THE SILLIES EVER!! c!clingyduo are definitely two of my favourite dsmp characters i really need to draw benchtrio more i don't know why i don't, i draw tubbo tommy and ranboo just not together frequently enough. i must change that. i think i just don't have enough specific ideas to be able to put them on paper (/digital canvas) i need to draw silly beeduo stuff too,, RGRHEGHR SOON.

like not to get super real, but the portrayal of the trio's relationship is something ive agonized over for a long time, because keeping my audience is important to me. it does matter to me at the end of the day... but do i really want to cater to people who dont want to read the story i want to tell? no! and with drdi especially, i lose readers as it gets longer and THAT IS NOT A BAD THING!! it means i have this like... beautiful, dedicated, wonderful audience who wants to read this horribly (/affectionate) long piece of writing and who is more than likely happy to read it how i want to write it! so if im losing readers ultimately anyway, why the heck wouldnt i write it how i want?

drdi was started at the beginning of my realization of my aroace identity, and i really did have this like... specific view of a QPR at the time and thought that was all i was allowed because i didnt experience romantic/sexual attraction. but as time has gone on, ive been able to be in qprs and learn that no! theres nothing specific! you can kiss and date and have sex or you can do none of those or some of those and being aroace is such a broad thing! and by having multiple characters under that label i can write that !! and by god beeduo can kiss and still be aroace!!

ANYWAY sorry to go on two tangents, but im glad youve enjoyed the recent chapters, and dont worry, things will only continue in this direction!! and im happy you enjoyed the tubbo marriage moment because i nearly cut it for being out of place but then went "wait but i like it!"

You know what, that's true. I might be a little stuck in my DA days '3'

So essentially, the world has Giants and Tinies but Tinies are only viewed as pets by society. Ranboo is a tiny that's had really shit owners in the past. Most just saw him as something to toy with, one even ran experiments with him. He's eventually adopted by Tubbo who is better by a long shot. Tubbo doesn't 100% treat him like a person because he's not put much thought into it. Also Ranboo seems chill with most things he does after his trauma's are addressed.

Mostly Tubbo just got him as a companion to chill with but one he takes good care of. He let's Ranboo have whatever he asks for and slowly Ranboo does start actually asking. Tubbo is far from demeaning and Ranboo enjoys being around him. Everything is going pretty pog and Ranboo is content with his life.

At least until a little cake batter incident leaves him wondering about certain things 👀

Long post so I'm putting it under a readmore! :)

Okay so the obvious choice for a Dodie song that was literally written for c!Tubbo is Monster, which basically touches on his whole "loss of innocence" motif that is often represented by the growth of horns, which the song also uses as a symbol! (This is also one of my fave songs ever lol)

Don't Think Too Hard also has strong c!Tubbo vibes, it's basically a song about ignoring your feelings which is something c!Tubbo does a lot, and it also mentions like, regurgitating things you've heard from others which, like, c!Tubbo struggles with trying not to "become" any of the server's villains

The Way We Are is a song about moving on and getting older, which obviously is another theme present in c!Tubbo's story, it also literally uses his specific age like... This is why I say Dodie writes songs specifically for him lol

Guiltless is so!!!! It's SUCH a c!Tubbo song it's literally about trauma. "And I don't think I'd feel better if I opened your eyes / I'll carry your burden until the day that you die" is SO c!Tubbo it hurts. Like!!!

Burnt Out is another obvious c!Tubbo song, hiding emotions and all that, but what makes this one so significant is the "I am not cartoon" line. I feel like a lot of the time c!Tubbo sees himself as a sidekick or a comic relief in his own life, which this song hits on the head

Sick of Losing Soulmates is literally a c!clingyduo song, specifically disc finale era, it literally includes the line "What the hell would I be without you?" like... It's them. (/p ofc)

ANOTHER c!clingyduo song is Arms Unfolding, which has a super cool comic about it somewhere on Tumblr (/p again). This song is cool because the first time Tommy ever came to Snowchester he literally was asking Tubbo why he was running away and hiding, which Tubbo stubbornly denied

Honorable mentions include Rain, which is a song about finally letting yourself cry and scream when it's raining and no one can see your tears/hear the screams, and Ready Now, which I heard on my fave c!beeduo playlist and had a literal epiphany lmao. It's about helping someone find the words to describe their emotions and finally being ready to discuss trauma, which is the eventual ideal outcome for c!Beeduo's relationship.

