1x6 | Spirit of the Goat
The way that Oswald absolutely revels in the drama of this reveal
This moment should also be noted for being the first time Ed saw - and quite possibly heard of - Oswald. And it was love at first sight

“one time Sirius and James walked in and Remus was too into it to stop so you had to throw a pillow at them so they leave”
Oh, now you have to write it, for the love of god now I’m begging you to write it
original fic - remus lupin nsfw headcannons
PAIRING marauders x fem!reader
WARNINGS basically just filthy smut 😔
Tumblr media
Remus was desperate for you. He needed to taste you, to make you his and him yours. As it was nearing the full moon, you understood that he got a lot more… sexual during that time.
The two of you have skipped class, currently in Remus’ dorm, making out on his bed, your shirt unbuttoned and his shirt off. He started to kiss down your body, his hand pulling your underwear down you leg. When he reached i between your legs, his tongue barely grazed your clit, your fingers flew to his hair tangling themselves in it.
Remus wasn't sure what was sweeter, your taste or the sounds falling from your lips. He knew what it took to push you over that edge and enjoyed feeling your body shake. He continued to lap at your clit until you pushed his head away, gasping. He leaned back from you, slipping a finger into you to replace his tongue. You clenched hard around his fingers, cursing lightly when he added a second and curled them up to hit that spot inside of you that he knew would have you seeing stars.
Your hands gripped the sheets tightly, the sound of his name being moaned from you was everything. He could feel when you were close right, right as you were reaching the climax suddenly the door was slammed open. “Hey Remus, why weren’t you in class-“ Sirius started to say but stopped when he saw the view in front of him.
Remus’ face in between your thighs with his fingers in deep. “Oh my god.” James muttered, also being hypnotised by the scene in front of him.
When you heard voices, you glanced towards the door and your eyes widened. You tried to pull Remus away from you but the boy only attached his lips to your clit once again causing you to moan out loud.
Sirius and James stood frozen, their hearts pounding as they beheld the sight before them. For Sirius, he has been crushing on you since third year; for James, it had started in fourth. When Remus revealed he was dating you, jealousy was the only was to explain their emotions.
In this moment, they longed to be in Remus' shoes, but you throwing a pillow at them had snapped them back to reality. Hastily, they retreated from the room, the door slamming behind them.
A/N idk if it’s just me, but I feel like the teacher from 10 things I hate about you when writing smut 💀💀

I just restarted KCD2 and now, with the knowledge of what will happen, something has picked my interest...
Tumblr media
(and of course, it's about hansry again!)
The scene, after Henry falls down the cliff and is carried through the woods by Hans, is very interesting. Henry starts to hallucinate (Idk if it’s because of the fall, the pain, the bleeding wound or all combined) about the most traumatic moment in his still young life - the fall of his home and the death of his parents. He has to relive all these gruesome memories once again - all the deaths and horrible things he had to witness, like the slaughtering of his own parents... The life he only knew was taken away from him in a mere minutes-long bloodbath and all of this he had to see once again in front of his inner eye - with just one little difference: Hans.
With Henry babbling in pain because of his trauma, Hans is there and always tries to shield these memories away - tries to break the cycle. He constantly tries to bring Henry back to reality - telling him that he is not alone, that he doesn’t have to be scared and that everything is alright. He also tries to counter the blame Henry places on himself. When Henry says that he betrayed his parents, Hans reminds him that he never had done this to him.
He chooses to never talk about a hypothetical third person - he just speaks about himself. Henry never let him down. He is there for Henry. They can do this together. Hans provides Henry with an anchor - something he can really feel and see, because Hans is right there. That’s nothing to hallucinate about, it’s something undeniable and that’s exactly what Henry needs in this moment because of his condition. Something real, something he can hold on, so he doesn’t lose himself in this nightmare.
Hans is like Henry’s lifeboat in this situation. He not only carries him physically but also mentally through this life-or-death situation. He is the reason why Henry isn’t losing himself and makes it through the night. And not just that, he also shows Henry a different ending to this gruesome day.
Originally, Henry had to leave everything behind - to flee - scared and alone. But this time, Hans was there. He didn’t lose him and he wasn’t alone - they made it together. Even if everything else was lost, they still have each other. This alone will give them a reason to live through tomorrow and many days beyond - to look forward.
And right there, a light is shining through Henry’s dark dream - breaking the hallucination and leading him back to reality. The whole scene where they see the light in the distance is very beautiful, because for Henry, there is not just the real shine from the cabin, it’s also Hans. His acknowledgment of "the light" is not just related to the light in the distance, it’s also Hans - he is the light that leads him out of these bad memories - back to reality. Where he isn’t alone anymore and hope will shine even through the darkest night.
Tumblr media
If you think about it, the "heart" options were never flirty. They aren't flattering compliments or smug comments - they are statements. Henry talks about real emotions and fears here. "I'm worried for you", "I care about you", "I think we didn't talk enough" - Henry doesn't want to flatter Hans, he isn't even thinking about that. Tbh, I would say he doesn't even intend for a single second to be "romantic" with Hans. Everything he says is not because he wants to flirt - he is just honest. Those are Henry's real emotions, we chose here.
Something was starting to hit me there—especially after Henry awakened the next day. The first thing he wanted to know from the strange woman he had never seen before in his life, who could potentially be an enemy, was: "What is with Hans?", "Will he make it?", "Will you help him?" He wasn't worried about himself or even aware of his own pain at first, until he was sure about what happened to Hans. Even after he realized and felt that his own body was in bad condition, he got up to help his friend. That's when I started to realize that Hans's romance didn't begin with the choice of the first heart option—because there was never a way for the player to influence the development of emotions or to stop them. They were already there, and the only decision we were allowed to make was whether to give Hans the courage to show them openly in the end and for Henry to understand them.
Tumblr media
The other options are mostly jokes or "don't worry" comments - things he says to hide his own fears or to brush off a situation. Statements like "oh come on, just stop talking and move on" don't sound like Henry at all. Henry is caring and nice, he is helpful and always tries to be fair. He fights with his own demons, but he will always put himself aside to fight for someone else's rights. He can be a bit foolish, but he wants to learn as much as possible and listen to people's stories.
For me, it looks like the only "real" romance option is the last one. And even there, it's not about the first interaction or the first kiss - these goes straight to Hans. But he wouldn't have done it without our help to ensure Henry stays true to himself, his emotions, and Hans. What we choose as players is not to romance Hans, we choose for Henry to realize the true nature of his own feelings.
When he pulls away from the first kiss and takes a few steps back, you can see his confusion. He isn't disgusted or angry, he isn't even scared about "the sin" they just committed. He is just confused because we helped him realize why he did all those things. None of what Henry ever said to Hans was smug or even particularly romantic, he just always spoke the truth. He spoke from his heart about things he genuinely felt and it didn't feel specifically romantic because they were just honest emotions. Henry never worried about what he said - he never feared hiding his feelings because it felt natural to talk this way to Hans. There was never a reason to hide anything.
Henry wears his heart on his sleeve whenever he talking with Hans and that's why he just now realizes what all of this means - for Hans, for himself, for both of them and their future. Only then our choices take effect, only then does Henry kiss Hans and follow his feelings. I wouldn't say that, at this point, he fully understands what this is between them, but he is willing to follow this path. He isn't disgusted or afraid, he expects whatever this new, clearer situation is - even if he can't put a name to it yet. He wants to continue and follow his heart, he isn't running away, which is something Henry always reminds himself and others not to do. He will never run away again and he isn't doing it now or in the future. Whatever comes next, Henry is willing to face it because there is nothing to regret. He didn't run away, he was honest and he wanted this - even if he just now realizes it.
Tumblr media
Just a little random note for the end, that I think is very interesting: Hans's romance is not a side quest, it's completely intertwined with the main campaign. Every important decision Henry made with him took place in the main quest. Sure, you sometimes didn't necessarily have to speak to him, but the dialogues still occurred during main events. For example, during the robbery - you don't have to talk to Hans, but the dialogue happens there.
In contrast, with Katherine or Rosa, you have to do some side activities, which makes their stories feel more excluded. Hans's romance is part of the main story, which really gives this route a more canon-vibe than the girls' romances.

