Analyzing the Skywheel Dates
Unable to wait patiently for the Ultimania releasing next month, I wanted to provide my own analysis of the Skywheel dates between Cloud/Tifa and Cloud/Aerith.
By analyzing Cloud's behavior on these two dates, which are explicitly more romantic than the other four, I aim to understand why the dates played out the way they did and what was going through the character's heads during them.
Tifa Date:
What sticks out in most player's minds during the date is the kiss Cloud gives Tifa while riding the Skywheel, and it's easy to see why! It's the first time Cloud has kissed a woman on screen, after all. But I have seen fans state that this proves Cloud likes Tifa more, and while I hate to get myself involved in any shipping war, I feel there is a more interesting conclusion we can draw based on the timeline of events throughout both remake games.
First, I want to direct you to this caption from the Remake Ultimania:
Tumblr media
When Cloud gives Tifa the flower, he wants to "Show off a youthful image of what he himself wants to be like"...
I think this caption is very important to helping us understand why Cloud was able to be so bold as to kiss the girl he was always too shy to befriend as a child. And I think it's linked to his new "ex-soldier persona."
See, the ex-soldier persona Cloud crafted is modeled after a person he admired and wanted to be like: Zack. Although making this new personality for himself was an unhealthy response to his trauma, I think there are good things to it, as well. For one, it allowed him to take action again and thereby begin his first steps towards recovery. In addition, it gives him courage to do things he never could before, such as strutting his stuff on the dance floor:
Tumblr media
I don't think it's too far of a stretch to say that this extends to him giving the flower to Tifa.
So this, in my mind, explains how Cloud had the courage to kiss Tifa and why some fans might think it felt a little sudden or out of character--it's because it almost is, in a way. But let me reiterate, I don't think that's a bad thing. I think Zack's influence on Cloud is somewhat natural and, frankly, having the courage to do the things you want and have fun is never a bad thing. I truly believe Cloud is exemplifying being Zack's "living legacy" by becoming more confident and outgoing. It's a good thing!!
And let's not ignore Tifa in this scene. Before the kiss, Tifa brings up that she feels she and Cloud have become closer, but frets that she's rushing to conclusions again. She's giving Cloud a clear opening to prove his feelings for her--and frankly, after all this build up? Giving the flower, all the tiny touches they've shared? Cloud is more than ready to prove it to her, and he does. It's so easy, and he does it the best way he knows how: with a kiss. In that moment, the boy became the man he's always aspired to be.
Aerith Date:
Conversely, the Aerith date isn't quite as simple--at least to me. It's hard to understand what's going on in their heads, and I think they comparatively have more obstacles in the way of their romance.
The biggest obstacle is that Aerith has seen through Cloud's persona, and almost calls him out on it during the date. She tells him she's looking for the real him, and that she wants to meet him someday.
I believe this stops Cloud, subconsciously. While the persona he built around Zack gives him more confidence, it's still a persona. It's not who he really is. By giving into that persona at all, he is not giving Aerith what she wants. Being confident and bold with Tifa was important, because she needed proof he liked her, but here? What's important is being the "real" Cloud, whoever that is. It must have stumped him.
Aerith gives him an easy out though: she asks Cloud to let her snuggle up against him until the ride ends. And that much, at least, Cloud can manage. And he goes even further than that when he interlaces their fingers together. I think this is his way of showing that he'll be there for Aerith--not just till the ride ends, but after. He's showing her that he does, in fact, care about her, and that her selfish request isn't as selfish as she thinks it is.
I also want to bring up the lyrics from No Promises to Keep here since I think they're extremely relevant to the Clerith relationship and the hand-holding symbolism seen throughout the game:
Till the day that we meet again At our place, just let me believe In the chance that you'll come Take my hand and never let me go Take my hand And believe We can be Together evermore
The hand holding symbolizes their shared desire to be "together evermore" and the belief that they will be. The interlocked fingers display a powerful, mutual bond that cannot be so easily severed. I think this imagery is both simple and extremely beautiful.
In summary, although they are not at a point in their relationship where they're ready to kiss yet, I believe this scene is meant to show that there is still possibility for their relationship to grow and get to that point.
.❀。• *₊°。 ❀°。• *₊°。 .❀
Thank you for reading till the end! I hope you enjoyed my thoughts. Feel free to use or reference this post if you found it resonated with your own interpretations of these scenes. And if you have your own interpretations to share, I would love to hear them!

My initial screaming thoughts on the Avatar the Last Air Bender live action remake on Netflix. Spoilers for eps 1-4 below, will watch 5-8 later today probably.
I want to hug this casting director and also ask them how they pulled the chacters straight out of the cartoon and made them real.
IROH IS SO GOOD OMG
Lol wow the dialogue is really leaving nothing up to the imagination. Exposition exposition exposition. Get why they are doing it this way but it gets reeeeeally clunky sometimes.
We must say the exact number of years that everything has happened and everyone's age
hope line in ep 1 is straight out of Ember Island Players
WOW THE BENDING
WOW THE FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY
The ostrich horses are chocobos and I am not taking any questions
😭 The airbender genocide is horrifying (as it should be)
Animals are a tad uncanny valley but I am okay with it
I appreciate that they kept so much of the original music even though it feels a little out of place for something live action
The tone is much more mature. The themes are different in a good way - they haven't changed much of what exists in the canon, just shifted focus. Adult side characters are getting more story. Stakes feel higher. Violence! Grittiness!
Firebenders are really fucking evil so they need to balance it with more morally gray/evil earthbenders and more upfront sympathy/development for Iroh and Zuko
This show could be enjoyable to someone who has never seen the cartoon before but it is definitely written for us, those who had our hearts broken by the movie
Sokka is not overtly sexist and honestly I'm okay with it. I like that arc for him in the animated tv show but with the tone of the live action, he couldn't just be funny sexist, he would have to be dark sexist and that just wouldn't be Sokka. Plus I like how they focus more on Sokka's sense of duty because it creates a good foil for Aang.
I was never really a big Sokka/Suki shipper but DAMN.
KYOSHI PLEASE STEP ON ME ALL I REALLY WANNA BE A GIANT WOMAN OMG THEY TOOK STUFF FROM THE BOOKS
I am getting more Zutara vibes rn than Katara/Aang idk
Okay they are condensing the plot but in really smart ways. We aren't losing much.
The set design. The costuming. SO PERFECT. Ohmashu looked great.
DANIEL PUDI AAAAHHHHHHHH
THE. CABBAGE. MERCHANT. 10/10 IT'S THE VOICEACTOR THEY CAST HIM IN THE LIVE ACTION
they mention secret tunnels. Are they gonna do it? Are they gonna keep it in?? YEEEESSSS FUCK YES OKAY THIS REMAKE IS AMAZING
I really like how they made the tunnels about sibling love tbh
Utkarsh Ambudkar disappears into the role of Bumi and it is SO GOOD
Me: *cries as Zuko comforts Iroh at Lu Ten's funeral* My husband: "Wait, listen to the music" Me: *listens* *lays down* *CRIES A LOT*
This show is very focused on showing what a 100 year war does to people and I think that was a good direction to take
Overall I am VERY happy with it. They understood the assignment, there is a ton of love for the show weaved into it, and I am excited to see more.

Controversial opinions possibly
It does not matter if Rapunzel is black, brown, Asian, or white.
It does not matter because Rapunzel, Belle, Ariel, Aurora- their race or ethnicity does not impact their story or their journey at all.
“You made Ariel black. So make Tiana white”
Yeah one of the dozen white princesses is how black so you need to even it out by making the first and only black princess white?
The princesses that their race/ethnicity is actually important to the story would be: Tiana, Jasmine, Mulan, Elsa and anna, Kida, Moana, Merida, Elena, Mirabel, Asha, Esmeralda.
Location, and their JOURNEY!
‘Rapunzel is German😫”
She’s Persian originally, she’s only German because the brothers Grimm are German.
It’s okay for little girls to put their hair in a Bun, wear a green dress, and carry a frog for Halloween even if they aren’t black.
It’s okay to wear a blue dress and braid your hair to be Elsa even if you aren’t white/and or Scandinavian.
That’s different from a film, for one.
And for two, kids are picking their favourite princess based off music, clothing, animals, the prince, the story etc
It does not matter.
It’s not like the white princesses are even GONE FOR GOOD!
People are so dramatic.
They’re not being erased. Jodie Benson’s Ariel still exists.
Mandy Moore’s Rapunzel still exits regardless of who gets casted as her in the live action remake.
And another thing I keep seeing
Why are we trying to cast Zendaya as Moana, Kida, and Tiana..?
All three?😅
I saw someone try to cast her as Esmeralda too
My vote for Tiana is Coco jones
As for the other three, haven’t thought about it too deeply. And Moana has already been cast for her live action adaptation.
People really really want Shay Mitchel as Pocahontas.
(And for some reason. Also zendaya. I love Zendaya but why😅)
Pocahontas is indigenous, Esmeralda is Romani, Moana (to my understanding is Polynesian but I’ve seen a lot of different takes) Kida is indigenous😅
(Don’t let me be the only one to think about that please)
Also I keep seeing fan makes of a live action Pocahontas.
Disney is turning over a new leaf and trying to be more inclusive.
If they were to remake Pocahontas. It would be in very bad taste😐
There actually is a live action but it’s still severely fictionalised and romanticised.
I didn’t know it was supposed to be Matoaka and John Smith until halfway through the film.
And one last thing
The argument of the stories being soooo different it’s not even the same!
I encourage you to Google the original stories. They’ll make you sick.
The only thing I was hoping they’d do with Snow White is make her older, and have a build up to a relationship and not some old man kissing a dead thirteen year old cuz she’s pretty.
And if you MUST have perfectly accurate characters. Watch OUAT, they’re all good. Anna specifically looked exactly like the cartoon.

Thess vs The Media Machine
There are three upcoming things that I just ... do not get.
Cruella 2: Yes, the movie that mostly only got talked about because it literally established Cruella de Ville's origin story as "Dalmatians killed my parents" and became a meme ... is getting a sequel. Why? How? I mean, I thought a Villain Origin Story Prequel for Cruella de Ville was stupid to begin with, riding on the coattails of Maleficent (who had a much more compelling origin story, thanks), but a sequel? Disney, if you have to give us Villain Origin Story Prequel Movies? GIVE US URSULA THE SEA WITCH FROM THE LITTLE MERMAID! Don't give us a sequel movie of the origin story of a woman whose sole motivation was supposed to be, "I want a spotted white fur coat and snow leopard's too expensive so I'll make it out of puppies".
How To Train Your Dragon Live Action Remake: Oh, come on. Half the beauty of that series was the character design. And you want to make it all just ... live action people? Do you have any concept of how boring that is by comparison? And I still don't get why. Like ... the movie's right there. I have it on DVD. It's still awesome. We don't need live action remakes of everything, for fuck's sake. Half the time, the live-action (or at least photo-realistic) version is just ... this soulless husk of the animated one. See for example ... Aladdin, The Jungle Book, The Lion King... (I'm not sure how I feel about The Little Mermaid but ... lemme put it this way. I don't care what colour skin Ariel's actress has, but if they make Ursula some slender waif, I'm going to be pissed. I mean, I get the issues involving villains being fat or otherwise conventionally unattractive, but the Ursula in the cartoon version owned her deal and made it ... frankly, sexy. So really, no, leave her fat and living her best life.)
Watchmen: The Animated Series: ...dear. Fucking. Gods. The Zach Snyder version was ... okay, but they really did tone Rorshach down. Like, a lot. But from what I saw of the trailer for the animated version? They put him as a centre-stage hero in the style of Batman. Did the jackasses who wrote the premise for this even read the comics? Sure, some guys decided that Rorshach was the GOAT from the comics, but they had a tendency to be ... well, in the same basic family of incel that Rorshach himself was as a character. That got whittled all the way down in the Snyder film, and now they've got Cartoon Rorshach acting like Batman. No one needs, wants, or asked for this. Alan Moore must be spinning in his grave. (No, I know he's not dead, but have you met Alan Moore? He's totally the type to sleep in his own grave.)
Gods, no wonder studio execs think they can replace writers with AI. So much of this seems to be entertainment by marketing committee while good shit gets cancelled Because Reasons. Though I guess they're at least somewhat less obvious about "Give us something that we can get a merch line out of" than they were in the 80s, because no one is getting a line of action figures out of Watchmen because there is only so far they can sanitise it. (I think. The trailer gives me some concerns in the "We animated just enough of the Zach Snyder film to get people watching and then just turned Rorshach into Batman" sort of way.)

