. It’s clear to me that the plot exists as a vehicle for the chance to edit an episode in that way. For me, the aesthetic choices a creator makes should forward the story they are setting out to tell, not the other way around. But “Triangle” is style over substance all the way down.
I have been talking at this point about the trivialization of World War II in the episode; now I will turn to the trivialization of the Holocaust. What most fans I have interacted with seem to see when they watch the episode is a fun time travel episode. I see a character that faces antisemitism on the regular, whose ambiguous Judaism (accused Judaism, more like) is frequently used to heighten the stakes in episodes like the one immediately prior to this one— “Drive.” I see that character played by a patrilineally Jewish actor, whose family left what is now Ukraine in 1918. I see someone who, had the twists of history twisted in a slightly different direction, would not have been born because of the Nazi villains that are beating the crap out of him in this episode. It takes privilege to not see that upon viewing this episode. But, I cannot blame people for missing it, because the episode was fundamentally written from a place that completely deracinates World War II, Nazis, and Jewish victims of Nazis. This all becomes the playground for the writers to have Mulder and Scully finally kiss. For me, the escapist fantasy doesn’t work because I cannot decontextualize the history.
This edit married the privileged escapist fantasy of “Triangle” with the privileged escapist fantasy of “Timeless.” In that way, and in the technical skill involved, it was truly a solid edit. But, the use of Duchovny, in both the fantasy of the edit and the fantasy of the episode, draws attention to the real world victims of the violence both pieces of media trivialize in ways that the creators likely did not intend. The privileged escapist fantasy then takes on additional bent, where it is not just the 1940s as the setting for a love story, but the 1940s as the setting for a Jewish person to be put in peril by literal Nazis. In my less charitable moments, I believe that is an unconscious feature—a fetishization— and not a bug for Carter and the fans alike.
This edit perpetuated the trivialization of World War II and the Holocaust present in both the source song and the source episode. What are we to do when fans create work that intentionally or not chooses to perpetuate something harmful? I do not think refusing to ever criticize something just because it was made by another fan and not the official creator is healthy. I say this all as someone who writes fanfic and used to do a lot of Star Trek fan edits and memes on TikTok. I understand the “gift economy” model of modern fandom, but some gifts should be criticized.
Where do we draw the line between criticizing something for being harmful and being nit picky towards people creating art in their free time? I don’t think it’s always an easy line. I’m not going to pretend I know the best way forward in every case. Refusing to give any room to criticism of fan works allows for shit from the source material to seep uncritically into what could be a community where we really transform the source material for the better. The general rule of thumb of not dragging down other fans is great, but it can easily be used to silence marginalized fans disagreeing with the fans from more dominant cultural groups.
TLDR— I watched an edit on TikTok that combined the worst parts of “Triangle” with the worst parts of “Timeless” and I think sometimes it’s healthy to dislike something another fan made. Taking the gift economy model to an extreme silences diverging points of view.

People will call anyone speaking about how tractors will call characters abusive and toxic when that is factually untrue. But rw/by is the only show I’ve seen where “fans” created their own community and group and tag dedicated only to shit on the show.
People who dislike elements in one piece don’t call themselves Half Pieces to shit on the show. Hardcore Naruto fans who hate Sakura or the Boruto spinoff or Sasuke or any long boring arcs of the show aren’t CALLING THEMSELVES a different name.
The “toxically positive” fans did not come up with RW/DE. They didn’t push them to make a whole subsection of fandom. I honestly don’t know how anyone can call themselves “a rw/de” but still claim to like the show. You don’t need to join a hate bandwagon in order to criticize the show. You’re allowed to block the Too Toxic Bee Shippers if they come onto your posts uninvited. People being upset that yet another person called Yang abusive when that is factually untrue did not bully that reactor. RW/DE talk shit about crwby all the fucking time. For ten years. But THATS not considered bullying??
