I have read their translations of all of these and they're all solidly translated, decently edited, and excellent books. I honestly can't pick a favorite, they're all great in different ways. Little Mushroom is incredible, and I think everyone who likes spec fic should read it. The Imperial Uncle was delightful. If you like Modu and/or Poyun you'll almost certainly also enjoy In the Dark. Golden Stage I like so much I bought it even though I'd already read the fantranslation. It looks like at least some print titles are sold out; it's worth grabbing the ebooks if the print aren't available anymore.

It's depressing to know that if all the people I know who've said they want to or plan to read these books had actually gotten them, maybe they wouldn't be closing (but maybe they would, sales might not be the problem, idk). Regardless, you've got 2 weeks to a month left to buy them depending where you are in the world. Don't miss out, they're all great in their own ways.

realized a drawing i'm doing rn is almost identically posed to one i did 8.5 years ago of a different oc, except the old drawing was instantly tainted by one of the players featured messaging me asking if i could take it down because their abusive, possessive rp partner saw it and got jealous of them "roleplaying behind their back" and i said "nah" and it became a whole Thing that i should have walked away from at that exact moment but didn't and the 6 months that followed contained some of the most truly condensed batshit i have ever witnessed in an rp community already well-known for its batshittery.

once again seeing someone gush about how good Every Heart a Doorway is and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. That book was Bad. WHAT do people see in it. There's enough material for a short story or a novel but as a novella the pacing is just, a mess. It introduces a fascinating emotional question and then refuses to do anything at all interesting with it. There's a serial murderer on the loose and the main character still spends half the book angsting about her crush. The side characters were so annoying I was relieved rather than sad when they died. And the main character's happy ending is committing magical suicide. Empowering! The moral of the story is being asexual makes you so unable to function in the world you will be happier dead!

"Noooooo she doesn't die she just abandons the world of the living and goes to the land of the dead to become a statue forever--" HOW IS THAT DIFFERENT FROM DYING. EXPLAIN TO ME. EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THAT'S A HAPPY ENDING.