❝ I Reincarnated Into a Shitty Chirstmas Romance Movie and My Love Interest is a Yandere?! ❞
✎ featuring my creature, Ezra Valentine :3 this is just ezra being a weirdo, some lore for my game? idk blawg just read it and you'll find out
✎ special shoutout tags to these people @yandere-yearnings @forbidden-sunlight @moyazaika @bun3333s @yanderenightmare @cumtastiics @ozzgin
Tumblr media
Your "childhood friend" is a bit of a weirdo, you think.
Staring at you for far too long, lingering touches that suggest that he's more than just a bit interested in you, and the weird random confessions about how he wants to get crushed under the heel of your right shoe...
It's just weird.
You've reincarnated into a shitty christmas romance movie. And your "childhood friend", aka the love interest, aka Ezra Valentine, has a crush on the main character, you. Obviously.
You don't even know why you watched this movie in the first place. Boredom, maybe? Yeah, probably was because you started dozing off after hour 1 of the movie. The movie was... 1 and a half hour long? It wasn't even rated that high. Like a... 6.9 at best.
And now you're stuck here all because you watched this shitty movie with an even shittier plot. Where the main character left the small town for a big city, came back home to celebrate christmas and meets childhood friend, decides to give up big city life because they both fall for one another.
Just like every other damn Mallhark movie. Predictable, boring, absolutely TRASH.
You don't even know why or how you got reincarnated into this damned movie in the first place! Did you fucking pass away in your sleep??? Actually just die from fucking boredom???
Well it's no use thinking about that now because you've been stuck in here for a while now. You think that you're maybe about halfway through the original plot, where Ezra and the old mc were supposed to have some bonding time together and shit. But that's not the case now, because you've changed the plot.
And you're realizing that this "childhood friend" of yours... Is acting a little bit differently.
You don't remember him being that much of a weirdo in the original movie. If you remember correctly,he was just like, a little bit of a shy loser boy who was infatuated with the MC and liked gaming. But now... Now he's, what, a masochist? Or did they just not add that fact into the movie? You couldn't have forgotten. If the love interest was openly a weirdo like he is to you, you wouldn't have dozed off in the first place. Just now, he literally asked to be crushed under your right shoe. Crushed. Under. Your. Shoe. How the hell is that boring? You'd be 101% AWAKE. You love freaks more than anything, damn!
Now that you think about it, he's more than just a bit of a weirdo.
He's been calling and acting like he's your boyfriend. Hell, he acts like a CLINGY boyfriend too. Asking where you're going, clinging to you, giving you those damned boba eyes everytime you talk to others, specifically dudes. Fun fact but you wish he'd stop abusing those eyes of his because fuck, how can you resist him when he's looking at you like that?
Worse of it all, you can't do anything. Not when your key out and helper, Ai, said to act cool and to not arouse any suspicion from him.
Ai's also another character in this movie by the way. His character trope: the hot side character that barely gets screentime and is also sentient. And right now, he's helping you find a way back to your world... Meanwhile you've been stuck in Ezra's apartment under the guise of a mandatory childhood bestie sleepover.
It's been days since you've actually last seen Ai in person because of how much Ezra, your "childhood friend", has been clinging to you. In just the past 3 days, he's made you watch the entire fnaf lore theory THRICE. And not once have you stepped outside his apartment. Not because you don't want to, but because he'd always find some bullshit excuse to keep you with him.
"O-oh but kitty you'd miss this very important scene... Where freddy goes hurhurhuhr"
"Kitty! Kitty you can't leave now! We have to watch it again! What? We watch it more times so it gets engrained into our brains! That's just common sense!"
"Keeping you h-hostage?! I'm not! All friend do this! It's just u-um, friend bonding time! We haven't been around each other in so long you know..."
It's weird. Just plain weird.
Thankfully you still have your phone so you could occassionally sneak a message or two to Ai, informing him of your current situation. As long as that black haired man baby doesn't see everything is fine...
y/n: currently watching a new video, thank gyatt for that
y/n: would actually jump if i have to watch more fnaf
y/n: erm... lowkey think this is worse though... its a video about danganronpa
Ai: don't worry, i'll be there to save you in a bit
Ai: i might have found a way to get you out of here
y/n: fr? ty for that silly goober :3 all while im chilling on the couch having some me time :333 ur so skibidi
"A-ahem! y/n who are you texting..?"
Shit. This damned guy! What does he think he's doing? Just popping up the second you finally have some alone time?! Wasn't he passed out from lunch just minutes ago???
"Erm... Just a friend?"
Ezra stares at you with wide round eyes, lps turning down into a frown before he sits uncomfortably close, pressing his long, lanky body against yours. Always the tall skinny guys that are the biggest weirdos man.
"Just a... friend?"
"Yeah, just a friend."
I mean, it wasn't wrong. Ai really was just a friend to you. Or at least that's what you think. To Ezra and his fucked up mind... Maybe you were abandoning him? And now he's jealous and might want to go batshit crazy on AI?
Haha! No way that would happen! Ezra, no matter how crazy he is, wouldn't go that far! He's just a loser who has an added interest in you now after all!
The look in his eyes say otherwise though.
"But I'm your friend, aren't I?"
Cold, dark, obsessive.
The way he stared at you sent literal chills down your spine. He had never looked at you in such a way before. Pathetic and needy, yes. But never this... Whatever the hell this was.
You back into the fabric of the seat, feeling a cold sweat line the skin of your forehead. All of a sudden, the room feels all too small and it's like you're trapped in his apartment with no way to escape.
It was suffocating.
"I'm the only friend you need. The only one you need, y/n."
You don't really recall a time where he's called you y/n so easily. It's always some stupid petname like kitty. And goddamn it, you wish he'd just say that instead. Hearing him call your name while he's staring into your very soul like this is making you feel like you're about to shit your pants.
"U-uh, okay dude chill out. You're my dearest friend, alright? Look let's jsut go back to watching that danganronpa analysis..."
And just like that, the terrifying aura IMMEDIATELY disappears and you're left with a sopping wet puppy of a man. You decide to make the first move, fiddling with the remote as you stand up and move close to the coffee table. Anythinng to gte away from this weird bipolar guy. How the hell did he develop this? A new character arc maybe?
In the midst of you trying to look anywhere but Ezra, you fail to realize that he had already taken your phone, leaving you with no way to contact Ai now.
"Now you'll never have another friend again..."
"What was that?"
"O-oh I said now you'll never be bored again! Haha!"
Right, totally what he said.

ive been really busy and wasn't able to finish this in time for halloween! but i hope someone will enjoy these now regardless lol, more details and DL under the cut!
its no secret i like to obsessively pose scenes in sims 2 lol and i edited some various "movie" posters (they aren't real movies obv). I tried to keep them with a pretty true-to-sims-energy style. Some of them have video game energy and could be used in gaming stores too!
Tumblr media
the posters come on artig and also surfing the universe for super collection peeps. Idk why I put them on a poster that isn't nearly the same aspect ratio, it made it way harder for no reason lol. The films are:
Blood in the Water (tagline: at the beach...looking like a snack)
Phantom Photo (j horror-inspired, you can prob guess the game! :P)
A Generous Man (a Rod Humble horror movie..whats in the box!!)
Virus Hunters (tagline: the best way to kill a virus...is with a gun)
Game Day (tagline: there's no "I" in scream)
Tumblr media
here's how the artig recolors look on various add-ons by @littlelittlesimmies . Sadly as you can see the posters get a bit cut-off on the artig poster add-on because I extended outside of artig's white border and didn't realize they got cut off until late in the process ;_;
Tumblr media
i made the artig ones at 1024 originally so included them just in case someone wants hq textures. up close you can tell a difference, but from normal game distance they look essentially the same. So you can pick between 512 or 1024 in the folder.
DOWNLOAD BOX compressorized and swatch included
credits: textures from freepik, blood on sims leg in the shark movie poster is from the preview pic of zerographic's layerable facial wounds at mts, and simlish fonts by ChèreIndolente, franzilla, ozyman4, and ajaysims 1 2
Tumblr media
one of the unedited screenshots from in-game just for fun lol, unfortunately the girl at the bottom's i'm-not-really-helping-that-much flip-flop foot pose didn't make it into the final poster

some favourite shots I did for episode 6... it was so fun crafting the final bridge scene from Travis' script, and seriously all the credit for the amazing opening seq goes to our EP Aaron for taking the emotion in Yaz's exposure therapy to the next level!
Inspo for this ep mainly came from the Alebrijes attack and car chase boards from the Coco blu-ray deleted scenes. Seriously yall, if you're an aspiring board artist, go watch those, they're all masterclasses in camera, framing, and acting.
Some thoughts below about these boards if yall are interested...
Becklespinaxes - there was a LOT of research that went into becklespinaxes (aka altispinaxes) to make this bridge scene happen. In the original script, there was the idea that Blondie (the yellow becklespinax) would be ramming and spinning the side of the van all over the bridge from the beginning, all while ben was still driving forward and Sammy was trying to climb the side latter of the van and into Yaz's window. - I think in writing it made for a really rad scene, but there were some concerns that the physics of all of that, as well as some staging issues, so I dove into becklespinax research to see if some of these problems could be fixed by grounding the conflict in the dino's hunting/attack styles - From what I can remember, as a mid-sized theropod, the becklespinax would've hunted small sauropods and the like, not van-sized dinos, so having her ramming the side of the van was out. Instead, I theorized the becklespinax would more likely be interested in rooting out the tastey treats inside, like a bird fishing out grubs from inside a tree or log. Thus, Blondie jamming her head into the window was born - From there on I tried to keep the van-and-dino physics and behaviours as grounded as possible, but i'll be the first to admit that physics was never my strong suit and sometimes the plot's just gotta come first over science
One detail I loved that unfortunately seemed to get passed over in animation was the way the second becklespinax, Brownie, entered the shot from behind the camera, and covered up the "NOW LEAVING DINOSAUR FREE ZONE" to just be "NOW DINOSAUR ZONE". Corny, I know! But it felt right and I was heartbroken to see that it wasn't caught in time to be able to go back and change it
Also no heart by sammy's name on yaz's phone :( idk why, sorry gang
About boards, an interesting thing to keep in mind was that even though this bridge may seem like a pretty isolated and simple set, there were actually several moments/shots that I didn't end up using because they revealed too much of the background, specifically the exterior island set and the exterior mainland sets that connected to the bridge! That's right, in the actual set models, those parts are just the cliff ledges and a bit on the sides, everything else would have to be what's called a paintover. That's something for aspiring storyboard artists to keep in mind about working on 3D TV shows: the sets come before storyboards in the pipeline, so often you have to make what you want to do work to the set, and not the other way around like in feature!

