just read a delightful OT3 story in another fandom involving hot baths and massages, and now I am directly yoinking a bunch of its beats so I can tell myself a bedtime story about Lisa and Kaeya bullying Jean into a hot bath and massages. 10/10, do recommend

#she comes back filthy and exhausted from a big battle #and lisa is like 'you're not getting in my bed in that state'#jean is confused. there was no previous discussion of getting in lisa's bed. this was supposed to be kaeya's date night #and now will inevitably be swallowed up by post-mission reports #(but she and kaeya can sneak in some late-night couch cuddles while reviewing everyone else's reports. so it's fine. really)#at which point lisa informs them both that they are having their date night in her bathroom #look at them. merely stepping into the office would create an hour's worth of work for noelle. add another hour for every item they touch #do they want to do that to noelle? of course not. how COULD they #at which point kaeya is pretty enthusiastically getting with the program. surely they can write their reports at lisa's. once they're clean #waiting to review all the others' reports until tomorrow will give them the chance to clean up first too. great for morale #(and obviously lisa will now be inviting herself along on the bathroom date. it's her tub #jean will just have to endure both of them loving on her at once. how terrible. whatever will she do)#...damnit. logging this for later to see if i can write the bath-and-massages without actually completely ripping off this other writer #anyway #jean has two hands and two aides: coincidence?

reading alison weir's new novel; she's adapted and altered the primary source material she's clearly using in a way that is...um. something?

#i mean it's a novel. and it is not called creative license for nothing #i also know im not the target audience and that #the vast majority of the people reading this book are not like me (insofar as i've #read what's available from the archives/state calendar papers from 1533-36...#probably. front to back altogether; chronologically; about a dozen times or so? taken detailed notes etc )#*so i doubt it's a bugbear for many; if any; other than myself #but i was very easily able to pick out the primary source quotes ; and her intent in #placing; for example; a quote from a chapuys report of 1536 in late 1533 #and switching the identities of certain people (here; norfolk subbed in for shelton ) for certain incidents #so as to bolster certain theories she clearly has about certain people and their loyalties...#i mean again it's a novel but this is what she does in her nonfiction too; she just has had more liberty to do so here #and there is a reason training in history is important to being labeled 'a historian'#you are to develop your theories from the evidence. not vice versa.#(or more specifically...she does literally the opposite of what historians are trained to do. she molds the evidence to fit her theories. )#anyway. review forthcoming...maybe #i'll have to read her author's note once i'm done with this section to see if she admits to any of these specific alterations #evidence first; theory after! otherwise we end up with all these superficial renderings

alright I asked for an update super politely (didn't bring up the fact that they're way past their own set turnaround time) so hopefully they respond and if not, I got scammed and I'm sending PayPal a request to give me my money back

#i really do think i got scammed. best case scenario im having an awful commissioning experience #i just still think its sus that its taking them both longer than their turnaround time + the fact that their sketch looked just like mine #like they changed a couple things but literally they could have just traced it and stolen the test of their comm promo artwork #if i have to get my money back through paypal im filing a report on the site i commed them through #i wish they had a review section so i could make sure no one else has to go through this with this artist #anyway hopefully they reply :) i would rather get my comm then my money back tbh if theyre actually a real artist #definitely not comming anyone on characterhub ever again though.

It’s only Wednesday and I’m already so fucking exhausted of this week

#being off work sick with covid has given me this huge backlog that is so difficult to break through #like there’s this one report that I would send for review and it would keep coming back with comments. it was my personal Sisyphus’ boulder #although thankfully it has finally been finalised today #but I’ve still more reports to work on tomorrow :(#I want a vacation. Thinking about how I got the project I wanted this year (yay) and my manager and coworker who was formally on the project were like "it's fine and not stressful except when you have to prepare the report for [president of company] and I just went "oh I don't care about that. That will be fine" and they both looked at me like i had grown a second head
