Defiant and Stoic captured together

Defiant to whumper: "yeah, keep talking..." Stoic shoots them a shocked look like do you not know when to shut your mouth

Stoic biting their lip and wincing as defiant gets slapped, then talks back again,

Stoic gets beaten instead of defiant, to see if that will shut them up

Stoic to defiant: "I wish I was as brave as you." Defiant laughs. "Brave? I only tell jokes when I'm about to piss my pants. It's the only way I keep my shit together."

Defiant gains respect for their wit and willpower, getting special favors and surviving, while stoic fades from notice and soon isn't important enough to keep alive

Defiant living in terror lest they meet the same fate as stoic and get too "boring"

Or, Stoic watching defiant get brought in bloodier and more broken every time. Trying to teach defiant how to clam up and shut down and defiant just yells at them that "that's not me!"

Stoic gaining respect for their calmness, and then defiant finally pisses whumper off enough to get killed right in front of stoic and stoic just falls to their knees and breaks down

Defiant telling a joke and slapping stoic's arm, stoic lowers their head to hide a smirk. And that smirk makes defiant's whole day.

Stoic interceding for defiant--"no he said he appreciates the finery, sir, not--" Defiant interrupts: "No, you heard me right, peacock." Stoic just melting inside as they watch defiant verbally destroy whumper...

Whumper trying to break stoic's facade by slapping, doing the chin tilt, walking around them, threatening (like "I did need a new personal attendant..."), watching for a flinch, and then defiant interrupts with "hey hands off, that one's mine!"

Humilate Your Whumpees!!

content: recapture, forced to watch, noncon nudity, scars, implied and actual torture, humiliation tactics, forced to beg, boot licking, branding, royal whumpee, defiant whumpee, creepy whumper, manhandling, restraints, forced reveal (lemme know if I missed anything)

Recaptured whumpee stripping down at Whumper’s orders. Hands pausing at the edges of their frayed shirt, at their belt buckle, please please—. And the worst is that their teammates are watching with sickened expressions; with each piece of removed clothing, they can see more and more of Whumper’s careful knife work. And is that Whumper’s name? Engraved into whumpees back?

“Go ahead, beg. On your hands and knees” Defiant whumpee finally collapses to the basement floor. For the first time, they can’t think of anything to say. They feel like the winds been knocked out of them, taking every ounce of strength with it. They’ve never begged. Cursed a ton, yelled a bit too, but never begged. But when they make eye contact with Caretaker, hanging up from the ceiling and whumper circling them, whumpee suddenly can’t beg fast enough. The words are practically falling out of their mouth. And by the time they finish, whumper only frowns. “Do it again. Better this time.”

Royal whumpee dragged onto a stage or onto a balcony, without their crown and visibly disheveled. Whumper grabbing their wrist and shoving them towards their audience. “Behold your leader!” This is the first time whumpee has seen the sunlight in days and it’s blinding. “Or what’s left of them,” Guards hold them down as whumper presses a glowing brand to their chest. The fall of royalty to nothing at all happens in a matter of moments. And it is crushing.

An elf whumpee kneeling at Whumper’s side during a party. They have a collar around their throat and Whumper holds the leash. Every so often, whumper yanks at it and pulls them to their feet to show them off to a curious guest. “Turn for me, darling”. whumper pulls back their hair to reveal the pointy tipped ears, like whumpee is a museum exhibit. And if whumpee resists do they receive a backhanded slap for their defiance, or something worse? What can be worse than the guests creeping hands or Whumper’s possessive grip on their shoulder for all to see?

Whumpee spitting on Whumper’s boots and getting a kick to the face for their troubles. Whumper grabs a fistful of hair and wrenches them upwards until the two of them are inches apart. Whumpee glares, seething. “Clean my boots,” snarls Whumper and there isn’t a soul in the world who can help whumpee now. “Lick them clean.” Whumpee is almost tempted to say over my dead body—. Whumper shoves whumpees head down, into the disgusting smelling leather. “Now!”

Bonus: “hey, those scars? Who did that to you?”/ “they’re none of your business.”

Whumpee & His Collar part 2

Warnings: tight collar around Whumpee's neck, severely restricted breathing, mentions of beating and past torture & conditioning, panic attack and choking

The collar was tight around his neck, digging into his skin with every strained breath he took.

"Oh honey, I promised I wouldn't hurt you here, and I keep my promises," Caretaker tried to soothe. "Why don't you want the collar off?"

"What did I do wrong?" Whumpee choked out.

"What did you... do wrong?" Caretaker echoed, confused. "You did nothing wrong, Whumpee -- what gave you that impression?"

Whumpee pointed with a shaky finger to the collar around his neck. "Y-You were going to take it off, which means I did something horrific and need to be thoroughly punished for it." He couldn't understand why, but he saw Caretaker's eyes fill with sad tears.