Netflix's ATLA initial thoughts, ep 8: Legends
Honestly love Katara joining Aang in attacking the ships. I still wish he could waterbend too. Oh Sokka is here! Teamwork :')
Awkward CGI ftw. I had to mention it at least once.
Iroh giving Zuko advice makes more sense! That's the kind of thing I wanna see! That said, "Lu Ten woulda been proud" is not as strong as "You are like a son to me." Whack dialogue strike 74.
Bringing in the airship early is...a choice. And oh man Iroh, you will find out what job soon enough.
WHY HAVEN'T WE SEEN AANG WATERBEND
I GUESS WE'LL SEE ALL THESE WOMEN FIGHT INSTEAD I'M NOT CRYING
Sokka and Yuuue sitting in a...on an ice block
Master Katara seemingly as earned in this show as in the OG. Which is extra points against this show lmao you're supposed to improve upon the flaws you stupid remake!
Fucking fire sage traitor ass bitch. I don't mind the sages having this information; makes sense. I also like that the ocean and moon spirits appear rarely instead of BEING mortal. That is the kind of flaw improvement I like to see.
I don't love the super powerful being (Aang) seeing things others don't. It's giving hallucinations for plot purposes, which I hate.
Momo came here to nearly die, I see. I'll allow it. There's a push and pull (heh) between realism and fantasy and they are leaning toward realism. It works if Yue has powers and needs to save someone in an oasis that is not just a 10 by 10 island.
I love seeing the adults act. They're so believable lmao.
Katara Zuko fight! Lmao and Aang telling her to go easy on him. I wish that was earned.
"Yes. You're looking at her." PERIODT! I...wish that was earned.
Zhao wanting firelord is bullshit. Also how do you know which fish is the moon? Must... not... nitpick... final... episode.......
I will say Zhao's actor ate this whole season. He came to the Netflix buffet and had his fill and then some.
Color grading, I kiss you on the mouth.
So many water tribe warriors would have died in the wake of the death of the moon spirit. I'm glad they showed that. It hurts to watch but I didn't sign up for this live action remake to have my hand held.
I finally believe this kid as Aang and it took him about to go kaiju. Maybe because I couldn't see his eyes.
Speaking of kaiju!!! Fuck it up, kings! We BIG mad with the Avatar and ocean spirit!
He's a small man! Who's gonna meet a small end!!!
Okay. I love Azula in this. They made a good choice here. Actually no. They made many good choices here. They brought her forward a season and they made so many compelling choices with her character. Incredible.
Yeah keep throwing fireballs at a water kaiju you dumb fucks.
Sokka and Yuuue... and then just Sokka...
Katara, he can't hear you. Stfu.
I love seeing the aftermath except I don't. Fuck the aftermath. Have I not cried enough?
NOT THE GUY WITH THE DIMPLES
You don't! Have to be a warrior!!! To be a hero!!!!!!
A man needs his rest!!!!!! And a me needs their CRY
Chemistry between the trio in the literal last scene of them lmao.
Azula helping conquer Omashu? Under the shadow of the siege of the north? Brilliant.
NOT AZULA BEING A WEAK SACRIFICE.
Yeah what the FUCK is next, Azula?
G-give...me season 2? Now. I want it now.
More thoughts coming....well I have a lot of work the next few days but this will be front of mind anyway lol

Repentance
Clearly, God doesn't want us to shy away from our mistakes and wrong doings. It's natural to let fear and shame control us but we still have to be humble and admit our faults, that we're not perfect and we mess up. That's why we NEED Jesus and God's grace. Adam and Eve hid from Him, sinning was bad but then they chose to not even come to Him and separated themselves from Him. King David is famous for being the good shepherd boy, the guy who defeated all of Israel's enemies, and wrote Psalms. But he was still human who lost some battles with sin like sleeping with a married woman and fearing he would find out, had him killed. I suppose hiding our sins makes everything worse, because it's a prideful act, it's covering up sin with more sin.
I think to doubt God's Grace is to doubt His love. When you hurt someone you love, do you give up and not try to make it right? If so, then, do you really love them? You don't even care to mend your relationship with them. God gives us free will because He loves us and wants US to CHOOSE Him just as much as He chooses us. So, asking God for forgiveness and to help us not do it again is a really big thing to do.
God could have destroyed Adam and Eve soon after they sinned and remake humanity that won't bear the curse they brought, but He didn't, He had mercy on them and all of humanity ever since.
So, all you have to do is come to God with a regretful, sincere heart and admit where you took a wrong turn (it's a good learning opportunity for you too). And say you recognize now that it wasn't good, thus, rejecting your sinful actions (it's the first step to rejecting the ways of the world and following Jesus) and ask God for forgiveness and to help you be led by His Spirit away from sin and anything that doesn't please Him. He's faithful and just to forgive, He wants to fix our relationship too, in fact so badly that's why Jesus went through Hell so we wouldn't have to. Once you confess what you are guilty of, God will throw your sins into His bon fire and they'll be destroyed forever.
Tumblr media
He loves you and WANTS to forgive you if you'll let Him.
2 Samuel 14:14 (after King David's son Absalom killed his brother, Amnon):
All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.

netflix live action atla reaction
Ep 1
I don’t feel like the opening sequence actually added anything to the story. I mean, it gave the other nations some more agency I guess, but it doesn’t actually accomplish anything, at least not at first glance
Kyoshi voicing the opening is so random what the
I’ve heard criticism about the show starting with Aang and I agree, but I also think that the point of remakes is to give us different perspectives on the same story. I’m not a huge fan but I don’t hate it either
The bending looks so weird, not necessarily bad, just off
Idk how I feel about the southern water tribe seeming so much more built up, it kinda diminishes the first impression of what the war has done to them
Other people have already talked about them butchering Katara’s character so I’ll just say yeah and move on. Hopefully she’ll grow into herself and become more confident and proactive, but I guess we’ll see
Iroh don’t feel like Iroh tbh
Gran Gran reciting the og intro is painful, we already got this info three times in the past twenty minutes queen
Katara, kindly never liken your loss to Aang’s. You just met this kid who just found out everyone he’s ever known is dead, you don’t know him and you don’t know what he’s going through. You can empathize with his grief, but don’t act like it’s the same please
So far my expectation of “mid” has been holding true but the scenery is beautiful and the establishing shots are absolutely stunning
“Protect those who can’t protect themselves” ZANE NINJAGO?!????
Ayo Zuko kinda in character?!??? Who wudda thunk
“Let’s go save that weird kid” Yeah!!!! Sokka!!!!!!
Kick their ass Aang!!!!!
Ok but we’ve seen him fly without the glider several times now, why does he need it?
Ok, yeah, I’d kill for Sokka/Aang bromance
Ep 2
Iron’s saintly patience makes it’s debut lol
MOMO!!!! He’s so ugly I love him
If Gran Gran had the scroll the whole time, why did she only just now tell Katara about it? Her letter just says that it’s dangerous but the fire nation hasn’t come to their village in years
“But most importantly, you must have- sticky rice!” “Uncle, we don’t have time for this” oh, now we’re getting somewhere!!
This show is so stupid, I love it
Suki best character after four lines of dialogue real not clickbait????
Shirtless guy per episode: 2/2
Katara’s outfit is so pretty!!! My irl watched the show before me and said the costumes are good but feel like costumes and I second that but it’s fun seeing how they interpret the og outfits
Suki is playing with him and having too much fun with it, as am I
Aang being afraid of himself is such a good decision, really reminiscent of his reaction to burning Katara in original
Ewwww romance /hj
Obsessed with the discussion of what it’s like being a nonbender and the extra steps you have to take
Yeah ok, they’ve already done Suki better than the original
Kyoshi boutta throw hands with a twelve year old fr
Women win these
Dang, Sukka kinda cute
The cgi is decent but Momo not having a shadow is so distracting
Ep 3
That’s… that’s Azula…
A resistance??? Epic!! I’m sure everything will work out just fine for these kids
I’m so excited to see what they do with Azula
Don’t love Aang teaching Katara instead of the other way around
“What makes you think we’re outsiders?” *Katara and Sokka look pointedly at their bright blue clothes*
Teo my love!!!!!
The inventor’s actor looks so much like him, I didn’t realize he didn’t have a name in the original lol
Ewww stop hitting on her Jet istg
Ok stop, you’ve fundamentally misunderstood Jet as a character. He does not think he’s cool, he doesn’t give a shit. He thinks he’s right. He’s too angry to care about charming people. He’s a boy hardened by loss and war, he’s not a fuckboy for pete’s sake
I really like this take on Sokka: he’s smart as a whip but was born and raised to fight, he’s never had the opportunity to take himself or his ideas seriously
“We don’t need to be afraid of our pain, we just need to decide what we’re going to do with it” that’s the good stuff right there
However, it is not escaping my notice that Katara only improves when guys give her advice
The blasting jelly looks so stupid
Ep 4
Bumi time!!!! I really do wish Aang mentioned him earlier
It’s giving season 2 finale and I’m here for it
Ok I’m kinda into this, the way it’s folding aspects of different episodes of the original together is really making it a distinct story. Still against live action remakes on principle, but it’s at least doing something interesting.
Bumi my love!!!! He’s so silly and unhinged, I would die for him
Katara popping off!!!!!! Love her taking ownership of her power
I really like Bumi getting into how he’s seen all the devastation of the past century and that Aang doesn’t know what that’s like, his rage and pain is so important to me
Oma and Shu lesbians?!????? /vpos
I am so glad their getting into Iroh’s actions as a general, it hurts but it’s something I missed in the original
DAMN lil zuko deserves the world, man
THE ‘LEAVES FROM THE VINE’ MOTIF GOT TEARS IN MY EYES INSTANTLY, WHAT THE HELL???? Atla has me in a chokehold and always will tbh
I really like that we’re getting Sokka and Katara bonding in the cave of two lovers. Romance is OUT family is IN!!
Zuko is kinda crushing it
Platonic love for the win!!!!!
Katara is so quick with it!!!
Bumi getting the emotional confrontation he always deserved my beloved
Aang’s lil “is that really so bad?” I love him so much. The only way the world can heal is childlike hope and an unwillingness to sit back and accept tragedy
“Home? Everything I need is on this boat” AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ep 5
Sokka is a mess this episode, good for him
Heibai my beloved
This whole episode is so fascinating, I’m just along for the ride lol
Ep 6
Roku is so silly goofy and for what
June girlbossin’
Ew why she up in Iroh’s face???
Blue Spirit time baby!!!!!!
Zuko and Aang actual conversation time?????
The boys are bonding!!!!
What the fuck?! They made his scar less severe???? Zuko has a vision impairment, how dare you take that away
Zuko’s crew being the division he refused to sacrifice is everything, actually
Bro I thought there were only six episodes, if it ended there I would’ve lost it
Ep 7
Zhao SUCKS, man gleefully tried to murder a child
I knew the wolf was Yue
Making Yue a spiritual leader is a move I respect, idk how I feel about her being a waterbender now
I don’t know how I feel about Yue’s characterization, her personality feels weirdly unnatural
No one told Kuruk that friendship is magic ig
Kill that man Katara, you can and you should
Rare Aang L
“So no plan?” “… I’m working on it, uncle” love them
Sokka popping off!!
“Go kick his ass” how did I know he was gonna say that lmao
Did her hair fall down lol, that was so forced
Ep 8
I saw it coming but I like the other waterbending women getting a role
General Katara my beloved, I don’t see people putting her in leadership positions post-war very often but she deserves it, she’s a great leader
Don’t think I like the moon and ocean spirits only visiting, feels like an odd and unnecessary change to make
THEY KILLED MOMO?!!??!!? WHAT THE FUCK?!????!??!!!!
Nvm he’s fine
Aang telling Katara to go easy on Zuko!!!!
We’re really ending the season without Aang waterbending a single time lol
Conclusion
It was enjoyable!! Not great but pretty good!!! It starts slow but once it gets going it does some really interesting stuff. I’m not a fan of all the changes they made, but a few of them are ones I’m very glad are there. The effects are decent but whoever is doing the fake beards needs to be fired. Definitely some choices made that I don’t like regarding some of the characters (specifically Katara and Iroh) but it overall is distinct enough from the original to be a worthwhile watch and also pretty fun

DIVINE HUMAN REMAKING ~ DF NOW
The Respect and Honour of A DF
The weight it carries ~ test this for 1 week and then go within and seek out new levels of self love, self appreciation, and self honour - as a tribe, we must set new self loving knowing of our capabilities after eons of imprints, social mud, and lower vibrational non-existence for who we are in our creative collective make-up.
