Whumptober 2023 - Day 20 - Dehumanization

Not born into a certain class, maybe even belonging to another species, crossing paths with the wrong people... and just like that your autonomy gets taken away and you get treated like things, like goods to be bartered with, like property without free will.

Thinking about defiant whumpee being held down while a muzzle is forcibly strapped over there face

Knocking the air out of them

Hitting the backs of their knees so they collapse

Easily pushing them down by the shoulder because they're already struggling to stand

Dragging them down by the hair

Holding a gun to their head

Tazing them

Threatening a loved one until they obey

I will be honest, I don't know the difference between box boy whump and pet whump except I suppose box boy is a specific universe within the pet whump umbrella...? Of which I know very little.

But I enjoy what I've seen of it. Love the hurt/comfort and some of the variety in boxies that I've seen.

there's something so beautiful about the phrase "what did you do to them?"

is it coming from a whumpee, who just returned home to find their village burned, their family gone?

is it from a caretaker, who is shaking with barely contained rage as they see Whumpee semi-conscious and bleeding?

is it from a whumper, cold and mocking, as they blame Whumpee for their own actions, for hurting the people Whumpee cares about?

Beautiful indeed! It's such a classic whump line for a good reason. I can just hear the different inflections you can put into it. Ugh it's so good! I am a big fan of the second one when it's said by someone who cares a lot about whumpee just incredibly angry and saying that with a bite to their tone. SO GOOD!