I wasn't expecting it to take this long, but after a million distractions, I'm back to going through the LotR audio commentaries and taking note of any interesting tidbits I haven't heard before.
Please enjoy my notes on the RotK design team commentary with Richard Taylor, Tania Rodger, Grant Major, Alan Lee, John Howe, Dan Hennah, and Chris Hennah:
They had to make Deagol's ears out of waterproof gelatin rather than latex because he was going to fall in the water, and the normal latex ears would have come off. I guess they must have done the same any other time a Hobbit got submerged, but they didn't say that.
The fish that Gollum eats at the beginning is made from some kind of edible gelatin so he could actually bite into it. They also had another prop fish that wasn't edible that they gave Andy Serkis to keep at the end XD
The little stone hollow thing where Frodo and Sam are sleeping for their first scene in the movie was a set they built with a removable back wall so they could get a camera in to shoot it from the back as well as the front. Why did I never think of that before?
There were a couple of extra shots they needed of Orthanc in the background to finish up the movie, but they hadn't managed to get the footage from the miniatures (and I guess the miniatures were gone by that point? idk). So they took one of the model collectibles Weta had made and took some photos of it out in the parking lot XD
Whoooooaaaa! Okay, so Alan Lee talks about how, in legends, they say that you have to kill a wizard three times for him to stay dead. And Saruman dies "three times" - first he's stabbed, then he's impaled, then he's drowned. So Saruman is dead dead. Dare I say it? This is...I think this is a better death than the one in the book ._.
They even put carvings on the crossbeams underneath the seats of the chairs in Edoras! You are never ever going to see them, but that was their dedication to making everything feel authentic. That's what sets this apart from so many fantasy movies and shows made these days.
Red in the costumes is meant to suggest royalty. That's why Aragorn, Boromir, Theoden, and Theodred all have red in their costumes - as well as Bilbo and Frodo! You're meant to look at someone wearing red and unconsciously think, "there's something regal about them."
John Howe points out that you probably wouldn't ever reforge a sword like they do with Narsil, at least not in the sense of putting the pieces back together, because it wouldn't be as strong as it was originally. (You could melt it down and start over again, of course.) But, he reminds us, these are the Elves, and it's more of a symbolic thing anyway.
The great hall in Minas Tirith was inspired by Charlemagne's chapel (and Byzantine architecture was one of the main influences on the design of Gondor in general).
The statue of the king in Ithilien was made out of polystyrene, which you would think would be pretty light, but it was so huge it was actually very heavy. They had to transport it to the location in three pieces: the base, the body, and the head. And to lift one on top of each other, they had to rig a sort of pulley system over the limb of a tree, using a four-wheel drive truck to pull it. But they discovered that the first truck wasn't getting enough traction, so they hooked a second truck up to it, and ended up pulling the first truck up into the air along with the statue!
They created fourteen new weapons just to put in the background of the armory in the scene where the Witch-King is getting ready for battle @_@
John Howe said that his inspiration for Minas Morgul was...getting his wisdom teeth pulled??? He describes a metal clamp digging into the perfectly healthy enamel of his tooth to pull it out, and draws a parallel to the metal pieces the orcs fitted to the top of the pristine white parapets, staining and violating them. Um...thanks, I could've done without that visual, John.
I can't believe I never thought about this before, but there's a little wooden roof over the pile of wood for the beacon that Pippin lights. The reasoning behind that is you need some kind of cover to keep the wood more or less dry for when it needs to be lit in an emergency. The beacon will burn away the wooden roof, but it can be replaced easily enough, and it's worth it to be able to quickly light the beacon.
A lot of the saddles they used were ordered from the Indian military, because they had a good, old-fashioned sort of look to them. Then they would add onto the saddles with things that would make them look distinctly Rohirric, rather than Indian.
Alan Lee's daughter worked on some of the figures in the doors of Minas Tirith!
John Howe goes off on this whole tangent about how there's no religion or religious structures in Middle-Earth, and why that might be, but the whole time I was just sitting there going, "...have you never read The Silmarillion????"
Because they had to make over a hundred suits of Gondorian armor, other than the hero suits, they couldn't make each one exactly the right size for the man who would wear it, so the casting department had to only get actors within a certain range of size. They also built the suits of armor with sliding pieces, so they could be somewhat fitted to different sizes.
The horses started out as being part of the art department's responsibility, but as time went on, there were just so many horses they had to keep track of (and the various liveries they would have to be fitted out with) that they had to make a separate horse department to oversee it all.
Because so much of the movie was filmed on-location, in some very remote locations, they had to make a sort of caravan of mobile repair stations that they could take with them. They had all the tools and crew necessary on hand wherever they went so they could repair broken props or ripped costumes, reapply makeup for gore and injuries, take nicks out of the edge of weapons.... It was really like moving an army around!
For the dream where the Evenstar breaks, they made a version of it that was five times bigger than normal, out of a very brittle resin. Then they made an oversized section of the floor and dropped it from a great height so it would completely shatter in a dramatic way like that.
Anduril was John Howe's design. He based it on a sword belonging to a friend of his in Germany, which to him is the ideal sword, the most beautiful sword. He also talked a bit about how Men were taller and bigger in the First and Second Ages, so their swords would have been longer.
John Howe: "Why do people criticize Tolkien for not developing his characters sufficiently? I cannot fathom that kind of criticism. I think it's done by people who don't read between the lines."
Richard Taylor said they had a lot of fun gathering up all the skulls after each take in the Paths of the Dead to put back up at the top so they could be poured down again. Apparently Viggo liked to gather them up and try to throw them at the crew members! "Many hours of skullduggery was to be had," as Richard put it XD
Apparently, they'd made dozens of really finely detailed silicone heads to be lobbed over the wall of Minas Tirith, but then all but one of them were stolen! So they had to quickly put together some crude latex ones to use in the shoot instead (one of which the mayor of Wellington threw). They didn't talk about this, but I'm assuming the one good head that was left is the one that gets a close-up. You have to wonder who out there was sitting around with a bunch of highly realistic latex severed heads in his basement or something....
While most of the siege towers are miniatures or CG, they built the top third of one and put it on tracks so they could move it up against the wall. They built the set with breakable ramparts for when the little drawbridge thing crashes down.
They had the same trouble in Minas Tirith that they did in Helm's Deep, with the battering ram being too heavy for the stunties to lift. But they never actually explained how they got around that problem, if it was the same solution or not :/ All they said was that they had replaceable panels in the doors, in case they were damaged by the battering ram.
In order to make Shelob's webs, they had to heat up two polymers and mix them together to make the stringy, sticky material. In order to mix them, they had to be heated up to 220 degrees C, but if they got up to 228 degrees, they would burst into flame @_@ After they were heated and mixed, they would dribble the mixture on top of a vat of water, where it would cool in spiderweb-like shapes. Then they would lift it out on a frame, and they could carefully place it on the set. One time, the polymers did burst into flame, and they were running out of fire extinguishers to put it out! O.O Eventually, they did call the fire department, who said they'd done everything the fire department would have done. They got the fire put out, but it was a nerve-wracking moment, because the room where they were making the webs was connected to the studio, so it could have been disastrous D:
Bernard Shaw apparently got the idea to do that whole bit where he knocks his sword against the row of spears when he saw the collection of spears all lined up in a row in the art department.
The "oil" that Denethor pours over himself and Faramir is a mixture of glycerin and water. (I always wonder about these things, so I'm really glad they mentioned it.)
When they were filming the pyre scene, they had a silicone dummy for Faramir on the burning pyre. Apparently somebody on the crew brought "David Wenham" a cup of coffee over because they thought he'd fallen asleep on the side of the set, only to discover that it was a dummy! XD
The horse rig they made for close-up work of people on horseback got affectionately nicknamed "the Phony Pony." The first day they brought it on set, Peter Jackson got up on it and "rode" the horse, making the whole crew laugh XD
One of the ideas that Peter Jackson came up with for the mumakil in a brainstorming session (which Richard Taylor says he's still not sure if PJ was serious about or not) was that they could suck up several riders in its trunk and then fire them out like bullets. I'm...really glad they didn't go with that, whether PJ was serious or not <_<
Alan Lee says that the first time he saw the dead mumakil that Weta made for the set, the body was hollow, and some of the crew had set up a TV inside it and were watching a rugby game XD
The last miniature they built for LotR was the Minas Tirith docks where the Corsair ships come in. It kept getting put off until almost the end of the shoot, so they only had five days to put it together! @_@
All of the dead horses are fake, of course, so Weta had to make them all. They were made of lightweight material, so each day you'd see the set dressers just kind of casually carrying in a whole dead horse and then picking one up from the battlefield afterwards like it's no big deal. They had to do a lot of repairs to the dead horses, because the legs and ears kept falling off or getting bent the wrong way XD
The stone Watchers in Cirith Ungol have Maori influence in their design. I wish they'd talked about that in more detail, but it was just mentioned in passing.
They were concerned about the various copies of the One Ring being stolen, so they kept it in a lunchbox that was labeled "Screws."
The scene where Frodo and Sam join the orc convoy was filmed on location up on a mountain, so they had to deal with a whole bunch of extras in extensive prosthetics and armor, which would make them sweat while they were moving around, but then when the camera wasn't rolling, it would be a challenge to keep them warm. The way they did most of the orcs was that they wore a rubber mask and then a helmet, and they would need to take them off at regular intervals so the actors could get some air. So in between takes, after the director called, "Cut!" there would also be a cry of, "Heads off!" That meant the dressers would have to rush into the crowd and quickly take off the extras' helmets and masks XD
Because the crew was committed to not damaging any of the flora and fauna in the places where they were filming, even in the location that became the plains of Mordor that Frodo and Sam struggle across, there were little flowers and moss that they wanted to protect (and it was a national park). So they would lay down carpets on the ground for people to walk on, so they wouldn't damage the plant life. I'm sure that made for a strange sight, Frodo and Sam struggling in tattered clothing over rocks and boulders, surrounded by perfectly ordinary rugs XD
To do the decapitation of the Mouth of Sauron, they had a headless dummy sitting there, and Viggo would swipe his sword where the head should be. Then Weta Digital put in the head afterwards.
The lava in Mount Doom was mostly a miniature (except for the set where Sean and Elijah did their part), made from methyl cellulose and other things to make it look like lava. They set it up on a table that they would tilt so it would flow down around the model boulders made from urethane.
Richard Taylor said that, at that time, no one had really done a very good CG bird, so he was especially pleased at how the eagles turned out.
There were about 400 people working in the art department total, and most of them had never worked in the film industry before! @_@
Ngila Dickson's philosophy for the Elves was that none of their "crowns" or headpieces would go upwards, but would fit close around their heads and then go down. That's one of those things I've subconsciously noticed all these years, but never really thought about before.
Apparently, a little bit of the graphite used on Aragorn's armor in the coronation scene kind of puffed out when he and Arwen go in for their kiss, and got on Arwen's dress D: And some well-meaning person tried to rub it off, but only succeeded in spreading it around further, thus ruining the dress. And most of the female characters only had one copy of each costume, because all except for Eowyn don't see battle and thus don't need different versions with varying amounts of wear and tear. They're just made to wear in one or two scenes of them looking pretty and walking through a room. But alas, that lovely green dress was ruined.
They didn't have much time with Sir Ian Holm, so they only had a week to get a mold of his face and make the old-age prosthetics for the Grey Havens. But then word came down that he didn't want to have prosthetics, so they were to just make him look old with makeup. They were really disappointed, but then on the day, Ian Holm saw the prosthetics sitting off in the corner and asked what it was. When they explained, he said it wasn't true, and insisted on them putting the prosthetics on instead.
One thing that was really impressed upon me during this whole commentary (over all three movies) was just how much love and joy all of the crew had for the project. Sometimes you watch a movie or read a book that really means a lot to you, that's changed your life, and you wonder if the people who made it fully grasp what a beautiful thing they've created. These people know. They were fully aware, from start to finish, that they were making something truly great and worthy of praise. And I think that's beautiful.