Whatever situation you are in and are moving through - how may you pull out of whatever is most in front of you - the red flags, the intuition yelling at you - to change and face and move through - not denying, not suppressing but know you are strong enough to let go of and remake. ©
DF our work, our world, our word, our speech, our actions what we intend is so powerful on this planet - who are you
All are unique and this was a part of your #calgary lessons -
I was unique and not like you - I was an easy target - so learn it
I will not return
Nor do I declare any of you my friends - nothing has been offered given freely without a conditions and looking for something out of it - I have received literally nothing but pain, suffering, damage - and a lot of loss. I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSONS and thank you for the soul lessons - I don't love any of the past - I have done my healing - I no longer need validation or permission, or any's acceptance - I love who I am exactly and I am so happy of all my uniqueness -
Tumblr media
The past will not be my future
The past people, ex, persons, are not going to be in my new life - all must go away and heal, and level up, and clear up karma and choices of degrading life-styles and why manipulation, deceit, lies, paying people off, nefarious activities and forcing energy, binding work daily, is a 'thing' that seems ok
~ ~ these are highly insecure tactics, not facing who any truly are, and hiding behind false masks, businesses, and fronts to appear one way and entirely not behind the doors; while degrading the only truth in the entire community and running her out of town due to stalking, spying, and blocking abundance, blocking people, and living like a slave ~
As long as I did not say anything - all was good - no thank you  It takes years to heal from what I barely escaped -
Tumblr media
THE PAST WILL NOT RETURN -  I do not need a 2 yrs late apology of half truth and half stories so you can feel better - it will mean nothing to me. I said NO 1 billion times, do healing light work daily, for all involved to get on track and heal - do the inner work;
I am not anyones saviour nor will I walk and take any's karma and I will not rebuild what I only gave light to -
I will not be taken advantage again nor placed in a home, with all the 'stuff' and live like a caged harvesting light post for the entire poly coven to suck the life out of me - while still not doing the work and not caring who they hurt. I cut my losses 2 yrs and left and I will keep leaving -
There has be not 1 penny repaid - same story, same messages, same warning spirit gives and shows the same level of consciousness and I will not waste my life in such - I am highly advanced being and will not be eaten alive by those that simply don't give a fuck unless there is money and stuff to go with their games of spells and manipulation -  ©
Forgiveness to all -  I gave all more than they know  I showed, I offered, I gave so much light and the lessons were to choose new, and choose new ways to go within and reconnect with the higher self and be loved, be loving and do the inner work to not be followers of sick people that only want to herd and manipulate and use you -
youtube
I will not give another ounce -
Time was up 2 yrs ago - all know that
My work has not been returned, there is not 1 penny returned and none have sent an apology via email, or my lawyer - and all know the contact details - it is common human sense and none have done 1 ounce of redemption - therefore my life, my damage and my souls wasting timelines, energy, light, the time I could have helped others that do care -
None 'get' any of the damage they have done - therefore - ©
I WILL NEVER SAY YES to go back to what I barely made it out of -
I have learned and honoured all karmic lessons
I choose me I choose me  I choose me
I love myself
That is who I have fallen in love with - it is me.
Self love is keep moving and keep going - never look back and if all want something bad enough they will turn to God and sort out their lack of self issues, woundings, and there over 600 videos on our channel alone to help -
This week - they still sent spell work, they still put their sick degrading words into the air in hopes I would take that on and be it -
I will not engage and I will not play - it is the same sick game of intimidation to break you and make you run back for more abuse - it is deep psychological abuse training -
youtube
love is not manipulative
love is not deceitful
love is overpowering and filled with magic to get your way
love is not persuasive to intend one thing and twist to get another
love is not forceful and boastful and selfish
love is not prideful and arrogant to be better and win over others
love is unconditional and it begins within - how you treat yourself want for yourself and knowing you need nothing outside of you -
love is no co-dependent -
I WILL ALWAYS say NO and spirit, ancestors, God will have no more - and why I am protected - DF should not have to say NO and explain in 1 million different ways why NO MEANS NO I don't love any of the past - the love was lost in all the spell work, and the torturous human testing that many knew and did 0 about and 0 repayment and continued fighting for every right I have - not 1 stepped up and brought truth -
I will not lower my vibration to be in any way involved and their games continue to try anything and everything to keep me bound, staying in their games with false narratives and lies, and spell work - games with those that they might get to play along and pull me back in - ©
NO MEANS NO
youtube
Heal your community - you #calgary all broke it - your community needs to redeem you - you all brought so much harm and darkness there -
I need nothing but what was stolen -
Still my accounts sit at 0 - so you can tell where they conscience is at - and has been for years.
NO WILL ALWAYS BE NO - learn the soul lessons and if you love yourself you would never ever ever treat any the way I was treated - basic human and common sense -
When all have made the improvements and shown to themselves they are their own answer - I will be open to discussions of assisting in what ways I may be able - until then, and it will take time, self love, and self compassion - all must show they are enough to do the work - just as the heavens asks of me -
I now ask of you - you must know of your own self love and choose for you -
I will not interfere in the most powerful lessons all have to know GOD is all you need - how to seek IT and how to surrender to IT
Friends don't try to block, bring them down, and bring them into submission or less than, and joke, laugh, and prey upon them - it was literally a horrible horrible experience - I felt it all - ©
Sit in, feel what has been created from years years of manipulated life, spell work, and intentions - all get to choose - so choose anew.
You would believe someone you have known for 30yrs over a false spiritualist that is nothing but a con and thief.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwpec...
All is forgiven,
Move on
Grow up
Get healed
youtube
Damage was done beyond what any know and nor seem to care - Our levels of honouring life are on completely different vibrations and I will not waste any more of my life. LEAVE ME BE -
Blessings and light

Goodbye + a few words for the road
(Edited to add: The blog will still be semi-active (mostly inactive) as the founding mod is still around. Thank you Mod Salt for taking over and being an amazing force for fandom positivity these past few years ~ Mod Saltiest)
Hey folks, this blog has been inactive for a while now as my life has been very busy and my interests have changed, so here's me offering official closure at least.
First of all: It has been a fun few years chatting, having debates, inspiring and helping each other out around our shared passion for fanfiction. I really enjoyed this form of interaction and was often moved, amused and empowered by our exchanges. I look back to this entire time with you with a fond smile. Thank you for your kindness, patience and enthusiasm.
And since i'm here, i want to use my reach one last time to share some personal thoughts - please indulge me, i won't bore you.
What is it about writing fanfiction that feels so empowering to so many of us?
When i was a child and young teenager i experienced stories as something closed-off, unchangeable, a product of great minds that, yes, i could and did vicariously enjoy, but of which i was forever the passive recipient. I was allowed in the fantastical playground of a storyteller's mind, but i was there as a guest, i could look but not play. I wasn't even aware playing was an option.
But with fanfiction ... somehow my entire perspective on storytelling changed. My relationship to stories moved away from mere consumption to a desire to make it different, to make it mine. Suddenly there was a space for my previously vague, unformed ideas, and an incentive to explore them.
Confronted with polished, glossy professional stories, I now saw possibilities. What if this character fell in love with the same gender, experienced trivial domestic bliss, came to grip with their childhood trauma? And i could make this possibilities reality through my own writing, bend the narrative to cater to my taste and interests. I was an active participant in the process of creating reality through words. And sure, the product was rough, awkward, mediocre at times - but it was mine, it held something of me. And sometimes it entertained and thrilled and moved readers from all over the world that happened to stumble upon it.
Online communities allowed me to realize that we can reach others, relate to each other, move others, that our voices are unique and interesting, if only we care to speak. A pen, a laptop, and we can make as much fucking sandcastles as we want to, tell the stories we want to tell, that are ours to tell. No one can do that in our place.
And if you've nodded along to this trail of thought; if you agree with this logic and can relate to that feeling of empowerment; then i want you to understand that this can be applied to all aspects of life.
This dreadful, gray concrete wall on your street that fills you with gloom? Why endure its depressing sight when you can grab a spray can and remake it into something colorful and joyful, reshape that wall into something you actually care to look at and that may bring others joy too.
Rewrite that story.
The wasteland next to your neighborhood that's currently hosting weed and trash and that the municipality doesn't want to take care of? Why accept it as it is, if you can envision better possibilities? A shovel, a wheelbarrow, some seeds, a few helping hands, the internet to guide you, and you have the first steps to an urban garden beloved by bees, butterflies and birds, and providing fresh fruit and vegs to you and your neighbors.
Sandcastle, build that fucking sandcastle.
Your workplace where everyone is treated like shit and your rights are threatened? Are you going to accept the narrative that things have to be that way? That there's nothing you can do, except maybe vote? What's to stop you from reshaping your workplace so it caters to your needs? Colleagues at your back, help from the union, and you can bargain for better work conditions, modify the entire workplace. No one is going to do that for you.
Transform the narrative.
The local coal mine that is tearing through the earth to dig up tons upon tons of fossil combustible, actively threatening all life on earth? Can you really accept that as a given, as something no one has might on, except maybe some remote politician? Or can you join a group fighting for climate justice and block the shit out of that mine so it's forced to stop the destruction?
Redesign the entire game.
The step from writing fanfiction to blocking a coal mine may seem far-fetched, but at its core it's a matter of how we interact with the world we live in. See how it all ties into each other? How once you've noticed you have the power to actively reshape things around you, whether stories or your real-life environment, you realize that everything can be changed, and that everything probably must be changed, too?
Listen.
Friends, hard times are ahead. Times have been hard for a lot of us for a long while now. With the climate crisis upon us and world governments eager to maintain this deadly status-quo of economic growth and environmental destruction no matter the costs, it's up to us to take action, fight the powers in place and change the lives we lead. We can't rely on politicians, we can't rely on big business, we can't rely on someone more smart and capable to emerge and fix things. No one's gonna come. We have to start where we stand, teach each other and ourselves what to do, and get shit done.
It will be difficult, and it will be tough and it will be scary, but we have each other, we have this wonderful medium that allows us to find each other all over the planet, hear each other's voices and organize on an unprecedented scale. We are creative, and numerous and bold, and we will be reckoned with. Because help won't come from above, and we have to stop waiting, hoping and campaigning for it. Let's invest our energy where it really matters, and that's not a mere cross on a ballot every few years.
Being an active participant in the fight for a better life, no matter how harrowing that might sometimes be, is so much better than enduring crisis after crisis with only the dishonest voices of the powerful to lead you through them. And the crises will come. Covid is only the start. You will not be forever able to keep your head down and abide the rules, not if you want to maintain your personal integrity. I repeat: keeping your head down will not be an option forever. So why not choose to act of your own impulse?
Friends, change is coming and there will be choices to face sooner or later. Questions that will demand answers. Can I accept the status quo? Can I accept the dominant narrative? Can I accept indignities and injustice, carried out against me or sometimes in my name? Can I accept the climate crisis and environmental destruction taking place under my nose?
Talk to your friends. Find your answers. Find the drive for change.
Friends, the world is yours to shape. The story is yours to tell. Be aware of your own power, and use it for good.
Friends, be brave. The time is now. Good luck on your way.
Love,
Salt

under the mistletoe, watching the fire glow day 13: princess
Character A’s little sibling/child wants to meet their favorite celebrity/writer/person for Christmas. Character B is said “Christmas Present” ,, percabeth. for that one anon
Percy can honestly say that he didn’t think this would end up happening.
When he had sent her a message, it had been done absentmindedly, fully expecting it to be ignored. He’s well aware that celebrities don’t respond to people like him, but it was Christmas, Estelle was on his last nerve, and he figured that he could at least try.
Somehow, all of that ends with him meeting up with a super hot Hollywood actress.
As Percy holds Estelle’s hand, who can’t stop bouncing excitedly, he thinks back to that moment. Estelle’s dramatic cry of meeting the princess in the live action remake of Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses had gotten to the point that he decided he was done and took things into his own hands.
It went something like him sending her, hey so my little sister is being annoying about the barbie movie and won’t shut up so can you come meet her so I can get a moment of peace?