At the end of the day, I just like Dodie a lot, but I also like the idea of c!Tubbo still liking music that's soft and sweet, and he could play a lot of the songs on ukulele. Okay this has been my propaganda post, ty for reading <3

I feel like, especially on the internet, fans feel obligated to defend and speak for their favorite cc, as if it's impossible for the cc to speak for themselves. As fans we have a better view of what the fandom really is like; we see all the worst bits and pieces, and we have a more insightful understanding of how it feels to be apart of a fandom, and not the focal point of one. Cc's don't always see what their fandom is truly like, which leads to cases like Dream's, where he's completely unaware of how his fandom treats minorities, and chooses to speak for his fandom when he has no idea what it really is like to be apart of that very environment.

Yesterday, Ranboo spoke about his boundaries through Ranmail, and twitters response was... weird. I'll speak about that later.

You can't separate yourself from a fandom while still claiming to be in the fandom, because from an outsiders perspective, we're all in the same boat. That being said, when a fandom is acting bat-shit, you're taking the blame as well. Ranboo spoke about how so many people see him as the pinnacle of 'unproblematic' cc's, since his 'twitter cancelation' record is practically squeaky clean. They use him as the default, saying "Oh, well this cc did *insert problematic thing* but Ranboo hasn't." and "Ranboo wouldn't do *insert problematic thing*". It sets both him and his fandom up when we pretend that he is on the moral high ground because he isn't as bad as the other cc's. Relating to this, speaking FOR Ranboo is just as bad. For example: Beeduo artists drawing them in a way that could be seen as 'too close for friends' and twitter goes wild, assuming the artist is the worst person in the world and that they sexualize minors. Ranboo likes the art, and retweets it on his art account. What's the problem? Easy, there is no problem. Twitter assumed that if Ranboo were to see the "disturbing" art, his head would explode and the world would stop spinning. Ranboo see's nothing wrong with the art, but instead sees his fanbase attacking an artist. What do you think his reaction would be?

Speaking for cc's damages how fans see their favorite content creator, because they're taking what other fans are ASSUMING the cc believes with far more than a grain of salt. The boundaries that the cc has placed begins to mix with what fans assume the cc also has boundaries for.

Twitters response to Ranboo coming forward with his boundaries was the basic game of blame shifting. No one wanted to speak about why he had to yet again discuss his boundaries, because they know that they're apart of the problem. They know that by speaking for Ranboo, they're breaking his boundaries. They know that it happens far too often, and they have no one else to put the blame onto. They can't blame the mcyt fandom as a whole, since Ranboo was specifically talking to HIS fandom. Now they're stuck, and I think that this is a rare case of a cc /actually/ seeing what their fandom truly is like.

In conclusion, we need to stop speaking for cc's! They are not children, and they can speak for themselves. Even if they don't fully understand the fandom they've created.

A Thingy About HWHBH!Beeduo’s Horses!

 Goodest of evenings/mornings/afternoons/nights/whenevers, my dear sweet readers. Today I has for you yet another behind the scenes type thing. This one is all about Obsidian and Chestnut, HWHBH!Beeduo’s horses whom were mentioned/introduced in chapter 67. Spoilers for that chapter if you aren’t caught up!

Now, let’s get to the horsies, yes?

First off, we have Mister Boo’s fine steed, Obsidian the Ebony Shire.

“Now Sunlit,” I hear you ask. “Just what the fuck is a shire? Ain’t that where the hobbits live?” And to that I say, “Yeah, But Not In This Case!”

A shire is a specific breed of horse! They are very big, very tall, very strong and very very pretty babies. Not to saw that other horses are not pretty! They are just extra pretty and insight in me some past-life’s leftover horse girl instincts. Here are a few photos of them in all their horsie glory.

As you can see, these lovely babies come in so many colors! All are good. They are all very pretty.