The frames of the video from the comic in the previous post. I experimented a lot with this, it was really fun to work with this chunky brush I found. Also the first time I draw the Reaper of Destruction as it was before Lumity!
More comments under the cut+a frame I ended up scrapping!
I'll go by order of appearance, because it's basically a chronological retelling of the events of part 1.
So the first frame is the least fancy because it was the first and I didn't nail down a style for this yet lol. It shows Ghost and Soap's first true meeting, in chapter 1, where Ghost helps Soap when he gets impaled by a rebar.
The second frame jumps to chapter 8, when Ghost first put Soap in Limbo. The triangle around them was a later addition, taken from the next frame. I love this scene, it's so fun to see it drawn out now :)
The third frame was the most important one to nail the style. I painted a whole frame, only to come back to it the next day and restart from almost 0.
This is the original third frame
Tumblr media
They both show the same event - chapter 21, the second time Soap is thrown into Limbo. The difference is, one shows a more literal image of what happened, and the other is more symbolic.
And by now I think you know how much I love symbolism lol
What also bothered me with the scraped painting is that the composition isn't central, and the entire pose, while more dynamic, isn't fitting the mural feel the rest has.
There's an even earlier version of the scrapped painting, with Soap's face, but nowhere else there are faces in these series, so I went wild with it and covered it with flames. He had them behind him already, as the description of this scene in the fic says Soap had a helo of fire behind him.
(also hated how Limbo's victims looked in the scrapped version like... ew lol)
There wasn't a real reason to add the circles around Soap. I just wanted to lean more heavily into the mural style. But I took that circle motif to the end, after that, and added it to Ghost as well, hence the triangle.
Soap has one skeletal hand, and one palm. That one is on purpose, to show he's hanging in between life and death.
The fourth frame is pretty self-explanatory, it shows the part in chapter 21 where Soap gets the dark marks on his forearm. If the colors look weird in that one, it's because I messed with them so much I couldn't tell if they look good anymore on not
The fifth frame shows another favorite moment of mine, the moment Ghost gets his marks, the white tear tracks, when he finally notices Soap fighting in the void.
The sixth frame is my favorite of the bunch. Soap and Ghost, the triangle and circle combined. The moment they killed Graves, Ghost in full control of his subjects, Soap with his sword of white fire and army of burning moths. They look so scary in this one I love them
The seventh frame shows Void and Destruction. Void was straight forward, I've drawn it a few times before, but I had to make a more detailed design for Destruction, and I only had the very first sketches I made for Revenant AU to go off of, as well as Lumity's design. Idk why I designed Lumity before Destruction, but that's how it is. I wanted Destruction melting, like it can't handle its own heat.
The eighth frame is of Void and Destruction combining. In the fic they had in-between states, it didn't look like this, but for the sake of the video I thought it'd be nicer to have a clear frame of them combining.
The ninth and last frame is of our beloved Lumity. Their design is a little more detailed than the drawing I made a while back. This frame is also the only one that interacts with the foreground, aka Makarov. I think he was jump-scared, don't know how much that comes across.
Damn I had a lot to write. Well, when given the opportunity to ramble...