When she responded, yeah sure when and where, he thinks he may have had a heart attack. It was surreal, setting up a mini meet and greet through instagram dms of all things, but it worked well enough because here he was, looking out for Annabeth.
“Where’s the princess!” Estelle demands, and Percy wants to bang his head into a wall. She’s practically screaming, and she’s pulling on his arm so arm that it may fall off.
“I don’t know,” he tells her.
“Find her.”
“Estelle. I don’t know where she is. Relax.”
“I want to see her now!” Estelle is only five years old so it’s understandable that she’s so annoying. Percy loves his baby sister dearly, but sometimes he questions why is mother had a baby so many years after him.
“The movie isn’t even that good. She wasn’t even a convincing princess.”
Estelle stomps. “Yes she is!”
Percy snorts. “Yeah, okay.”
It’s then that he feels hot breath on his ear, and he freezes, well aware that he’s just made a very dire mistake.
“Not a convincing princess?” someone whispers into his ear, a hint of humor in their voice. “You offend me.”
Percy whips around, and of course, there she is in all her glory.
He finds Annabeth Chase staring at him with eyes that look much more vibrant in person. She looks small and shy, and Percy thinks she would be the perfect person to hug in the cold.
He thinks she sure looks like a princess with the way her hair falls in old ringlets down her back, and her eyes shimmer in the sunlight. She’s not even dressed as a princess right now, but he could have been fooled.
“I didn’t mean—”
“Sure you didn’t.” Annabeth tightens her coat around herself, clearly cold, and she leans down to say hello to his sister. “You must be Estelle!”
Estelle gives her a wide grin, and Percy doesn’t think he’s ever seen her so happy before. “I am!”
“You look like a princess,” Annabeth tells her, bopping her on the nose gently. “You could be one of my sisters!”
Estelle’s eyes go wide. “You think so?”
“Of course I do, silly,” and wow, even her voice is elegant. Percy’s starting to think that maybe she really is a princess. He considers bowing to her.
“My brother says he’s your friend and that’s how he got you here,” she says, crossing her arms. Percy shoots his sister a look as she continues saying, “Is that true? My brother is a loser so I think he’s lying.”
“You don’t think your brother is cool?”
“Not to be friends with you,” Estelle says proudly.
“But I think he’s super cool! You’re super lucky to have him as a brother.”
Percy can see the change in Estelle’s demeanor having just got told that her brother is cool. Percy knows full and well that she’s about to suck up to him because her idol told her to, and that’s what children do. It makes him want to stick his tongue out at her as though saying told you so, and he would have if Annabeth wasn’t standing right there to see it.
“I’m kidding,” Estelle swears. “I play with him all the time,” which is a blatant lie.
When Estelle is no longer looking, Annabeth gives him a wink and mouths you’re welcome. Percy feels his face turn red because despite not loving the Barbie movie, he’s still all over everything else she’s been in, which is a lot. She’s practically royalty, and she’s talking to him. He’s breathing the same air as her.
At some point, they migrate over to a set of chairs outside the park they’re in. It’s pretty cold with the snow falling around them, but Estelle is vibrating with excitement to the point that he wouldn’t be surprised if she generated her own heat. Percy sits to the side, letting his sister have her moment. As entranced as he feels by the celebrity sitting in front of him, he knows that he probably shouldn’t show it, risking further teasing from both parties.
Annabeth’s super kind, he learns quickly. She laughs with her whole being and brightens up the room with her smile. She tells amazing stories about the fantasy, and Estelle listens intently. She’s so young that she doesn’t entirely realize that she’s not a real princess, and it warms Percy’s heart.
(And from the look Annabeth gives him, it warms hers too.)
It feels like hours that they’re sitting there before Percy decides they’ve had enough. As pleasant as Annabeth’s been for his sanity, he knows she’s probably getting tired herself.
“I think it’s time to say goodbye, Stella.”
And, of course, this cues the meltdown.
“No.”
Percy sighs. “We need to go home soon.”
“I don’t want to.”
Percy’s temper is beginning to shorten again, and he can tense the temper tantrum that’s about to occur. It’s just a question of which sibling is going to start it at this point.
“We can’t leave Princess Genevieve here without a way to get home!”
Percy almost laughs in his little sister’s face because Annabeth is not a Genevieve by any means. Genevieve is a ridiculous name for a princess anyways. Annabeth is much nicer for a princess. “I’m sure Princess Genevieve has her own ride home.”
“This is why you don’t have a girlfriend!” Estelle loudly blurts. “You never offer girls rides home!”
Annabeth chokes on air, and Percy considers jumping into the Hudson river and swimming away.
“I don’t want a girlfriend anyways, so good,” he says, tugging her hand into his.
“If you were a nice person, then maybe Princess Genevieve would’ve been your girlfriend.”
“They don’t date peasants like us. Come on.”
“Can we please take her home?” Estelle asks.
Percy sighs, dropping her hand. “Ask her yourself.”
He genuinely expects Annabeth to say no, so when his sister walks right on up to Annabeth and stares up at her, he is blatantly shocked as she says, “I would love to.”
It becomes very obvious that Percy ends up losing the fight against a five-year-old as he’s driving the car with Annabeth in the passenger seat and Estelle in her car seat in the back. Estelle’s continuously asking questions, and Percy is somewhat mortified because as time went on, Estelle gets more and more daring with what she asks.
Everything is mainly along the lines of having a boyfriend and pointed coughs in Percy’s direction. Each time, Annabeth would give him a knowing smile and he’d do everything to look anywhere but at her.
Percy can’t be thankful enough when they make it to his mom’s apartment, and he gets to kick Estelle out of the car. She gives a heartfelt goodbye to Annabeth and a glare at Percy before she’s out the door. It leaves him and Annabeth alone in the car, a silence settling between them.
They’ve been together for at least a couple of hours, but they haven’t truly interacted until now, so he’s at a loss as to what to do. It’s as though he’s blacked out during the last few hours, and maybe even the last few weeks, because last he remembers, he was just sitting on the couch doing nothing, and now Annabeth Chase is sitting in his car, looking at him expectantly.
Finally, she says, “Are you going to look at me, or…”
Percy turns his head like a deer in headlights. “I’m sorry.”
“You look like you’re about to pass out.”
“I might. This is kind of weird.”
“What is?”
“Having you in my car.”
“Why?”
“You’re a celebrity.”
She smirks at him. “Do I intimidate you?”
“Uh, yes.”
“Well, don’t be intimidated.”
“I’m sorry, but you’re very famous. I will be intimidated, and you will let me be.”
“I mean, I get that, but there’s really no reason to be intimidated. The other day, I walked past a mirror and actually got excited to meet a celebrity.”
“What? You just forgot your own identity?”
She smiles. “Something like that.”
Percy laughs, slightly more at ease. He’s at least able to look her in the eyes now. She looks back at him and leans against the seat with her shoulder.
“Percy,” she teases. “You can talk to me.”
“Believe me, I’m trying.”
Annabeth rolls her eyes fondly. “Do you know why I’m here?”
“For my sister.”
“It wasn’t really for her.”
Percy frowns, confused. “But you said…”
“I know what I said. The reason I even opened the message wasn’t because of her, though.”
Percy bites his lower lip nervously because the mood in the car has suddenly changed, and he’s certain he doesn’t have tinted windows.
“I opened it because I thought you were hot.”
Percy blinks, a beat passes, and then he bursts out laughing. “You thought I was hot!?”
“You are! I thought maybe it would be fun!”
“You live in LA with a ton of super rich and famous people, and you come after me? The guy that can barely afford his own apartment?” “I mean… it doesn’t really matter if you can’t afford it because I can. But that’s only if, like, this actually goes anywhere.”
“Are you always this forward?”
“Absolutely not, but you couldn’t even look me in the eyes, and I have to leave soon.”
“So you’re saying you want to, what? Marry me?”
“Exactly,” she deadpans.
“Woah, baby, I hardly know you! How could I marry you!”
“Hilarious.”
“It was, wasn’t it?”
“My point is,” she says pointedly, “I like you and would want to see you again. Without a child there.”
Percy’s brain is going bonkers right now because Annabeth Chase just asked him out. It’s even crazier because he’s thinking of saying yes. He tries to withstand, because he knows that he’ll never fit in with everything she’s surrounded by, but something tells him that she won’t mind, so he gives in.
“Fine,” he says playfully. “I guess I’ll take you on a date.”
“Oh shut up. I’ve been around Estelle all day telling me about how much her brother wants me to date him.”
“I didn’t say that, but to be fair, she’s not wrong.”
Annabeth shoots him a surprised look. “You’re not as shy as I thought.”
“Neither are you,” he counters, and it’s true. Annabeth has been making the first moves, and it’s different than what he usually sees. The thing is, he can tell this is exactly the way Annabeth is, and he’s determined to switch things up for her.
“Hey princess,” he says. “I feel like there should be a true love’s kiss before people go on a date, don’t you think?”
“Is that what this is? True love?”
“Isn’t it? You live in a fairytale.”
“I guess we’ll just have to find out, then.”
Percy pouts and whispers, “Bummer,” and then he’s pulling her in for a sweet kiss. It’s not at all him, and he’s sure this is no longer at all her either, but it feels right to both of them. Then, Annabeth bites his bottom lip, lets out a breathtaking whimper, and Percy deepens the kiss.
“These windows aren’t tinted,” Percy jokingly breathes out against her when she unbuckles her seatbelt.
“That’s okay,” she replies, smiling into the kiss. “I’m not one to be shy.”

Question for the mun: What do you think is the best or least bad Disney Live-Action Remake?
Tumblr media
Haha you came for me too. Other than 101 Dalmatians in ‘96 which I hold to be the standard of Disney remakes... Here’s what you have to realize is my low bar of remakes: Do what you couldn’t do originally. Add something to embellish. Do not do a complete remake that’s word for word. Fix technical errors. Add for runtime if the original was very short. Alright so... Let’s start with what remakes I think are the most dumpster fire. That would be Cruella, Maleficent, and The Jungle Book. BUT GASP. Everyone loves that one. And okay. Okay I hear you. ...The remake removes all of the intentionally placed gay subtext between Baloo and Bagheera. Because you gotta remember, The Jungle Book is actually racist bs that Rudyard Kipling wrote so that white people would be encouraged to keep races separate. The idea is a metaphor to keep the jungle to the jungle and the civilized people to the civilized people. Yes, this is racist metaphor. BTW there’s a bag company called Kipling named after Rudyard Kipling and they use a gorilla as a mascot. Just... think about that for a second. ANYWAY!
Disney... knew this and turned this into an adoption story that is more relevant to the 70s. Instead of that crap, it is “Mowgli is an interracial adoptee and he has a right to know where he came from.” This was a hot topic in the 70s and is still a hot topic today. I would know. I am adopted. My parents saw this film and it convinced them they should become adoptive parents and did not care where that baby came from so... here I am. Rock you like a hurricane. Walt did something decent before he died when he touched this. He didn’t touch it hard and remember, Disney’s black animators (yes they exist holy crap) worked on this film. So. Yeah it’s garbage. That’s all garbage. The remakes either remove queer subtext (looking at you Lion King you took it out) that has been there for years or it adds things that tend to become really offensive when you actually sit down and take a breath (Maleficent sweetie really). A’ight so. So shoving that out of the way. Grudgingly, I pick Aladdin. And I know what happened. What you don’t know is... people are racist and needed Middle Eastern actors to tan because “that’s not dark enough for a majority white audience” so enjoy the colorism that is rampant in the Disney fandom. We could honestly talk about the discourse that happened and the harassment that followed all the actors but... let’s not. And I don’t like the movie because GASP I MUST WHITE KNIGHT. I like it because it’s a dull stick in the eye compared to a sharp one.
Jafar isn’t a pedophile. Rejoice.
Jafar wasn’t woobified. Get wrecked, Cruella. I hope the real Cruella rips out your hair.
Jasmine gets the bare minimal of explanation I needed. She wants to be Sultana. Sultan is too afraid because her mother was literally murdered. Historically, sultanas existed but right now he’s too scared.
Speaking of the Sultan, he’s not an idiot. He’s just afraid. When we’re afraid we can do foolish things and I deeply appreciated it. Like I could have gone for “oh this is why he collects toys” but hey, I got an explanation. Two seconds was all it took.
Speechless is relatable. Beyond relatable. And the scene is very beautiful.