 Now, in regards to our sweetie pie Obsidian, it is important to note that he, much like his rider, is a certified Big Boi. Shires are the tallest horse breed In The Whole World, with most adult males averaging around 173 centimeters, which is around 5 feet in America Measurements. They big. VERY big. Some can even get to be around 7 foot! That’s almost a whole c!Ranboo!

 With this is mind, I am sure it is obvious why a shire was chosen to be HWHBH!Ranboo’s horsie pal! Healboo is a tall and lanky little critter(who isn’t so little at all), and so it only makes sense he’d need a proper hulk of a horse to ride on with any amount of ease. 

 For anyone curious, this pic right here is pretty close to how I see Obsidian in my head. He is so handsome. Just a darling little clipclop.

Did I mention that shires are fluffy? Or that they roll in the dirt like big puppies sometimes? Yeah. There’s something to pop into ye yonder search engine!

Moving right along to our boy Tubbo, his horse Chestnut is a Percheron breed! Here’s a few pics to get an idea of what they be!

Please do not ask me if that last pic is safe or not. I am not sure. The animals all look quite chill, so I am going to assume it was taken by professionals and that the puppers and horsie are simply friends whomst are Having A Time.

 Chestnut is a female Percheron. Most males tend to be about 64 to 68 inches, which according to this google measurement converting I’ve got pulled up is about the same as our shire buddies. They are both draft horse breeds bred for their size and strength, so this makes much sense, me should hopefully thunk.

 As you all may recall from chapter 67 itself, both Chestnut and Obsidian are the horses Beeduo use to assist with all the crops/farm efforts in Snowchester’s main town. They will often ride them out early-ish in the mornings to get to work with either towing the plows, tilling the dirt, sowing some seeds, or just general transportation of harvested goods that are hard to carry unless you’ve got a 1,900-2,100 pound animal helping you to do shit. They are both very popular with the townsfolk for this reason, and it is not an unusual to see a hoard of tiny little baby child run up so they can pet the horsies. This happens often. I imagine that Obsidian and Chestnut like to mess with folks by biting their sleeves or using their teeth to take their hats off of their heads, then sneakily swapping them out with somebody else’s hat, ensuring that both parties are deeply confused and that discourse is sown amongst the fall harvest. They are goobers, just like their owners.

 One little thing you all may have noticed from those pics is that our percheron friends here tend to have very long hair! Hair so long that oftentimes owners will just shave it off completely so it doesn’t get in their eyes and bother them anymore. This little quirk reminded me immediately of the very poggers c!Tubbo designs wherein he has his eyes covered to look at c!Ranboo, and while HWHBH!Tubbo doesn’t have to do this, the thought of his horse bearing resembence to that design made me very happy, so I figured giving him a breed that tends to have mane troubles would be very very fitting.

now that i’m a little more awake i’m just thinking about this and like. please take this all with a grain of salt because i’m fucking stupid and also, not sure if this 10000% makes sense in canon just, work with me here.

i think that c!beeduo both care about each other. and i’m going to talk about this in terms of a middle ground between a close friendship and a romantic relationship, because that is how i think of their dynamic most of the time. but yeah, i think they both care about each other. obviously. 

but i wonder, like. how their views on marriage specifically differ.

because i feel like to c!tubbo, marriage is just... a thing. some decision they made, and it doesn’t hold much weight to him. because he doesn’t sign his name as tubbo_beloved, and he still thinks of it as a tax cut marriage. you can tell just from looking at it that tubbo isn’t exactly the most familial sort, though i do think he’s pretty sentimental, and like initially that can sort of counteract the previous point.

but i think that’s because tubbo’s relationship with c!ranboo didn’t change with the marriage. because it was a spur of the moment decision, and, like, think about how things kind of work on this server. the two of them would have gone to save michael if they weren’t married, and the two of them would have stuck together if they weren’t married. their relationship didn’t fundamentally change, for tubbo at least, with that confirmation. 

that doesn’t mean that ranboo doesn’t matter to him. tubbo’s just more of a logical thinker than anything, and the technicalities of a marriage don’t matter to him. that doesn’t equate to ranboo.