here's how armand can still be bengali
why do i think so? no other good reason than i am bengali myself and i want armand to be. (also assad zaman's family is from bangladesh. bengali solidarity!!!)
bengal: the region in south asia comprising present-day bangladesh and the indian states of west bengal, odisha, assam and parts of bihar.
armand said in the season one finale, that takes place in 2022, he is a 514 year old vampire. is it 514 years including or excluding his human years? let's go with including. that means armand would have been born in 1508.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now what was going on in india and bengal in 1508? well, the mughals hadn't come to india yet; it's still about two decades before babur makes his way here. delhi was under the rule of the lodi dynasty, the delhi sultanate was in its dying days. most of north india, mainly uttar pradesh and bihar was under the jaunpur sultanate. bengal was still it's own independent kingdom, called the bengal sultanate. alauddin hussain shah had just seized power and become the sultan of bengal in 1494, beginning the hussain shahi dynasty (they ruled in bengal till 1538 when the mughals captured the region).
india as a country did not exist yet. even it's conception would be a few centuries away still. the subcontinent was a collection of big and small kingdoms and sultanates, constantly warring amongst themselves, some ruled by hindu rulers others by muslims, each with their own distinct histories and cultures. bengal was one of the most prosperous and thriving among them. the bangla language and bengali culture was just beginning to develop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
vasco da gama had arrived in india in 1498, landing at kozhikode on the malabar coast. this began the arrival of the portugese in india, and soon other european colonialists followed. they soon set up their capital in goa, built forts all along the western coast and established trade through obtaining licenses and exclusive permits from local rulers. they first made their way to the bay of bengal region around 1516, with the first portugese representative- a guy called joao coelho- coming to chittagong (present day bangladesh). the first factory was set up in chittagong the next year.
the portugese traded in spices and cotton and fruits and muslin and also slaves. the european indian ocean slave trade began with the coming of the portugese in the early 16th century. slavery in south asian societies had obviously existed long before, and it was a deeply complex and diverse system of dependency and regimes of slavery. slavery of youth and children was also pretty prevalent: it would not be uncommon for poor, farming families to sell away themselves or their children to zamindars (landlords) and colonial overlords in desperation. there were many, many cases of young children being forced to get onboard ships where they'd be held agains their will and taken to europe, the americas or south-east asia. goa and lisbon were the two cities that linked the movement of goods and people between the indian and atlantic oceans, but goa wasn't the only place where enslaved children were traded in portugese india nor lisbon the only european they were taken to.
one of those kids might as well have been arun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i know the brief glimpse at the talamasca files showed armand's origin to be in delhi but in this particular scene he clearly says that he was sent *to* delhi, thinking he was going to work on a merchant boat.
this is just a theory i have btw. armand could've been from maharastra or the deccan as well idk. anyway.
armand is a monster, a vicious, villanious creature of unfathomable powers and ferocity. but he is also so deeply tragic. he had been forcibly torn away from his people and his land. he has no memory of his family or his humanity. he has lived for over half a millenium. the india he might've known hasn't existed for centuries, and he never got to know the one that exists today. the bangla he might've spoken no one remembers anymore. he has nothing left of the human he was except that name.
further readings (STRONGLY SUGGESTED!!!):

can you elaborate more on your thought process here?
“in a shocking and completely predictable turn of events, felassan is actually the revolutionary solas thinks he is”
yes! (forewarning: so many ppl on here are actual analytic geniuses and i am 10000% no such thing.)
so, to me, solas thinks of himself as an anti-hero when i would say he's an anti-villain. he reads himself as "tragic" but ultimately thinks of his goal as "good", and will proselytize even the most uninterested party (such as varric, sera, and iron bull) in demeaning and often racist ways (for example, see solas repeatedly calling the qunari "savages" and "brutes" to iron bull's face).
he is quick to abandon, betray, and kill anyone as long as he deems it necessary, and imo, there is a profound lack of loyalty and integrity "true" abolitionists/revolutionary leaders need to possess. after all, despite a lot of people ignoring epler telling us that solas abandoned his army of freed elves (and fine, that's fair since this is all fiction anwyay) bc he realized he wasn't "management material", i personally think it's a perfect characterization of who solas actually is—that of a distorted, warped spirit who no longer resembles his original ideal but attempts to convince himself and those around him that his ultimate purposes are still that ideal... which is why i think felassan is such a nice counterpart to this idea—
bc in veilguard, when we see flashbacks of felassan's growing alarm of solas's disregard for the lives of their soldiers, he is unwilling to part with his friend out of a sense of loyalty and general hope that the ends will justify the means. ironically, i think felassan was saved from corruption by solas entering uthenera because this could've easily led to him forever excusing away solas's actions, just as solas did for mythal for thousands of years.
so now we have felassan, wandering the world and watching it evolve first-hand in a way which the ancient elves did not get a chance to do. idk if we ever got confirmation that he also entered uthenera at some point (if we did, i missed it), but in time, he got to bond with the "modern" elves in an authentic manner which solas decided was counterintuitive after waking (although how he ever thought walking up to a dalish clan and pronouncing his godhood was EVER a good idea is beyond me, tho i forget if that was actually the case or if i'm making that shit up), leading him to come to the conclusion that the elves are actually people after all, which solas could not do without help from the inquisition.
i could keep going, but basically, felassan's capacity to form and experience real friendships (and not rely on abandonment, manipulation, or outright murder as a foundation or last resort for those friendships), TEACH (not convince) those willing to learn (instead of proselytizing), and evolve his own personal perspectives (and then stay ACCOUNTABLE to those perspectives and act in alignment with them), are all antithetical to the actions we see solas take in inquisition, trespasser, and veilguard. only when you trick him in veilguard's ending scene does he begin to understand his own foolishness (tho i have no doubt he will never understand the depth of that foolishness unless he sheds his mortal body and somehow regains his true essence) because even if you choose to redeem him, he ignores rook's/the inquisitor's pleas to just stop until mythal comes out to "release him" from his service. (which i'm sure he would also use to excuse his actions.)
to me, felassan is the archetype of the empathetic, considerate, loyal, and steadfast revolutionary. not solas. his ability to learn, trust others, and take responsibility for his actions are what makes me think so. and i wish we got to see more of him in veilguard :(

do you have any backstory theory for Alastor and do you think he'd have any sort of personality disorder or disorder in general?
I always thought about his last breath LOL
Not that I'm implying he does have a personality disorder, but his behaviors (and even mentality) are close to Schizoids.
Tumblr media
+ (from an old convo with Munnie talking about Amir saying 'There's a surprise in Alastor's backstory') And I just hoped, ' Dear season 2, let it be an unexplained scene or cut, and I'll die of happiness.'
yk- a cinematic scene even- would he turn as he saw something as if time freezes and he didn't have the chance to react/dodge.
Whatever! Something unexpected to have but like also expected??? idk how to explain it properly...well, ELEMENT OF SURPRISE DUH-- uhh leaves the audience like 'hUH? What was that? WHO WAS THAT? whAT???'
So... Sticking to the origin of Alastor, I dwell on his death along with the idea: that maybe he wasn't mistakenly shot, but instead hunted. A plot twist is that the hunter is likely someone he knows/had bad blood with at that time. Then what if in his last moment (referencing the storyboard) he sees this- entity looming over him. Til' maybe even in between life/death, he meets the same entity in which it possibly offered him a deal...?? Then you connect that to the 'seven years absence' by seeing that entity again, but we would know nothing much about it, but why does he keep seeing it? or What was his connection to it?
You're basically dealing open book at this point. However, you're faced with encrypted letters.
Chat, this is what you get when you spotlight a mysterious character.