Mena Massoud is an excellent Aladdin. I do love Brad Kane, but at this point I prefer Mena Massoud’s performance. He’s great. There’s an innocence to his voice and yet a very matter-of-fact when he’s living that Street Rat life. Brad Kane just Broadway’s it and while that’s still great since that’s the Aladdin we all grew up with, Mena takes me there slowly.
The first version of Friend Like Me is horrific and feels stiff. The credits version feels much better and as if Will Smith finally makes the character his own. Why we didn’t get that and a Bollywood style dance in the Cave of Wonders BEFORE the credits, IDK! But that’s a better performance.
Will Smith does have scenes where Genie feels like the actual Genie. Problem is... it’s inconsistent. And that’s upsetting because it looks like Will Smith knows what he’s doing so I want to “talk” to the director.
JAMS. STOP TALKING. ABOUT THE JAMS.
Arabian Nights has a much better rewrite. God like that’s such a bop and I don’t feel unclean like the first one always made me feel like that. Also the visuals of the ship coming into the port? Uuuugh. drooling.
I actually didn’t miss Iago. But is it because they didn’t use Gilbert Gottfried for the squawking or...? Hey, I didn’t miss him. You will not miss him at all. Turns out... Unless it’s Return of Jafar, you don’t need Iago at all. Which surprised me.
A little bitter it’s not Eden with Genie but hey, he’s happy and that makes me happy.
Okay but when you mix BOTH A Friend Like Me together it is ear candy having that duet.
And I know that’s the hottest take ever. These reasons are such a hot take... But I consider it a dull stick in my eye compared to a sharp stick. Cause nah really, all the remakes are accepting a stick in your eye.

Past-Present-Future Black Dahlia
Two major tragedies bring Lee Mirae closer to the edge as she goes through the stages of grief in a more violent manner that would affect not only her relationships with her boyfriend Jeong Yunho and her half-brother Choi San, but also has her becoming closer with the immortal mutant Kang Yeosang. Fueled by rage, grief, and pain, along with a very rude awakening that has Mirae spiraling out of control and questioning everything she holds dear.
Group: ATEEZ Member: Yunho Pairing: Jeong Yunho / OC Genre: Action, adventure, angst, fantasy
Watch Out! : Violence, blood, death, grief and loss, major character deaths, use of weapons, some jealousy (but no cheating ofc), implied smut (not sure if there is any but i’m putting it out there nonetheless), mental illness (probably?), gambling and alcohol
Anything else? : Mentions of other idols of course as well as other characters. SuperM, Dean, Chanyeol, Zelo, soloist Park Jihoon to name a few.
Author’s Note: Sorry for taking so long to update! Oh, and I thought since it’s my birthday, I’d treat everyone (at least everyone who reads this anyway) with another chapter! Hurrah! Things are happening!
Masterlist
Chapter 8
“So, it seems like one of us is dead,” Ten broke the silence between the rest of them as they looked over the city from where they stood. They were back in the real world, in the conference room of the skyscraper that Mark owned under his own enterprise.
“And one is being held hostage,” Lucas pointed to his temple. “That same one owns this building that we are staying in. Why didn’t we stay in your building? You own the tech company in the first place,” He glanced over at Taemin.
“It won’t be long before Yunho comes here,” Ino said, seeing Taemin furiously disintegrate the vacant chairs in front of him. “He’s bound to come here since he’s got Mark. Taeyong proved to be a lot more expendable than we thought he was.”
“How dare you say that!” Taemin disintegrated the chair the elder was sitting on and the table that had their drinks.
“Taemin, it’s true. Taeyong clearly forgot he was up against someone whose mind he can’t read,” Baekhyun pointed out. “Mirae and San both have a shield. No one can get into their heads. You placed San in the mountains where he stayed with a woman for a while,” He glanced at Ten, who shrugged. “Wrong move.”
“It was an attempt to get him to soften up,” Ten replied. “I figured if I brought San back to a place he would remember fondly, like that place, where he had quite a...sexually explicit affair with the wife of his mercenary group leader, he would be vulnerable. Apparently not. That was the reason why he fled to look for his sister in the first place.”
“And what about Yunho?” Jongin asked.
“Yunho, to the place where his immortality took effect,” Ten glanced at them. “Where he was vulnerable.”
“So what is our next move?” Taemin fumed.
Ino looked at the tablet at his feet, laying on top of the piles of dust that was once the conference room table. The tablet unlocked itself and showed the interface of the controls. “This is our next move. We go live,” He replied, some of the features on the interface tapping themselves. “Project Apocalypse is now live.”
“You know, Yunho made a good point earlier when we visited him,” Ten glanced at them. “We go like this without any leadership, if we need any. Our think-tank will need a face.”
“Wouldn’t it be obvious by now? I have been looking for mutants under the directions of my father back in the center for paranormal research. I am also far more powerful than any of you in this room,” Ino said. “I’ve waited for a long time to take my place among our kind. I realize that my place is above.”
“It was my plan to track down Jihoon, Hyuk, and Chanyeol that led us to come up with this think tank in the first place,” Baekhyun interjected. “You only knew of that when you went away after the tall dope and the telekinetic were killed.”
“But my powers are far more superior than yours, Baekhyun,” Ino repeated. “Are you really going to question my very obvious authority over you?”
“No, you are right,” Baekhyun got up from his chair. “You have a very obvious authority over all of us. Maybe not Mark as he is significantly older than you, but for the rest of us?” He kicked down the wooden floor lamp, making the base snap in two. Baekhyun picked up the two pieces and before he could strike, the two pieces disintegrated and Baekhyun was floating in the air.
Ino stared at him, shaking his head slightly. “Tsk, tsk, Baekhyun. Even my powers surpass that of Mark’s. You ought to know better than to fight me.”
“Yeah, because Mirae’s the only one here that can actually do damage to you,” Jongin chimed in. “Don’t think we didn’t see what happened to you. Put Baekhyun hyung down.”
Ino’s expression stiffened and Baekhyun dropped to the floor. “You’re a fool if you even consider opposing me.”
“You’re also a fool for assuming you can defeat everybody here, if I do say so myself,” Taemin pointed out, glaring at him. “You just tagged along when you found out what we were planning.”
“And now I am changing the plans,” Ino countered. “Project Apocalypse won’t just be a think tank anymore, it’s going to be more than that.”
Particles of dust and metal were floating in mid-air in front of Ino, suddenly taking the form of robots that towered over all of them. “Project Apocalypse will remake the world into our image.”
Jongin stared at him. “We killed the goblins years ago when they were looking to do the same thing, Jang Ino. You should know this most of all.”
“I’m not talking about the goblins,” Ino said. “Mutant supremacy at its finest. The diamond of the tree of life will power these robots,” the gem appeared in his hand out of thin air.
Jongin and Baekhyun stared at the gem. “...You kept the diamond all this time?” said the older of the two.
“Yes, all this time, the diamond was with me. It made itself known to me shortly after the explosion from the Center,” Ino said. “Have you already forgotten? This is a sentient gem. It could never be destroyed, it simply disappears and reappears to anyone it wants to appear to.”
“You will need material for that, whatever you are planning on building,” Taemin said, now intrigued by his proposal. “Where do you suppose you’re going to get that?”
“From you, of course. Your company also specializes in metals, don’t they? The same alloy Junhong uses to fit the cars at the Center come from your company,” Ino pointed out. “They will be indestructible, and they will usher in a new era in the world.”
Lucas approached the window, staring down at the busy streets below them. “So your droids are going to act as the horsemen of the apocalypse, won’t they?” He asked.
“Why yes, they will. The horsemen of Project Apocalypse.”
Mirae looked up at the sky. In the midst of the calm, she still felt some frustration, the seeping feeling of regret that she didn’t finish Baekhyun or Jongin off while she had the chance, Ino even more so. Her eyes began to glow as well as her fingertips. “We’re not where we should be,” She said. “Project Apocalypse is being activated in the city, our real city.”
“You mean they went back?” Mingi said.
“I got it from Yunho. Mark told him, he’s telling him everything,” Mirae replied. “If my instincts are right, you should stand behind me,” She was still looking up.
“What are you thinking of doing?” Hongjoong asked.
“Don’t ask, just stand behind her,” Yeosang said.
Mirae channeled everything she was feeling, the glow in her eyes and fingertips growing brighter and brighter as she concentrated on the sky. The more she stared at the sky and at the clouds swirling above them, the more the sky began to turn red, as red as the glow in her eyes and fingertips. “For Hyuk and Chanyeol,” She muttered. “For Jihoon, for Yunho, and for San.”
The more she concentrated, they started to see that Mirae’s form was beginning to glow as well, and a powerful wave of energy shot up into the skies, causing what looked like cracks in a forcefield. Another wave of energy shot up, but this time, they saw that it was much more powerful than before, breaking out of the cracks and shattering what was above them completely.
As the sky broke down completely, it seemed to reveal where they really were and to Mirae, it was another familiar place. It was the deserted compound with the empty, partly demolished houses. One of those houses had the passage that led to the goblin kingdom court.
“Wow, I knew she was powerful, but I never thought she was this powerful,” Jongho muttered, the rest of them looked at her in amazement. The glow in her eyes was fading.
They saw Junhong get out of the van nearby, looking around in disbelief and almost stumbling as he ran up to them. “What happened? Where are we?” He called out.
“She broke down the dimension Ten put us in,” Yeosang replied. “Which means Yunho and San would be very close by.”
Junhong gaped at her. “Now we need to look for them,” He took out the thin sliver of metal that was their communicator and turned it on. “Yunho? San? Where are you?” He called out, hoping for an answer.
“Hey! Hey!” They looked at a figure running from a distance, and Mirae broke into a run as well when she realized who it was.
“San!” She called out, the two of them capturing each other in a tight hug. “San, I’m sorry,” Mirae said softly.
“For what?” He said.
“For how I’ve been acting these past few weeks,” Mirae said quietly. “I was acting like you weren’t my brother, like you didn’t exist or something.”
San shook his head. “It’s okay, sis. Are you back now?” He asked.
“I-I don’t know,” Mirae said. “For some reason I don’t know.”
They heard a commotion come from one of the partly demolished houses. “That must be where Yunho is,” Hongjoong said, and ran to the house, speeding up to the second floor.
The rest of them ran to the house as well to catch up. Wooyoung transformed into his shadow form and slithered along the ground and into the house as well. “Junhong, you better stay close to us,” Mirae said.
“I already am,” Junhong nodded, as they stepped inside the house. “Oh, this is the same place from-”
“Yeah, where we dealt with the goblins,” Mirae replied, seeing the blood stains on the floors and on the walls. “We always tend to end up in this place.”
“We’re in a small country, we’re bound to always end up in places we’ve been to before,” Junhong replied.
“Seonghwa, when I say go, control it,” Mirae said. “I have a feeling that’s how it’s going to go.”
They heard several thuds coming from the second floor, until the figures of Yunho and Mark appeared and disappeared, both of them engaged in a tussle in front of them.
The rest of them tried to surround the two that kept teleporting in and out. “Go!” Mirae said the moment she sensed the two would reappear. Seonghwa’s eyes and fingertips glowed green as he broke the two teleporters apart, the two of them floating in mid-air as they were surrounded by the rest.
When Mark tried to teleport away, Mingi kicked him back, followed by a strike from Hongjoong then Jongho, Wooyoung, Mirae, and San. Yeosang cast another hex towards the immortal, keeping him frozen as Seonghwa dropped him and Yunho to the floor. “I guess this is what happens when we don’t have much of our weapons left,” Mingi said.
“Excellent, Hwa,” Mirae patted him on the shoulder.
“Hyuk taught me that,” He said.
“He taught you well,” She patted his shoulder again.
Yunho quickly got to his feet, seeing Mark bruised and incapacitated on the floor. “One moment, we were in a village in Casablanca, the next moment, we’re in this...place, whatever this is,” He said.
“Mirae broke down the dimension Ten put us in,” Yeosang pointed out, Yunho looking even more surprised at the change in his appearance.
Yunho turned to Mirae, who was still staring at Mark’s frozen form. “Mirae?” He said.
She looked up at the mention of her name. “Yunho?” Mirae went up to him in a tight hug, Yunho almost lifting her off her feet. “I’m so sorry,” She said. “I’m sorry for the way I’ve been.”
Yunho shook his head. “It’s okay, it’s okay,” He kissed her cheek as he held her close. “I know how much they meant to you, and for a moment I thought I was going to lose you.”