but i think ranboo believes that those two ideas are the same. 

because ranboo, though i imagine he still had this care for tubbo pre-marriage, had those feelings almost heightened and solidified with the marriage. i mean, he’s very emotionally-driven, and he’s protective and loving to a fault. i think his urge to protect people no matter what is one of his most defining faults overall, and he’s a very flawed character but that one specifically stands out so much. ranboo still cared about tubbo before, but the idea of marriage means something. because it means a family, it means two husbands and a child and a house in a town and a cookie outpost and everything. 

this is one of the reasons i think that the argument of “tubbo doesn’t love ranboo” is kind of... just not... it just falls flat, you know? because i think it’s a pretty accurate statement to say “the beeduo marriage means more to ranboo than it does to tubbo”, but that’s not because tubbo doesn’t love ranboo! tubbo doesn’t love the marriage, but he can still love the person within it!

though i will note that i think tubbo still does like, care for the marriage in the sense of, he does look at ranboo as his husband. i mean, one of the earliest things he asked in their conversation yesterday is why ranboo hadn’t brought the marriage up. there’s no mental neglect of the marriage to tubbo; he just doesn’t see how it’s important. maybe doesn’t even think of how it could be used against them by wilbur/quackity, because to tubbo, the two of them being husbands looks the exact same as the two of them being best friends who love each other. 

anyway. i hope this makes sense. and i hope these two do talk it out, because there’s a lot of pain at the fact that i think ranboo genuinely thinks that tubbo’s indifference to this marriage means an indifference to ranboo, and that there’s a litany of sentiments that ranboo holds that tubbo is out of the loop for. and like, tubbo still holds some secrets from ranboo, but ranboo is holding a lot, lot, lot of secrets from tubbo. 

so i really hope they talk it out. because i do believe they still love each other. 

it’s just the context of the thing that’s the issue.

i've never listened to Friends At The Table (though it's on my list now, dnd campaigns podcast wooo!) what would the storyline of the crossover entail? with the HermitCraft characters i'm guessing it's chaotic and interesting 😊

:0!!!! :DDD!!!!!!! if u end up giving it a shot i hope u enjoy it! they dont actually play dnd, they play a bunch of other tabletop games which are all really neat also! (also if u need a suggestion for where to start if/when u get to it, feel free to drop me an ask)

the story follows the typical structure of "group is sent off to do tasks for money, and eventually realise something bigger is going on" so i am largely following the plot in that way, where groups of adventurers are sent out to investigate a series of towers that appear to have some connection to the gods of the world. ajhsjjejhfhjef most of my thoughts about the au are more character based,, so instead of a proper plot summary i can give details and thoughts on where some of the hermits fit into everything so far (while. trying to avoid the big twists revealed in the podcast ig,,?) i also ended up including some sleepybees (sbi + beeduo) in the au but im still not 100% sure on where they fit in (as in i have too many ideas djhdkndnj)

ANYWAY uhhhh some spoilers for the universe im basing this off of, under the cut cos it got long :'D

context/setting:

the specific arc/universe that this au is set in is the one from Seasons in Hieron (SiH) which is their fantasy season! (its. its long,, this arc spans i think. 3 seasons? plus a short interlude season)

the setting was previously a traditional fantasy world that had some sort of great catastrophe (the Erasure) happen, and the current world is after people have rebuilt a new society! its described as "post-fantasy, post-post-apocalyptic" its very fun and subversive and afhdjfbj the worldbuilding is just. real good :>

characters:

im still figuring out where different hermits fit into the au but i am basically taking aspects of various characters from the podcast and splitting roles and traits to hermits, so its all mixed up! also,, there are just. so many hermits,, i have not found places for all of them (not even most of them i dont think) but here is what i have so far:

impulse and zedaph work in the New Archives (a series of huge warehouse-like archives run by the orcs of this world!) impulse is an orc, zed is not! impulse works to retrieve artifacts for the archive, and zed,, hes just kinda there. learning and experimenting with pattern magic (a type of magic done by arranging and rearranging things in specific configurations, often they are obscure and weird things like "27 brown birds in a tree, 5 table legs, 500 buttons, 16 steps to the east" etc.) when the story finds them they are studying a fallen tower in the center of the Mark of the Erasure (a location still showing the effect of the great cataclysm that befell the world)

tango vaguely takes the role of Ephraim, prince of something or rather,,, idk man hes cool and has fire powers, very anime. his powers were a gift from the gods, and he goes on to hv close relations w them! he meets up with impulse and zed later on and become fast friends obviously

joe is an expert in pattern magic, and is on the run from the archives after having stolen a pretty nondescript notebook. its a nice notebook! hes just a human guy. he writes and recites poetry in order to do pattern magic using the notebook!