If a reactor feels so negatively about one of the main characters, calls her abusive, then yeah people who like Yang and the bees won’t want to watch anymore. That’s like playing Luigi’s Mansion with someone who hates Luigi. I’m not going to engage with someone who thinks so lowly about a character I enjoy.
It too two years for volume nine to reach us. Rooster Teeth is dead. We have no new rwby news. Yet rw/de is still alive and well finding things to hate.
And here’s an honest thing. People are assholes. I don’t doubt there are bees fans who do go out of their way to join posts and server out of their lane. Because people do that. People who “like stuff the proper way” can still act shitty in fandom spaces. I think saying ALL fans of any ship or media act the same way is disingenuous. If someone is bullying that is not a ship problem that is a person problem.
Also. Blake and Yang are together in canon. Yes you can ship canon couples that just means you enjoy them. But saying Bee shippers ruin things like. It’s canon. It’s in the show. I mean I guess they think bees ruined the whole show so that logic tracks but. If a couple I hated became canon and it bothered me that much I would just drop the show
I still have trauma from show I can’t even name. You know where I talk about it? Not online every day years after it ended
However. Being able to block more ppl is good. It’s like weeding the garden
yeah

You’ve really put so succinctly why Dany is my favorite despite being a dark Dany believer. I love tragedy I love doom I love when the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Her arc has been set up so beautifully and her peacefully ascending and ruling happily is just something I don’t think George would ever write based on his criticism of Tolkien. George also clearly loves tragedy. It’s a shame that discussing Dany with any sense of nuance and analysis of George’s actual themes has to be classified as “anti dany.” She’s my favorite character! I’m not anti Dany in the slightest! Cersei is also a huge favorite of mine. But people are somehow able to handle nuance in Cersei (well, more than with Dany) and can acknowledge that she’s tragic and sympathetic despite also being despicable and doing unforgivable things
Thank you so much <3 I definitely agree Dany won't likely get a smooth-sailing happy ending on the iron throne. There are so many similarities in how the fandom treats Cersei and Dany! I think Cersei gets a lot more sympathy now than when the books/show started, but Dany discourse sort of devolved into she was always an evil tyrant who loved killing people vs she's the savior who can do no wrong and grrm will make her the god empress of the universe in ADOS after the show fumbled her arc so bad. The most innovative part of Dany's narrative on grrm's part is that we the audience will be more upset when Dany dies despite her, for lack of better phrasing, turning to the dark side. Usually authors who write "morally grey" characters do so in a way where they don't make the character do anything too bad so the audience will stop liking them, or they give a villain a few appealing qualities, while still having their actions be firmly rooted in the "bad" camp. If Dany does burn KL, that action alone puts her beyond redemption, yet we've followed her entire journey and seen the immense amount of good she's been capable of. Dany's death I think is supposed to be the climactic tragedy of the series, in which the most classic high fantasy trope of the good guy defeats the ultimate big bad guy and we all clap and cheer is turned on its head. Grrm does not reward violence, he does not justify revenge, and he makes a point of denying the audience the satisfaction of violence being inflicted onto any character, no matter how deserved we think it is. So even though Dany takes the narrative place of the final villain, her death will be somber and tragic rather than a victorious moment. Someone who tried so hard to be good but was ultimately corrupted the same as everyone else in the endless machine of war, fighting over a throne that everyone hated sitting on anyway.
The anti tag imo is meaningless 😅. It could mean literally anything from "I dislike how the writers handled this character's arc" or "I dont have a problem with the writing I just really hate this one fking character" and of course analysis of a character that paints them in a negative light (with the assumption it was done intentionally by the author) which goes against the popular interpretation of said character. I think Dany is a phenomenally written character, but a lot of her fans don't like the dark Dany theory (completely fair) so I tag it as anti for filtering ease.
#ty for the ask <3#anon ask#anti daenerys#< not really#targ nation can be so aggressive I think it soured a lot of people's enjoyment of Dany unfortunately