“Me too. I was so consumed by how I was feeling, I thought I was going out of control,” Mirae pulled back, staring into his eyes. “I couldn’t stop myself, I was just so angry and hurt and-”
Yunho shook his head and kissed her. “What matters is that you’re back now,” He whispered. Back to me, he thought.
“What do we do with him? Any ideas?” Hongjoong asked them, making Yunho and Mirae pull away to look over at Mark.
“We could prolong the hex, if I may suggest,” Yeosang spoke. “Any other ideas?”
“Skin him?” Jongho asked.
“Burn him alive?” Mingi chimed in.
“Make an example out of him,” Mirae said, her expression falling. She bent down to look closely at Mark. “Where in the city would they activate Project Apocalypse?” She asked.
“Taemin and Taeyong’s company. It’s a tech enterprise,” Mark replied, seemingly defeated. “I must admit, I have underestimated each and every one of you.”
“Don’t make that mistake again,” Mirae pointed out.
“I killed one of yours,” San said, holding up a fragment of a diamond that was in his pocket. “Look familiar?” He said.
Mark stared at him in horror. “...That’s impossible.”
“It is, when you’re someone like me,” San replied. “What else can you tell us about Project Apocalypse?”
“It’s too late,” Mark said. “Ino has activated the project, and it appears that he’s got more tricks up his sleeve, if I can hear his thoughts correctly.”
“What tricks? What kind of tricks?” Yunho asked.
Wooyoung stared at him, and then turned to the rest of them, blinking a few times as to what he was seeing. “Robots. Like the ones in the Danger room. Ino’s making robots that can kill,” He said. “Just like the robots you fought.”
“Then let’s go. Yeosang can take care of Mark,” Mirae said, giving the vampiric mutant a nod. “Tough luck, Mr. Lee. You’ve weakened Yeosang enough to make him hungry.”
“Should I call you an old friend? You’re not as invincible as you make yourself out to be. Then again, you’re now dealing with me,” Yeosang then bent down as the rest of them moved out of the house. Mark stared at him. “You can read my mind to know how much I need to feed, and unfortunately for you, your time is up,” He pressed his hand to Mark’s heart, shuddering as he absorbed the life out of him.
“They got Mark too. This vendetta you have is becoming even more risky,” Taemin glared at Baekhyun. “And now they’re on their way here.”
“We’re becoming outnumbered, it’s nine of them against how many of us?” Ten raised a brow, also looking at Baekhyun.
“If they got Mark and Taeyong, that just means they were outsmarted, outmatched, and they’re not as strong as they make themselves out to be. Yeah, I said what I said,” Baekhyun shot back at Taemin.
“It doesn’t matter if they were expendable or not,” Ino said. “All that matters is,” He gestured to the windows. They could hear a thud followed by the sounds of people screaming in the streets. The robot that Ino had built was walking out in the open. “Action must be taken now. If I were all of you, I’d make sure Mirae and the others don’t stand in the way.”
“We should go then,” Lucas said, Ten getting up from his seat, followed by Taemin. “They’ve taken two from us, we should return the favor.”
Baekhyun and Jongin got up, the younger of the two limping as he joined their colleagues. “Mutant supremacy,” Baekhyun said as if to remind them of their resolve. Ten and Taemin held on to Lucas’ shoulders while Baekhyun put his hand on Jongin’s and in an instant, they vanished.
Ino closed his eyes and vanished as well.
“If we’re here, then it means we’re getting close to home,” Mirae said as they approached another familiar dilapidated apartment building that revealed some of the floors. Yeosang quickly reappeared with them, his appearance returning to normal. She glanced at San and Yunho, “I mean, we’re getting literally close to home, the store is a bus ride away.”
They entered the building, Mirae and Junhong seeing the familiar blood splatters on the doors and on the walls that had peeling wallpaper. Wooyoung gaped at what he was seeing. “Jongin got attacked here, didn’t he? During that time with all of you? He was with another guy,” He said.
“Sehun, yeah,” Mirae replied as they climbed up the staircase, seeing even more blood spatters, some might even have looked fresh from how red it was. “Looks like some creatures come out to feed here then,” She muttered.
“Creatures?!” Hongjoong stared at her.
“Creatures. Non-humans, goblins most likely,” Junhong nodded. “Mirae, you still know the way, right?” He asked.
“Vividly,” Mirae answered, leading them down the hall to the door at the very end. “You all know what to do in case something happens.”
“I wonder why this area hasn’t been developed? I could’ve made the way to where we’re going a lot...nicer looking,” Yeosang frowned at the sight of the deteriorating interiors.
Mirae opened the door, revealing a staircase going down to a dark tunnel ahead. The passage was barely lit, and they could hear the sounds of something scurrying and squeaking. “Oh my god,” Seonghwa muttered, gripping the strap of his quiver tightly while Mingi took out his lighter to light the way from his place, the flames rising up high enough to make it bright for everyone to see.
“Watch your steps,” Mirae looked over at them, holding Yunho’s hand tightly as they walked through the passageway, seeing rats scurry around them, and making Jongho and Wooyoung squeal in their places, Mingi holding onto Hongjoong who leaned away from the flame in his lighter.
San gave them a look, shaking his head. “All of you realize we need to be quiet in case someone else is in here, right?” He said.
More rats were scurrying, making the rest of them, including Yeosang, stick to Mirae and Yunho. “I think we were a lot braver against those rodents while we were under the trance,” Hongjoong said.
“Clearly,” Mirae nodded as they walked on, seeing the familiar old-fashioned elevator at the end of the tunnel. There were still bits of dried blood on the buttons going up and down as the iron doors opened. “Not all of us are going to fit in here,” she said. “San, Yunho, Junhong, Yeosang, Wooyoung, and I will go in first, the rest of you will be next. We’ll wait for you.”
“Got it,” Hongjoong said.
“If something goes wrong, Hongjoong, you better run,” Mirae eyed him, and he nodded again.
“How about we don’t do that? I’d like to try something, my dear,” Yeosang cast a spell, and the elevator in front of them expanded in size. “It can fit up to ten people now. We cannot afford to separate now, they will take advantage of us being split up.”
All of them got inside, and Mirae pressed the button, the doors closing as the elevator began to go down. They could feel a cold draft coming from below as they were further lowered down into the dark shaft. “We haven’t been here in a while,” Junhong looked around. “I wonder what’s going to happen to us now after all of this is over.”
“I suggest we still stick together after this,” Hongjoong said. “It’s clear that we all work well together, including executive Kang.”
“Aside from that, I mean,” Junhong said. “Mirae’s got the store, Yeosang’s got his company, now that it’s clear that Ino is no longer willing to keep us going, the rest of us are on our own.”
“What is that smell?” Jongho suddenly spoke, cringing and frowning the further they went down, the rest of them wrinkling their noses at the stench that was getting stronger. “It smells like something died.”
“Something did die. A lot of somethings,” Mirae said. “I didn’t think it would still stink this bad years later.”
“Goblins decay slower than humans,” Junhong said.
“Is that what it is? This smells even worse than the camel poop in Morocco,” Yunho said, glancing at her.
The elevator stopped and Mirae opened the doors, all of them suddenly greeted by the rotting goblin corpses strewn on the floor in what looked like a library with one bookcase pushed to the side, revealing another passageway. “I know I should be used to seeing dead bodies by now, but I’m not used to this,” Seonghwa said as they stepped over the bodies, noticing the glinting gold armor that the creatures wore.
“Come to think about it, this place seems like a good spot for all of us to stay in, kind of like a headquarters,” San glanced at his sister. “There’s all these cool passageways, we just need to uh, get rid of all the bodies and the blood.”
“That’s not a bad idea,” Junhong nodded. “This place just needs a lot of cleaning up, an updated security system, and we’d have our own headquarters instead of that safehouse. Where we could really be hidden away.”
They went inside the passageway into a torch-lit chamber that had a set of two giant doors in front of them, the wood that acted as a barricade had long broken, and some parts of the doors had already been busted through. Wooyoung could feel his senses go into overdrive with all the memories he kept seeing the more they walked on. “So much has happened here,” He said, blinking a few times, as if trying to organize what he was seeing.
Mirae led them down the marble aisle in the middle of the room, the water on both sides of the aisle also littered with rotting goblin corpses and the marble that was once white, had stains of blood. It somehow made sense that they were brought back here, that this place was where she would end up at some point or another. The grudge Baekhyun had on her started here and in what was the Center for Paranormal Research. It only made sense that the way to stop Baekhyun was to go through some of the old ways, whatever it might be. But given how things had turned out, Mirae knew she had to do the same with Ino, which seemed like a battle she knew she was going to lose.
Mirae led them through the hole on the left, revealing what seemed like a newly built tunnel illuminated with white lights. “This was where Chanyeol passed through when we dealt with the Utopian cult,” She muttered, making Junhong glance at her.
“Oh right,” Junhong noticed their surroundings the further they went into the tunnel. “Where does this lead to again?”
Mirae looked up at the tall male. “Where my foster parents kept the bodies of the people they would turn into their followers. And the training room, what was once the training room anyway.”
Yunho squeezed her hand as they kept walking. “You know, I kind of feel naked without having anything to kill or wound something with,” He said.
“Sooner or later, we would have to rely on our powers alone,” Mirae muttered, opening the door at the end of the tunnel, the red tapestries bearing the symbol of the Utopian cult hanging on the door and on the walls of the warehouse they now found themselves in.
“And all this time, I had no idea a place like this existed,” Yeosang looked around.
They soon heard a thud coming from a closed off part of the warehouse. The thud grew louder, almost making the ground tremble beneath their feet. Out from the closed off part, a giant robot appeared in front of them, and alongside the machine appeared Lucas, Ten, Taemin, Baekhyun, and Jongin.
“Split them up,” Baekhyun said to the rest of them.
“Junhong, can you protect yourself?” Mirae glanced at the taller male.
“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine, they probably wouldn’t. Remember what Hyuk and Chanyeol taught the rest of you,” Junhong muttered to them.
“You know, I’m kind of glad Hyuk and that tall dope have now left this earth,” Baekhyun spoke. “All this sentiment, it just makes you weak.”
“They were mutants too, Baekhyun, you knew them just as well,” Mirae said through gritted teeth.
Baekhyun smirked. “No, they were nothing to me, and I knew they were everything to you. To the extent that you neglected those people around you right now.”
“Releasing that robot into the city isn’t going to make you any more or less powerful, you know,” San blurted out, eyeing the rest of them.
“One is already out in the open, this is just another one,” Ten pointed out.
Mirae glanced at the males behind her. “Get the rest of them, but leave Baekhyun and Jongin to me,” She muttered. She turned back to the rest. “I’ve got a bone to pick with two of you.”
“No matter how much we fight, there’s nothing that you can do to stop Project Apocalypse from happening. It’ll start from Seoul, and then to the rest of the world,” Taemin said.
Mirae shook her head. “There’s always something.” Her eyes began to glow along with her fingertips. San’s and Seonghwa’s eyes and fingertips began to glow with their power signatures as well.

NEXT CHAPTER
Tumblr media
    - Gwen, you don’t need all of this. - half the staff of the penthouse was carrying bags and more bags into the lift that was almost filled with what looked like the full contents of two medium sized bedrooms. - It’s only for three weeks, Gwen. Besides, it’s freezing cold you won’t need a bathing suit.
    - What if dad takes me to the Caribbean for New Years? - she crossed her arms, still pulling more and more clothing off her chest of drawers making the room look more messy than a bin area. Y/N sighed, grabbing some clothes and starting to fold them, placing them on the bed. - I have to be prepared, Y/N. People cannot see me looking less than.
   - No one would see you as less than, Gwen. - probably over the top but never less than, Y/N thought to herself. - I don’t think all of this is gonna fix in the car. You’ll probably need to put some in the front and back seat.
   - That is a great idea. - she closed the drawer with her feet. - You can go tomorrow so we have more space in the car today.
   - But ... Gwen.
   - You are so smart. - the heiress patted her shoulder, handing her one of her brand named luggage. Y/N just sighed, it was probably alright to go tomorrow but that meant she would miss the decorating of the big Christmas tree in the big lobby. But then again, it was Christmas, the time to think of others and if bringing the entire wardrobe made Gwen happy, then Y/N was happy.
With two luggage bags hanging from her arms and one being held in her arms, she adventured herself into the staircase. However, due to the fact her sight was obstructed by the amount of suitcases, her feet tripped over each other and soon enough she felt herself flying towards the ground. She awaited the impact but instead someone grabbed her by her arms, the only impact felt being the sound created by the bags as they hit the floor in loud bang noises.