cleo hails from the city of *Nacre*, where people get multiple chances at life. people from there can get killed but will exist on as zombies, then if they are killed again, they exist as ghosts, and then they pass away fully. she is an undead pirate captain that joe somehow manages to sway over to their side ahjbhfbjf,, she is hunting down the lost prince/king of Nacre.

wels is a pala-din (pal-ah-deen, rather than paladin), a sort of living marble statue that serves one of the gods in the pantheon.

scar is ofc, a wizard! it. it should be noted that wizards dont really exist in this world, people who perform and study magic are mages, not wizards,, "wizard" is kind of a weird term to use sjbdbjhfjjhb scar takes place of The Great Fantasmo in the podcast, and similarly has an invisible assistant! he doesnt seem to remember much of his past...

cubfan works in Velas, a fishing town where the story "begins" he does not enjoy talking to scar, and seems to be sad whenever hes around. perhaps scar reminds him of someone, or perhaps of better times...

tfc hes a priest aagsuijdjhkdgjdkihwhjvd i swear theres a reason for this later,, the role of the npc alyosha is somewhat split between tfc and cub!

others i have thoughts on but im not settled on yet:

im debating having xisuma as part of the pantheon, but if not, he would be a druid so he can shapeshift into animals sjbakjnsnfjb he would take the general role of Fero in the story, but would also be kind of split with evil x, who captures... a certain stubbornness and deepset frustration Fero has in later times.

no matter whats up with them, ranboo takes the role of bluejay, redjacks son, meeting up with tubbo and tommy who take the place of benjamin, the son of one of the player characters. tubbo and tommy kind of. get sent to another dimension to keep them safe,,? and live in a lie for many years before they are brought back.

when i first thought about this au, i also thought about the whole. sending child off into fake dimension to live life, and of course. i thought about. grumbot ofc and originally planned to have mumbo or grian take the place of that player character abhdfvnbrvbn but it also implies one or both of them would be paladins (not pala-din! just the normal religious knight) AND have connections to tubbo and tommy which is. funny but ehhhh idk.

Sorry I already mentioned this in the last ask but forget everything I said and imagine the idea of the _beloved family during Christmas + tommy and Eryn. Everyone is still healing but they’re all together and happy, except for c!Eryn who’s vibing without trauma (to my knowledge of his character) and all of their gifts are extremely small and simple but extremely meaningful…

and since this blog is beeduo central: Ranboo gets tubbo a new ring to add onto his horn and he makes a display of flower crowns around it in the box he has it in and carefully wraps it with care and everything. And tubbo gets him a few enchantment books and flower-based teas and most importantly a star map replicating the constellations over the course of 6 months made from glowstone dust so that it lights up room dimly. And the reason why he made it for Ranboo was because they often spent their free time looking at the stars. And in the map the constillations that glow the brightest are ones that is specifically tied with a memory of them together. And on the back of the map, it explains all of this and even lists out the specific memories. And in a small corner is a small hand written note in Tubbo’s hand writing: “I’m not good with words often but I hope this helps you know that our memories are never truly forgotten or lost.”

19. Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to write about? Why? Ranboo and Techno are the easiest, just 'cause I'm most familiar w/ them fjjdkHFJD. This isn't to say they're easy to write but they come most easily I think

I am very unconfident abt writing characters unless I can replicate them in my head so I don't write fic abt not my hyperfixations:tm:; outta the characters I have attempted writing that I just find difficult I think I would say Tommy is the hardest for me. you don't understand how much i would prefer it (whatever It is) to be caused by cdream as opposed to an external force (ie. xd), just for keeping a cohesive narrative with good causality and shit, but also for the blorbo to finally, actually DO something for the first time in eight months (the upcoming lnv stream and daedalus arc don't count because that's 90% dream Reacting to others rather tahn pursuing his initiative from s1 +2) but and i mean this very respectfully. cdream Is hot shit and Has the revive book and Is pretty good at manipulating people, but unless he's struck a secret deal with Xd or planning a server wide doomsday 2.0, I don't think he's powerful enough to incite a 'world changing event' (especially when considering ccdream's genera addendum of 'dynamics and relationships changing', like cdream could Do that, but probably not on a mass-scale and in a way that revitalizes the entire server)

im incredibly glad we won't get a physical reset of the server, i would Not deal with that, that would be just Awful. i'm also trying to keep my expectations humble, most importantly because i really can't fathom what in god's name they could have planned to make everyone log onto the server again without changing anything about it physically. a collective memory wipe (maybe to a certain point in time, maybe to different points in time for different character, maybe every character is set back to the worst moment in their life and have to work from there <- not expectations just musing) i'm really a little brought empty on ideas. let's truly just hope that it isn't another soon or another oups we had to cancel an entire arc because one (1) cc didn't show up.

yeah, i guess ccwilbur is a pretty trustworthy cc most of the time, and 'I'm gonna miss c!wilbur' could just as well have been meant to say that he's gonna miss actively writing the characterand as i've said him saying that wilbur's still gonna hang around after finishing his lore was during a time when he still planned to do play the last arc entirely solo, so i don't how much plans might have changed since.

i dunno. i feel like with time i kind of got used to it, we already had it in the first big lore drought (the time when you first joined) and while i have a bunch of concerns about wilbur's storytelling (how is he going to satisfactorily tie up his story in One stream) i am comforted by the fact that atleast my guy gets an real, solid ending. because i don't know how your dash looks but on mine most anxiety centers around stories frizzling out entirely, being discarded or irreversibly changed due to cc negligence (for examplem when we still had hope that cranboo was going to continue his story but it was already. 5 months since he died and got stuck in limbo)

to be very honest, a lot of my hope for c!crimeboys relies on how unhinged cc!crimeboys are about their little ocs, yes they're going to literally throw them in hell but they're also gonna cry over a single scene with them in a fan animation. optimism everyone.

oh sure, cq Freaked out (and i cannot emphasize that enough) at the prospect of cdream being out of prison, he knew he'd fucked up, he knew he'd tortured a person fully capable of paying back every ounce of suffering and festering pain that he caused i don't know how much charlie dying impacted that because the ending of the last lnv stream really kind of showed him pretty much giving up on defense. that is not to say that i'm seeing him go down entirely without a fight, that is to say that i think there are going to be both stark differences as well as parallels between him and sam.

Yeah I think there's gonna be some extra limiting force to whatever it's gonna happen in his ending and I do think he meant actively writing the character and playing it more than anything else after all it will be different after the story is done I think that while the plans surely must have changed a little because of the sudden give me one more month bit with Eret they must have stayed pretty consistent throughout those bits or at least I think so because I was utterly convinced the Friend and XD bit had been completely abandoned and turns out it wasn't so I think he's pretty determined to do whatever he envisioned for his story occur

I don't think legacy was really a thing for his character before that specific stream now with the framework of legacy being important to him like we know now we can re contextualize some of his pasts actions with a consistent framework and that's kinda the thing with a lot of of the characters looking at for example c!Ranboo's first stream by itself is very different than c!Ranboo's first stream when you also know that he lacks memory that he plays defensive that he keeps all of his thoughts mostly to himself and that he doesn't like governments and then you can make a theme out of it but I really don't think most streams are done with the theme already in mind

So yeah that is a theme for him specifically I don't think most characters have themes and it's important to his story after knowing it so searching desperately for a theme before it seems counterproductive to me

My dash mostly just cares about c!Dream's plan but I guess that makes sense because beyond whatever his plan might be there's not a lot more to infere for him there's also no way for him to ever achieve a happy ending to call it something unless the Dream Team suddenly decide to accept each other again and he's able to get over his plan

