I love how the Envy chapter has Maka, the one who always tries to be perfect, the one who's optimistic, finally breaks down when her insecurities about Soul are prodded, that she doubted Soul liked her enough as a partner and he deserves better because she can't understand music, and believes it will be the thing that takes him away from her.

And then Soul, who's always believed he'd never amount to anything and thus never tries hard enough, the one's always pessimistic, didn't succumb to the effects of the book because he's finally certain about what Maka truly means to him; Maka isn't just an escape from music, she's the inspiration of his own music.

She is his muse.

Hi, sorry I'm gonna be blunt here: I'm not in the business of catering my words to appeal to every possible way someone might interpret them. If you think it doesn't apply to you then I wasn't talking to you.

That said, you say your sexuality isn't fluid? Congratulations! You're glass! Rigid, yet still technically fluid!

I'll reiterate my point: Nobody's fluidity is going to be the same as anyone else's. Nothing about humanity is binary. You may go your whole life without your fluidity shifting in it's container but a fluid in an airtight container is still a fluid. You do not have to act on or acknowledge it. But it doesn't change the reality of that and holding yourself to such rigidity in your perception of yourself and that reality is only going to lead to your hurting yourself. As in this case where words - again, not directed at you - that you disagreed with, in your own words, 'really upset [you]'.

If my words upset you, feel absolutely free to ignore them! It doesn't affect me in any way if you disagree! I am not trying to invalidate how you feel and/or navigate your own interpretation of your sexuality!

But again: I wasn't talking to you, so I don't see the point in you coming to complain at me about things that I already covered with regard to where we might disagree.

Also, when I said 'nothing material has changed about that person' I, in fact, meant 'nothing material has changed about that person'. Your interpretation/understanding of them is not something material and it is not something about them that is changed. It is something about you. If you are going to argue the point at least be clear on what point I was making for you to argue against.

Anyway. To direct myself at the people I was actually talking to: If you find something about yourself, be it your sexuality or your gender identity, that seems to be operating outside of the framework of the identity label you thought or still believe applies to you? That is completely normal. It is a chance for reflection, not distress. The only person that should define you is yourself.

@cheriboms honestly my favorite thing about this relationship is that it's the same relationship whether it's romantic or platonic or who-the-heck-knows-what: they're just like this, no matter what. And I love that about them so, so much. It is absolutely the chief thing that makes them so wonderful and fascinating, to me!

With pretty much every other fictional relationship out there, the way they're written changes, at least a little bit, depending on if the characters are romantically involved in each particular story or not—but not them. They're just them, full stop. Always.

And they're sailing to Valinor and nobody can stop them.

I see a lot of stuff with Gimli losing his temper and Legolas having to hold him back from charging in axe-first at whatever has angered him (sometimes even picking him up to stop him) and admittedly I love this!

But also consider: almost every time somebody offends or insults Gimli in the books, his reaction is along the lines of declaring “I would take offense at your words, save that you are too ignorant to know how wrong they are” in I assume just the most refined, lofty voice you can imagine.

Whereas Éomer threatens Gimli one (1) time in front of Legolas and our Mirkwood madlad is immediately ready to throw-down with half* of Rohan’s army.

I’m saying what I would like to see more of is Legolas losing his temper, and Gimli being the cool-headed half of the pair that has to hold his lanky longshanks boyfriend back from doing a murder.

At long last: either an alternate explanation for or continuation of my prior comic regarding how Bill was ABSOLUTELY naked in Ford's karaoke night drawing. (Because errors in art do not exist. Artists do not make mistakes. So if you see any in this comic, No You Do Not.)

I'm not really clear on exactly when Bill started throwing his desperation book at Ford just like a needy ex do, but I find it extremely funny to imagine it happening literally the day of or after the makeshift funeral. Bill just gets this weird sense of 'Ford is taking steps to move on' and CANNOT FUCKING ABIDE.

I hope you enjoy all the goofy things I added to each page of Bill's sad spieling. (Everything SHOULD be readable so long as you view the full size, but I have added basically this whole little fanfic in the image descriptions, LMAO, which lays out all the little written notes and such.) Also don't ask how Bill managed to sneak that vampire pen in there. I have no idea, and honestly? I don't wanna know.

Yes, EV-01 was only ever assigned to Bill's case due to the Theraprism being desperate to make some progress in rehabilitating him. No, it did not work anywhere close to staff's expectations - Bill didn't even appreciate EV-01's matching fondness for bowties!
