The Other Side

“Are we really doing this?” Sam asked breathlessly.

“Yeah, Sammy, we are. You good?” Dean couldn’t take his eyes off his brother, waiting for his answer.

“We’re good Dean. I just...don’t want to lose you.”

“You won’t, Sam. Hold my hand and we’ll step through together. We’ll do it together. No matter what, we’ll always be together.”

Sam nodded. His heart was racing. Neither of them knew what was on the other side. Besides, everyone else had already passed through. If they made it, they’d all be waiting for them. Rowena, Garth, Mom, and just now, Jack and Cas.

“It’s just...I feel like we’re giving up, Dean.” Sam’s eyes looked sad.

“We’re not giving up, Sam. We’ve done everything we could do. It’s over. Michael won this time.” Dean’s voice cracked when he spoke. He truly thought they would win this fight.

But this was all that was left. Their only option. Michael had destroyed their world just as he did the other universe. So Jack had opened another tear in the fabric of time and space. No one knew where it went, because no one had come back. But all stepped through willingly.

They were running out of time. Their world was burning.

Sam and Dean took one last look at each other, grabbing each other’s hand.

Together they stepped through the rift, the world around them encasing them in a bright, white light.

DAMMIT!

So, I finally have a night where it doesn’t matter what time I go to bed, because I don’t have to get up in the morning! With all the stress with my grandad’s sudden and rapid decline, getting SLAMMED at work all week because of the Easter/spring rush, feeling not-so-well, the hockey tournament and now trying to salvage the spring season for the entire TEAM after the club dropped the ball and didn’t register us in time...

I was SO VERY LOOKING FORWARD TO TONIGHT. Everything looked great. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT.

UNTIL, I said something. I just had to say something, right? Because then, it suddenly wasn’t.

I bought a nice bottle of margaritas and planned on chilling and escaping reality. 

LOL, oh, HELL no. Silly girl. That’s not for you! *shaking my head*

sometimes I wonder about the Jocelyn in universe B that had the means to go Loyola right after high school before her mental illness got the best of her. I mean it worked out for me now. I'm happy. I'm a little lonely but I just have to keep putting myself out there but I wonder about the Jocelyn that could have been a contender. That would have gone to school with future lawyers and doctors and been catholic and made a nice wife to an alumni from that school...

Re: Jake and Amy. I think that Jake has been very respectful of Amy not returning his feelings and wanting to be friends. But it's tough when you like someone and have to be around them all the time without having time to get over those feelings. So Jake has to learn to talk and be friends with Amy all over again without the flirty overtones, which takes time (hence the awkward convo). I know I'm not going to change you mind, just thought I'd add my thoughts.

No you’re actually right.  I think I kind of took a very surface offense to that scene because my first thought was ‘wow, if it’s not about getting into her pants he just can’t treat her like a normal person?’ but you know what? That’s not actually fair, because they’ve shown over and over that Jake is very respectful, especially toward Amy. And Jake has no problem talking with and joking with Gina and Rosa with no angle.  I do think that without the clutch of flirting Jake would have a hard time figuring out how to act normally around Amy, when put out of his comfort zone he usually freezes.  I should have given this scene the benefit of the doubt.