I do rather appreacite the fact that at least for sure c!Wilbur will have an actual ending as painful as it is it's always for the best for all stories to have proper endings I also hope eventually the Dream SMP storyline as a whole will have a concrete ending tho I don't know how that would look like

Yeah same if I just didn't know who the actual people are I would just assume oh c!Wilbur is dead already and that's that but I know cc!Wilbur and cc!Tommy adore their story each other and the smp as a whole also something I think which same with the Ghost Quackity stuff is that if they were really going to do that they wouldn't make it so incredibly obvious months in advance and I also remember that cc!Wilbur said that what he liked the most was subverting the audience's expectations and doing something completely different that what people expect him to do and same happens with Quackity lore nobody is ever really able to predict it so I still think it's gonna be mostly fine at the end

Well the bunker itself still exists so I like to imagine maybe he just goes there because it's one of the few things that give him safety it's a reminder that he still has this nation even if no not really and a trustworthy competent builder like Foolish by his side and he has made himself a very bad enemy but he still has this layer of protection maybe he just goes there and thinks about Charlie and about why he can't seem to ever keep anybody he cares for close to him before long

He's for sure not going down without a fight but I think that initial spark of intense anger and fear that he might have had before Charlie's death is pretty extinguished by now

Oh my god the campfires thing that was one thing I really liked about that stream Tommy seeing the little bedrock statue by Drista and laughing and showing his little makeshift camp thingy because it's like one of the two things about that era of his life that aren't just a constant terror and sadness on him and Wilbur just deadpan going you should have used campfires like oh my God that guy he's something else

He really is so emotional is actually one of the traits I like the most about him just like that one time he just randomly happened to break some dirt underneath him and he felt all the guilt of the world at once that wet cat has a lot of emotions inside his heart (Also I watched that stream while writing the Dream Redemption Arc fic and i was so tempted to during that one fight scene they have just make him say I love you directly to Dream like he does on that one stream where he just openly goes yeah man I love Dream but I held back because the scene was getting too hardcore even for my Dreambur infested brain)

Well for the stone theory the main proof isn't that bit of the stream like at all the proof comes from other past streams which I suppose you do know because you know what it is that bit of the stream is just noted because it gives off the implication that they met and discussed something important in the past which could be tied up to the stone theory

I also personally don't really believe it's going to happen mostly because Ranboo already dropped off the planet and Wilbur only has one stream left and now we know that what Techno needed all those materials for was completely unrelated so now the only possibility for that to be explored is for it to just be said during staged duo lore but I still think it would be cool

Hello, It Is Galaxy who just finished the new chapter of Cough Syrup! In your own words, you described this chapter as, "a bit eh" and to that I say, what are you talking about??? It was AMAZING!!! What specifically? Several things! So you know it's time for Galaxy's barely organized essay of thoughts :D Tubbo's pov really shone in this chapter, oh my gosh. He focused so heavily on blaming himself, and it was so painful to read. Tubbo sees himself as personally responsible for literally being an orphan, for Schlatt being an alcoholic, and for being traumatized. He internalizes so much self-hatred, and despite the fact that for chapters in his pov we know what he's thinking, the way you write his thoughts and spirals comes off as so repressed. Honestly, it's amazing how well you've portrayed that, and Tubbo outright thinks all the worst things that could will happen to him and it still feels like he's holding so much of his pain back any way he can. He's such a tragic character in how much he cares about everyone in his life to the point where he puts all of their problems on his back like they're his responsibility. The idea of abuse cycles Tubbo fears continuing is so well written as to what abuse victims of all kinds worry about, and he's so certain about it, even when the mere fact that he worries he'll become abusive is a clear reason as to why he won't head down the same path. He's so suicidal in an inactive way, and that came through so clearly with how much death was mentioned here. Tubbo literally chooses to be apathetic out of his own paranoia for his "certain" future, and it's so heartbreaking. Even though this is a modern au that is canon divergent, your c!Tubbo feels so conclusive and messy in a way that matches brilliantly with dsmp!tubbo! Chapters in his pov are always so painful to read, and they never disappoint!