   - Slow down, little angel. - she bite on her lip, recognising the voice. - You could’ve hurt yourself.
   - Just some last minute packing. - Y/N jumped off his arms onto the marbled floors, straightening the fabric of her dress with her hands.
   - Doesn’t look very last minute. - he commented. - Three weeks, huh? That’s a bit long without seeing your pretty face around.
   - You should be saying three weeks without seeing your wife to be will be long. - she handed one of the valets Gwen’s bags before she came downstairs and started panicking.
   - You shouldn’t lie during Christmas. It’s Jesus birthday. - he chuckled, immediately returning to his regular stoic presence once Gwen came down the stair holding another bag. - Genevieve, my whole staff should not be packing the car.
   - Not your whole staff besides if you need anything ask Y/N, she’s still staying here for a day longer.
   - Gwen needs space in the car. - Y/N spoke up and before Sebastian could argue her own selflessness, she, along with several bags and Gwen, were already going down in the lift to the entrance where several staff where waiting with golden rolling cages to put all the luggage in so it could be hauled easily into the car. As everything got settled and placed, Y/N peaked her head into the window. - Are you sure you’re alright going on your own?
   - Yes, Y/N. You can go now, I’ll send the car for you tomorrow.
Y/N stepped back, waving goodbye as the car drove the heiress back to her family home. Sure, deep on the inside where no one but herself could see it but her, she was grieving losing what they did just before Christmas Eve. The decorating of the tree where she could put her very old yet near and dear precious ornament on the tree, the baking of the dough for the sugar cookies so they could be baked tomorrow but Christmas was not about Y/N, it was not about just one individual, it was about being there for those you loved and despite all, Y/N loved Gwen as much as a friend could ... sadly, she might also love her husband to be.
As the car disappeared in the horizon, Y/N returned to the lobby, smiling at the lobby staff before she entered the lift which took her back to the penthouse. She had to admit the penthouse looked beautiful in the Christmas spirit. As she noticed the Christmas tree by the piano, an idea came into her mind and like a flash, she went into her bedroom, grabbed the red box and returned to the living room. Her hands delicately opened the box, staring at the still intact by time golden ornament. In her wildest fantasies as a child, she dreamed of marrying a prince, living her own life in her own little kingdom and pass the bauble down to her offspring. Yet those were childish fantasies and every once in a while, people need to grow and get newer fantasies.
   - Leaving the room will not stop me from arguing with you, angel. - she held the ornament to her chest, softly turning on her feet to see Sebastian standing there, looking at her with a teasing smile. - She doesn’t need all that luggage.
   - It’s alright, Elias said he’d drive tomorrow.
   - What do you have there? - he pointed at her red glossy box, noticing the gold written Cartier on top. - A present from Gwen?
   - Not quite. - she opened the little drawer, holding onto the golden string of the gold bauble. - Mr. Forrest gave it to me when I was little. I always put it on the Christmas tree on the 23rd.
   - You sure you don’t want me to drive you there myself? I’m sure if ...
   - I don’t wanna bother you or the staff. They deserve a Christmas break too.
   - I don’t know if it helps but ... - he stepped next to her. - You can always put it on our Christmas tree.
  - Why don’t you put it? - she handed him the bauble and he probably would’ve said no, had it not been by the soft smile and hopeful nature her shining eyes had as she held the string. Sebastian merely smiled back, putting the ornament in the first free branch he saw, something he hadn’t done since he was a young boy. - It looks lovely. Doesn’t it?
  - You find beauty in everything, angel. - his eyes glued on the golden necklace that was always wrapped around her neck which somehow seemed to glisten even more than before. - You know, you never really told me about that little necklace you lost when we first meet.
  - Oh ... it was my mother’s. - she smiled. - It’s been with me for ages. It’s a robin you know? The bird. When I was a little girl I used to think that was her name, Robin.
  - My father used to know someone named Robin. Peculiar name, isn’t it?
  - Yeah, I always wonder about them during the holidays. Do you not ... wonder about your parents that is?
  - My father and I didn’t have the best relationship but I do miss my mother. She passed away a long time ago but ... she used to have the best sugar cookie recipe.
  - You don’t mean to tell me the mob boss cooks. - she poked his shoulder playfully. - You ought to teach me someday.
  - Of course, now go pack.
Y/N had spent most of the day packing, deciding what to bring and what to show to the house staff. Not that she had a lot that she could show for but she wanted to bring the dress Sebastian gave her to show to the maids of the kitchen. Also because it had quickly climbed up to be one of her favourite gowns even with all the hand me downs from Genevieve.
She had fallen asleep mumbling Christmas carols, her mind going to one of her favourite time of the years and to the smells of cooking in the kitchen. She woke up with an unusual cold rushing down her spine. She popped her head from under the covers, eyes gazing at the outside of the Upper East through her window only to see it fully covered with lots and lots of fluffy snow. Oh no.
She rushed down the stairs like a mad men, punching the button of the lift which seemed to take ages to arrive and even longer to reach the lobby. She ran to the doors, pushing it open to the see the very busy Upper East Side with nothing but people walking.
   - I’m sorry, sir. Are any cars leaving? - she asked the valet outside the door
  - Not today, Miss. All the streets are blocked. Pretty bad blizzard last night.
  - Oh ... - if her heart could physically break, it had just broken. - Thank y ...
  - MISS Y/N. - one of the bodyguards rushed after her. - You almost gave us a fright, you could’ve gotten hurt.
  - There’s no cars leaving. - she spoke with the weight of the world on her voice, following the bodyguard onto the living room. Most of the staff was gone and only essential and in-house living staff was in, mostly cooking for the holidays.
  - Angel, are you alright? - Sebastian showed up from her left, still dressed in what looked like his sleeping clothes.
  - There’s no cars leaving NY. - Y/N didn’t dare look anyone in the eyes, afraid her overwhelming sadness would manifest into tears if she dared to do so. - The blizzard ... nothing’s leaving ... I can’t go home.
  - Nonsense. There must be something leaving. - his hand rested against her shoulder which was rather cold due to the contact with the cold weather outside. - Why don’t you go with Amelia and have something to eat? We’ll figure it out.
  - Yes, come Miss Y/N ... - Amelia put her hands in the small back of Y/N. - I’ll make you some warm tea before you get sick. Come on.
Y/N was rushed into the kitchen by the cook while Sebastian grabbed his phone. Surely something had to be working, it wasn’t like she could walk what would regularly be a half an hour ride, she would freeze to death. No planes or personal flying vehicles were clear for take off and no cars or drivers were being allowed to drive.
  - Angel ... - he called out for the young girl who looked bluer than night ice. - Why don’t you go and take a warm bath while I figure this out?
  - Come along now. - Amelia pushed her off her seat before she could rebuff him. As the two disappeared into the hallway, Sebastian called out whatever he had left of staff which wasn’t too much. Luckily the stores were open and brave souls could adventure themselves into walking into them.
  - Right, you all have exactly one hour to turn this house into a Christmas paradise. Food, carolling, movies, all of it. It’s an order. Now go.

Persona 2 Innocent Sin Review
I wanted to have some time in between playing the game and writing my thoughts for Persona 2 Innocent Sin. I will be referencing it and other Persona games so there may be some light spoilers for games 2-5.
I played the psp version of the game on a Playstation TV. I beat the game at 76 hours on the dot. I have not completed most of the theater missions, but I have completed the main story of the game and did do a few sidequests.
My review will be organized in several sections-gameplay, story, music, characters, LGBTQ representation, extra content, wishlist and recommendation.
Gameplay:
Persona 2 Innocent Sin was released in 1999. Therefore plays as a game from 1999. The PSP rerelease updated menus, changed the difficulty, and added all out attack art similar to P3-P5 for the fusion spells. I love the all out attack animation and although the menus got a little cumbersome, it didn’t really impact gameplay for me.
The biggest complaint about Persona 2 IS is how easy and repetitive it is and the high encounter rate. The battles for the most part are easy and if you set up all your attacks in the first round, you can basically use autoplay until an emergency occurs or you encounter an enemy in which you must change it up.
I never saw the gameplay as repetitive as others do and I feel those who do only just battle and that’s it. I was constantly trying to get all the fusion spells, max up my personas to trade them for items, try different combinations for the demon negotiations and spread demon rumors to get items, spells, and cards (you need cards to summon new personas in the velvet room.) Demon negotiations also allow you a better look into each of the characters’ personalities and relationships. Events in the game will change how the characters react in these negotiations so it is always nice to go back to them throughout the course of the game.
The demons you encounter have emotions. I believe they are intrigued, happy, angry and fearsome. Make them happy and they will offer a pact with you and give you free stuff and willing to spread rumors for you. Make them angry they will fight you. Make them fear you they will run away. Make them intrigued and you get the cards needed to summon personas and even more if you already have a pact with them.
I wanted to return to the big complaint though, the high encounter rate. This was something that I felt hot and cold about. Most of the time this didn’t bother me, because I needed to level up my personas anyway. But when I needed to backtrack and explore further, it did get a little bothersome.
You can use estoma to avoid enemies weaker than you. It is not a passive skill, so once you have a persona that has it, you have to cast it every time it wears off. At the Mu casino, you can also purchase a disguise kit that does the same thing, but it effects last about the same amount of time and it is ridiculously expensive. Just use estoma.
As briefly mentioned above, unlike Persona 5 in which you can just catch Personas, in P2IS there are only two ways to get them. You get cards from demon negations, take those cards to the velvet room and then trade them in for a Persona. But you have to enough cards to summon it and the persona has to be 5 cards within your character level.
You can also talk to the demon painter, for him to make you cards for the specific arcana you want by using blank cards. These are also given through demon negotiations that you have a pact with.
In P2, ALL your characters are capable of changing out Personas, but their compatibility with different personas varies with their Arcana.
The other way to get personas is through the story. There are certain actions that you must take to get the prime personas and then the final personas. These personas are character specific and you can’t give them to other characters.
I wanted to talk about three more things before I move on to the story: rumormongers, fusion spells, and dungeons.
Persona 2IS is based around rumors. Just like P3 is for the dark hour, P4 the midnight channel, P5 around palaces and so on...
To get certain items and progress the story, you MUST gather and spread rumors. There are five characters throughout the game called rumormongers. They will give you information in exchange for receiving information. You then share this information to the detective agency, pay a fee for them to spread them for you, and there you go. rumor spread. As mentioned earlier, there are also demon specific rumors.
Fusion spells were something I really enjoyed in this game. Although hearing “Are you ready? Here goes” and “Let’s go everybody” will be stuck in my head for the rest of eternity...
Basically, to create a fusion spell, members in your party require a requisite spell and then that party member is placed in a specific order when taking turns. Once that spell is unlocked, it will let you know if you have the requisite spells and you no longer have to adjust the order of party members. Some of the spells you need to unlock fusion spells are persona specific. The fusion spells are elemental.
I will not go into weaknesses of elemental spells, I am just going to say that you aren’t “down”’ed like you are in 3-5.
Finally, my first real pet peeve with this game-the dungeons.
Oh boy. Air raid, AeroSpace and one of the four Zodiac dungeons (I am pretty sure its Eikichi’s) gets ALL my hate. There are cheap gimmicks that make the game artificially hard but only for these dungeons and more so, frustrating.
But I am not going to go into detail why, and the other dungeons are not bad at all. But play the game and experience these dungeons for yourself. That is all I am going to say about that.
Story:
This section will be nowhere was long as gameplay. The story did not go where I thought it would, but that’s a good thing. I would go in completely blind if you can. The ending definitely surprised me a bit. I think it has one of the best stories of the persona games.
It does not follow a calendar like the later Persona games and time just blends together. By the end of the game, you won't know if a day, week or month passed from the beginning to the end.
Music:
The music is actually really good. It is the reason why I played the game in the first place. Just don’t look at the soundtracks names. Spotify has it available if you live in the US. You are better off listening to the soundtrack because I promise you that most dungeons songs will be cut off due to the frequency of battles.
Some of my favorite songs are Smile Hirasaka, Unbreakable Tie, Kurosu’s theme, Joker and the Taurus dungeon’s theme.
Characters:
Despite Persona 2 not having social links, I feel like I know these characters better than some of the persona games that do have social links. It is also the only Persona game that I can say without any hesitation that I like the entire main cast.