"I... think I understand now. But you're not with Whumper anymore," Caretaker spoke softly. "New house, New rules, okay? You will never be hurt here. Not even with your collar off."

Whumpee found it hard to believe her words. His entire life revolved around this collar, it gave him a clear sense of direction and purpose. So that he would always know what to expect at any given time, depending on how tight it was strapped around his throat.

But Caretaker hadn't done anything with it in all the time since his rescue. So... maybe she was telling the truth...

Whumpee's chest was heaving with the effort to keep breathing by now, his mouth gaped open as he gasped and choked on sobs.

"Whumpee, please -- you're going to pass out if you keep it up. Please let me take it off. I promise I won't hurt you, and I will always love and care for you. Do you trust me?" Caretaker reached her hands out toward him, pausing a few inches away as though waiting for permission to make contact. Giving Whumpee a choice, to accept or deny her help.

Whumpee squeezed his eyes shut tight, terrified beyond belief, but forced himself to give a shallow nod. But he still reflexively flinched when he felt Caretaker's warm hands gently cup his face, a soothing and comforting presence.

"You're going to be okay, Whumpee, just breathe..."

Whumpee tried his absolute best to obey, he really did, to be good and perfect for her -- but it was just so difficult with the tight collar in place, his situation worsened by the panicked hyperventilating. He felt Caretaker's hands gently slide down from his jaw to his neck, carefully fiddling with the clasp keeping the collar on him.

The fear washed over him all over again, but he managed to hold still as Caretaker finally unbuckled the collar and took it off completely. Cold air hit the skin where the collar always rested for the first time in weeks, a sensation so unnatural and foreign to him.

Then there were strong arms around him, pulling him away from the wall he was curled up and cowering against and into a fierce hug.

“You're so brave, Whumpee, so so brave” Caretaker praised comfortingly, running a soothing hand through his hair in the way she knew he liked most.

Whumpee trembled like a fragile leaf in her arms with a whine, burying his face into her shoulder, and clinging to her desperately like a lifeline. It felt different to be able to properly breathe again, so strange after he'd gotten used to the calculated, measured breaths he'd take whenever the collar was on.

He gulped it down greedily, sucking in as much fresh air as he could with each deep breath. Caretaker was right, it felt so much better to have the torturous collar off.

“Y-You're not going to abandon me now that's it off, are you?” Whumpee asked quietly, his voice wobbly and uncertain.

“Never, Whumpee, never,” Caretaker answered firmly. There was no hesitation whatsoever in her tone, and Whumpee wanted to cry again – in gratitude this time instead of fear.

“Thank you for taking care of me, Caretaker,” Whumpee mumbled into her shoulder.

“Always,” Caretaker whispered into his ear. An eternal promise, one that she would forever keep.

Characters Holding Each Other In Whump

This is my demand to see more characters holding each other in whump, but also my opportunity to go on about characters holding each other in whump.

I need more of it, it's so warm, and great when it's characters dependent and safe to one another. Or it's creepy and harrowing when it's between whumper and anything.

I need more of

Caretaker finally reaching whumpee, and pulling them to their chest. Now that they are within each other's arms Caretaker is not letting go.

Multiple whumpees who cannot see each other directly, but hear their voices and reach their hands just far enough to feel each other's touch. Maybe they're reaching out between cell bars, perhaps there's a hole in the walls of an enclosure, or an open slot to a lab. Either way, they've found a hand to hold.

A distraught whumpee crawling over to their only friend, and waiting to be pulled into someone's lap.

When a known threat (whumper) approaches and a protective character pulls another into their grasp to shield them.

Two shivering characters latched onto each other, removing as much space between themselves as possible. After all, what if someone separates them again?

Whumper holding whumpee from behind, swaying them back and forth, listening to the subtle sounds of fright.

Two words: Bridal Carry. Whumpee nuzzling their face into caretaker's chest for bonus points. For extra bonus points, latching onto to caretaker's clothing despite being carried.

Whumpee trying to escape from a whumper they've pummeled thoroughly, only for the half-conscious whumper to grab whumpee one last time. Is it a pleading? A don't go? Or just a final act of terror?

Caretaker sitting on the bed next to a whumpee, and bringing them into their grasp as they whimper.

Physical Signs of Extreme Pain: Weird Edition 👽❤️‍🩹🤷‍♀️

I've made some pain reference posts over the years, but apart from passing out from pain, I haven't gotten much into the just plain weird shit the body does when it's really hurting. Time to fix that.

Fireflies: Sure, seeing spots is a thing. Black spots on the edge of your whumpee's vision, getting closer in slow pulses when they're having trouble breathing and struggling to hang onto consciousness. But when they just straight up hurt, your whumpee can get weird little floating things that flash like fireflies or tiny pieces of metallic silver confetti drifting around. In my experience, they've been linked to effort--they tend to either start or multiply fast when I stand up or otherwise try to move when I'm in unusually intense pain.