The Great Wave - Chapter 19 Review
‼️SPOILERS FOR THE CHAPTER‼️
Y'all I remember when I used to think that the chapter cover was supposed to be a yumalia shower scene from that one ankama tweet mentioning Cathiane 😭😭😭😭
Like idk why we thought that this would've been THE shower scene that Ankama had mysteriously mentioned through a meme of all things. I can't speak for everyone, but the reason why I personally thought that this would've been a yumalia shower scene was because I thought that her hair seemed like it wasn't tied up in the chapter cover. And whenever we'd see her hair let loose in the Great Wave, it would usually mean that she'd be dominating Yugo or would share a very intimate moment with him.
This chapter ended up being the latter. Because it wasn't a shower scene.
It might be something related to it.
But before I explain all that, let's first focus on where we left off with Joris explaining Grougalorasalar's deal to Yugo and Amalia.
Tumblr media
I mean Yugo come on....
I get that Grougalorasalar is a hottie who likes to cause shitty problems for everyone due to his color but the only people in Yugo's race that ended up being big deals for the world were Yugo himself, Qilby, and their mother the Goddess Eliatrope. Three people aren't a lot to suddenly have the world's nations hate an entire race but when these very same three people are supposed to be two primordial eliatropes and their goddess, then yeah...you might have fucked up a bit too hard.
Tumblr media
Joris agrees.
Omg yes, Joris hates his past tormentor, but even he thinks that he's right in a sense.
Tumblr media
"Do what I tell you, not what I do."
PLEASE OMG HE COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER‼️‼️‼️
I love how JORIS just soothes his tired eyes and describes Grougalorasalar in only a few words while clearly looking disappointed but not surprised.
Like THIS is literally Grougalorasalar's quote! If someone had to describe him in a few words, THIS WOULD BE IT.
He's such a hypocrite but in a way that makes him aware of his actions and yet doesn't give a shit cuz he's strong af and can do whatever the hell he wants. Running away isn't an option, this guy WILL DIE TRYING TO MAKE HIS POINT AND NO ONE WILL MAKE HIM THINK OTHERWISE.
The royal osamodas family needs to take some notes. Write these traits down, you inferior wannabe antagonists ✨️✨️✨️
Tumblr media
Are we surprised? No lol
Tumblr media
Well shit.
Guess that wave is coming after all.
LIKE OFC DADDY DRAGON LOVES FIGHTING!!! HE PROBABLY THINKS TALKING IT OUT IS LIKE THE MOST CORNIEST THING YOU CAN EVER DO.
Tumblr media
What Joris said: "It would be best if the fight happened in his territory."
What Joris actually said: "Rasalar is gonna catch some bodies anywhere else. Fight him where he lives. Like that, he'll only ruin his own place."
😭😭😭😭😭😭
Tumblr media
Seriously how big is Luis's extended archive room?????
They got a library that looks like an illuminated underground village, a small secret passageway that leads you to Joris's private room, and a freaking side room showcasing a board with connected maps and research on each of the primordial dragons' locations....
So in a nutshell, Joris is a hoarder, an analyst, a theorist, a lost media collector, AND a stalker lol
We stan Joris's messy lifestyle ✨️✨️
Tumblr media
Makes sense, really.
The primordial dragons were born here with the world. So they originated in a certain beginning point of the world and made it their own place.
This would explain why we saw Dardondakal inside a floating rock in the middle of the ocean while being protected by invisible barriers. It was because that was his own "source location".
Tumblr media
Oooooohh is Yugo gonna bring back the entire gang??? 🥰🥰🥰🥰 OMG WHAT IF THE REASON WHY TOT DECIDED TO MAKE SEVEN GREAT WAVE VOLUMES WAS BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO SEE THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE TOFU REUNITING AGAIN!? This would actually be so cute. They would all end up going to one of those dragon locations together while getting into all kinds of problems just like they did back in Seasons 1 and 2! The idea sounds so nice to think about because come on, you're telling me you don't miss the gang solving problems together all around the world while they were getting closer to their goal? If that's what's going to happen, THEN SIGN ME UP!! We'll get to see them all interact with each other just like in the good old days, except that Pin and Elely will be there (without Flopin...). Or maybe they'd most likely have Goultard babysit them while the rest leave lol. It's better to have a iop babysitter for iops than anything else 😭😭 And Adamaï will most likely have to stay in the Sadida Kingdom for Yugo and Amalia's sake again 💀💀💀💀
But what I would really love most of all, would be to see these adventures WITH A GROWN UP YUGO HELL YEAH BABY ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
That is, IF Tot wants to bring back the old adventuring days lol
Tumblr media
Yugo.
Tumblr media
Yugo who did you give it to.
Last time we saw the Eliasphere, it had been kept in the Eliatrope goddess's garden during Yugo and Amalia's (unconventional) ceremony.
So like....Did Yugo move it around after a few days or was it because of Harebourg in season 5 fucking around and finding out?
Either way, there was a reason, and I think it must've been the latter. I think Harebourg might have been the cause. Because the Eliasphere had been kept in the garden since the sadidas and eliatropes knew that touching it could fuck them up. Which meant that none of them would be stupid enough to try to take it. Besides, the Eliasphere has a defense mechanism anyway. So maybe when Harebourg had fused with the Eliacube, he might have been capable of taking it during Season 5 (I'm only speculating here) without getting attacked by it since the artifact recognized Orgonax's heart inside Harebourg. After some fight with him, Yugo might've realized the danger of keeping the Eliasphere out in the open like this so he gave it to....
He decided to give it to....
Bonta.
So....queen Astra technically has it in her possession.
Like it's painfully obvious that it's Bonta who has it now, given that it zooms at Bonta's Kingdom as soon as Joris says that Yugo didn't give it to him!
At first, I was incredibly perplexed as to why Yugo gave it to Bonta's queens. But when I thought about it some more, the decision to give it to queen Astra...actually made some sense.
Before Season 4 came along, we've never actually seen the world nation rulers' opinions of Yugo and his people.
But when the necromes attacked and Yugo had to explain the situation to the rulers of the world, we were able to fully grasp what each of those kings and queens thought about him.
Tumblr media
The Brakmar King and his general unsurprisingly hate him and his people (but I'm sure they initially started hating him first for making a mockery of their court justice, defending Kriss Krass, and creating a chain of events that would make their best boofbowl player enrage them for her gender reveal and making her fight for women's rights lol)
Tumblr media
Astrub and Amakna's governors didn't even waste a breath and told him to scram.
Tumblr media
And even the Sufokia Empress told him that he was being delusional.
Count Lance Dur hasn't been shown talking to them, but there are no clues hinting that he might have been given the task to keep the Eliasphere. Sure, he spoke to Adamaï and they did get along, but Yugo had no connection with him.
So in general, every single ruler specifically rejected him as well as his people.
All except for queen Astra.
Her conversation with Yugo ended much more differently.
Unlike the other rulers, Astra welcomed Yugo and even told him to stop kneeling so he could properly stand up. She told him this because according to her, he was also a ruler and had also saved the world countless times. She recognized his efforts and accepted him. Joris might have also played a huge factor in this since he does present himself as Bonta's representative which means that he tells Astra everything that's going on, including his moments with Yugo, making him one of the reasons as to why she is at ease around Yugo.
But the second Nora, a complete stranger, tries to stand up as well, Astra forbids her and commands her to stay kneeling. Even when Yugo tries to explain that Nora is his sister, Astra doesn't back down.
Tumblr media
This is crucial to remember because this tells us that Astra believes in Yugo, but not his people. He's not a stranger to her. He's not a burden. He's a hero in her eyes and a king. But his people? She considers them to be strangers and outsiders of a world they had never been in. She finds them strange and dangerous.
Tumblr media
And now that the Eliatrope goddess left with most of her children, this only leaves Yugo and some of the elite eliatropes who helped the sadidas during the necome war. Without the Eliatrope goddess's presence, Astra might feel less tense about Yugo's people since there aren't too many in the world now.
So given that she's the only royal in the world who seems to appreciate Yugo, this only pushes us to further believe that she might have been the one who is now in charge of keeping the Eliasphere in a safe place.
Tumblr media
Remember how chapters 16-17 had these two morons just blatantly sitting down at Kerubim's place without any security???
Well here they are CASUALLY WALKING IN PUBLIC AS IF THEY WEREN'T ROYALS.
Is anyone around them not bothered by this??? I get that they might have not brought any security because they could technically kick ass very easily if something did happen, BUT COME ON NOW!!!
You got the literal SADIDA QUEEN WHO'S WALKING WITH THE ELIATROPE DEMIGOD KING FROM ANOTHER PLANET RIGHT NOW.
Back when they were kids, it was much easier to blend in with the crowd. BUT NOW THAT THEY'RE OFFICIAL HEROES AND RULERS OF A FREAKING KINGDOM, THESE TWO IDIOTS ARE STILL CASUALLY WALKING LIKE RANDOM CITIZENS AS IF THEIR JOBS ISN'T RULING A FREAKING KINGDOM AND GUARDING AN ANCIENT TREE OF LIFE.
Also why is no one stopping them or looking at them?? They're clearly walking in a busy road of the city, do these people seriously not recognize who they are??? They should at least be glancing at them for looking so out of place! My god these people are dumber than iops.
Tumblr media
Amalia...Honey.
The trees are still technically there.
They just ended up being roofs now.
It's for a good cause, I swear ✨️✨️
Amalia's over here explaining the tree's deforestation process to Yugo while he's swimming (HAHA GET IT!?!?!?!?) in his own inner turmoil.
Tumblr media
Alright people.
This is where we can finally discuss that yumalia tweet shower scene being linked to this chapter.
So I've mentioned that this shower scene could happen in a later volume because of what Yugo and Amalia will be discussing right now.
Yugo tells Amalia that he's pretty much grown tired from the constant threats and enemies they've had to fight back to back due to his actions/choices he has made in the past.
He's had enough and just wants to take a break from it all. He wants to spend those free moments with Amalia.
And he doesn't just want a vacation...

GUYS I CALLED IT I FUCKING CALLED IT‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
THIS THIS WAS WHAT MADE ME WAIT FOR TOT TO FINALLY CONFIRM IT FOR US
I'VE BEEN WAITING AND I'M SO HAPPY I FUCKING CALLED IT SINCE SEASON 3‼️‼️‼️😭‼️😭
I am SO FUCKING GLAD that Elely's foreshadowing back in season 3 MADE ABSOLUTE SENSE!!!
I just knew that if we ended up thinking about potential yumalia kids for the future, WE WOULD GET TO FINALLY SEE THAT THEY COULD ACTUALLY MAKE SOME TOGETHER!!!
I get that when season 4 ended, we knew that these two would've eventually thought about having children since Amalia is the last of her bloodline and will have to produce a new heir.
BUT IT'S STILL SO FUCKING AMAZING THAT YUGO GETS TO SAY IT OUT LOUD RATHER THAN SEEING THEM KNOW WHAT TO DO WITHOUT SAYING IT OUT LOUD!!