Is it time to talk about fruit salad? (/j) Anyway as always beeduo in this chapter were SO GAY. I literally wrote some variation of "GAY" in my notes for this chapter a total of 3 times, that was a fourth of my notes. Regardless these two are so hopeless and sad. In my own words, God you both are so emotionally empathetic and emotionally dumb as hell at the same time. How it's becoming harder and harder for Tubbo to be able not to have Ranboo in his life was subtle, but I kept thinking about it. He helps him through his grief, when he goes non-verbal, will outright take him anywhere he wants. And Tubbo not only thinks he doesn't deserve that, but thinks he'll die alone before that life with Ranboo could ever happen. It's so sad, and the longing is always portrayed so well. The fact that Ranboo is feeling (a little) more comfortable with physical touch involving Tubbo was so cute, and reminded me how touch starved I am. The scene in the car/school parking lot, god Ranboo is such a dork, the first part of the library scene, the park, and most importantly, Tubbo just getting Ranboo to talk because he loves the sound of his voice, were also such great moments! The love they have for each other is so real, and they both are still so clearly holding back, the imagery, the tone, it's all so well conveyed! And of course, my favorite beeduo lines in this chapter were easily, "Ranboo could read out every word of an encyclopedia and Tubbo would keep listening." and "You make everything better." (Honestly that whole driving to the park scene was just so great) SO GAY OH MA GOSH.

It is time for me to rant about Quackity and Tubbo's talk in this chapter. SO GOOD. JUST SO GOOD. Reading from the perspective of a child who would rather bare the responsibilities of an adult involving death over dealing with those feelings himself? Phenomenal. Reading Quackity desperately angry and trying to convince Tubbo that he isn't responsible for what happened and that he shouldn't have to think like that? Perfection. they care about each other so much, but they show it through anger, through yelling, and through the deliberate act of not sugarcoating anything. And it's so painful to know Tubbo's wrong, but to also know that Quackity doesn't have a single clue on how to help him understand that he isn't responsible. Also, the parallels that Tubbo was using with Ranboo and Quacity were so good, especially after their conversation in the last chapter. Their dynamic is always written in a way that makes me feel like the conversation is something that needs to be survived, and its wonderfully tragic.

Tommy and Tubbo. These two always hurt me in the smallest ways. Tubbo can read him so well, and prioritizes him in so many ways, willing to try to solve his problems himself, and not to ever burden Tommy with his own struggles. And here, the way you handled the talk they had about Dream was so well done. The fact that Tubbo would drop Ranboo in an instant if he knew Dream was a bad person just shows that cs!clingy duo are family in the most important ways. They are imperfect, but they care about each other, and at the same time keep their distance, but they're brothers; it's all so well done! I'm so excited to see how this will continue, and there are so many mysteries (involving the nature of both Fundy and Dream in particular) that I can't wait to see explored! My favorite quote in this chapter was easily, "Ranboo lets go of Tubbo’s hand and gives him a smile, and Tubbo doesn’t understand how Ranboo can stand looking at him as if he’s anything more than a catalyst for someone’s death." It was so raw and painful and oh my god get Tubbo a therapist, please. Your imagery and analogies never fail to blow me away! Well this is probably the longest one so far, oops! I hope you enjoyed my ramblings anyway. You never cease to impress me with your writing, and this chapter had so many good scenes. i already know that this ask is going to have me fucked up /pos i'm SO so happy to hear that the way i write him not only resembles the conflict that c!tubbo faces, but is also written in an accurate way. cycles of abuse are something that i've thought about a lot over my life because i think there's so much pain held within it, so i've always done my absolute best to portray it respectfully and i'm glad i've done well.

THEY ARE GAY!!! i'm so happy people liked the gay scenes in this chapter, and i'm incredibly excited for later chapters where they are a lot less sad and a lot more queer, it's going to be so fun seeing ppl's responses. anyway they DO love each other a lot you're so right and it's really fucking tragic at the minute, but i think their love isn't intertwined with tragedy rather just laying within it, and once they can move past the pain in their lives, they can pick up their love and take it with them :] here's hoping anyway!