I truly love them all, but my favorite would probably be Yukino or Maya.
Unlike other Personas, the dynamics for Persona 2 IS are different, because not all of your party members are high school students. The adult characters have adult problems, the high school students have high school problems, and all of them have deep psychological problems and abandonment issues that will take years of intense therapy (or Philemeon) to forget.
One of the biggest themes of Persona 2 is confronting your past and learning from the mistakes of your childhood. And the characters do! And by the end of the game you are so proud of how far they have come. And then things happen...
LGBTQ representation
Let me say that I started P2IS off on the wrong foot, but I am still absolutely justified at being upset by it. One of the very first interactions you can have with a NPC is through a very uncomfortable exchange between you, Eikichi and a transman that is pretty transphobic. And to add the icing on the cake, Atlus refers to him as a “weird woman.”
I was literally going to just stop playing the game like an hour in because of that, but I decided to continue.
What I discovered was a game that has highs and lows when it comes to LGBTQ representation.
You can play as a bi character who can confess his feelings to men and women. *Stares hard at Persona 4 and Persona 5*
You have a gay character that has an interesting story, character development, is unabashedly gay and isn’t a walking stereotype. Nor is his entire arc centered around gay panic.
From what I understand the dialogue from the NPC does get better, but I am not holding my breath.
And the one sapphic kiss scene we get in a Persona game is a kiss of manipulation and not love. So that is a little sad.
But overall, P2IS does try to make an effort. And it definitely makes a better effort than its successor released almost 2 decades later.
Extra content:
Again, Persona 2 doesn’t have social links or a calendar. Please don’t approach it like the other games where you have to fill up your time between dungeons. It is not a necessity, but there are things you can do.
Mu is a casino that you can visit that allows you to play mini games to gain coins that you can use to get weapons, rare items, and even unlock personas. I spent a little too much time at Mu....
You can also talk to NPCs to do side missions. Be careful though. You have to do the side missions in a given amount of time or you may not get rewarded for it. Also P2IS is very much like Final Fantasy 9 where it is much better to go to a place sooner than later, because there may not be a later...
You also have the factory which is an optional dungeon that opens up more and more as you progress through the game.
There is the theater which is a PSP exclusive which has side missions unrelated to the main story that you can play. They are okay.
Wishlist
I hear so many people wanting a remake of P2IS so the game can be more accessible. I am very torn about this. Besides the difficulty and maaybe tweaking the encounter rate a bit, I wouldn’t change a thing. However, I also know that I couldn’t enjoy Shadow of Colossus until the controls were updated. Like I tried and then just gave up.
I honestly don’t want a remake. I don’t trust the Atlus of today with this game.
I do want it to be acknowledged and more accessible though.
But if I had to make a wish list, this is what it would be. Again, this would be a “it would be nice list.”
Make the battles harder.
Update cut scenes? I really like the art for the cut scenes already, but would like some more. Maybe keep the drawings but update the CG?
Social side quests. I do not want social links in Persona 2. However, side quests that allow you to learn more about your character like a social link would, would be something I would be very interested in.
Make the portraits consistent. The art from the original game and the new art put in the PSP game (I am talking about you climax lady) clash so much. Pick one style and stick to it.
I want to fight Ms. Ideal. Let me do it for reasons. Give me a chance to battle her.
I want the option to switch out characters. I love both Jun and Yukki, but I want to be able to play with both.
Let me skip the animation when I create a new Persona.
*EDIT*  I can’t believe I forgot this and feel awful I did, but I do think they should keep the trans NPC, but change the dialogue and the the name. It isn’t the NPC that is the problem but the dialogue and actions. Otherwise, I think it would be ok.
I think that’s it.
Recommendation:
So should you play Persona 2 IS? Short answer, yes. Long answer is that it is complicated. In a few months the game will no longer be accessible for psp consoles. The physical version of the game is ridiculously expensive. You will have to accept the fact this game is on psp and its sequel’s psp version never came to English speaking markets.
You may not like the graphics, gameplay, or that it doesn’t feel like the later persona games. And as much as I love this game, that is alright. You do you. But I truly do think you are missing out on a great game. So if you have the opportunity to do so, yeah absolutely give it a shot.

Star Wars: The Franchise
Back in the mid 70s around Modesto, California, it is doubtful that George Lucas could have imagined that his idea for a space opera would become the second highest grossing movie franchise of all time. There has been some questionable content, however, since the groundbreaking original, and the returns have not been as great. There were also some one-offs that a lot of the younger fans might not be aware of. For my own sanity and organization, here is a listing of all feature length movies in the franchise:
Tumblr media
Star Wars IV: A New Hope (1977) -
Definitely the most successful film (heck, one of the most successful films of all time) that made almost a billion dollars at the box office worldwide...in the 80s. Amazing. The story mimics the hero's journey as described by Joseph Campbell, giving it basically the most satisfying story imaginable. Nobody except for friend of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, thought it would be as successful as it was. This kind of popularity meant there was going to be some sequels and, since George Lucas was the man behind the whole thing, only one man was about to get tasked with future success.
Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) -
This was a TV movie that was made to cash in on the massive popularity of the first movie while the second one was in production. It is terrible. I generally try to hold back judgement and point out subjective opinions, but I think I can say that this made-for-TV movie is objectively bad. It is the equivalent of a variety show, a format which was popular at the time, and it was awful. It is widely considered to be one of the worst visual productions of all time. Just to give a hint of its awfulness, the movie follows the adventures of Chewbacca's Wookie family and they only speak in growls with no interpretation or subtitles. Laughably awful.
The Empire Strikes Back (1980) -
Arguably the best of the films as far as story and plot, this film was actually directed by Irvin Kershner with a George Lucas story adapted to the screen by Lawrence Kasdan. This film is legitimately fantastic and not just new and fun. It is so well written and directed with the famous reveal between Luke and Darth Vader. It also is incredibly downbeat at the end that perfectly sets up the next film. I personally think this is the best example of fine film in the franchise, although it doesn't have as much big action and no giant space laser. Well worth watching and makes the third film a must see.
Return of the Jedi (1983) -
Well, not as good as the first two, but still pretty darn good. This film introduced the Ewoks and the Endor moon battle. Many fans thought that the introduction of living teddy bears was a mistake that distract from the story. What really made the film, apparently, was the whole sequence at the beginning that takes place at Jabba the Hut's palace and involves Princess Leia in a metal bikini. We also find out that Luke and Leia are twins, so that kiss in the second film suddenly becomes kind of awkward. This becomes kind of a theme from here on out: should we disavow canon or put in throwaway lines and scenes to cover things that were mentioned in previous movies. It plagues the prequels.
The Ewok Adventure (1984) -
I get a lot of garbage about it, but I love these movies because I grew up with them. They are not that great and the copy that I saw over and over had ads from the early 80s throughout. Heavy nostalgia. Also, some of the Ewoks were played by established actors from what is now called Episode VI, Warwick Davis as Wicket and Tony Cox as Widdle. It was a lot of fun, but definitely a higher budgeted TV movie. It did become so successful that it got a theater release as Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure. This naming style stuck around for the spin off films that were made in the late 2010s.
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985) -
Hot dang, they made a second one with Wilford Brimley! Both of the Ewok films were thought up by George Lucas and sold to ABC. Both films were also given special Emmy awards for special effects. I can't fault either Ewok film as far as visuals since both got the ILM treatment. I have stated that I liked both of these movies more than some of the prequels, and I stand by that.
Tumblr media
The Phantom Menace (1999) -
The next three films followed the first three episodes in the Star Wars saga and are now generally known as the prequels. They are also pretty widely hated. One reason for that was the introduction of young Anikan Skywalker (eventual Darth Vader) and his growing attachment to Lord Palpatine (Darth Sidious). The problem with the prequels is that it was a path leading to a result that had been established over 20 years ago in the first film. They also introduced a character named Jar-Jar Binks who was just awful. There was a great pod racing scene and an epic Sith vs. Jedi battle that really were the highlights of the film. The music was also pretty epic, but the film was otherwise not that great. It was completely made under the helm of George Lucas and fans were suddenly starting to wonder if he was the genius they had thought him to be. What I consider to be the best YouTube deep dive movie review of all time, a group called Red Letter Media made a seven part review that explains why the movie was such a problem. You can watch the first part and it will auto load all seven here:
(1) Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Review (Part 1 of 7) - YouTube
Attack of the Clones (2002) -
Alright, here is where things really start to go down hill. There is a fine actor by the name of Hayden Christiansen that is just awful in this film. He is given nothing to do for the most part. He is supposed to be this amazing Jedi general, but he spends most of his time walking around speaking in a very monotone voice. He does have some fun piloting scenes, but he is written as such a whiny brat. There are two epic battles (the coliseum and Dooku vs. Yoda) and we get to see a bounty hunter in action. It does seem like a lot of fan service glued together by boring politics and horrifically bad acting.
Revenge of the Sith (2005) -
This is widely considered the worst of the prequel movies and generally laughable at some points. There is supposed to be an epic lava battle at the end, but it is just a bunch of screaming about a failed bromance. We get to see the end of the characters in the prequel and set up the original movies...that were now almost 30 years old. It was unsatisfying and not even slightly worth the wait. It was at this time that George Lucas said that there would never be a seventh episode that would follow the original trilogy.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) -
There was a very compelling series of Star Wars shorts in 2003 made by Genndy Tartakovsky that did very well. George Lucas saw this and decided that a lot of the most interesting Star Wars events had occurred during the time between the prequels and the original series. Lucasfilm put out an animated movie to test the waters and it was so successful that 7 seasons of great animated adventures were made to show the epic battles that were supposed to take place between the second and third episode. I honestly believe that this was the very best space action of the entire franchise.
Tumblr media
The Force Awakens (2015) -
George Lucas sold the Star Wars franchise over to Disney and fans got a new movie that was never supposed to happen. Once Disney came on board, the brand became much more prolific. Until the pandemic, there were plans to put out a Star Wars movie every year for a decade. The first was episode seven and was made by J.J. Abrams. It was similar to the first film (episode IV) in so many ways that fans started to think it was just a remake. It even had a lot of the characters from the original trilogy. It was much better received by fans following the prequels and introduced a storyline that was not already spoiled by previous movies. There was a lot of unnecessary fan service for those who loved the original trilogy. This makes since because it involved Lawrence Kasdan, who helped with the screenplay for episode five and six from the original trilogy.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) -
A full big budget release of a Star Wars movie that wasn't one of the episodes was an interesting idea. It was an entire movie to explain a throwaway line from the original 1977 movie. I lot of people died to get some plans for the big weapon in the first film and people wanted to know exactly how that happened. Actually they didn't. But Disney thought it was a good idea and it seemed like it would make a lot of money (it did). It gave the producers a chance to make a movie with new characters and only mentions of the famous story (this was important because the other actors where making the next episode).
The Last Jedi (2017) -
This was an interesting change of pace from the rest of the films because it seemed to drop the idea of the "chosen one" and say that anyone could be a Jedi. It is basically one giant escape story and is closer to Mad Max in space than it is to the other Star Wars films. It was given in full by Disney to Rian Johnson and it shows. This was the first episode film that had nothing in common with any of the production group from the original trilogy. No Kasdan, no Kirschner, no Lucas, all Disney. It was not very well received.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) -
The worst performing of any of the Star Wars live action feature length films, this was the story of Han Solo. That's it. There is not a lot of history about the character and he is so cool, fans needed to have a stand alone movie about his youth. That's a lie, Disney wanted a movie to come out between episode eight and nine. This was the best that the suits could come up with and it definitely made money, but it is lame.
The Rise of Skywalker (2019) -
Well, the movie completely helmed by Rian Johnson was not popular enough so there was a total retcon situation and this film basically picked up where episode seven left off. It was the same team from episode seven (since that film was so much more popular) and they made a final film that wraps up with a bow. Sort of. There was definitely room in the film world for more Star Wars movies to be made (it is owned by Disney) and I really don't believe it is finished as a franchise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just in case there are people who were nervous that this was the end of the franchise, there is currently a stand alone film called Rogue Squadron that is supposed to come out in 2023. Thank goodness. There was also the popular Mandalorian series on Disney +. But the franchise has been making huge films for almost 45 years now, so maybe it is time to stop. We have the MCU that has made almost twice as much money as the Star Wars universe, so most movie goers have picked their setting that they want to see. Maybe there could be a crossover (I am kidding, please no) and it would be the most watched film of all time.