Yugo. Buddy.
If Dally managed to have a kid WAY BEFORE MARRIAGE with Eva, then don't worry. You're both adults now. It's not too soon and definitely not too late. You lovable idiot.
ALSO WTF!?!? I'M PRETTY SURE THAT AFTER ALL THE IMPLIED SEX THEY HAD, SOME OF US HAD THIS THEORY THAT AMALIA MIGHT'VE BEEN PREGNANT WITHOUT REALIZING IT.
But nope. It looks like they used protection or something. But I obviously don't believe it lol Amalia would DEFINITELY want no barriers or restrictions between them. I guess she just got lucky enough not to have gotten pregnant so many times (it is possible because it does actually happen but it's so funny when you look at these idiots).
Yugo has so many enemies, and the one time he tells her he wants a family is right after they're getting threatened by a PRIMORDIAL DRAGON.
Bro has such shitty timing I swear lol
He's over here with clear eyebags asking her to have his kids 😭😭😭😭😭
Now as funny and stupid as that sounds, I'm honestly not that shocked.
I recently talked about this with @geekgirles because if there's one thing we can say about this interaction is this: Can you imagine how incredibly hard it is for an ancient adventurer to take a break from adventuring???
Yugo had MILLIONS of lives, and all of them had been about ADVENTURING.
The twelvians were incredibly pushy and judgemental to the point where Yugo's optimism just completely faded away, WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY A HUGE PART OF HIS PERSONALITY. He's genuinely tired of everyone and everything that keeps pointing fingers at him when they haven't even looked at themselves in the first place.
It's not that Yugo's unaware of his situation. He's just so fed up with everyone that he just ended up getting used to all the attention as if those were normal occurrences.
That's why he just asked Amalia for his kids out of the blue. Bro isn't fazed about the danger anymore. He just treats this as a normal tuesday.
Tumblr media
Guys.
This is where we'll get to see that mentioned shower scene that Ankama tweeted at Cathiane.
We've come to finally talk about what I meant by that tweet.
So if you saw it, you should know that Ankama, for some unfathomable reason, tweeted Cathiane and sent her a yumalia shower meme. Then Cathiane replies with... "Saw the notif and panicked...”
I bet that Yugo and Amalia will get to go on vacation and only fuck. Like straight up just fuck. And we'll get to see it. And one of these scenes will have that one shower scene.
Omg. I actually fully believe this to be the case.
This is gonna happen.
One of the future volumes (which Tot said that there will be seven in total) will just end up having all the chapters with BIG ASS LABELS IN RED WORDS SAYING "FOR MATURE AUDIENCE" like in chapter one lol
Tumblr media
And there it is folks.
That kiss panel that we've seen being used as a sneak peak a few months ago for the second volume. Absolutely perfect 💖💖💖

I really trust your judgement - can you give us your theories for episode 4 to 6 especially for Nick and June ?
Sure! I haven't listened to some of the new podcasts and interviews but have read Reddit comments summarizing, plus based on the new trailer footage
Episode 4
June obviously doesn't go back to Alaska and stays at the Mayday base with Luke and Moira. Luke is determined to do something which frustrates the fuck out of her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think Luke will frustrate her a lot but they will have a conversation about their relationship where they agree to fight for Hannah together
Tumblr media
I think maybe there will be intel that the commanders they want to kill are going to jezebels so the plan is made for June and Moira and Luke to go undercover
Lawrence is promoted to high commander for NB
The cracks start to show with NB and Lawrence's position
Wharton knows/suspects that Nick shot the guardians
Idk why I just imagine that Nick possibly finishes the job and kills the guardian in the hospital
Episode 5:
June, Moira, and Luke go back into Gilead but separate once they are there.
June and Moira are at the jezebels and maybe they meet Janine there
While killing commanders is on the list of possibilities I could see where the initial plan is to get information or supplies. Regardless they kill someone and put him in the furnace
Something goes awry with pickup or maybe killing someone that way wasn't the plan. They see Lawrence (I guess it could work they see Nick) and June has Lawrence take her (and maybe Moira) out
Lawrence takes them to Nick's house (maybe Rose and Wharton are away for something??) to hide out
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Serena's consequential choice is she accepts Wharton's marriage proposal or something that ties her to Wharton and further entrenches her in Gilead
Nick's consequential choice... is it to hide June at his house? Is it something to do with the guardian? Is it something to do with helping Tuello? A few weeks ago I thought his choice was THE betrayal but I think now it might be a decision that puts him in a position to betray June (like hiding her puts him in trouble with Wharton/Rose, or ending his agreement with Tuello makes June angry with him at his house and they leave on bad terms).
My guesses are it's accepting a promotion to lead fertility/security stuff in NB, hiding June at his house, doing something to help June that gets him in trouble, or ending his deal with Tuello
Episode 6:
June hides out at Nick's house or an empty house in NB. I'm a bit confused by this timeline because when she gets to his house she's obviously wearing the martha disguise (which is why I thought originally he was at the jezebels and saw her) but in the kissing scene she's back in her black button down (unless it's a different button down he loaned her). And when June sees Nick in her martha disguise he's in his typical commander suit, but in the kissing scene he's back in his driver shirt
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also where is Moira? Does she refuse to go with Lawrence?
I think Nick and June will fuck lol but I also think they will have a discussion where they are a bit at odds. I can see her wanting him to fight or wanting to become more entrenched in the rebellion and he pushes back. Not in a "for Gilead" way but in a "I can only trust myself" way
Tumblr media
If this scene of them undercover is in episode 6:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then that mean his betrayal is right at the end of episode 6 or in episode 7 right after this takes place? And if this scene isn't in episode 6 that means this scene comes after episode 8
Right now my guess is June hides with Nick at least for a night, he does go on a mission of sorts with her and helps but they are kind of at odds during it with their different perspectives, and he takes her to the boston globe either as a new hiding place or for her to meet up with other rebels
Nick's betrayal
Based on comments by the cast, right now I'm leaning towards he either shuts down new arrivals/people leaving NB, or he does something that brings Handmaids and aunts to NB and makes it a more dangerous place to be (which then pushes Lawrence to ally with Tuello)
My other guess is he does something that disrupts the plan to murder commanders at jezebels. Like maybe June and Moira don't finish the job but get info for it, June hides with Nick and he helps her with something and then takes her to the boston globe, and when he leaves he is supposed to do something for June but he doesn't
I think Janine being picked up by guardians in one of the trailers is tied to Nick. Maybe instead of helping he has the plan shut down which leads to Janine getting in trouble, or by bringing handmaids and aunts to NB he has some handmaids from jezebels brought which could be seen as "these women are getting another chance to redeem themselves and get a fresh start in NB" (can see Wharton advertising it like that
Other notes:
Does Wharton saying the "this lie will put you on the wall" look like it happens in Nick's house?

What did you think of the first phase of the WCU?
Hmmm, you know what. I'm reviewing it.
Tumblr media
First of all Dragon from 2008, the movie that started it all.
I liked:
●Seeing her origin, how newfoundland fell and her sheer sense of powerlessness before triggering.
●The evolution from her first crude suit to a more regined dragon armor.
●I liked RDJ as Collin, i was very happed they picked up his stinger for the sequel.
●Teacher was a pretty good villain, hapoy they didn't kill him off.
What i didn't like:
●Gwynnet Paltrow's character was unnecesary, why would dragon need a secretary???
●It doesn't get how to make you feel stakes when the protag is an IA
●Terrence Howard as Rennick is just there, and how they changed the actor in the next film left a sour taste.
7/10
Tumblr media
Then you have Lung: Dragon of Kyushu.
What can i say that hasn't been said yet? I was skeptic for them reimagining Lung as a hero but it just works.
I like how it set up Leviathan as the overarching villain of the phase, i like how it has that runaway vibe with Kenta running from the Yangban.
The CGI of his fight against Seven was pasable, and the post credit scene with Zero planning to hunt him down went nowhere. But idc, it was overall pretty good. 9/10
I would have killed for another Lung movie.
Tumblr media
The ugly duckling of Phase 1, Dragon 2.
I honestly liked it more than the first one, Saint and the dragon slayers are an actual threat that works.
Dragons own issues with her nature are explored in a neat way.
I liked the teacher plot twist at the end, that he had been manipulating saint.
And please tell me the scene of Dragon and Armsmaster killing the Dragonslayers didn't fuck.
8/10, fun watch.
Tumblr media
Theo my beloved. Golem fucked so much man.
A coming of age story about a young man leaving his nazi family behind.
It kind of gets completely interrumpted by the Slaughterhouse nine tbh.
Like i get you are building up a cinematic universe but having some guy show up, say "i will come back on a couple years and kill everybody and thats on you" and fuck off wasn't terribly great.
But the final fight against Hookwolf as a middlepoint between the nazi family subplot and the slaughterhouse 9 subplot worked.
6/10
Tumblr media
I don't like flashback movies in big cinematic universes. Sometimes they feel like they don't mean a thing on the long term because most characters are dead so they won't affect that comes later.
Miss Millitia: the first ward shutted me up.
Hanah is a fucking great protagonist, all of the first wards are great.
I loved her bromance with mouse protector, i cried when she died.
What the fuck is Hugo Weaving playing Allfather????
Overall i feel like this is the best out of the Phase.
10/10
Tumblr media
It all came to it. Protectorate from 2012.
Leviathan was pretty built up from Lung and Dragon so it felt like it worked. Jack felt pretty tacked on tbh.
I like how it sets up Scion as this cameo total force of good that can't affect the plot. Wonder what they will do with him.
I didn't like that Collin set a fucking nuke towards new york. I hope there are consecuences for this in the future.
Liked how director Armstrong got to assemble the tram through the movies.
I don't know how to feel about Blue Flechette, apparently her first costume in the comics was like that? Idk.
Scarlett Johansen as Queen aka Emily Piggot from the PRT was cool.
Honestly that what Protectorate is. Cool.
Even if that bastard Jack escaped at the end of the movie.
8/10