Shivering: Not because your whumpee is cold or in shock, but because their muscles are taut to the point of strain (because the body responds to pain with muscle tension), and when those muscles can't tighten further, they shake. It's the same mechanism that makes your fists shake if you're angry and clenching them past the point they can reasonably be clenched, just all over.

Teeth Chattering: No, seriously. In my experience, it mostly tends to happen as the shivering escalates, but I've had it just start up on its own when I get slammed with a spike in pain out of nowhere like cramps, or if I'm late taking a dose of my meds. I hate it because in the first place it's annoying, in the second place it's very noticeable, and in the third place I have absolutely no control over it. Clenching my teeth doesn't stop the muscles from trying to make them chatter, it just makes them (even more) sore. Also it's hard to talk, and I bite my cheek and tongue. A lot.

Ear Stuff: A ring that your whumpee feels as much as they hear. It's not a tone like a lot of tinnitus is, it's more like the pressure-changing "sound" you'll get as a plane takes off. And it feels like it's physically inside their ears, like someone has taken the world's heaviest, smallest ball-bearing and stuck it in their ear canals and it's trying to pull them down into and through the floor.

The Air Hurts: Your whumpee gets an all-over feeling like someone pressing lightly on a bruise, and the more they think about it, concentrate on it, the more their brain becomes irrationally convinced that the air has become dense around them and that's what's causing it. Because nothing is there, there is no external pressure, it's just pain signals behaving in a goofy way, and their brain is scrambling for an explanation. They might subconsciously pull their hands or other exposed skin into their clothing, or hunch over and pull everything in toward their chest to "protect" their skin from the air around them.

"Litte [animal]" type pet names for whumpees will always drive me feral, especially if they're prey animals.

"Little mouse."

"Little rabbit."

"Little deer."

"Little bird."

Oh, man, little bird is my favorite, actually. It scratches a very particular itch and has a specific undertone of affection that the others don't. Whumpee is just a little bird in a cage for whumper, something for them to admire and play with until they get bored or whumpee stops singing for them (literally or figuratively!)

Prey animal pet names don't work for every whumper or whumpee, but they are sooooooooooo good when they do. I'd love to see them used more often.

Or whumpee saying something too hilarious at whumper's expense and whumper decided to beat the fuck out of them

Inside of a gang so the honor system says it's 1 on 1 but whumpee has no real chance because if they start winning, the gang will pull them off and hold them down so whumper can beat the shit out of them

Whumpee losing and whumper getting up, panting, and grabbing a whip, "you wanted to see what I'd do? Here's what I'll do"

Gang holding whumpee back, snarling and spitting insults and, maybe even just spit, as whumper hastily, angrily gets on their brass knuckles

Whumpee on the ground getting kicked by everyone's boots

"wait wait," boss pushes the gang back. "Let me." ->one harder kick that makes whumpee cry out

Whumper to whumpee who has given up, aiming a kick: "hold still." *Yelp of pain* "I'm not stopping until I get one good one in! Now hold still!"

Gentle fingers brushing the hair from Whumpee’s face - carefully peeling it back through the sheen of sweat that’s left.

“Shhh…you’re okay. I’m not gonna hurt you anymore..”

Kissing tears from the corners of Whumpee’s eyes.

Whumper keeping Whumpee sedated between sessions to 'help them cope'.

Pinning a squirming Whumpee in an embrace. Grip tightening the more they struggle. 

Whumpee being so tired. So so so very tired. They can’t help but lean into the gentle touch. 

Whumper ignoring every shiver and twitch that accompanies the gentle pets they give their broken toy.

Whumpee thrashing to the point of hyperventilation as Whumper wraps them up in blankets. The panic in their eyes ever so slowly fading as they realize they’re not being hurt anymore.

Whumpee desperately not trying to lean into it or accept the comfort. They don’t want it from them - don’t want to melt into the hands that ripped screams from them just a few minute before. But they need something. And Whumper knows it.

“Look at you. Pathetic little thing~”

Shoving Whumpee into a bath to trigger some kind of calming response. Whumpee just thinks they’re going to be drowned. …….maybe they will be. Just a little bit.

Whumper combing a hand through Whumpee’s hair - soft and rhythmic and sweet - as they carve into Whumpee.

“Shhh..just focus on me. Don’t look at  it- just look at me. Listen to my voice. You’re doing so good, little one.”

Kisses peppering over Whumpee’s cheeks, lips, forehead, brows, jaw, etc as their face puckers up, trying to twist away. 

A hug that looks gentle until you notice Whumper’s hand fisted in Whumpee’s hair. Keeping them exactly in place.

Drugging Whumpee to ‘help with the nerves’. Watching their panicked sobs slowly peter out into nothing as they stare miserably at their captor.