What are your thoughts on transformers prime and transformers one?
TL:DR I liked both! TFP was my first Transformers show that I watched all the way through and TF1 was a lot of fun! Opinions on Starscream under the break pfpfpfpfpfpf
Prime was literally my first Transformers experience (Okay that's not true, I did see the first Bay movie when it came out but lets not talk about that). It's really good! My favorite character was Ratchet, I loved that he's just a tired, grumpy, racist old man and he's a doctor. Knock Out was the best thing to come out of TFP and he really should be in more stuff. Really would have loved a fourth season but it wouldn't have been the same without the children around. I liked what we got!
Prime has an excellent Starscream, Steve Blume does an amazing performance with both his deep conniving gravel and his high pitched terrified sputtering. So much character in his animation too, especially in later seasons, and an incredibly compelling character arc. Prime Starscream is not a good person, but I would burn the world for him, and I like the small moments in the show that hint at something in his character that could be turned to good, but circumstance always works against him in that regard. He's just so pathetic, but also competent and dangerous, all the best qualities of a Starscream and a very unique design!
Transformers One was quite good, I was worried because of the trailers but I was surprised by how well executed it all was. None of the characters were annoying, and making Optimus Prime originally one of the oppressed class alongside Megatron was a good move. The scene where Orion gives Dee the sticker is so cute, I simply cannot. The ending felt a bit rushed but what can you do, it wasnt so bad that it's a problem for me.
I would have loved just a little more Starscream in the movie! Like, I knew he wasn't really gonna be in the movie much so i was prepared for it to be little more than a glorified cameo, but I loved a lot of what we did get and I feel like it was missing just a little bit more! Like, the whole High Guard turned rogue backstory he has is great, implies some honor to his character since he didnt keep serving Sentinal when the guy turned Cybertron over to the Quintissance. I think it's hilarious that Starscream is so much older than Megatron. Like, they gave us a lot of food to make headcanons out of, but then the rushed ending kind of left me with no real reason given for him and the rest of the High Guard to go with Megatron without a fight. Like, I think the reason given was that, because Megatron beat him up that one time, and then killed Sentinal, and since the High Guard became a might makes right society and hates Sentinal, I guess thats why they are loyal to him now. And I guess the one line where Starscream is like "all hail megatron" is supposed to indicate he's 100% behind Megatron now and not just a spur of the moment thing. And I guess them following his command to destroy the city is why theyre being banished. But like...idk, every other plot point was well established and properly played out, and the whole decepticons thing just didnt really feel like enough, and i kind of feel like it should have been more clearly communicated considering its an entire one side of a two sided war? I feel like we werent shown the high guard doing anything egregiously bad besides attacking people because megatron told them to.
Like, there's nothing in the movie to suggest that Starscream and the High Guard arent still loyal to the Primes. So when Orion comes back as a prime, like a proper prime, with the matrix and everything, which everyone knows will make the energon flow again, I'm surprised Starscream didnt at least try to make excuses or worm his way into avoiding banishment? My headcanon is he wanted to kill Sentinal as bad as Megatron and so when Megatron finally does what he failed to do for 50 cycles, he's like aite im ride or die for this guy. Maybe 50 cycles of living in the wilderness doing nothing but scout and pit fight all day changes a guy and they dont wanna live in a society anymore. Why dont they accept Optimus as the new prime? They helped him and Elita save their friends, and unlike Sentinal Optimus has the actual Matrix this time. Idk mang. Woulda liked a bit more.
Transformers One, not my favorite design for Starscream. The head vents going wide at the bottom look weird to me, and his legs are so long and flat.
Thems my opinions!

You’ve expressed like all of the opinions I’m too afraid to post about sotr on here and I want to say thank you! I feel like I’m going crazy seeing everyone talk about how great Lenore dove was when she barely had anything that made her distinct from Lucy gray. Haymitch just tells us about how good and perfect she is and all we really get is that she hates the capitol and keeps secrets from him? But she’s his whole motivation and purpose in life? Idk his obsession with her just didn’t make sense and people make the excuse of young love and teenagers but idk I’m not buying it.
I also HATE how they make him using the force field to win something he did by accident rather than a calculated move. He literally doesn’t remember the force field until after the axe goes over the edge. Like the capitol edit propaganda made him seem more like a rebel than he actually was? I also get the idea of wanting to show how long the rebellion has been working behind the scenes but it would’ve been so much better to see how their individual traumas drew them together. Like I hate that Haymitch only continues with the rebellion because of his dead girlfriend (who gives very manic pixie) rather than because he truly believes in making sure no other child suffers his trauma. I just don’t understand why they got rid of his intellect and just made him a soldier of the rebellion following orders.
I get the themes of propaganda and whatever but it falls flat for me when the story given to us by the capitol is so much more compelling as an example of the early days of the rebellion. The best parts of this book were the side characters like I was mostly reading for Maysilee and Wyatt. They were the saving grace.
Idk I have so many thoughts, sorry that was long lol just had to vent to someone else who is capable of seeing that this book is deserving of some criticism!
I’m really glad to see that others share the same opinion but I’m also not surprised that more people aren’t posting about it. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m older and have learned to deal with conflict without escalating to calling people names for their opinions, which unfortunately does happen on the internet often where people hide behind anonymity. (You’re fine this isn’t a jab.) I also have an English/Literacy degree so I’m not posting anything simply to hate on a book or an author. What I do have is extensive training for breaking text apart to analyze it and think critically about whether or not what we are being presented makes sense or is plausible with an already established story.
I’m also someone who cares about books deeply and Haymitch has always been my favourite character in the original series because of all of his trauma and how he doesn’t want to pass that on to anyone else. He drinks and suffers in silence because the pain of ALL of the people he’s lost has stacked up over 24 years before the 74th games. Katniss has a very good insight into Haymitch’s life in the first book:
But secretly I'm wondering if Haymitch sobered up long enough to help Peeta and me because he thought we just might have the wits to survive. Maybe he wasn't always a drunk. Maybe, in the beginning, he tried to help the tributes. But then it got unbearable. It must be hell to mentor two kids and then watch them die. Year after year after year. I realize that if I get out of here, that will become my job. To mentor the girl from District 12. The idea is so repellent, I thrust it from my mind (HG.306).
I think of Haymitch, with all his money. What did his life become? He lives alone, no wife or chil- dren, most of his waking hours drunk. I don't want to end up like that (HG.311).
His character has changed so completely to someone I don’t recognize in sotr and all of this was done to simply include a 16 year old girlfriend 24 years dead. Haymitch never needed a girlfriend to be obsessed over for he rest of his life to explain why he was single when we know from Katniss’ own fears and Haymitch’s personal experiences why he never found a wife or had kids; his own family was stripped from him as punishment and being a victor does not guarantee your children’s safety.
So how is 25 years of mental exhaustion and pain not enough of a motivation for him to rebel against the Capital with everyone else? Why add Lenore that not only strips his motive away but also his lived experiences? I’m not even going to get into all the propaganda stuff because it’s all badly done/stupid since we know the Capital is already chock full of propaganda.
I feel like we could have very plausibly gotten a novel based on early days of the rebellion but it could never be Haymitch’s games. It actually would have been a lot more compelling and make more sense plot wise I’d say we had: a book set maybe on the 60th hunger games?
A set of tributes from district 12, we’d get to see Haymitch relatively towards the earlier days of his mentoring career (maybe see how his mental state is doing and how he’s slowly deteriorating with the loss every year). Have these two tributes be an early spark for the rebellion. Maybe they could do something like trying to blow up an arena in their games and Snow has them targeted and killed (like he would have with Haymitch in sotr if he didn’t have plot armour).
We know district 12 hadn’t had a single victor in between Haymitch, Katniss and Peeta. So show us a book where we know for the entire time that we’re reading it that the tributes whose point of view we are focusing on are not going to win. Show us how another death impacts Haymitch and maybe after 10 years of watching two kids die he locks himself in his house and drowns himself with alcohol.
The thing is a good story does still exist in this universe, but the author has given up.
